Yes the Z690. I bought the Tomahawk first, but won the MSI board in the Newegg Shuffle so I got it too in case I could get some decent performance out of it. Figured I could sell the ram and wait for timings to improve, then swap it out.

only splitters you might need are for fans/rgb headers if you’re not using a hub
but if you’re not using a lot of fans (more or less more than 6) than you should be fine, but always check the connections on your mobo

It could charge in reverse if it's running and using more power than the power supply can give. But really as long as the voltage and polarity are the same you can use any charger that fits.

Try connecting the pc directly to the wall and see if you still have issues. If they stop, you have a bad power bar. If they don't, it could be a bad ground on the outlet or the breaker.
This could also be the cause of the monitor issues

If the power bar is bad and interrupts the power, the monitor with its smaller capacitors will be more sensitive than the pc with bigger ones

As far as cores and threads, 11700k is 8c/16t while 12700k is 12c/20t. The extra 4 "E-cores" are mostly for low power or background tasks.
12th gen also has a huge boost in ipc for much better gaming performance overall.

Sounds like a power issue. Try doing a full power drain by unplugging, holding power button 10 seconds, then wait 5-10 minutes. Then you can plug in and try to power on again.

you can force it to not reinstall the driver, but that's likely to cause more problems
