I’m not knowledgeable on PSUs, thought it was good though
Could you explain why it’s a bad thing? I thought that the MSI one had all the cables
it only has 2 8 pin cables
any gpu that uses 3 8 pin cables will need to use a 12v to 8 pin
12v is bad
I still don’t get it
you will have to compromise and risk your gpu if you have a gpu with more than 2 8 pin connectors
You can use 2nd end of cable in this case tho (of course if it have one lol) 1cable for 1st connector, and another for 2nd and 3th . Nothing bad can happen since tdp on 9070xt is like 304W . You have extra 75W from mobo just in case tho
Not safe on power hungry cards like 3090 etc but it's safe with 9070
still, its no insane deal that deserves a compromise
Yeah of course. Just saying
mhm
Alright I'm back, time to research
If I get 9070 or 9070xt I'll probably trying to figure out how to undervolt also
Any good deals on $800 prebuilt recently?
Not unless you're looking for an i5 and 5060.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li A3-mATX MicroATX Mini Tower
thats easy, just move some sliders in adrenaline
I’ve seen some R5 8400F ones, would that be better than i5?
At least with AM5 it’s a better platform than 14th gen intel
8400f is like
essentially ewaste comapred to the rest of am5
Better potential upgrades. Whether it's actually better than a 14400f or 225f? Kind of but not really.
if it has a 8400f i dont have good hopes for the mobo
I have a questionn
What is your opinion on these cpus?
none are better value than this deal
Is that used?
Not sure tbh
Was thinking I could pair it with this
They said they build pcs for people
Understood
just get the list i sent
Agh I was really trying to make my itx work
No it isn't. It's just short.
25l is small...
It's basically the same footprint as a midtower.
its still small
Most people who care about itx care about desk space, not vertical space.
What's your goal?
Wait do yall want to check the post selling the stuff too?
I was thinking combining parts I can probably negotiate
I want to build a smaller pc like itx/matx
Kind of like a ps5 so it's easier to move around
Do you have a specific case you like?
Goal is probably velka 3, dan a4 sfx level but that's not possible because I want a 9070
So any small case that can fit 300~ gpu
I think a4 can fit a reasonably long 3 slot. I'd have to double check. Why impossible?
Oh it can? Also I think it was discontinued so it's quite pricey
just get the list i sent you
Lian li licensed it. I haven't checked in a while. Think it was like 150.
it will need more expensive other parts
youre gonna be making compromises for not that much smaller
Is just ssd and klevv ram ok?
Itx motherboard costs a bit more yeah and psus can be a lot more.
you also cant get the deal i sent
Yeah that's true the cpu and motherboard combo is really good value
i would just get the a3
youre making no compromises and still getting a smaller system
Ahh I was looking and saw Lian li is going to make a b4
That's like the perfect size wth
Quok what do you think about the ncase m2?
I know it's more expensive but it fits everything right? Other than the cpu cooler I think
That's another one that has a lot of variable configs and you'd have to pay attention to what works together.
if youre going for small matx get the a3 matx
your budget will make sff hard unless you make compromises
If you don't like the a3 there are other cases in that layout. Jonsbo has a bunch like the d31 or z20.
Alright I give up I'll go either a3 matx or jonsbo d31 from the guy on reddit
What's your opinion on jonsbo d31? Do you think it's a good case?
I just want to buy more items from the guy to potentially get a bundle discount.
It's about the same as an a3 in layout but different styling. Not sure if it could fit a 360 like an a3 but I wouldn't put a 360 in an a3 anyway, it really messes up the PSU compatibility.
https://cooj.cc/products/cooj-sf3-8-9l-a4-structure-aluminum-alloy-itx-case that one is pretty small but can fit reasonable hardware
also you can always go with Formd (Ncase) T1 as a safe bet if the price is ok
ncase m2 is fine if you want to go with matx, it's way smaller then a3 and jonsbo d31
Wow cute case, I've bought all my parts already tho I'll keep this in mind for the future
Kind of crazy how my reaper can fit in that tho lol
Hmm @thin bolt let us know if they cancel your order on pricing error
Completely forgot, there's also Jonsbo Z20, it's the size of CM NR200 but still can fit matx, 240 aio and ATX psu, and slightly bigger D32
And the new Gamdias Athena is in that same class
Not even close, it's like 2.5x Z20 and 2x D32 in volume
It’s similar to the A3 and D32 - not the Z20 for sure. Specifically in exterior dimensions.
No hands on time yet but I have one coming soon.
Any of those class cases though, while cool are kind of pointless because you are only saving on height compared to a mid tower. Footprint is the same.
Can work for some folks but not meaningful if it’s going on a desk
D32 and A3 is like 25l and that thing is 45l, it's not only higher, but longer and wider
also they can be mounted vertically and get a smaller footprint, there's plenty projects like this https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1dz1vtf/lian_li_dan_a3_case_tower_mod_3d_printed_stand/
I think you are looking at old Athena data. Feel free to double check this but I know the Athena measurements are right
Case size comparison (inches / liters)
DAN A3
• 17.4 × 9.7 × 7.9 in
• ~21.9 L
Gamdias Athena (446 × 235 × 347 mm model)
• 17.6 × 9.3 × 13.7 in
• ~36.4 L
Jonsbo Z20
• 14.6 × 7.3 × 11.6 in
• ~20.3 L
Jonsbo D32
• 16.2 × 8.0 × 15.6 in
• ~32.9 L
Volume (small → large):
Z20 → DAN A3 → D32 → Athena
seems like there's plenty of cases named Athena, my guess is you are talking about M4M
also A3 and D32 are pretty close in dimensions and they both are somewhere around 25-26l mark
Yeah my bad. Check this out on @Newegg:Gamdias ATHENA M4M WOOD, with ATX 3.1 850W 80+ GOLD PSU 5yr warranty, mini ITX, mATX, micro mesh small form factor PC case, 3 PWM fans (Airflow up to 57.56 CFM), fits: 395mm GPU and 360mm radiators. https://www.newegg.com/gamdias-technology-atx-mini-tower-cases-computer-cases-atx-form-black/p/2AM-00BP-00069?Item=9SIAJGNKNC0440&tpk=1
Epic is giving away 1 month free Nitro if you haven't had nitro in the past 12 months. Will auto-renew if you don't cancel subscription
Did you get hacked
That seems fishy
I smell fish
bro doesnt want to open the epic games store 💀
Kinda based
Epic do kinda suck tho
Hhhm..m.m
Not caring about nitro, not wanting to open egs, not wanting to have to remember to cancel something. All good things to believe in.
I have epic games for the free games that I never play
I just like building my library
Although the jackbox party pack was nice and I might use that
i did play death stranding thru egs
since epic was giving the game away
respectfully, i don't get the negativity towards the epic game store, it's just another game store that happens to be run by a manchild ceo
and we don't know steam's future when gabe dies as some food for thought
On the other hand I get it
Steam has better customer support, refund policies
An entire community built around it instead of just a shop
those are valid reasons to like steam, i agree
though i don't see any harm in merely claiming free games and using the game store to play some of the games i want that they give away for free at least once or twice in a year
granted it is my personal view, and i respect others' views as well
I also don't like using more than one launcher to play the games I would like to play
if it's free, i won't have to refund honestly
And since Steam has the best launcher out of all of them, well
yeah
i can see that
having two or more launchers gets annoying over time, speaking from personal experience
Oooo Bioshock
Another game I will impulse buy but never play
I keep buying these game bundles and never playing them lol
Personally I just hate the ui for egs. Also it’s storage and game save management is abysmal compared to steam
The amount of time I’ve wasted reinstalling games that I already have downloaded
It doesn’t need any mods
They’re also not super duper long games
What game should I get from the steam sale?
Detroit Become Human $3.99
Stardew Valley $8.99
The Witcher 3 $3.99 (or $8.00 for 1,2,3)
Dead Island 2 $4.99
Overcooked $1.69
Assassin's Creed Valhalla $5.99
Possibly looking for a good campaign or a nice replacement for minecraft as my go-to relaxing game.

I think it is ok to torrent ubisoft games
if it is that cheap then might as well get the free one
just know that valhalla is kinda janky and also takes a long time to finish
Detroit is a good game, worth buying for sure
meh i like building my steam library lol
kinda thinking of stardew but idk if its as good as its said to be
Do you have Control?
If you aren't interested, I'd say Witcher 3 is pretty good
I would definitely pay for Witcher 3 complete edition over the Witcher 1,2,3 bundle
ok its like the same price
Witcher 1 you get for free by making a GOG account
Witcher 2 you can probably buy it separate
Bioshock 1, 2, infinite
Only campaign I ever played entirely is the Wolfenstein franchise
What games do you normally play?
Bioshock
Witcher is on sale a lot
Minecraft and SCP: CB rn
usually i play fps games like valorant > overwatch 2 > marvel rivals
but i kinda want something more casual
i dont wanna get mad at teammates anymore
Bioshock
is drg on sale
You shouldn't have any trouble finishing that campaign. It's like 5 hours long.
I would have suggested Half-Life but it looks like you have it but barely touched them
bros investigating my steam account
well yeah, duh
just so we know what you already have and don't have, and what you play
huge steam account but only played like 10% of it
most of the time its impulse buying bundles
when you play games, do you pick a hard difficulty and focus on gameplay?
or do you care at all about story
baste
i actually dont like campaigns where its constantly running and gunning npcs
i like story
okay but a story to go alongside running and gunning
i hate parts where its constantly redoing a stage of pve
i guess i liked wolfenstein a bit since it wasnt purely running and gunning but some missions were stealth based and u might have never even shot a person
i like story
wolfenstein was good story imo
the new colossus
might not have been on the same steam account
10 hours The New Colossus
13 hours The New Order
nvm i guess i did only 2 of them
old blood doesnt seem my style
id be down, they redoing halo 1 right?
yeah but that comes out in 2026
BIOSHOCK
master chief collection is $10
mid cash grab, mcc is better
only ever played halo infinite
BIOSHOCK IS KNOWN FOR ITS STORY
so is mass effect but we all know how @cursive sage feels about it
what do you think i feel about it
You feel nothing
Because you haven’t played it
But buy Bioshock @bold willow
steam cart rn, maybe ill buy everything lol
Do it
holy hell thats a lot
about a year of games for $30

i thought this was a pick one situation
Play bioshock first
It’s an acquired game
I enjoyed destiny 2 a lil, is it similar?
I like the campaign but I feel its too short
I only like the multiplayer
Campaign was too short
If it were up to me I would swap Titanfall with Mass Effect or Control
i dont enjoy it, its more like an addiction than relaxing.
which one?
oh, which one uhh
Andromeda Deluxe is $4, Legendary edition is $6
newest one

I thought you were going to bring up the story and how the choices you make could change it
final cart?
oh shoot didnt mean to show that
lol
but yeah halo, bioshock, witcher, ME LE
i think i wanna do halo first
$40 for like 10 titles and new games be costing $60 for one
its less bloatware compared to aim trainer, which is overrated.
the sequel, catgirl aim trainer isnt as good imo

oh hell nah
aimbeast looks good
yeah i am lacking on karma rn, but also i use my reddit for school stuff so id rather not have my diploma be linked to anime feet aim traner.
might lowkey buy it
I played comp fps games my entire life and never touched an aim trainer.
Probably why i suck at everything that needs aim
i dont even know if i will like
Marvel rivals cloak is my goat
furry aim trainer is wild
my aim is pretty decent but its tracking something for a while that i am not very good at
especially something moving around a lot
i can only do it for a short time
or rather any kinda trainer that has a certain implication
which is ok for the most part because i typically am not in scenarios where i have to track for a period of time
my mains were Rook (R6S), Killjoy (Valorant), Juno (OW2), and now Cloak (MR)
so literally played anything that didnt depend on aim
support character
gooning aim trainer

if your gonna train, why would you wanna aim at lifeless blobs?
add some personality to your aim trainer.
All the pros I know use Gooning aim trainer with the sexy maids dlc
grok is this true
can i post the aim trainer deal in tech deals or will i lose my newegg citizenship
i wonder if buildapcsales is chill like that
i wish it was co-op
Could the price of PSUs go up in 2026? I saw some pretty good PSU deals earlier
Not sure if I necessarily need a new one or not
When no one is wanting to buy ram/storage/maybe gpus for a new pc the other stuff is more likely to go down than up.
@high radish sir
I see this deal in another site but don't have RAM like another's
[Bundle] ASUS TUF GAMING B850M-E WIFI + Team Group 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5 6000 CL 38 - $169.99
Can u lookin if it's real? Pls
yeah it was oos , it came back in stock but without ram
8gb ddr5 is dookie anyways
Better than no ram.
Tru…
You can search 'memory combo' on newegg and it'll show you the ones they have. They go in and out of stock and the better they are the faster they sell out.
a less 200 bucks
Is 229 USD for 32 gb CL36 5600 bad or good for the current market?
Good I think
pretty good just make sure it's a good reputable brand
It is kingston
brand rly doesnt matter, just avoid corsair for lower speeds and youre fine

Ive come to the conclusion avoid anything corsair thats not ram or a psu
even corsair ram has issues
i personally havent had a problem with it but everything else has eitheir come in broke or malfunction within a month
got a keyboard that would double tap keys after a month replaced samething in a month
well im not talking about that, corsair ram can have mismatched ICs, and they LOVE to get the abs cheapest IC for the speeds they advertise
so if you plan on doing non expo, or getting cheap ram then manual oc, avoid corsair at all costs
i use teamgroup no problems here
personally i just went with what got the job done for the cheapest just happend to be teamgroup
I'm using team too. Was $73 at the time for a 2x16 hynix kit with no xmp/expo profiles on it and it had lp heat spreaders. Pretty much exactly what I wanted.
I like my t create
Why Corsair?
Issues, they’re fine as long as they’re the cheapest decent ram speed you can find, otherwise it’s not gonna be great
@high radish what a typo
typical newegg lol
no black kit with m-atx board this time . only this one and rog b850 have free ram
Man I knew things were rough but I didn't know 2gb dimms were making a comeback

16gb ram with ThreadRipper 💀 💀 💀

Edit: Man I have this 48GB kit of DDR5 7600 CL36 but I only build AMD rigs. No use for it.
In this economy?
😭
Hit me up in you’re interested. Fair pricing.
Ahh I appreciate you but I got my ram already. I'll ask my friend if they need it but I think 48GB might be too much for her.
Sorry! Will review now lol
It’s all g
Just try to keep it in dms
If someone mentions they have something and you want it, that’s fine
You’d then move to dms
Sorry Mr. Roomba
Edited 😂 happy holidays y’all
It’s okay
Woohoo almost Christmas
What's rule 3?
Do we have rules?
- No sweepstakes/ giveaways, e-begging, trading or selling on this server.
Oh right
lmao
Guess it worked
jjjjjj
Fr
bro i needa wallet
every time i pull this thing outta my pocket all my cards fall out
These are my favorite minimalist/slim wallet
Our original Elastic Wallet combines a slim silhouette with quality you can count on. This minimalist card holder is made with tight-knit elastic that keeps your cards and cash snug and secure wherever you go, without any bulk. It connects easily to other Thread® accessories with a built-in keyring.
Start with Halo CE
BTW if you press Tab in Halo CE and Halo 2 you can switch from classic and remastered graphics
I did Classic but do what you want
Don’t install the original Bioshocks
They’re pointless
Only infinity?
Roomba means don't install 1 and 2, install 1 remastered and 2 remastered
The first and second games' remasters are just the og games and dlcs with updated graphics. Though 2's remaster didn't include multiplayer mode iirc
Yeah start with ce
Ce, 2, 3, odst, reach, 4
@bold willow
Is the halo infinite campaign worth it?
Haven't played yet
Btw I’m moving my pc into a new case and might need to replace the thermal paste, is this good? https://a.co/d/2AmGBzp
I use their cpu fan with wife’s pc. Not bad. Not sure about their paste though. Havent used it yet.
From my experience there is very little difference between pastes
So it’s worth it cause it’s $3
The paste I used I mixed with alcohol so I could actually spread it onto the cpu
It was super dry
So I think any paste would be better
You mixed paste with alcohol?
That’s not a good idea
Go for it
Just don’t mix it this time
The campaign is strange but enjoyable
I wouldn’t get it unless it’s cheap
it’s the sixth halo game, because the fifth halo game is not on Steam just so you know
CPU has a drinking problem
Why were a bunch of messages deleted from here wow
I just reloaded this channel after my internet got back and saw a bunch of messages disappear
basically b550 board ( lowend) and 32gb ddr4 ram for 175$ . for current market not bad at all
2x8
175$ for am4 where you can get less for am5
There's 2 kits . One with combo and another gift with mobo . Headline is little confusing I guess
ddr4 is alright with 4 sticks . But this mobo is really low-end tho. Only suits to r5 5600 I guess
Ig its ok
Tbh would prefer one of the am5 combo for cheaper
Unless ram is super needed
Yeah. For ram , Newegg and mc bundles are best bet
On mc put ram back in bundles?
I saw few recently I think . Did they not bundling with Rams anymore?
That’s good wth
Oh dude if you get a goated manager you can totally ask for that bundle with the cpu/mobo at the bundle discount
Pick your poison I guess. Mobo + ram from newegg and cpu alone or cpu + ram from MC and mobo alone lol
or you get lucky with the manager
i got so lucky with mine, he totally let me return my 9700x bundle for what i bought it at vs the price it went down to
Or you don't have MC around so only chance is newegg
That's typically how returns work lol. You get back what you paid
it was an exchange, my 9700x bundle for a 7800x3d bundle so
MC dropped the ram from bundles for a while. Then they added it back as an option for $280-300, now they're doing that for $200 above what the ramless bundles were. And some of the lower spec bundles are down to single stick again, it's not +$55 for the second one anymore though. Not sure what they'd do if you wanted an r5 combo with two sticks. The single x16 is priced at $175 individually. https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/bundle-and-save.aspx
those 1 stick deals might be hard avoids
Single channel isn't as bad for ddr5 as it is ddr4
So you could probably get by with 1x16
They just don’t make any sense compared to just buying the CPU + 32GB + Open box board
16GB bundles are indeed dead IMO to include the 7600X3D, sadly.
And if you can get that $200 ram deal
200 for 7600x3d, 200 for the ram, open box board
Goes hard
exactly. But then you are in that 100$ ladder. +100$ gets you a 7800X3D, +100 to 9800X3D lol. But truth be told the 70TI does fantastic with the 7600X3D, as does the 5080 with the 7800X3D
I impulse bought a 6000 cl30 off of woot for like $50 back in October, regretted it after a day or two, now I don’t lmao
Still no ddr5 mobo though, they still cost like a 7600x3d which is insane 😪
What
mobos aren't that expensive
at least ones that do the job and have enough i/o and ssd slots
Mobo prices going down recently as well . Even highend mobos can be found under 300 . 150-200$ getting you decent mobo currently
Ebay floating with mobos bacause newegg bundles again
The AMD motherboard market is great
just trying to find a decent z790 that isn't 180-200+ has always been a struggle
If you mean the msi b850 pro-s that's one of the only b850s that is limited to a gen 4 gpu slot.
check open box
My local microcenter just received a z790 tuf plus for $110 🙏
I was trying to find a z690/z790 DDR5 motherboard that was matx (impossible)
if i already have 3 monitors should i buy a fourth for no reason
i got that $40 1080p 24" 180hz monitor deal a while ago
then i bought an oled
If you’re going to spend that much, i’d go thermalright phantom spirit with an extra heat pipe and twin fan.
https://www.newegg.com/p/13C-000Y-000K7
of course it all really depends on your CPU and how much heat you’re needing to dissipate. The $29 one you posted is not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
Well, not all depending on dissipation. It also depends on how much space is available and how tall your RAM stick(s) are.
9800x3d, 9070xt, x870E-P, 1000w gold
Deciding on a case/fans/plugs if needed
70$ for an air cooler? Just spend 50 on an aio
https://a.co/d/aVxr82f just like this one
Yeah
They're about the same. I'd just pick whichever you think looks best.
Hole in one!
My thermal grease arrived, it tastes awful.
fr
Just a heads up - my local MC is already OOS on the Crucial Ram they just switched to with their bundles, so you can only get the bundles if you pay the 50$ for the G.Skill kit. If you see something you like, snag it quick
Rip
i had to double read this to make sure i read it correctly
Completing a decent new build:
9800x3d, 9070xt, x870E-P, 1000w gold
Good RAM. Will be used for gaming mostly MMOs and some heavy newer games to try since my current 1080 rig is like 12 years old and I’m a little behind.
Could anyone suggest to be a decent priced fast 1TB storage? I spent a little extra on every piece because it’s been so long, want to make sure I get something that will compliment the build vs cheaping out to save $40.
I have always used Samsung evo/pro m.2 when I built my wife her gaming rig like 6 years ago, but I’m sure times have changed. Open to other ideas.
I'd recommend 2tb minimum if it's the only drive, funnily enough, 980 pro is probably the best priced option considering everything cheaper had their prices raised or is out of stock rn
what's the diffrence between 980 and 990 pro ?
Different controller and nand, 990 pro also has higher rated write
Understood, I’m not in a major rush because I still have my old computer. Just don’t want to rush and overspend with the way storage prices are now. I also have a microcenter 30min away of that helps at all.
Microcenter does tend to have nice deals, Inland performance plus would be their in house equivalent that you can look out for
But in general there are a ton of equivalent drives, too many to list, better to check each one that's available to you
Yeah, it’s more just finding a decent deal especially if I’m going to go 2tb and haven’t seen anyone link a good hard drive in tech deals
Also not sure between 990 pro and 9100 pro at similar prices
990 pro is overpriced imo, and 9100 pro is cool but generally way overkill
Unless you have a specific task that might make use of it
Ah sorry you said 980 pro. Seems like older tech on a new comp? That’s why I was considering 1TB 980 pro for now then maybe get 1 or 2TB when storage prices drop in a year or two if I need it
It’s just gaming, I generally uninstall if I’m not playing the game so prob enough
any deal board and ddr5 combo? jeje pls
It's a bit older tech, but in reality for gaming we still don't really take advantage of anything faster than gen 3 drives, direct storage implementation has been just a year away for like 4 years now at this point
Relatively recent comparisons for reference:
https://www.techspot.com/article/3023-ssd-gaming-comparison-load-times/
With ssd prices going up recently with the AI bubble, I don't really think it's a good idea to go with anything better than a good gen 4 drive, because that will be enough even if direct storage comes around, and it's already overkill for what we can do right now
Also, the reason for suggestion 980 pro at time of writing was because it was $180 for 2tb, that seems to have sold through, so I would probably go for mp600 elite at $205 for 2tb right now, or roll the dice on nv7000-t at $177 for 2tb and hope you get the better hardware variant
No idea if they've changed the hardware or what variants there are for that so I wouldn't risk it tbh
Nv7000-t at least you know you're rolling the dice on getting 232l ymtc tlc or qlc with the same controller with 2tb
Yeah see that’s the issue I’m having. Was hoping to get a link (or DM if preferred) of the actual good variant with where these prices are coming from if possible? I went to look, but also had a hard time deciphering though all the variants and didn’t want to mess up on basically my last piece
Oh yea I usually assume people are already using pcpp, it gets you prices from most storefronts for new parts
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9nqrxr/corsair-mp600-elite-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-cssd-f2000gbmp600enh
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mL7scf/netac-nv7000-t-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-nt01nv7000t-2t0-e4x
I appreciate it and should have been clearer. I was mainly referring to the 980/990 pro over the other ones you suggested. The comparisons on these are a bit over my head, but if I don’t mind waiting prob a week or so for stock to replenish somewhere I assume that is just better regardless of the small $50 difference or so? This is a long term rig and again not trying to rush or scimp on that last piece
its nothing worth 50$ over
Mp600 elite is comparable to 990 pro, at the end of the day, I think it's best to refer to in-depth reviews that include data for both for specific performance in specific applications:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/corsair-mp600-elite-2-tb/
Oh and fyi if you do end up getting 980 pro/990 pro, update the firmware right away once you get it, there was a bug in early firmware for both that'll degrade the drive much faster than normal
Then what would you go for, if I wasn’t in a rush and trying to future proof as much as I can long term when I likely won’t be switching parts out
I don't like the prices on any drives rn but yea
I don't trust knowing what hardware is on the GameStop drive so I would rather gamble on nv7000-t instead
Yeah, no gambling on this one for me 😅
its a good drive
Like I’m spending around 2k on this pc, I don’t care about $50 for piece of mind haha
theres spending better for better, and theres overpaying
map1602 and longsys(?) nand, and the nand likely changed since then. Nv7000-t is known only map1602 with either 232l ymtc tlc/qlc, best case GameStop has the same performance, worst case is who knows what
Any recommendations on decent priced PoE switches? Running a new camera system for my home, totally spaced when I bought the switches and got non-PoE 🙃. Thankfully I can use the switches for other projects.
Still would need 2 switches with minimum portd as each are only has 3 cameras.
I got that free $10 bestbuy certificate, any recommendations for a usb C charging block around $15 or less?
Also I got the HP omnibook 5 and was wondering if I could use a slower charger without the huge PSU for on the go charging?
It’d be like a 20W anker block
Otherwise, I’m buying this hand sanitizer dispenser. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/purell-es6-automatic-wall-mounted-hand-sanitizer-dispenser-6424-01-graphite/J79C99P2YR/sku/11790510?sb_share
I would grab this GaN charger from ugreen
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/ugreen-nexode-30w-usb-c-charger-compact-foldable-gan-charger-for-iphone-series-samsung-smartphones-ipads-black/J3R84YGXHH/sku/6621054
Is this tuff in 2026
hmm i have an anker 25W one rn
is INIU a reputable brand?
haven't heard of them
Insignia?
That's best buy's store brand I believe
So its good just not high tier like UGREEN or ANKER
Yeah it's probably alright
The UGreen one being GaN is nice, especially for a laptop where you're probably going to be pulling quite a bit of power from it
but like is it safe for a laptop?
cause it comes with a 65W huge power supply
ill probably get the UGREEN one its only gonna be $2
Yeah it should just charge slower
But GaN should in theory keep the charger cooler and allow it to sustain the full 30W for longer periods
I have iniu. Its been fine for me.
One at home. And one for my desk at work
I wonder if I could tell the laptop to charge slower somewhere
It expects 65W but I’ll be using a 30W box
I believe the charger itself should slow down if it needs to

Yoo is this a deal? $200 for 5800x3d on gamestop new
This is also in fact a deal
Why is that so cheap though
maybe because for just 2 years warranty and 700tbw
Ah

Assuming you dont get a dud, should still be good
I wonder how slow it is when the cache folds though
yeah I don't think it's that bad but 2years warranty is very low for ssd
Probably meh qlc
OOS for me both in Oregon and Colorado
Probably like one random store has a few and is clearing stock
Why is this even posted?

What’s wrong with it?
It’s gone @fallen idol

Oh so not what I posted?
Nah
Ah gotcha
Anyone know a good cheap "mini-pc" that I can run firefox on and steam videos (onto my TV)?
I don't think a firefox stick would be good enough.
anything with an n100 or better would work fine for web browsing/ videos
i do have a 2 fan rtx 2060 sitting in a box but id wanna make an itx or very small matx build with it to fit on my tv console
idk if its worth it to use the 2060 for a tv box tho
i do have a google chromebook tho
most of those are too bad to do anything
Any Beelink
This seems like a good deal, especially with 16GB of ram and an almost N100 level performance https://www.amazon.com/Beelink-Generation-i5-1035G7-Processor-Computer/dp/B0CBV228M7/
You can get used hp elitedesks or similar for ~$100
Tons out there with Ryzen 2400Gs and Intel 6500s
Something like this and drop in another 8gb
https://www.ebay.com/itm/267537398425
Do you know if these have PCIE slots on the motherboard? If so, couldn't it theoretically plug in a GPU if i take the motherboard out of the case?
They do not have a pcie
They have a sata connector and m.2
And some of them have a proprietary connector to add in an optional gpu unit (I think it's a Radeon 550 or something)
Here's what mine looks like. Circled are the gpu connector (left) and where the sata ribbon connector goes (right)
I have a google chromebook with Intel UHD Graphics 600 and 4gb ram, im guessing that wouldnt be good enough
If you can, try to push your budget to the S13. I think that N150 is a lot better than that N5105
Just Ultrakill alone is $15 on its lowest recorded price, this is a pretty good deal
$12 still gets everything, i just might do it for ultrakill and haste
vampire survivors is in there too
dababy moment, less gooo
I remember when Humble Bundle had good bundles frequently. And didn't make it so you always had to pay them something. And when they used to have the Yogscast Jingle Jam Bundle
What would really top off that humble bundle is if they included balatro

Any portable monitor deals under $60? I missed the msi refurbished one on woot 😭
Idk if buying an offbrand one is worth it on amazon
What is the offbrand
https://a.co/d/cpIu3Jc I got this for Christmas and loving it
1080P-60hz-ips-matte
$50^
It's like interhill and azroppa etc
Just brands I'm not really familiar with like KTC, MSI, Asrock etc
Ohh this looks good!
Aw man it doesn't say latency though, I wanted to at least get 4ms for light gaming 😢
GeForce now makes sense with ram prices right?
Not exactly when they're raising prices and adding hour limits
Only if you play games for a limited number of hours per month. If I remember correctly, extra hours can get costly.
It says 100 hours per month with 6 hours per day maximum
My friend doesn’t play that much anyways so I think it’d be a good option for him
He has one of those things where you do work for money all day
People run into issues with new game releases and wanting to play all weekend.
The 6 hours per day can really limit the enjoyment.
game support and mod support can be pretty annoying
the current hour limits aren't that bad but they're just a sign of what's to come
Yeah but like for a few months it’d work and maybe he will get his own pc
don't go for any of the long term options, get them to try a month and see how it goes
the latency can be very annoying, especially if network conditions aren't completely ideal
woah I heard of those before
He doesn’t do heavy competitive
I mean it's bad enough to affect single player rpg games
Hm
depending on network conditions
Well they do have the free plan for 1 hour to try
they should try it out but don't bet on it
I guess another option is a used gaming laptop cause those lose value super quick
Finding a used PC might be worth it over GeForce Now if things such as latency and hour limits matter.
Any deals on surge protectors lately? And what should I look for in surge protectors?
There's this small guy on sale rn
https://a.co/d/7a8KjeA
Whoaa that's amazing! So many outlets
Thank you!
Also just to make sure since US outlets is 1500W I can only have less than that all together right?
1800 for 15 amp and 2400 for 20 amp circuit
Yeah smart use of space with the side outlets
But it might get messy or take up a lot of space if cables are plugged in on all sides
I would use the top ones first and then go out if needed
🫡
Assuming you have it on the floor
Just ordered, that's crazy I think the old tripplite one I purchased a while back was like only 1000 ish joules and was 32 bucks
I'll have it on my desk
If you have it under the desk then it won't matter
Speaking of mounting I really gotta mount mine
Is TUV listed similiar to UL listed?
This being on the floor aint it fr
https://a.co/d/6omUcMq
So many plugs ahaha
tuv is preferred in europe and ul for north america
so i guess the european version
it seems that ul is more rigorous than tuv but i actually dont know much
as long as it has tuv or ul it should be good from my normie pov
main reason i got mine was the spacing between the outlets and was also conveniently on sale
Oh wait that's true spacing on outlets is important
Alright Imma check my plugs just in case
yeah but that one i linked earlier has good spacing
in fact it has even more than mine
Ahh yeah it does whewww
believe it or not i was having a spacing issue a few days ago but got around it
even on that chungus
Wait how do you find out spacing? I can't find the listing
here
that is from the listing
Ahh I see wow 2.2 inches yeah that should be plenty
Gonna be fair, after current usage it seems to be a basic 1080p monitor which is perfect for any console/pc at the cost and size
Just highly avoid using HDR on it, you will meet the maker’s light from the beginning of time
Okk that's my backup option if I don't find any other big brand portable monitors for a good price
What does this mean? 😭
Just gets washed out with brightness
Ok peoples! Lets Rock this....one.:} My Main rig is not the subject of todays enquiry. Which is on the trade in I am about to do with Newegg. The offer was a buck of my backup rigs gpu upgrade. Bouta use ChatGPT for the first time to get a tldr
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-6950-xt.c3875 I think you're looking for something like that. 9070 or 9070xt probably make the most sense depending on available pricing.
What in the block of text.
All that exposition just to ask for a GPU reccomendation essentially.

I did actually respond in #graphics-cards smh

Actually it’s not bad
If there's a MicroCenter near you or if you'd like to try pricematching with Best Buy
Hey @jade prawn is this still a good deal
wtf 💀

Seriously 🚫
Is $90 for a 4TB WD Black P10 a good deal?
Target clearance
In store
Is it really that insane of a deal?
Then it’s legit
A 2tb P10 directly from WD is currently $90, so yes
The 4tb ones are usually 140-150
I didn't think hdds had gotten that bad too.
P10s are external drives. An internal WD blue drive is $75 for 4tb right now and a WD black hard drive is like, $170 right now for 4tb
Actually, the PCPP listing is wrong, it is $100
For a blue 4tb
22.5/tb is crazy ok
If it's in store they probably only have a handful left and wanna clear stock
Oh wait is it a hard drive
I haven't seriously looked at hard drives in years. The last one I bought was an 8tb external for $100, $120 something like that.
Ohhhh it is a hard drive my bad
They've gone up starting in September
130mb/s isn't too bad for a 2.5" disk
Wouldn't reccomend gaming off of a hdd in the big 26 but it could be good for media and/or backups
$0.0225 per gb is cheaper than anything listed on PCPP for hard drives with a valid price right now
And isn't super high density
When compared to internal drives that is
Besides Barracudas
Yeah also with hard drives it's nice to have a new one with full warranty
My thing just updated and Amazon is selling 4tb Barracudas for $80
Looks like pretty similar specs. Both 5400rpm and 256mb cache
Unfortunately the P10 has soldered circuitry so a shuck is difficult
Idk if it’s not crazy I’m not gonna get it
I wouldn't buy it unless you need the storage rn
I don't see hard drive prices increasing
They have been on a slow rise
... I mean they don't use much ram/nand
I guess if ssds are crazy expensive maybe HDDs would rise a little
They have been rising, specifically in higher density categories
Interesting
WD also increased their hard drive prices across the board
That $100 WD Blue 4tb was $85 back in September. Then they did a price drop in October and in the last week or two of October they raised it to $100
I feel like some amount of fluctuation is fairly normal
Fake sales etc
We'll have to watch longer term I suppose
I was just thinking about setting up a large storage for movies n stuff
hdds are fine for that
I use an HDD for games I don’t play often
I use one for smol and or old games that weren't made with SSDs in mind
Bro tryna buy old dell pcs from my university e waste thingy
But the only options are like lots of 70+ desktops lol
They got a ton of Macs but idk if I could use that for a tv pc
Bulk buys are their man stuff man
Happens all the time
But them at $10 a piece and then resell them to me on eBay for $70
Or even they could just pull the 8gb of ram out and make a profit
I think I should just make a pc
I’m swapping out of my lian li a3 which would look kinda cool sitting below my tv
Then I could at least use my rtx 2060 for something.
Comes with cpu
Cooler comes as gift with cpu even without ram combo
Ah so just add to cart
Yeah add cpu to cart and it will add as gift item

Woohoo good deal war_pig
The 9800X3D advertised price was bait and switch. Originally it was $399.99, but shortly before the sale I received another sale email with an updated price of $449.99. It only showed up as $449.99 after the discoutn code. #tech-deals message
Even 1 minute after the sale started(noon my local time) the $449.99 price was displayed. Were there only a dozen at the $399.99 price?
Probably. The good door buster deals have been botted out in seconds before because of low quantity.
At first I thought, its amazing how companies can't make good anti bot protection, then I realized they don't care about anti bot protection as long as they sell products.
Stuff like that where it's priced so well that it's meant to be an advertisement they should care about keeping bots out. The whole point is to build goodwill and get traffic from real people on their site hoping they'll come back next time they need something.
Maybe they just want to get people looking at the $450 price, clear some inventory before the 9850x3d comes out and pushes the price down and/or results in the 9800 getting discontinued. Making people feel like they missed out on $400 doesn't feel like a good way to encourage them to bite at $450 though.
it brings in sales, thus they just don't bother with bot protection
if a bought a deal of ryzen 5 9600X + msi mag a13 black for $199 (1/16/2026) and now its $185, i can claim for refund of this 15 dollars?
@foggy coral
Thx
cl38, but for $200 in this ram economy
Did asrock fix frying cpu’s tho? Or was that resolved in some other way?
it wasn't, and now Asus are frying X3D too, seems like these CPUs are simply too fragile
do they not do performance tests before they release new cpus or new motherboards into market?
Sometimes
You gotta dig
What are you looking for?
They do performance tests. But a company can only do so many tests.
They don’t have every single configuration of possibilities.
For example, let’s say I am the company.
I can test for about 100 things in 100 hours.
The 10000 people who buy my product can test the same amount in the same time, so that’s many multitudes more tests and stresses that I cannot do within that timeframe, thus have no results for.
mm makes sense
At least asrock has been trying to do something about it
The other companies are just kinda like whatever
But asrock releases multiple versions
they were releasing something new like every month last year
yeah they did
They are still killing them
are they? ive only heard that its been fixed
As far as I’ve seen(I’m not too into that space), it’s very very rare
which is better
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT
the motherboard and AIO are cheaper
but
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, NZXT H9 Flow (2025) ATX Mid Tower
the AIO and motherboard are more expensive in this one, but buying both the motherboard & AIO for 590
is the deal worth or not?
does it rlly make it difference? should I go cheap or secure this deal rn?
Probably what happened is the number of deaths went down
But they are still dying
And still more than other brands
It does not
Get the cheaper one
And honestly you can get away with a 7800x3d
Damn it’s like 380 everywhere idk then
For 450 98x3d would be better long term
Also you can get an even cheaper board tbh
Can you rlly go cheaper? Some board are quicker than others
And some aren't compatible with Ram sticks that are 6000 if I remember correctly
Def don't want those types
Everything I ain't for long term too
AIO seems rlly nice plus it could go up to 2800 RPM; don't care about noise
We're pretty far past Intel's locking boards to frequencies era, these boards are all unlocked, board to board variations only really come into play at like 7000-8000+, most of the time, your imc is going to be your limiting factor before your mobo.
Even though Asrock has been dealing with the 9800x3d deaths for a while, it's still pretty unclear if the origin of the issues have been solved, the only thing that's for sure is that reports have gone down in frequency
Although there has also been some reports of Asus boards with 9800x3d deaths in the past few days, but the numbers are still low for now
Would also refer to actual testing results and not just looking at rpm, rpm being too high isn't necessarily a good thing, like on the old deepcool ls720, where the pump was too strong and running at 100% led to worse performance because of the extra turbulence lol, there's also how coldplate, radiator, and fan design will affect the end performance significantly beyond the pump performance
I see, I guess I can still roll out the 200 buck motherboard, but the AIO, I'll do some proper research cuz that thang looks sick
Want it to work great as its looks
I’ve built 70+ rigs in the last year and virtually any B650/B850 board that has the features you want/need* will run everything completely fine
If you want to overpay for the look of the AIO feel free, but just know that a 50 thermalright or 100 montech option is more than enough. Anything past that is aesthetics.
Is B650 that much different from A620? Imo A620 is totally ok unless you want extra connectivity
A620 is just not worth the savings with how affordable B650 is at this point. Pretty easy to get B650 for 65-125$ at this point depending on where you source it
and also one of the MAIN points of am5 is upgradability, which an a620 defeats that entire purpose
How? Future CPU's won't work on A620?
unless you're going for something like 7900x almost any a620 vrm is fine
not even
any cpu better than a r5, you want better than an a620
just avoid them at all costs, its not a good chipset and they dont have much one them
My main problem with a620 is going to be the IO lol, chipset being gen 3 can be very annoying when you're adding extra drives, as well as worse throughput on the USB ports
VRMs are going to depend on the exact board, they tend to be worse because the boards tend to be a lot cheaper
I mean market floating with cheap b650/b850s right now . Especially ebay (thanks to newegg combos)
unfortunately cheap itx is scarce
its a 30$ difference for a new itx a620 vs b650, or an extra 10 off that for a b850
thats very much worth it
My am4 jginyue doesn't support windows sleep but other than that works perfectly
Sleep may be fixed for the am5 boards
8+2+1 vrms
What would this be worth if I swapped the rx7600 for a rx7800xt?
At that price I think you're either getting a 5050 or integrated graphics
ngl a 5050 would probably be fine
i heard some of the new intel igpus (laptops) are okay for gaming or is that just marketing
Nvm the 5050 deal is oos
oof
I don't know much about the modern igpus but they've gotten pretty good on both Intel and ryzen
r/laptopdeals is a good starting point but you'll have to find an igpu tier list or something
Uh… no
At $500 you're realistically looking at used and maybe a 3050/ti but if you can find a cheap enough 4050 that's likely a big upgrade. What sort of games?

Oh nice
Unfortunate how the gaming laptop market is so much worse than the general use laptop market
Qualcomm AMD and Intel are all fighting fiercely
for current stuff the 288v is awesome, i found a 2tb 32gb 288v 3k oled laptop for 1k the other week
Best buy has fairly consistently had 16gb oled snapdragon laptops for 5-600
For the right person it's good
Nah
MacBook alternative type beat
Web browsing machine that will have great battery life
Though I do think some of the new Ryzen an Intel offerings have gotten a lot better battery life wise
Not that 8gb macbooks are bad, but at this point if you wanna buy something and have it last like 8 years you probably want more than 8gb
And the 16gb Macbooks get pretty expensive
trying to bling up my future build with lian li RGB cables, but r expensive, any other known brands that are cheaper?
ooo
8 reviews, low sold, crazy delivery time
https://www.amazon.com/Sirlyr-RGB-LED-Strips-Cables/dp/B0FJ1WBPDZ cheaper, better shipping time and on amazon
u r the best
Do not consider anything other than the Lenovo legion or LOQ IMO
Best Buy open box can be a gold
mine (I got my 5050 LOQ there) but also the MC 5060 Legion is a good deal.
Jarrod’s Tech has the best tracker https://gaminglaptop.deals/
IMO the build quality of the Lenovo’s can’t be beat.
as a legion 5 owner, should be aware that the screen connector piece is extremely fragile and can't easily be fixed without a new screen lol
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, NZXT H9 Flow (2025) ATX Mid Tower
got two from the list already
looking for cheaper 140mm fans that are similar to the lian li 140mm reversed with magnet connection capabilities
also looking for cheaper RGB PSU cables, ones w the PSU cables already embedded into them
I'd just swap the really expensive rog cooler for a thermalright, they have ones with a screen like that for around $100 or with a big curved screen like a tryx knockoff for around $200. Then get the nice lian li stuff if you want it.
ogh I already bought a ROG cooler, got it for 300 flat brand new
I'd be down to get lian li stuff if there isn't any cheaper exact copies
I don't think there are cheaper ones at the same quality level. Corsair and thermaltake have nice ones with similar features but they're not cheap. The cheap ones like thermalright or aliE brand aren't as nice, both for the cabling and the leds.
And the actual fans. The lian li and corsair are actual good fans not just good fans for argb fans.
big thanks man, lian li it is
gonna try finding if there is any good lian li PSU RGB cable copies
Strimer? There are knockoffs. Might be the same story with quality.
Not sure on that though, I always thougth they just look gaudy.
yeah some of them don't have as much RGB
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWPH5N38?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1 vs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DS2QG2KW?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
better than both?
The graphics cards in the tier list (link below):
PowerColor Reaper (Dual Fan): https://amzn.to/4fRC3qc
ASUS Dual: https://amzn.to/45Nc0vR
ASRock Challenger (Dual Fan): https://amzn.to/45RhLZp
XFX Swift (Dual Fan): https://amzn.to/3UC9DH0
Sapphire Pure (Dual Fan): https://amzn.to/4fKy26K
Sapphire Pulse (Dual Fan): https://amzn.to/4ms8Gx4
PowerC...
came across this too
It is basically the same thermals as the gigabyte, both are pretty warm
Just that the asrock is white but cheaper
The xfx is better but it costs much more
down for that
The gigabyte draws ~10% more power and is slightly hotter than the steel legend by a couple degrees, so they are basically the same
If you want to spend less then get the steel legend if you want white
since it draws more power = better performance?
It also depends on the binning
A worse binned chip at more power would be the same as a better bin at reference spec
oo
The difference is not worth the additional $100
In relation to the xfx
You can just get a steel legend and tweak it a bit to match the sapphire
ahhh I see
I think I net about a ~7-8% increase with my 9070 steel legend, which is pulling 240w out of the box, which is higher than the reference spec
So I basically match a reference 9070 xt
But you can do the same with the xt and get even further
bet, thanks tech man
taichi OC seems pretty good too
might just pick taichi oc instead
That 12v connector is…
wdym
It uses a 12vhpwr connector
Which is known to have issues
I’d honestly just get the cheapest card that you like how it looks
Looks to be a gaming oc or a steel legend for black/white
ooo alr

new build now : p
alr bought the case and AIO; time to buy the CPU and motherboard next
uhh
why is the aio almost 400$
also 240 for a board is wild
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tTjPmC if you can return the aio still do so, heres the other parts id recommend
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, NZXT H9 Flow (2025) ATX Mid Tower
(quite literally saves over 700 without me even changing the case)
If you wanted to save even more you could get the 7800x3d but I don't know the current price
Not really sure if it is worth
374
Well it at least brings it just under 1600
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vzd4t3 diff case to get to 1512
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li Vector V100 ATX Mid Tower
