im not positive the .exe is going to show when you're navigating since you're selecting a folder to scan, not the game itself, it might look empty but if thats where the app is it should find it

hello, I am hoping someone here can assist me. I just purchased an HP laptop 14-fq0020nr and it is giving me issues with the internet connection constantly dropping. It oftentime cannot even see wireless networks. Then later on the connection randomly comes back. HP and I ran diagnotics and HP says it is not a hardware issue. I actually reinstalled the operating system completely and it seemed to solve the issue for several days. Then it started again. Sometimes I have gotten message saying the network card is not installed properly as well. I have looked for a driver update with no luck. Does anyone here have a clue as to a solution?

Back when I used a laptop, if I kept the lid closed or anything covered a certain part of the laptop, wifi would flat out not work, this might be a possible solution? try making sure nothing is covering the keyboard of the laptop (hands, lid, etc.) and try to see if that helps

If it disconnects when you close the lid that's usually because the hinge is putting pressure on the antennae causing signal issues or it's pulling on the antenna slightly

The antennae usually run across the motherboard, through the hinge, and around the bezel on the screen to get to the top of the screen

My mom's windows laptop decided today that it wasn't going to see our home wifi network, but it does see other networks (not ours). I've done some googling but it just brings up "turn on WiFi" or "update your drivers"
I have the latest drivers for the laptop's wifi card, and wifi is clearly not off because it sees and can connect to other wifi networks, including my own phone hotspot.
I've verified I can connect to our home wifi with my phone and two other laptops.

Might be a good idea to delete the drivers and then restart the system. Once you restart the latest drivers will be installed again.
Otherwise you might want to get a USB wireless network card, or replace tthehr existing network card inside the system.

Finished my first build a couple days ago and just got on, and every app/program I have downloaded, every time I try to open any of them, I get a “procedure entry point WaitCommEvent could not be located in the dynamic link library. C:\windows\systems32\kernel32.dll” error message. I also ran a scan in system32 through command print, which says I had corrupt files and it has repaired them, if that means anything. Any ideas of what’s wrong and what to do?

I found something
Many if not most VendorCo USB drives are not accurate. They list a large capacity and fool Windows 10 into thinking it is the correct size but it is a scam by the manufacturer. If you run a USB test you will find the actual size much smaller. I have many 128 Gb drives that are 28gb, 64Gb drives are 16Gb, 256Gb is 24Gb. They are made in China and cause lots of errors when storing data. Somehow they use the same sectors many times to accomplish the listed size. Stay far away from these

check some of the encoder and output settings. for nvidia gpus you should have encoder on nvenc h.264(new) not x264. bitrate 6000 if you on 1080p60. you can also try setting keyframe interval to 2 and cpu usage to veryfast

if you want to block everything at a more root level including ms telemetry stuff, I set up pihole on an extra raspberry pi to do that at a dns level on my entire network, but you could do something similar via your hosts file for just your pc. pihole is nice cuz you can disable it temporarily very easily when you run into a site depending on something though.

WHy do you need it? I've been building and working on computers for over 20 years and never needed anything like that. If you stay away from spoop in the first place, it's literally not needed. Install Windows Media Creation Tool onto a clean 16GB or more USB drive, build your PC, keep only the drive you want as the boot drive in the PC (you can add your other drives after Windows is installed), go into BIOS, set the USB drive with Windows Media Creation Tool on it as the first priority drive to boot into, and then you'll go from there following the instructions to choose the drive you want to install Windows on and finalize installation.
You can find cheap Win10 Keys on eBay, Etsy and other sites. Can't link them per Newegg's rules, but find someone who is reputable and legitimate if you want to activate Windows. You don't need to activate Windows to use your PC. It's mostly for customization/personalization reasons.
Youtube has plenty of tutorials to help you. JayzTwoCents has a video showing how to do Windows install.

Hello hopefully someone can help me, I’m still new to PC. Does Anyone know how to change a drive from primary partition to just a normal data storage? I have an Ssd as a boot drive and a primary partition. I’ve deleted the m.2 volume already but stays as primary. Or is it normal for the m.2 to be a primary partition by default?
Second thing: when I boot up my PC is shows mothboard logo then goes to windows logo with spinning circle, it’s never done that before until yesterday, I’ve tried changing the boot option to the Ssd that has the OS already.

Primary is just a type of partition, every disk should have at least one primary partition

i did not since it wasnt able to boot at all, it would blue screen. i ended up formating my other drives and bought a brand new ssd and installed the os there. before i tried to install it into the m.2 but gave me an error thats where i just got new ssd

Unplug the old drive and see if you still have problems, your boot loader might have gotten mixed up. If so that's not an easy fix, but it's fixable.

i did that at first an no issues until i plugged the m.2 back in, but just went into bios to change boot priority to ssd. hopefully it does not get it mixed up

If you run the command line tool diskpart you can clean the M.2 and basically make it like new
That'll erase the old boot manager too so the bios doesn't get confused

That's browser cache you're thinking of. There's nothing wrong with the memory besides it being far too slow. That's the most likely cause of your stuttering.

I have an issue that I can’t seem to solve or anyone I’ve asked. So i have an Ssd that had OS and it no longer boots up, it gives me the repair the computer option, but I didn’t know what to do. So I I unplugged all my drives connect except the Ssd. I booted from a USB to reinstall windows 10 I deleted the system files and formatted the Ssd since it had two partitions. Once I did that, it gave me a error where I cannot install windows into this partition. Even after a format and deleted the system files. I clicked the error and it says where I have to initialize(or something like that) the Ssd in bio menus. Which I had no clue and that’s where I gave up.

The best fix I've seen for that is to delete the old system partition in addition to the UEFI and recovery partitions, then in the installer tell it to install to the blank space. Sometimes it errors if you try to create the partition first.
