Just followed this guide to change the "user" folder into my win acc name (since the pc was named "user" and so did the folder), now when I access my main account I get a message saying it's "unaccessible" (even if I'm able to log in) and basically everything is back to default (desktop, personalization, othe stuff) but I can see my files and apps are still there
How do I get beck to my "normal" account? Should I follow the guide backwards and undo everything? I don't really wanna to mess up more things

I mean I've been trying to install MacOS Ventura on my Windows 11 PC with an AMD CPU and at first I added to add some lines to the vmx file and it worked but once I installed the OS itself, it started bootlooping at the apple logo and since then it doesn't work

I've used vmware and qemu before but tbh i have no idea about macos especially on a version as new as ventura. the only macos vm install i got to work was i think high sierra on qemu on a linux base system but even then there was no hardware acceleration. from what ive seen apple made it very difficult in newer versions since apple silicons release

SSDs get the same partitioning as HDDs, the program will handle it. Just tick the box for SSD.

Yeah that's what I'm seeing too, and that would indicate a hard crash on the gpu. Since it's not triggering a blue screen that means it's not software or driver related probably.

my afterburner has been reset so if thats what you mean then yes

i dont overclock or anything anyway

What you can try doing is a slight underclock of the GPU core and memory, maybe -30 core and -50 memory

If the problem stops you know for sure it's the gpu

And then you can get it replaced

Recently my friend upgraded from Intel to amd for cpu, we kept the same install of windows, and his internet on just his computer has been completely trash, sometimes being perfect then being 0 Mbps. Sometimes the USB installer needs to be rebuilt. Also make sure you have CSM disabled in bios, and secure boot off or in setup mode.

Everytime my PC boots i get a blue screen after like 3 seconds, I restart amd try to get into safe mode, but I don't have enough time to do anything before i get another blue screen.
So I tried to reset the PC in a menu I got after a specific bleuscreen (with options for recovery(I don't know after Wich specific bluescreen), but then bluescreen, I tried to troubleshoot, bleuscreen. I tried anything, bluescreen.
I tired every option 20 times, but I got a bluescreen 20 times.
I got a many different bluescreens, mostly: "memory management", something like "irql net less or equal", something with kernel and more.
What am I supposed to do

That service is related to Intel's driver updater. You can uninstall the updater to fix that, Intel drivers usually don't need to be kept updated anyway.

If you only formatted it then you didn't erase the boot and recovery partitions. Boot into a live Linux environment like Ubuntu from a USB and run gparted. Use that to delete all the partitions. Then you can run the installer.

in this image it is empty but it should show up like a hundred tasks

you find your keyb rgb program task and double click it, on the right you click on properties, a window will pop up and on the bottom there will be the options you may need including "Run with the highest privileges", check that so it wont show the message at startup

The only thing I dont know is the name of your task but it's probably something like "Redragon keyb..."

That's just a program mishandling memory, it's not critical

I'd expect it to mishandle memory if you do a force close on a game, there's a lot that it has to flush in a very short time

Can anyone help me find some more possible solutions for screen freezing on my Dell pc?
I've got a dell venue 11 pro 7140, nice tablet but lately the screen is starting to freeze randomly and I necessarily have to force it to turn off to be able to use it again
Just freezes. The last frame it was showing and it stays like that forever. However it looks like it responds to keyboard commands (I tried alt+f4 + ↓ and pressed enter and the system did reboot).
I've saw many people with this same problem and everyone said either intel rapid storage techn. or panel self refresh (intel hd graphics) was the problem, tried both but nothing...
I updated the bios... Nothing...
I'm trying to update most drivers but since it freezes I can't do much (+ slow connection doesn't help for the download)... What else should I try? Bios settings: there's nothing that helps with the screen. Firmware? Idk... Slowly update all drivers?
I'm also thinking abt reinstalling windows but that would be the last solution I'd like to get to

Hi i'm trying to install windows 10 on a build I just completed for a friend
i have the installation media on a usb, it's formatted correctly and everything
In the bios i select the usb to boot off of
when I reboot the pc off of the usb it just freezes on a black screen and no matter how long I wait nothing happens,
im trying to just get this done for my friend, but the internet is no help and i'm stuck
any ideas on what the problem is?
when i go into disk management, it says the health of the usb is still good so im unsure if I need to go buy another usb for installation

i literally have no clue what to do I have tried downloading through rufus, taking the pc apart and i just dont know

is it possible i have a bad part

So you've tried both rufus and the official media creation tool?
Sometimes it doesn't work right the first time and you need to recreate the USB a few times for it to work.

Yah so i tried recreating it a couple times, tried uefi and legacy but i ended up getting super agitated, i threw in an old cpu and mobo I had and i think theres a problem with the mobo

I was originally attempting to do the install on a asrock taichi b550 and thats where i was having the problem

I installed the old cpu and mobo from an older build i had that i know worked perfectly fine, and I installed windows on the m.2 perfectly fine and got everything working

so now my question is, is there a problem with the mobo
i know its not the cpu because i had to send the old one back and this is the 2nd time i got it, its a ryzen 7 5700x, so I can't see that being the issue

im able to boot into bios and everything perfectly fine on the asrock which is why im confused on why the mobo would be broken

@vestal ibex just to let you know, I solved the freezing problem on my Dell surface. A fresh windows install solved everything. I of course had to reinstall most things including drivers and I've encountered a crash only when I installed realtek is2 audio drivers... Maybe that was the problem? I probably wouldn't have found it anyways... (Now I'm using some random realtek drivers provided by intel website) and no problems at all except for audio jack not working

Windows is updated, I know newer ones have so small problems but I figured out transparency effect caused these problems (disabled it for now)

Btw it's only the search bar that does this and it's like every 10-20 seconds and it glitches

Also... How many errors are considered "normal" in windows problem reporting? I got many of them that are like
Realtek audio service stopped working, wmiw failed, windows shell experience host stopped working... (And some hardware errors, probably caused by the glitching/artifacts on the searchbar that froze the pc), + 26 store agent download failure errors (all on the same day and same hour/minute)

Some of the hardware errors may be from the undervolt I was doing the other day

The "normal" amount varies widely but it will never be zero.
Realtek is flaky AF, don't worry on that it's their drivers.
WMIW is an installer module, probably related to the Windows store errors. Windows corrects these automatically or through updates.

I'll bet it was. OEM devices like that are tricky at best.

All it takes is one subystem ID being different that the driver is expecting and BAM install failed

I've had to "mod" drivers before to get them to work by adding the sub ID to the list. Worked perfect after that. Didn't help that the drivers weren't updated since Windows 7.

If you mean the performance plan then yes in theory. High performance mode lets the processor sleep less so it'll use more power at idle.

My computer keeps crashing on me randomly. It is giving me an event ID 41 Kernel-power. How do I go about fixing this?

All that event means is "unexpected power loss" and can be caused by any number of things. Do you get a blue screen or does it just shut off? What is happening when the problem occurs?

That just means a quick, light test didn't find anything. Next thing you'll want to run is testmem5 with the anta777 extreme profile loaded. That should take 3-4 hours depending on memory speed and capacity.

I've been very busy with school and haven't had time to fix this. It first started off when I downloaded Windows 11. My computer would randomly stuttered which caused everything including the audio to stutter. I reset the BIOS on one of my PCs when troubleshooting something recently. I left the PC on overnight. Last night Microsoft auto updated the OS to Windows 11 without my permission. I thought you had to accept the upgrade. WTF Microsoft? I was able to roll it back and disabled the TPM on the CPU though the BIOS so it won't happen again.

I guess Microsoft doesn't require you to accept the Windows 11 "upgrade" now and just forces it.

I am trying to fresh install snow lion or lion on 3 unibody MacBooks bc the dude didn’t bother actually reinstalling the system fresh, and I have snow lion on a bootable flash I created using transmac

And I’m trynna use one laptop to install it macos on all 3 of the hard drives bc it’s complete-ish, but I can’t do the reinstall os options in the disk utilities bc it prompts me an Apple ID even tho there’s no Apple ID associated with the laptops, and I try bootin from the USB, but my usb does not show up in the boot menu when holding alt, but the usb is set up right and it’s a regular 2.0 usb one

I cleared the vram or whatever ram or cache it’s called, doesn’t do that, and what I did was cleared the drive on one, and tried installing that way, but the MacBook doesn’t respond to any commands and just goes to a folder flash

The only thing the MacBook with a blank drive does is show the mouse cursor n I can move it around but that’s it

The thing with the Apple ID is they need to disassociate the Macbook from the "Find My" feature, then the Macbook needs to be connected to the Internet again to unlock.

If they can't/won't do that it's probably stolen

It will not allow you to do anything on that laptop until it's unlocked, even if you erase and copy a new OS to the drive.

Speaking of copying an OS, that's probably what you can do with the one with a blank drive. Clone the OS off a working device using clonezilla.

did yo ever get it? I mentioned in the other chat that in most cases to do a reinstall you need to use macOS recovery mode via cmd + r on boot. I forget what the problem was but macs don't always accept usb installs nicely. you can boot from usb but installers is another thing. try using a different image flash tool as some do not work well with macs. I know it was especially a problem on iphones, not sure if it was also with macs, but often if it was still linked to an apple id and stolen there is little that can be done to unlock

Sometimes you need to update in steps instead of skipping to the latest update because of file system changes and things like that

The highest I'd probably go on that macbook is 10.12 Sierra. The early version of APFS in High Sierra 10.13 kinda sucks so HFS+ is better in a lot of ways.

I am having an issue with one of my laptops it has an HDD drive. In task manager the Disk usage is at 100% even though none of the processes below would indicate that. I got a Intel ax200 wifi6 wlan card and like a few months ago it it giving me a TON of problems, mostly in the last two months but last year it was giving me some problems too, what are these problems? → doesn't connect automatically to my WiFi when I start up my pc, sometimes it doesn't find any network around me, when I'm able to connect it takes about 2 minutes to establish the connection wit the router, and last, download speed (upload a bit less) are affected, I'm getting like 0.2mbps sometimes.

It would technically work as far as I can tell but it would be SUPER easy to bypass. If you need to secure a folder I recommend Truecrypt instead. Version 7.1a because the latest won't let you make a new encrypted folder.

I have to do some crazy stuff on a dell thin client, I basically want a os installed on a usb and a windows to go version I'll run on the pc, inside of the to go os I'll have macrium reflect to clone the data from the usb to the internal storage of the pc. You need to format the drive and make sure that the primary/secondary master/slave jumper is set correctly. You'll also need to set the drive configuration in BIOS. It might be able to auto detect but not always.

You can format it using a DOS boot floppy. The 98 installer can technically do it but it's not great. What file system depends on the size of the drive, general rule under 1GB FAT, over FAT32.

Oh, you also might want to make sure your 98 boot image is for the installer. I have an image you can use if you need it.

I have no idea on how to do this as my modem/router isp website is 💩 and it's basically impossible to do port forwarding or even setting a static IP for my modem.
Questions:
-is there any way to do the port forwarding configuration only using windows cmd? I've tried third part software but none of that supports my router/modem model (Huawei)...?
-does the actual p.f. need to be done on the modem that the host pc is connected to? Or is it also done on a secondary router connected to the main one?
-^asking that because I wonder if I attach a cheap router to my main one and be able to configure the p.f. through the website of the second router...?
-last question is there any way to connect a modem/router to my other (main) home modem router? I've tried that because I want it to be just a router and nothing else but it doesn't seem to work..., I get wlan connection but no internet. Maybe needs some configuration somehow?

1. If you can SSH into the router there's some commands you can run
2. Port forwarding needs to be done on the router because it's the router that accepts, rejects, and routes the packets where they need to be.
   2a. A double NAT setup with two routers will only make things worse, static address servers HATE that
3. I'd suggest using that second modem/router in place of your ISP one if possible. It can be done where you disable the routing function of the ISP unit and it becomes a dedicated modem but not all units support this and that still requires a lot of configuration.

Yep. It's one of the few softwares that lets you do a nearly unlimited clone on the trial. Most of the other programs will enforce a stupid limit like 100GB drives or less.

If it's a high enough resolution image for your monitor that'll adjust it correctly

@vestal ibex trying to set up port forwarding on my router and as i already told you it really difficult, because it gives me various options like service: aim talk, bear share, bit torrent, eMule, nntp server, telnet server, vnc (I listed the ones that I'm more likely going to use) but have no idea which one to choose. It then asks for a device, and I guess I'll need to select my host pc..?

Yes, you select the service that uses the ports you need to forward and then tell it where to send the packets that use those ports

Looks like you need port 25565 inbound/outbound tcp/udp

MySQL uses that port if Minecraft server isn't an option

Right now I was able to get my old modem/router to work as a router only, just had to find the setting that allowed me to use it as one. That's a good thing for me, I'll see if I can do something from that one... Not sure since you told me a dual router config is bad... I'll try anyways else I can't do basically anything with my main isp modem

The only way a double NAT works for a server is if you forward literally everything to the second router or use a DMZ feature to expose the second router to the internet directly

I tried a bunch of things with my second modem, I was only able to connect it as a second router to my main one but nothing else. If I hook it up to my dsl cable and select the right isp it just doesn't detect anything and can't connect to the internet, I'll see if I'm able to get support from my isp and ask them to allow the connection for a 3rd party modem (i know it is possible as I've seen a bunch of videos of people doing that)
And if I'm able to do all of this I could also try using my (actual) main modem as a 2nd router when I switch the two

Or I could ask to simply open the port...? If it is possible.
Because apparently it doesn't work they way I tried it

It's super rare for an ISP to block ports and when they do it's ports commonly used by things like torrents.
