Because Iirc, back the 1.0, at the entrance to Wild Island, there are actually beeping sounds that warn you about the bombs if you stand too close to them,the closer you are the louder they are.

Hmmm if you can reach Rostok (after getting the key to leave the Lesser Zone), you can do the Arena until stage 4 and get a Dnipro (by doing the trick of winning the fight then dropping the rifle by the door, taking your stuff back, then picking back the rifle so the arena dude doesn't take it away) and you can find a Freedom SEVA in the trainyard, in the irradiated scaffolding (in the cabin at the top; you'll need radiation meds or vodka)

those two can carry you almost to the end and you can get fairly early

Regardless of what scoped rifle you may change to as you progress,
a shotgun for mutants and a Viper for close quarters is best to carry too.

Kharods you'll find a lot in mercenaries, but Dnipros tend to be rare until fairly late, unless they fixed the vendors in a patch

like, I saw Dnipros in Yaniv, but I dunno if that's the base game or OXA (in my first playthrough, the first Dnipros outside the arena were either in the cooling towers or in the Red Forest, with the Cooling Towers one being the easiest to find -- otherwise, it was an end-game drop)

I don’t really count the poltergeist at the end of agroprom in CS as “fighting” because technically the game wants you to run

I guess you could consider the monolith on the spiral stairs as a replacement for the poltergeist but you actually aren’t even supposed to go that way

Kinda wish there was an alternate ending to the agroprom section in S2, because if you try to exit the OG way, you’ll reach a dead end because the ladder is broken, when you properly exit you get ambushed by the faction you didn’t side with. But like, how did they know skif was going to exit in that specific way? Did they destroy the OG ladder? How would they know where Skif would exit from? Would’ve been cool if the spiral stairs leading to the ladder was extra tough to get through, actively encouraging the player to go another way, but if they successfully fight up the stairs, they can climb the ladder and take an exit where skif wouldn’t get ambushed.

After visiting and finding Duty a few times, I found it occupied by Freedom.
Freedom was there a few times but the next visit I was ambushed by Mercenaries.
My point being, if you go some location once or even twice, you're not seeing the big picture.

Yeah but it’s get boring real quick for me at least. There is a game called Ellite Dangerous, it’s very sophisticated game with insane simulation going at the background where player is just… Exist or don’t, world moving on without. There is different factions and factions wars, multiple stations blow up and you can do all kinds of stuff, from evac civilians to participating in wars. Also another game called space rangers 1 and 2. God that game is insane.

In stalker there would’ve been nice if multiple factions would’ve fight for outpost. For example if duty hold control of an outpost, technician would get -35% off for a player, if Freedom, you can sell for 25% more and get a discount with merchants. Player could participate and assist one or another faction to see which benefits proffered. What type of missions, maybe a little sabotage to one faction without ruining reputation with another. Hire goons to help player out? Personal assistant who would cart all of your loot? But instead it’s kind of basic in Stalker 2

This is another advantage to exploring the Lesser Zone fully, the time spent gives you more activations.

I'm just saying the average Player does all the main missions and sees about
20% of what is there in the game. Repeated playthroughs, to see the other
endings are usually even quicker. There is so much more to the game unseen.

Oh there is also a store in Pripyat near Енергетик where there would always monolith spawn, duty and even regular military guys that usually present in some outposts. Every single time I go, kill monolith, help out, leave do what I need, return and there it is again, monolith but fighting someone else. Very annoying

many Faction side-jobs disappear or are no longer available in the game.

So the need to explore and doing early zones missions becomes redundant very quick

Has anyone else encountered a bug with NPC's (both stalkers and mutants such as poltergeist) shoot/hit you through walls or any object?

He's not a Stalker per se, he's just a guy who wanted answers and reparations for his destroyed home

Im not saying the story is bad, I am saying it is implemented in a bad way. Maybe I would have cared if the red thread would have been easier to follow but now when so much of the game is "Go there, push button, get info, kill this or that guy" but I have no idea why I am doing these things other than crossing them out from a list. There are too many names and factions for me to keep up. That is why the main plot line could have just been skipped. My enjoyment has been in the exploration of the zone, the main quest was mostly a shore that needs to be done.

It can be my memory that is ruining my experience of the story. Whenever an NPC is talking about another NPC I have a hard time remembering who it is without seeing the face. This has led to many holes in the plot from the very beginning of the story which all have just escalated with bigger and bigger holes. But see this is the first game I have had that experience, forgetting the characters that is. In similar games it has not happened, except for Clear Skies 20ish years ago.
