although your psu should be fineeee
C tier is better than a bomb sooo
c-tier with a 1080ti is a little bit sketch
my zotac dual fan 1080ti was drawing 370 watts
undervolted

it was a noise cancelling case with 0 airflow so when i went to clean the dust panel under the psu i almost choked
i took off all the noise cancelling panels and stole some fans from my brother which i slapped onto the case
still looks god awful like it snowed inside it but it works
heres reference
wonderful 🤩
surprised it hasnt exploded yet
That’s nasty
💀
Leaf blower
i
💩
uh
Lick it
:)
Lick the dust off ez
your PC is covered in dead skin
Mind cleaning it
i can ry
today is care for your pc day did you know
i have no air
how are you breathing
no like pressurized air
use some wet wipes lol
that work too
ive been using tissues
i used a hair dryer for mine
alright I gotta dip now byebye
Bye
bc im lazy and it hasnt fumed yet
the important parts arent that dirty tho
like the gpu is alright and we dont talk about the stock intel cooler ok
i dont condone of used pc slander
indeed
the case is a fractal define r4
with metal sidepanel lmao
the amount of research i had to do to figure that out
how many case fans
2
heh same
i count on passive exhaust and the hopes and dreams of the p
pc
and if that doesnt work
then i guess it goes boom
but it ran black desert pretty well so im not complaining
me too
my pc very sad

- Running a seperate internet plan to avoid data limits (even though I pay for unlimited) and to avoid ping lag on games that kick for ping around 100-150.
- to stream/record 2 pcs to one without adding strain to my pc.
- I just genuinely like dual pc builds, It feels comforting to me as you can have a build on either side of a desk and it would be symmetrical (I got problems, I know)
also I have a question for anyone. can you connect a pc to a home server and internet if you have dual lan ports?
1, that would be ridiculous, it will use a small bit of upload to stream but just increase your current plan that gives you more upload if necessary although i literally have 12mbps upload and 0 problems & ping is basically only how close you are to the game server.
2, using nvenc/amd encoding is not noticeable on impact on fps/stream quality
and yes you can connect a pc to a server and internet
to 1. I know, but when I start streaming tarkov my ping goes from 35-60 to 135-150 and gets me kicked out of servers. I dont live close enough to get fiber, I have DSL.
- I have tried nvenc and CPU encoding on my pc, both cant stream/record and play a game at the same time.
and when I say home server. I am talking about like a central storage server. We would also like to be able to have cameras save recordings to that server and want to figure out a way to access the server from any computer in the house, where ever it be
like I said before, technology interests me greatly but I am slow to comprehend and its hard to figure things out. So I seek help to make sure it is even possible before attemtping
1, whats your plan and who are you with? who are the other options in your area?
2. so you should know that nvenc is amazing basically 0 fps decrease and amazing stream quality unless you are talking about an older series nvenc like 1000 series or especially 9000 series, cpu encoding requires like 12 cores to be decent and game lol
and yes you can do that with the server
no problem we all learn at different rates and thats why we are here to help educate others
Any Z690 mobo deal ?
I need one with 4x m2 slot

so I have the best and almost only provider in my area, they are basically extorting customers for any server at all, and we only get like 40-50% uptime on the service.
we have tried satelite and it was too high latency for gaming.
I am using a 1060 3gb card, I used it before with a terrible cpu and 8gb ddr3 ram and was able to stream tarkov at a decent quality just fine. now I cant even record minecraft without the recording/stream dropping 20-30 frames consistently.
I pay for 50mbs unlimited here
once I move, which is where we will have the server and probably stream pc setup then. at&t provides gig residential or 5gig business. we arent sure how good att internet is but we have used their phones before and it wasnt bad
B660 with 2xm2 is not being enough anymore
why so many M.2?

are they really that different? I have stuck with 2.5 inch ssd for the last 6 years no problem from em
Newegg site has em new for $400 and used for $470, incase you want to pay extra for the miles it has I guess. I dont know if that is normal price though
what cpu?
bruh
12600k
I think he is looking for 4 slots
Not a gen 4 slot
Lol
Rip
Does anyone know of any entertainment centers that are big enough to fit a full atx pc in like one of the doors
Looks like 4 slot lol
Let me check
Sounds like you just need a better cpu, ram and gpu
Dumbest board kek
that was my old system
xD yea
I currently have 3900x 32gb 3600mhz and a 1060 3gb
^
@ornate condor https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GvmmP6/msi-pro-z690-a-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z690-a-ddr4
pog so it does check for nvme compatibility
cool
Get a 20 series or 30 series gpu and probs will be fixed by new nvenc
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144504?Item=N82E16813144504&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-13-144-504-_-05022022 yeah looks like it does have 4x m2 slot but I have to check manual to see if all of them are working together
And if they leaving me at least one sata port lol
why do you need all of them to be m.2 drives
Use an x4 riser for an extra drive
why not do 1 nvme and a big sata
4tb ssd price = 3x 2tb ssd price
If that board can bifurcate, get a dual m.2 card for the x8 slot
2tb sata drives
870 evo
I have to upgrade my mobo anyways couse B660M mobo sux
Ewww 500mbps
Why not 5000mbps
what are you going to do that exceeds that
and what do you do to need 8tb of ssd storage too lol
run benchmarks and flex scores

i have a terrible sata ssd (cs900) and a 660p
the only difference i notice is like 10 second boot time
I just realized I have lots of SSDs already and ordered 4 of them lol
Probably gonna get rid of slow ones
2x 2tb crucial p5
2TB XPG S70 Blade
2TB T-force Cardea A440

Gonna use those 2 crucial for backup and another 2 as main
Is this a joke?
but why
whats the point
More storage
I do have lots of files and I always keeping backup

Storage drives always can fail
mans downloaded the entire internet on ssds
downloaded 30 tb of bean emojis
Nah get PCIe to M.2 adapters
You got all these PCIe lanes from your chipset, why not use them all?
🤔
Does the corsair cxm series not have a cpu cable for the psu
I have two pcie cables
That's all
It has a 8 pin cpu cable
It should be labeled "CPU" on an end
4+4 8pin is cpu and 6+2 8 pin is pcie ( gpu)
those are molex cables
Is isn't already plugged into the PSU?
Yeah should be a separate cable actually
Maybe Corsair forgot to send it with the cxm
there should be some which looks limilar to them but instead of 6+2 theyre 4+4.
wait I do see some cables connected to psu at backround lol
For cxm it's a separate cable
Unless they already plugged it in
Oh wait that it's the CPU cable
@wary tundra its already on the psu
Not that one
See the thicc snake looking cable?
That's the 24 pin Mobo
In the same hole, cause semi mod, is the CPU power
It's just a smaller braided cable
is it possible to connect pcie to cpu by accident ?
never tried it lol
Youd probs break the board first
Y'know what would happen if they didn't key it lol
Ppl would be frying boards and CPUs and gpus all over
Ye
imagine putting cpu power to your white strix 3090 by accident
Sounds like some @earnest olive would do

can i have build list for $1300
do you live in the US?
us yes
aight give me a few min
Thank you
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
Why mobos with thunderbolt output is that expensive
Thanks
I would like to say that I have almost have all my parts for my pc
all i need now is the new case and the graphics card
cooler master td500 mesh white

I like that case
As gpu you have to camp lil bit for get it for good price
its already in psu
the cpu cable
what is your cpu frequency?
and what cpu is it
How do I make it stop?
i mean you could lock it down in bios and lose the perf
not sure of the easiest way, probably windows power plan too
Normally you don't want it to
Okay thank you
It's not my pc I just don't want his pc to overheat
I thought I did something wrong
It's load temps that matter, if that's idle it's not a big deal
Stock cooler is ok but it needs good airflow too
It's probably hanging around 90C right?
What frequency does it drop to under load?
70C is totally fine
70c is actually really good for a 5600x with a stock cooler lol
Could be a driver issue
@fossil cedar I fixed the dropped frame issue for now.
turns out nvenc new isnt meant for 10 series, but nvenc is......
I guess that mattered
everyone always told me to use nvenc new but at least I solved 1 of many
It appears elden ring is the only game making it crash
Everything else is working and Temps are Low
what gpu?
Definitely drivers then
3070
id update gpu drivers
Did that and elden ring still doesn't work
Idk what else is wrong
Anything visually stands out?
Well that is still a pretty new game.
What graphics settings is it on?
this prolly isnt the issue
but which slots is that ram in?
should be 2nd and 4th
It is
He be doing it
alr
Every game so far is running fine
Idk I got free food for building it so my work is done
Hey so I have a ryzen 3 3200g a ryzen 5 1400 a Rx570 and a Gtx970. What would be the best combination of these parts?
sell them all and pick up an i3-12100 and 3050/1660S/1070
I already have an AM4 motherboard so I dont want to switch from AMD
How would a r5 5500 and a 1070 do?
if you're not willing to move up to a 5600, sell the am4 board
r5 5500 loses to the i3-12100 while costing significantly more
and i am morally obligated to not recommend that piece of ewaste, am4 board or not
The 5600 is like $30 more so I should be able to jump up to it and I can get a 980ti from ebay for a little cheaper than a 1070
r/hardwareswap generally has much better deals than ebay
Which board exactly? If you have parts that old your board might not even support newer CPUs
Asrock b450m pro4
I got the stuff you picked for me
You can DM the pic to me and I'll put it up
good enough for a 5600
If I have a 4TB HDD already would a 512gb SSD be enough?
Plenty
I was thinking of getting a 1tb but I assume 4TB is already too much
you're the only one who can tell how much storage you need
for some people 256gb is enough
for some people 100tb isn't enough
Fair enough
Need to have bios version P5.30 and this will make it so you can't use any CPU older than 3000 series on the board.
You also might need to update the bios incrementally. What version is it on right now?
For the newer 5000 series stuff that is
Im not sure i havent updated since I got it and I dont know how to check
If you boot it into the bios it'll say
Might work for asrock but doesn't for my MSI, the version number is incomplete
I have bios p4.60
are anything zotac branded gpu wises bad?
i have an asrock board so
they're okay really
Zotac is pretty average, nothing great but nothing too terrible, except when they forgot thermal pads on 3080+
will check my msi laptop after this lol
cad has dropped crazy amounts for 70ti's so i'm thinking of grabbing one of those for close to the same price i got my 60ti for
Get Amplified with the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 Series based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture. Built with enhanced RT Cores and Tensor Cores, new streaming multiprocessors, and superfast GDDR6X memory, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Trinity OC gives rise to smooth and high-fidelity gami...
You can go straight to the newest version then, which is from October https://download.asrock.com/BIOS/AM4/B450M Pro4(5.30)ROM.zip
which is why i asked
forgetting thermal pads is def not okay for gaming either
you can game fine on bad thermal pads
but NO thermal pads is quite a different story
That's really not bad for cad at all
Mine just says A.K5
that is very strange
It's missing the first 4 digits
doesn't even look like an msi bios version lol
It's correct for the last 3 digits at least lol
How do I install it?
It's a beta version
Extract the zip to a USB drive and update from inside bios
bios 320 will be my last update for the lifetime of this laptop though
bios 321 removes cpu overclocking capabilities
Yikes
big yikes indeed
it's a shame, the 11800H is so powerful when you let it hit its full potential
did you see my 11800H is now beating my 5800X in time spy?
msi trying to block laptops from ocing
after i improved my laptop ram oc
shame on them
pretty sure the orders come from intel here lol
it's not a K SKU
look at that cpu score
My issue is they only have the latest beta version listed and not the 20 previous beta versions. The last official version from June 2020 doesn't support 5000 series.
My fclk won't stabilize above 1800 now and I need to roll back but I can't find the previous version...
try finding it online
msi removed bios 320 from the site
had to find it online
was a little bit sus of flashing a bios from online but it works fine
I could only find the "MAX" version, which has the larger rom
Those max boards are pretty nice though, wish I'd gotten that one. Every AM4 CPU supported by the same bios version.
I'll check wayback, that's a good idea
hmm found a bios from 2021 may
7B84vAD
supports 5000 series but it's an older agesa 1.2.0.2
If you meant that for me, it's the wrong model
It is
yeah i found it for that
Yep. Thanks MSI.
X470 GAMING PLUS gaming motherboard supports AMD® RYZEN™ processors and AMD® A-series / Athlon™ processors for socket AM4; DDR4 Boost with Steel Armor gives your DDR4 memory a performance boost; supports DDR4-3466+(OC) Memory
That one's mine
oh
talking about bios
No I tried that one
i messed up my laptop by modding its bios and ignoring an error it gave me
K3? K2?
None of the AK ones work
then i sent it to a shop to reflash stock bios, and they flashed first version of the bios that doesn't support its soldered ram
so they thought a stick was defective
what version do you need?
when it's just bios being too old
It's probably AJ something I need but I'm not sure
tried everything from J1 to J5 and none worked
The compatibility list is useless too, just says "latest beta bios"
dunno, you can try these
if J exists they've taken it down completely
and H is all the way from 2020 so probably not those
7B79vAK1 was released december 22 2020 and appears to be the first zen 3 compatible bios
so whichever version you're looking for is probably in here
I'll give AK3 a go since I know AK4 didn't work. There was a feature they added that I wanted, that's why I updated...
K1 didn't come out long after H, so they probably skipped J
And "I" apparently
good luck, hope you find the right one
lol yeah who knows why
it's gotta be one of those 3 bios i think
Because why should things make sense?
1 2 3
Is $125 for a r5 3600 good?
Buying from the manufacturer? Totally valid, they've had good prices recently. Check EVGA also.
It's not bad but I'd hesitate to call it good
seen better recently for sure
saw a 3600x go for 110 and a 3600x + b450 go for 135
AK3 still WHEAs, trying AK2
good luck
Ok thx
EVGA support is not good in the Middle East (To my knowledge)
Ah I see, yes that changes a few things
Don't need a case
(I might actually build one, but idk)
Anyone around for a quick part swap question
Thinking of swapping my ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 420 for a MSI - MAG CORELIQUID 240R V2. The ARCTIC is a bit to big with the three fans with the build im doing thinking of switching
Thanks for the help @earnest olive it looks like I'm stable at 1900 again. Now to drop timings.
Yep
I even found an old zentimings screenshot and it says AK2 on it so that's the one I had before alright
Doubtful. I'd bet more on them dropping support for AM4 entirely next year lol
ah yes, new bios version somehow applies heat in the socket in just the right way to warp it into an FM2 socket
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4LLcH2 what are your thoughts about this?
PSU could go to enermax revolution df 850 for cheaper price
Plus, an ak620 is about dark rock pro 4 performance for 2/3 the price
Would also be highly worthwhile looking in to 12700f and b660, since it's much cheaper
Overclocking really doesn't give much added performance these days in most tasks
Tru but the b660 doesn’t have bios flash @desert gulch
Doesn't need it
B660 will work with the 12700(k)(f) out of the box
And some b660 have bios flash iirc
why would you need bios flash anyways
It’s the current gen for the boards
It’s not like you can use previous gen with b660
Unless you manage to bork a bios or kill a CPU and need to upgrade, it's not really useful on a b660
And if you ever upgraded and the cpu wasn’t compatible with the bios but somehow still compatible with the board you can use the cpu you already have
so basically you don’t need flashback
But not in b660
amd people always buying refreshed cpus with no support… smh
Lol
But you think the msi b660 tomahawk is a good board?
Yes it’s fine
Doesn’t the z690 have more features?
CPU multiplier settings
Not really missing out on much with a b660/h670
H670 is nice
Yea
It’s not a bad price rn either
Overlooking
what
Don't ask me idk
over looking
That's great
what's a daisy chain on lian li fans
They connect to each other so you only need one header
Unless you're talking about the uni fans, those are different
So yes the uni fans
They slot into each other
Then the one on the end connects to a controller
Out of which options? Just the SL120 and SL140?
no like between the daisy stuff
If you get the 3 pack they come with a controller, idk what you mean
No reason not the get the daisy chain imo
i'm going to put this on the bottom and top of my o11
so daisy chain is like all 3 of them glued basically
and the other one is 3 separate fans
i have no clue
rn
🤣
so wait the top and bottom one is the same thing why are they differently priced
Different sellers maybe
SL120 is SL120
Both of your pictures also say daisy chain
that's probably it
what are some good mid atx cases
P400a and 4000D airflow are usually recommended, best price/performance
I'm not 100% on what it looks like but it should say in the manual, where it describes the parts. Then you'll look for that bracket.
when did u buy it?
yesterday
should have the bracket then
Does the 212 cooler master come with a 1700 bracket
Think I’ve red somewhere it does
Not sure tho
It should but unless it's cheaper than gammaxx 400 where you live, don't get it
^
Lian LI lancool 2 mesh is great as well
Haven't seen it at a good price in a while but lian li 215 has been
I'd do 3080 12gb for 1k
3080 ti is maybe 3% better
Not worth $200
Also, do you plan to overclock the cpu?
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
@mossy venture probably not just because I don’t want any unwanted issues to pop up
@fossil cedar that actually looks really good
3080 10gb or 12gb isn't gonna cause any issues over the 3080 ti
Thanks 🙂
When do Arctic liquid freezers restock
They're in stock
Then you can do a 12700f and b660
Performs exactly the same as a 12700k
After you unlock power*
Sure some of the non rgb are oos but here, at least one variant of each size is
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu-cooler/#m=77&W=10240,10280,10360
Choose A CPU Cooler
I want a non rgb 360
But those are out of stock
Or at least when I look them up
You can get an rgb one and not plug in the rgb?
Or probably set the rgb to black?
I mean I could
What is the difference between A RGB and RGB because A RGB is 32 dollars more
argb is individual LEDS on the fan compared to just one colour of LED iirc
both of them have individual leds
the difference is that argb can send a different signal to each led
while rgb can only send the same signal to every led
@rugged sparrow@fossil cedar
ahh right this is why i dont touch rgb with a 10 ft pole lol
yeah, rgb fans in my experience are also really hit and miss with being able to reproduce white accurately
while argb is usually better at that
I’ll probably just go for the regular RGB because I don’t think A RGB is worth 32 more dollars
My aorus 3080 no screen
No power input lights
Non of power input lights coming up
Oh wait shouldn't be up when power plugged in
So everything powering up but no screen
is anything else coming on?
psu switched on and plugged in fully?
pcie power plugged in fully in the psu and gpu?
Yeah everything is working but no screen
gpu fans arent spinning?
Yes screen on gpu working too
I mean it was working but suddenly gone
I tried it on another pc but same
Looks like it's gone
Aorus built in screen? Try downloading gigabyte center as well as rgb fusion
Rgb fusion is missing some weird dependency for it missing
No screen at all
Gpu is gone
No display like?
Yup
Ohh
Rip
Tried different port/monitor/cable?
thought you meant the GPU lcd
@ornate condor ^
Yup
Nothing
Looks like rma time
Vga debug light is on at mobo too . Probably something wrong with gpu
Rip, could be another case of gigglebyte pritt stick capacitors
gigabyte rma is also sux
you probably replaced all the capacitors with beans

War beans
it's time to look for another white strix gpu
I just realized it is still in 90day period
Can I return it to newegg ? 🤔
possibly
nvm this item has 30day return
it going to rma
sadly I sold my backup gpu couse prices going down and 40 series coming soon
just game on that then
I dont want to mix it up couse storage turning to trashcan lol but yeah I don't want to buy gpu right now couse prices going down and 40 series on the way
12900k with 3090 build is my work pc and I dont want to fill it with games . couse I don't doing my job and just gaming lol
get an external nvme enclosure
plug in game drive externally
remove when working
my bean gif on aorus screen gone
hello I just finished this PC I might get for my first PC. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Zimboiscoolio/saved/#view=JD9t3C
Saved Part Lists
can you guys check it out and see if everything would work/if its good
would not recommend
whats your budget?
$800?
800-850
System Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
id try to stretch it for 12400f tho
Yep, even the full 12400 is $170 recently
went back up to 190 earlier
oh and its cheaper!
unless its back down
nvm back down to 170
if you could, id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hjL4Mb
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Radeon RX 6600, Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
cpu will age a good bit better
worth the extra price imo
Isn't cx550f same price?
Ye
Some gpp is good but there's numerous known variations you can get off a singular listing
Was talking with Luke about it
not shwoing properly for some reason
Post a pic of it in #build-pics when you're done if you want, we love seeing people's builds
No we don’t
😂
is a asus rog strix b660a good for an i7-12700k
ye but i already have the cpu
ah
yes sir
as for the mobo, it'll do just fine
Idk, but might well spend similar price on a z690 mobo, if only for extra pcie lanes and such
i need a white mobo as well
eh 12700k won't be oc'd on that board anyway cause it's a b660
vrms won't be a problem
as long as there's enough airflow
Amd or intel
for?
Cpu
intel
o11 is a decent choice
i think you mispelled "cringe and cliche"
Not price wise + it's drr5 only
Atm intel 12th gen unless you already have a capable motherboard upgrading from ryzen already then get ryzen 5000
ddr4
Ah okay there's 1 ddr4 version but it's stupid overpriced
I can’t get my cpu out it’s just stuck and I don’t really wanna use brute force any tips?
Try just wiggle it a little while pulling up
the tension arm doesn’t look to be open enough. it should be lifted all the way
Could someone help me get a good 3060ti prebuilt max budget of $2000 games are gta 5, warzone, 2k, forza, apex, valorant, fortnite, teardown
What country? And 2k will get you plenty more if you're in the us, ~1.2k will get a nice 3060 ti prebuilt
Us and I was thinking around $1500 but I didn't know
The one i was thinking about has gone off sale but if you don't mind open box
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali605-master/p/N82E16883360270R
Or
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali479-gladiator/p/N82E16883360074R
If you don't want open box
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali565/p/N82E16883360195
I've heard bad things about open box is that true?
Open box means someone ordered it, but returned it because they changed their mind, and everything is still working
Seen videos of bad things about it same thing with newegg so I'm like so confused
Yeah they've fixed it now anyway, gamers nexus had a whole thing with them and they changed their policies
Up to you tho
Is it worth paying more for the 3070
If you were going open box it's up to you both are good prices, 3070 is about 10% better than 3060 ti so it's really up to you
I would try to go open box but still not %100 sure it's a better deal but also I know nothing about fixing a pc
The pc isn't broken tho, someone just decided they didn't want it and returned it, if anything happened you can try troubleshoot or you can just return it if it's in return period - advantages of a prebuilt
I'll keep comparing thank you for giving your opinion I appreciate it
No problem
pato smart. his opinion is fact
Pato fact. his opinion is smart.
My bean gif on aorus screen gone to rma
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LBZyKp @fossil cedar i wanted to ask a while ago and forgot why you put OC cpu with non OC board
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
12600k has the extra 4 e cores, 12600 and the other i5s don't
Yeah
Although I'd change it to this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gG2Wtn
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
hm
I mean you can go 360 rad if you want but price has gone up and 280 is almost as good just would top mount instead
Woops ignore 2nd ssd

System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
@fossil cedar bruh like $130 for an AIO is cheap like i saw other aios that go for like $200-$300 plus artic is good
Yessir, 150 is for the 360 but 120 is the 280
unless you don't care about rgb, then the 360 is 120
9% better cpu gaming perf for over 50% extra cost?
At that point, if looking for better multicore perf for other things, 12700f is where its at
It's not all about the benchmark when nothings open scores but 12700f is another option, k is cheaper tho and comes with an igpu
im not talking about benches
im talking abuot gaming fps averaged
also 12700f still showing a good bit cheaper for me
Yes but those are measured as benchmarks like on clean test benches with nothing in the background
12700f isn't cheaper than 12600k is it??
Mo it's 40$ more
still accurate of what youll see in real life
Ehhh with the higher end chips pretty accurate yeah but with chips like 12100-12600(non k) it's a bit more iffy
if i got a 12600k and i was gaming, id just disable the e cores tbh
Thoughts on the 420 rad
Not too much better than 360 but if your case fits it sure
well ig if you wanted to have a bunch of crap open in the background, you could leave e cores on
or streaming or whatever
but they really dont do much for gaming
Most people do
their core latency kinda sucks, like really sucks
That's why they're used for things like discord Chrome etc
No sir if you got a 12600k in this case ud be wasting money
is the DRM issue fixed yet?
since the 12400f exists
exactly
thats why id just save $100 and get a 12400
why bother with DRM issues too
some games wouldnt even work
Long gone afaik
cause they couldnt deal with two types of cores
thats good then
id only really use those e cores for good multicore or having a ton of crap open
and usb devices wouldnty even work on zen 3
Actually that was an x570 issue not zen 3
was on b550 and stuff too afaik
I wouldnt get zen 3 today too tbh, unless i was going for a apu build or a mini itx build. For the value
I think maybe the odd b550 but it was rare
What would look better black sleeved cables or a vertical gpu mount with my pc?
blue
white
fan color
Blue what?
If I get blue sleeved cables then they will only match with blue rgb, if I get black sleeved cables then they will match with all colors of rgb
your fans are blue
Yes, and?
nothing
Oh OK, I thought you were going somewhere with that comment. 🤔
going blue
nope
An actual decent power supply is what you should be spending your money on
It's fine but it's c tier, kinda low end components, functional because you have an 850w with only a 3060 but if you had a more powerful gpu that would be a problem point imo and if you were spending money on your pc that would be the place to put it
Iirc gn tested it and it had all working protections, so that's a good start
They did? That's good
Does anyone know if this case: https://www.newegg.com/space-gray-thermaltake-core-p-series-atx-open-frame-chassis/p/N82E16811133153?Item=9SIA8EFHUZ6859 can handle two separate radiators rather can just one radiator? Wondering if the screws will be slightly off
Looks like there's only room for one
Hey I’d like some opinions, I’m interested in a 2080 Super Gigabtye WB issue is I’ve never custom looped anything and have no idea how much extra it would cost. (When I mean extra I mean like buying the tubes, fittings, water reservoir, radiator and more idk) I was wondering if at all possible I could get an estimation on how much all that would cost lol
Since the GPU already has a block that saves you about $150, but the rest of the loop will still cost around $400 minimum
And if I were to watercool cpu
W a block? Would that be cheaper than getting a regular cooler?
Add another $150 for the block and fittings
And if you loop a GPU and CPU together you'll want a bigger radiator too, increasing the rest of the loop's cost
Custom loops get expensive fast
What pump/res should I get
That depends on your case and aesthetic preferences
Something with a D5 pump probably at least
That's just the pump model, lots of brands use the same one
Oh alright
just get an air cooled 3080 for the same price @buoyant patrol
doesn't make any sense to custom loop a card that isn't flagship tier
unless you will die if PC volume exceeds 35 dba
custom loop adds so much system cost that you're better off just buying a better card unless there's no better cards to buy
and it doesn't matter how much you overclock that 2080 super on water, it's not coming close to air cooled 3080 performance
3080 is like 50% higher performance
white strix 3080 is 150% lol
That's why it costs so much more
Yes but also no
what i5 are you talking about
At the time it seemed a bit more reasonable I got a guy tryna sell me that card for 350$ so just wanted to see if it would be profitable
I think ima just say no and get a 3060ti
still comparing it to a 3070-3080 after factoring in loop cost
not worth buying used waterblocked cards if you have to build a new loop for them
can be worth if you already have a loop
brb buying a wb gt710
A 710 could probably just have a small reservoir of water on the block with a heatsink. Boom, liquid cooled.
no
Passively at that
i need to mount a lf2 420 to it
Eh that's not very feasible tbh
I still want everything to fit in my eatx case with a fx and gt710
FX 4100 of course right?
9350 would like a word
Because clock speed after oc > architecture, amount of cores, etc
Well if it's max clock speed you're after you want a 6300
I also see 8150s getting higher than 8370s
Bro I’m so dumb I was installing my 12600k and I was going to get my thermal paste and I didn’t know I used all of it
Personally nearest best buy would be $10 in gas for my truck, lol. Went there for a store pickup recently but it was the same day as seeing a movie w/ a "free" giftcard.
Hey one of yall super amazing intelligent people im looking for a like sub 900 gaming pc prebuilt or a pc part picker list?!?!?!?
What games do you play and at what res?
1080 and pretty easy games like valo minecraft etc
Also what settings would you like to play on
Do you have any parts already, like an old hard drive or anything?
nah completely new and with easy games i think mid-high settings
Also when i was doing a test boot idk if the aorus light is supposed to light up but it wasn’t
System Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3060, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
oh mx330-g air is back in stock
nice
@potent portal the psu is c tier
segotep gp 600w is $50 and B tier
Modular. And not ketchup and mustard.
Personal preference I guess.
eh yeah ig
isnt cxf modular and $45 rn?
pcpp says $65 for me
yeah, i see that too
Oh mail in rebate
I think I bent a few pins
nah, looks fine
Yeah should be good to go
Ok
And if you see a few sparks that's normal
Good enough
Good aios
Ha
Gottem
Hahahaha

yo
should i start to build my pc with my current p400a or wait for my o11 till monday
is it hard bulding a pc?
cause i don't feel like waiting 😂
if you already bought the o11 why would you build it in your p400a

also what do i clear to make link small
I would spend extra and grab a x300 4tb but meh
Everything from the "ref" onwards
well it will be just for games
still thinking about getting the Lian-Li LANCOOL mark 3 or Corsair 678C
Lancool mk3 is about to release, while 678C is barely have stock
this is Lancool 3 layout
yes but 7200rpm
yea i see that
well
x300 4TB 7200RPM $104
seagate 4TB 5400RPM $67
seagate 2TB 7200RPM $47
well what about just buying 2TB hard drives 7200RPM
Random question, anyone found themselves gravitating towards a really nice air-cooled build after going custom loop?
Kinda wanna to air-cooled ITX next-gen ngl
Air cooled king 😎
Eh, I'd say skip the 2TB. Mainly decide whether $100ish or $67 effects the decision. X300 is definitely a good hdd.
well i had both and they both worked for me
If you're going a high end cpu you can't really air cool it if you want to get maximum perf out of it, especially with an itx air cooler btw, maybe just go air gpu + aio cpu
Will this build work....
Rosewill ATX Mid Tower, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-I 12 GEN RTX 3050 Intel i7-12700k 12 GEN LGA 1700
Yes but don't, what's your country, budget, use for the pc and have you bought anything yet?
I got a 6900xt with an aio and i dont know if it should be intake or exhaust
Depends where you mount the aio
Have it there and the fans were premounted but im not sure if thats the best way to have it
Swap the fans so they can be intake
Theyre routed thru one the of tubes
Then just turn the rad around
Tubes
If you can
Its all preassembled
Would i be able to just flip the fan ?
Well would you suggest to try that?
Oh actually yeah flipping the fans shouldn't be hard
Ill try that here in a minute
My gpu temps were lower but my cpu temps did get a bit higher so im guessing it was the airflow changed
Toxic card 😯
lol it's so weird seeing a gpu with a 360mm aio and then a stock cooler
Wtf is that
It works but it's stupid to do
I wouldnt buy or build that
pairing a 3050 with a 12700K is like buying a ferrari and then putting square wheels on it
And the Rosewill case is like putting clamps on the square wheels xD
banned for slandering newegg brand
Smh
Not sure if build chat is the right place but how in the world do courts display to so many monitors at once? I recently seen one that had 10 displays at once and that was only what was visible
Wait there is a 3050 now? How good is it?
Worse than 2060 by a little bit
it's 2022, you can drive 8 monitors with a single consumer gaming graphics card + igpu
if you grab like 6 4x hdmi gt 710s you can power 28 displays with one pc
Wtf? Wonder how many pcie slots you would need
6
Wait nvm 6 slots, how many lanes though? 4x?
when you use an hdmi slitter, does it add the strain of the extra pixels to the gpu? (in other words does 1 output slip into 2 count as 2 towards the gpus max pixels?)
ok, wondering because some of our monitors will be duplicated displays and if we didnt need to run extra gpus or anything for nothing, that would be great
now he said gt 710s, will these be capable of rendering say obs window so we can see what is being recorded/streamed? We do have a few extra rx570s laying around
Wait nvm, having both amd and nvidia drivers will probably be very bad, i don’t like amd drivers anyway
Yeah hdmi duplicators just pass on the signal no need to use up valuable ports for that
Nah should be fine and amd drivers are just as good
gt 710 can happily run on 1x
so realistically you can run 28 displays with a standard atx mid tower and consumer motherboard
im not entirely sure how realistic our goal is to be honest with you.
capture cards aside, just monitors.
3 of the gaming pcs with run 3-4 displays with the main display being duplicated.
1 of them will have 6-8 displays with the main display being duplicated.
on top of that. the stream pc will have probably 4 duplicated displays along with 1 separate display.
if you get into capture cards. we are planning to have all 4 gaming pcs captured by the stream pc. Note, these "Gaming pcs" are running 1060 3gbs, 3 of them have i5 4570s and ddr3. not really a high tier machine, but it gets the job done.
This probably seems far fetched and unexplored. if that is the case, I guess trial and error is how it will go.
