the first image shows side activity available that say "barkeep" but when i go near the location it is the weird anomaly thing in the second image. Anyone know whats up with that?

How the heck do you kill Poltergeist anomaly?? The ones that just throw random objects at you and sometimes cause elemental anomaly to spawn on you
They're invisible mutants, not anomalies. Just find them and shotgun them to death. Regular Poltergeists don's spawn anomalies, but they throw up a wall of stones as a shield if you attack them. The elemental ones (electro, fire, gas) don't have the shield, but spawn anomalies. The electrogeist is the most dangerous because of how much damage the electro anomalies do. The elemental ones are easier to spot than the regular though.

I haven't actually finished the game. Right around this mission my game crashed because of network issues (GFN moment lol) and lost all of my save. Truly a tragic moment.
Why has it affected your mental health though? I think that's a sign of needed break.

I've seen that one, it looks like a very angry spitting ball of fire, making weird noises. Basically a regular poltergeists but instead of looking like a cloud flying around, it's fire.
If it's a fire poltergeist it will appear as a floating ball of fire. When you kill it you get to see what it actually looks like.
I ended up having to start all the way from the beginning. Currently almost done with my game, although I am not yet at Subtle Matter. Hopefully I finish soon, want to see the ending for my game.

Stalker, I don't think I want to play it at vet. My current goal is speed run up to that point where I lost my save as soon as possible.

So there is a glitch where gaffer gives unlimited 1000 credits for a mission. I abused it and got 16million credits!

Did the mission count as complete?
It’s a mutant, they’re invisible but have a visual light effect where they are, colour signifies what type. The mutants are blind and rely on like sound and movement and if they don’t know exactly where you are and you’re sitting still, they won’t throw the objects at you. You kill them like any other, cast Gun on them lol.
It did count as complete, and I got a gun. Just no money because that one side mission thing failed lol.
That’s unfortunate. I did the glitch around 50 days ago. You could try to load up an save before completing it

Yeah that is the one. I went up there to kill the debtors for the barkeep but I couldn’t find any invisible mutant to shoot. Idk what to really look for though. I just kept trying to shoot the objects it was about to throw at me bc that’s all I could see
I mean I’m on my 2nd playthrough and I used console commands to get a couple weapons early so I can enjoy them the whole game, not worse than that

How do you even execute commands on stalker?
Like you can go into the building from a doorway on the left or the right, then the right leads into a room with stairs. Then you pass through the corridor and turn right at the end into a room with machines in. There’s a ladder and it’s up there.
How do you make mods for stalker2?, i know like modding other games like minecraft and stuff.
In my message earlier i explained it as a ball of light in a way. Not necessarily round but you will know when you see it. Especially if it’s a fire one as I remember.
simplest way is through vortex, install that and then you just go to the site and scroll through all the mods and it’ll install them for you
I’ve heard there may be a better mod manager but I’ve always used vortex

I swear I ran up into that building bc I already had to kill 5 or 6 guys that were hiding out in there. I cleared the entire broken brick building area even second story section. I got aggravated since the thing just kept launching stuff at me and lighting me on fire so I just ran lol I’ll try to go look for it again tomorrow. Is there any loot or reward for killing it?

If you somehow didn’t see it up there then it’s likely you already looted the bag up there. Other than a stash up there I don’t think there is anything from killing it. There basically never is. Mutant drops isn’t a thing in 2.
More so meant reward as in an achievement but I will just figure out how to kill it tomorrow and find out xD

I was using an upgraded Zircon suit with the Duty Sphere helmet, but I recently replaced it with the Wolfhound armor, since it has two shielded artifact slots.

I'm glad you said that. I just went back, pulled out the Zircon suit and realized one of the upgrade paths that I thought was either/or was actually letting me do it all > 2 shielded like you say. The only downside is the Wolfhound has better combat, but I can get Psi protection with the Duty Sphere helmet, that the Wolfhound lacks.
I'm so used to the other games and mods where it was one path or another. I also realized the Zircon suit now gives me 5 artifact slots. I also discovered I had a newly allowable upgrade on the Duty Sphere helmet of a 20% increase in physical protection. That means it now equals (just for the head) the Wolfhound armor. Having 5 artifact slots is the best. Thanks for mentioning it.
When I was playing Call of the Zone, I had enabled in the game code to choose any helmet with any Exo. I had a Bandit Exo with 5 artifact slots that weighed 10kg. I wore the Tactical helmet with the infrared scanner. The display was in the old style Mini-Map. I guess with the new Stalker 2 HUD, we won't see that upgrade for the Tactical helmet anymore.

do yall think gsc will ever add proper ultrawide support? having to play the game zoomed in or without any aimzoom at all because of mods breaking the aim zoom makes it no fun 😦

just dont use the mod lol or use a different one, also play using ultrawide and never had that issue lol
was always had been playing ultrawide (with flawless widescreen software), didn't aware of any issue related to fov changes (with native option, not mod)
There should be a guide on getting started modding on the stalker 2 nexusmods page, the gamma discord has basically the most active modding community for stalker 2 as well.

this game feels evil sometimes. i had just jumped into knee high water while being in red capacity so i am full on stuck until i have all my stamina to jump, and that is when the game spawns in 4 mercs.
Something to do with the way they're allocating resources for AI makes the game chug/produces leaks. I really hope it gets sorted next patch
Even A-life spawning in a group near you can nuke the FPS
Some might be fixed but I doubt it will be completely fixed

Yeah I'm a bit skeptical myself at this point, but that should be the number one focus with very little else coming into the equation

Well, he closes off the zone completely... Which means, monolith and everyone else, will run out of food and die of starvation...
Which ultimately means, that in years to come, the zone will be unguarded. With only mutants running wild. Streloks long term plan... Isn't exactly genius.

Apart from the fact that once the guards are gone, every tom, dick, and harry will be back in again, as monolith wont be around to stop them.

there is literally a thing that speeds up their healing seemingly only because they are brainwashed. the Regenerator, which we're told to get. so guess i wouldn't put it past the game to decide that they no longer need to eat.
do i think it's weird that they would not need to eat? yeah, they also usually carry a can of that meat with them, but my point is that at some point there is an NPC that talks about how they killed monolith and none of them "had any food on them" followed by him asking if they even need to eat

the line have been referencing was from Zalissya or something. can't remember if it was an important char or random dialogue with a survivor of any monolith attack when things have gone south.

Spitfire is 5.45, always has been. It has better range, fire rate and double penetration (40% instead of 20%) compared to the regular AKm-74U
Pretty much no reason to use it when you get it though

LOW LOWest. im playing on Windowed like.. 3rd smallest pixels i can play for Stalker, as for my Specs.. my CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor, Memory (RAM) 8GB (1 of 4 slots), GPU: NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
your pc doesnt meet the minimum requirements. the cpu is good enough but you dont have enough ram and the gpu is borderline. 8gb ram is insufficient for basically every modern game

2 hours and 24 minutes in real life playing the original games was equal to 24 hours or 1 Day in the Zone.

Re-load an earlier save and rush to pick it up, I had the same bug happen and that's what I did.

AN-94 is pretty old, I could see it being replaced by one of the modern AK variants but I certainly wouldn't complain if they did bring it back.
I wish we had canted sights; they'd be really useful on things like the VSS Vintorez and I think they would add to weapon versatility and player engagement during combat.
1: Fixes to mission triggers, I completed my ward run just fine, but hearing people being progression locked it's something that must be fixed.
2: Fixes to specific spawn triggers, both location specific (guards at IPSF checkpoints respawning too fast for example) and for scripted events, where they sometimes don't spawn at all.
3: Make in-game time move slower, like Tejas said.
4: Longer NPC draw distances, at least as an option. I'd sacrifice other graphics settings if it meant I could see enemies at 150-200m
5: Fix artifacts being stuck below terrain
6: Maybe some A-life improvements, though despite everyone complaining about it it's working decently now.
Controversial A-Life take: I don't think it would be the end of the world if GSC wasn't able to implement true NPC persistence in S2.
Thinking back to my playthroughs of the original trilogy, unless I was specifically paying attention, the NPC persistence really didn't matter that much in moment-to-moment gameplay. It only really added to the immersion if I actually noticed it and even then it was mostly just a "Whoa, that's cool." moment before I moved on.

Let me explain myself a bit more thoroughly:
When it comes to A-Life NPC persistence, I see it as being made up of two components:
-
The tracking of NPC's locations on the map and their current state/condition i.e. fighting, hunting mutants, artifact hunting, etc.
-
The tracking of NPC names and their loadout(s).
NPCs being properly tracked across the map and having locational persistence is extremely important and, in my opinion, a strict requirement for A-Life to be...well...A-Life.
However, that second component where NPC names and loadouts are persistent and tracked at all times, that is the component that I think could be safely dropped if it was too difficult or resource-intensive to implement in UE5.
that Tan 2x optic also actually has built in Irons on the top of it too lol.

If they can get every other aspect of A-Life and NPC behavior from the original trilogy into S2, that'll be more than enough for me.

In the original trilogy, you had two pseudodog mutants; pseudodogs and psy-dogs. Pseudodogs were just mutated wolves or something, while psy-dogs were the ones that could make copies of themselves.
For some reason, in S2 GSC removed/never implemented regular pseudodogs and gave the name to psy-dogs. They also removed the distinct, stark white fur of the psy-dogs and gave them the brown/black fur of regular pseudodogs.
I'm hoping that this will change in the future.

In Shadow of Chernobyl it mentions that one of their mutations was their sense of smell being massively amplified; they quite literally sniff you out.

According to the chart they both have 80 damage and 60% pen, whip has 55m range and 40m damage drop off, while regular SVU has 45m range and 35m damage drop off. Might be that the Whip has some range/dropoff upgrades already installed though.

for example theres a 416 with a sight and grip up at the brain scorcher tunnel and an upgraded fora and 870 in sircaa at some point

Seems to me they don't pick up guns dropped by the player, which is good because some times I leave guns on the ground if I'm not too far from my personal box and close to max weight, and then come back to pick them up.
I looked at the fat from stalker and realized how much it looks like a bobcat from my home town. Then remembered the eerie ass sounds they’d make in nature. It be cool if with the voice lines there be like intermediary lines where it distorts to that animal like sound. (Bobcats can sound like a woman screaming at times btw)

it requires out of the box thinking to give the player the impression they have proper a-life
the whole navmesh idea can be negated by using navmesh streaming or runtime generatiorn for navmesh. you can also use systems to only generate navmeshes from those areas in the path the ai system takes without loading the whole area
read that dudes comments, as hes a developer himself and his comments were insightful
So moving from ue4 to 5, means they rushed it, took the easy option and screwed themselves longterm

ue5 world partition and streaming can cause immense issues in the backend with ai subsystem relying on datat in those partitions
and it would require an incredible amount of process finetuning to not create hitches and such

i (think) they did what shay suggested above, didnt they explain it somewhere? with the 'online - offline modes' they basically only generate events within the predicted path the ai takes, which is offline a-life, and then the online a-life is what happens within the players active 100m bubble
and to make it work it would require tons of dynamic systems during runtime
and guess what is already owned? cpu usage
it is clear if you have been following since 2022 that the whole ai system is completely and utterly neglected
from 2020-2022 they went hard on development only to realise in 2022 that tons and tons of cuts are needed to make it work
which is what that ex-employee basically said in his recent interview

think about this then:
- is render is 200m, what happens when you shoot ai in a base 200m away? how will they react? how will the zone around you impact your base clearing shenanigans? (what if a boar pack passes you and aggros, what happens to the aggro of the base 200m away).
this would require a complete rewrite of current ai to be capable of countering these things like find direction of sniper, look for coverx return fire, flank, call for support

- what about the moving in offline? the map is designed with pacing and ubisoft esque rewards in mind, not ai pathfinding. tell me is it logical cordon has 1 entrance northern bubble? have you seen where zaton leads? wild island and northeast of cordon both through 2 small paths, how will ai navigate that and fight for those regions? what about duga? isnt 50% cut off with walls? now what about top right cement factory? there is only 1 bridge there and it leads straight into duty base, so no other faction can migrate and have spawns there besides duty. there are a ton of regions being their own bubble
zaton for instance consists of 2 bandit type hubs, 1 varta type. how will offline alife work if icarus as well as skadovsk are main quest areas?
the whole map and quests all of it is made without a thought in alife
good point re map design, hadnt even thought of pathing issues myself, shows they never even had intention of that in the first place tbh, which i guess shows anyway since they chose what features of ue to use and what not to
so even if ai is capable, even if ai can fight for regions. what happens to zaton? swamp? duga? cordon? wild island? lesser zone? cooling towers?
7/20 regions are limited, what about prip? thats 8 its tucked for endgame in corner. now cnpp and iron forest thats 10/20 advertised regions limited in alife
only thing i can think of is static limited a-life to boundaries for those areas
as soon as that clicks in your head you realise there will NEVER be true alife persistence and warfare
but that wouldnt work either, for some of them like swamps
unless the ai only pathed small areas and you simulated it in other ways
due to chokepoints and open world limitations bundled with world logic like pre and post sircaa
then it isnt really an open world simulation but an illusion
yeah youre right, if you cant do pathing you cant properly do factions, factions need a map built for them which it clearly isnt, basically everything invalidates each other and leaves us with having to rely on illusions
you say this as tho GSC can't manually select and place their pathfinding nodes or just make them ignore these gaps

You can't even get to half the map, as lot of is surrounded by cliffs you can't climb...
They have an open world, they tried to force a linear route... far too much is quest locked, its a poor design.
It's not designed for long-range gunplay, just by extrapolation from what you just pointed out
so a large a-life radius was never on the cards, at least, not any sort of online radius
its not pathfinding that is the problem it is the design of the map, the location of faction hubs, the regions tucked in corners between cliffs
from the get go we have a handfull of areas simply not capable of true alife:
- sircaa
- duga
- swamps
- pripyat
- cnpp
- iron forest
- generators
and yes all 7 count in the 20 advertised regions
they never even thought it trough, you got snipers with massive scope zooms but bare render? they added all the cool features but when it came to implementing ai with those features they realised theyre screwed
and then the cutting nation attacked
