Well the problem is a 1000w is so damn expensive the jump to say 1600w isn't all that much more.
They have a Super Mario Flower one on Newegg right now for $269
huh?
Ah, I personally found myself a case that can hold 2 PSU so that way if I needed any more than my current 1kw, I could just grab a cheaper lesser wattage PSU.
yeah not bad. I lucked out on mine. It was like 120 after tax with a mir I believe.
105 after the mir/discount and tax
As I was saying though for about $100 more (at current prices) you could just get something that should be pretty much good for anything instead of being borderline today.
are you buying some stuff now or?
cause honestly
if your gonna aim for the 5000’s or whatever, just wait like 1-2 years on a black friday and snatch a 1000W or greater
hell maybe just hook up your circuit breaker to the computer 🤣
I have a current PC with an 850w, I have my gigabyte z690 motherboard coming next week for my 13600k.
I wanted to have 2 PCs
but I will be low one PSU
what gpu?
3080
eh not bad
i only use about 500w with my build
or well it’s estimated
never really checked
That's more than enough for your 3080/13600k
but my cpu doesn’t draw much power considering it only sits at a casual 12-15% all the time
Took Nvidia a really long time to actually worry about transients, they might just start relying on ATX3 specs for high transients and not care about managing them again. That's the real concern about GPUs, not max PL for average power.
I understand that, but I am going to need another PSU so if I am buying a new one.
I wanted a bedroom one I could stream my Xbox to. 🙂
I have a 70" TV I got on a black friday deal back there that is gathering dust.
uhm. maybe move the xbox or pc?
nope
i see.
well you could just buy like a very used pc and just stream off of that
(idk how streaming works)
It is funny, my niece needed a 43" TV. I said I got one, will give it to you for what I paid for it. So it was $175. Black Friday at Target comes around and they have a 65" for $270. I was like well damn... so I bought it. It was cracked. They let me get a 70" same price. So now I have a GIGANTIC TV in the bedroom.
damn
on black friday i was waiting in a microcenter line for 4 hours to pickup my 12600k and z690
then over a course of two months i upgraded it to a 12700k and then a 13600k for 1 cent
I am blind as a bat without my glasses so the 70" I can actually kinda sorta make out faces now when laying down. 😛
I actually thought about getting a dell optiplex for the bedroom, problem is... their chips are below the 8000 series so Windows 11 won't support it.
Then you do the math of selling the 10700f and motherboard on ebay, then fees then shipping, well hell may as well just build a PC with my remnants.
what do people do with 4tb of data on a laptop anyway? 3d models or games?
Other things
Homework
it's for storing things
don't question it, some people actually fills 4tb not doing video stuff
some people live in the idiocracy (or sometimes the budgeting-reality) of starting their home lab setup with a laptop
I did the same. I’m an idiot
yup, what people do or not do with that amount of space is their issue, that's quite private
does anyone know here if the pixel density or whatever gets worse for a 1440p at 31.5?
cause i know there’s something about the pixel density comparing at 24 inch to a 27 inch at 1080p (i can’t tell the difference with a 27 inch
)
that does get worse, ya
Videos, games, models, those are what I usually store and can take up 4tb very easily.
32 inch or above starts to require 4k for maximum fidelity
Is it odd I can still see the pixels on a 24in monitor at 1080p?
you're probably sitting too close
No, I am about 3ft away.
3-3.5ft
I wonder if I'd be able to tell the resolution difference between 4k@32in vs 8k@42in.
Not all screens are equal. Can see the "pixels" on my vg259qr from maybe 8" away. 1440p on 32" would really be fine for some people, not ppi snobs.
I love my 32" 1440p. Still looks amazing.
I love his 32" 1440p too
I love my 27 inch 1080p
i can’t see pixels considering i’m blind as hell, plus i gamed on a 21.5 imac for a good 5-6 years and i have low standards
For general use, I enjoy my 27" 1080p, however for the first time ever last night I got to see what it looks like in a game and I was blown away at how much better 1440p looks.
I really wanna order that x27q but like.. I don't have the money for it. well i do but it's not for spending lmao
I literally spent a 180$ today for 2 AP exams and a PACT 😭
Rip
I haven't tried gaming on it quite yet, but I might be rearranging my monitors and having that one as my main b.
wait which 1440p do you have?
G27Q/G32QC/X27Q
oooo alr
Haven't gamed on my x27q yet. Ppi aside, seems 1440p makes ingame visuals better, but also enlargens everything a bit partly from screen size.
Yes, not too popular/common. Note normal stuff like icons and text will be smaller than 27" 1440p depending on scaling. Example:
@fleet marlin make sure you set response time to level 2, it's the one with the least ghosting
Thank you for the heads up. I'll check that out when I get a chance.
Darn right. I grew up with and used CRTs too long.
Price error but I can't get it delivered to Italy even if it is Amazon Germany damn
Broken ish best kind of broken
They do but honestly not worth as you can't even see the pixels at 24"
That's a deall
It was, but for some reason it didn't let me order it and also said "doesn't ship to Italy" one time lol
For what I posted in #tech-deals
For this deal #tech-deals message which one would be fastest? Modern, movement, or swift
Movement/mp34
Alr
Should I ask my store to refund the Corsair CX550W that I just received? I've found a different store selling the CX650W with RGB light for 3$ more!!! CPU is Ryzen 5700X and GPU is 3060 Ti.
should be a smart move, 100 extra watts for 3usd more is a no brainer
I've found reports of CX650 exploding, but it was 2 years ago.
regular cx is a decent psu
i doubt there's a single psu model that hasn't caught on fire atleast once
I'm going to return it.... Reading the thread in the forum, the PSU that I bought has a serial part number which is one of the affected by the failures.
That's not really much on its own. That could be for a lot of reasons. I could say my rm850x exploded even though its a known good mldel, because it did, but for a specific reason
Too much current thru ur old as hell ram?

No lol, I'm pretty sure I told you why it blew up actually
90 Plus Gold
You know you did and I'll be honest I forgot
💀

He forgor

As someone who works in the cell phone industry. No phone is ever "free"
Like right now yeah I could say you could go to AT&T and trade in any old galaxy phone and get $1000 off a S23 series phone. But it's just credits they give you and your locked in for however many years.
Phone is free if you just take it from somebody
Hence why I mentioned “if you’re just going to Verizon”, like already dead set on it. We swapped to AT&T years ago and got 2 ‘free’ iPhone X’s & just paid taxes on it, but never a penny on the actual phone. We’ve since changed providers but, yeah, I understand where you’re coming from
How are the hs35s? I ordered a pair for my partner
I haven't used them but I have a friend who does. Absolutely worth it for $10
Idk how they are for music but for gaming/general use they should be solid
so... any thoughts on the g55a monitor? is it any good?
MSI A650BN a bad PSU?
is that tier rank biased?
define biased
tier A and B are all expensive and do I really need the Gold seal?
gold means nothing for quality
the tier list was made from reviews and testing across multiple models from multiple brands
becasue you know... there are good units and bad units on every brand
there are good bronze units and gold bomb units as an example
so, for your question... no, is not biased
Sources are listed, criteria are listed, if you want to check why a unit is rated a certain way, they give you the resources.
some ppl call that tier list a meme
MSI GF costs a bit more than BN
I already opened a ticket at the store asking for a refund. Thinking on the future, 650 feels safer if I ever upgrade the cpu and gpu
And what problem do they have with it?
If people have genuine problems with things on the tier list we can talk about it
Its not perfect as people will have some required opinions that are different (like more/less care for noise). However it's far from a meme list.
in my country the MSI A650GF is nowhere to be found. I can only find the 750GF which costs 3x the CX650F
Yea, there's definitely some aspects we can talk about like if inaccurate pwr ok should knock a PSU down a tier or not, but there's generally good reasoning behind everything
Just get cx-f at that point, it's still good
Assuming you're talking Corsair cx-f
At what point does the cxf become a collectors item?
shiny 80+ silver thing
the alternative do MSI PSU seems to be XPG Core Reactor
Core reactor is also a great unit
Yeah its A tier
XPG Core Reactor 650W costs 23$ more than Corsair CX650F here.
or precisely the same cost of two MSI A650BN
I'd just get the cxf at that stage
I bought a monitor without DP, asked for a refund and the store cancelled the delivery. They gave 48 hours to refund. 72 hours later I'm still waiting for the refund.
yeah that happens sometimes, it sucks tho
lol, the store just refunded me 1 minute ago
you were lucky then, some folks had to chase refunds for up to a month... they get their refund eventually ofc.
I gave up the idea of using a UPSU. A good quality one costs as much as a high end GPU
cx or cxf are great choice
don't let some odd review of a failure fool you
failures happens sometimes, and that's why warranty exists
if we're in a perfect world warranty wouldn't have needed to exist
https://tripplite.eaton.com/smartonline-230v-2kva-1800w-online-double-conversion-ups-tower-extended-run~SUINT2000XLCD 1000$, this thing costs a whole computer by itself
cheapest capacity would still cost over 600$
Could literally just use a decent power strip, those normally have built in surge protectors
Yeah wouldn't really bother with a ups at that sort of cost
most gold PSUs have built in protection
the store just sent me a code to sent the CX550 back
Gold is an efficiency rating, not a safety rating
Bronze psus can be quite safe too lol
Gold/bronze/Plat etc don't mean anything for protections. The types of protections have normally protect the pc if the psu itself has an issue
If you're lucky, it would protect against a power surge and just the psu would die, but you can't really know for sure
If you were unlucky the whole pc could die from a power surge
The high end UPS would be more about preventing unexpected shut downs than protection
Anybody got a Verizon phone? There is a deal I need a code for if nobody is using theirs. https://twitter.com/videogamedeals/status/1630913034314039296?s=20
Xbox Series S $149.99 via Verizon Up Rewards. Must be a Verizon Wireless Customer. https://t.co/sjbnNVkuj2
120
I'm feeling inclined to pay more for the XPG Core reactor because their warranty is twice as long as Corsair CX or MSI MAG.
core reactor is easily one of the best psus on the market
and probably the best adata psu
@fathom nebula speaking of
wow! that quite the find baca
juicy mobos at juicy prices
and yes im pretty sure the 13900k will be fine there... way too much vrms
The 12900k was fine on it so I imagine the 13900k is too
It was the only low budget board that could in the test I saw a while back
13900K can use like, 30% more power lol
But yes any chip is fine on that board, they use 105A stages on it
@azure pond I bought that motherboard deal you listed in Tech-Deals. Board refused to flash, got my refund finally yesterday.
You mentioned before, and if you mean it as you wouldn't recommend anyone else buy it, it's impossible for quality control to be 100%
There's going to be some that get out with issues
But if someone does have an issue, they can get a refund, like you did
Sometimes you need to try the flash a dozen times for it to work once, or use a different USB
MSI RX 7900 XT for $1129 CAD. Is it worth buying? Looking to upgrade.
id just get this instead personally
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09BZP8KZG
-MSI 2060 super
- RM 750W PSU
You'd need a new PSU.
Isn't 750w pushing the boundaries?
Should be good I think
What's your current CPU?
3800x
Well I guess at the end of the day, you can always get a larger PSU if need be.
Yeah I think a 7900XT would be a pretty solid jump over a 2060s.
If it's worth it comes down to you though at the end of the day.
not ideal but fine
the 7900xt non x isnt much of a jump over the 6900xt tbh idk if its worth like 180 more
I look at the 6900 as well. Benchmarks were 30% better I believe
nowhere near that much better
I’ll look more into it. Thanks
7900xt is better no doubt
i just dont know if its worth that much more tbh
the XTX and XT are 2 different cards, stupid naming from AMD tbh
Don't forget that we also have the 7900, 7900X, HD 7900...
7900x3d
5700 and 5700xt are gpus, 5700x is a cpu, 3600xt is a cpu
Their marketing team better come up with something better next gen, at least for the GPUs since the CPUs are kinda locked in for this socket
for performance info on those fans in #tech-deals: https://youtu.be/xpSO_Mpu9Eg
The Arctic P12 MAX is here! The Arctic P12 is arguably everyone's favorite PC fan because of its amazing price and good performance. but now Arctic is launching the P12 MAX. The P12 MAX focuses on high air pressure which makes it the best PC fan for air coolers and water cooling.

Definitely considering forking out for max fans
Maybe just for the o11 air mini tho, temps don't move on the evo rig
I'd just buy them to move my p14s somewhere else in my case and throw those on my aio, I doubt it'd make a huge difference though
If I cpu oc it might help some
I'll be waiting for p14 max wh pwm pst
I guess I could get bigger rads instead but I don't really need my rads to be any bigger

I like that
If they can do that and still make money they will bring the market down

3300 rpm gaddam
To bad no RGB.
Well I guess there's always that company which makes the argn fsn covers that you could slap on top.
To make any non RGB fan RGB.
There'll be an rgb version I bet
And a pst version
This is just the first of like, 6-8 different versions of P12 in the max form
Give it time for RGB yeah
That too
Those aren't too bad tbh
You could combine that and p12 max probably for less than the price of any of those other super expensive fans
Except maybe the gentle typhoon
I see.
What I really want is a thicker version of the SL-INF and in 140mm format too.
I love the look of those fans.
Those fans are still meh performing
P12's def better
Even in the face of how quick they cut off on those graphs cos of low rpm
That low rpm is what keeps them in the #1 spot out of budget fans on noise/temp charts
I know, I know.
I want gentle typhoons
They aren't white. Don't want em.
It's amusing how the top contributors to that charity bundle are advertisements, a bible verse, short messages, then there's the top contributor only known as "jeff"
Do not question the mighty Jeff!
For anyone curious about the new p12 fans, looks like they now go up to 3300rpm, double the static pressure, and upped to 81CFM from 53
If that's actually 4.3 then that makes it the highest static pressure 120mm by far
buy now before the test data comes in or forever regret
Either way worth it for $9
The highest static pressure fan I could find was 2.95mm H2O. This is seriously big if true, this would make anything else irrelevant for liquid cooling.
That humble bundle is
I've been wanting Gotham Knights
Be cool if the new p12 didn't whine at certain rpms aswell
It's a totally different motor and bearing so who knows
I bought a few, I’ll find out in around 5 days and let you know
If you get that bundle, I cannot recommend reading Saga highly enough
Seriously, such a good series
Would be neat to set p12 max at the highest rpm of it's lil brother then compare them. I'm too used to sub-1300rpm to be much impressed w/ certain fans, lol.
any good mouse deals rn
^^^ I was literally thinking the same thing

Lets goooo

Haven't watched the video so I'm not sure if that will answer your question
Ok so it's as I thought, something is screwy with their pressure calculation. The T30 still stomps it in every way but it's a great option for the price.
It's too bad there isn't a better test rig in the video but it's something.
waiting for gn
That new fan testing chamber has to be online soon right?
Very much looking forward to that. There's SO many BS specs on fans it'll be good to get some accountability.
I wonder if that's why lf2 stock has been meh recently, maybe we should be expecting the lf3 soon
lf2 max when
updoot coldplate pls
Imagine not being able to count it would obvs be lf3 smh
lol tru
bruv
LF1 when
who wants to be #3 smh
you're not first
and not even the first loser
There is a lf1 actually
I'll liquid freeze u in a minute
I had a thicc 120mm LF1 long time ago
It was okay
Bout what one would expect with a thicc 120mm AIO with push/pull fans
we got any new RGB fans or is P12 RGB still good
liquid freeze deez nuts
Be careful what you wish for. 🤣
if they honestly made p14 Maxes i would buy
or an argb p12 max
cause i got my air cooler still
I like my P14s
I like my p12s and 14s
i have 1 p12 and 2 p14s in my build rn
if p14 max comes out ill have 2 p14s and 2 p14s maxes
I hate the annoying noises the Arctic P12 PWM fans make around 1100 RPM. I designed my fan curve to skip about 150-200 RPM when I had those fans.
my p12 pwm doesn't make any annoying noise o_O
it gets a little bit higher pitched at ~1000 rpm, the new max version is using a brand new motor though!
If you have it run around the 950-1200 rpm range it's really noticeable and weird it's hard to describe
They got that weird promo thing going on so my links are gonna be kinda weird
If I remove anything after the ?, it just takes you to the main screen on Newegg
Wait really?
Ahh i see the link is different than usual yeah, the long links fine if needed
Need to convert it to a non account referral link. Basically just goto link and let NE redirect to product page then remove excess info.
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16820331309
Ahhh gotcha
You’re welcome
The 10 of them I own all do in the same RPM range.
Same with the 5 i have yeah
I have a Asus ROG Strix g712lu. And the motherboard shorted out on me trying to put in a SSD in it. Stupid me. Does Newegg have motherboard compatible to mine? My repair guy is trying to fix it tomorrow, hopefully. Any one?
That will be a direct mainboard replacement
If it's totally buggered
Laptop boards (though I'm not sure if maybe Asus circumvents this rule) are specifically tooled for a laptop's design
Laptops only accept boards from the same model laptop yeah
You can sometimes upgrade your CPU/GPU in the process but often that costs about as much as a new laptop unless you source and repair it yourself.
Pretty much nearly 100% of all laptop repairs that involves board shorting out is replacing the parts that have been damaged, not replacing the whole thing
And the cost of whole laptop boards are going to cost about as a new laptop
Ok thanks
AMD Ryzen 7 7730U is this good?
Not any better than 5800U
They're the same chip
Zen 3 with 8 cores and same igpu
Or 5700U actually, that's also similar
I would rather get last gen laptop with 5700U and save money than falling for the rebranding shenanigans AMD is pulling with naming
It performs as good as the last gen CPUs mentioned do, which was pretty good
thanks
Be careful though, I believe some of the 5000 series have different igpus
Or maybe it's just a cache difference
Nope, all the same
Yeah they're literally just renamed and everything else is the same. It even still uses DDR4.
^
Sorry meant like 5700 vs 5800
they're identical in that sense too
Not 7000 series vs 5000
From what I'm seeing 5600u and 5800 have zen3 while 5700 is zen2
Dunno if that affects the vega 8 igpu though
5700u is only 100 MHz less than a 5800u
Same process node
But Zen2 and Zen3 had the same node on laptops iirc
100 MHz totally justifies an entire relaunch, yep
Ah same 7nm node on all of them
Yeah 7000 vs 5000 is stupid, but it does look like choosing a 5600 or 5800 over 5700 might be worth it
5600, 5600x cough cough
sorry thats a hole 200mhz
There was an actual reason for that though, they had to lower prices to compete with Intel without making it look like the prices could have been lower to start with
yeah just funny
PBO +200 and your 5600 becomes a 5600X, zero effort
That's not even counting how AMD will go beyond their own spec at stock speed on good bins
My 5800X would boost to 4850 totally stock. 4700 is the spec. +200 PBO and it hits 5050.
Sometimes even just giving it a decent cooler for some thermal headroom works
Well yes hitting your rated boost clocks does assume that headroom is there
Do stock coolers not hit the factory/rated boost clocks?
They can tag the max boost but it'll drop under sustained load
Indeed. Humble Bundle used to be really good. I got hundreds of games from them.
this month's headliners are Biomutant (2ish years old and 67% on steam) and a Jurassic park game
the limited time bundles are still usually pretty good but monthly choice aint
The other bundles are mostly re-releases of past bundles though
How many times have they done the Star Wars bundle?
idk
I will say i think part of it is that a lot of the games are now on game pass
like the monthly ones
So ive received the new p12 max fans, they are not gunna lie, kinda pitchy/whiny
but there's no weird noise at ~1000rpm anymore
PSA after further messing around, the ramp up sounds like a actual jet engine I cant recommend the p12 max
I capped them at 60% and its still extremely whiny.
i want jet engine please send me
Jet
that actually looks sick
imagine a turbine just chillin on your room
btw, not a "deal" but i3 12100F is 102 usd on amazon rn

though technically speaking it is a "jet" engine
but the image you sent is either a turbojet or a turbofan engine
not too sure which since it's a pc case
hold on lemme show you the diff
stock photo but whatever

For context here’s the p12 max ramping up to 60% ~1800 rpm https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/615681920407175180/1082840576271073321/IMG_0553.mov
So they took the noise level we loved about the P12, the main reason to recommend it, and chucked it right out the window
Yup
300rpm higher is also louder anyways, imagine that. A test for me would be p12 max at 1500rpm & see if it's not pointless.
The whine is the deal breaker for me, even at low rpm it doesn’t come through on video that well but it’s still there. I was getting a headache
Sadge, the hype is a lie
3300 rpm must sound like warfare then
cause if that was only 60%/1800rpm or whatsoever
It got loud is all I can say
lmao
cause it truly sounds like what i put my fans at 100% for shiz and giggles for 1550rpm
i do really wanna know what it sounds like at 100% though
They must've taken too many pages from the bionix line
Dear g0d it sounds like my EVGA AIO's fans on heavy load.
But they use different ball bearing pepehands
P12 whine is headache inducing
it's greatest downfall
pepefeet
Feet? Sus
I think someone was asking if it was that bad the other day, I've time stamped the problem and it's like louder than it is in the vid

Not the best monitor overall being a 27" 1080p but for the price who could really complain
Is that why you voted for both lol?
I’d complain
Well at least it’s not va
For $120 though it would make a great secondary
its true
I check Walmart clearance section every time I go there. A couple days ago we picked up a 165hz 1080p 24" for $44. Then we bought a cheap little desk to go with it. My girl has seen the light in using a keeb/mouse for gaming.
Goddam
Hi does anyone know what the clearance starts?
No one here works for Newegg except @foggy coral and that's not their department so I doubt they know either
some people ordered some ibuypower pc from walmart today
I was trying to find specs but i couldn't but there was an HP with rx6400
12400F is 148$ on amazon
meh, seen the non-F within $10 of that sometimes. Happy w/ my used one that was actually $130 shipped.
The Doritos brand is all about boldness. If you’re up to the challenge, grab a bag of Doritos tortilla chips and get ready to make some memories you won’t soon forget. It’s a bold experience in snacking and beyond. All the cheesy flavor of Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips packaged in ready to go single...
doritos are a C-tier snack
E-tier.
We'll compromise: D tier
If you place Doritos near me and walk out of the room you'll never see them again
Especially the nacho ones
cool ranch doritos are easily the best dorito flavor
I agree but I can't eat the whole bag like I can with the nacho

Some chips are so addictive. Almost as bad as something like this:
No, what's addicting is THIS
wow that looks good
Panera pastry ring
Cream cheese, cherry, and apple fillings on their pastry dough
I used to work there... I've eaten too many of these
Looks tasty

can I have one
i7 12700KF for 189$
Sweet deal
yea
geez, yeah that’s pretty nice
my issue with it
Oof yeah mad sus
huh didn't check seller
mb
Yeah they lowered the price to $129??
LOL
I'll be interesting to buy it and see an empty box arrive at your house
Tech deals generally need to have more than 1 item and/or decent feedback if it's Ebay. Not the thread for memes/junk.
Debating whether it’s worth trying out that 12700kf
I mean it’s Amazon
Worst come to least they just give me my money back, right?
I wouldn't bother, and link probably should be removed tbh.
I second this
Would suck for someone to get scammed because they followed a link posted here in wegg.
imagine running out of nvme slots
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MXjBD3/asus-rog-crosshair-x670e-extreme-eatx-am5-motherboard-rog-crosshair-x670e-extreme for only $999 you can get a mobo with 4x 5 gen ssd slots amd 1x 4 gen ssd slot

Hear me out.. pcie to m.2
2x pcie to m2 card
Do you mean dual PCIe x16 to 4x M.2? Because that would be sweet
Yeah that's what I meant
You can do 4 m.2s with 4 full lanes on just one x16 slot tho
So 14x m2 slot total lol
Sounds like a great ZFS setup in the making
Combine them all into one volume and profit
Ooh where's the DIMM.2 ones, there's some extra spots
Cheapo 8TB SSD wen
I just learned about these in a vid last night. Like.. I didn't know you could do that lol
I mean you can get 2 4tb p3s for like 450
Define cheap. I know of at least one that's $450.
You talking about the 870 qvo or something?
Idk I mean cheap gen4 ones
No that's $510 right now
I just have 4x 4tb sn850x
Eww sata
It's actually nvme over u.2
No it's U.2
Oh
Nah nah nah, dimm to M2
…I can use an m.2 as ram?

or hear me out 5 nvme and 4 pcie nvme
9 ssd slots brrrrrrrrrr
newegg has nas builder
all expensive asf
might as well start your own home server with a dell optiplex
or a cheap pc
so cheap haha
ouch
Buy it
670p is decent yeah but I'd get this instead personally
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CYwypg/teamgroup-mp34-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-tm8fp4002t0c101
I'd go for 670p when its $14 cheaper
ASUS TUF Dash F15 15.6" Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-12650H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 3060/Win11)
Is this good ?
Highly recommend that mm350 posted. I've had mine for about 3 years and its been awesome
I recommend just buying a cheap no name brand off of amazon or even aliexpress
most of em are from the same or very similar suppliers, you can get more varied dimension options and it's like $10
there are probably some benefits to higher end pads but I would bet that corsair is the same as the generic ones
The Corsair one is hella thick and there is zero fraying on mine
I've seen some cheaper ones really start to fray
stitching on mine is holding up, been using it for 2.5ish years I think
Also risk with no names is that they don't like to lay down flat and smell terrible
both things that go away after a few hours or maybe a day if unlucky
but yeah if you don't want to deal with that i suppose $20 isnt bad
How thick is hella?
Like 6mm iirc
Sheesh
Idk what that is in freedom units
Superior thickness for mousepads tbh
6mm wow
Like 1/4 thickness of a hamburger patty for the americans out there
spec sheet says 4mm
my generic one is 3.5-4mm
hard to measure without calipers
does thickness do anything for mouse mats?
They don't like to move around as much, maybe some sound deadening or comfort if you argued for it
Still think paying the extra $5-$10 for quality control, customer service, and the 2 year warranty is worth it. This model also has anti-fray stitching which I've found is a problem with some cheaper mouse-pads that don't have that or are poorly stitched
Oh wow a mousepad for $20
Meanwhile I'm still using a mousepad hyte gave me for free
a HUGE mousepad for $20
yeah the stitching they use is really great
looks like corsair has both a pro and non pro xl mm350 extended
non pro seems to be thicker from what i see
i wish it wasnt a gray corsair logo
Just cover it with your mouse
its the entire pad
Oh I'm not complaining I just remember when hyte had a broken site launch and a lot of people here for a free deskpad from them
oh yeah i got one of those
gave it to a friend
im guessing it didnt pay off in the end for ibuypower 💀
they kinda got screwed on that deal
why not?
agileshop.co and kineticlabs.store best value
What's the password to agileshop.co?
they are closed as of now but they sell their stuf on kineticlabs
revamping website i think
That wrinkle though
Their own showcase shows how not flat they are lol
Oof, Amazon 1 whole month wait for that desk mat
Best Buy will get to me in 3 days though 😄
I didn't even see that lol
10$ extra for the G6 is 1000% worth over the gt
I found it
Now we will never run out of nvmes
Not a tech deal, but cool. $120ish for 2TB P5 Plus recently.
Apex Storage implemented two regular 6-pin PCIe power connectors to provide auxiliary power
👀
Well it has to power 21 ssds
Considering they have to account for having a full array of inefficient cheap drives that can use 6W+ each the peak power draw could approach 120W, so additional power isn't unreasonable. Dual 6 pins though?
Shipped via UPS this morning. Will be here on Wednesday. 🙂 I don't think I've been excited for a desk mat before.
Same lol, I’m very excited to finally get a desk mat where I don’t have to worry about my mouse falling off the edge. I’ve been using a Magic the Gathering play-mat for the past few years and it barely fits my full-size keyboard and mouse. Figured it’s time for an upgrade after suffering for so long
Dude. I too have been using 2 MTG playmats for the longest time.
While the 2 together are a tad longer than the "real" desk mat, they aren't as wide so it'll be nice to shave off the length to have more depth.

Too bad it's out of stock
for me as well
Hmmm
Ah, guess it updated, out of stock now
@high radish here 5 gen nvme
omfg it has a fan
That's the loud af gen 5
hehe
Tiny little 13k rpm fan
ill buy entire stock
Questionable what workloads cause peak sustained power. If it's only high sequential then it wont be hitting 11w as AIC isnt designed to push 21 NVMes from a pure bandwidth perspective.
Unless built in controller allows for copying to use full NVMe bandwidth
Idk just says that on microcenter site
@jolly inlet A750 now $239, dropped again
What GPU compares to the A750
Like, 3060 Ti-ish
But the caveat is the drivers, supposedly much better but we have no reports of that here yet
It's about as good $/fps value as the 6600 but with a huge catch 22
I see. My girl is finally realizing that a better GPU than the 580 8gb is needed to play games with good graphics.
I wonder if it would be a good idea to go for the intel gpu.
I will absolutely not guarantee an easy experience
I'd go for a 6600 XT or 6650 XT instead
Intel is still mostly for people that like to tinker
Yeah, if it was a power user it's a good value buy
I’ll guarantee a good time
What is one of those running atm?
Really only play CoD/MMO games.
Ultimately if my taxes form last year ever show up, I'm gonna get a 4090 and just put my 3080 12gb in her pc, but man.. it's been 13 months I've been waiting lol
They'll do 1080p ultra in most games, except some of the most demanding games.
They do. and I believe in 2022 alone it went from 2% at the beginning of the year up to 7% by the end of the year.

Yeah, I was hoping maybe for 1440p, but 1080 is ok too.
I did just find a 1660 Super Ventus XS OC on craigslist for $80. Thinking I might nab that to hold over.
Well, tbh it says Like New and comes with the box. The cheapest I see on ebay right this moment is right around $150.
I could always throw it into another build to sell in the future.
That's barely better than the 580 though
True, but for $80? Could just sell it on ebay I guess.. Idk, my 1650s ran my games way better than this 580 seems to be doing.
Well at least the 1660 meets the minimum requirements for most games but don't expect more than 1080p 60fps on low
hm. At least for ff14, I'm seeing 140ish at 1080p max. roughly 60-70 for 1440p max, which is about 10-20ish more than my 1650s was giving me.. this 580 is running 40 fps at max 1080p. It's really weird.
That's a MMO though, it's purely CPU dependent
True, I am seeing in gaming vids of popular games that the 1660s is hitting 60-70 fps with ultra settings.
1080p
That'll depend on the game of course. I'm mostly referring to AAA games from the last 4-ish years.
Yeah makes sense. She's really only into all the CoD games and currently FF14, so if I can hit 60fps ultra in those games with the 1660s, I think it'll be golden.
Warzone is a bit of a challenge but it should be doable
She's not really into story style games or battle royals
eh she dislikes warzone for sure.
I hadn't played a CoD since BO2 until I grabbed MWII a couple months ago. I really like this new one though. If I want to play BR though I just play Apex.
I love MW2 (2022) but warzone sucks
They need to implement the DMZ revive system or make it harder to thirst downed players
I just wish things moved a little faster
Like the game generally has this sluggish feeling I can't pin down to one thing in particular
Big ass maps. The TDM & domination was great. The only BR I play routinely is Apex but it's more just about the weapons & such. Concur on anti-thirsting would be good.
The movement is definitely slower in MW2
gun handling as well, you feel like you're walking whenever you get jumped
bullet flinch or such & movement slowdown when hit in any game is also boring, but oh well.
Yeah a few of the MP maps feel like they need to be 8v8 and a couple might even be good as 10v10
imagine 10v10 shipment
there was a limited time mode that was 10v10 on every map
shipment was just everyone running the saiga and shooting constantly till they died
They had done 10v10 on MW2019 Shipment. Will probably return again for MWII but I wouldn't know currently. I don't work on MP anymore.
Oh how I miss MP :/
Daylight actually looks dope for Shipment
i can actually see who im shooting and not just blinding flash grenades
1660s should be fine for cod. Its more CPU dependent.
@fleet marlin def worth it for me since I bought the 1tb a year ago for
Awesome

It's like city - company - (car tech company?) - something
The equivalent would be like saying
California Newegg commerce tech platform
Ningbo is city/region, I think longdu is the name of the company, qiche is car (prob previously automotive company), keji is tech, youxiangongsi is like saying limited
Hey, I am here trying to find a 150$ monitor 144hz or more preferably.
try this for 1080p240
https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-25-gaming-monitor-s2522hg/apd/210-azzo/monitors-monitor-accessories
there was a deal earlier for a cheaper 1080p240 panel but looks like the deal is gone
for $150, might have to buy me a fourth monitor
I think this just might work
Check your local walmart clearance section first. They have a round of monitors they are wanting to liquidate and they are hella good price.
See if your store is one of those that had to many of the model they want to get rid of.
nearest walmart is about 2 hours away from me
rip. we got a 24" 1080p60 for $40
That sounds nice
Even a microcenter?
based
So, I just got a new mobo, cpu, and cooler, but I'm not sure what price to sell the old parts for.
Old parts were a b360m bazooka Mobo, a Intel i5 9600k, and a 240mm AIO
At least 2 dollars
What's the 240mm AIO?
Any good deals in the steam sale?
I posted that Warhammer link in general earlier haha
Oh woops
Nah all good
I use the free stuff bot in my server
So it tells me every game that's free atm and sends links to it
Oh nice thats awesome
Just set up the new mat. It feels like I upped my mouse DPI to 6500 from 6000 LOL
lol, I have to say I am enjoying it much more than I thought I would. Unfortunately this means I'll never be able to get a smaller desk mat ever again. Kind of like when you upgrade your monitor size/hz/resolution
Once you go 400mm tall you can't go back
Never pay more than $200usd for HD6XX's. They frequently go on sale and it's practically the retail price.
@quasi radish those headphones are good bozo
The pricing is not that great imo
200 isn't amazing but it's been at 220 for a good while and hasn't gone down
DT990 Pro is amazong headphones. Be aware it's 250ohm version so you'll need good audio interface or amp for high volume
@fiery zephyr link not working btw lol
Yeah it works now lol
I saw the 990's on sale last night and though about getting them since I love the 770's and love open backs, but since they're essentially the same headphone I decided to be adventurous and go with the 6XX
dont know if anyone has posted this yet or if it was mentioned but ill leave here instead of tech deals since this is probably only applicable to so many people
If you have CashApp, there is a booster for discord for 99% off in-app purchase (this is pretty much only for the $9.99 nitro)
total comes out to be $0.10 for nitro, you arent locked into a plan or anything, should be able to cancel later on
noice. Hopefully the boost will still be there on the 28th lol.
Appears so
????
DRAMless Innogrit controller
WITH TLC?
I don’t see the catch - what’s the catch here?
slightly sus they dont name which specific controller it is
It’s the IG5220
yeah thats kinda sus, like is that the msrp?
The IG5220 is a rather solid controller (for a budget drive)
at least from what I can find
Any source on what actual nand it has?
Dang
1000TBW endurance = almost certainly TLC…
not sure what kind of TLC exactly
no
For example, N48r same p/e cycles by spec as b47r iirc
Which means qlc and tlc rated as the same endurance
It's the qlc that's in P41 plus
I'm expecting it to be like P41 plus, well performing qlc
I don’t expect QLC - typically they’re rated for 300-400 cycles at most
this is rated at 1k
It's like how team claims like 1200tbw on random 96l tlc
While the same nand in a different drive is usually rated for like 600tbw
It's at their digression
It's technically true and just by the nand itself it should be capable of more
but I’m not convinced you’ll see a QLC drive with a 1000 cycle rating
even if the newer 172L QLC can do it just fine
Well, let's see
Also I'm going crazy I dunno why I thought n48r was in P41 plus, it has Intel nand
If not needed for a ps5 or such, I'd possibly lean towards something like MP34 that's $50 currently.
@steel sapphire I saw your Bio. This could help you.. and me, so I'm not so distressed XD
well
slight problem
I'm on the $5 nitro plan right now which is perfect for me
if I go up to $10 temporarily, I can't go back
Oh I see
Hmmmm
Would like this a lot
Don’t really know much ab TVs though, any idea if it’s good? Or anything better for that price range?
$600, that's really good. That's been one of my top picks for a couple years for recommendations.
Yeah that used to be a $1000+ TV
Dang
it doesn't show me a price lol
Who cares if it's a couple years old, it's still really good
Do you have a zip code set?
It could be regional
Probably clearance after all, older model
oh, I did not. Now I see a price. $599.99
https://a.co/d/bGYdYji
Could spend a lil more for mini led but its 55in
The 6-Series TCL Roku TV combines stunning 4K HDR and Mini-LED technology in a bold, brushed metal design for a superior TV experience. QLED Quantum Dot technology and the HDR Pro Pack with Dolby Vision combine for greater brightness and contrast, as well as a full palette of rich colors. TCL’s C...
@pallid geyser remember the price
Oh woops
that tv deal
P5 plus 2TB is $122
Leadex III Gold 850W is $115
For the #building-and-recc-chat bois
Great argument however p41 plus rand go brr more for 25 less
What tier p41 plus tho
It's like 3$ more than an SN770 that's why I mentioned it lol
If I had to guess based on CDM results it's probably an A tier equivalent
In seqs it's meh, in rand it's p41 plat level
P5 plus is S tier

Git rekt scrubs
It's worthy for like, workstation production
For gaming no, not even gen 4 kekw
It's got good seqs but it's randoms barely outpace my sn550
Yeah hold on lemme find ze pics
Gaming you'd want like, B tier max lol. No point going more. People love to dish out the dollars for 980 Pro though.
Even the one game that supports direct storage doesn't benefit from gen 4 much
Only cute 970's and 970 plus
The one game that supports direct storage doesn't benefit from gen 5 even
The T700 has similar speeds
No wait I'm blind
Gen 5
Bottom right*
Yeah shallow queue writes
Which are going to vary wildly based on background tasks btw
AV running? That's a write AND read queue going
Antivirus
Don't believe it was running
You have to kill like 3 things to stop defender from running, they don't make it easy
The AV was def running tho
Like it being open but not scanning can slow down?
Made you both pause
Yes, it can still scan passively
I'm just tryna word mouth words okay
Bruh
If you want i can do it again but I'm pretty sure toms has comparisons of the sn550 in their p5 plus review
This is only step one in keeping defender from using resources
Ahh no they don't have sn550
But I'm just going to be doing the test on p5 OS I'm not bothered doing both OS/non OS
I've malware bytes atm do i do win def and that?
Unless you have the paid version malwarebytes isn't doing any active scanning, except the scheduled scans
Defender knows this and still runs normally, unless you have the paid version as mentioned before
I do yeah dad pays for it so might as well
In that case disabling mwb might trigger defender to wake up
During normal use defender knows mwb is doing the protecting so it hangs back and sleeps
Hmm gimme a few mins to get off my ass and go upstairs and I'll figure it out
I cannot find this setting for the life of me is it different on win 10/11 or something?
Should be the same
Search in settings for "defender" and it'll pop up with security settings
"virus and threat protection"
"manage settings"
icue likes to turn itself back on every 5-6 minutes a warning
That seems a lot better, much more like you'd expect
sn550 still wins in one category tho lol
You should see mine
Lol
i copied my sn550 to p5 and didnt wipe sn550 yet
Deep queue hardly counts because it's rarely used irl
still tho for a budget drive vs an "s tier"
I mean
for vid production there is a night and day difference here still
ye for most normies it's nothing
now compare sn770

P5 plus here too
poggies
reading this here for all the rand tests the P5 Plus is no p41 plat but it's not horrible either
would say SN770 is nicer
But remember in rand p41 plus is p41 plat
Prob want to mention it's the P41 plus not the P41
Wdym?
In #tech-deals, they already edited it
Ahh
@pallid geyser Awesome man, I was actually in the market for another charge cable.
Sweet, I got free shipping as well
May can use code MARCH15 for another 15% off but unsure
Only wired for 2.0 but it does do charging, if that's all you need
yep, I can leave one at work and in muh car
Too bad the only C port I have is on the back of my PC and it doesn't do PD
Our work apple tablet has a c charger. we have a lighter plug in for the car that you can plug an actual wall charger into or usb a/c
heck
