peferibly under 900
Bruh the swift x is 1k
ik but therse a 1650 one for 700
Your going from a 3050ti to a 1650?
Is it the hp pavilion?
my curent system has a 1650 super
Bc that one has horrible battery life
Hp pavilion nasty
no
All of them
the swift x
Wait are you talking laptops?
I thought the swift x had a 3050ti
Ye
theres diffrent models
under 900 preferibly but will go up to 1000
Get a lenovo
I mean its only $650
Hey if i buy a bundle for a graphics card will a be put on a wait list or do they just have it in stock ?
If it says in stock, you'll get it, if it says back order or out of stock, its out of stock
sold out
this goes 100 over budget but this one also had a RTX 3060 as opposed to the 3050 ti which is like 20% worse
@marsh sphinx
this model only has 8 GB of ram but an i7
This model has 16 GB of ram but an i5
yeah i prefer MSI over Gigabyte
Ik its expensive but god i love that design so much
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-omen-16-1-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-512gb-ssd-shadow-black/6479083.p?skuId=6479083
Im currently using a G15 with a i7-11800H and RTX 3060 (not for gaming, work) and I love it
Im currently using a lenovo y50 touch with a i7-4700hq and GTX 860M (for gaming) and i hate it
omen is a bit meh
but at least they fixed one big flaw
that lid no longer flexes when it's closed
cause those plastic tabs makes it sit flush
My brother sadly bought an omen 15laptop
Back in November
Overpaid 1450 for a 10750h 2070s mq laptop
On black Friday too
The most demanding game he plays is fallout 4
I think
Mostly minecraft though
FO4 can be pepeg. It is a bit cpu heavy and modding makes it perform like actual garbage if you aren't careful. I have problems keeping it above 100 at 1080p sometimes with my desktop even with optimization mods
@mild vault a raised hand emoji is not tech or a deal. Please unsend
"new to epic" gives them out for free immediately 💀
best buy drop soon
supposed to be anyways
they have 20k+ gpus according to people
who i have no clue
Time to get my tent ready to camp out behind the store
im going for a 3080 fe online
Gonna try and get a 3060ti fe
ive got an fhr 60 ti so im planning on just selling it to a miner if i get the 3080 fe
fe specifically, because i mine on the side
only going for it because itd be a free upgrade without a big loss in efficiency
aight so this might be a stupid question
is it safe to save a credit/debit card to a site?
Depends on the site
best buy
If its like best buy or amazon then ofc
kk
wasnt sure if viruses or crap like that would be able to access it if i somehow managed to get one
No
Those are multi billion dollar companies, their security is top notch
ty
How are your temps? I got a G17 with a I7 9750 with a 2070 that is a little hot. repasting helped some.
I mean he never mentioned having themal issues
Well I do have thermal issues when I played cyberpunk for 40 minutes
Understandable
Max settings 70 C on the gpu and 65 C on cpu
3060m and cyberpunk dont match well
^ cyberpunk ultra settings
Yeah solid 45 fps
But temps doing benchmarks or any other game is around 60 C gpu and 60 C cpu
When I got this laptop I realized that I would have to compromise even with a desktop 3060 so now I have a RX 6900 XT
I'd hate to say it
Benchmarking cinabench r15 and r2e get up near 100c using performance mode (all on AC, not battery, never tried that).
But razer is sometimes cheaper with laptops when it comes to price/performance. They have some laptops with 3090s. They also have better cooling solutions
Ah I haven't done cinabench just 3DMark time spy and their DLSS and Ray tracing benchmarks
I bought the laptop to game on so I never really thought to use any rendering benchmarks
the laptop is one of 3 pc I have been playing around on and use it mostly when I go somewhere outside the home to stay connected. The other 2 desktops are my daily drivers for work and leisure.
same same, i just use it when I plan on going somewhere
that isnt exactly thermal issues
To me yes, I'm able to keep my RX 6900 XT at 65 C and a less powerful card is running hotter
yeah thats because a desktop with proper cooling will obviously be cooler than a laptop
but those are pretty good temps for a gaming laptop
Ah
Used to have that with a G3 lol whole thing would crash
update on hd58x
initial clamping pressure is a bit much, but has eased up over an hour of use
sounds analytical, good bass
been refreshing every so often on bb
no drop yet sadge
itll prolly be tmrw
new years drop would make sense
Why are 1080 cards so expensive rn
Best "deal" of the 10 series though, usually. 1080 Ti is faster & spendier but perf/watt isn't great
other than wattage isnt a 1080 ti somewhat like a 3060 ti?
based on nvidia’s naming scheme
Perhaps, because my slightly OC'd 1080 is like a stock 2060S. Actually with a bit of adjustment you can drop max wattage way down with maybe a 2% average fps hit. OC/PL can effect watts quite a lot. 1v limit instead of 1.05ish means 160W max instead of 200ish & average clock is similar
in raw perf 1080 ti is similar to a 2070s
3060 ti is equivelant to a 2080s
the 80 ti of the previous gen tends to be equal to next gens 70
i think it was
780 ti= 970, 980 ti=1070, 1080 ti=2070s, but including dlss it would probably put the 1080 ti equal to 2070, im not sure how much dlss helps, and then 2080 ti=3070 at all but 4k
Yeah their model systen is good for me. Obviously performance/upgrades vary by generation so the usual 970=1060 deal is different, but having more than just a plain 60 70 80 doesn't help
I'll add that the 1080 ti actually is close to the 2080, but that's looking at reviews from when 2080 was new and before driver updates might've helped
about a year ago when i was first learning about pcs i really wanted a dual 1080 ti build, because i had no clue that sli was awful
glad i didnt sell my 60 ti for that lmao
Sad, sli used to be so great. It's just too dependent on drivers/games.

Guys
This a small console sized gaming pc. I’m selling this as I no longer have a use for it.
Specs
CPU - Ryzen 3100
GPU - Rx 570
Memory - 16 GB DDR4
Storage 2 SDDs 128 gb and 512 gb
Motherboard- MSI 450 with built in Wifi
OS - Windows 11
Is that worth 300$?
I’m not very good with computer stuff I just don’t wanna be scammed or nothing
I want to buy
thats a good deal
Wow
It got listed a few days ago but I didn’t think anything of it
I hope it’s still available
570 4gb or 8gb
oh yeah if youre buying it definitely
just make sure it works
rx 570? tbh it sort of equals a 1060 if I recall.
1060 6gb seems to beat it
by a very small margin
like 5% dif it seems
it doesnt state if thats the 8gb or 4gb version though, and none of the sites i trust other than passmark do
and i dont feel like looking through passmark for benches
Oh I was mainly referencing the 570 price because I didn't recall a 1060 being near $300, but perhaps I'm mistaken
i was just commenting on the perf
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
Thoughts
it's good
Anyone have a good prebuilt link for a gaming pc for under 300$ I can’t find one.
thats bc there are none
What you're looking for is a used laptop at that price point
If you are lucky, you could get a i5 OptiPlex for cheap and throw a SSD in it with some cheap GPU
If you do that, aim for the mini towers with 4th gen cpus. 9020 MTs are generally pretty good
I got a A88X motherboard, amd 4 core 4Ghz cpu, gt 740 gpu, 8 gb ram for like 80 bucks off of mercari
Might be a bit old but works for someone on a budget
good for the price, though recommend modifying and lubing stabilizers
Bro tysm I got an i7 4th gen gaming pc for 300
The pictures made it look really old and dirty but I can clean that.
Your welcome, mercari is pretty awesome for finding stuff like that so i was like🧐😏 👏
Yeah
@torpid night late to the deal smh
Lol scroll up a bit
yeah i posted the deal first smh smh smh
wasn't looking my bad
Mercari is pretty weird but I did see a strix 1080 for $450ish while most were $600+
mercari ok
i got a question. i dont want "ur choice" bs. both the s22 and iphone 14 coming out next year. which one would guys gets
i picked up my 10920x off mercari actually
i don't know
we literally cant help you
^
we can't decide on stuff that hasn't released lol
also because they dont exist yet lol
nor is there any useful info on em yet
they will be smart
like very preliminary info
they will be phones
iphone for life 😆
they will be identical to what already exists, but slightly more powerful
with a slightly better camera, and slightly better battery
bruh
tho s22 has new exynos, but in some markets
what were you expecting?
smarter people them me who doesnt take days to make a choice
are you trapped in the apple ecosystem?
well
like sassyfish said
else make the switch to android now and never look back
we can't help you with choosing unreleased phones
those phones doesn't even exist yet
even if they did though, we would say "what phone are you using now"
and tell you to stick with that same product line
well, operating system line
ye
apple to apple, android to android, because theyre all the same, youre just making your phone upgrade process more time consuming
by migrating to a different platform
i can't move to iphone myself even if i do have the cash, so ya
i started my smartphone usage with android
stuck with google
moving to ios would be a pain for me
i am actually not since this will be my first phone
then what do your parents use
what do your friends use
and, do you use apple computers or windows computers more
half of them use samsung or motorola and other half uses iphone
yeah figured it would be split like that
sometimes it isnt though
as for the last question
if you were buying a laptop
would you get a macbook or a dell
the reasons for this are simple
quality of life is vastly superior than your cellphones spec sheet
and thats all that matters when it comes to the differences between selling your soul to the apple ecosystem or just getting an android
i have never had any phone so i dont get the sell ur soul to apple stuff
thats why my previous question matters
unless you can bear the pain of moving everything if you do wanna move later
if you had to buy a laptop
what would to be more comfortable using
an apple laptop
or a laptop with windows on it
if youre a windows user, you get an android, because most of the reasons for getting the iphone are invalidated
if you like macbooks and OSX, the integration features you get in the apple ecosystem are worthwhile
but videos or pic u take with andriod that u post on social media, the quality most time is bad
homie
thats a meme
the whole "android camera quality bad" is a funny meme for a reason
raw camera quallity is good, its just app optimization that is subpar to apple
yes i meant dat
ive used both pixel 6 pro and my personal work phone which is a 13 pro max
5head
nah i my unc said to choose between apple to samsung
in raw quality, id def say pixel 6 pro was better
unc?
but when it came to posting on a insta story, apple wins
bro nobody looking at your insta story for more than 3 seconds
dw about it lmao
it won't look so bad tho
i use my note 9 from 2017. it takes good enough pictures
its not enough to make me switch to apple as my personal phone but its still there
if i cared about my pictures i would get a real camera
sure iphone has better optim but good android cam does the job more than fine
nah but i need a phone in 9th grade alot more since i dont a computer and lots of my hw i have to make vids on how i do it and stuff
yeah exactly
also iphone has lidar which android dont got, so for my work stuff i stick with a 13 pro max
oh so you dont use desktop or laptop computers?
samsung
literally not even a question
not worth selling out to apple
imo
no
i mean
have you used the lidar on the newer iphones?
nah, i heard its dope tho
yeah its epic
they put it on the newer ipad
i do land surveying for work so for quick stuff that doesnt need to be hella accurate i just lidar scan
wut ur user mean
never for official job stuff, just for if a area needs to be done by a engineer and they could use a basic layout
oh yeah easily
intel decided to change things for alder lake u tho
it's now p and not called 12500u or something
yeah
thanks for heloing by now
Junk
save one penny
If i buy 100 ill save an entire dollar UwU
that's basically what oems does
like if they save 10 per machine for something meh in their stuff
multiply it to thousands then oh boy
massive cash saved
just post the link or how to get to it
It’s fine
@light bay what list is that c tier on btw? It's not on wind shields's list
ltt list
carries the same value tho
not a super high end drive, just good enough for budget
Oh yeah it's piss cheap anyway jw
Funny they labeled it 1.92
I wonder what it goes down to after formatting
SSDs are so cheap these days, and PSUs too. It makes me wonder if I should just get one for future proofing my rig or if they will just keep getting cheaper
I mean it’s 1920gb so not really 2TB
going by todays standards, a 2TB drive is 1862GB
GiB me those GB
Late late reply. This is sort of what I was leaning towards. Sort of like buying a 500HP engine then after installing the engine in your car finding out about crank HP vs wheel HP

@marsh sphinx you can delete everything in amazon link after the product code btw so /dp/xxxxxxx/ref=xxxx
ded meme
That one the price changed for some reason when i shortened it
That's odd
Yeah
Sometimes a long link goes to a specific seller therefore shortening might change price, lol. Idk
can someone vc and help me build my pc
if you havent finished yet try #building-and-recc-chat .... not sure if anyone has the time to help you in VC
VCs on this server are dead as hell
because you cant stream or turn video on
You can stream
Forks was doing it earlier
Correct.
:P
Would you rather have random people doing nsfw streams and getting our channel in trouble?
Makes sense w/ the low braincell bots/hacks or people who keep testing the server bots 5 times in a row
Well they could atleast lower it to obtainable ranks
Like master and stuff
Or ppl with hwbot role
I'll mention it in the mod channel, see if we can open it up just a little more
Thanks
A
As ik of only special channel VC you are allowed to stream but that means only people who have access to special area can watch
Which means like rookies could boost server and stream ig

I mean
Im champion
i think im not a troll
just maybe
Stream cpu pins being bent
Muahahaha
it sucks anyway lmao
oh man I was late
i think it was 100$ with a 100$ mir afterwards, so free lol
maybe i misread the sale when i saw it on newegg tho
b U t rGB
No that’s correct.
@merry mulch man its funny how that chat isnt for talking
@marsh sphinx shows as $240 for me and thats the normal price
thats normal price
also amazon has it for cheaper
240 is a bad price for it
Bruh, that's crap. I'd buy another z590 mobo for $80 off. Nice name
but then no lga1700
Ah, ES 12400 was modest so I'll be looking for some retail reviews. $150 savings not incl ram vs a 12600 setup isn't too bad
Does anyone know of any good deals on a 2TB SSD? Perferably less than $150 but maybe thats unrealistic
Mp33 2tb
It’s not the fastest but it’s certainly cheaper
$174.99 usd on amazon
TEAMGROUP MP33 2TB SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC NVMe 1.3 PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Drive SSD (Read/Write Speed up to 1,800/1,500 MB/s) Compatible with Laptop & PC Desktop TM8FP6002T0C101 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CDM2HSS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_C4NPS4X901C74K0TKH8P

how much you paying for it
He’s offering 1500
eeeee
hell nah
9900k is worth maybe 275 rn, max
i wouldnt pay more than 1250 for that, if it was me
Oh okay
newegg doesnt seem to want to cooperate with me
atm this is the best i can find, they normally have a pc for i think 1550 with a 3070 and 10400f
It’s gonna be my first one
newegg doesnt want to work for me rn
$1500ish w/ a 3070 is actually pretty good.
Hw unboxed did a 12700 non k review it still slapped
What's your budget?

ew still hating on razer even though they make some good products now
but still get a rk instead of a razer keyboard
this is what I meant to imply
where can i get in aus
idk lol
bruh
they're mega expensive in Australia lol
so why should I get a expensive keyboard when i could buy a better keyboard with that money?
because I'm in America and they're half the price here lol
I'm not gonna know you live in the desert island lmao
desert island 💀
lol
thats like calling usa a desert because they have deserts
Why are rk keyboards only like 50$
because they're cheap
cheap for what they are*
obv theres cheaper keyboards out there but if youre looking for a keyboard that you can customize, theyre good and cheap
@remote knoll will you marry me ?
please dont ping admins or newegg staff
LMFAO
you didnt say no.........
its a no
razer huntsman mini is nice
Razer keyboard still bad tho, "ew Razer" is a valid response to Razer keyboard or headphones >:D
Razer does make good mice now though
The good razer KBs are from 5+ yrs ago. Tarantula was quality, even though membrane keys get soft eventually
Idk what you guys are talking about but I have a redragon k617 fizz

@fiery sparrow that chat is only for tech deals btw, and no it wayy too overpriced
Terrible for the price
You could buy 2 better pcs for that price
Also poor part choices anyway
@grand orbit I do everything all out do one
Using Newegg only parts
https://newegg.io/c83d4aa5
Could do bit better/cheaper without
I With AMD
12900k is better
How about amd 5950x
I just said 12900k is better lol
Is that new one from Intel
Yes
I have One problem. I have everything amd
There's not that much amd you can have
Unless you have the CPU, the only amd specific thing you can have is a motherboard
Or you bought a super wacky CPU cooler that won't even support lga1700 and only supports am4
But doubtfull
The other parts where just general improvements
12900k What motherboard support it
any z690 board
z690 hero: exists
well that is a manufacturing defect and didn't asus recall the affected boards?
Yeah, ASUS will be doing a replacement program for affected boards
What motherboard how to support Intel 12900k
@marsh sphinx that channel is not for talking
shadow was already told
you both should delete your messages
Yes they did, they installed a cap backwards
Rmbr tht time fractal design was like, “yeah these might catch fire so we are recalling them”
Yes
can anybody recommend me decent/good GPUs around $200-300?
Well
3050 is supposed to be $250-300 I think
But it will probably be very hard to get just like every other GPU right now
NVIDIA RTX 3050
thx
I don't think it's released quite yet
ill just wait either way
@crimson otter that channel is not for discussions. That would be why this channel is labeled tech deal discussion.
Someone means $5 for all you can eat tacos in a month.
Not all you can eat, just one per day
Gotcha. People would riot for a starbucks deal like that
Seems sata ssd popularity varies, but $70 for a possibly unused 870 evo seemed like something to share.
nice price for that
Look at the name vs picture
Checkout this sus-ness. it's about 20 miles away. Tempted to actually check it out. Posted 2 days ago....
420 dollars. Nice
Just bought the Z20 Clicky keyboard I posted 😎
it's mid
Mid?
anyone got a promo code
Corsair isnt bad its just overpriced
No, it's actually bad
Nah
Ducky op, gmmk pro op
k100 is okay but overpriced but the rest applies to everything else
Yeah
Their ram is both overpriced and bad
I repeat, "mid"? What do you mean by that?
Talking about keyboards, ive only used their vengeance and its alright
Did it run at rated xmp?
Very
Probably, i got it as it was my first build and it seemed solid
Used to be better, like for ddr 2 😅 Often used micron
Atleast it looks nice while it runs at 2133....

Corsair is just straight bad
Gmmk pro is aight but Q1 better
Royal Kludge
If you can find one you want snag a Keychron
@light bay put the % after the 15 and not befor pls it no bring me the good warm fuzzy feeling
Done.
Thanku also very good deal
Dang that ram deal not in America
You can do 32GB of gskill 4000c18 for $133 if you're on a budget but want that capacity
oh
nicee
@west coral nice deal, just got one for free lol, thanks for posting
btw there's a no abuse policy for those who try to get multiple
dunno
hmm
I got that free thermal paste and RGB fan from Vetroo
lmao
Sold out in seconds when it went on slickdeals
I actually needed a new mouse pad so I actually hope this comes
same here, goated, i need another mousepad too
Yup
God damn free shipping only in the us
@marsh sphinx btw with Amazon you can shorten links to /dp/xxxxxx~~/ref=xxxxxx~~
That poor intern who made the website
It's only a matter of time until someone sets a bot to get a lot of those. Or Slickdeals finds out. I'm not sure which one is worse
@marsh sphinx
There shortened link for u
Wouldn't work
They have a no abuse policy and are a fairly small company, they'd notice pretty quick
Too bad the last Krispy Kreme closed a while ago in my area
Hey, so I apologize if this is the wrong channel to ask this type of question, but does anyone know how to actually use promo codes for products on the Newegg website? I'm new to the whole thing, but I already know how to apply promo codes. But when I go to the checkout page, it says that my email address is not eligible for the promo code I put in. How do I make it eligible?
Most of the time the codes apply automatically if you're signed in. Otherwise there's a promo code box in checkout.
Your email ineligible message, however, doesn't really have a fix.
Often codes are region or time locked
oooh, so are you saying that some codes won't work with my email no matter what because of them being region or time specific?
Exactly
kk. Thanks for the help
@tulip dagger No selling on this server
express thingy. socks on clearance are $5.99 before discount, $9.58 for 4 pairs
more express thingy. you can unsubscribe your phone number from the account you bought something from and re-subscribe on a different account, $10 will still appear
infinite socks
Uh, isn't that just going to get the orders cancelled for abusing reward privileges?
Or better yet, get you in trouble for fraud?
i dont think it’s fraud
Just "frowned-upon"
you are using their promotions, they probably will just cancel orders
XD
Why does Newegg sell items at a regular price for several weeks, jack up the price by a significant amount, then send out an email a day later where the item is "on sale" at the previous regular price. Then when the sale is over, the item is back to its regular price again? It reminds me of the black friday "sale" meme. Do people actually fall for that? I guess they do.
I noticed the pattern a few months ago with Newegg's pricing on some graphics cards and their sale emails. Every time there is a price jump, newegg puts the graphics card "on sale" within 1-2 days at its previous regular price. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tH2WGX/asrock-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16-gb-oc-formula-video-card-rx6900xt-ocf-16g?history_days=180
Check pc part picker for the pricing over the last 6 months. That's the normal newegg price. Newegg raised the price 2 days ago then put it "on sale" today at the normal price. Newegg has been raising the price, then putting the card "on sale" a day or two later at its normal $1599.99 price once or twice a month for a few months now. They did it multiple times in october and november.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tH2WGX/asrock-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16-gb-oc-formula-video-card-rx6900xt-ocf-16g?history_days=180
You realise we're in the middle of a gpu crisis, it's in stock and one of the best models?
and it doesnt matter that its not discounted rn or that they did it multiple times
literally
no one cares
its a great card
and its at a good price rn
its a tech deal
also unsend ur message in #tech-deals
How is it aa "tech deal" when its the normal price that Newegg sells it for most of the time other than the few days a month they raise the price then offer it at its normal price as a "sale"
November, the card was $159.99. Newegg raised the price to $1899.99 on November 15th. Newegg then sent an email on the 16th about a sale that brings the card down to $1599.99. The sale ended a few days later and the same card is $1599.99 again after the "sale" is over. You can find emails from newegg every single time the price of the card jumps.
deal doesnt have to mean sale
you are confused.
its a good gpu available at a good price
in the midst of a global semiconductor shortage
it wasnt a tech deal on november 15th
it is rn

what price it was at is irrelevant
its at a good price rn
The same thing happened in October with Newegg's sales around Halloween. The 6900 XT OC Formula was $1599.99. Price goes up to $1899.99. Newegg sent out an email with a sale a day later where the card is on sale for $1599.99. A few days alter whent he slae is over the price goes back to $1599.99
ok but how is that relevant?
Its a good price almost every day since September.
ok so whats ur point
How is it a "deal" when its the normal price that it has been most days since september or october? Deal implies some sort of lwoer than normal price.
thats called "sale"
you sir are confused
Its been $1599.99-$1629.99 most of the time since September. When the price is higher on Newegg, newegg puts it on sale at the $1599.99-$1629.99 price.
kindly unsend the message you sent in #tech-deals
it does not belong there
https://www.google.com/search?q=deal+meaning DEAL
https://www.google.com/search?q=sale+meaning SALE
@shut lava heres some light reading for ya
Deal implies below normal price or a braigain when compared to regular price. $1599.99 is the normal price.
thats called a sale
....
Not according to the google results showing up for me in your links. LOL
cant read either?
Deal =good value, doesn't have to be on sale for that
Google can give different results for different people based on search history. Are you not familiar with how google search works?
dictionary meanings dont change sadly for you
You are using a verb definition to define a noun? LOL
@heady jasper use here for chat please, and he is not wrong that it's not on sale, doesn't mean it's not a good deal tho
theres the noun
ur still wrong
bingo bongo
@heady jasper #tech-deals is only for links, if you want to discuss tech deals, discuss em here
Then the meaning of the tech deals channel has nothing to do with things that are a good value by that definition. So I can start posting every over priced item there. LOL
you can
no one said you cant
ull just get downvoted and eventually muted/banned
but you can
Yet the entire context of the channel implies that things are available at a reduced price. The 6900 XT OC Formula is not at a reduced price when its $1599.99. That's the normal price that Newegg sells it for.
Ok
cry about it
and downvote my deal
i give up
We disagree on the definition, but the cambridge dictionary says that in context of a purchase a "deal" is a bargain. When I looked up bargain, it says something sold much lower than its normal price. English expressions for non english speakers says in the context of a purchase a deal is a purchase below normal price. My focus was on the context context deal is used in.
Not really a bargain when they inflate the price for a short time right before the new "deal" when the "sale" price is what the standard price has almost always been.
It doesn't need to be on sale to be good value tho lol
good value =/= deal
It can
Not always. I'll agree that it's a good card at a "better than scalper" price. That's about it.
It's not just any 6900xt tho, it's the cheapest and one of the best models similar to something like a kingpin on the Nvidia side
Before EVGA recently raised the price of the 3090 Kingpin, the Kingpin was $400-500 more than the MSRP of the 3090 Founder's edition depending on if you got the Hybrid or Hydro copper. My Hybrid was $1909.99. My Hydro Copper was a little over $100 more than the Hybrid. The OC Formula is $600 more than the MSRP of the reference model. Its not an awful price for what you get, but that depends if you go by overall dollar increase over base/reference model or by percentage in price increase over the base/reference model.
When the OC Formula and Red Devil Ultimate were listed for a few hundred dollars more than a Kingpin 3090 I thought the price was a bit ridiculous.
Okay but the 6900xt games the same as a 3090 so
Until you turn on ray tracing...
That's a whole other discussion though
Also the 6900 XT isn't as compatible with hardware acceleration for most 3D rendering software or give as much of an improvement with some of the most popular video editing software.
It entirely depends on what you are buying the card for.
Render times with a 6900 XT card vs a 3090 in some of the software I use would be 4 time to 10 times longer for example.
Either way, if you buy a Kingpin 3090 or OC Formula mainly for gaming use, its overkill.
Ray tracing is a gimmick for nost people
Yeah but 6900xt formula oc is the cheapest 3080 ti/6900xt/3090 ignore founders/amd direct
The people on the falcodrin discord have been rather successful getting 6900 XT AMD direct reference cards with the software they have. I bought one last summer direct from AMD with their browser plugin.
I disagree that ray tracing is a gimmick. I noticed a difference in games and it is the way of the future for game lighting. Its getting easier to integrate it into new games with game engine updates.
Have you seen the difference when people add 3rd party ray tracing to old games? They look so much better.
Okay well cards have gotten harder to get for 1, and i don't mean that ray tracing won't ever be useful i just mean it's in so little games atm and when you turn it on, even on Nvidia it is a big performance drop
I still get good frame rates with ray tracing on, so I can't complain.
What do you define good tho?
thing with radeon direct is that it's pretty limited in supply
but valid point i guess
At 3440x1440 I get 80-130 FPS average with ray tracing enabled depending on the game and graphics quality settings.
That's with one 3090 not both in the few games that still support two. lol
Also some games have improved their performance with ray tracing since launch.
to many, rt is still gimmick cause not everyone could afford a 3090 tbh
Yeah that type of performance is meh to me and that's only 80-130 on the best card, it would be way worse on something like a xx60/xx70, until the xx70 cards can do better than that at least it's a gimmick to me
The most common monitor resolution is still 1920x1080. So I'm sure the performance is acceptable at lower resolutions with a 3070.
According to steam, less than 10% of people have 2560x1440.
That's correct it's leaning to 1440p now tho
4K is 2%
when rt is not a gimmick to me is when even a low end gpu can do it half-decently
With 70% of "gamers" having 1920x1080 ray tracing shouldn't be a huge performance hit.
imma give it a few years
but i do like dlss, and that makes me prefer nvidia over radeon
already can do that at indistinguishable quality difference and less perf impact using raster
lmao
raytracing is 100% a gimmick
but i do want dlss in every single games
dlss is cool
free perf for barely any quality loss
not as good as dlss but the new nvidia systemwide eature thing is nice
don rember what they call it
shame i don't have it
Everyone called the changes to PC gaming graphics technologies about 20 years ago a gimmick too.
850m is too old
nvidia version of rsr
well 90's had huge leaps
ok then ill stop calling rt a gimmick in 20 years
or when it actually stops being a gimmick
yeah but not really any more useful
Back then, it only took a few years for the changes to be widely adopted and used because hardware caught up. 4000 series and possibly the next AMD series will make ray tracing much less costly on performance I'm sure.

RTX is a gimmick proved
Visit https://www.squarespace.com/LTT and use offer code LTT for 10% off
Use code LINUS and get 25% off GlassWire at https://lmg.gg/glasswire
With real-time raytracing availability almost reaching 3 years of time, people starting to actually ask if they should "future proof" for RTX. But can you tell if RTX is even on?
Buy AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT ...
The pre baked lighting in newer games can be very good, but compare games from a few years ago that have ray traced lighting added by 3rd party mods.
i can't see it happening until lower end gets better, which seems to be stuck in a ditch
low end market is dead these days
still done in raster btw
In the linus video they tried to figure out ray tracing in minecraft in the wrong areas. I tried minecraft and minecraft with ray tracing. You see a big difference when you use torches for example.
The other issue with ray tracing is its new tech and not all the game engines implement it to the best of its ability.
new tech for game engines
that's why it's still a gimmick
u can just use a shader that uses raster
So every new technology is a gimmick until its very affordable fully implemented properly I guess?
I've looked at the 3rd party minecraft lighting mods and none of them come close to what the ray traced minecraft lighting does, especially with a light source in dark areas.
One of the issue with comparing ray tracing to non ray traced graphics in many current games is that its not fully implemented. So its harder to notice the difference.
seus ptgi
I know, right? I saw the LTT video where most his people in a couldn't even really tell the difference between RT on and off.. might as well just keep it off, since performance hits are more noticible.
Technology is oftentimes considered a gimmick until you can actually take advantage of it, so until it’s widely implemented many will say RTX is the same.
I don’t disagree
^
In the Linus video Linus said that one of the issues is several of the games didn't have much ray tracing. Some of them it was only shadows or reflections and not full ray traced lighting.
The page for that mod shows an example of where it doesn't work well compared to ray traced minecraft. The torch lights up the entire area evenly no matter what the distance is from the torch and disregards the color temperature of the light source.
With ray traced minecraft, the area around the torch is the brightest and the light decreases further away from the torch. Also the color temperature of the light for the torch is in the 1000K to 1800K range inr ay traced minecraft. With that mod, it looks like the color temperature for the torch is 5000K+ based on the light in that example photo.
what has tech deal discussion become
we went way off topic...
Get literally any shader pack
BSL is a personal favorite
also think that image either the settings were blown out or an over exaggeration by the author just to show how bad it can or seus messed up with one of the versions of ptgi because seus does fairly good with interior lighting. a comparison of rtx and ptgi, seus did better than rtx vs rtx which did better with outside lighting
or the other way around with rtx doing better with interior/dark lighting and seus doing better with outside light
seus ptgi
It bugs me when counter rt drop in perf with dlss like sure its good when there but not always there lol
that is not a pic of seus ptgi
yeeee
It really is a gimmick because its not a necessity for gaming, sure it makes the environment look nice but its not required.
Its like weapon skins, they look nice but don’t actually help you. Except in the case of ray tracing it actually worsens your performance
Its just advertised for “wow look how nice this game looks with ray tracing. Better throw that gtx card in the trash and blow your wallet on a new 30 series!”
Then it shouldn't be on the mod page.
Really? thats odd bc im on the page and i dont see that picture anywhere
Please point to me where you saw that image
https://www.sonicether.com/seus/
I don't think it is..
Yep. Would be nice to not see people argue about sale vs deal for 20 minutes also.

That site sounds like you would get 80 trojans from just clicking the link
Its where I got the picture from this morning
Its not from the shader site tho lol
hey where would i be abled to buy the cheapest meshify c 2 case in white
Just look it up on pc part picker
thank you
We had one on the local Craigslist for $70 until just recently. I can't say it was a C2 or just C
@rose ocean please talk about tech deals here
And no it wasn't 16 18 18 38
Your list has Corsair vengeance not crucial ballistix
That's right. My mistake.
I see the breakout discussion to avoid sullying the list of deals now. I removed my comment.
I know I had read a primer on RAM timings, but maybe you can talk with me a bit more about the importance. I have never OC'd anything and don't have much understanding of the process at all. But what I picked up so far is the numbers have a diminishing degree of importance from the speed down through the 4th latency(?) number, is that right?
Probably wrong channel for that discussion :🤷:
I'll get this Discord thing figured out someday maybe.
Uhh not really they're all pretty important but tras(4th num) is just always higher than the rest by nature, basically lower timings the better, higher speed the better
For example, if you look at the zentimings window on the right, you can see sip's mem oc with all the timings here
I didn't mean to imply not important, just diminishing relative to one another. But I could be completely wrong on that, I am trying to learn. The zentimings image is mostly foreign to me right now. I see the tRAS you mentioned at 34. I presume tCL is CAS Latency, the first number 14.
Are the second and 3rd numbers always the same? They seem to be in most instances.
I'm looking at PCPartPicker right now, and i see that they are not. But often are.
I wonder why 16 20 20 38 is bad, is the delta between them meaningful or is it just poor relative to what else is on the market?
Yep tCL is cas latency. Also, The latter. An example of old timing was 800MHz 4-4-4-12 or 1066mhz 5-5-5-15. 1st number is generally CL & most important. The following timings can be equal or slightly "higher". They don't usually effect performance much if similar to the CL. 2nd & 3rd main timing spot can be different, but uncommon. My ddr3 was 10-11-10-28ish but I made it 9-10-10-30, for example. Overall ddr4 latency should be decent w/ almost any 3600c16 kit.
Well i believe it's trp value that's hidden on intel? But 16 20 20 38 is bad because it's slower than 16 18 18 38 and not even the cheapest
not slower as much as higher latency
but yeah
the speed is the first large number
everything else is latency related
and what is the significance of the tRP?
That is both of the middle numbers? or one is hidden is what you are saying?
To be honest i don't know what each number does but lower better basically
Thanks. That was my general understanding as well. But I will try to find what I read to get the idea that they were of diminishing importance.
So much so that benching a game with various timings is often a waste of time, at least if CL itself is unchanged. This is just what I've noticed. Of course, bandwidth or latency needs vary a bit by program.
Not really, I've noticed a huge perf increase from 3200 ballistix xmp to this
Granted did get the fclk and freq benefits
But it depends
And i play csgo so very cpu/ram sensitive
Csgo is 90% of that, lol. Plus you said 3200? Oh of course that'll be a decent change. I meant specifically 16 18 18 w/e vs like 16 22 22 (with no MHz change also)
Afaik Intel platforms tend to merge tRCDRD & tRCDWR into just tRCD when they tend to be separate on AMD platforms
Ahh yeah you're right that makes more sense
Well i mean i can run a bench for that if you'd like
If you felt like. Just for what I've seen it would be within margin of error in quite a few games, besides csgo 😅. Btw that 3600c14 looks great. Almost wish I spent the extra $15-20 for Ballistix since it at least can do lower Volts vs the G.skill, I think.
dang i was late for the minecraft shaders conversation 😔
@oak sentinel bro i bought that ram for 180 dollars now im sad
wait
no
i bought 3600 for 180
What is the real performance difference between these two? Their rated performance is the same in 3 out of the 4 numbers (granted idk wtf they mean) but what exactly would convince me to pay 2-3x the price for the crucial ones?
Only major difference is amount of memory, the crucial is double the size per stick compared to the T Force sticks (16gb per dimm vs 8gb)
I.E., twice the price for twice the ram
overclocking ability too
that ballistix is most likely rev e, should have some good oc potential
Oh I didn't notice the gigs lmao I saw the timings and the hertz. But gotcha, makes sense.
Pato that's c19 btw, the oos stuff.
I'd only go crucial there for high capacity, could get 32GB decent b-die for around that price
yee but 4400c19 is lower overall latency than 3600c16
so its actually a very nice deal and kit
Deffo quite a bit better than the 4000c18 ripjaws I'm gonna return. Oos everywhere is the kicker
But you'd have to be running 10th gen intel to really make use of 4400 at xmp
or a 5600g/5800g
Sure, any apu, but that's definitely not plug and play
I thought zen 3 apus could run 4400 since monolithic?
They can, but like I said, it's not plug and play xmp, usually
Will need a good board too
board makes sense but could you please explain as to why xmp wont be plug and play?
Probably have to set soc manually at the very least
SHeesh nice!
Ahhh right i forgor that makes sense
I wouldn't trust asus to auto it, I haven't tested it, but given what asus intel boards do to io/sa when you run xmp > 4000...
Asus auto volts ™️ is a meme for a reason
they're not bad sticks for that price, just very niche use case imo
I would just personally buy b-die for 2x16 at that price, or spend $20 more for better
But 4x16 b-die is usually pretty dumb
Ah, that's why that one $98 kit is looking pretty good currently, even if it's not for all setups
No, that kit is absolutely a great option for nearly anything given that you want 2x16
That said, you shouldn't run it at xmp for anything but zen-zen+
It'll do 3800 14 19 19 36 on zen2/3 any intel etc
I haven't seen 2x16 rev.e/b at that price since prime day 2021
yeah it isnt even showing on pcpp
flies back over to NE.com
The ballistix is 32gb instead of 16gb first of al so it's 2x the capacity, xmp timings are the same but it's cheap, good quality ram, light on the memory controller and you can oc them nicely
Out of curiosity, what happens if you run it on a ryzen cpu non apu? Would you just lose performance?
I'm guessing there would be stuttering and such?
And run it at 4000
You would have to run it desynced to infinity fabric
What would that cause?
De synced = bad performance
You need really high ram speed to overcome de synced being worse
Well you'd also needa change some voltages
Is it worth getting a 5800x if you have a 5600x
Nope
Thanks
Np
Nah, I wouldnt upgrade from the 5600x unless you're not changing motherboard and going to a 5950x, and thats only if you need the cores
It is if you do other tasks but for gaming, a 5600x is fine
Not worth upgrading if they already have the 600x
If the person needs the extra power for things such as video editing or anything cpu bound then its worth the upgrade
If its just for gaming then there isnt a point
If they where gonna upgrade they'd wanna wait for 5800x3d
Fair
How does it even work though
Its just a ton more l3c
But how does that impact performance so much
Games like cache
I think it means it can utilize multiple cores better?
Don't quote me on that
I'm not too sure how caches work
I'm going off how I know cpu mining works, with ryzen cpus being much better for cpu mining because they can use all cores because of the way their cache works
While intel cpus tend to only be able to use 1 or 2
Cpu mining still isn't worth it, but point stands
L3 cache is just like super speedy small amount of ram basically
L2 cache same thing but smaller amount
Same goes for l1
damn i saw a amplifi router on sale for around ~230usd but it seems the sale only lasted about 4hrs
@azure pond $5 off w/ promo code SSBNAZ23
Also 360/355 isn't that low for 5800x, it's pretty common
Added
B&h had it for 340 for a while a couple weeks ago
But yeah it's p decent if you already have the biard
Otherwise just go 12600k/12700k depending if you live near MC
its more than 12600k
even without micro
Yeah but if they already have am4 board
The 3200 Ballistix sale is over ig.
ooof
Just remember prices ultimately local.
Any good deals on a RTX 3070 (140W Tgp) laptop ?
@azure pond might wanna add that it only has 8gb ram
Will do
Fat rip
Any good deals on ryzen 7 5thgen rtx 3060 laptop?
Depends on budget
around 100000rs ~ 1300$
what country?
https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/laptops/dell-g15-gaming-amd/spd/g-series-15-5515-laptop/cn55409sc11 closest I’ve found
india
it’s like 100-200 over budget
