Which one should I get
What's the price difference?
for you, you most likely wont feel much of a difference in most games between the 12600kf and 12700f
$55 i believe
I'd go 12700f then imo
might be 60
Either go 12400f or just jump to 12700f
i dont feel like checking
Ok
Ty for yalls help
MSI Full HD Gaming RGB Non-Glare Super Narrow Bezel 1ms 1920 x 1080 144Hz Refresh Rate Adjustable Height Arm FreeSync 27” IPS Gaming Monitor (Optix MAG273R), Black (OPTIXMAG273R) a good monitor for the pc?
id get a g27q
if youre fine with curved
1440p is nice to have with a 3080
Ok
Q is flat, QC is curved
This is my secondary
SAMSUNG T350 Series 22-Inch FHD 1080p Computer Monitor, 75Hz, IPS Panel, HDMI, VGA (D-Sub), 3-Sided Border-Less, FreeSync (LF22T350FHNXZA)
That's fine for a second screen
Yeah
Really any cheap thing unless you intend to use it for colour-accurate work
Second monitor specs don't matter much, I'd just get the cheapest 1080p 60hz VA panel you can find
VA or ips
Could you give me link to the monitor you have suggested
Ok
Wait that does actually look flat
Am I going crazy
Ty
Lol
Sorry felix
All good
Makes you wonder why G27Q exists sometimes
But it's a good screen, great price
Sooo
Sooo?
Still get it?
Yea for sure
M27q is overpriced atm
Ok lol
$360
Daym
Yeah it's 314 on Amazon thou
Prob gonna get through newegg
Should I get the protection plan it's trying to get me to buy
Yea pretty much always been a thing unless you wasted money on certain cpus in the past. (AHEM extreme edition Intels, haha)
That pfp is sus.
can anybody tell me how many GBs the transfer speed is for the usb-c port https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GLD6LYW?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
There's a saying about not noticing something until it's mentioned. 🙃
It should be
looks flat to me lol
Curved is the QC/FC.
20Gbps
It's 3.2 gen 2x2
what case is that?
Typically it’s the inside for wires
Fans are a perfect colour match there
whenever I asked the person I hired to help me build my pc, I was kindly told to “look at the manual, dip####”
this just reminded me of that
up to*
The manual literally has the pin out with a diagram showing those specific plugs lol
generally that is used negatively so
well is there video output?
if not just hold the power button
if yes just shut it down from windows
Even with my display port plugged in
It wouldnt turn off on command
For 1st boot or not, try hdmi. DisplayPort sort of needs drivers.
Alright
Hi all. Found out my AMD Ryzen 7 2nd gen is dead. Want to switch to Intel. Want to reuse what I can. Vid card should still be good. Memory is DDR4 2666, 2x8GB, so I think I’m good there. I’d like to reuse liquid cooler too. Are AMD and Intel liquid coolers interchangeable?
With a new build you would need a new lga1700 bracket for it to work on brand new intel
You could reuse the cooler aslong as you found the lga1700 bracket, probably by contacting the company
Although some manufacturers sell the lga1700 bracket on Amazon or whatever for like $5 so there may be that option aswell
If we knew the specific model, we could probably find that out for you
The PC was a CyberPowerPC build. Big mistake. Cooler has their logo. So I don’t know the manufacturer. Guess I’m getting a new cooler too. Or still stick with AMD. Thanks.
Np, could ask them as last resort or just go amd
Good chance the motherboard would work with a Ryzen 5 5600 after a bios update or something
what liquid cooler do you have?
oh
shouldve read down
id also recommend new ram, 2666mhz is kinda slow
you can get a 32gb 3200c16 kit for $90 or a 16gb kit for $15
I haven’t built a pc in probably 10 years or more. I’ve used laptops. I always used AMD, but I recall having issues. Wasn’t sure if it was b/c I built it or it was AMD. Had issues with this pc too. Explorer would lock up. Makes me wonder if it’s AMD. But it also used OTS parts, which I would’ve done.
its definitely not amd
I’m gathering that. Prolly get a new MB, lightning strike nearby, fried 3 USB devices. Sent MB to Gigabyte, told no issues. I find that hard to believe. Not sure I trust it or them anymore.
are these temps hot??
running i7 12700k withiCue elite 150
intels website says they have built in safetys to prevent overheating
Device name Grandpa
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.61 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
this is my system
and these are the temps while playing conan exiles
Can someone help me with wifi. I don't know what to buy.
I have the MSI z690 ddr4 wifi6 mb and i get awesome wifi downloads of 500Mb+ on a wifi connection and 900Mb+ on hardwired connection
depends on load, and nope. Also edit the device ID/product ID out of your msg, lol
ok, ty
Also nobody uses fahrenheit for PC temps
I'm going to just to mess with people.
It's all in Celsius, even the USA people do it
lol
If the USA people use a metric unit, that's pretty important
@mossy venture i hit a max of 63c while gaming with the h510i and the 212 cpu cooler lolol
and im in arizona, hottest fkn state ever
Prolly a 65W cpu that one
what cpu
another question... shouldnt my icue be pulling air through the radiator instead of pushing airm through it?
iCUE is a software, it can't pull anything mechanically
it still doesn't change the fact that h510 series apart from flow is crap cooling wise
Lol but pushing or pulling air, as long as the fans are working on the rad, either way is honestly fine
push or pull doesn't matter long as the airflow is actually in the correct direction. 12700K has a lot in it, but 65-70C seems warm for 15% load. idk. Pump rpm so variable is mainly what I see . Anyone else have something to add?
i7 11700f
okay let me rephrase the question... shouldnt my aio be pulling air through the radiator from outside the unit instead of the otherway around?
Good eye. The pump should be set to 100%
It depends on where it's mounted but usually it's front/side is inflow, top outflow
and correction, i have the H100i
its set on top
so that would mean the outflow it is doing is good??
k, ty
I was just concerned because for such a simple game to be pulling those temps, I couldn't even imagine a more harder game what temps I would be pulling
For pump click on balanced, I'm curious what other options there are. A higher speed pump setting could definitely see if cpu temp will get a bit lower.
I should note btw, a h100i on a 12700K is really asking for the higher temps of itself
You really want a 280 or 360 aio for that cpu
sorry caps
Arctic liquid freezer II 360 or EVGA CLC 360 (<<On sale rn)
Make sure the case can fit it first
clc is loud
kk gonna check right now
but you can limit the fans to 70%
shoot evga only 79.00 thats half what I paid for thre H100 LOL
Yup
The EVGA CLC 360 liquid CPU cooler has arrived! This new liquid cooler from EVGA gives you incredible performance, low noise, and robust software controls. The full copper water block pulls the heat from your CPU to the radiator, where newly designed fans, Featuring Teflon Nano bearings, effortle...
And it's solid
let me go to pcbuilder to ensure it fits first
PC Builder - Phanteks Eclipse P500A ATX Mid Tower
well it says it will fit
thank you peeps for your help, i'll order this tonight
U can just look at case specifications on case manufacturers site btw
lol, ty I aint a young pup anymore so I depend on new tech to help me with decisions... and you guys
okay peeps, it doesn't actually say it is compatiable with the socket LGA1700
am I just not reading it right?
It comes wirh a bracket, and if it doesn't you can contact evga and they will send you one
okay, ty
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/tacocatbell/saved/B6cz6h
This list contains the upgrade path for my PC
Corsair - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
You could get a 3 pack of arctic p12 argb for $45
Corsair fan (pun intended)
How much of this is already bought?
Motherboard, PSU, fans (minus 3), SSD 980 drive, Commander Core XT, Commander Core, keyboard, mouse, headset, light strips, monitors
So a good chunk of it
Had to trim a lot of it out but I would do something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fgy978
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower
It'll all still sync to iCUE so you still get to use that if that's your thing
how much can u return
also what u got rn
Why would I do that?
To get better parts?
B550 board is fine
Why would I DOWNGRADE the case? 5000D airflow is perfectly fine. My current case is the 4000D airflow
You didn't say you bought the case
Ok. Let's ask this instead. Why a 5000D when you already have a 4000D?

Why I switched.
- 5000D was on sale.
- White.
- I plan on custom loop in future.
- White.
- White.
5000d/x is great
3 side fans
5000d is chonk
I was waiting for this and I didn't even need to write it
That way the GPU can get the air it needs

Because side fans pull in air and the front ones push it over the GPU
Hence the ML120 Elite fans
Tcb
Kes help
The front ones pull in air AND push it over the gpu
You could change the fans at that price to T30's in your 4000D and have more success than spending twice as much for ML120's and a 5000D
More to the point it's a gross waste of income
5 p12's for less tho
The one that come with the capellix
Yes but rgb.
Ehhhh
And p12s are more than enough in a 4000D
P12's actually look dope in a 4/5000D
Thats cheaper then the p12 argbs
I run antec prizm x and still get phenomenal temps.
P12 argbs are 46 bucks
New
The mls are also new.
a single ML120 elite is $30
Its just some system integrator ditching the mls on the coolers
Right. A Lot more cost for a little bit more performance.
Alright. But this still absolutely doesn't change the fact that he wants to spend $200 for nearly 0 benefit
Let alone the ram, cooler, the 5800X3d and the GPU all being a bad marriage
Its just a thrown together build yeah?
Mix of new and existing parts
Bruv. Buy the ml pro 8led on eBay.
Haven't bought it yet
Right. Thrown together.
Right and the 4000D is still fine
So before this goes off the rails, are you asking for advice? Or is this just a show and tell
The only reason to really go with 5000D over 4000D is if you plan to
- Use a gpu and cpu with both having an AIO
- Building a custom loop

Dual aio build
Mainly a show
Show off my future build
I'm under no obligation to follow what you recommended
Ok well I won't say anymore then
He didn't ask for advice anywhere
3 people responded with suggestions. It's the underlying context of the channel. I don't think we were entirely out of line. But I won't say anymore about the build
I mean, I get that he didn't ask for advice, but its hard when we care about our members and not wasting money when cheaper/better options exist out there. Of course we are gonna put our thoughts out there and try to change their mind.
This is build chat after all.
I respect all builds no matter the choices of the builder/user
However I will recommend some better products for either a little more or little less
But a PC is mainly personal choice. What specific parts the user wants
I used this to choose my motherboard too
https://linustechtips.com/topic/1137619-motherboard-vrm-tier-list-v2-currently-amd-only/
Credit to: @LukeSavenije The following list is based on facts, ranked on power delivery and known problems. The list will include boards that support CPU overclocking available at retail from different brands. There are still differences in performance among boards of the same tier. As a result, ...
According to this, it's an S- tier board
Aka, some of the best VRMs out there
nice dude
How long before "DDR6" RAM comes out? is that even on the table yet?
oh it looks like 2024.
lol DDR5 just released
Yeah I'm just curious about how long it takes for the next gen. I had ddr3 until about a year ago lmao
I did some basic statistics math (primarily because I’m bored). but yeah it looks like DDR6 with release around 2024 or 2025
On avg like 6 years
One out of every like twenty times I boot my pc, the lights and fans and all come on, but the display doesn't come on, bios thing doesn't flash (where it says asrock, and f2/del to access bios)
I have to hold the power button to turn it off, and then when I turn it back on its fine
Anything I should be concerned about?
Goes all the way through post though?
after i turn it off, yes
and back on ofc
when it doesnt post, nothing comes up on the monitor
im assuming its a mobo issue, which would actually be fine since im replacing it later this year
or drive
Updoot bios
kk
Yeah update bios
Reason: Bad word usage
yes these are trash-tier cpus but not sure which out of these variations would be the theoretical "optimal/best"
May I ask why you're considering these?
AM2 Machine I have I'm trying to show a little love
Nothing would be a noticeable increase tbh
It's on a 3600+
so like these would be a notable performance jump from that
I stand by what I said
In numbers, yes
Or did you mean out of those varitations? if so mb
My old laptop with a 4030u is as strong as the 6000+ from what I can tell
It has trouble running minecraft
Actually much stronger multi core
Wait im confused now
One second
Does your board support AM2+?
Highly doubt it
It's the same socket so it would just be a bios update
It's OEM
Do you have a model number for the board? Or at least the PC?
Dell Dimension E521
From what I've seen, no one has used any higher than the 89w variations of the 6000+
Not sure why people stray away from the 125 other than presumption the PSU couldn't handle it/heat but I don't think That'd be that much of a problem? can the CPU Fan even be changed on these? if not I'm sure a slight PSU upgrade would still do just fine? 🤔
Question to someone, recently I need to reinstall windows but don't have aUSB, would I beable to take the ssd out of the pc, plug it into a different pc and install windows 10 setup on it, then move it back to the other pc and have it run fine?
I was gonna upgrade the ram but found the endeavor not to be worth it, I don't even see a reliable place to buy ram for it, either server, sketchy looking sellers that'd take a long time to get here, or just n/a, so least I can do is the cpu
sort of but drivers may be an issue
if it auto installs some
basically the question here is does the .025nm change anything? and is doube L2 cache better or worse than .100mhz
The cooler can't handle 125W and it's not upgradeable
I'd do the third one
Damn
I don't know I've literally been doing heavy compiling with the current cpu and it didn't seem to even be getting that hot but I guess so
I'll take that is x2 L2 is worse, alright, thanks
Those old chips have a max temp around 60C
ohh that makes more sense
very low max temp
best way to install 3 pin RGB fan to 4 pin RG header mobo?
You need an adapter
on what hardware?
That's sus
Rtx 2060 KO
R7 3700x
16 gb corsair rgb ram
b450 ds3h
EVGA GOLD PSU 850 WATT
ROSEWILL ATX BLUE LED CASE
Seagate barracuda hd
Some other ssd i won from robey tech
adata su750 sd
I’m buying a used pc off my friend, what’s a good price for this
Those are good components that can keep up for long time
He wants 900 for them lol
I'd pay probs 700-750
Can buy new stuff for $900
7-750 as already suggested is fair
For $900, you get a 12400f 6650xt build I believe
What you get for $800 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QwrhKp
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
I told him to take his silly games elsewhere
700
dm me the pic or talk till ur name turns green
so i'm looking but build a unraid server and looking at motherboards and found this https://www.newegg.com/p/1JW-00PD-00002?Item=9SIB601HW01072&Description=lga 2011&cm_re=lga_2011-_-9SIB601HW01072-_-Product&cm_sp=SP-_-1167333-_-0-_-2-_-9SIB601HW01072-_-lga 2011-_-2011|lga-_-3
when did x99 support m.2 nvme?
How large of a server
and ssd or hdd
8 8tb with 2 ssd 1tb
You can add whatever as long as you repurpose the pcie lanes. I wouldn’t touch that board with a 10 foot pole tho
you dont need special server hardware then
just a consumer board with 2 m.2 slots
and a sata expansion card
which is pretty cheap too
yeah trying to find it on the cheap dont need a gaming board
But you need lots of data lanes which takes more expensive boards typically
Could probably do a b550/b660 though
I’m sure someone could help you out with a budget and if you’re buying everything or already have certain hardware
got most of it just need a good motherboard cpu for it
eh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hv4m3y id do this
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100
dont i need more ram tho with unraid ?
Yeah I went with an h670 for the extra pcie slot lanes when I needed an expansion card
should be fine on 16 gigs
^^^
can the i3 to handle plex transcoding?
12100 is like a 7700k
heres a sata expansion card
Its more than enough
got an igpu as well to display
ok
no
its quite a bit better at everything
20-30% better multi core and single core
i was looking at the i5-12400f as its cheap
True was more equating it to older i7 performance as in don’t overlook it because it’s I3
i3-12100 is significantly better than i7-7700k
then say that dont say its equal to an exact chip when it isnt
thats just wrong
I swear this is the most argumentative server I’ve ever been on lol
i3-12100 even beats an i7-7800x
i mean if you're going to type wrong information don't act surprised when it gets corrected
Makes incorrect claims
Calls people argumentative when they correct the claims
Yes
If you take it 100% literal yes
...
...? how is cpu performance supposed to be taken any way but literal
hey guys i9-10900K and i9-12900K are basically the same thing why not just spend $600 on an i9-10900K
ah yes, all 4c/8t chips are the same
i7-860 and i3-12300 are the same
Your reading is poor
How about you learn to express yourself better and not say one thing while meaning the other.
Leaving this trash server

mans couldn't just accept that he was spouting misinformation
acting like performance numbers are up to interpretation
that's a new one
He was on vast amounts of copium
bro when i say 7700k i dont mean 7700k i mean all old i7s bro
What's up all
Yo
Waiting on my CPU and Case to arrive to finish building another system
Exciting
Yeah, 4th build in 2 months. Building is too much fun when parts are actually available
Lol. Hopefully your wallet is coping well 😂
LOL yeah my wallet is good. Build to sell.
11400F, NZXT Z490, Corsair Vengeance RAM, H510 Flow, Vetroo V5, H510 Flow, EVGA 750 GT, 970 EVO Plus 1TB
lmao why did bro get so angry
sometimes people just can't accept being wrong
I just meant all old i7s obviously
Looking to somewhat of this build: what u think
Intel i7 core
2x 8g memory ram
Intel motherboard but idk what one
Rtx 2070 graphic card already have
500w-600w power supply
1tb storage as well
Any other idea would be good. Or anything.
Need some advice pls
It's too broad. I7 could be from 10 years ago or 10 months ago
Use PCPartPicker, but what's your budget?
Around 2k
It just a rough idea
He already has the 2070
Aud
Yes, I mean you can literally afford to buy a whole new better GPU, lemme see what I can do
You can get a banging computer for 2000aud
Paid $2700usd for my rig and it's exceeded ym expectations tenfold
Nice
I dont want it to be too expensive but as long i a have deacent computer with that buget ik it will we great
Well your budget will get you 100x better than decent
12700k/f, 32gb ram
probably a 3080
Yea the 2070 i got from someone else becuase they didnt need it i can always upgrade when i need to
GPU prices in Australia are still not great but getting better
@rancid schooner quick 12400 3070 list for reference
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/rszsmr
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
Yea ill use that i am just gathering ideas atm
If 2000aud is budget, you can do a bit better on a bit of everything
Could do 12700 and a better mobo
Could grab a cooler, stock cooler is usable but can be loud
Ill have a think about it. Just for now gathering ideas and advice
Thanks as well for the ideas
You're welcome
@rancid schooner a radeon version if you don't mind ditching ray tracing and are just going for gaming
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/WvHL4s
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Deepcool MATREXX 55 MESH ATX Mid Tower
#peripherals-and-displays is probably more fitting
214xt, it's not much worse than 224
Aside from that, not really
Unless you want to go down to the 550w asus tuf, it'll be fine with the 1080
Bet
Ill probably go for 3060ti or whatever nvidia has in store for budget gamers next gen
I like how the gpu i want is the same price as the rest of my parts combined
😔
4060 will be great
I wouldnt bother getting a psu yet though
4060 won't come 'til February probably
realistically, yeah
^
And its supposed to perform around 3080 level, but nothings guaranteed of course
I can probably cope with the 1650 for a bit but ill most likely pick up something 30 series to hold me off until i can get my hands on a 40 series
6600 $260 looking smexy
Ikr, or 6650xt instead of the 3060
True
I think any 8gb card would be fine ngl
So the total would be $733 before tax with a 6600. not bad
That's more than just the 6600 in that cost right
Yes. Lol
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600
I have a 512gb m.2 ssd already so i'll pass on more storage
Its NVMe at the very least
You could call it that
Probably more of an nvme than the qlc P2... Lol
that ssd is an odd one
Idk. It does what I need it to do
Yeah lol, I find my low end sata ssd fine
Things like my case, gpu, and motherboard don’t do what i need them to do which is to meet my standards… lol
Honestly I'd spend the bit extra for the mag mortar
It's a good bit better of a mobo
i was looking at it but it may not be on sale when i buy
So i just popped the asus back in
Could say the same about the asus one
Eh the asus one usually hovers at the price tho, afaik
130
We will see, the mortar has been at this price for about a month so far last i checked
$130? A few days at the most
Really? The price graphs i saw on pcpp must be incorrect then
Or maybe I am remembering wrong… Most likely that
anyone here know if the 3060 can fit in a phanteks p300
yes
how do you know that
well the p300 can fit most gpus just fine
most?
and it says it can fit 330mm?
yes
Your like if google was a person lol
oh well this ones i think 299mm
so we chilling
@obsidian wigeon so then should i get the p300a for better cooling?
i wanna make sure my pc doesn't overheat
I have the p500a and been EXTREMELY satisfied with it
I'd just get p360a atm
I believe they're very similarly priced
oh
yeah it's literally a $2 difference
already got the case
White P360 is $70 after rebate
bought it november 2021
Oh didn't know you alr had it
It's a fine case, just not good to buy new atm when p360a is essentially the same price.
yep
add some fans and it's better
P12s pog
do i specifically need 3 fans
no
or could i get away with 1
I would get the 3
^
Means one exhaust at the back, two intakes at the front. Or one intake at the front, exhaust at back and the top
idek where i can find a 3 pack
just search arctic p12 and choose the 3 pack
It's $25 for a 5 pack
on amazon
its $49.99 for a 3 pack
Are you in the us?
no
why lol
^ prolly this
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/t7WBD3/arctic-p12-563-cfm-120-mm-fans-5-pack-acfan00135a this would work, if you're fine with spending that much
Otherwise maybe just get two single fans
Or three
Land of the free and home of the undismissible medical debt
Does the p300a support 140mm fans?
Also home of other political things
That i can't specify in this server
lmao
If fal says p300a can support 140mm fans, these would be great https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/rpfhP6/arctic-p14-728-cfm-140-mm-fans-5-pack-acfan00136a
Yes, 2 on front
Ah, sucks just the two
What's a medical debt?
How many 140s can the p360a support?
2 afaik
Right you're too Irish to understand that
Would it be worth getting a 5 pack for it?
Well that answers that
Stock fans and a p12 from my current case it is
And the two p14s for the clc
Is it a new tiktok trend
Wait fal are you gun and cheeseburgerian?
4x 140mm fans max, 2 front, 2 top, rear has to be 120
Cool, thank you
I'll prolly just get the two then, and use the two stock and one p12
thanks bro
free shipping too
Sadly yes, on the golden coast
East coast here
3 actually, one top I missed
Wowww fal, can't believe you
Doesn't p360a have 2 fan slots on top that looks like p300a
They have the p300a
I have p360a
Ahh
2 front, one top
Correct
and that lonely one in the back
Always good to have that back exhaust
imma just buy 3 and not the 5 pack
wait what
Kk, if you're not getting a 3 pack I'd do 1 p14 and 2 p12s
Pffft
ddr5 over pcie
lmao
Ever wondered why you can't just put more memory in your PC, like you can with storage? Well there's a feature coming to the market that lets you do exactly that. CXL is all the rage, and although it's coming to the server market first, one of the features is expandable memory - and lots of it! Imagine 40 TB in a single system - that's what can ...
Not joking
samsung gang
whys that
Woahh DDR5? Back in my day it didn't even exist yet. 🧓
I need help y'all. How idk how to buy a suitable surge protector for my pc.
It's been acting wonky after a short power outage like sometimes it doesn't turn on.
How do I find out how much power an outlet can give me? Cause I'm afraid I might take too much power from one outlet in the surge protector and it might be bad.
Also I have no idea what is joules vs watt vs amps.
But I found out on a website that my computer needs up to 600 watts of power.
And someone told me it might be 5 amps or something.
The Tripp Lite™ 8-Outlet Surge Protector offers complete AC surge suppression for comprehensive system protection of workstations, desktop PCs, telecom systems and other sensitive electronics. Heavy grade AC surge suppression shields connected equipment from damage and performance problems due to...
Just bought this one hopefully it is good. 😭
This is a Fujitsu Siemens Celsius r630, not much special, old 2008? Server
Ma dad wanted to sell it and he asked me to. I saw these are selling for over 5k on eBay, what's special with those? It's just a crappy old server, 2 xeon CPU mono core...
What would be a good price that someone could be interested in? Now I'll tell which components it has
2× xeon 1core 3.6GHz,
Its dual core motherboard with 8 ram slots
4gb ram ddr2 333mhz (4*512mb and 2×1gb)
3×60gb HDDs
Disk/ dvd/ floppy reader
Gt 710 or 730, don't remember exactly
Some more peripherals like PCI cards
- 700w PSU
+Big fat fans
Maybe 500/600?
Nobody selling it for that cheap, only found 1600€ or more (up to 6000)
The bends on the most recent #build-pics are making me sad
Trueeeee they do be a lil sad
Criticisms are how someone can improve, and there’s no rule against criticisms in build pics
PC fans haha

Well they are made to move a lot of air in a relatively high heat environment
That guy seems to just do a little of everything
iirc he did a episode or two where he made craft beer and there were some issues with it imo
If his other work is like the craft beer episode I think he gets some technical stuff wrong as well
What is this video title
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
is that a good build?
Not really
Depends if the parts are bought already or not
But if not bought yet, it's kinda crap
i alr got the cpu motherboard and ram
idk
wb the motherboards
mobo is alright, but 12th gen is better price/perf than amd at the moment
12400f has same perf and is $170
whats the budget for the rest of the build, not including cpu mobo and ram
prolly like 500
does that include the gpu?
not including the gpu
what gpu do you plan to run
well, whats the budget for the gpu then
i would recommend getting different ram
y
It's discontinued so quote hard to find and spendy
can you put a build together for me that with the same mother board but rest different
whats the total budget then, not including motherboard
1000
not including gpu?
including
oh wait, i never asked this: do you live in the US?
im so confused
you said it was 1100 excluding mobo, cpu and ram
now including them it went down?
wat
1 sec
so just make a new build including the mobo and put different ram and cpu the total price will be 1300
ok
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
if you need to spend less, you can switch the psu for the asus tuf 650, and go for a 3070/6750xt
so will it run good??😹
THat's a very solid pc for the price, yes
if going intel, could do a bit better with 12400f but yes
but since you said keep mobo i left it in
can i go for a higher cpu?
5700x, if you want to
but youll want a better cooler
which would be ak620 or clc 280
Prime z690-p memory suggestion?
ddr4 or ddr5
DDR 5. Seems to be limited that are compatible
32gb? Don't pay attention to the compatibility list
Question, could I use my laptop's m.2 ssd with the os and drivers as my ssd in my brand new pc?
Technically yes but it's best to install fresh. It will also deactivate the license unless you're not planning on using the laptop again.
Hopefully someone can help me. So i did a new build. turned it on. its on and all but i cant get anything to show on the screen?
Anyone ever run into a issue where you start your pc, it boots to windows, freezes then restarts?
take a picture of the back of the pc
did you plug monitor cable into the integrated graphics port by accident?
TY. no i forgot to plug the pcu power lol
cpu*
My system blinking indicates non compatible memory.
that's just dead kit
any pc builds for $10 - $25?
are you joking?
Lol
You could a handful of heatsinks
why are you laughing at me?
im not
thanks its still a bit to expensive though I cant afford my dinner for a week if its over $10
I feel like you are though
mr beast did a video where he didnt eat at all for a month what kinda wimp are you
I haven't eaten for just over a month
skill issue
get good
troll better

Do you care about your family?
I care enough to not waste money on 41 steam games if we were short on food
Cant say the same about u

Fr though at least I don't play destiny.
Sucks to be you ig
destiny 2 is also a lot more fun than being a troll
takes some skill too
oh Lord what have I slid back into
trolling has failed
What did I just witness?
imagine trolling

https://www.amazon.com/Mid-Tower-Water-Cooling-Ventilation-Pre-Installed-205M/dp/B08R7S4C3P?th=1 cases similar to this in color and form-factor with better front airflow?
pop air mini is all i can think of
Honestly that might just work, thank you
I specifically wanted to get a really small space, its basically exactly perfectly mATX sized
Also, I know this may sound like a stupid question,
you can ask
But this is my second time having a case, taking the side panel off, and it literally just, shattering, is there any preventative measures I can take or something I'm doing wrong cause 💀 💀
oof
well
try to not put too much pressure on it
i never had the glass side panel break on my case
I’ve seen someone tap a tempered side panel only to have it shatter instantly
lmao
It can happen and it sucks
truly
Less airflow restrictions
More dust
Cleaning isn't hard
I leave my side panel permanently off
Delete case boom best airflow
Prolly gonna have my side panel on when I switch to the p360a though
How do I know what type of ethernet cable I should get?
Does it depend on the modem and my motherboard?
depends on your internet plan
if you have gigabit or less you're good with cat 6
get a case with acrylic panels

true, scratches easier though and is kinda hard to come buy the higher you go in price
side panel off, electric duster once a week gang
L
I use max out the fans on my 5700xt once a week, it stirs everything up, basically a duster
That just pushes dust into the air for you to breathe though
You breathe dust anyways, whatever
Ur probably a mouth breather
not superior nose breather gang
im both thoi ngl
dam bro
I'm an eye breather
damn bro
#builtDifferent
Damn eye breathers, should’ve been ear breathing
That usually means that there's something wrong with your eardrum
I mean if you use a datavac it just sucks up the freed dust. I run an air filter when I clean as well
so ur argument is a datavac sucks?

ill let myself out
anyone got like a relatively cheap 600-900$ pc build? this is for my beach house, my current pc that im using here rn cant even run cs. for games, ideally id be able to run most games? the monitor is 1600x900 however might be upgrading to 1080p. i mainly just play like csgo and then other stupid games but yeah. looks dont matter at all ill be disable any and all rgb as i dont like how it looks.
the only setback is im in canada
so parts would have to be able to be ordered in canada
for reference thats roughly 1-1.1k CAD
budget can be extended i just see no value is spending a ton when the computer will see no use for most of the year and will be used to run basic stuff
Are you fine with building yourself?
yes thats what i meant
i could always go down to like walmart and buy some prebuilt or get one ordered but i enjoy building so id rather do that
Here you go then https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Ntt22m
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
Could wait for some else's list as well, like pato
I'm not super familiar with Canada market so there might be a bit better
apologies since u already made it but is there any chance the case could be smaller
Risen is also big brain
Leave the pato alone hes on vacation this week
Leave the risen alone hes a little brain dead at the moment
thanks man
Is the mb311l small enough?
it doesnt actually have to be tiny, i just dont want a massive case
Ah
So the mb311l is too big?
ah no i wasnt talking about the mb311l
The mx330 is thin, I think its fairly short in length too
im not familiar with that
Dimensions wise the mb311 isnt small. Its pretty large for an matx case, pretty much atx mid tower sizes
Ah
i havent looked at anything involving computers in the last like 6 months
all i care about is keyboards
and even that ive kind of grown disenchanted with
Can you check if the mx330 would fit? Otherwise I'm not sure what case to use
P200a too expensive
They leave quite a bit of space at the top and the psu shroud is big as well
Although top side space makes cpu power connectors a breeze
i just dont want a massive case haha
like at home i have a 4000d and i think that would look bad
yk what maybe im overreacting itll be fine
@frank stirrup how's the evga gm?
That's a mid one right? Low b
Iirc
Also I have to go in three minutes
On my break
Unless asus prime h610 is fine enough
Kk
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
As rawr said, wait for his version
I can't take a look around for a better priced psu or mobo atm, hell see what he can do
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/t7hXnt
I tried my best for a cheap build, tell me if this could be good
You can spend less on storage
And you could also choose a different case, but this one is small, really compact
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
Maybe a 12th gen pc could get expensive for the motherboard
(PSU can be change too)
Should be ≤800$ if you get the best deals
B660 is often under $170 now.
Still a lot, I used a MSI matx board (ddr4 - am4) and it costs about 100$
Well that should, AM4 is pretty old .So, only $20ish more for a "decent" mobo apparently. Good to see at least. (Risen this is CAD before you mention it).
Hopfully someone here can help me, upgraded my mobo and cpu to a 11900k and a asus Maximus hero xiii, formatted all drives and fresh install of windows, issue I keep running into is once my pc boots and gets to my desktop, 10 or so seconds go by and it freezes then black screens and restarts. Anyone have any ideas?

check event viewer
see if you find a BugCheck code or WHEA uncorrectable
Yeah but what's the point after all, he may not even have those prices, am4 still keeps up, also you have to consider he's coming from a pc that looks like to be 15 years old
is the rest of the system known good?
10400f vs 12400f
I know
dont think 10400f is a bottleneck with a 6600
I tried too many times with 12400 and couldn't do it lol
but how's the price of 12100f in comparison?
I think 12100f makes it yes
12100 is significantly better than 10400 in like, every game
@earnest olive I'll try that now
One sec
Yea it does
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
Meh board but it's 12100f so
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
You hav skill issue
huh
i opened pcpp and i have a PM from someone asking to commission a build from me
Sorry bout that im actually a big fan
Should be ok

No
Either way
The evga gm is still 82 innit
It's a normal PSU, 15x18x16 cm or something like that
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
seems like you need to 3d print a bracket for ATX
Still within budget
at 1082 i'd go for a cheap air cooler even if it ends up going a few bucks over 1100
Those sell for 250
Nah canada just weird man
intel stock cooler gets loud on a 12400
cad
Felix how does it feel to get beaten by a person half asleep on the toilet
Ooh
Canada?
💀
400 cad is 310 usd
Nothing. I was also on the toilet

Well we know who's gonna win that battle now
Lmfao
well im sitting at my gaming chair and not contributing much
Lol n00b
Toilet >>>> gaming chair
Yes
real gamers combine both
I want rgb gaming toilet
my ex actually got me an rgb thing for toilets lol
battery powered and has a motion sensor so when you walk in front of it it lights up the toilet
why? i don't know
Bro screw call of duty me and the boys aiming for the center of the bowl instead 💀
