I do have a question regarding that. I have an iPhone 4 or 5, and an old iPod that used to be my sisters. She used different Apple IDs because her other dad set them up. She gave them to me to try to tinker with if I wanted them. I used iTunes on a computer to reset them to default. But they’re still locked because of Find My device and would still need that old Apple ID password. Basically, to Apple, I stole them. But is there any way to make them functional again? Jailbreaking? DNS bypass for the authentication? Dm me if it requires stuff that shouldn’t be promoted lol

If that's a device level lock, like it was asking for password before the OS, you're SOL.
It needs to be removed from the original owner's account or else it'll lock the instant it connects to the Internet and checks the IMEI on Apple's server.

It's an anti theft feature.
As a young tech back in ~2012, I ran into this. Someone bought a MacBook off Craigslist, the guy showed it to them unlocked, then they brought it home and connected to the Internet and it locked.
So they asked the company I worked for at the time to unlock it. It fell to me.
I immediately gave the IMEI number to the police and it turned out to be stolen from San Francisco.

i assume you mean the macbook pro 13" since its the cheapest. depending on the kinds of video youre doing like resolution as well as any vfx or anything crazy, should hold up fine.

if youre doing more though and youd want to take advantage of the m1 chip, could go for the 14" and try to see if you can save up for the upgrade to get the m1 max chip but thats up to you and again, depending on what kind of video editing youre doing

1 also generates table of contents (PDFCombo),
