I can't remember a time when air wasn't the more decent half of apple ngl
Mini too, mini's can be quite nice
I would like a keyboard tho
you can get a keyboard with the Air, however I wouldn't recommend Apple's keyboard unless you can get it cheap used. it's incredibly overpriced and not durable at all
Was looking at the logitech one
Gonna post in hardware swap trade a laptop I have hanging around for a ipad
3060, 64gbs of ddr4, used prob 12 hours total no oil even on the keys, 17" , etc.
Should be able to get one
Really good laptop, should be able to sell it and get a pro
How do you protect yourself froms scammers on there, I see most use paypal?
must use paypal invoice/goods and services exclusively
never use FnF
you can get a pro for that, def don't post it as a trade. Just sell it and buy a cheap ipad and pocket the extra like $500
What should I ask, it has a little overheating problem so maybe 600
700
700 easy
probably 700 yeah, if it's got a good ryzen or 12th gen+ intel cpu
500-600 if it's got 10th-11th gen or a low end ryzen processor
can get a solid ipad for 200ish
I got my 3050 ti/ 11400h laptop for $420 (screen defect), so if yours is still in good condition and has better specs you should be able to get quite a bit for it
Asus TUF706HM - ES76
I7 - 18000H @ 2.30 GHz
Ram - 64gbs
Storage - 2tbs
GPU - RTX 3060
Ight
start with like $800, and gradually lower the price if nobody buys it
Gonna post soon, lot's of stuff you have to add to the post to be approved lol
Lol, that's a good thing
Ime basically all earphones get uncomfortable after a few hours, and yeah needs adjusting sometimes but if your ears get irritated when you use in ears, like i do it's the best option
my friend keeps trying to tell me that I wasted my money on headphones and iems are so much better for the price but I have the same issue. gets uncomfortable after a while and shifting just slightly annoys me. I also have earwax problems when using iems for a few days consecutively
I just don't want little cones in my ears
the comfort I can deal with. the ear clogging I can't. I already had to go to a ear doctor to clear out my ear once, don't want to have to go through that again
I want to clear my ears out
I need that
Would I use it at my desktop? No. When I'm around the house or maybe even traveling? All the time
yeah I would say it has a place but I am not personally a fan of replacing desktop audio with iems
heck no
Because I'm not the only one in the house
And my music taste is vastly different from everybody else's in this house
Headpone
ye
Assert dominance smh my head
Against a house full of country listeners? 💀
They already consider me a rebel despite being normal and they're political radical (for the obvious side. I don't want to break the rules here)
Country?
that's what I do
country music
my music taste is clearly the best
just general country
maybe not country pop though
like George Straight type country. just the normal stuff
I just assume country means country pop because that's what it ends up being 90% of the time
ye not that
If it ain't from the 1930s it's country pop fr ‼️
lol it wouldn't be known as contemporary country?
Idk
contemporary makes sense to me
sub genres are too difficult to keep track of
because country pop to me is like old Taylor Swift (bad example but the first example I could think of)
Country pop is when the country pops ‼️
I just see it as whatever they put on the radio that everyone listens to like fast food
It drives me crazy when people say that like Zach Bryan and Morgan Walker are really country
If your family listens to older country you should listen to newer "country" and just insist it's real country lol
Where's the deal discussion
@grand orbit
Is the pc i linked in the deal channel better than this ? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-zephyrus-m16-16165hz-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i9-16gb-ddr5-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-1tb-pcie-4-0-ssd-off-black/6494637.p?skuId=6494637
Both are on sale down cheap
9 number bigger than 7 number
There was even a rtx3080 version of the hp opem 40l down to 439
Anybody who finds those two deals in stock is it availble for shipping none around me have them im tyring to find a store to pricematch it but am having no luck at all
Price before links plz, & this low of stock might as well just put em on this channel, but that's just me.
does new egg pricematch?
Sometimes, only when they have "price match guarantee" on an item page
Now they might process it
I might stop at bestbuy/walmart to see if they have those on the shelf and i could pricematch it
Question does Best Buy not update the app to show instock when they get more in for any location
Well I’ll figure out tomorrow when I go into Best Buy which ever they have I’m gonna get
If the 4070 super is actually available for MSRP, does that make the 6900 XT/6050 XT for $600 less of a deal?
6900xt ye, 6950xt a lil bit
The performance difference between the 6900 XT and 6950 XT of the same manufacturer and model is so small that I don't see it being a difference on what is a good deal. A difference of 2% to 5% depending on the game and resolution.
They did use slightly better memory and bumped the power on the 6950 XT so it can overclock a little better, but comparing stock performance you are correct
Finally online order that's not through third party, lets see if they also managed to do this for other countries than US
They do not... But they made it a lil cleaner
@tawdry dragon @lime pier What other marketplace did you say had good deals on iPads?
I’m in hardwareswap
I don't think that was me
Also should I buy it to replace my z690 asus tuf gaming d4?
That depends on which CPU you have or plan to get, but all 700 series boards will support all 13th gen desktop chips on a technical level
Ah, I guess my name got deleted but I have that 13600k and 7800xt pair
I really want that 4070 super idk why 😭
13600k will lose about 15% of its potential performance using DDR4. Whether that's worth buying a new motherboard for is up to you.
As for the 4070 Super, it is currently the best value nvidia card and wouldn't be a bad buy at MSRP if you really want the nvidia extra features.
Looking at benchmarks rn, really doesn’t seem worth for 5-10 fps for 100$ more
That DLSS 3 and RT is promising but I’ll keep my 7800xt at this point
Though I really do want an upgrade to ddr5, just a 270$ upgrade I might aswell go with AM5 right
If you already have the 7800 XT I wouldn't even consider the 4070S, it's basically the same performance
Ya I wouldn’t, just the “new” impulse buy
But with the upgrade, wouldn’t it be better to just sell my cpu, mobo, and put it towards AM5 than LGA1700 upgrade?
I'd wait to upgrade until next gen AMD in a couple months tbh. 8000 series is supposed to be on par with 7000X3D in gaming with none of the drawbacks.
Hmm I thought that was for AI though
Considering it’s integrated graphics and etc
Unless you mean the 8000s gaming series?
That's 8000G series, which is just 7000 with a better APU
Ah
8800X3D when
It's not in the plans so far. No leaks of roadmaps have shown it.
But we are getting 12 core CCDs
Wryyyyyy
Instead of 8
Why is that good?
Like
Doesn't more cores in CCD mean less cache?
Cuz I'd assume it's gonna be 4 Zen 4 and 8 Zen 4c for the 12 cores per CCD
The only reason to avoid chips like the 7900X was in order to get 12 cores, you need 2x 6 core CCDs, and when the cores have to communicate between the CCDs there's a latency penalty. With a 12 core CCD, no latency penalty, best gamer CPU becomes a 12c/24t
Tbf Zen 4c still full fat cores
But less cache
No it's a new process node that's allowing them to shrink things
3nm iirc
Yields might suck at that tbf
And who knows, maybe they'll make 6 cores with more cache in a single CCD
That'd be pretty based for gaming
It's been around for a while so TSMC should have it down by now
I guess we'll see
I'm frankly more hyped for the APUs (cuz my sisters REAAAAAAALLY need a new computer)
8700G being able to do 1080p high refresh in fps games with FSR on is nice
Ikr?
It's perfect for my sisters who only watch Netflix or play low spec stuff (Minecraft at most)
And since I wanna replace my mobo and case anyway, they can have my current ones (tho I'll have to chuck 2 fans in the case so there is some airflow)
Just need to figure out BIOS updates
It'll be low-key perfect for them
Have you seen anything on cost for it?
Yes but we all know how often that changes
What would be interesting is
X3D APUs
I doubt it'll happen because it'd probably be too good
But the thought experiment is interesting to me
They've done weird things with 3D cache in their internal testing. Who knows.
Unless something like a sudden crypto surge happens I doubt it'll come to market
Or another bout of lockdown surging demand for GPUs
But if I'm wrong and they become a thing anyway
I'm getting one lmao
AMD gave up on the low power, low end market so a 3D APU could be a godsend for people that can't add a higher power GPU to their prebuilt
I mean
I'd imagine prebuilts straight up just not coming with a GPU if that becomes a thing
That's already a thing
And go like super cheap ~400 bucks total
I mean yes but a prebuilt with an 8 core x3D APU and no GPU wouldn't suck
And it's still an X3D chip so you can slap a GPU into it later if you so desire (assuming you also upgrade the PSU because such a rig would only have like a 250w)
I doubt they would do an x3d apu
Unless the graphics in the chip become powerful enough to use the speed of x3d
it'd be cool, but the gpu would be severely limiting
Yeah it'd be counter intuitive
The whole point of x3d is stronger gaming performance
While the newer apus are capable of gaming, they're very entry level. Nowhere near 5600x3d level, let alone 7800x3d
Yup
This chart doesn't show it but the igpu downgrades alongaide the cpu
Hm, do you know what cpus have which igpus?
I might pick up an 8500g or 8600g depending
Hm alright
I might just go for a used cpu and gpu over a new apu
I think these'll be showing up more frequently in mini pcs
Iirc I watched some yt video and they said the 740 is a pretty considerable decrease from the 780/60
Yeah I've got a while before I'm deciding anything anyways, It's gonna be at least a few months till I'm buying
Might as well just get a 7600+rx580 bundle for the price, unless you need that low power low heat type deal (instead of 8700g)
Maybe I'll upgrade my 3060 ti with a 4070 super and put the 3060 ti in the new build
12cu -> 8cu -> 4cu
It's going to be cool seeing how the apus scale with hynix tuning
I wonder if it'll be a similar thing with 5600g/5700g where they could handle like 4000mhz-4400mhz gear 1 and the igpu performance soared
Yeah for people doing their own builds I think the 8600G will the the popular choice
Any idea how the cpu perf compares to current gen?
Will it just be a 7600 with less cache and a better igpu?
Not sure
I forgot that 7600 had an igpu
Could see lower cpu clocks maybe? iirc the 5600G is considerably worse than the 5600
Oh ok
5600g is a 5500 with an igpu
pcie 3.0 be like
5500 similar to 3600 right?
I think so
Eh
5500 is better, but side by side its not a huge difference
5500 close to 3600 than 5600
Me personally is very excited for 5700x3d
I have 2 kinda barebones am4 systens, one at home and one at school (travel with gpu/cpu/storage). So upgrading to am5 kinda means 2 motherboard upgrades
Still doin alright with my 5600x for now though
That's what I like about my lga 1700 platform, I can get the worst of the worst, or the best of the best on the same motherboard.
Although I have a ddr4 board so that's a limitation
@lapis parcel you gotta include price and description in the message
ok sorry
no youre good, just letting you know
When did maingear start making laptops idk if ive ever seen one before
It's fairly recent. Last couple years maybe?
I'd say they set stock to 0 because meant 200$
lol, probably
Same panel? It can be either LG or Samsung
I was told incorrectly then, my bad. Is one superior?
Depends more on firmware tuning
There's some new ones coming this year too

39" WOLED ultrawide
Yes it can, you're just not playing games that can
you gonna need bare minimum 3080s sometime soon
Minesweep is the easiest game to run and even a 4090 cant run it at >69fps on 1440p. So idk about that man.
The only time you’re gonna get 300+ fps on 1440p ultra settings is when you got two 4090s hooked up to your monitor on Tetris
Your not gonna worry about the dusk stage and make it 10x difficult with the refresh rate being so fresh
A lot of game engines won't even let you get over 300 fps
fps that high kinda just becomes overkill on any pixel density unless you play pro, and even then its still overkill honestly
Well there’s actual good things with such high frame monitors
Cause there was a video about the delay you see
But tbf it’s best on 1080p competitive
I think we might see a transition to 1440p OLED being the go to for competitive play
I'll take a 120hz OLED over any 480hz monitor
I've been stuck on 60hz for over 9 years
75 was a big jump from that
But I'd imagine that 100+ will be even bigger
I mainly play valorant and would LOVE an oled
I was on 60hz most of my life, then I made kind of a stupid decision to buy an overpriced dell 1080p 120hz monitor, but it was the best playing experience that I had up to that point.
Yeah 120hz is a big jump if your GPU can do it
I was running 720p 60hz on a 32" monitor/tv thing
that was before I got the 120hz monitor
My main monitor now is a 32" 1440p 144hz monitor
32" 16:9 displays kind of border between monitor and tv imo
Like 30~% off
Not the best, but still something
I feel like that boundary is a little closer to 40 inches
It's up to the individual, and it's one of those things you can change your mind on later
I’ve had a 32” tv at one point, and that felt big playing games on
I play a lot of immersive games and the larger screens amplify that
Anything over 27” for just a one monitor setup feels strange
If you’re doing multiple monitors/business stuff, larger monitors are more understandable imo
Thats the tv i was stuck on until literally like 6 months ago lol
Now im rocking my 27" 1440p 180hz and i dont think i could ever go back 😭
Thing is, for a good 5-10 years my family used a 32" as a TV, so that's what I'm used to
Plenty depending on seating distance of course. 27" was plenty in my bedroom, 32" was decent in my living room. No I would probably get 40-45", partly to "largen" stuff on screen a bit and not feel like needing binoculars at times.
I have a legitimate 32" LCD TV from like a decade ago
it's got massive bezels to make it look larger
ooo that acer
My 32" Sceptre monitor's backlight went out
You can usually replace that. But make sure it's fully discharged first, the light often uses AC current and will give you a good zap.
When whill newegg stop bundling up that trash ram kit
When people buy it and it runs out of stock. Because it's a bundle option from low sales usually.
Lol . I have bunch of them and it's worst kit in the market I'd say
That heatsink literally does nothing. Ram heating up to 55-57C easily
Even worse than the 2x8gb 4400 c40 kit?
Lol I comparing them to regular kits in market like teamgroup etc . Teamgroup kit sitting at 38C in same build that kit hits 57C
Btw teamgroup kits mostly decent this gen
What kit in question even
That ripjaws s5 kit newegg bundling all the time
I don't even remember what brand ripjaws is lol

Ah
Is the newest post on deals a scam?
if you're talking about that "we like bonus" guy, more than likely yes
@bleak maple another one in #tech-deals
idk maybe not. feels like a weird bot
@mortal blaze it's a scam
That seller has put up a lot of random listings of tech at odd, low prices to scam people
No.
@azure pond u mean to delete, true?
Thanks
Oh your English was perfect, no worries
Oops
Anyone who gets mad at a non native English speaker for not knowing English properly is an idiot anyways
Niceee

Anyone else having the issue when you use the $20 coupon on tiktok it says to use a different payment method. Wonder if they are starting to track people making new accounts 😅
I’ve had that issue before
It’s just a glitch.
What you gotta do is either reset the whole thing or sign and out and sign in
I tried switching from one account to another. Not sure if that's the same as signing out. But I'll give that a go.
I tried my debit my credit and through zip and affirm. All said choose different payment method. I'm like damn they caught me 😂
I had that issue I think, try switching to another device
In BlueStacks you can make another instance which emulates a different phone
Would?
If you can see in person maybe but those are usually floor models but it isn’t oled so it shouldn’t be burned it or anything like
Is there a way I can use my Amazon balance to buy something on Newegg
Buy a Newegg gift card from Amazon?
I looked for those but didn’t see them
That was my only idea so 🤷♂️
Can’t buy gift cards with Amazon balance
So they say but there are a lot of third party sellers that might not categorize their items right to trigger that
Almost enough for a 7900xt 😏
Hopefully we see the 7900 XT drop a bit in price with the new nvidia cards on the market. Then you'll be even closer.
Yeah going to keep trying to hold out and maybe go xtx
or 4080 super 🙂
Already down to that amazing price of 710, definitely in prep for that 4070ti super launch
The super tie

How'd you get that much gift card balance 💀
It’s crazy to think a Ti Super exists
Super tie
Sorry busy day. But trading in abandoned phones from work and I get virtual visas from Samsung for selling their phones
ah alright

That sounds cracked
How tf do I get that job
Like from the lost and found box? 💀
Hook me up???
Also I’m sure there’s a way for you to downpay on Amazon with certain cards
Who tf have you a gift card that much
^
While I probably could make much more selling them privately, used marketplace is a headache.
Sort of. Everytime I work a different store there are phones that may have been supposed to be trade ins from years ago or no one knows why they are there or where they came from.
If they're old enough it probably isn't worth it to sell used
Less time spent per dollar gained.
But you also don't have to worry about the buyer trying to scam you
The scam is already upfront with the below-market-value offer
You must be lucky and have experience have the top 1% of buyers of used electronics. LOL
Hlaf the people who message me on hardwareswap can't make up their mind if they actually want the item, then many want to haggle over a few dollars in the shipping cost of a $200+ item.
Amazon gave me $120 for a cracked front and back note 20 with pen missing.
ikr, they have the mentality of a child when it comes to communication and their finances or something lmao
they'd give me that much for an s20 fe in mint condition lol
Yes the "buyers" in hardwareswap have a skill issue with actually buying something without being annoying.
If I did that I wouldn't have any buyers there because most of them are bad ones.
They are no different thans ellign onlien anywhere else.
Yes my personal experiences of selling online for years are invalid and wrong because you didn't have the same experiences. lol
Butthurt? that's funny. I'm just calling you out on your BS of thinking that hardwareswap buyers are any different than any other online marketplace.
shush 🤫 🧏
shush 🤫 🧏
Reddit hardwareswap is no different than any other enthusiast hardware or electronics forum or marketplace.
Ebay gonna send you the live spiders for that one
They all have plenty of annoying buyers who can decide if they want to actually buy the item or just chat about it for a week, want to bicker over $2 or $3 in shipping charges on items that are $200 and up and so many lowball everyone for half the item's average selling price. To say hardwareswap is any better is an exaggeration.
I've had plenty of tire kickers on hardwareswap over the years. Quite a high ratio compared to serious buyers. Also plenty who ask 2 days after an item is listed "is it still available?" THen you respond that it is and they neevr reply back.
I view it no different than any other computer/gaming forum for slae section or online markerplace for comptuers or electronics. They are all the same.
Obviously we disagree and will never agree on it. In my experience its no different than anywhere else in terms of the amount of time and effort to sell something. You think its the easiest thing ever.
This went off the rails at an interesting juncture
I think it be best if there's an agree to disagree here
I tried #tech-deals-discussion message
He is a hardwareswap mod so obviously he will disagree. lol
Doesn't really matter if he was the king of france, I'd still say it
Lol
Not worth arguing over
Good lord, I don't think I've ever seen so many downvotes 💀
Rightfully so but jesus
It needs more downvotes
did it beat the record of that one time i posted an x99 board
i believe so
sheeeesh
that makes my x99 deal posts valid
i should post some more for old times' sake
That one?
Ultra valid
What we actually need is a bad 3080Ti deal with 100 upvotes
I'm more just impressed that seemingly 19 or more people were so disappointed they were unified enough to downvote it 19 times equally

Finally Epic has another decent game for free. It's been a month since anything worth considering dropped.
Prolly spent $$$ on the winter holiday giveaway
Outer Worlds, destiny 2 collection, saints row, guardians of the galaxy, ghost runner, fallout 3
Welcome to the addiction
Not in a good way I've heard. They fired most of the community support team right after that team won awards.
They started bleeding players and the latest expansion was mid (so I heard)
It was layoff times for the industry
As much as I hated the layoff, a majority of the layoffs were from very old positions
Also that is true, which basically guaranteed that layoff was going to happen
Sony has a grip on their business and they ain’t letting go again
Which is going to cost them greatly
Support team for current games + the whole team for Blizzards Survival game that was still being worked on until literally today = old positions?
Oh wait, Bungie layoffs, not Xbox layoffs
I'll sell you my 3080 ti for a 1500$ /s
I'll do that if you buy my 3060 ti for $1000
Eww 8gb vram
I bet the 12gb of vram on my non ti 3060 will bring up the price
/s
3060 ti 16gb vram when
Replace the ram modules yourself
Too much effort. Would rather let Nvidia charge me 200$ extra for it.
I seriously can't believe Nvidia put only 8gb of vram on a 1080p/lower end 1440p card 😡😡 it's not going to be FuTuRe PrOoF so I'm going to buy a 3060 instead 😤😤
I'm really curious what they were thinking with the 4060
Their entire selling point on the 3060 was its vram
Now the 4060 is the same performance with less vram
At the same price
It's just plain funny
Value before 40 series launch across the board was so much better
Mid end, low end is 4050
4050 sells as a desktop card now?
But then again, 4060Ti is technically XX50 tier (no, I will never let this die)
Can I actually just say. If 4050 dropped at like
240?
250?
It wouldn't be too bad
Maybe less, 220?
4050m isn't that bad at all
the world needs cheap 1080p gpus
6gb vram fine at 1080p

Dont think so, but Nvidia is marketing their lowest end available Ada as mid end.
In a way yes
It is mid end

4060 already performs around 2070
My new pfp
4050 would at best be 2060s
Ehhh
If anyone asks why I'm a tractor now, tell them it's the new rtx 4050 ti super
6650xt was that price at 2070 super performance what, 2 and a half years ago?
$220 3050?
If 4050 comes out around 2060-2060s performance, max $180 imo
How is that gonna fit in my pc
It's fitting rn
Just look at it
It's right there
Inside your screen
Almost back to sub 2500 maximum performance

Oh I guess if you do a 1tb drive it gets there

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
From what I've seen on Reddit, the xx60 copers have shifted from "moar vram, FuTuRe PrOoF" to "better dlss/frame gen/RT"
Though there does seem to be less sentiment for the 4060 than 3060 (thankfully)
Yeah. The only real improvements over those are RT performance and VR cause vram iirc
Like 3050 is an okay VR GPU depending on your games. Some of the most popular VR titles like beat saber, blade and sorcery, Skyrim VR, and super hot are fine on it, but you'd be better off with anything else from Nvidias Line Up.
Like, no reason to get the 3050 with the 3060's current price. Especially not a new 3050
Eh I could agree with 200 maybe
The brands don't really want to go so low tho
6600xt is 240 rn
I'm sorta taking it from a current snapshot
Like if you ask me what it really be worth, well, 5700XT is pretty nice near 120 used

Very true, huge change in the last few gens
inb4 random company like Moore Threads saves us from death of RGB monopoly
Gamers must seize the memes of gpu production, then we can truly be free to express our smug superiority over our builds
Mmm yes the memes must be seized
interesting take, but i think it goes a layer deeper, in that the expectations are being set that people need the luxury of a 1500 dollar GPU to play modern video games, when in reality im sitting here using an 8 year old gpu, and the median PC gamer should be as well
we dont all get to play games at max settings, and thats how its supposed to be
it's because nvidia has abandonded the low end
the 3050, 3060, and 4060 have all been terrible value
I expect games to release on low settings on all 90 cards in the future
note the part where i said 8 year old gpu
And to have 96gb vram by 2027
no i know
im saying it's become this way because of how bad value most lower end cards have been
i do agree with that
though it started before that
I'd say around 20 series is when that mindset transition happened
30 series made it worse, and the shortage
it would have been so nice to see 2080 super performance selling for 400
now we see 2080 super performance selling at 350-450
3 years later
i think people should be buying used gpus
100%
i actually disagree with the idea that nvidia should be selling a 4010, 4030, 4040, 4050, thats just ewaste tbh
leave that market for intel 🤣
igpu
bring back igpu gaming
agreed, but 4060 shouldnt be the same performance as the 3060
3050 shouldnt lose to 2060
marketing moment
3050 should beat 2070 :)
1060 was the last 60 tier I actually saw close to previous gen 80 tier.
(of course current 3 most recent gens have also had a huge spread of performance
thought 1070 was?
1070 is not eq. to 1080
lol but I think it's 1080 ~ 2060 from what I remember verifying a few times
hm ive been wrong for a long time then lol
That needs an update
Actually that really needs an update
Didn't realise half the new gen isn't there lol
Bug @flat wind to put the sheet on Google docs so techies can edit
@azure pond whats the combo that leads to 483??
7800x3d strix b650e (I think?) And 32gb g.skill ddr5
No not strix
It's a gigabyte b650m
Oh it's the ds3h
Ew
I'd spend a bit more for another
oof, its almost been a year since i updated that
i should do that eventually
but its a lot of work
and super refresh is coming soon
probably will wait for that
I could help with it, possibly felix and some others here as well who'd be willing to (not volunteering felix or anyone else, there's just probably some people open to)
I know what beats what so it shouldn't take too too long
Desperately searching for eligible items to add to cart to bring up the total to $25
its not my opinion, its data. it takes time to go grab the numbers and put them in a sheet and do the work
Ah I thought it was just a spread sheet. I could still help, but I'd be less helpful than I thought lol
On what
I'm trying to buy just 3 phantek halos since they're on sale for dirt cheap - but I don't want to pay shipping. I'm trying to find something I want from the list of items that will bring my cart total high enough to eliminate the shipping charge
how much is the shipping tho
5.80
i don't think buying $25 of stuff is worth it for free shipping
unless you actually have something to justify that
like a fan of two
It is if I was going to buy the stuff later anyway!
Tower cooler
Headset
Mouse
Face cam
Idk
They sell eggs on newegg, buy some of those
it's just another decent value gigabyte gaming monitor
not exactly marketed for color production
Yeah can't complain about it but I think acer one for 170$ were better deal ?
This one was 170$ few days ago
G27q better, but both good deals
Alright I still being lucky with Acer so
1070 Ti can be OCd to 99% of a 1080
if my memory serves right
Ti tho not base 1070
I stayed up all night trying to find items that were "eligible for free shipping" that I wanted, or thought were a good value, and I came up with nothing, and ate the shipping cost for the item I did want
What??? You didnt make a program that automatically pulls all the data to put into a spreadsheet???? Smh my head I thought you was techie. ||/s||
sounds about right but yeah that's Ti as well
@tiny dirge please just say the real price rather than whats its discounted at, makes it look like a 30$ psu :D
changed it
thanks
13400f and 3050 at $770 and 13700f and 3060 at $1000 are both ass value
It also gives an option to put in email on that VA monitor to get 5% off
So that brings it down to $128ish
I mean, reviews are good
The move speed sitting in my pocket, ready to explode any second once I press the button:
worst reviews that I saw were that it didn't work, or bricked their device
This any good or a deal?
it's fine
A 500gb hard drive at $15 is not a deal.
Small size hdds like that typically fail faster and are older. No company is still manufacturing that small of an hdd. I doubt 1tb even is atp
I'm no longer buying HDDs with SSD prices as low as they are.
I only bought my latest HDD because I couldn't find a 14TB SSD in my budget but the HDD was $200.
Yeah hdds only make sense 4tb+
I overcompensate for everything, I don't like hdds because I feel like they'll die quickly, I also like overcooling everything
alaska has slower internet
You win some you lose some
I have a 1TB HDD in my current active desktop that has a manufacture date in 2014
(yes it gets backed up regularly)
It's mostly for cold storage of old photos, videos, documents, app data, etc.
I need to build some storage
I'm pretty sure we can get 1tb per $10 drives. Not sure 500gb for $17 is that good a deal
Well at least refurb server drives are still cheap, even if they have (probably) 20k-50k hours on them

The funniest part is 500gb sata ssds were $20-22 a few months ago
I'd know cause I bought one
And an nvme around the same price
Hell I got a 1tb m450 on amazon for $28.
Let alone the deals on tiktok shop
I got 1tb somsang for 40 but that was used lol
1tb 980 non pro is like $57 right now
Pretty recently 2TB NVMe were $50 but that ship has sailed
Yeah, I'm happy I got my p41 plus 2tb for $30
the chip factories are scaling back production I think
I have plenty of storage now
plenty
Between mine and my partners pc I have 6tb of ssd storage, 1tb I'm using for a future build, and a 2tb crucial external ssd I sold to my brother
All of which I got on sales
I need more storage, right after storage prices go up
The fabs are booked 3 years in advance. The big consumers of TSMC chips like Nvidia and AMD ordered far too many thinking the shortage would go on much longer than it did. They then had to sell that extra fab time they didn't use at a steep discount to someone and that mostly went to storage devices, increasing the supply and lowering the overall cost resulting in less price to consumers.
Now, there's another boom going on with AI so Nvidia and AMD are using the fab time that they had booked 3 years ago to make AI compute units that they sell wholesale for $10k each.
both
P41 plus 2tb still fairly cheap on tiktok
$90 and can put a coupon on it
1tb sn770 $55
That 18TB Exos drive is CMR and 7200 rpm. They're also known to be fairly reliable. It's only $280. (If your answer to how much storage you need is really "yes all the storage")
If you need ssds I'd grab em now, pretty sure prices are forecasted to rise more
Indood
Finally, I can download half my steam library
Hmm, my steam library seems to have gotten smaller since I last looked... It was almost 700 before but down to 611 now. Has steam been removing older games or something?
I had about 20 games installed when I took this snip
Yeah no I'm missing about 10 of my star wars games and a half dozen 40k games
wtf steam
Reminds me when Epic and whoever completely delisted the whole Unreal Tournament series.
U sure it wasnt just stuff moving categories, like games to tools?
I'm pretty sure Star wars dark forces 2 isn't in my tools
Newegg doesn't refund the difference if an item is discounted while it's shipping to you, huh?
If you bought it at a set price you should get the set price back
Usually without shipping factored in
If you received less than you paid for the item, that's an error
But not if it's only discounting shipping
I might need to clarify. An Item I bought has gone on sale for $10 cheaper since I bought it, while it's still in transit
In my experience such refunds after purchases aren't applicable, the kind that gives you discounts
To clarify
Whatever you paid for the item, will be the refund
Not the current going price
If that's not what happens, contact them immediately for the error
And again, this should not include shipping in the refund
I'm not talking about getting a refund, I'm talking about newegg price-matching itself and returning to me the difference in price
Oh you mean like
Nah, that doesn't happen
It went on sale after you bought it ye?
ye
Nah they don't do that
Boo and hiss
They'd be pretty magical if they did...lol
Best Buy does it
Man no shops do that here
Same
Not a single store I've been to in my country
US don't know how good they get it sometimes
💀
^
i just feel sad about it, or cancel my order and get refunded
then buy again
at the discounted price
slightly tempting as a backup disk
tbh $16 for 500gb hdd seems cheap, but it isn't compared to sata ssd
Considering those enterprise drivers are rated at what, 2.5 million hours? Yeah that's decent
some devices can only get so cheap
it's the length of one ford f-150 duh
Now, without a calculator, how many feet are in 5/8 of a mile? Because 5/8 KM is easy, 625M.
(yes I tacked on a riff about our school system with the "without calculator")
https://www.rd.com/article/why-5280-feet-in-mile/
Tldr: Romans had 1000 paces (5000 feet) in a mile, then the British made it 8 furlongs (8*660ft=5280)
Ok but why? It could have been anything else.
the british interfered is why
It's bad enough we have rulers that show an inch as being different measurements
I guess one is to show off with
hotdog measuring contest
Metric system is much better than measuring thing with feets foots arms legs etc lmao
Ancient people were smaller than modern people too
Rather have 1L of fuel or 1 Gallon?
the problem is not even that it's ancient
it's that it's been rewritten 100x and still used while being ancient
reject imperial, join the base 10 metric system
Superior gang can use both.
I will never understand why governments dont outlaw imperial. Imperial needs death penalty
What's 98.6F in Celsius?
If the rest of the US used metric i would gladly switch
sadly that attempt failed in the 80s and we only have one highway to show for it
idfk
stop making me google things

you have a lone highway with a metric speed limit?
100F = sick. Thats all its good for
somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The US Government tried enacting a bill to replace imperial freedom units with metric
however, and stay with me on this, it gained severe backlash by anti-metric groups
some of which called the switch to be a ""communist thing""
...oh
it was the metric board, not an act
and it was disbanded by Ronald Reagan
so he wasnt just content with "trickle down economics" ;-;
and yet looks like communism to americans
Eh, not much farther than 500 yards.
lil bit
anything americans don't like is "communism"
Have you ever seen a road sign measured in yards though
Point was I can think of 500m as 500 yards and the distance isn't much different. Isn't different enough to matter that is. It's an exit.
ur yards are small
ours are a good few hundred meters
no room for the dogs or anything smh
Ur?
would also help the whole quantifying* big objects problem
how does telling me an asteroid is the size of 101 dalmations helpful??
ur
oh damn i didnt even realize. uh
so you seen the new TI Super?
who came up with that name?
Right? I'm going to need that in bananas to be useful at all
yes F is good for temps humans often experience
0 = really cold
100 = really hot
Yes fr
I don't get why I also have to continuously argue it
it's not perfect (guessing most people would agree 68 is a lot more comfortable than 32) but it works alright
470 for 7800xt?
kinda bleh considering 4070s exists
but it's a healthy discount still
I really wanted to order from newegg, but the shipping to AK is ridiculous...everything is labled Free Shipping, then click on smol disclaimer and bam, costs added to AK, I get some sellers have to, but it was every item I was interested in...tbh, I sadly won't be using newegg anytime soon, found what I wanted for 10$ cheaper no less with shipping included elsewhere, won't say, but its safe to assume which one....I was LF a 1440p 165hz monitor...also I was very interested in a refurbished GPU as the price is very good, but then get hit with that shipping, being I live in Anchorage, not some rural area, it just doesn't make sense in 2023/24.... GG, I used newegg in the past for a combo deal and was not hit with shipping, idk why its different now, this was 4yrs ago when I built my sons PC...oh well...
would love to tell you that you'd be heard mate but we're all volunteers, no one here works for them
we often tell people to shop for the best deal, not just newegg
like
everywhere
this guy really thought he did something 💀
yeah that's right. absolutely everybody in this server works for Discord and we just lost a customer
I have no loyalty to the company either, I'm here for the community. I'll gladly post an amazon link instead of a newegg one at the same price because they do have faster shipping.

Sentiments around that one are that it's a solid 4/5 for the price. OSD is basic but it's quite usable overall. I'd say yes that's good at $175.
@azure pond Can I ask you a quick question if you don't mind?
Of course
Am looking for a monitor. Atleast 23 Inches, atleast 165 hertz and a budget of $100-$130(can go a little over) with Internal Speakers built in
I have a monitor, if you want to see it
Unless you have a better option for me
Either that asus one you linked in the other chat or this one
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3zKscf/benq-mobiuz-ex240-238-1920-x-1080-165-hz-monitor-ex240
That's more "premium" but honestly $30 extra on a 1080p screen is a bit odd
It depends what you value and if you plan to upgrade your gpu soon
Speaking of, what gpu are you on again?
I got a 4060, Intel I5 13600F
I bought a IbuyPower PC
regular price was $1200
I got it for $600 brand ndw
Was gonna say, 4070 build for $1200 in tech deals lol
Then yeah 1080p is the right choice, unless you plan to upgrade gpu within the year
4060
Did I get a good deal btw?
If you do plan to upgrade it wouldn't be a bad idea to spend some more for 1440p
Yeah thats solid
Better than anything else around the price
So the walmart is 1080p correct?
Ibuypower tends to be on the worse end of pre build quality, but at that price it's still great value. Just would recommend checking the psu, cpu Temps, etc
Yeah
CPU temps are good, everything is mostly good. Except needs more ram, and can't check the PSU
If you want better image quality and likely better speakers, the BenQ one
Why not?
Doesnt look like a PSU, looks like a prebuilt PSU
Also ye 16gb ddr5 is not fun
Ah. That's fun
Then I'd say it's fine for a 4060 but swap it when you upgrade gpus
32gb silicon power 6000c30 at $95 is good value
Of course, If I was to sell it how much would it go for? Its literally brand new, never been turned on except to install windows, box and everything included
With ram swap I'd say around 800-1200 depending on the buyer
Without ram swap 700-1150 (high end of the price is people who don't really know what they're looking at)
sounds good
bleh
You can get a 6600 new for $160, that 1660 is pretty bleh
What, you can?
Last I saw they were all $200
This one? It's a scam https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09J2NCD2L?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

Ahh, I just saw prices on pcpp didn’t actually look at the listing
hot take
i have a 6TB hdd in my daily
apparently thats crazy in this server now ig
Why is that a crazy take
WHO IS TES
ok
haven't done anything to my hdd yet
lol
4TB nvme suffering
🥶
What do you all think of this?
https://www.newegg.com/addlink-2tb-s93/p/0D9-00VZ-00032?Item=9SIBPBKK210839&cm_sp=product-_-from-price-options
i feel like transferring some files just to save some space on that nvme
maybe a game that even with an hdd still has adequate load times
I'd grab this instead
Or if you have tiktok shop there's some great options there, one sec
P41 plus 2tb is $90 and you can add a coupon on top of that
For 4tb I gotta check
Ah nothing for 4tb looks like mp33 pro and mp34 4tb are oos
They were $160-180
But that one is slooooowww
Why is it slow
Isn't that what the specs say for max sequential read and write? The Addlink one is 7400/6500, and the Silicon Power one is 5000/4500
So when they put those numbers on the box
They say "up to"
And every single time, this means speeds within the first 30 seconds or a read or write operation
When they slow down, most ssd's throttle down to about the same speed after that 30 second burst
For anything like, large movie file copying, video editing and scrubbing, torrenting, you'll notice a bit of a difference in raw speed, but in real world performance?
If I told you these two perform very similar, would you be surprised?
I guess not
Apart from the numbers they put on the box, they're both strong mid range gen 4's
So the experience you'll have between them should be very similar
There's way more to an ssd apart from read and write speed of a single file
Which is what that number is
When you're moving a whole folder of stuff, they don't copy that fast
There's a whole other side to them, in iops performance, random performance, high density performance
Stuff that's not on the box
Sorry if I sound like I'm grilling, not trying to
Ugh, so I have to go look at reviews
Trying to teach lol
Yeah
The overall impressions of both are similar tier of performance
I will say this
If you plan to use the drive for anything not this above
Then going for the fastest of the fast will net milliseconds of your time over days
It's really not worth it
Sticking to good budget options can get you that 99% without spending 50% more
I mean, if it's just being used for game storage it's irrelevant anyways
Pretty much
@cinder kiln what’s the best 48GB ram (2x24) with that RGB line at the top? Making a build for a friend and he wants black and RGB everywhere
P41 plus while not the fastest is actually really good. If you've two open nvme slots the 2tb is well priced on tt shop
The difference between a great gen 4 and a normal sata ssd in games can be as much as a couple tenths of a second
Just wanna make sure I’m not making a mistake
What's the pc for
Editing 1080 video and video games
I think he has a 4K capable monitor and a 7800x3d and 4070
I'd do 32
And if he hasn't bought the 4070, go 4070 super
Huge upgrade
Worth the extra from the ram
1000%
These are good
The pictures never do them justice
They look way better irl
Sweet. Just fits the budget
Thank you
If what he does is multi core focused 14600k might be better value at $300
That might be a good idea
I’ll ask him if I can make the switch
Pg sonic wifi is $130 last I checked
@azure pond turns out that he needs 48GB
Could I set him up for just a Corsair vengeance or something
Won’t tell me why he needs it
$1,100
i'll make something
He has a 4070, going to trade it in for a super
No actually good rgb options honestly
No trident z5?
trident z5 is honestly one of the worst d5 options to work with
unless you buy the 8000+ kits, don't.
God I suck at ram stuff
vengeance is worse
tbf
but teamgroup is goated
v color
lexar
adata
silicon power
?

mclk desync
I'd honestly just not go rgb if going 48gb
makes anything between 6400 & 8000 basically terrible
how much is his 4070 worth to the budget
Already got it
