never seen any spikes from my 3090 get reported
could just be dell power reporting being sus
When you have the polling rate at the minimum it can, but not the full spike
ah
Id probs go p14 pst pwm (co is a better version but may be more spendy), but I'm not super knowledge on the best ones for aio stuff, altho the p14 are great, just make sure they're pwm
P14 would be excellent price for performance. Very quiet and great pressure.
There's some premium fans like noctuas that will be quieter but they're more than triple price.
and also sadly brown
They have black now
EH!?
They're even working on white and RGB
Man, if they had that as their original product line they'd have a monopoly on the fan market
what in the world took them so long?
is it their marketing strategy to have a unique fan default color?
Their excuse is mostly engineering reasons
Because I can definitely see it worked
That sounds super interesting. like what?
Also that price is rough
Their whole brand is function over form. You see those brown fans and EVERYONE knows what you have.
Yeah you have $300 worth of fans
jokes aside they work great
Damn, it was big brain all along
Can someone send me a link for a prebuilt around 1000 with good gaming specs?
no
Noctua, the only company where working on a white colour is such a huge deal

I mean I get it, white yellows over time, but also, how many years now? Lol
idk
They've even delayed the white colour lol
They have to get the white just right so it still looks brown
We call it "Brown lite"
Who got a cheap build list set up?
how cheap @unborn mesa
Very
Am gonna end up removing gpu and throwing in a 5700g cpu
Oh yes perferable amd mobo
gimme a price
Are you gonna put one together?
I might already have a list
Just need sum to setup as a nas
Since i dont wanna spend another 300 on storage for each pc i have
But lets say 400-600usd
ooo a nas you say
i think x99 will be your friend
so you wont need much cpu or gpu performance? just plenty of connectivity/bandwidth?
I have a 5700g in a pc that i would swap into nas mobo so cpu is bought but i need to buy another am4 cpu
oh you already have parts
Just the cpu
hmm im not sure of which am4 board would be best for your specific use, i dont do much am4 stuff
Also preferably some small build
@leaden mauve https://pcpartpicker.com/list/n9xn8r i put this together with some forums i found on budget nas systems
PC Builder - AMD Athlon 3000G (14nm)
Please don't spend $100 on a 3000g
What are you trying to do?
Nas
Rather spend 100 than to spend 300 to replace a 5700g to use in a nas
Case is not there
Why would you put a 5700g in a Nas?
Because only cpu that i have with igpu
Okay but why would you put a 3000g in it first then?
You can buy one used
For like $40
I got some used ram didnt work
Pc posted with 2 of the 4 sticks but couldnt install windows because of them
Like i said on the original message i used some forums for budget nas
No
5700g is in a pc build rn i dont wanna take it out to build a nas and have to buy another cpu to replace it
Im not making sense am i
Uh why not leave the 5700g in current pc and just leave the nas the way it is and get like an i3 10100
Should be plenty
Dont have a nas im building one from nothing
Yes ik
I picked 3000 g for nas right
So i wouldnt go and have to get something equal to a 5700g for nothing if that makes sense
No it doesn't
Basically what you said
I wanted to leave the 5700g in the pc
So i picked something lower for the nas
Just do this instead and then you don't have to replace the 5700g
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T4CfFg
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10100, Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
But no point going ryzen
Oh sorry forgot hdd
Oh thats just cuz i had the mobo picked out but ill change it idc
Can you change psu to an evga full modular
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10100, Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower
No point
Semi and fully modular are identical in practice
Just preferred
Only thing that semi has installed are 24 pin and cpu power
So basically the same, plus a lot cheaper
And it's a decent psu too
No i meant the evga part
Like i said just preference
?
Evga GA is a bit better but it really doesn't matter for a Nas
And 650w psu will also be pretty inefficient in a nas tbh with you
If that's what you where concerned about
I changed it to a 400
Mm yes 3000g instead of 10100
And paying more for it
Amd best
Did someone mention amd?
Amd best
3000g>12900ks
yes

oddly satisfying
Any recommendations for a build for a budget of $1500 I want to play gta online, streaming, and trading
Do you want to build yourself or pre built
And what country?
Aaah
Stoppp

What’s a good gaming keyboard ?
On Amazon
I want red switches I heard therrr the best for gaming
Might be good to ask in #peripherals-and-displays ,and include a budget
I like my keychron k4, though it doesn't have rgb and is browns
Forgot there's one
Are red switches the best for apex legends
Switches are more so about noise
And preference
I’ve used red and blues for gaming and I like both
But I think reds are better
I don’t want noise I had Logitech gl clicky I hated it
On the 810 keyboard
I read that the red switches don’t make noise and also you don’t know when you’re pressing them down so I guess you had to get use to them
Moving over to #peripherals-and-displays if you’d like to continue
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3hD6qm Trying for full back bout build that has high end specs, for a reasonable price 👍
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower
I would not buy most of this
^
Especially if you're gaming
cpu choice and case choice is poor
actually everything about this seems to be unoptimal
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Wnn3mr Any better>
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower
?
I like the case alot :./
Anyting thats better for the price? @mossy venture
…that cooler won’t handle that cpu at all
Yeah that CPU cooler is not beefy enough
What's the budget and what are you using the pc for
Gaming, $1300
@mossy venture ^
Alright, I'll make you a list
Needs to be full blackout
And are you dead set on the h510 flow?
Ye
K then, but just so you know
It's a mediocre case
It's not worth the $90
But if you want it, so be it
As long as it isn't the elite or regular
if theres a more clean one that is better than so be it
Too bad nzxt makes crap ones
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower
The 12400f the best for the money?
Yes, 6 cores 12 threads and compares to the 5600X. Slightly beats it in a lot of things. The jump to the 12600k would be the next "worth it" step up but then you'll want better cooling, memory, and motherboard to go with it.
Damn alright
While nzxt cases look pretty. The h510 and h710 have terrible temps
The flow version has acceptable temps
Are pigtail cables for gpu fine or should I switch it out for 3 individual cables?
It’s a 3x8 pin
Ideally individual cables but it will probably survive pigtails
Yeah, just bleh for $90 when p360a and 4000d airflow exist
What power supply is it?
16 gauge cables, should be fine with a pigtail
Not really, as long as it's labeled for the correct cable type you're good
I agree 100%, but if they're set on the flow version because aesthetics I'm not gonna try to dissuade then the way I would for the other fireboxes
Just to make sure I’m not messing this up, the bottom right would be fine if I used one pigtail and one straight cable?
Should be fine yeah
Still fine
Corsair sells different cables if you don't like the look of the unused pigtail connector
I have cable extensions
That shouldn’t affect performance, right?
Sorry I’m asking so many questions, I’ve made too many mistakes and I really want to make sure it doesn’t happen again
Probably not but if you get instability try without extensions before other troubleshooting
Sweet. Thank you for you help!
No problem
I’m upgrading gpu and cpu today so I’ll probably be back with more questions
Edit: if using extensions, probably smart to use 3 full cables. You do have 4 from the psu anyways. Well, 4 ports at least.
Thanks
I need to buy new cables then
Newbee here, what piece of equipment is need to get all the fans to run on a rig?
fan splitters or hub

Well Id try the extensions 1st & run a few benchmarks or stress test. Could be fine. Just know not having 3 full cables might technically limit the actual power limit, but an undervolt isn't a bad idea either which would counter that. 30 series get generous stock voltage
does the fan splitter connect directly into the motherboard?
Ye
Does the rtx 3060 founders edition have argb in it?
3060 fe isnt a thing
assuming you meant 3060ti, no
the founders cards all have white leds for the logo, not rgb
but yes, the 3060 and 3050 founders editions do not exist
Gpu + cpu with graphics embed =even better graphics or?
Like basically asking rx570+ 5600G mean op graphic ?
no
you cant use both in most cases, certain productivity programs could use the igpu for a lil boost in workload things
no
Sad
it means 3600 cpu perf with rx 570 perf
Hm.
I imagine a whack world if that existed
where we have 5600G
but also 5600GG
and GGGG

XD
so hot msi wouldn't put a ventus on it
Sad
not like igpus are that powerful anyway
in fact they are very basic video troubleshooter solutions
Meh there's more than just that
Using them for encode/decode can be quite nice in some situations
should i get the 4000d airflow or the Phanteks Eclipse G360A case
i would get 3080 instead
g360a better stock cause it has more fans preinstalled
but otherwise, nah. not much difference
ok
if you add fans to the 4000d it's gonna be as good
i dont plan to buy fans
then the g360a it is
Do you plan to overclock the cpu
No
No point in a z690 or 12700k then
12700f and b660 would make more sense
Cheaper and will perform the exact same
I'd also do the 3080 12gb for $800 instead of that 3080 ti, 3080 tis perform maybe 3% better
Not worth $200
Psu, I'd get g6 850, same quality and $105
Rest seems fine, since I'm assuming you want rgb
And chose the parts you did for their looks
For exact mobo model, b660 mag bazooka is great if you're fine with the way it looks
This is also good, if you like the look of it https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GvmmP6/msi-pro-z690-a-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z690-a-ddr4
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
If you don't oc you can go down to b660
And 12700F
Imma just make another list for the sake of it
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
As for gpu, bacca does have a good recommendation
🤔
I just like the msi trio gaming z cause it's one of the best 3080
So are they solid parts for shooter games, gta/fivem and running 2 monitors? This would be my first build
Yes
EVGA G6 is the best A tier psu, at least among a few others
And it's cheaper than RMx rn so
🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻 thank you
hola, my friend is a streamer and his budget is around $1,500, light gaming and he looking to buy a prebuilt since he doesn't like to build it himself even tho I told him building himself is cheaper..
Well you tried to give good advice like a good friend should. I'll find one. US?
I dont know much about prebuilt I know a little for building urself since its cheaper I guess lol
and I told him that and he disagrees
is he fine with open box?
us yup
what that mean
returned but it wasnt really used
Right now 1500 could build you a 6900 XT but you'll probably be stuck at 3070 for prebuilt
no brand new
just light gaming he doesn't really play games that much
A prebuilt that comes with standard components can be okay-ish
Gives em options going forward at least
I told him, to not go to best buy and buy one
instead maybe go to mirco center or something
Yeah, they could get it built by MC
but he also disagree
Oh are you close to microcenter? They have good systems
hes not
Ah oh well
What about if you build it for him?
Or does he want the warranty support?
he lives 5 state over smh hes just an online friend
Ah gotcha
Proxy builds aren't good. Get that friend on here.
well hes streaming rn soooo kinda an error plus idk if I could get him in here he said he just going to go to best buy or something and buy the top of the line tbh lol
GN liked Maingear fwiw: https://maingear.com/product/vybe-rtx-3060-ti/
🤷♂️
I hadn't looked at ABS yet, looks good
The front panels on these things though 🔥
pretty sure thats a w1
but i could be wrong
it has bottom intakes
its not a great case, but its more than fine for a 3060 ti and 12400f
Certainly helps
allow to stream?
and yeah it doesn't have the hottest components
yes
lol what is this Newegg power bar
Never heard of the SI that made it but there's this
https://www.newegg.com/velztorm-fultix/p/3D5-000W-0STD6
pls no
I take it you've heard of them
Any specific reason? Or just the usual SI problems?
usual low end pre built issues
bad mobo, psu
also id go with a 3060 ti to get the much better cpu
especially for 1080p
ok I will tell him thx, but hes prob not going to accept it and buy it on bestbuy but worth a shot
please atleast make sure he doesnt buy skytech or ibuypower
Why BB?
bb?
Best Buy
prob cuz its the closest tech store he knows lol
Well if he goes that route make sure he knows geek squad is a scam and don't get the "protection plan"
true
oh and Im planing to upgrade my pc too, budget $1k worth in upgrades any ideas?
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P300 ATX Mid Tower
can put a 5700x on that mobo
I was thinking maybe memory
What about this for a BB prebuilt for @shut rampart's friend?
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-xtreme-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i5-12600kf-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-1tb-ssd-white/6502219.p?skuId=6502219
I have like 500 mb left plus an hard drive
an ssd is very important
1t hard drive ready to go
5700X, SSD, and a gpu would easily fit in budget
im using a suck cooler
boot times, load times
maybe an m.2?
im putting one in
what heatsink for 5700x do you think?
what about the case?
case is fine
really not good airflow
SE224 is fine it's a low power CPU
oh thats not the mesh version
if im getting an 5700x I need a cpu cooler rn im using stock
yup
Cyberpower is kinda awful
and someone said before maybe new monitor
since im really not using my gpu that well
or something
I figured. Best specs for around 1500 at BB from the looks of it though
monitor is fine
If it must be BB are there better options?
Trying to get IcyBlue a build to have in their back pocked in case their friend insists BB or bust
do you know how the rosewill photon is?
it must be its fine, I told him forg built but like i said hes just going to go to best buy and buy one
I'm just thinking if they have to choose from what BB has they may as well choose the best option
750+ is B tier
There's also this, but it's more expensive
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-vengeance-a7200-series-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-5600x-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-1-tb-ssd-black/6486475.p?skuId=6486475
the 550?
so whats the priority right now for my build
That Corsair one at least says the max psu wattage XD
Wait no that one is super weird
750 and less is B tier, 850-1000 is C, and 1350 is B
ok I will tell him that too thx
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DQRpmr if you can go a bit over budget, i would do this
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
whyd that go twice
So nice it sent twice?
well bad news...
also
how
idk
how the actual hell did you manage that
I tried to talk to them but they insta ban me when i made a new account
Lots of returns?
prob
I did return like 10+ items
so which one first @mossy venture ?
give me a minute
im changing parts to have other site alternatives
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
wait
messed gpu up
it still show amazon for me
I've seen addresses get blacklisted on Amazon but never an outright ban
if you click on it they have other alternatives
yha I think my address got blacklist or something
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
cuz me and my mom share address and prob my mom did something bad and got his blacklisted
sounds like you did something shady trying to use a fake card on multiple accounts
but thats just me
Lots of returns can get ya a ban
It's a thing
Amazon won't give a set percentage or anything so it's kinda vague
As a former driver I got 2 addresses blacklisted. One the resident pulled a gun on me before he knew who I was and the other sent his dog after me.
??
wtf
aight im out
so its not blacklisted it just returns lol
They thought I was stealing the packages or something and didn't notice my Amazon hat and hi vis vest
for the cpu cooler do i need to buy the fans?
which one am I buying first @mossy venture ?
it's clearly just an elaborate disguise
im guessing case first then ssd then cpu then cpu cooler then gpu and reset is reset
well my pc is already build just swapping out parts for better ones
If you're just swapping in new parts you don't have to wait for it all to arrive
Maybe try to do the CPU/case/cooler all together though
GPU/PSU are good to get at the same time too
well definitely waiting for the cpu cooler before installing the cpu
cuz that will be overheated if im just using a stock am I right?
Nah it'll work with stock, just not boost as high
oh ok
oh did i had to tell you that it wasn't primary for gaming
it was for streaming sooooo
idk if that mess it up
My main thought with getting case/CPU/cooler around the same time is then you don't have to buy more paste
or is it still good?
Ah yeah, so probably do it in two batches.
what happens when you over power ur psu aka use too much power then ur psu can push out
will it not run?
Assuming a good model it should just shut down
if it a bad it will burn?
As in it's just for running the stream or for streaming while gaming?
yes
Yes to which?
running the stream while gaming
Ok so the game is running on this PC while streaming, that changes nothing. It just means you should lean towards Nvidia over AMD for the better encoder.
I7 870
Oh ya depending on your 960 you have you'd most likely need to play on normal settings
If you want to play higher you would need something more like a 1650 super
Ya it is ok
like is this pc worth 250$ aud 2nd hand
Do you know if the 960 is 2gb or 4gb?
the pic says cuda cores: 1024 graphics clock: 1190Mhz
dedicated video memory: 2048MB GDDR5
is it that?
I liked my 1650 super
1650 Super performance is like a 4gb 1060
Same how a 1660 Super/Ti is like a 6gb 1070
4GB 1060 doesn’t exist
No
Doesn't the 5gb have no display out
According to the techpowerup database it had display outs. I think it was made for the Chinese market iirc
Yeah, they indicate it was exclusive to China
it's same as normal 1060
just weird vram config
the one without display output is g104-100
Seems legit
It's also GTX, not RTX

im having trouble with my audio drivers
and the 8gb 1060 that almost was https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1060-8-gb-gddr5x.c3455
rip
Oh wow I never heard of that one. Could a 1060 even utilize all that?
not effectively
just having the wider bus might help in some things though
it's pretty clearly just a 1080 with a defective core
dunno why they changed their mind
does installing linux several times on an SSD impact the SSD's lifespan significantly?
nope
not at all
you need to be doing it like a million of times or something for it to have any effect at all
i see
should make a distro
"The SSD killer"
with a 500 PB install size
installs nothing but junk
No
💪
while true; do
filename="$(mktemp ~/.ripssd.XXXXXXXXXX)"
dd if=/dev/urandom of=$filename bs=1GB count=16
shred -u $filename
done
There are easier ways to kill an SSD
What's this do exactly? Make a load of 1gb files?
dd = data duplicator
Or disk destroyer depending on who you ask
is this like Javascript?
No Linux shell script
oh ok
Ahh so dd is just copy
Basically, and /dev/random just spits out a pseudo-random set of data infinitely
Interesting I don't quite understand the syntax if=/ tho
if != or
You do know when people say "is like" doesn't mean exactly like what you'd think because a 1650 Super is 4gb and is pretty much on par with the 6gb 1060 in performances.
i just upgraded my cpu, gpu, and ram yesterday and the only problem ive had is that the mouse lags around for a second when i open programs and tabs, but only sometimes. Does anyone know what this might be?
bro you just didn’t have to get so angry lmao. could’ve just explained better
wrong chat? nvm i see it
Wait you think that is anger?

ur mom lol
Among us holds the WEGG
amogus ur mom lol
If you swapped motherboards, reinstall windows, if you didn't then no harm doing a ddu
Hahaha wrong chat lol
Same mb but I also haven’t done a ddu
Ever

DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
AMD or Nvidia?
If Nvidia, it will delete the Nvidia Geforce Experience app as well as the Nvidia Control Panel.
if AMD, then idk.
You can just reinstall though so that shouldn't be an issue. At least not one that matters compared to fixing your issue.
Hey guys I’m back again I just wanted to ask what I could get for 15 hundred for a good pc?
Does that include monitor and peripherals?
Also what country
No just the pc and Canada
!ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Prebuilt or DIY btw?
DIY would be preferred
Input File equals /dev/example
Output File equals /dev/destination
You can think of it as Linux treating drives as image files. The /dev files are the various drives on the system. Then there's dynamically created ones like /dev/random and /dev/null that spit out certain data on the fly as needed.
this is what i have for the list, https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/FGzKKp can add a heatsink if you want to
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
id wait for patos one though
Is it good?
objectively, yes, but there could be better
which is why id wait to see what pato says
Honestly just trying stream Minecraft with good speed that’s really about to
if youre streaming might be worth going nvidia gpu instead, but 3070 prices seem not great
the worst model 3070 is $20 more than the 6750xt
best you can do is this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/M2MnyK but
this one is way better value https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/yRXstn
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
i second patos lists
except for psu, id get cxf imo since its cheaper and very similar
eithers fine though
Which one of his links is the best one?
if it were me id get the second one
How’s it better but it costs almost 100$ less?
HCG is a tier
price doesnt equal quality, or performance
its far better value
although technically the first is better
both are overkill for minecraft tho
while the 6750xt has better performance, 3060 ti has better video encoder for streaming (thoughif youre literally only playing mc you dont need a $1500 pc)
not really the encoders are almost identical
Dam alright I’ll look into it o got some other buddies that are also good with this stuff and I’ll come back to y’all if that’s alright?
And I want a good pc either way cause I might play other fps games in the future
And while I have the money at my disposal I might as well yk
Thanks for all the help I appreciate it
pato is smart
i second that
Pato sensei 👍

what?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7y23gb)
if i put all of these part will it work
with wifi, and i able to play game and stream? and boot up to window aswell?
yeah it's for a flip not my personal rig
Can, wouldn't pick that psu tho if you haven't already bought it
You'd also do better picking 12th gen like a 12400F
yes, strongly recommend looking at the i5-12400F instead though, and yeah you could find a better psu for the price
lol
is stronger?
Yea
More single core stonks so a bit better for games
And cheaper with the mobo usually
do a need a usb with window installed?
Yeah you will need to install with a usb
Something more like this list btw
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Or this if you need wifi
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r7NGbK
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
You could also add just about any cheap tower cooler to it if you want it to run cool and quiet, I've left a cooler choice in the second list
doestn the tomahawk wifi max
?
Oh you bought it?
without PCie adapter or wifi card
oh. no
not yet
i scared becasue my first build i dont want to mess up
It comes with a wifi card, the b660m-a pro in the second list I posted has a wifi card too
Follow this list
Different mobos fit different cpus specifically
No
Not worth it
For normal people MP33 is more than sufficient
You can get the 2tb version if you want to for more space, nothing wrong with that
Ye
Also note I changed the ram to 32gb, you really want that much for streaming in the background
ok thanks
Thx
What about the build pics
#build-pics is for pictures of builds, should be self explanatory
this is where you ask for help
please parse the text in those images into a text message here though, nobody wants to read those images
@earnest olive can you help me with math okay so if i habe $1694 bill and i need to pay it off sooner then 6 momths or 6 months how much am i paying weekly
$70.58
can i go 3600 ram
i believe 32gb dual rank 3200c16 tends to perform as well as 16gb single rank 3600c16
also, it'll be easier to run 3200c16 in gear 1 without having any idea what you're doing
which would make 3200c16 actually perform better
a week sheesh i was thinking more like $200 a week would be my bill
@muted carbon lemme minmax your list some more I'll get it closer to the 1435* of your first list
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Np 👍
Again, follow the list I posted @muted carbon , you're gonna get something that is some 20-30% faster for the same price and will do better for streaming cos it's 32gb
ok thanks
but od i ingmore the bio warning
yes
i get the same thing with my 5600x and b500 tomahawk
no point in going from a 5600x to a 12400f
The odds of getting a B550 that's not updated enough to support a 5600X are very low
He hasn't bought either of them
ok thanks

The Intel Core i5-12400 & 12400F CPUs get reviewed in today's benchmarks and comparison vs. the i3-12100, i5-12600K, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, and more. We're looking for the best CPUs in 2022.

Testing the Intel i5-12400 CPU, we found the CPU to be overall compelling value when compared against AMD, but it ...
shhould i spend extra money for 3600?
yea
i saw
that video alr
because alot of ppl tell me to buy 12400f instead
Not worth it trying to get 3600 ram on 12400F
Hard to say if that runs though due to locked system agent voltage
If anything gear 2 which will be slower
Yes but the board will auto it to slower speeds
If it's the same price then that's ok. Usually it costs more
no i meant i tried look up same
uh i think
brand
that you send me 3200
Why do you want 3600 lol
idk
Then you shouldn't worry about it
It doesn't matter
ok
In fact it's so tiny of a difference you can do a blind taste test 100 times and almost never tell
Especially on a 3080 12gb
ok thanks
i go with your setup
hey is there any more case option with more fan
wait
let me check
the p300
We could change back to the p400a if you want, that case is fine tbh
Yeah that one's good too
What changed since the GN secret shopper review?
@muted carbon like I explained, you may actually end up with worse performance from 3600c16 compared to 3200c16
please don't recommend this
it's made to run ddr5... in gear 2
Ok i get 3200 then
no point spending extra to nullify the speed gain by dropping to gear 2
They're doing mail-in rebates on the phanteks rn
will the 12400f bottle neck the 3080?
no
i would get a 1440p monitor if youre getting a 3080
Resolution is set by the physical number of pixels on the panel
Would def consider more than 1080p with a 3080 12gb
I can adjust the list again to fit a 1440p monitor if you can't afford it
You can always use DSR to render in a higher resolution and display in 1080p but it's not really the same
That's basically copium

@muted carbon can you afford a monitor on top of the build?
Only need about $240
You could use your current one as a secondary screen for discord and stuff
no my montior si 300$
but is 240hz only 1080p
very sad
i also brought a second monitor
for 200$
but only 75 hz
Oh I see
3080 will still be overkill for 240hz
You could go down to 3070 or 3060Ti and pocket the extra
Then use it for the next time you upgrade or something
wait
i get 3080
?
becauser
i dont plan to get monitor
anytime soon
i did regret buying the 200$ 75hz monitor
I'm suggesting it because normally at 1080p you wouldn't be using the gpu fully
So it's leaving performance on the table
i want my pc to last long
and have room for future upgrade
so i dont need to upgrade my gpu anytime soon
I mean yeah it works and yeah it'll last but that cost difference is better worth holding onto
And then when you need a proper upgrade, the money you pocketed will be more more fps/$ when you consider it later
Just get a 3070 instead, or a 6750 XT. Either will run max settings 1080p in nearly any game.
ok
3080 is intended for 1440p gaming, any lower and it'll be sitting idle most of the time
Might as well save some money
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Well
What you could do
Is put more cpu side for later
In the same sense as going 3080
It'll give some more life to it but I honestly wouldn't do either
That would be better for 1080p gaming as well, which is more CPU focused
um
i which one of the pc
i can run 6 bluestack
of the same game?
while still be able to watch youtube
and have a smile on my face?
Probably all of them bluestacks isn't that hard
Here's throwing more at the CPU and SSD
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QByfnt
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Sure, that's still 1400 with the 1tb instead
Still roughly where you want to land
Alternatively you could relegate that 1080p 75hz and do something else, one sec...
Could use the extra for a better case then
P400a? Yeah that would be good
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
but igame on 240hz
Maybe this instead
If you go 12700 that would be ideal but you can get an AK620 air cooler instead
Then you can do 1080 high refresh and also 1440 quality gaming
my desk wont have enough space for a 3rd monitor
nah
1080p on a 1440p monitor looks bad bad
the pixels dont divide evenly
No he has a 1080p 240hz
whats the different between the gigabyte 3070 gaming oc and the msi you choose?
Price probably
Both are 3070's
It's a big stretch for me to say it but really go by the cheapest price (bar ventus)
this one you send me
should i choose this one?
i think thats a good build
or the 12400f 3080
can i go fan cooling instead of liquid?
You can do either I just personally think that not using the value of the extra parts is a bit of a waste
1080p 240hz is a bottleneck
Unfortunately
oh
On a 12700(f) I wouldn't use less than a 280mm liquid cooler
i see
Unless you want a really loud like, AK620 or NH D15
AK620 air cooler, it competes with top air coolers and some 240mm liquid coolers
They're not that loud
It's in that territory though
Even a 12600K overclocked can push an AK620
Oh there is that thermosiphon that splave is working on
ak620 is perfectly fine on a 12700f
tbh id be fine with putting one on a 12900f/12900
ye
with a good case that is
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/patriot-viper-vpr400-ssd-review sheesh, this ssd is dramless and pricey af
164 bucks for 1tb
is this 2019?

PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
You can do that list if you want to
hey i edit the build you sent me https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mrWXJM i reduce the ssd and upgrade the case
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
oh
ok
Throw in the TG contact frame and lap the die, then it'll stand a chance
is loud?
no
Ok I can agree on this point
it's not loud
clc is probably louder
unless you limit the fans to 80% lol
or swap them, which is extra cost
CLC won't be pushed hard enough to make it loud tho
You also have the stock fans of the case if that became an issue
Not an issue if you're not using 3.5" hard drives
ok i see
wth, P41 is cheaper than that even not on sale.
hey is there any other cpu cooler choice
the one you sent me
i dont see in newegg
am going with the first build u sent me
Get Amplified with the all-new ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 Series based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture. Built with enhanced RT Cores and Tensor Cores, new streaming multiprocessors, and superfast GDDR6X memory, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity OC LHR gives rise to amplified gaming wit...
is this one similar to thw one u put on the list
Zotac thermal pads are garbage but overall the GPU is just below average
Realize that's only $28 under what the 12GB Strix has been recently. TUF 12GB currently that price, but 1 in stock.
Why does new egg only@let me purchase 1 12400f
has it always been a limit?
Limit's are product dependent
ok
I can purchase 2 12400f's in one order btw
It let me add 2 to cart
That link there ^
That's the us link
Might be different for different countries
Oh i see am in us
Ok ywa
I can add 2 too
Idk why it didnt let me
When i did it on my macbook
It says limit for 1 person
How much watts i need for 3080
A good 850w which will end up costing you around 105-110
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Is this build good enough
Better than my old one?
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Id do this instead
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bVJVmr
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
Ok
gone, well I mean back to $115
Oh still not the $35 though
It was $115 38min ago, the striked out price
- good though, $80ish what it maybe should be.
Ah
Sorry deleted SS. Doxed myself lol
I wonder if they meant to sell it for the $70 and not the 35
Pricing error
