My go to was low-tier artifacts that increased my carry weight and rad resistance so I could actually use them. Its a bit of a slog finding the right ones but once you can get liquid rock or lead containers youre set

The best strategy ive found against them is to wait for the high pitched whine that means theyre about to pop then immediately turn 180° and take a few steps, you also cant stop moving for more than a second or two anywhere they can spawn

Good choices, whole metro series regardless of what people say, is a great series. Book is good, and the 1979 movie of stalker is also great, although its a mega slow burn and confusing at a lot of points unless you have knowledge of the games and book.

7 & 8 are great but take on a new protagonist and expands the lore and universe quite a bit
