Ue5 came out in 2022, the game was remade in late 2022. They could've used UE4 which had 6 years of documentation to follow and most recent version from 2021 and the game would've looked just as beautiful and they could've worked more with tinkering under the hood for things that needed to be fixed.

The problem with that is the pod then doesn't work anymore.

The Heart is a psionic amplifier which allows the person to project mutiples of their own power...without the Heart, a single person entering the pod would only be able to affect it minimally (which is why the ending cut-scenes don't make sense without the Heart).

Which is also why it can be assumed that Skif installed the Heart after looting it from Strelok in X7.
