Would match 2 more 2x8's and save money while also keeping on the table any potential OC value later imo
word
ill look into it
thank you @desert gulch @cyan ravine
i really appreciate the help
warzone for me was fixed by ram upgrade
other games are likely not related to ram tho, unless you have tons of bloatware
or are running a lot at once
id try to avoid corsair
is this corsair?
oh wait
im blind
yeah thats a good kit
lmao
crucial is one of the best memory manufacturers
oh word
That's likely a bingo on your other kit
thats the kit i already have
oh wait, thats a 16gb kit
i wouldnt spend that much on it
everywhere is super expensive
id either look for a cheaper version of it or get that tridentz kit and sell your current one
ye, crucial ddr4 isnt made anymore
so its expensive now
it is, considering a 16gb 3200c16 kit is $50
would i be stupid and dumb and stupid if i did it
yes
fair enough
I would just lurk around 2nd hand sellers for it until you see a decent kit for like 60 or less
a lotta people come in and just blow money on useless stuff and don't listen
rip
would it be worth buying second hand instead of just going with a different kit
To be fair you could always just spend 450 on a 5800x3d have better cpu performance and not have to worry much about ram. The l3 cache seems to help most of ryzens dependence on good ram
If you ever get the urge to you can add a few percent more to your system at least with some good ram, esp. on ryzen
When's the last time you updated bios?
Lol
Bios updates over the last couple years have been set to address stability issues like that, if not it'll be something else in your mobo settings like vSoC
There will be a guide on asus' website where the support page is for your board
If not in the manual
In the bios it's called ez flash or something similar on asus iirc
Been a minute I might have remembered that last bit wrong
watching i video on it now
man you have been so useful
ok my bios version is 1205
the current version is 2803
is that bad
nope
i need a flash drive to update bios?
yes
i updated my bios today ^_^
oddly, i noticed today a slight increase in performance
but i also tweaked a few things
what does that mean
i nearly doubled the speed of my ram
Does anyone see anything out of the ordinary/needs adjusting? I’m not really sure what I’m looking at tbh
I changed memory frequency to 3600
You change the DOCP to the saved profile (Usually the first one if there's two) to get back your old ram speed
Like, right above the memory frequency option
Lol
Under ai tweaker
It'll be like part way down
That's it, docp
It'll apply the 3600 profile along with the few timings that are also saved under the SPD
So it'll revert it back to the full speed before the bios update
All good. A common occurrence is people often don't turn it on so they never know
Can ignore that
Is the bclk frequency okay at 100?
Also, last question, do you think I should turn on asus performance enhancement
Yes
Uh no
I can't remember but I don't think that's MCE but one that skews performance for scenarios like 3dmark or cinebench iirc
So it’s like makeup but for computers
All good. You'll be running a later AGESA now which should hopefully help with the random shutdown issues
I deeply hope so
If not come back to the #overclocking channel we can probably figure it out
I don’t know if anyone here was here from when I was figuring out what gpu to upgrade to. Did we ever conclude if a founder’s edition 3080 would fit in the Corsair 220t if I have a front mounted aio?
Cause im kinda assuming on the safe side it’s best to do the founder’s edition 3070ti
FE is like 300mm yes?
Yeah
Goddamn
As long as you have no rad on the front it's fine
I do though
Might be safer to just go with 3070ti then
3070 ti is not worth it
Oof my aio is 26.9 mm
just get a 3070
Damn
oc a 3070 and you beat 3070 ti lol
I just want a ti cause it sounds cooler than a vanilla 😭
it also draws a lot more power and is hotter
super in 30 series does not exist
I was just meaning in general
yes
Okay
Reason: Bad word usage
this is small enough
$730 after $50 mir
Choosing parts is tough
Would it be worth waiting for the next series cards to come out?
Or will they probably be ridiculously pricey?
if youre patient
I mean I’m not in a rush to upgrade I’m just trying to make sure I’m making the best choice I could
I would say waiting is better but while it's on this subject case compatibility for existing cards is well enough documented versus what's on the way
Absolutely
yes
6900XT too
Cause I think that’s the biggest thing is I want to play forza and have the game look stunning
6900xt obliterates 3070
My 1660 don’t like the game very well haha
i would grab that 6900xt
id go for the 6900xt if it were me and i had the budget
if your psu is good enough
very much good enough
One of the best
My only concern is I would probably have to change some software then right? Since I currently am running an nvidia card
Idk what ddu is ._.
then install amd driver once the amd one is installed
it's a tool for clean gpu driver removal
you can get it from guru3d
Okay cool
Then I could sell the 1660. Or put it in on my brother’s pc so that he’s no longer running a 1060 haha

Worth doing to avoid some crazy bugs from just swapping lol
1660 doesn't go for much these days
I know unfortunately
I would just give it to someone
Shoulda taken it out and sold it back when they were going for like $700 lol
even then 6900xt was fairly well priced in that time
it was like close and below msrp sometimes
It was mind blowing to me honestly the price I was seeing the 1660 sell for during those crazy times considering I literally bought it for 265 I think
Woulda been huge profit on my end if I did take it out and sell it
I gotta get on here to have these discussions at a better time than right before I sleep lol. I sometimes forget what I’ve talked about and forget if there was any other questions I had lol
gone are those days 😦
Can I ask questions here regarding laptops?
not really the right channel for it
Hello I'm looking to downgrade the 3080 bc I'm about to give the kids there computer and I wanna give a gpu that's more around same power as the i3 so I was thinking 3050 or 3060 someone messaged me today 6700xt how is that card compared to performance wise
6700xt is a little better than 3060ti
Probably pretty comparable.
Not with a 3080
$4-500 imo
U can buy a red devil card for that price I think
Would to 6600xt for like 350 or 6600 for like 275
So what on top money should I ask or something
Nvm I just seen your original post 😅
Wdym?
I'm looking to trade my 3080 for a lower spec card
Ohhhhhh
I thought you where just gonna sell and buy
Ehh it's a gaming z trio 3080 12gb right?
Yea
I would say trading seems better
You might not be able to trade, might be easier to sell and buy 2nd hand
But I'd say you could get 700-750? For it maybe
oh
Yeah 700-750 sounds accurate for a used 3080, maybe a little more for the 12gb mode?
I don't think so tbh, sips said he saw a 3090 sell for 850 iirc
Also 3080 12gb gaming oc is 730$ atm
I got tree fiddy @analog pulsar
It's going to depend on the specific laptop
Oh
Also not all laptops allow you to easily upgrade ram. Some laptops have soldered in ram
It can make sense to buy additional ram for a laptop yourself (since oems charge so much for it) but you have to be sure the laptop enables it
Atm p31 2tb is 160 iirc and it's better

Well ik but laptop I got doesn't have it
I made sure
@fossil cedar pato should I just get 6700xt and call it a day
Will 6700xt be a good gpu for i3 12100F
Up to you, imo 6600 or 6600xt would be a more even match tho
Yea true
Well you're the one best positioned to figure out the speed of ram and the ram capacity of that laptop unless you share the model
Looks good
Ik ik
M15 R7 but I was just gunna use what I have rn and see if I need to upgrade it later
https://i.imgur.com/z1Lu30A.png ive been using this for couple months now max load i got to was like 13GB- 12.5GB
I think this is the doc you need: https://dl.dell.com/content/manual22171472-alienware-m15-r7-setup-and-specifications.pdf?language=en-us&ps=true
Based on the specs it may only support 4800mhz. The gaming laptop I used to have had bios locked down such that you couldn't oc the ram, I don't know if this one is any different or not

I have a budget of $1300. Should I wait to build a Gaming PC after the next gen graphics cards come out, or should I build right this second with all of these deals going around?
For the love of all things tech, switch the graph to show logical cores

Almost nothing useful about the total graph
You asked this yesterday also whats with the bold lmao
He wants to be seen
he also already got an answer yesterday from a couple techies and ig just decided to reask?
for $1300 you can make a pretty nice computer right now, hell the $500 gaming PC with an actual GPU is a thing again
As is tradition
xD
just do it, the prices took a nose dive today

This gaming PC is for a commission I'm doing with no set time limit
^
The real question is: Can $1,300 put together a good system with speculative pricing of the 13th Gen intel and 4000 Series graphics cards?
We can't put together a system with speculative pricing at all
how are we gonna price something that isnt even out?
Midrange 40 series won't even be out until next year
gpu stock could be crap again, where you cant even find anything at msrp, we dont know
And remember the first 40 series to come out will be 4080 and 4090, rest of the series might be like 6 months away
Just build now if it's for a commission
Seriously prices of 30 series cards just tanked cause of a MASSIVE overstock, there is no way the 40 series will be anything near as good at launch as the value is right now
now is a pretty good time to buy
I getcha
What do you guys think of this
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Good build? Can we chop the prices down?
whats a good ddr4 mobo to go with a i7-12700kf
if you make it an AMD build the 5700X and a motherboard to with it would be a lot cheaper, but would benefit from higher speed ram
actually 5800X is only $2 more than a 5700X right now
absolute bargain
hello friends and family
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8LVLwc this is my current setup and i am looking for 32gb of ram instead of 16. I cannot find the set i have now bc they dont sell them anymore. does anyone have a recommendation
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
you could just buy 2 16GB kits
same thing
then sell your current kit
@strong idol this the kit you are looking for?
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Only reason to go amd atm is you already have an am4 board
thats the one
they upcharged it so much though. thats why ive been considering just going with a different brand
well he asked about shaving cost, and it would shave a sizable chunk of it while not really losing THAT much performance
That's way too overpriced, you could buy a 32gb kit of 3600cl16 new for that
No it wouldn't, check my list
any suggestions?
just get 32GB of a different kit and sell your current one, what I suggested before
Yeah I'd just get this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zcH8TW/gskill-ripjaws-v-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-32gvkc

if you want stock of something that isn't around anymore you'd be massively over paying
well there is this
Sketch seller with only 1 rating at 5 stars, it's your money to risk
shipping is gonna suck
ngl I don't trust unknown sellers of parts on ebay, especially with too good to be true prices
is there anywhere you know of that i could sell my current parts that isnt ebay
like a discord server or something
I sold my old parts through a local LAN party group
That's a product rating and has nothing to do with the sellers
people keep saying that the ram i have is good so why did they stop selling it
R/hardwareswap
Ballistix I'm guessing? They discontinued it to focus on DDR5
It's so sad
GSkill is a great alternative
They've been cheap lately too
hey wait
Those non usa prices right now are nuts, for ballistix
the seller has 631 reviews
Although tbf microns ddr5 sucks atm so i get they need the recourses
is he still sketch
630 reviews with 95% or higher sounds good
nvm they cant send it to me
100% rated, not bad at all
mans a professional flipper
Aka scalper
I reopen and close hwinfo
My gpu temp keeps going blank
Wait
It's just bc of some thing with power save mode
I guesssing bad driver
would also say bad sensor but it works without power saving mode so
probably bad drivers or another stupid windows issue
you sure everything is updated kenzie
and you've also removed mcafee
and other bloatware
he hooked up to cope
idk if anyone remembers but i came here for help cause my pc would crash when playing almost anything that 3d graphics at 60hz and up, I fixed the issue when I replaced one of the wires connecting to my asiahorse cables to my gpu, and my games stopped crashing, but just recently the same issue occurs and i’m experiencing crashes again and again it’s only games like doom, or watch dogs 2, or No mans sky, but games like minecraft dungeons(when not at 170hz) dont starve together, anything simpler will run just fine, i tested my pc for everything again and nothing is wrong with my ssds or hdd and cpu and gpu pass the stress tests

So is the 31 my best optin
yup its good one

Vs these two
sn570 is slower than p31 I think
Yeah
not sure about mp34
Pato was saying that earlier just wanted to double check
p31 is one of the best gen 3 ssds
hands down
570 most definitely slower than it
and less power efficient, and has less endurance
It is a power save feature for somw reason
Wait
Sorry
Advance optimus
oh optimus
idk what to do about that, probably just force it to use dgpu or something
I did
Anyone know a good deal for prime day on like a pc part or monitor or just something
So I should get the P31 at the price that it is
Well just something y’all would recommend
I posted one for a 750W PSU in #tech-deals
Probs A tier unless it was h1 inspired for the new model
It's the new 2022 model, they upgraded it to Gold and full modular. The old 2020 Bronze model was A tier, so unless they really borked something it's an easy A.
Yea sure, it's basically the best Gen 3. Not usually $160.

hello but English pls
So I ordered all my parts, and ended up with:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600g, ASUS TUF x570 plus wifi, Msi 3x 3080 oc 12gb, EVGA 750w qm, rosewill prism s500, teamgroup mp33 256gb nvme ssd, teamgroup 16 gb 3200mhz cl16 ram, seagate barracuda 2tb hard drive, and I think that covers everything! Any thoughts?
Sorry mb homes
ummm
5600g on an x570 mobo?
it does, just not a good cpu for that mobo, plus gen 12th is by far better in price/performance
you can cancel your order
But as long as it works
i guess
and help the guys here with your budget so they can tailor a very good pc for you
You might need to update bios to get the cpu to work
It’s already on the way and I just might stick with amd anyways
Hm
How would I do that?
thats... quite problematic on that mobo
if i recall it rigth the tuf x570 dont have a bios flashback
Dang
maybe you are lucky and your cpu will work no problem, if not then your mobo will need a bios upgrade using another amd cpu, maybe from an old build or a friend
dont know how the refund thing works with newegg, but if you can return the whole build that should be better, so the guys around here can help you to get a better bang for your buck
currently you can get a better and cheaper pc using 12th gen instead of amd
Lol, I’ll check it out, thanks
If the motherboard comes with version 4002 (from 6/19/21) or newer then it will work with the 5600g out of the box
Otherwise you would need an older CPU to flash bios or refund/exchange
Probably not, check the box and it'll say what version it shipped with originally
What if my friend was willing to ship me over a cpu to borrow for a sec
I think it’s a 3600, I helped him build the rig a couple years ago so it should work with a x570fs
That would work
X570 works with 3000 out of the box
Unless it's one of the weird ones like 3800XT
I really would just return the 5600g
It's a lot worse than the 5600
Basically a 3600 with an igpu and better imc
What is the best budget board for a 12100(f)?
I wanna replace parts in my dad's PC.
There's a $100 msi b660 board
I think so
Io kinda sucks though
Also no heatsinks
Pro a same price I thought?
Ah
Rommet is very biased
Hmm?
Was joking
I'm half delirious atm so might not be uhh
What's the word
Whatever
I got my covid shot yesterday and have spent all day sleeping and haven't eaten today
Pro a wifi is $120 iirc
One sec
Pro A it is
Ye
Dats the cheapest with wifi
Not a lot of good tech deals for prime day, just the usual marked up to mark it down "deals" that are just the regular price it's been for weeks
Won't find too many boards that could handle a 12900k with unlocked power limits at that price too
what if i went and ordered a 5800x
That would probably work without an update
and i know you said 12th gen is better and i believe you, but i just really want amd lmao
alrighty, well i just might do that then
5800X gets HOT though
ah
It's one of the hottest modern processors because of the heat density
It doesn't even come with a stock cooler, for good reason
ooohhh ok
5700X is cooler because lower power limits but you'd need newer bios again
That would be fine, especially at 1440p or higher
gotcha
the funny thing is i chose a 3080 but currently have a 1080p 60hz monitor
i plan on upgrading but rn i really dont even need my 3080 lol
i've been using a zephyrus g14 as my daily for around a year now
You can use DSR to render in a higher resolution and display in 1080p, it'll look smoother that way
so I got this build and I would like some advice on how to make it better without going higher in price https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CjCtKp
oh cool
change out your memory my man
that was the first kit i got and it was slow
thats what im putting in my new rig and its on a nice sale
thanks
Those 2 kits will perform nearly identical though...
Sure, if the frequency was the same
If they are nearly identical then I will go with the cheaper of the two haha, im a broke college student
I can't argue with that my man
i stand corrected i suppose
3200 to 3600 doesn't make a big difference on Intel
If it was AMD absolutely do 3600
Ive got a 5600X and love it
Its a nice nice boi
Am I missing something or is that no longer on pcpp
prob incompatible
Oh maybe
looking for a case?
I unticked the compatibility filter tho
Oh it's the search being stupid
It won't find it if you just type 330
mx330
its just how the search algo works I think
so it only looks for 330... words
phanteks just released a new case, might be worth checking out, its an airflow case if thats what you are going for
For some reason their search only starts at the beginning of "words" and can't match the middle
ive got a p500A and i love it lol
g360 is good if you're talking about that
yeah
its like a baby P500A
my birthday is coming up, may look into a new mouse and some cable management stuff for my case along with an argb controller
i made the mistake of not realizing i needed a ARGB port on my mobo, so all my fans are dark minus my exaust from my old case. u can see my setup in build chat
dang
fan controllers are just glorified Y splitters 😛
looked at maybe swapping my G910 keyboard for a 415 i think? its got the brushed alumunim frame, rgb too, but its missing the volume scroll wheel i love
my new pro headset is pretty nice tho
i was between the pro or the 733? and i ended up trying both on and i think the 733 is a little cheap even being wireless for like 130 bucks
the pro is built extremely well for 100 bucks
i have the 733, battery life has degraded and mic isnt great
went wired because im not about to drop 200 on a wireless
but its light and comfy sooooo
Yeah
my peripherals include the g502 lightspeed, g733, and a g512 keyboard, and the only thing thats slightly dissapointing is the 733
niceee
the only thing about the 910, and the 512 for that matter, is they're absolutley massive
i really want like a 75% or maybe 60
the 910 is quitw big, its heavy too
i wish i could have key cap interchangibility
and less plastic
i am looking at the G502 hero mouse too
may go wireless on it
the 513 carbon is what i like keyboard wise
such a great shape and its hefty
the 502 has always intriged me
i noticed that too! its a nice heavy mouse
i think i have a well built setup. its all very like, sturdy lol
okey the 502 lightspeed is 80 bucks
would i need the lightspeed deskpad too?
lol
god the 512 looks so nice but its missing the volume scroll which i love on my 910
i bought the 910 figuring i will eventually prolly need the extra media keys so its better to have and not need than not have and need down the road
oh, on the G502, do you use the freewheel feature a lot scrolling?
I use the freewheel all the time on the G502
I like the adjustable weight too, and the hero sensor is excellent
sweet
may do that as a birthday present
i need a rear case fan too, gonna pick that up, and the argb controller
i think i wanna do a 140 in the back
Arctic P14, there's RGB and non models
i wanted to sync it with my 3 front fans, which is why i was gonna stick with phanteks
unless i could sync another type to it
trying to figure out what to do about an argb controller because i dont think phanteks has what i need
Brand doesn't matter as long as it's the same 3 or 4 pin RGB type
ahh
Cooler Master has good RGB/fan hubs
Unless you specifically need a controller because the board doesn't have RGB at all
You'll need a controller that has a decent remote and mode settings then
ahh
Some you can connect to a USB header and it acts like a RGB header
https://www.razer.com/gaming-pc-accessories/razer-chroma-addressable-rgb-controller idk if i can post links here but this is what i was looking at lol
ive got that odd 3 pin in the back and nowhere to hook it up lol
Looks like this
phanteks has a fan hub but i dont think it supports the argb pins, may be wrong
Wow Razer makes a garbage product page
I can't tell if that requires an ARGB header
lemme show ya what ive got then lol
Ok found the install manual and that's one of those controllers that connects by USB header I mentioned
So that would work
Ahh, ive got USB ports avaible too I think
No not the ports, the actual 2.0 header on the board
ooooo
Yeah they are on the bottom of my board marked USB
soo, rear fan, the controller, and maybe an SSD
thats right guys, i dont have an SSD
Too bad MP33 sale ended
Still a good price at $72 but it got as low as $63
For 1TB
yeah
thats actually not a bad price
i will be burning a hole in my wallet tommorow with the mountan bike rebuild so imma wait till my birthday and see if prices on them have changed at all
Fair. Should still be good prices for the things we've discussed.
ye
i found a Crucial MX500 for like 90 bucks, i could get it down to like 75 with a promo code
Don't have M.2?
ooh it doesnt lol
You could add M.2 using a PCIe adapter
If the PC is newer than the last gen of AM3+ it can boot from nvme
its an AM4 board, i thought you mean the ssd didnt have M2 lol
pretty sure my board does then
yup its got it lol
You could get the MP33 for $72 then
oooo
Ooh actually Silicon Power A60 for $70
i ma save that
got that saved lol
Yeahp, I bought one and I think it’s gonna be great
It's a really good budget drive, you'll love it
Dang haha
I’m probably going to do the worst thing with money buy Csgo cases
your wallet is crying
Yes it's better
I've got a challenge for someone:
Make a $500 AUD build w/ 16GB of RAM and 512GB M.2 SSD.

This is the best I could do.

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/K7tH8
This also mine is infinitely better cus your board has no nvme slot unless you like playing bios simulator
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-9900K, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Uh wtf
That is not the list i made
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10105, Deepcool MATREXX 30 MicroATX Mini Tower
There we go
Could just grab that board and go like bx500
Get a $10 PCIe M.2 adapter and call it a day
Yeah but why do that when the prime board is 10 more anyway lol
Then get the $5 one
Bruh just go 4200g or something and it'll game way better than a 710
I did not say 5600g for a reason lol
yeah but it's the cheapest one on pcpp
I didn't see a rule against manual price entry in the terms of the "contest"
well if I throw $10 more to mine I have all decent quality parts
A-BN is a tier C PSU
That's plenty for iGPU builds
same price as the other psu tho so worth it
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10105, Silverstone FARA H1M MicroATX Mini Tower
If ur really on a budget u could just make a case out of the cardboard https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/HRQMTn
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10105F, Radeon RX 6500 XT
he's got a point, cardboard box is a strat

I can fit a D5 GT 730

PC Builder - Intel Core i3-10105F, GeForce GT 730
I just realized I made a gaming pc to squeal to 370 usd
I could prob do better if 2nd hand was an option
Oh
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100, Aerocool Bolt ATX Mid Tower
Heheheh we love the OEM bomb PSU
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100, Aerocool Bolt ATX Mid Tower
UHD 730 should be able to at least somewhat game in lighter titles
bUt iT wIlL mElT
Yes
If you ditch the case and pick and MSI A-BN it goes to 488 and you only have to deal with throttling VRMs
Plant the bomb on A
C is the better plant but ok
Plant it in E (tier)
Tbf having a case with a bomh psu I would feel safer than one without
Always good to have a blast shield
Fun fact
U can put your psu in a water loop
And real life is like mc, no blast damage in water
Probably have similar success with a toaster lol
I see that and i raise you 13$ more for not bomb
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/HZB7pH
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100, Aerocool Bolt ATX Mid Tower
WAIT
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100
add a p12 over the vrm for the remaining $12
And you have no more vrm issues
This is genius
Then
Perfect
cases? where we're going, we don't need cases.
Smh, what fun is it if your pc can’t have the possibility of blowing up
NZXT be like:
Hey let's make a post to make some people laugh
3 seconds later: gets roasted by some random dude
Hey the PSU isn’t a bomb
True
And aus uses 230v
my pc is recognizing my usb stick but somehow the creation tool isn't, tried formating the stick but still no results. Any ideas?
What's your stick formatted as? Needs to be fat32
It is formated as fat32
other usb sticks aren't getting recognized too
Which should I choose?
plugged it in the mainboard, now it works
Maybe the USB connector from your case is not plugged in all the way then?
But it's only not being detected in the media creation tool
Hm
Well then the media creation tool is just prejudice against the cases USB ports.
after installing windows I plugged the lan cable, but it doesn't connect to the internet
Idk try this
https://youtu.be/p9jmQgPg7mg
In this video tutorial, I will show you guys how to solved ISP LAN(Local Area Network) Connected in PC or Laptops but not Internet Access.

ip address will be on ur router
192.168.xxx.yyy
the .yyy can be anything u want
subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0
I have some left over cash is was looking into some parts possibly and looking for recommendations. I am already looking at a Kraken to replace my current CPU Cooler that I don't think is made anymore but anything extra would be great knowledge to have https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fVHQfv
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Radeon RX 570, Zalman Z7 ATX Mid Tower
It still says "unidentified network"
Kraken is overpriced and meh aio in the first place, also just not needed for a 2600, first upgrade would probably be to a better ssd tbh and put your windows install on that, team mp33 500gb or 1tb is a great choice atm. Could upgrade your gpu to something although that would depend on budget, if you still had budget, could upgrade to a ryzen 5 5600, also the stock amd cooler is going to be better than the one you have atm. If upgrading gpu you will need a new power supply and would highly recommend a better case, tbh might be just worth selling your current pc and building from scratch
REEEEEEE WALL OF TEXT
Honestly
how dare u pato
smh
Well they asked
oooffff... really? It was a prebuilt to be honest and I don't have much knowledge of hardware and I currently use it for work while using for games and streaming so I don't think I would be able to sell it unless I had another on standby at the current moment
if it helps I have like maybe 1000 to play with
I wouldn't mind sell and rebuild but I would have to rebuild and then sell
Like I would get all the parts and then buy it using Affirm or something, get the pieces, build, and then sell this one or keep it for my wife
Well I’d do both of Patos suggestions like the nvme and 5600x, should put you back around 300-400
Could probably pick up a 3060 and be within that $1000 budget still
Isn't there an insane deal somewhere for that type of ssd? WB Black or whatever it's called
Again, i'm super noob to hardware...
I’d suggest looking at our deal chat, wb black is solid but the p31 is practically best in class
Yeah best buy has the 2tb SN850 for $135 iirc
And that
Cheaper than a 2tb P31 too
it's actually 121 near me lol
Pretty much any gen 3+ nvme will be a huge upgrade
oh wait that's 1TB
Ok i'll definitely look into that. Is there any chance you know where that goes on this motherboard? i've looked and don't see the spot
Mind just taking a picture fast? Might be under your gpu
I think I see it actually... under the GPU Fan?
Is it just like a thin tall rectangle with 3 holes for standoffs horizontal to it 👀
That’s the one
Awesome! ok I'll see if I can pick that up soon. What was the other thing he recommended? A new GPU right?
A new cpu and gpu
You could also run a 5600 on that mobo with a bios update, and I'd replace psu and gpu next
5600
You’d still be in budget
So the list I have is NVME, PSU (AUSU 650), and 5600 GPU correct?
isnt the 2TB WB-black like 56% off on newegg right now?
Or if we do a new motherboard is the same price with the 1TB
Okay the cpu is a ryzen 5 5600x gpu is a 3060 or something around 400 like the radeon 6600 (not to familiar with amd pricing) and the power supply you got. The sn850 is way more worth it for your use case, wd black is a gen 4 nvme which you won’t be able to use to its full speed on your mobo
SN850 is wd black…
Pfff w.e

Wait it’s the same drive
Reason: Bad word usage
I’m going crazy
I was just excited the price on a 5600x lol
The 5600x is a great upgrade tho
I meant that's it's 56% off right now lol
Should be around 179 usd
that's correct. I'm now looking at the radeons
The ROG Strix 650W features an 80 Plus Gold certification for energy efficiency, IP5X-certified 135mm Axial-Tech 0Db fan, ROG heatsinks and 100% Japanese capacitors. Is that what you meant Forg?
ASUS TUF GAMING 650W Bronze PSU features an 80 Plus Bronze certification for energy efficiency, Axial-tech 0dB fan and military-grade components, 80cm 8-pin CPU Connector and 6-year Warranty. Asus tuf, not strix
Or this one?
The second one
I don't see any SN850 that isnt' Gen4
So I shouldn't get the Gen4?
Oh yeah I'd definitely sell your current pc then and just buy a new one, would you like to do 1k + money from selling pc or just 1k?
Tho I'd keep the hdd
I know you are trying to help but it feels like you are just saying everything I have sucks lol
Yeah you can keep some hard rrives
I mean
Lowkey
I get it, i get it lol
When you're looking at putting 1k into it, the only things you'd keep are maybe motherboard, case, and hdd
At the time I didn't know this place existed and I needed a computer fast
Not at all it's a perfectly capable pc just not really worth your time upgrading much as almost everything but the motherboard and hard drives would require a replacement and at that stage you're building a new pc
contacted micorsoft in regard to this issue, it didn't help at all
Ok, if you don't mind showing me 1,000 one without selling this one would be great. I can just wipe this and give it to my wife for a Sims machine/steam machine for the living room or something
I'll still keep that list for upgrading this one a little bit later just so it's an ok machine and i'll replace the PSU just in case since @mossy venture has be worried about it lol
Yeah sure, you looking to build yourself or do you want a prebuilt?
I gotta learn someday lol. I'll build it myself and save the extra 100 for a better part
Cool, you can either save 100 or so or get better parts, up to you
i'd rather get better parts so I can at least coast on it for a bit till a get a raise at work lol
If you can go a bit over 1k I'd do this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DKVH8r
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
And I'll use my own CPU Cooler fan right?
Some of the prices are higher on Amazon.... Super rude of you amazon
@flint sapphire was saying that Gen4 wasn't going to work?
no itll work it just wont run at full speed
AH! I misread, my apologies
Just the stock intel cooler, although you could get an aftermarket one for about 20$ which would be a bit cooler and a good bit quieter just trying to stay closer to 1k but here's a list with the 2 after market coolers i would choose
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sThTzf
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
That's the beauty of pc part picker, it gives you the lowest price for each part, if you where to do Amazon only you'd have to spend a bit more for the same pc
Ah I see. So coolers don't matter? like i know I need one but it's not like they don't have the problem of working together like most parts
Emm it's mainly just the stock ones are good enough for the ~150-200$ cpus usually
That makes more sense. I'll take a look at all the stuff and see which is the best for me for right now. Thanks to you @flint sapphire @mossy venture and @vague oracle for all of your helps! I have a lists saved so I don't forget
Np
you mentioned a part. It may have been one thing but I wouldn't of known about it lol
4 hours later no results, Microsoft support sucks bad
It is so disappointing to have such an issue
your ethernet driver is missing
yep
download ethernet driver for you board
onto a usb stick then put it onto the rig
mobo
Do I need to get in BIOS?
no
Drivers are OS related
Now I installed the driver, should I restart?
nothing changed
I don't get it
one last chance, I installed the driver for windows 11🤦♂️
Do I need to uninstall the driver now?
Not sure if you've tried any of this, but this has allegedly solved your problem - https://windowsreport.com/wi-fi-doesnt-have-a-valid-ip-configuration-windows-11/
This has step by step to uninstall/install drivers and everything just read it
Could we fit a value budget AIO and NVIDIA 3060ti in this build? I have $200 more to work with
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
could also get clc 360, but would have to replace fans on it if you mind noise
Thoughts on these?
https://www.newegg.com/black-rosewill-prism-s500-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811147283?Item=N82E16811147283
VS.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pqzhP6/phanteks-eclipse-g360a-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec360atg_dbk02
that rosewill is mediocre at best
g360a is a great case
could also consider 4000d airflow
Understood
g360a vs 4000d thoughts?
I buying these all right now
This second, it's happening
thats personal preference
theyre both great cases
both can support 360mm aios, both have great airflow
4000d airflow i believe comes with 2 non rgb
hmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah tbh
Okay next up
Can we do something more budget friendly for that cooler
Does that $100 jump from the aircooler really pack a punch?
yeah honestly I'm not getting much temps on this anyways
Do I really need an AIO for this build?
no
Oh then 100% ak620
ak620 fine for a 12700f, only time you need an aio on is if youre ocing or have a 12900/5950x/debatably 5800x (my friends 5800x sits around 88c with a drp4)
yeah no ocing here
yeah, since its a b660
yeah to be completely honest with ourselves
well, okay then!
if ak620 is fine for 12700f
how is it for 12600kf
its what me and a lot of others here recommend for them often
Very well, that's what I'll do
Okay so I buy these parts
do I need to buy anything else
Screwdrivers? Flash Drive? Thermal Paste?
could add some more fans if you wanted, but not needed
thermal paste comes with the ak620
if you wanted could get some mx-5, but wont make a huge difference
Screwdrivers and flash drive?
that im unsure on
ah you're welcome
actually one sec
should I upgrade considering the price difference of only a couple bucks more
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GvmmP6/msi-pro-z690-a-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z690-a-ddr4 this is a great deal
Nah
tho no wifi
why so
I've noted that Pato says matx are a no go in regular cases, but why exactly?
Sorry meant to reply to this
imo if you dont need wifi on the board this is worth it
Hold on forg, How did you find this nice $480 3060ti
just looking through pcp
it isn't searchable on pcpartpicker
when i sort by lowest to highest price on 3060ti's
Press the 3060 ti lhr filter
lhr?
You have to expand the GPU options, there's more models
what is LHR
low hash rate
Light hash rate
its irrelevant now
How do we search properly
it doesnt affect gaming perf, and its been 100% bypassed except on 3080 12gb and 3050s
nvm found it
had to extend the options
what is the difference between LHR cards and non LHR cards
nothing
