Sweet! This looks promising. Thanks for the info!
Thank you, im quite happy with it despite its age. Your’s is also impressive.
I remember buying it to play X-Wing.
I got mine to play star wars squadrons but It didn't support it sadly
United by Star Wars.
And old sticks
tf is buildcores
I don't trust that site lol
wait actually that site is cool asf
I tried building my computer. They don't have my Corsair TX850M wtf
Literally unusable
smh
basically my build
https://buildcores.com/builds/CupPLi?share=true
3D PC Builder and Part Picker. Find compatible parts for the lowest prices and see how your build looks before you buy.
I'm more impressed with the site than the build
Hahahaha yea it’s cool asf
Lots of great potential tbh and can help give a better idea of what your actually gonna build and can help aesthetic stuff
Same, no aios or my case
It's a pretty new site, they're working on adding more components
Is it ok to take apart my joycon with the batteries still charged? I’m gonna do a joy stick replacement
I guess you could play it down to half or so
There should be a plug for the battery so you can disconnect it
Idk though I’ve never had to disassemble a joycon
There was, replaced my joysticks with some Hall effect ones and it’s pretty nice
Yeah I figured there would be
How'd the procedure go?
Went well, was a little tricky at 1st with removing the power cable cause of how small it was, but after removing it everything else was pretty easy
I’m getting back into gaming and I can play portably again
i have a problem
sometimes when i play games in my laptop
it automatically switches to integrated
or like when i checked the task manager
gpu usage drops down from 90-95% to 10-12% for 5-7 seconds
idk why this happens
(yes i play game with the charger plugged in)
some lighter games laptops can switch to igpu. you can force some applications to use the dgpu depending on the hardware. for nvidia I believe it is an option in nvidia control panel under program settings
im talking about wuthering waves and elden rings.
i did chose nvidia but it still happens.
and like i cant use nvidia overlay in game
like outside i can use
when switched to file explorere
Just recovered my seagate drive
Dismantled it now it's running internally finally... beforehand it was unusable...
There is one issue
I can't seem to understand how I remove the exisitng drive. it's just sitting on the floor...
Tried to remove the screws I can't really reach it
Drive bays usually have some way of coming out before you can unscrew it from the housing
I think my twilight princess disc is cooked
I have no idea what the previous owner did to this game but It did not deserve this
Looks like heat damage?
That's what game exchange said
Man that really sucks
Heard it was a good game so I wanted to try it
Any recommendations for a laptop not smaller than 14in that could play games like Minecraft, genshin and such? Priced less than $600
Perfect, thank you!
Anyone know anything about action cams?
Pretty sure GoPro fell off and DJI is the goat now
Other than that idrk
I thinking that too
But I think the difference between the action 3 and 4 is enough to warrant the 4
But I cannot find a used one at a decent price
Like including all the goodies
There's a 3 at a nice price with the battery pack which is worthhh if they take the low ball

Dji and insta360 but iirc insta is under some fire
Bettt
afaik insta360 still would have the best 360 degree camera for consumers
Oh yeah for 360 cams
@night lotus bot? ^^
Kicked
Thanks
has anyone ever figured out what the fan connector pinout is on 30 series founders edition cards?
What country uses this outlet
Looks like the UK plug
So is valve a British company cause they came with my steamdeck
They're headquartered in Washington
If you bought refurb, it could've been a returned UK version
Or if you had your payment address set in the UK, they might send you the hardware based off of that
Oh so then I have no idea why I have the UK version of the steamdeck charger, cause my brother bought it then I bought it off him
He did buy it used
Yeah that’s probably why then, but did your brother actually use that uk block then? In the us?
"Earth pin" is kinda funny lol
right one is the middle east
left is europe
i know italy has there own quirky thing but germany uses that aswell
Yeah it was an adapter for the charger
Good afternoon. My name is Ed, I’m new to the form. I seek information regarding a Bluetooth extender. I have a camera surveillance system with a recorder that will be in a closet about two walls away from where I will be using a wireless mouse to control the screens and cameras.I seek a device that will enhance that Bluetooth signal to get it through the walls. Any help would certainly be appreciated.
Pretty sensible plug design
Sheathed live pins and it's chunky so it's more difficult to damage or knock loose
it's also designed with a fuse in mind
extra layer of protection for the ones that have it
the only downside is that it's chunky
The EU and AU plugs are a pretty good middle ground
they're safer than US plugs while having a small footprint
Wish we ar least used GFCI for all the circuits
Gfci is very expensive
Isn't gfci the thing they put in kitchens
It’s common for kitchens, bathrooms, labs. Anywhere you might use higher powered appliances
Usually anywhere that has water
Ye
I’m actually jealous of the UK plug
(They can basically handle higher voltage and current, right? Anyways that’s why I’m jealous lol)
They got a whole ass fuse
I'm not wanting for higher power margins honestly
We have 220v circuits for when we need them
Your computer is cursed and inhabited by demons, cast yourself and it into a pool of lava
keep in mind I only tough the grounded parts of the dp cable and the monitor
I've been thinking about that lately
- the only connection to the pc without the dp cable is via the dc psu of the monitor & power strip
Perhaps its a short or sm
i dont think its the wak function since its just gnd to gnd. maybe just static, might be enough to trigger the power switch
yet somehow it only works when the pc is in sleep mode
Wierd
Can someone with more knowledge of how electricity works help this guy because im quickly drawing blanks
nvm if it works only when in sleep mode there's a chance it involves wake on dp
lemme turn it off if I find it
Make sure your IO shield is properly lined up
Could be the port isn't grounded correctly?
the monitor isn't technically grounded since it uses a dc psu without a gnd connection
so I assume that static buildup causes this
only problem with the UK plug is for portable devices
like, you need a carrying case for the power adapter ong
lol
yeah I like having a little 100w GaN anker charger
it's so small I can fit it nicely in my laptop bag
like the steam deck, you can tuck the charger cable in the back thing on the case (where it's intended to be) with something like the US plug, but the uk plug will NOT fit
and it has sheathed prongs too, which I don't see in basically any other US plug
i need to reprogram a bios chip since i bricked it, the model is mxic mx 25L6473E, but the software I'm using with the Ezp2023 doesn't have that specific one. is there an equivalent?
nvm it auto detected as another similar chip
not the cleanest resolder, but it worked
kapton overload
i had to cus that chip wouldnt come off at sun surface temperature
and you know... capacitors
one hides under the bracket
let's hope this mess works
cleaned up a bit, now for some uv resin
Oh boy what is going on here
bought the mb as not working, description mentioned dram led always on after case and components swap. I assumed the contact frame came loose and it would have been a simple fix, but when I got it, upon closer inspection, I found this 2mm wide ram related ic missing w ripped pads... the rest was pain
I probably wouldn't have noticed if that m2 slot wasn't chipped
it powers on fine but I still need to borrow some ddr5 to test it
just passed testmem5 on both slots, I only have one dimm rn, but so far that's an amazing achievement
what capacitors are these? are they 10uF? is there an inexpensive replacement thats about 5mm? will ceramic caps do just fine or should i be using electrolytic caps?
they're for an old 90s cirrus logic gpu, and they currently cause significant artifacts. unless the problem is elsewhere
these are the only ones apparently leaking near gpu circuitry so they're likely the culprits
Man I wish I knew more about electronics
You need a really steady hand to do this kind of repair though
Tapping off of a tiny trace is not easy
I wish there was like a DaVinci surgery robot but instead of surgery and costing as much as like a small neighborhood, it does soldering
You know what
It's probably not even a small neighborhood anymore
Housing prices are too high
You probably could only buy like 2-4 houses for the price of the DaVinci robot
yeah maybe a single court
Using it though and the clarity on the screens make the price high, it reduced the shakiness from my hand which even allowed me to perform tasks that I couldn’t with hands alone
Anybody know why this laptop fan is making this noise (@ me)
busted
The only reason the price is high is due to it being medical equipment
High clarity camera + screen and precise movements can be done for much cheaper
true. I do know some medical equipment they use displays with specific certifications but pretty sure you can still find such devices at not so outrageous prices
Hello chat. I want to buy a Wii console but I don't know if I should go for a refurbished one or sealed/CIB one and I also plan to mod it with an hdmi mod.
Sealed is probably going to run you a fortune
Refurbished
Hello again chat, I plan to also do some PC retro gaming and I was wondering what online resource do you recommend in order to build an old pc gaming machine.
Old?
Old?

are power banks dangerous to have at home? (e.g. fires?)
If you buy from a trustworthy manufacturer and don't store them in direct sunlight you should be fine
I recommend Anker and Ugreen
how about iniu? also is higher watts dangerous?
i am looking at anker or iniu
have not heard of iniu. Anker is great and has solid warranties as well. What do you mean by higher watts?
like if a power bank has a high watts
output wattage could be dangerous if it's super high and overheats. Probably not something to be worried about if it's from a legit brand
This mf broke the streak
For some dumb question wow
Restarting
I would get it from a big brand, but it may be possible that some Anker products cause issues.
Make sure the batteries don't overheat or get physically damaged and you should be fine
?
should i avoid high wattage power banks?
i'd just get from a big trusted brand manufacturer. i wouldn't worry about avoiding anything. maybe a review about overheating
bruh
Bro has "discord mods are the saddest creatures on earth" in his bio but then also has 1900+ hours on msfs and claims to be a "professional" flight sim pilot
Lmk how I can get paid to play flight sim and I'll hop on that profession real quick
What does my bio have anything to do with this conversation
Yeah pro flight sim pilot not real pilot 💀 I have been teased abt this many times and I don’t know why I guess ppl don’t know jokes exists
Nothing really, but it's public information. I checked in the first place because you were asking basic googleable questions and then re-asked one of them and I wanted to check if you were the person I was reminded of.
Well ppl actually stream flight sim so they technically make a few bucks
You know pilots get trained in flight simulators…
I don’t like discord mods cuz they abuse their power by punish for small things or bs
Also they are meme
If you are a mod, you are better off not flexing it irl
You do realize Google hence AI isn’t always accurate. It’s always good to check with a real human being
Yeah so actually when I say google I don't mean AI. (That would be Gemini) Next time I will say "utilize a search engine" for more clarity
Look at the top reddit answer or Wikipedia article
If there's none read the top article
i was thinkin abt sayin that
the AI answers are good as jumping off points
similarly search engines themselves are
wikipedia can be useful because it cites sources on things and you can get the actual good informatiion
guys I found my moms 10 year old PC ,how do I clean it
I already know its gonna be bad its a teachers computer from 2010 but hey its still a free case and stuff
air duster
toothbrush
all you need
Do it outside as well
really I thought I would need more ,guess I'll go find an old tooth brush
Repasting the CPU could also be a good idea
this is my first time even opening i a computer
are these capacitors at risk of shocking me
Only if you open the psu
Everything that you can touch outside of the PSU is going to be 12v or lower
And yeah
I low-key just watched a 3 minute video that I think was ai
The PSU is the thing with the red and yellow cables coming out of it
As long as you don't open that, nothing in a PC can kill you
Unless you're in Australia and a spider that can kill you is inside the pc
For getting a PC ready to be used, all you need to do is get rid of excess dust, and replace the thermal paste on the cooler
It's actually not an adhesive
really
It's a paste that makes thermal transfer between 2 surfaces more efficient
oh so like lubricant for heat
The cpu and cooler do not have perfectly flat surfaces, so the paste fills in those gaps so it will have as much surface contact as possible
dad told me to soak it in water and put it in rice 💀
But as the paste gets old, it dries out (or rather it separates) and does not work as well as it used to
Ignoring that it would cause shorts and corrosion, that would just make the dust even more stuck on after it dries lol
so I can take out this ram and it wont do anything
lowkey feels stuck in there anyway
why is there a coin cell battery in this
I also see what looks like a pizio electric speaker some of this stuff is in my arduinos
how do I reach this dust do I have to take the fan out
or will it just blow awya
away*
Carefully
so i got the dust out
I just don't know how to use a computer without actually signing in
Question: anyone have any experience on a low end gaming laptop for travel that actually charges on a plane? Every time I fly the laptop I have doesn’t work because airplanes only accept low voltage.
Looking to get something before I go on a 24 hour flight next week that will actually play a game or two to help kill time.
I'm guessing you'd be limited to an igpu
That’s perfectly fine. Just need to be able to charge it on a plane. I also read about buying backup batteries, but I don’t have any experience in that either. Just looking for a resolution if there is one.,
I don't fly often, but I'd imagine the power output on planes would be more for phones, right? Anything other than a MacBook would need at least 45W
planes usually either have 5v usb or international ac outlets. if your laptop uses a lot of power it might just be better to find a power bank that has high enough wattage and is under the plane limit?
but that type of use case is basically exactly what gaming handhelds like the steam deck or rog ally are made for.
Good suggestion, but I’ve taken power banks as I always do on international flights and the usb/usb-c just won’t charge a gaming laptop. Granted mine is like 6-7 years old and doesn’t hold charge as it used to.
yeah there are power banks nowadays that can supply 100w+ ofc running at that much power won't last terribly long with the airline limit of around 99Wh
Exactly, I was hoping there was like a low voltage charger or even a backup battery I could buy that would give me a good amount of time or could alternate between the two batteries or charge them each as I switched kind of thing
But I’m not familiar with any of that type of gear
My quick search said that the ac outlets are typically 75W
A handheld might honestly be the play though
yeah if it's really just for gaming and maybe some light web browsing that might be the play. they are more efficient, decently capable, small to carry
Unfortunately the handhelds won’t work for the mmo I was trying to play that would make a good time kill.
On that note: anyone know of a good laptop battery back up of some kind I can buy that might give my laptop a second life after the main one dies? 😝
And if there is even one that I could charge in a 75w-95w ac adapter when switching them
Personally I use bricks from anker. I think i have their 25,000mah, 165w brick which has worked nicely
Just connect it directly to the engine
what would be a cheap "ok" option for a subwoofer amplifier
connects via coaxial (RCA type) connector for the input
budget is as cheap as possible
Just got my HP laptop and has a ton of HP-branded apps, can I delete these?
myHP
OMEN Gaming Hub
HP System Event Utility
HP Connection Optimizer
HP Inc. Energy Star
HP PC Hardware Diagnostis Windows
HP Privacy Settings
HP Smart
HP Stub App
HP Support Assistant
why is there soooo much
idk specifically for HP but Dell Support assistant can do driver and bios updates so (assuming HP does the same) it might be nice to keep
Privacy settings is probably worth a peek
I don't own an HP laptop, but I work in IT with HP devices. I'm assuming this is a gaming laptop, given the "OMEN Gaming Hub" program. In my IT department, we pretty much only use HP Support Assistant (this is used for drivers and BIOS updates). As for everything else, I've never heard of it
Probably not the best input, but at least it's some advice lol
Not gaming.
Its the $500 Ryzen AI 7 350 laptop with no dGPU
It would still be under their gaming branding if it's under the omen branding (which is their gaming line)
It competes with like Alienware, legion, ROG, etc.
Make sure McAfee isn't also installed
some you can definitely remove, support assistant is probably for driver notifications so id keep that (i have dell support assistant so id know), if theyre taking resources id recommend running a debloater script anyway if you havent alreadyq
how does this pass any regulations!?
looks fine to me
What's the issue?
the almost exposed contacts ready to fry your thumb
Idk looks like the British type where the bottom is covered so it's only exposed when it's not connected
think he talking about the other end
Look no further if you are looking for a silver toned watch that can be both durable and stylish, the CASIO A168W-1 might just be what you're looking for. The A168W-1 is a silver toned digital watch that encompasses everything you need. With a stainless steel band and a stainless steel watch face...
OLEVS Mens Ultra Thin Leather Watches Large Dial Navy Blue, Minimalist Slim Big Face Date Dress Quartz Watch for College Students Waterproof,Simple Casual Analog Wristwatch with Band Blue
Opinions?
I’m partial to the 2nd and 3rd.
Can’t go wrong with casio
The 2nd looks tacky imo
Jesus took a quick look at entry level automatic watches wtf happened to their pricing?
the first one is a very popular choice I know of. Personally I'm more a fan of the digital watches in the lower price range
I like the third, but worried it’s bulky.
i love casios
very accurate as well
(mine is) +/- 15 seconds a month
the vintage one is +/- 30 seconds a month though
1st option and 3rd option should probably work with the most outfits, 2nd option has a bit more of a bold colour which may work with slightly fewer
in terms of longevity though, the casio digital watch is almost certainly going to outlast option 2 and 3
and is absolutely going to destroy the battery life of the electro mechanical watches
option 2/3 would probably have a mere like 2-3 year batt life
the digital is probably going to have 10 years
I don’t care about fashion, just which will last, and isn’t bulky
I also want a metal or leather band
Under $34
you could also get the classic f91w
the OG casio
it will take a beating
don't be fooled by the resin band
in the.... 40 or so years this watch has been around, the resin has proven to be reliable, and even protects the watch better
which is why the gshock line exists
if you work in trades and may bang your watch around, it's better to have resin
a gshock may even be better though may be out of your budget
yeah far higher price
i'd say casio is better known for their digital watches than their analog
not saying that their analog watches are bad of course but there's definitely a fair bit of competition on that front
What other “cheap” companies do analog watches?
I see OLEVS everywhere.
Geneva? @west fable
Olevs is one of those Chinese brands that just made a bunch of shit and put them on Amazon and Ali and temu and such which is why they're like everywhere
Ah shi
They do a fairly good job at marketing and design to make it seem more premium despite its low price
Are they any good? The reviews seem to be solid for it.
Though I'm also not sure you could really get anything significantly better for a budget of under 36
34 I mean
From what I've heard of them, they aren't terrible at least yeah
But they are definitely not premium
https://a.co/d/8xHrUnh
I would like to get this one then, but I don’t like the band
most of the analog style watches I know of on lower end start between 50-100usd
I want more of a metal or this type band
Honestly though, if you're not going for the casios, it probably would be about similar to get a similar watch on AliExpress, there are a few more other brands around
I'm not sure if that watch has a spring clip for the band to be easily replaced but most do
So you may be able to get a different band
20mm band it looks like
This looks about what I want
How would I go about getting a new band @west fable
Ah
I haven’t owned many watches
So I may come and ask you more later
I mean
I don't have that many watches either
I love vintage mechanical watches
Unfortunately my wallet
(they also are not very accurate and will lose/add second(s) every day)
Vintage watches?
I wanted to try out a seiko mechanical watch one day
I also want one of those German cuckoo clocks just because i think they are so cool
I like the mechanisms of watches
The seiko 5’s are like 4 hundies now 😭
Looks like demand skyrocketed
Yes
Especially ones with radium in them because they glow by themselves but a good working one is rare now due to... Its hazards lmao
That’s fair lmao
Can’t imagine you could find any that don’t cost as much as a 4090 now
Bro what
Radium dials are watch, clock and other instrument dials painted with luminous paint containing radium-226 to produce radioluminescence. Radium dials were produced throughout most of the 20th century before being replaced by safer tritium-based luminous material in the 1970s and finally by non-toxic, non-radioactive strontium aluminate–based p...
as a result of it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radium_Girls
The Radium Girls were female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting radium dials – watch dials and hands with self-luminous paint. The incidents occurred at three factories in the United States: one in Orange, New Jersey, beginning around 1917; one in Ottawa, Illinois, beginning in the early 1920s; and one in Waterbur...
this was made worse by them ingesting radium while working on the dials (it was recommended to use their mouth to straighten the paintbrush for more accurate painting of the radium paint)
The brushes would lose shape after a few strokes, so the USRC supervisors encouraged their workers to point the brushes with their lips ("lip, dip, paint"), or use their tongues to keep them sharp.[9] Because the true nature of the radium had been kept from them, the Radium Girls also painted their nails, teeth, and faces for fun with the deadly paint produced at the factory.[10]
Oh I was talking about seiko 5 prices but ye the radium ones are a neat bit of history
Don’t know that id want a radioactive watch lol
Still hardlex btw
I need a wireless charger for my iPhone 11 Pro
One that’s not $30+
Does anyone know of any brands?
I avoid wireless charging as it accelerates battery wear
If I were to get one I'd probably get it from Anker
Or this if you want a stand
Power Wave Stand The Optimized Wireless Charging Stand High-Speed Charging for flagship Samsung phones gets boosted to a blazing-fast 10W Power any wirelessly-charged device in your arsenal at an uninterrupted 5W Versatile Viewing Twin charging coils let you watch videos in landscape orientation ...
Oh those don't claim to work with iphone 11
Hmm
Does 11 not have magsafe maybe
My pro is already at 70% battery
Honestly If you think you'll be using the phone for at least 2 more years I might look into a battery replacement
I just need something rates for 7.5w to last me a few months
Looking to get a 17 in a few months
Any reason you can't just use wired charging?
I'd probably just get something super cheap if you're using it for a couple months
Charger port is dying
Fr
Kinda wish they'd bring back that size
Not mini but slightly smaller than the base models
It’s my perfect size
Too bad they just went big
I’m probably gonna go with a standard 17
Don’t need the pro camera
The battery would be nice but eh
Base 17 finally gets 120hz which is nice
@floral ginkgo
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Absolutely mfing mogged
Nah I set veinminer search radius to 100
Every time I look at my side IPS monitor then the main Mini-LED screen I feel like I am getting flash banged lmao
I have this older Kano pc kit from when I was younger that apparently is built using a raspberry pi 3. Could I repurpose it into something else (mostly the raspberry pi and monitor)?
It’s the November 2017 version
Is the raspberry pi 3 relatively strong compared to modern raspberry pi’s?
Like it could run Minecraft (pi edition)
no.... even compared to the 4 it's not really that good (it's like 35% slower than the pi4, and the pi5 is another leap)
but it's good enough for most you could use it for
you can make any custom app for the raspi as it just runs a modified version of linux
modified to be lighter
you could use the screen for like a homeassistant interface if you want
or like as a weather station (viewer)
idk if it's touchscreen or not
it's less useful if it isn't touchscreen
if you don't want to use the screen, the pi3 by itself is pretty powerful
you can use it trigger things with the gpio pins (will likely need to grab a relay module though)
you can run the homeassistant server on the pi3 as well
instead of it just being a viewer
though it might not have enough ram to be the server
i'm pretty sure the pi you have in that kit is the pi3b, which might have enough?
you could also use it to run pihole for your own private dns adblocker
or maybe like retropi and emulate some ps1 games which it should probably be able to handle
i would recommend getting esp32's for smaller IoT projects though since they're more compact, though they are often still overkill
Wow I was just about to recommend a Beelink S13. They've really increased in price wtf
But for a weather panel, a Pi is perfect enough tbh
I wonder if I can use the screen for the weather panel since it only uses a hdmi and power input
Power input is for the included rechargeable battery
Battery is usb C (or micro usb I don’t remember) powered
I just gotta find a replacement for the sd card or wipe it
https://www.razer.com/gaming-mice/razer-viper-v4-pro. Second generation wireless
How's the strength of N100 Pc's
Can run multiple Plex streams (in 4K iirc)
Super low-powered. They can do a lot (more than a Raspberry Pi imo)
Don't buy them at $300 though. Wait until they’re back down below $200
In terms of multithreaded performance, it's a mere 2nd gen i7 approximately
But it excels due to low power draw (great for servers without much activity) and also it has qsv which is great for jellyfin (better quality than most hardware encoders)
I believe it's based on alderlake?
I have confirmed it is
mmmm good comments
mmm yes very good
alderlake, but the gracemont E cores's specifically. so a paired down skylake in equivalent performance when it has the instruction set for a given application
Anyone know the best option for a PS3 cooling fan that is quieter and more productive. I assume in the twenty years since I got it there has been some sort of improvements
It looks like it's a blower style fan specific to the ps3
So any innovations for fans does not really apply to the ps3
It looks like you may be able to make it quieter with a replacement fan with 19 blades, and also a repaste of the die
If you haven't repasted the PS3 yet, the repaste probably would make the ps3 alot quieter by itself at lower loads
I did that already and I ordered a nineteen blade. It looks like the fifteen has a issue with the edges allowing air to just bypass reducing the effectiveness. Idk that's what I read I was thinking about the printed cap that helps the processor stay in contact with the heat dissipation so it isn't relying entirely on the thermal paste. Supposed to be an alternative to the eraser hack.
Not sure where else to post this but here we go:
I recently got a 500mm Warbird from Volantexrc, and it came with a brushless motor and a 2S battery as compared to the 1S batteries of the 400mm warbirds I’m used to flying. On a whim, I swapped out the 2S battery that came with the plane for one of my 3S batteries meant for my Eflite UMX planes, I have never seen such a small plane reach easy 50 -55 mph in level flight before and I’m terrified to keep flying it like that.
I’m not concerned about the actual electronics issue regarding overheating as the absolute LEAFBLOWER that is the prop on 11.1v moves enough air through the inlets to easily cool the battery, motor, control board, and receiver. The problem is I’m not particularly sure that the poor brushless motor controller will survive such a load for long
And the servos seemed especially responsive under that load.
You're overvolting the RC by like 30%
The specs on the store doesn't say what is the tolerance of voltages for the plane; just that it says to use 2s batteries
If you keep using it with 3s batteries, you might blow some board up from an overloaded resistor or something, but this depends on if they're using off the shelf parts or their own boards, as off the shelf parts may be designed to work with a larger voltage range than something custom
E.g. looking at the Matek F405 board, that supports 3s-6s (9v-30v)
Personally I would stick with using 2s unless you can disassemble the plane to take a look at all the boards to determine if it would be fine with that much more voltage
I will try, but volantex doesn’t make their planes very repairable
Probably wouldn't risk it then unless it's cheap enough to get another if it breaks
By any chance are getting Nintendo Switch chargers a scam? Or am I just lucky? Was in hospital a month and noticed when I got discharged that my switch plug was still in its case, and that a 15 foot cable plugged into a 65w multi adapter was used instead. Was considering buying a set just for my switch.
As long as you use a good quality adapter and cable it should be fine
Use a type C to C cable (not A to C) and ensure the cable and adapter both support PD
Type C cable is good and universal
Glances at Apples proprietary fast charging
?
Oh maybe magsafe charging is proprietary
Their usb C isn't though
Further research has shown that what I’ve heard was in fact, a rumor
It has no substance
Anyone have an good recommendations on some home theater speakers and a receiver? I'm not trying to break the bank too badly lol. These were originally my picks until the speakers became unavailable and now I'm looking for totally new options.
Check out Costco
I bought a 250 dollar 5.1.4 setup and it works pretty good without a receiver
Also I don't think your name is PG
Check with a mod and see if that's allowed, unless you already did then please ignore me

😉
you might be able to find some speakers for cheap at a thrift store or fbmp or ebay
my home theater setup is made completely out of parts from thrift stores
asides from the tv
Good to know thanks!
Is this the best smart ceiling light I can get? (Bright, RGB, flatish on ceiling) https://us.govee.com/products/color-changing-smart-led-ceiling-lights
This is the only light for my mid size bedroom so I wanna make sure it’s bright enough
I'm not sure why you want an RGB light for your room
I personally wouldn't want to spend the money on that
It can be nice to have a more neutral white during the day and a warmer white in the evening, speaking as someone who has an rgb light in their room that doesn't get a ton of natural sunlight
I also like the automatic features like turning on and off at certain times of the day
That's fair ig
I would recommend going with the secondary market for a decent receiver. A 10 year old 7.1 Receiver works just fine today unless you need to have the latest Dolby Vision support
@chrome dust lmk when you’re available
tekonologia
@night lotus I'm here, what do you need?
I have an old laptop. toshiba l55-c5272
How do I reset this thing with user data on it?
These people never cleared it before donating it to me
I would just reinstall the os, that oughta clear out anything
Slot a usb drive with install media into that thing and do a clean install
Make sure to format the laptop's drive
It’s running windows 10 I think.
I also have a Lenovo idea pad yoga 13.
Okay
I’ll find a 10 recovery key
@night lotus Bitlocker?
Oh yeah, does it have bitlocker?
I was wondering if that's what was stopping him from reinstalling Windows lol. If that's the case, you could try putting any Linux distro on a USB (just a live install. No installation to the main drive) and then wipe the whole drive, including Bitlocker. Reinstall Windows after wiping the drive
That's the same idea that came to my mind when you asked about bitlocker
lol I had an argument with a commenter on some social media discussing this. Just the standard "'yeah you can' vs 'no you can't'" argument lollll
If this question was asked elsewhere people would most likely say "no you can't without a key"
The official microslop forums always answer like that
How I'd imagine:
Instagram: "No you can't"
TikTok: "No you can't. Also you're racist"
Reddit: "yes but you might need a key"
Facebook: "I don't know"
Nada
Yeah I'd just wipe the whole drive and reinstall Windows if the users' data isn't important
Yeah it’s not
They didn’t wipe any of the laptops lmao
But they donated them all
Just gotta find chargers for some
wow new channel
so. many. channels.
EYYY

electronical electronics
Welp, this is an actual appropriate question for this new channel. Has anyone ever used a Roomba or iRobot Vacuum?
@hazy shale I still use a vacuum from the 1980's lol
i think my aunt has one, maybe i can ask her lol
Lol I want to get one but ppl tell me that it doesn't really work as expected.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csGdz5_gZiY should watch this then or a similar video to it
Should You Buy a Robot Vacuum Cleaner? - I'm testing the £899 iRobot Roomba 980 robot vacuum cleaner to find out how it works and if it's worth buying. US: http://amzn.to/2y1zbBk | UK: http://amzn.to/2zwZpjo
Music credit: NAKED GUN THEME - IRA NEWBORN
Thanks for watching! ...
@hazy shale hope that video helps clears things up for you
Ooooo nice, thanks @wind wind
I would tend to rely on a video review of someone that would use it for longer than a month
well also depending on the product as well
idk to me it just looks like it wouldnt do that good of a job
its kinda small
also depending on if you have pets that shed a lot
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Well when you watch the video Zack he explains that there is different models for different job
Yeah. I'd love one, but I think I'll wait for next year's Black Friday
probably a good idea
we got a stick vacuum at my dads house, its awesome for quick things
the model we got doesnt work well on thick carpet, but its awesome for cleaning the stairs and hardwood floors
mostly because its light and cordless
only thing is its super expensive

💀
and this is one of the cheaper models
now im getting recommendations for vacuum cleaners

can i talk about straight up wires
sure?
New channel? I like
I like this.
join the conversation on Roomba's
No, I wanna talk about wires. Straight, curly, birds nest, 'sall good man.
Well the topic of today is vacuums 😛
I need a vacuum pump , maybe <https://www.amazon.com/VIVOHOME-Stage-Rotary-Vacuum-Bottle/dp/B07LBMNV31
ive always wanted a vacuum chamber
I have the older model for this one https://rainbowsystem.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/RainbowSRX-animation2.gif
just toss the water outside after with all the dirt
We have one from the 70s, great vacuum
Rainbow vacuums are amazing
@winter edge we have the newer model rainbow it works pretty well
That is a very interesting machine - aren't regular ac units good enough at spreading legionella?
Hi im looking fot help with a hard drive enclosure
External?
For... Newegg?
This is where you go for support with their products. If you need more general help like help with your build then you're in the right place.
^
@quaint scarab for help with orders and newegg, send a message to @civic tartan, but tech questions can be asked here or in #general-chat or #building-and-recc-chat
Ok thanks
yep
just bought a razer huntsman and put HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps on it
it looks sick
what about the rest of the F-keys?
I've always wanted those keys
glowy
Ya'll wouldn't happen to know where I can find a ryzen 5 laptop would you?
Pcpartpicker has a laptop option in the systembuilder @hearty oxide
Huh.
It was my way of saying oh
Kinda nice that it has that option though
I have a ryzen 5 laptop @hearty oxide What you want to know about it?
Nothing. Didn't know how much of a thing it is compared to intel laptops
lol AMD laptops exist haha
Wait for 4000 series to hit the market
oh, ryzen 2 was kinda a niche thing
But for 600$, I can't complain about the performance, just wish Dell didn't put the absolute minimum battery capacity into this inspiron
I wanted to get back into photography and was told ryzen is great for work
It is
Ask Rossman
wireless soldering irons, very interesting
i know it's not what you asked but for several years i used one of these to replace SMT mounted stuff, now obviously I was using a kit with different tips and had tiny needlepoint ones https://www.newegg.com/p/0J6-001X-003Z4?Description=Hakko FX888D29BY%2FP&cm_re=Hakko_FX888D29BY%2FP-_-9SIA17P9U36009-_-Product
we had a few different models at work but those were far and away my favorites, had to snipe them
Folks like eevblog/rossman very often recommend ts80/100 , hakko , or discount weller etc - the chinese unit I ordered seems to be a newish popular option for t12 tips
i am not sure if weller discontinued these ones but i used these for non-rework stuff and they are solid too https://www.amazon.com/Weller-WES51-Analog-Soldering-Station/dp/B07MTYPP4Q
I have a problem
I think my motherboard is fries but don’t know because all the lights and stuff turn on but there is a black screen
What do it do?
If it doesnt post, that can be an issue with pretty much any component on it.
I would check all your cables and connections first, then see if you can get into BIOS. If you can get into BIOS, the first thing I'd check is your GPU, or Integrated Graphics if that's what you have. There's a ton of other things you could do, and I'm sure other people would do it different, but that's my 2 cents worth.
has it worked before or is this first boot?
Good question. I forgot to ask that.
Ryzen 1
Either do a lg system tv setup or a samsung one
Lg tvs are better tho
Picking a TV is hard! This is the OLED TV I was using in this video: https://lgoled.co/JerryRigEverything With the massive difference in the starfield video Ive decided to use OLED for my office TV. Huge thanks to LG for sponsoring this video. Without seeing the TV's side by...
It is somewhat annoying to deal with the oled cra0 you get with oled tvs
Like lg setup was pretty seamless and only took about 1 hour
Where samsung tv and lg sb was 3 hours
Trust me
Lg has a pretty good ecosystem
At one point when i get payed more
I would like to make a window tv linus tech tips style
Eh
Seems quite easy
Reason: Bad word usage
See ya man
What carrier/region?
Version currently. USA.
The pixel 3a launched at a very attractive price
I'd say it depends on what upgrade / financing packages verison offers
I use a pixel 2 and 3, both on project fi, used to use a p1, and the p2 on verizon before that.
Well, I'll likely buy it without contracts n stuff, since I'm on a plan that I believe is flexible.
I outright bought this one, and plan on outright buying the next
So is it still a good deal for today? Or is there another better deal at the (I guess sub 500$) price range?
I'd investigate your plan options first. I originally bought the pixel 3 for "$800" but that was free financing over 1 year with 0 apr, 400 back in credit , I'd look for similar deals
I'd actually recommend looking into buying used off swappa if you want an unlocked, no strings attached phone
pixel 2's, 3's are cheap now
If you get a pixel 2, just ensure to get the US/NA version, the CDMA version
Interesting, but if I wanted to get something new just in case, are there any other options? (Non-used hardware)
I've had issues in the past with used hardware overall, and rather not have to deal with any of that again if you're wondering.
Something like a new pixel 3a off project fi using their financing deal, trade in credit, and referrall bonus.
sign up for device protection for $7 a mo, verizon's package is $200 upgfront IIRC
?
Google Fi I mean, the new name for the carrier
I'm unsure about verizon's non contract offerings
Idrk too much about phone plans nd stuff, rn I have a version plan paid on a monthly basis
Can I just remove the sim card from this and put it in the new one without contacting Verizon?
Assuming your current phone is using the physical sim for cell # on cdma, and also for LTE (it should) - you'd just have to ensure you buy a carrier unlocked new phone
Alright, is the amazon listing for 330$ a good one to pick up?
Idk, depends on seller, but for an unlocked, 100% new pixel 3a, (around) $330 is market price, yes.
Meant to type 340$, heres the listing https://www.amazon.com/Google-Pixel-Memory-Phone-Unlocked/dp/B07R7DY911/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=pixel+3a&qid=1579410194&sr=8-2
Seems fine. Personally, I'd grab a like-new pixel 3 for $220 off swappa vs 330 for a new 3a without any incentives like financing/credit.
But it's a great phone for $330 anyway imo.
https://reddit.com/r/pixel is a great resource
How much would my pc be with these parts bc im looking to sell
i7-9700
Zotac RTX 2070 Super
Gskill trident z ddr4 3000
Asrock z390 steel legend
Rosewill d100 case
evga super nova 750 g3 80 plus gold
i mean if its just a 9700 and not a 9700k the mobo is about as useful as a h370 cause u cant oc it, making it like $100
@hearty nimbus heck you could probably sell that for $1000+ and somebody would buy it
PC Partpicker says those parts with no drives new would cost $1300. I'd say $1000+ easy
ye i think someone would buy it for 1000 if it is in good condition, or maybe a little higher even
put some RGB on it and sell it for 2000
Ez
My note 9 battery is not lasting as long as it should and I'm sad
my iPhone 5c barely holds a charge
get a new phone
@timber shoal can we talk in a VC because i need technical support
@thick horizon If you have some kind of problem with something just toss a DM to @civic tartan and they will get back to you asap
This is true, I am not. I am a writer.

Y'all ever think you're good at something and then mess up and then have to spend 300$ that you don't have on a part to fix what you messed up
Well i think i am good at something and i know i never mess up
actually SIMs are not used in CDMA as i recall
or are they now?
aaaaaaaa scrolled up
gets me every time
should go visually check my scrollbar
also Ecks you probably mess up in subtle ways that you'll never notice, humans are about imperfections, it's what we do. we make mistakes.
i mess up all the time at everything
and it sometimes loses me money
i am happy with it yes
i got a better motherboard and things are good now
and yeah, money is fine now so i don't worry too much
i am not the type to worry about money
the first wave of my PC build i got a bad motherboard and wasted $120 because they wouldn't do a refund on a motherboard
and i was just like "eh"
and everyone around me was like WOW YOU LOST SOME SERIOUS MONEY
and i'm like it was like 120 bucks?
granted, 120 is significant for me
but also it's insignificant because the second you let money rule how you feel you're already losing the game
(life, that game)
eh it's no one elses business :p
sure
Failedgaming - oh absolutely. PSU's with proprietary connectors, fittings in the wrong thread size, brazing/welding flux in the wrong silver content, wrong oil for r407 refridgerent, list goes on - you're not in the least bit alone haha
oh god i never want a PSU like that
good thing my RM750 will last me a couple of builds
so i won't have to buy for a while
HP common slot server psu's are the easiest to get breakout boards/PDU boards for if you need an aux psu. Supericro - very hard, but easy to pick up a 4u with one if that's your need.
Was attempting a glass replacement on my S10 and hit the oled now I have to spend 300$ instead of 35$
yikes
I was listening to the radio and they said the iphone 7 can shoot 4k images and has a liquid retina display
Since the internet speed in the room I'm setting up a computer is terrible (20.8 download and 11 upload), should I go stick with WiFi boards, or should I attempt to run a cable up to the room
It's practice all the way across the house
if you can find a way to do it gracefully, ethernet. if not, you could get wifi extenders and place then strategically aroudn the house to bounce the signal there
to run it into the wall would require ripping out drywall all the way there
True
do you live in a one story or 2 story
2
oof
I'm over the garage though
are you running from an upstairs to downstairs?
Down to up
wait no that wont work prolly cause theres another studd you wont be able to get to
Drilling through a couple of studs isn't anything new
usually youd run it up to the attic and back down to the rooms you want it in
Yeah, that could be easy
I'm pretty sure where the router is already has a whole carved in the wall
but if you're trying to get to floor 1 you have to go through a studd that is between floor 1 and 2, which again, requires ripping out drywall
if you wait till tomorrow, look for a dude called ohtu to hop on. hes my cousin and does this for a living lol
thts not recomended
Wait running it through the wall wouldn't work
Windows on the second floor
so?
Immediately above the router
Hm wait. If I can figure out how to get it to the garage
I can have a whole come through my floor behind my desk
Hole
move router slightly to the left
You think I want to mess with the cables that is on that thing
There's a router
Ps4
Xbox360
wire management tiem
Hey guys how are you all doing? I have a problem and I've really exhausted all other contact channels offered by newegg, I hope you can help me through here: I recently bought a TV from you guys and it came broken so I’m trying to return it, the problem is that it has been 5 days and I still haven’t received any shipping information or anything, additionally the customer support dudes I've talked to have given me fake FedEx tracking numbers and stuff to get me off the phone, which is very disappointing. I just want to return my TV and get another one from you guys (I have an order number so you can verify this ofc)
@civic tartan ?
Yeah, DM Newegg Service
Ok sorry guys, Im a bit desperate, thanks
NO worries
this is why #BekoraForMod
Xd
so i have a GoPro hero4 that when connected to my pc and on my pc says usb device not recognized what do i do
is it on the right input
hey guys
is it epic?
is it epic?
maybe good
Rip
Better be epyc
It's nice
Nooo not the dreadful pixle 4
Pixel 3a gang.
Pixel 2 gang
I asked for the pixel 3a but aparently my parents went and bought whatever was newest.. I'm not complaining but eh
oh the horror
ive heard fnatic reacts are pretty good
but they are only $70 so if you are looking to spend more, you could probably find something better
alright i'll check those out
it would probably be better to spend less money
I mean all i need is just an upgrade from these skullcandy hesh 2's i have
lmao
those reacts look pretty cool
ya the only thing is i dont think they have 7.1
i see
do you have any experience with sennheiser or beyerdynamic by any chance?
i was looking at those beyerdynamic dt 990s
both are pretty premium, my nod goes to beyerdynamic though
i have the mmx300s which are wonderful
but if you have a standalone mic it would make more sense to get nice cans without a mic
but those are definitely not in your price range, i didn't see you were looking at $120
i see, thank you
i do have a stand-alone mic
and i wasn’t really looking for a gaming headset-more like a professional looking pair of headphones that i can listen to music comfortably
i also wear glasses, so it complicates the process
yeah, any of the studio sennheisers or studio BD cans will do you well then
i can't attest to glasses fitment though
the mmx300s are a pair of their studio headphones with a mic on it more or less
now i just have to find a way to convince my father to allow me to purchase them
i'm sure he'll be fine if i mention that they are a german company lmao
audio technica makes some nice, affordable stuff too
yeah
i can't say enough nice things about my BD headset
hahaha
imo light years beyond my sennheiser set from a couple years ago
i have a gigantic head and these are, without comparison, the most comfortable pair i've ever owned
now that's highly subjective and ymmv
i often wear it for 8-10 hours at a time and what tension?
it's very secured but i never feel a pinch or pressure
if you see the headband on this pair, this looks like the same headband on mine and if you can find one in your budget with that headband, it's what would be like these https://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/dt-990-edition.html
yeah that is a nice set of cans
some motherboards will have a soundcard that can adjust its impedance
so it depends on what motherboard you have
yeah but you'll definitely need an amp for that
no sound
too high of an electrical resistance for the power to go through more or less
oh i see
you can get decent amps for like $50
i'm currently using a gaming laptop
but i don't know if they can run 250ohm with the onboard sound
i'd be astonished
is there a way to check
check the manual to see the range of impedances it can power
but it probably has a range from like 4ohms-60ohms
the manual of your laptop that is
@ashen umbra I was looking to get headphones and had to decide whether to get the 250ohm and an amp or spend more for the 80ohm or even the 32ohm and save the money from the amp
What's your total budget for headphones+amp?
I ended up getting the Philips Fidelio X2HR which is supposedly very similar to the DT 990 and has an impedance of around 32Ohms
They cost $115 and can be run on any device
oh i see
But then I ended up getting a Dragonfly Red amp from a friend for just $60
Let me find them, there are several versions
@ashen umbra It's this one
It costs $145 for some reason now
But there's also a cheaper version that doesn't have removable earpads
If you wait I suppose you should be able to find them cheaper
I got them for $115
dem some expensive headphones
@ashen umbra visit a music gear shop, try on different headphones. What someone else might prefer/think sounds good, could easily sound horrible to you
Anyone know a fix for this the software will not detect my ram and the ram is not syncing https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/645402689282375680/672880071559741450/JPEG_20200131_190425.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/645402689282375680/672880071245299763/JPEG_20200131_190409.jpg
what mobo?
msi tomahawk b350 am4
Idt g skill software is compatible with that board or I'm I wrong
idk it worked when i got my ram but till september last year my ram just hasent been right
if it was working, somehing updated and is now conflicting most likely
i have tried the msi software but it turns the bottom 3 leds off
could it be the bios
have yyou unstilled the gskill stuff
cause if they are both running, could be fighting eachother
pop the ram out? and re-seat it even.
you could.
I helped a guy once with corsair ram, same issue kind of, and him changing the slots worked perfectly.
I swapped them and I will update when I'm at the desktop
That's a problem my pc is turning on and off now
Obv it stopped when I say that
yeah give it a sec.
Nope didn't work I'm on the desktop and it's not detecting my ram still
And now I can only use 8gb of ram
It's the black and white bios I have before it was the black and red
Should I flash back and how do I do it
Hi
I'm looking to buy a laptop but need help choosing one
So, my budget is max $1,500 but preferably closer to $1,000
I'd prefer 15" but 13" is fine
I'll be using it for basic stuff most of the time since I have a PC which I use for intensive tasks, but I would like a GPU if possible to be able to do 3D modeling and play games when not at home
