Version 1.1 of COP takes forever to manually save or load a game. The game hangs for ~20 seconds to load my game saves list when I click the "load" or "save" button in the main menu. I'm at prypiat, about 2 missions from ending the game. Playing on PC.

They ran the game through AI & resold it at the same price as the originals (if not higher) because A. Nobody bought the OGs, marketing tactic and B. You could find keys for the OGs on third party sites for peanuts, but now they'll have to charge you full price on Steam. Oh, and C. Console releases, introduce an entirely new market albeit to a poor product.

I don't think it would. Stalker has a niche audience, it's small as is. You're essentially selling to a limited market, and the longer development takes, the less profit you're bound to make. A year was honestly more than enough, considering gems like Fallout New Vegas were made in LESS than a year. And that was from scratch, ground zero, not just a remaster.
They completely fumbled the time they had for quick & easy profit. Seems like the company that handled it just sat on their ass for 90% of the time.
Honestly just look at EE lol, half assed censorship, AI enhancements, and that's literally it. That doesn't take a year, it takes a week, tops.
Based on how they utilize their time, I don't think even 6 extra years would be enough.

they could literally use those, plug & play, no artist work needed, and the game would suddenly look a lot better

On top of this, they could use higher resolution textures from earlier protos if they dedicated some time to go through the earlier versions and see where higher res textures were available.

The 1.1.0 update for the "Enhanced" Edition of STALKER Clear Sky completely broke the game for me. Every time I click on "Load Game" it crashes. I even tried reinstalling the game, but the same thing keeps happening. Can somebody help me pls?

As for what I can recommend, it depends on what are you are looking for:
- Atmosphere: Shadow of Chornobyl
- Refined mechanics and gun play: Call of Prypiat
- Buggy mess with simple faction mechanics: Clear Sky

Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure what you mean in this case.
The mechanics I refer as refined is what Clear Sky started already but that game is buggy as hell if having to install the fan patches is anything to go by.
Like for example, the upgrade system had more options, the detectors have an extra upgrade in the form of the Svarog prototype and the way healing works was changed (I rather prefer the bandages in this game to Scar's constant bleeding at least). At least, those are the changes I noticed

cop is just mid, it have big maps, but a dead a-life, it's stable but with a mid story, better gunplay but with a mid gun progression
maps sucks as well, the game design obligates them to have unnatural focal points that are used once for quests and then forgotten, like disposable junk food, also quite ugly looking with low quality textures
I mean, I don't think the difficulty of the combat is so much about the mechanics since both CS and CoP treat the difficulty and accuracy of NPCs the same. I do get what you mean since I did found it the easiest of the 3 as I played it after finishing CS on Veteran and I played CoP on Master, so I did notice it was fairly easier even when I was taking more damage on Master.
Artifact hunting trivialises almost all of game in some way, in SoC we have the bug of the armor repair if damaged with a type you have over 100% protection and CS still has pretty "OP" artifacts for what utility they have. And even ignore that, selling them is a way to get everything in-game except the unique stuff.
I do agree with the artifacts in CoP feeling pretty disappointing tho, I went with armors with almost no slots bc I barely used them.
But those complains don't really mean it wasn't refined mechanically, as well the most stable and the most bug free of the bunch from what I experienced. Whether those changes are right or not, I didn't mention it bc that's more so personal taste bc not everyone cares.

I've seen a version that has the HP and Stamina bars from STALKER 2.

basically, LA originally has a really goofy storyline with a lot of backtracking, the more modern a version of LA is, the more seriously it takes itself, and the less goofy stuff it has, which loses the point
I was playing LA for the goofy fun stuff, so removing it and turning it generic is making it worse
lost alpha have few versions, the original 1.3, the dc 1.4 and the enhanced edition made by other people (basically lost alpha but harder and guns)

@eager fossil the .ltx files still do not work even with new Workshop uploader. The problem was never in .pak limitations, you could pack configs normally, they're just not loaded by the game engine (and still aren't).

X-Ray cannot handle garbage collection well. Its regression testing is very poor. Its in general quite crappy.

That’s not a problem lol, garbage collection is a very performance intensive process. My actual job relied on reusing as much memory and allocating as few managed objects as possible.

Just FYI no good C++ engine has garbage collection built in, even Unreal one’s is limited to checking references to actor-derived classes in particular, anything else you forget to free the memory of is a memory leak.
Garbage Collection is only an expected behaviour for languages like Java or C# and engines built off them.
And even there it’s a plague, not a feature. Any good developer knows it should be avoided at all costs.
In terms of memory management X-Ray is actually really well written and optimized.
It’s a feature only in a sense that it speeds up development time at the cost of performance.

Not sure if this is the right channel, but when should I start thinking about the factions in vanilla Shadow Of Chornobyl? So far I’ve basically just stolen a gun for Duty.
You're free to do whatever you want, you can be enemies with everyone for all the game cares. It's still gonna work out.
I heard that apparently they start fighting later in the game though, right? I wanna know if I can influence that war in any way, and if so what the consequences would be. My current quest is Turn Off The Brain Scorcher.
There is no overarching war that you can influence, more a few smaller scenes that result in either faction controlling a certain small area of the map.
Alright, and what if I don’t do anything? Do they just fight anyways and go along with their story without me?
Duty has better fashion but I kinda vibe with Freedom’s line of thinking more. And I don’t want to anger the bar.
Basically, I wanna know what actions makes which faction more prevalent, and what the consequences of those actions are for either faction.
There are no long term consequences apart from getting hostile with either faction which you can’t go back from

There isn’t a fight that never ends. There are a few scripted scenes later in the game where they fight. What you do know doesn’t influence those, they will happen whether you take a side or not.
There is also a quest line where you pick a side at army warehouses but it has no long term consequences

Only freedom can get hostile if you side with duty. Siding with freedom can be done without hostility. And yes, it doesn’t affect anything else later in the game.
I don’t want to spoil you everything that’s going to happen in later locations but yeah what you do now is pretty much just that.
Alright, I probably wont do quests for either faction any more in this playthrough then, maybe in another playthrough though.

If you warn Freedom about them and they are defeated, you benefit
by getting access to the Freedom Trader and 1/5 of additional jobs in the game.
If you side with the renegade Duty and they kill the Freedom leader and Trader,
you not only lose access to all those jobs, but you lose 1 of the 5 Traders in the game.
The Freedom Trader sells weapons, ammo and armors, some items ONLY sold by them.
While those are only sold by Skinflint, they can be acquired by other means. There are at least 4 places where you can find either Freedom suit, the weapons and ammo you can easily get off respawning NPCs.
There are many Freedom armors, so just saying the Freedom suit is too vague.
Most players don't stay in the game long enough to farm rare ammo from NPCs.
If you want to get the Freedom Exoskeleton, Skinflint is your man if you have the money.
These are most all the free armors in the game with one or two exceptions.
Which is why I said “either” freedom suit. You can find both the Guardian of Freedom and Wind of Freedom in multitudes.

None of the Exoskeletons are included yet.
I mean, exoskeleton is not even a unique item. You can buy them off Barkeep. 33% more expensive, sure, but nowhere near a unique item.
Exoskeletons are unique if you can only get them from a Trader.
However, without spoiling it for Rebecca, you and I both know
about that special stash activation, you get in Yantar that
gives you one, so you don't have to waste your money.
Unless you just really dig the Freedom yellow Exo.
However, I probably shouldn't use the term "unique", since most people
exclusively use that term for weapons and armors that have the green arrow.
I should say exclusive, I guess. Here's all the unique weapons that can be found
in the game. These armors and weapons shown are PRIOR to entering Pripyat.
On top of those that you already have in your stash, you could also get multiple instances of Tunder 5.45, as anything that’s sold by a trader is effectively sold in unlimited quality as it’s restocked (with the exception of Clear Sky’s Hermit).
But yeah the green arrow is never an indicator of there being only one instance of that in the game. Not to mention some stuff that is not green-arrowed is limited in quality, such as Martha (that most players can only get one instance of).
Oh yeah, it doesn't include the Tunder 5.45 you can buy from Sidorovich.
I don't like that gun and won't spend the money early to get it. However
I have a friend in Spain that loves it and will carry it in the entire game.
The green arrow is for unique items, despite if there is one or two of them.
Likewise the unique VLA as a reward, can be gotten endlessly if you know how.

I did experience two calendar glitches. I think GSC failed to include December 31st,
so you went from Dec 30 to Jan 1. The other glitch I think corrected itself after March.

GSC never expected anyone to be playing past December 2012.
Once you get into 2013, the calendar starts fucking up but corrects itself later.

The tools are released, the issue is still here. It's not about being unable to pack the files - the files are packed succesfully but ignored by the engine and not loaded. The tools did not do anything to address the problem, unfortunately.

The engine is not reading .ltx files from configs even when those are correctly packed into .pack files. It is currently correctly reading scripts and .xml configuration files (such as character profiles, encyclopedia entries, UI positioning and texture descriptions), but completely ignoring .ltx (so you can’t even do as much as change carry weight in a mod).
It is most certainly not intended behaviour because it makes very little sense — you can modify the game’s scripts directly, but not the values that they read? There is no potential security vulnerability, this just seems like an oversight.
The new Workshop steam guide even mentions configs changes, and so do fan content creation guidelines — the only actual exception for modding they list for PC mods is the engine.
Currently mod authors resort to leaving installation instructions in mod description to copy the mod .pack file into the game folder and rename the extension to .dbX, and then the mod works correctly. So it’s not an issue with the tools

It is generally considered ideal to play any of the games without any mods first.
Otherwise, how are you going to know the difference between what is in the game,
and what you added or changed with your Mod? The Stalker games are about hardship,
so it is expected for you to die many times. Make plenty of manual saves as you progress.
Out of the box is fine, modding is for later playthroughs.

Clear sky depends on how much of a glutton for punishment you are, CoP you can go for veteran
I would say I don’t mind a challenge but nothing too hard.
You will hate CS if you will play it on veteran for the first time, especially the last few hours.
I have a question about playing on Xbox One. I recently purchased it on my main account and chose to install SoC from the trilogy by itself. I let the game install with hotspot but I can’t seem to get it started as it tells me I need to make it my home Xbox.

I think I know what is the problem. Your settings may have been changed to keyboard and mouse instead of controller. This happened to me with Clear Sky and I had to plug in a usb mouse and then changed the setting in the options menu back to controller, saved the settings and it has worked fine.

I datamined the new EE patches for changes not mentioned in the changelog:
- Removed Main Menu ads.
- Updated EULA.
- Fixed Ukrainian texts not having uppercase "i" properly displaying with Graffiti font.
- Fixed Polish texts calling Kora-919 a Kora-920 (pre-LotZ it was a CoP-only thing, then LotZ and EE copied CoP changes into CS & SoC for polish loc, now they finally reversed it to be consistent with original text).
- Fixed CoP bars displaying wrong.
- Fixed SoC not properly putting crash logs into .log file when asserting.
- Made FSR not compatible with some AA options.

You'll find random weapons and supplies everywhere.
I always wondered how a hybrid approach would work. Like you can find stashes randomly but it’s mostly going to be junk, but whenever you have coordinates, you find actually cool loot.
So that both exploration is rewarded (like in CoP) but you can’t cheese the coolest stashes (like in SoC / CS)
S2 kinda went with the worst approach possible where it’s junk whether you have coordinates a lot (ignoring pre-placed loot, just talking about stashes here)

Clear Sky has the "most limited" A-Life, which also it's the most ambitious A-Life of the Trilogy, the online A-Life is too good.

Dear team, I have a question. I completed the trilogy on PS4 with all trophies. If I now transfer my saves from the PS4 version to the new PS5 version, will it automatically unlock the cross-trophies, or is a full replay required?
There is progress_data.ltx stored among saves on PC, so there is local storage of game's achievement progress if that's of any consolation.
So I say your chances are pretty good that it will. Unless Mataboo/FL specifically coded the game to transfer just the saves and not the progress data.

I tried now and yes, I was able to transfer my PS4 data to my PS5 and autounlock the trophies. I don't have my platinum save anymore, but I got the trophies of my recent rerun
Now that I notice, some trophies I autounlocked don't seem to be from my latest run. Still, if You have platinum trophy, it should pop, or at least game will require You to play last section to unlock ending trophy and then make platinum pop

@proud badge there are lots of EE-new bugs that were not present in original releases, not just the one you mentioned. A quick list off the top of my head:
- The sound occlusion is totally broken. You hear arena fight sounds when you’re walking through Bar. OG correctly set up areas where sounds should be cut off, that feature is just broken in EE.
- You are unable to do long grenade throws because pressing RMB also just throws it instantly.
- In all three games, dropping the selected item in the inventory through the hotkey will drop your weapon as well.
- Many NPCs have wrong destinations such as Leshiy ending up on Barrier instead of guarding the freedom base.
- The bolt and knife animations are playing with incorrect speeds. Affects only Shadow of Chornobyl.
- In SoC, the icons near protection and restoration types do not display.
- In SoC, the compass icon displays incorrectly, being stretched.
- NPCs no longer shoot in bursts in SoC, which results in them emptying the entire mag back-to-back before reloading, including if they’re using sniper rifles.
- In CS, all guides can lead to the same point they’re currently positioned on.
- The same stash in Clear Sky can be repurchased an infinite amount of times, which leads to the player acquiring additional copies of quest items that cannot be given to mechanics.
- Some stash coordinates are only available for purchase after save reload (CS).
- NPCs will give you stash markers to the stashes you already received.
- You can exit any dialogue with a gamepad, including those where you are scripted not to be able to, which leads to softlocks if you happen to press Start at the wrong time.
- Test quests without rewards can occasionally be given by squad commanders.
- Completing Lefty’s quest as a bandit and then leaving Yantar will result in all loners ignoring your attacks.
- In CS, you can get softlocked on Red Forest bridge if Lebedev doesn’t talk to Leshiy as you will not be able to progress to Lymansk.
- In CS, during the quest to kill psy dog you are not going to have any main quest at all.
- In CoP, the bars for weapon values on inventory hover display incorrectly, being horizontally stretched and blurred.
- In CoP, attacking Skadovsk during “Finding Magpie” quest will fail it.
And let's be honest, the edition is not getting fixed after just those three issues getting addressed. There's a whole layer of gameplay downgrades. It will take months at best.
I’m aware of most of these bugs, and I know even more. The thing is, this re-release was developed by the Poles. They don’t understand why they changed a bunch of aspects of the game, breaking or adding things that shouldn’t be there. The only things the trilogy needed were new graphics, optimization, full Ukrainian and English localization, bug fixes, and the addition of simple features that don’t heavily impact gameplay—like changing the localization in the game, not just in the Steam menu.

Also, there was no need to create the "SR" currency; they should have made the currency dynamic, depending on the language. The game should be adapted to the player, not the other way around.
I do not care about SR that much (but it does sound weird in the dialogues where they use the abbreviation now), what bothers me is mostly HUD downgrades, new bugs and controverisal gameplay edits. With currency I am surprised they did not just use hryvnias which would make more sense if they are already changing the currency. The whole "lore" part of why the Zone uses soviet rubles was gone by release anyway.
Anyway, the EE is a mess and I think everyone agrees on that. But they're within their power to make it better and they already did make some good changes (even if those are coming really slowly). I especially appreciated main menu ads being gone.
I don't know why they didn't do it, maybe they didn't want arguments about "Stalker being a russian game" (though that's not true).
First and foremost, they need to fix the bugs. Though there are so many of them, it might actually be easier to take the modified engine they made and start the remaster from scratch.
I agree the bugs are important, but if the same issues existed in OG it doesn't bother me much. What does bother me is when EE is worse in some areas. It doesn't need to be perfect, but it needs to not have downgrades, so fixing bugs that appeared in EE specifically is really important.

Yeah that one has a reward but it’s bugged in a different way, return item quests are meant to be requesting a unique item and be completed once, since this one is repeatable it prevents others from being taken.
Question. I've played the original trilogy ages ago, and lastbyear I enjoyed Gamma.
Now Inread that with the release of EE, the Xengine had a rather big update: 64bit, dx12 and multicore support. Is it noticeable and would something like Gamma benefit from the EE engine update? Sorry if asked before, I'm early and late te the game, lol.

EE engine is closed source. You cannot modify it, and thus cannot use it in large mods.
That said, the engine used in standalone mods is most likely already x64 and multithreaded.

Just checked, it's in CS and CoP but not SoC. This is the same behaviour as OG.
Is there a chance you can bring it to SoC too? Because normally, in SoC you would use rs_stats 1 for checking where you camera is, but in EE it's not working properly. So having a demo_set_cam_position backported would help immensely.

they have fixed low resolution issue, finally
from a little datamining, stuff not in the changelog:
- Removed test quests that appeared in 1.1.1. Now they are no longer given by any squad.
- Fixed CS-1 and CS-3a item names being swapped in localizations other than RU/UA (introduced new issue where descriptions are now swapped, see #📸┃trilogy-screenshots message)
- Fixed Ghost recording in English in SoC repeating the last line twice.
- Fixed AS-96/2 16:9 alignment issues.
@eager fossil are shader sources going to be updated? They're still from patch 1.1, which means any mod modifying the shader will recompile those without the additions of the latest patch.

Stability:
- (EE-specific bug) Map image creation (activates with
F11) works fine in CS & CoP, but **crashes the game **in SoC. - (OG bug) Trying to use
demo_recordwhile in main menu crashes the game. - (OG bug) Trying to use
demo_recordwhile in pause menu softlocks the game as you are unable to both quit pause and quit demo_record.
Missing functionality:
- (EE-specific bug) Cubemap creation (activates with
Backspace) is broken. In original games, it worked fine on DX9 but did not work on DX10 and DX11. Since the EE only supports DX12, it's now never working correctly. The screenshots are just not created. - (EE-specific bug) The hint showing the control for the
demo_recordand current keyframe count is never displayed. In OG SoC, it used to display when you enable the command, while in OG CS & CoP it used to display when you pressed F1. In EE it never displays, in any of the games, in either scenario. My guess is that something in general is broken with ANY debug text drawn on the screen, as similar commands (rs_stats 1,rs_cam_pos 1) do not display anything as well in EE. - (EE-specific bug) No information about the commands usage (such as FPS stats after
demo_play). This is general EE bug with ALL console commands, it doesn't affect justdemo_record.
Other:
- (OG bug) In frozen camera mod (activated with
num pad *) the keyboard controls are returned, but the mouse controls are not. This means you cannot shoot/aim unless you rebind the keys. - (OG bug) In frozen camera mod (activated with
num pad *), jumping works inconsistently. Sometimes you are able to jump once but not again. - (OG bug) The UI hiding during screenshot when pressing
F12is inconsistent - it works only sometimes. - (EE-specific bug) Trying to play a demo with 0 keyframes (via making a demo without pressing space once, and then playing it) makes the screen flash. In OG, it just displayed blackscreen for half a second. Either return that behaviour or make it do nothing at all, flashing is absolutely a bug.
Also those are not bugs, but it would be nice to backport CS/CoP demo_record features back to SoC, such as the hint showing only when F1 is pressed instead of at all times, the entire camera freeze functionality, high-quality map creation with Ctrl+F11, and demo_set_cam_position command.

@eager fossil I noticed that in patch 1.2 you reversed the EE weapon inertia changes, but only for three weapons and only in CoP. Was it done accidentally or do you intend to reverse them on other weapons as well?
If you're not aware of what I am talking about, control_inertion_factor has been set to 1.0 in EE, which means that all weapons now rotate the same, no "heavier" weapons exist any longer and the entire mechanic of weapon handling is basically mostly gone.
In 1.2, you set control_inertion_factor of three weapons in CoP back to their pre-EE values: those are AKM-74/2, Obokan and SA Avalanche. All other weapons in CoP as well as any weapons in SoC/CS are unaffected.
Coincidentally, those are the three weapons with adjusted 16:9 position. So if this was a fix borrowed from some mod made for OG games, the changes may be accidental.
Or you started bringing back OG mechanics but have only done it for three weapons in one game... for some reason?

If you play on a game from previous patch, the squads that already got those quests (eg by you asking them) will retain them.
No new squads will get those quests, and obviously new game fixes it completely.

There are upgrades that affect it too, in original release they served as a way to minimize the effect on weapons that have it too bad, in EE it makes those weapons move even faster.
Why not restore it as well on consoles? LotZ existed for over a year and I haven’t seen anyone complaining. It’s a big mechanic, without it all weapons have the same handling stat in CS.

There is no definite answer on which weapon or suit is the best, it all comes down to your playstyle.
I guess I want both anomaly and combat protection while being able to carry a bit more weight.
I'd say Exoskeleton if you plan to take on enemies head-on and shoot your way out of most encounters. Do note the Exoskeleton can only be fully upgraded and get the sprinting ability after you get to Pripyat.
It has decent anomaly protection and can have 4 artifact slots once fully upgraded.
How long do I have to wait for my faction to attack a point in Clear Sky?
I have 2 of the target areas cleared and none of the duty squads are targetting the area
There are some bugs leftover which results in the faction never coming.
A good habit is to only attack when you see a squad already moving to that point instead of clearing the point by yourself.

In faction war, everything works fine, but there are "problems": NPCs who go to a point to capture it leave their base, they go in real time through a-life, but while they are going they may encounter enemies, mutants, anomalies, and the path itself is long.
Well the issue I'm having is that none of the Duty squads are targetting the area needed for faction war.
There are plenty of Duty squads on unimportant areas near it and none of them are going to the target area in Garbage.
Units that go to a point leave from the base, random units are not involved in this, they have their own smart, but if a unit does not have its own smart, they will go there to occupy it

I usually rush the SEVA, fully upgrade it, and when reaching the endgame (let’s call it “the last map”, to not spoil you), I go for the exoskeleton
You’ll get a lot of cash throughout your game, no worries regarding being able to afford both
It’s been a while but my usual path was random armor until I can catch a “blue and white one” (trying hard not to spoil you lol), which will carry me until I’m rich enough to get the SEVA and upgrade it, and then I go for the exoskeleton for the last stretch

About to finish a EE playthrough, collecting all achievements along the path, I’m about to manage friendship with everyone except renegades, I keep backstabbing Duty and Freedom over and over again, the loot is crazy … and rep is building up gently, one last backstab and I’m good, 5 factions out of 5 lol

i remember going on killing sprees all throughout freedom territories while hauling around dead bodies filled to the brim with equipment
It was pretty easy to get rich. Just do quests for faction memebers and gain rep, sell arties, in no time you could have high end armor and fully upgraded vintar

Kolobok isn't a unique artifact so I think it'll spawn again in chemical anomalies. There's 1 near the scientist bunker in Jupiter.

The problem is that only a very small number of switch 2 dev kits have been sent to the various studios. GSC is not answering most probably because they are still waiting for the hardware. There are many studios still waiting and they cannot even start working on updates until they receive the hardware. Nintendo has been very frustrating as usual😂
Then they're free to provide this as an answer. There's no reason for being silent.

Eh, the channel is mainly for clarifications on something they already announced, patch dates and tech support. Everything else is something they will do a post for, not announce indirectly through answering someone’s question. It makes sense.

Hi, I have problem with Detectortive achievement (Find at least one artifact with the help of each detector). Even after trying few times in different locations i still cant complete this achievement, any clues why it isnt counted already ?

every, like i just bought every one of them, then just take one of them, left the rest in chest, than go to one anomaly and take artifact.

And yeah the porting of ZRP is a tough process, its codebase is a mess because it does lots of workarounds to support old saves even from versions pre-1.0006.

Ok, 2 sprints and 5-6 devs, 1 QA... It's still a very quick and straightforward goal that would benefit the game and company by a ton, bring a lot of people to the game, create a great media and reviews. I wouldn't mention it if there was absolutely no effort for the old games, but since they are continuing to work on EE - why not? It just feels sad for the game and the jank rep it has that overshadows the amazing things in it, but worse is when the studio doesn't care about that...
I'm not asking about porting the whole thing, on the contrary - picking the easiest fixes and checking if they could be adopted (not just blindly copied). Things like spawn points by campfires (NPCs dying as a result), quest bugs, broken event triggers, empty stashes, "bread", Prypyat stadium teleport, or like you've noted yourself - Freedom trader money limit, etc. These are very small, quick and specific tasks on their own and could be easily addressed... If there is a will.
Prypiat stadium teleport is already fixed in EE.
Empty stashes is actually an engine an issue, and ZRP fixes it through a very nasty workaround. That's ok for a mod that cannot touch the engine, that's not ok for professional developers. GSC is aware of the issue as they said and are looking for a way to fix it.
"bread" and spawn points by campfires are, as far as I am concerned, all.spawn fixes, so they will break savegame compatibility. Unless you do it through another bunch of nasty workarounds like ZRP does.
But I agree that the fixes that can be done without workarounds and those that do not break savegame compatibility should be ported.
I don't think that issues that could break game saves shouldn't be made because of the above-mentioned consequence. At least those could be grouped and released together so that's a one time thing. A painful medicine, but then I doubt there are too many people that would be upset about it. Games are short and the positives from fixes will be way better than negative from lost saves.
Some people have hundreds of hours in their saves. Losing those will be far more consequential than finding a few less dead bodies in campfires.
But that’s beside the point. Save-breaking fixes are very rare. GSC could still port 99% of other fixes from all the mods, engine forks, etc. that won’t break the saves.
I don't care if I lose my saves after the patch. In long term perspective it will be better than leaving all these bugs for community to fix. I don't think Decane would bother to redo all his work for new SRP 2.0. Anyways, there a lot of bugs in configs for them to fix that don't require significant efforts to correct and test the results. They should start from this. I hope I reported enough bugs to make the next patch large-scale in terms of changes. If only the fixed at least half of the things I showed them.

I have made a huuuuuge report with all the console issues. Broken commands, broken scrolling, crashes, softlocks, all that kind of stuff. Haven't seen anything patched from the list, and it's been over 2 months now.
Sometimes I feel like tech support really only exists to advise people to turn it off and then back on again. Or act on issues that tens of thousands of people have.
No, I think they know about that. Mostly mistakes in configs and scripts, and some gameplay bugs as well. Guess I'll make a list. They accept only one appeal at a time. Also they ask saves or vids if it's gameplay bug. Had to run from novice village to army warehouses to show them a bug with the counter of dutyers that restarts if you kill some dutyers, save and load. It's all pretty tiresome.

Oh yeah that's horrendous. I messaged support in May asking to be able to use subtitles. The feature IS already there, but it's hardcoded to your text language, so if you set it to anything other than English, Japanese, Korean or Chinese, you're not getting any subtitles. Even though the text is there.
It's a very simple feature request. Remove hardcoded language dependancy, add an extra checkbox in options to enable and disable subtitles if you want, regardless of which language you play on.
The response from support was asking for logs, dxdiag and save files... lmfao

Here's the list of the bugs and typos i've reported so far:
SoC
- Unfinished PSZ-7 armor on the roof of military barracks. Told them to take missing icons and description from build 2212, but i've doubt they will fix this armor, probably it will be removed.
- "bread" in Dark Valley.
- All blue crates at the bandit base being impossible to search.
- guitar and hand_radio not having proper names and description. And icon, in the case of hand_radio.
- Newbies sitting in hideouts even when merc attack is over.
- Dutyers in DV having informational dialogue about Cordon. Some monolith npcs also have this dialogue, but they are hostile so it doesn't matter much. I doubt they are perfectionists, but who knows.
- Possibility to join Freedom if player defends barrier first. Also money rewards in this case are different.
- Broken Dead duty counter in army warehouses, that restarts when player kills Skull's dutyers with saving and loading between kills.
- Monolith experts in exo not having ammo for main weapon in their profiles in character_desc_military.xml
- Skinflint not having infinite money like other traders. They told me it's not bug, but feature, because his name is Skinflint, he doesn't like to spend money. I'm not joking.
- One of autoquests on Cordon not working because of a typo in task_manager.ltx
- One of the stash coordinates being impossible to get because of missing symbol "=" in treasure_escape.ltx
- Prapor not paying Marked one for helping with boars even when in dialogue he says "here's your reward for helping us to deal with boars". - Didn't give them saves for this one, so they probably closed this request.
- 5.45 and 5.56 AP rounds dealing same damage as standard rounds. Armor piercing in SoC works only in multiplayer, in single game AP rounds should just deal more damage, but in this case they do not.
- SPAS-12 and Wincheaster barrels aiming higher than needed. Some ppl play without crosshairs.
