gotcha
If not top + side/back, we're aiming for top + front rad.
yeup
The last three things I found were ppl selling z-type Motherboards. lemme bring them up
I was just browsing, this was the first thing I saw with a 240 capable rear.
Z590 isn't 12 gen. I have 1 for sale... (just an fyi)
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/489919975411338/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Abba3e018-3f41-4c29-8b74-eb154782537e First mobo is a Msi mpg z390
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.

See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
only z690 will be compatible with the cpu you have
this would be the only one that works
If you don’t mind the price that case will work
is it worth it to rethink the cpu if it means better performace from the other two?
that cpu is the latest gen
Z390 is like 2017 & z590 is now last gen
do z690/b660/h670 only
so no that cpu is fine
The only compatible mobo is arlight then? I should bring up the pcpp list one last time
the MSI Z690-A
yeah i forgot about h670 mobos as well
I'm seeing if microcenter has other ideas. There's one here in Denver.
Z690>h670>b660, but the 670 stuff is super rare still. I know, it's confusing.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XYwcC6 this is all the new stuff to finish the build so far; excluding my seagate and Ripjaw ram
Check out thermaltake level 20 also
Oh and you guys could hold on to the other links if you or somebody else needs them. Im not sure if it works that way, but I want the searching to be a bit easier for the next person
if anything just go for the z690
but get more pics from that guy that was selling
alright
$180 is a good price. Build looks good. Glance at the P360A or P400A if you feel like it. P400a is $75 just so ya know.
I had it for a few days
. My build is on hold so I sent it back for now. Got a refund 1 hour after it was at ups.
I sent a message asking if its still avaliable, and for some pictures of it
might have to get back to you tomorrow on that then if these are the last two things I need
the digital version of the p400a has 3 case fans with it btw
If it(FB mobo) turns out actually new, I'd buy it.
I can see the horizon im... ALMOST. THERE.
Atom, I happened to buy 6 P12 fans
lol
i'm gonna shoot a message for this one while i'm still awake
alright
take a look at the p400a digital
costs 90 bucks rn
comes with 3 front fans
talking to me right? just checking
ye
Non-digital is 75 but 2 fans incl. I felt like trying the Arctics anyways. My old CM fans are a bit loud. Could buy a single P12 for $7ish
I'm also thinking how the colors would work. i got white fans and it comes with fans, the mobo and gpu are silver metal lookin
but rgb
that'd might look pretty cool
there is a white version to the p400a as well
ye I saw that, the digital in black is BUKO DUKO dollars
big sad
p300a it is
im in no hurry to buy it asap cuz im waiting on those FB ppl to reply
p400a is in stock
i got time to wait for it to come back in stock
in white only doe
i dont mind a whole lot on the color cuz i think the white with silver insides might look pretty cool
I'll try and go for the black one when it restocks
but i think both would make the build turn out fine
if you want the white aesthetic then get the one i just linked
but considering you still dont have the main components you can wait for the restock
The multichamber thing?
Yeah ill play it patient for these last few things. I think that covers everything on the list. let me put in those new parts and ill bring up the list one last time before I go to bed
👍 👍
alright
I think I got just about everything until the last few items come up, Thanks Atom1002, chillin, and Mr1111 for helping me out for this long and bearing with me. I did as much research as I could do on my own; and without your guys' expertise I'd probably take way, way longer👌
thanks guys and goodnight
You're welcome, good night
240mm rear mount? Yea that would be a tall case, unless i misunderstood
It seems like the only cases that have it are weird and niche.
Hey guys, my psu is making a rattling noise
The model is
Msi mpg a650gf
Sorry for bg noises
anyone know the best wifi adapter for windows 11?
not a thing
the drivers already works for win 11
there is no best for this os
unless hackintosh
almost any wifi card or usb wifi dongle will work
im tryna add better wifi to my prebuilt pc and it comes with 802.11 ac. how good is that?
you dont need better wifi
how good is it?\
good enough for anything really
ok
why do you want to upgrade?
but i need to add bluetooth to it though
should have bluetooth
and i cant find a bluetooth card that doesnt have wifi
nope
weird
i can just buy a bt card and disable or just not use the wifi adapter on it?\
y u need bt?
yeah its kinda wierd but im happy with the specs for the price (i7 11700f and 3060ti with 16GB ram either 3200 or 3000 speed
for my controller cuz i play rocket league semi-competitvely
wait do you know what mobo it has
UB400 is highly portable and much smaller than a flash drive. Plug and play in win8/8.1/10 systems to enjoy a wireless communication with Bluetooth-enabled devices. Ub400 supports advanced Bluetooth 4.0 and enables wireless connectivity a wide range of devices such as computers, printers, phones,...
and my keyboard
that should be fine for that
there is a very real chance that you already have bluetooth btw
fine for ur use case
everywhere on the best buy page and on the box it says it doesnt have it
it works with keychron k8 and xbox elite series 2?\
check windows
ok so can you open device manager?
i havent unboxed it yet
you should do that before making purchases
the major problem with the pc is the cpu cooler but im unpgrading it today
then i will use it
id go for something better
i saw benchmarks for my exact prebuilt and the stock cooler eeasily goes above 95 degrees but with the arctic freezer, max is 80 under max stress test while rendering a video
something like a thermalwright peerless assassin would be minimum imo
I call bs
link me the benchmark you saw?
it doesnt let me send YT links
Your wifi card should have a bluetooth module, make sure you have the usb header connected to the card
i said that cuz my pc comes with wifi already and i want to add bluetooth only
the best buy page and box said it doesnt come with bt
also the cpu is i7 11700f
They did something wrong unless it was an arctic freezer 120mm
Then... Possibly
idk
But 120mm aios are dumb
pato in the video he linked, the guy forgor to take off the plastic on the bottom
and used furmark as cpu stress test

100% not accurate
Also he's talking about the Arctic freezer i13 or whatever
Tbf it's just a meh cooler
the freezer 34?
how is it thermal throttleing at 75 degrees?
as long as it is better than the stock cooler im fine
but yeah still wouldnt recommend that cooler tbh
why not?
he didnt use any decent tests
bad or is there just better?
theres better for not much more
if isnt BAD im going to use it cuz it took SOO long to arrive at my house
and yeah it did start throttling when he started doing the render
anyone have suggestions for a good 12th gen MoBo?
Ddr4 or ddr5
and depends on the budget
Ddr5 isn't worth it at this point
That is true
For what cpu?
anyone experienced fast boot on msi z690 issues. I turned off the fast boot in windows settings and both Fast boot options in BIOS and its like the computer is still booting way too fast
is that a bad thing?
if you dont want it to boot fast, add a boot delay
well, what i mean is , i really didnt see a difference when i turned it all off
never liked fast boot, i like it to shutdown completely is why i turned it off
DDR4
What cpu?
i5-12400f
what’s your budget like?
anything under $200
aight
B660 prime
I have that in my parts list, but its out of stock as far as I've seen
the level 20 has room for two radiators on top, dont need a rear
I believe its the same one that Pato was talking about
that's the same one as i had but w/ Wifi, so even better. Thanks
In stock on Amazon and newegg
Yikes price
Ikr
Do you need wifi?
yeah. i was thinking about getting a wifi card for that
I think there is one ethernet port in my entire house and that's the one my parents' computer is hooked to
i know there isn't one in my room
Hey guys. Sorry if this is the wrong channel but I dont see anything pertaining to networking talk.. I have a gigabit connection with Xfinity, and bought an ASUS RT-AX55 Wifi6 router. Ever since day 1 months ago, i have had terrible speeds over wifi. Even just now I disconnected all devices and reconnected only my phone and only getting 35Mbps down/23 up. I have tinkered like hell with settings but nothing resolves this. Never had such poor speeds on previous routers/ISP tiers. Any advice?
Seems like my 360 won't fit on the top of one of these, the HT model anyway.
level 20 XT
Right yeah, i just feel paying 160$ for that board is a yikes :/ I'd be more inclined to get b660 mortar wifi for 20$ more but then again it's 20$ more ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also, I think this is the first case I've seen where is mounts the board level that isn't a bench rig.
It’s a pretty cool case I pondered using for my last build
Looks like microcenter does not have these. Online only.
I don't need anything special on the board. just a standard MoBo with 4 Mem slots, a couple M.2s, and good I/O
This is the one i had before, but its out of stock at least on Asus, but I couldn't find it anywhere else
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-B660-PLUS-D4/
ASUS Prime series is expertly engineered to unleash the full potential of AMD and Intel processors. Boasting a robust power design, comprehensive cooling solutions and intelligent tuning options, Prime series motherboards provide daily users and DIY PC builders a range of performance tuning options via intuitive software and firmware features.
yeah i mean if you need wifi might as well get one with built in
Trying to figure out if the 20xt supports fans on both sides of the case, or just one or the other.
Oh wait, I see how this works, I think.
The fans attach to the side mounting rails. Then the glass plates have small cracks on the bottom to let air in.
Front has cracks on both sides allowing for a pair of 200mm.
you can remove the top glass for more airflow
Considering that too.
With it, I can chamber a double side, front and bottom intake, rear and top exhaust.
i got my 1660 to always go to windows and not shut off
and it detecs it in gpuz
but not task manager
and now i have blue pixels all in my screen
Sounds like the gpu is dead
but when i unistall driver it works perictly fine no pixels but it shuts off
and reinstall
and i just want to hear your suggestions
you have a theme, which is good. it's up to your budget and purpose next.
al i have right now is Lian Li mini in black and white case
3x3 pack of ql120
white 3080 strix
I am planning on buying a white nzxt cooler
terrible build. Send me the 3080. I will save you. (joke) 😛
you have cpu/mobo planned? Also which NZXT cooler?
I need your suggestions for psu, mortherbord (white), rams sticks
.
Corsair makes a white 750w model.
850w?
not sure.
hmmm
never mind i dont need white psu
alrighty.
rams stick and motherboard (white) suggestions?
Would reccomend not going o11 mini
Having to use sfx PSU is annoying
yea
Ram, white ballistix sticks
oho, my bad - dodn't realize smol case.
Motherboard, atm, not great white options for z690 at least price wise
is it an lga 1700 build though? I think I missed something.
hmmm
Also, Crucial, PNY and others make white ram stix
12th gen are the best chips on the market at the moment
pny makes ram?
Crucial ballistix are the best ddr4 sticks for having nice die
Pny uses weird dies, who even knows what they're using
I think asus prime should work
Z690-p has a very sad feature set
hmmm
Not having debug leds is sad
z4 something
it sure is for me. 😄
I wanted my next pc build to have 3tb
If you can afford it, great!
You couold always use a 1tb drive to start and add more later.
yea
I know you said psu doesn't need to be white, but the cooler master V850 SFX Gold White Edition is a thing.
and given your chosen case, I got nothing in ITX motherboards that isn't black with rgb for lga 1700 Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Paint is a thing
true that.
Of course, I am still not sure which cpu is being considered by BKem, there was some presumption that we are 1700 platform but 1200 and am4 builds can still do the job and have much wider availability.
and some of those can even fit the white theme.
im pretty sure my 1660 is toast i have done everything just got done baking it and doing a bios flash and nothing happened
yeah im pretty sad
No post?
Ah yeah artifacts like that are probably not fixable
also it does show up in device manager but not in task manager
Download and run gpuz
And check
Also try underclocking ur vram
Also what do you even do on ur gpus
Didnt you kill an rx570 a few months ago?
Do you have an OC on it?
Have you tried to boot into safe mode?
Yes.
yeah i haver
Boot into safe mode?
yea
Still showing those artifacts?
So it boots into safe mode fine?
yeah
i have
Did you run it?
yeahg
Re install drivers?
yea
it does
Try a different momitor?
i already have
Same thing eh?
Send a picture of GPU z.
k give me a sec
like 1-2 years
That's fairly new.
Shouldn't be having problems this early.
Unless it was a manufacturer defect.
yeah and it satrted to do it when i was playing a game
Alr just hva eto send it to my gmail and download it
All good
Memory not detected
yeah i was wondering tha
It’s broke 😬
It's gone man.
Probably. Artifacts plus memory not detected equals bad.
6500xt are in stock 😂
It's like @zealous edge said, that's something you see in older ones more. It can still happen, usually from component failure, in relatively new ones. Looks like memory or a controller has a short in this case maybe.
Well... https://youtu.be/ZFpuJqx9Qmw
AMD's RX 6500 XT GPU is sometimes worse than a GTX 1060 and RX 580, embarrassingly for AMD. Our benchmarks and review compare PCIe 3 vs. 4 results, gaming, power, and more.

yeah its a flop
It was a joke 🙄
unless it was just to try and to fix the gpu shortage
And we thought it would be impossible to not sell out instantly of any product in this market 🤡
Barely, but it's not much better than a 970/980 or similar. Helps people who maybe still don't have a gpu at least this good, but very underwhelming for $200ish in 2021
I mean GT 730/GT 1030 are selling out so…..
The 6500xt is crap, but there’s still people with worse GPUs
And yes maybe you can buy a gtx 970 second hand, but it has no warranty either 🤷🏼♂️
Fr tho.
But that 970 also shouldn't cost $200
Had 1... wouldn't say to actually buy one (for $200). It's a $150-180 card usually. Sold mine for $160. I haven't had a new card since 6800 GT. Warranty? Pfft, lol
This is of course in a market where we're saying "Depreciation? What's that?" My 16 year old car is worth 25% more than it was 2 years ago.
alright, so i have decided i need the Razer Chroma RGB controller, it has a Molex connector type hookup, my power supply does not have that. I have seen that you can get a Sata to Molex adapter, i guess imma order one of those too?
Any one know what website to order a Nintendo 64 controller to USB for emulator play? Would be a huge help
The remote and adapter if both is possible, I have hear say they have a remote costume made somewhere, to automatically have the USB on the cord but didn’t tell me what website
@south cliff
alr give me asec
well here is the remote and it comes with a usb https://www.amazon.com/Controller-SAFFUN-Joystick-Raspberry-Retropie/dp/B07Z7TJQSW/ref=asc_df_B07Z7TJQSW/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416800803275&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4049414850004208050&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011620&hvtargid=pla-1067575934352&ref=&adgrpid=92650808583&th=1
@winter smelt
@south cliff life saver, thank you
good budget cpu cooler for 12th gen?
For what cpu?
Isn't the hyper 212 black the cheapest cooler that doesn't need an adapter?
I saw there’s an lga1700 adapter bracket from id cooling but it doesn’t say it supports the air cooler lineup
Iifc lemme double check tho
I was looking at this one
Because idk what else there is lmao
The ones that might have worked for 11400 don’t seem sufficient enough for 12400
Nothing at that price range yet really
Nah 12400 pretty similar in heat
Np
asus tuf or msi mag mortar for b660?
Asus prime I think is best price/perf
V5
yeah but then you have to live with the fact that you bought a hyper 212 in 2022
fair
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2WK7Y9
Gaming/streaming/recording, gaming mostly.
RGB/Black theme. my budget is 3300$. Dont try to get it lower
so much corsair...
you can easily get more performance out of that budget if you don't go corsair
1 because you won't have icue bloating your system and 2 because you'll be able to afford a 6900XTXH instead of a 6800XT
arctic freezer ii 280mm aio
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m2YXsL better cooler, better ssd, RX 6900 XTXH instead of RX 6800 XT, and managed to fit 32gb ram into the budget by making better choices, still have 7 ARGB fans
Crucial p5 is worth the $99 IMO
very cool build
already at $1 below the budget limit and team mp33 is a top tier drive in real world rand performance
It’s a much better build for sure.
change cpu
plz
why pay $25 bucks more to have igp disabled?
xD
time to put that budget in some ram that doesn't have tRCD 20
yee
probably a good idea to manually downclock the ram a bit (and tighten timings) to run gear 1
32gb 3600c16 kit prices kinda doodoo rn
Hello
Sorry im new to pcs and stuff but is it possible to get a good gaming/video makin pc for only like $1500 us dollars
sure
Ok thanks just making sure it possible
yeah, im checking what prebuilts there are rn for around that
do you do alot of content creation stuff?
like editing and all that?
"only" 👀
man i have customers coming in asking what kind of prebuilt i can do for a $100 budget with no used parts allowed
and of course it's for their 13 year old kid to stream on twitch and edit videos with
https://nzxt.com/product/bld-kit-starter-pro-pc
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali568-master/p/N82E16883360198R?
those are both p good for under 1500
if you wait a little bit, a 3070 abs pc may dip under 1500
did you just send an nzxt link
yeah
careful 👀
lol
but yeah that nzxt one will need a new psu
so while it looks nicer, its probably worse value in pure performance
the abs one is pretty good tho
Check this out on @Newegg: ABS Master Gaming PC - Windows 10 Home - Intel i5 10400F - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali559-master/p/N82E16883360189R?Item=N82E16883360189R&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-189R-_-01222022
mine was cheaper
mine was same thing but 1280
1275 actually
I mean i dont do tons but sometimes I try
Woah thanks
3060ti for 1360? poggers
the one i posted was way cheaper lol
.
click bottom link
10400f/3060ti for 1275
it's not working for me
weird, working fine for me
Are you counting needing a new psu in that price? Lol
the abs one?
ok nvm newegg app just sucks
newegg slander ISNT tolerated
I second newegg app sucks
The one I posted has 1tb nvme vs your 512
More space for a creator
for 85 bucks you could just get another 1tb m.2
and then have 1.5 tb
actually nvrmind
10th gen on b560
you could go sata 1tb ig tho
or hdd
yesterday it was forcing me to open the app on mobile to look at someone's newegg pc part picker thing, and they it refused to open it, and I couldn't even find where the part picker was in the app
I need to go into settings to make it stop automatically opening newegg.com links
but usually I can just open in new tab and not open into the app
yea it just opens the app's home screen usually
hmmm should i make a newegg unofficial pc knowledge test?
like a g forms or something?
could be interesting
im gonna throw in some historyyyyyy in there
PC part history..?
some history
other just general knowledge on parts stuff
like psu components and all that
Sorry if this is the wrong chat: I'm looking for something I can use as a bridge to transfer files from phone to hard/pen drives, download/stream and output to my tv (and preferably work with my turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 - which for some god awful reason only stay powered on if my xbox is also on...)
I would have thought I'm looking for something in a raspberry pi or similar but really I have no idea what solutions exist, I just know they do - I'm preferably looking for something ready to go, not something i macguyver myself at home.
Thank you 😊
Can I get a raspberri pi, stick a USB pen in it and use that as a C: with an open source OS?
Jkjk lol
You had me for a second 😊
So you are trying to get files from a phone to a hard drive corrct?
Yes
Do you already have a drive?
That is one of the things - I want this to be a solution for multiple things
The pen drives aren't an issue (just laborious copy pasting). I have an 8tb external, which my phone will recognize is connected but won't allow me to access
I don't have access to a computer
Ok so, you also want to use that dame external drive with your xbox?
I need basic computer function for other things too like streaming, downloading, basic web browsing and image manipulation etc... But I don't really want to get a laptop
Nah, don't need to use it with the Xbox
I wanted to get something like a pi that I could output through my TV and use for those things
Basically a glorified phone but that has an external keyboard and mouse
Reason: Bad word usage
My ideal scenario would be to buy a pre build pi, pre-loaded with an OS so that when it arrives I can just plug my stuff in and go - but idk how to search for that in Google, so I'm here 😅
Would a Chromebook achieve the same thing and cost less?
You want to like send video files from your phone and just stream to tv? do you also want them to be on a usb or is that just to get from point a to point b
because i would just invest in like a chromecast or something
most smart tvs has screen mirroring anyways
or at least media sharing capabilities
I've found casting from my phone to my tv to be a massive headache, very unreliable
I imagined the easiest way, based on my experience casting, would be to play files through 'the solution' (be it streaming on the device or playing direct from a connected drive) while connected to the TV physically
I don't know what Chromecast is specially though
Yes, both. I don't have a computer so I have a lot of pen drives and a large external hdd. I need to transfer files between them/from my phone
Is it an app?
Chromecast
Looking into it now. I think my tv is, and always has been, buggy
No app I have tried has been consistent. YouTube is the closest, but every other app either doesn't work, or when it does it breaks as soon as I have the audacity to try and rewind or pause
And router
Had considered output directly through my phone, but then I can't look at it while I'm watching something 😅
My tv has been like this in 3 different houses with 3 different set ups
As in not working well with casting
Aye, I think it's always had an issue. Most media apps on it (other than vlc) don't even recognize there's media on drives I plug in
But I also want this solution for file transfer, not just output to tv for watching stuff
Can I get a pi, put a sdd drive in it and run Android off that?
I suggest a game console honestly lol
It does everything you want it to do, including external mass storage of media. Xbox has always been a good media center.
I think Xbox is dreadful
I didn't, until I didn't have anything else to fall back on
It's ugly and impossibly slow. If I wanna watch something that's an hour long I have to do it all at once because no media player on my Xbox will allow me to forward more than about 20 minutes into a video
Just freezes the app every time
I also can't transfer files using it
Any console will do honestly, I've used my wii as a media player.
And playback issues like that are because it's a spinning disk drive. Not as fast as ssd loading times.
@spice sage how much do you think the 3rd 8pin connector helps? My 3080 ti only has 2.
A lot
Like over 1000 points in time spy a lot
Remember my 3090 with 2x 8 pin? It never got over 20k no matter what I did, even bios swap. Got 3080 ti FE, 22k first try oc.
Matters that much for a 3080 ti too? :0
Yeah, enough to close the gap in performance between 80 ti and 90 for sure
Hm
my 3080 ti is 19508 no OC at least lol
If I was to get a Chromebook without a HDMI port how would I connect it to my tv with a wire? USB to HDMI works?
Possibly, but depends what usb (type C might work)
Asus prime b660 plus
Oh does it have it now? Pog
Sipsss noooo
Cry
Could have went cheaper 2nd monitor
That's fair
Would go different ssd and case too btw but
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VpLwrH/asus-prime-b550m-acsm-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-prime-b550m-acsm
- you doxxed urself
- pi would probably have better perf but its arm not x86 so windows is a no go along with most apps
- you mean my zip?
- I think it comes pre loaded with os, not to l concerned about windows. Ultimately I think I want Android as the main os
- thanks 👍🏻
just get a cheap android phone then
I have an Android phone but it has too many limitations when you don't have access to a pc
i mean if you run android either of those 2 devices, ur gonna face the exact same problem
unless u vm which you shouldnt
Why not vm? I just remembered that I can run Ubuntu vm through my Android phone, which might at least fix my file transfer issue
Did you mean doxxed because of zip?
perf on those 2 devices is already nothing to brag about. running 2 operating systems is not gonna be fun at all
also an ubuntu vm wont fix anything really since its just sending stuff to the host os to send to whatever u want to send to unless you share over network
yeah
I'm not bragging... I'm not looking for performance, I'm looking to solve some very basic problems that I'm too poor to afford basic tech to fix
what is the problem that you are trying to fix
My basic need is transferring files from my phone to an external hard drive, but the ext hdd won't read on my phone
also nothing to brag about is a phrase which means something is not great at all
Oh thats a very simple solve
what external hard drive u got?
and what phone
Since I'm gonna have to put somewhere around $100 to fix that issue I would like it to do some other basic things my phone struggles with (like downloading/streaming with wired output to tv, basic file maintenance, maybe basic image manipulation)
Galaxy s10
you should be fine with a 10$ dongle lol
you dont need to spend 100$
usb c to a otg dongle
Phone won't read the 8tb
Recognizes it's plugged in but won't access it
And only one file manager will even get that far - most apps won't even see it's plugged in
how are you plugging it in rn
Otg cable
which one?
it sounds like you have a power delivery issue
the hard drive isnt getting the power it needs
USB c male end, USB a female end
The case was chosen as well as the cpu other then that its open to change
Yeah, hdd has external plug
Works fine in my tv
I thought (hoped) the hdd not being accessible on my phone had to do with limitations of my phone, and that using Android on a pi would be more robust (?) even if it's using the same apps
I get different mileage from some of the same apps depending on my device
this be what u need
oh
hmmmm
then its probably a bad otg cable
I had not considered that
With that hub i could use my phone with a wireless keyboard and mouse? I could output to my tv and use it as a desktop? Do you know how to have Chromecast in hd/4k? It looks like arse when I mirror my phone screen to the tv (I think the only solution to that is to use a wired connection, I think I've seen 4k Chromecast things but idk how they work)
Could it still be a bad otg cable if it works fine with usb pen drives?
why do you need an 8tb hdd with a phone anyway
Because I don't have access to a pc/computer at all
almost no one with a pc needs access to 8tb storage
I don't know what you mean?
Any solid ram for that cpu?
Why do you need 8 TB of storage on a smartphone?
I don't. I need to access 8tb of storage to move files around but I only have a phone and no access to a computer.
I don't need to have anything permanently connected to my phone, my phone is just my primary 'computer' so I need to connect it to the other bs I have where I should be using a desktop/laptop
Grab a free pc from a business shutting down near you
It's a much easier solution than trying to use a phone
How does that work?
See if any businesses are closing near you
Or check local selling sites
Sometimes there's a free old office pc
And then it'd be much easier to move stuff around
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep my eye out for places
Np
Recently been approached by someone abt a build, what’s part availability looking like atm?
Good bar gpus and ddr5
Just like a general use pc?
yeah
Depends on budget
budget undefined
ok
No point going ballistix unless you're gonna oc for them
ok
And pilot e is meh choice with competition atm
Lemme do a rough list
ok
Here's what I'd do, obvs not all that storage just mix n match it, better cases for price but figured the matx would be nice as only igpu and also the drive bays incase they want dvd drive
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lxprxs
ok
about to finally switch out my ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler that has 1 year old stock thermal paste, with a gammaxx GT.. getting a stable 90 degrees on cinebench at max fans with the 3600, lets see what the gammaxx and arctic mx-4 does
Btw you could have just used the included stuff but oh well
if i were gonna go 12400f + b660
it looks like a really small amount and i didnt want to risk messing up the application or something and then not having a PC cause i cant put a cooler on it till i get the thermal paste lol.. anxiety
Asus prime is the only decent looking one but it's 140$ at that point you'd be maybe better off with a cheapo 100$ one, also thought the included wifi might be nice as they probs cba running ethernet
Whatever is included in the cooler is enough
I have arrived
So is happened again. I was sent a Corsair AX1600i about a week ago but Newegg got me a Chinese model. Returned, tried again from Amazon (nobody else had one) and it's the Japanese model. Oi. This one contains a volt switch (somewhere) so do I just bite in and go with it?
Uhh why do you need a 1600w psu?
I will answer one easy question
Whats 69+420
Thank you
You must be late to this party, but builders put my peak usage without extras at 900w. Add in the 80% ratio and my tendency to add more to the computer as I go, and 1600w is where I landed.
Thanks for the wisdom
Nah 1200w power supply is plenty of headroom
850w woulda been fine
Ehh because 12900k I'd go 1000w high power cpu
But yeah could get away with 850w
You wont get much overclocking on either
But 850 be fine
1200 plentyyy of headroom
ok thanks
Get that
Plenttyy of headroom
Np
But, dropping this one in should fine, yes? I can't exactly wait for a new PSU if I can.
Yes all psus have standard connectors on the pc competent side
Ah yes pc competents
I love those
👀
Aware of that, just seeing if it would be okay with the odd volt/frequency. (Japan is 50/60hz and 100/115v) depending on where you are.
You shouldn't have any problem with the one i linked you anyway
That's not the question...
What's the voltage in your country?
North American Grid.
120v/60hz
Afaik either there should be a switch or it's fine and dynamic
Reason: Bad word usage
^^
Can't. Other end is unique.
What?
No lmfao
Ohh
Is it just weird looking kettle lead or something?
IEC C19
Just buy a North American IEC C19 cable
Supports higher amperage, all the higher wattage PSUs use them
Oh that makes sense yeah
So why doex this use a separate ground wire instead of a type B?
The picture you sent is not a North American wall plug
I know. I was sent the Japanese model.
Unless it is, I'm not sure, anyways it's just a external grounding wire
It's not common anymore but some older plugs have them like that
Must be normal still in Japan
Japan has type B outlets, which confuses me...
Yes but older outlets had an external type of grounding
Not the 3rd hole for it
Some places in japan still have the older style
Gee.
Okay, looks like this will stay on the bench a couple more days, unless somebody locally sells this cable.
Microcenter has them. That'll do.
Hi guys, I’ve been wanting to get a pc setup but don’t know where to start. I wanted to get a pre build but idk tbh. Ik my friend said don’t get any gpu from the thousand series but I can’t afford a 3060 or any of those.
I’m trying to either build a pc that’s a bit under $1k but I feel like that’s hard
could someone help me
If you can save up a bit more until you can do $1250 you could get something with a 3060 or 3060 ti. For now, this might be a good option if you need it soon.

Thanks man @potent portal !
Solid build
i can't share my build in #build-pics
level up first
how
just keep talking around here for a bit
thoughts on the coolermaster masterliquid 280ML mirror? it vs the fuma 2 or a noctua equivalent.
okay
Anyone expierenced in gpu repair?
!ask
My mistake lol 😆 I need to clean a 3090 I got and replace the thermal pads and paste im sure. I was wondering if there was some solid suggestion as I hear thermal pads can come in 1mm 3mm 5mm 8mm etc and im just a nub
google thermal pads for your model
tons of people have done repads at this point
someone has figured out the best pad thickness four your model guaranteed
it's ehhhhhh
not great
literally just an ML280 but with a different block
wow i havent been here for a while
In the off chance you can't find the proper pads for your model you can get a cheap digital caliper to measure them, keeping in mind compression will shrink them a bit
Most will use a combination of 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm
mine were 2mm and 3mm only
nice build. The shrunken down psu is sort of hilarious
yeah but it's SFX sooo .-.
ikr
building in the meshlicious with anything nonmodular or ATX is iffy
but yeah corsairs sfx size is insane
well all sfx sizes are
but yeah
sfx-l also works and it's literally just a box
and it has atx support but then the entire psu takes up the bottom half of the case
not to mention the longer atx cables will get annoying
$420.69 tbh would be about right.
( incl tax I paid $490
$69.42 + 0?
🥺
👉👈
honestly time to code a bot to get me a 6700xt from amd.com drops
wish it had a midnight version
yikes
👍
"raytracing"
anyone know how to send a image i need help with something
You need to level up by chatting, once your name turns green you can send pics here. what's your problem?
Artic p12s
P12 pwm and/or pwm pst model also, if you wanted that for some reason.
Pst is daisy chain, useful

Very
Arctic p12s perform almost as well and as quiet as noctua a12x25's
Normal price ish tbh
Do they fit well in the Corshair 4000d airflow
They've always been cheap and great
Ok
It's a fan they all fit the same if the size is the same
Was $22 recently, but still decent price. These fans are $7+ each
Anyone bored enough to help me make a build with a $560 budget left. All I have is a z590 aorus pro ax and a 3060 elite 12 gb gddr6
can you return the motherboard or was it bundeled?
Tbh idk if I need to try more than hws or what, but selling a z590 mobo is extra tough now.
yeah nobody wants them cuz 12th gen is so good
if not id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RPcBDq
yeah z690 the way to go now tbh
12400 mainly for wattage. $390ish 11600k+mobo was pretty decent. Reposting to hws to see if a small price cut will do it. 😅 (plus $90 ballistix purchase didn't work yet)
is this expensive for this case
@fossil cedar
thats fine
its 15$over msrp though
yeah you can wait for price to go down
but itll only be a couple dollars at most
prices are changing pretty much everyday
it hasint been at msrp for 120 days
and you want that specific case?
yes
@fossil cedar bundle
corshair sells it for same price as amazon
yeah 95 is the most common price rn
Normal price
Then go with the list i sent
I have an rx560 2gb i play my pc games between 720p and 1080p i cant tell difference on my 28 inch monitor less than a foot away
Remember the S in msrp means suggested. Many things being msrp is rare these days.
You need some glasses
no, having blurry vision is for the best for his rx 560 at 720p 28"
let him be happy
True, basically free 1440p
i should stare into the sun until i can't tell the difference between gt 520 and rtx 3080
then i'll save so much money on pc parts
feel free to steal my 3080 and drop your 3080ti in the process
i almost lined up a trade for a bnib 3080ti ftw3 ultra hybrid but he backed out 😦
If you play at 720p you wont be able to know your gpu isn't good sample because you'll be cpu bound
i am sad because
i said i couldn't do it because that gpu doesn't fit in my case
then later on i saw some pictures of it fitting
but when i asked if he was still down he said not anymore
it's ok if my eyes are lagging 15 fps = 1000 fps
Ripirino
but yeah i'm kinda mad at myself for not doing more research before saying that
theo told me his didn't fit
Hey, does anyone know any good tier motherboards that support a third gen i7?
@fossil cedar I have a $600 budget anything that can be changed
exactly what cpu do you plan on getting?
I already have it. I'm just looking for replacing the motherboard
oh which one is it?
I need a board that supports third gen i7 cpus
can a cooler used on an AM3 chip be used on an AM4 one as well?
third gen? as in the really old ones?
sheesh idk much about the older gen cpus tbh
ill leave this for someone else to answer
well it's the best I can afford right now
because my current processor is still going for about $200
in the used market, your cpu goes for about 60 bucks
well yeah used.
I'm talking about new
then again
I'm just looking for a motherboard
not a new cpu
Z77x-ud3h, ud5h. Try ebay or something and search p67 motherboards or z77 motherboards.
Alright. I will take a look when I can!
You'll probably want a B75, Q75, Q77, C216, or H77 board. Z77 works but kinda useless if you don't have a K processor.
You'll be able to overclock using bclk on those chipsets too, even without a K processor
Yeah search em all, z77 doesn't hurt either but don't pay extra for it - meant to add that 😅
I already have a Z77. however both memory channels for the ram are done for
an asrock z77 pro3
the board starts up fine. the previous owner accidentally killed one memory channel, but still ran. but when he sent it out to me, the optical drive came loose and hit the ram that was in it and killed the second memory channel
so yeah. that's why I'm looking for a new motherboard
RIP
yeah
hey all, looking for a budget-ish B550 board with:
-USB C
-built in Wifi
- Ryzen 5000 compatibility
thanks :)
sounds like a b550m pro vdh wifi time
doesnt have usb c tho right?
ig a added pcie usb c card would work
ya
looks like a micro atx one right?
wait
it was usb c internal
I was looking at the quick specs not detailed and got confused
pro vdh wifi op budget board still
cheapest one im finding thats atx and wifi is like $180 lol
no flashback
but no usb c :(
how much?
160
b550 tuf is the cheapest im finding with everything youd want
and its 180
and its matx
actually b550 aurous pro is 180
and has everything youd want
but it is kinda spendy for a b550
if it were me, and you needed usb c on rear io, id just go pro vdh wifi and hook up a usb c card to it
I could get it down to like 160
Still salty that the b550 tuf plus has features the x570 version locked to the pro version
like flashback?
Mhm
@covert vaporyo you have the same specs as my old laptop lol
yeah it sucks but vrm wise, that x570 rocks
i got mine for like 160, never had an issue yet
keep in mind i only have a 3600 on it lol
so if it had issues id be mega dissapointed
I got mine for about 170 or so, but I had a PCIe slot fail and I got to go and fight with ASUS support over shipping damage
3600 has no issues being overclocked to the edge on the worst a320 board you can dig out of the trash
vrms are really not even remotely a consideration for a 3600
yeah thats why i had a disclaimer there lol
but bad qc could make something pop up if it were REALLY bad
the matx version is 150 on newegg but out of stock rip
like you'd need to have a 2 phase 50A board to even start thinking about vrms for a 3600
they said they didnt want matx
but the funny thing is, 3600 should still run on 2 phase 50A lol
lol true
can you link this? I cant find the one with USB C '_'
ah yeah then atx is 180
I've got a 5600x in mine, I can push it to about 4.8 with undervolting in PBO
@muted geode the cheapest option would be the $117 PRIME B550-PLUS with a pcie wifi card or other wifi solution
no flashback tho
