@strong surge sorry to ping you, but i reinstalled the windows creation tool on the USB and deleted anything else on it that could have interfered too. I tried to boot into the USB drive and it got stuck on the motherboard splash screen again but it looked like it was trying to boot it stopped half way

Boot Devices

Make SURE the usb is listed as UEFI

and boot from it there directly

if it's NOT UEFI, something went wrong with the creation tool

Windows crashes everytime I run a full system scan in Windows Security, but is perfectly fine every other time under any other load.

It simply restarts, posts, and boots back into Windows.

No power shutdown then startup. No BSOD.

Quickscan is perfectly

Did another full scan and crashed again near 80-85% completion

When doing full scan temps do spike to 82°c on CPU then gradually goes down to 76°c

This time the crash put me into the BIOS

CPU is 100% utilization constantly, while disk goes 100% momentarily, then 50, then 30%, then 24-26%

RAM utilization never goes over 17%

This NVME has been through a few Windows installations and not even a year old. Worked perfectly until now

The drive is underneath a piece of metal with a thermal pad. Could be there's no good contact. I did change motherboards and both had different thermalpads. Good idea

RAM utilization has been a maximum of 21% over 3GB. The prediction before the crash is as obvious as before. CPU usage and drive usage both drop off simultaneously and hit almost nothing at the same time then it crashes.

Dell prebuilts like the 5680 are possible to upgrade. No guarantees as it might still be proprietary in some way. Mounting holes, IO, PCIE slot might not line up. You need to reinstall Windows with a motherboard change for the best experience. A lot of old drivers and chipset software that are now incompatible/cause the system to behave dysfunctionally.

How much ram do you have? If it's 8 it's just a single stick.

Look up your motherboard online and download those drivers into a flash drive. Put it into your broken pc and once you moved/extracted the files onto your desktop, install them.

Sometimes installing them to your pc from your flash drive won't work. Not for all, but some, same for chipset updates in my experience.

Like it will behave as if it is, but you check and it's done nothing.
