Hi guys. I just started playing this week and I'm happy so far but I can't help but notice that no matter what graphics settings I turn down or off, I cannot remove the foliage ghosting in the distance. It seems to go away when I scope in but otherwise it's always apparent. Disabling Frame Gen makes no difference, neither does running native res, or TSR 100%. I'm on a 4070 with very new drivers (but not the latest) and I've downloaded an optimisation mod which claims to fix it. Is this apparent for most people or everyone and does anybody know if the Devs are aware and if they even have a way to fix it? Otherwise I've got no complaints for the game in general, just this little thing that bugs me when I notice it. Thanks a lot.

there are a few things you could do which might help, if you run a nvidia card make sure to force the latest preset and dlls within the nvidia app

you can use github apps like DLSSTweaks and enable something like auto-exposure, or use a mod like Ultra Plus which has its own custom version

Some games dont allow you to update all the dlls within the NVIDIA app, I can't remember if stalker is one of those (I uninstalled it lol)

If so, you can download NVPI-Revamped from Github and that will allow you to do it anyway

I have to admit that I'm a little bit worried related to Ultimate retail version. I bought it already during the first wave from the site which was the only option for my country (suggested by devs). In the endm, the site cancelled my order because they didn't get so many ultimate edition than they predict (game price jumped a little bit earlier and I paid it already so...) I got my money back, but I really wanted that ultimate edition. 😕

Now, I paid that ultimate edition again when I heard that second wave is coming and of course I had to choose the same site again. Because of delay, I'm quite worried that they will cancel my order again at some point because of some reason and I won't get my collector's edition. That sucks because I have tried to get it so bad. I'm still glad thought that I still have to change to play the game. At least I got the game code. 😅

Ok so with the latest patch, you can still get into Malachite STC through either the guide or the secret entrance after a certain mission, one of the big gates will be guarded by the zone cops and they will attack you on sight, however the 2 that supposed to guard the doors won't attack you.(You can't talk to them however)

Your unable to save him. As you fi ish off the mutants and inspect the fallen, you recognise him. Another lost to the zone, but the memory of your brief encounters with him made this journey much more memorable.

Not to mention the loot he had on him all the more meaningful.

A life was a persistant feature of the games AI were many npcs would be tracked continuously throughout the game. Both human and mutant npcs would have there own "artificial life" where they would never be in the same place twice unless essential for quests etc. They have there own unfixed routines.

Compared to stalker 2 that just soughta spawns people in 100 metres away at random, and spawns enemies together at random in very "same same" encounters

Personally ida much rathered Stalker 2 be closed maps like the old games, perhaps with less visual enhancements just to have that kinda gameplay present.

But as it stands the game has terrible performance and basically no A life

months after release, the starting town still gets wiped by emmissions for me cause the npcs are dumb as rocks.

The game barely runs 60 on performance mode in empty areas on a series x playing stalker, when im playing kcd2 though the game is amazing and feature full with lifelike ai with there own routines, advanced combat ai, yet still consistant in performance and relatively bug free considering the size and scope.

So the problems much greater then npc behaviour bogging down hardware.

If it lacks so much of the older games features just for grainy semi realistic graphics that mean you need to toss a few grand away on a computer just for 60fps
