I had an interesting experience with a life type stuff yesterday. I was in Malachite and just happened to quicksave ~100m from a group of burned out BTRs (outside my LOS at time of save). As i approached them ~15 or so npcs were fighting each other (about half and half of Malachite guys and bandits), and i ended up dying. I reloaded my quicksave and the second time i approached no one was there or anywhere nearby, why does that happen? Ive had similar experiences with reloading saves and "events" simply disappear

I actually feel like Reforger's system could work quite well as long as it was implemented properly with respect to performance. Outside 100m or whatever "render bubble" from the player NPCs are "frozen" (i.e not rendered) and their "actions" are 100% simulated and "on paper". As soon as their "paper" location is inside the players render bubble they spawn in the world and continue their "on paper" actions physically

and if the player rans out of paper, all npc becomes friendly

So if you have 2 groups "fighting" 600m from the player, they will always appear in the world fighting each other when the player is nearby. until one side wins or retreats, whether "on paper" or in the render bubble where the player can witness
