if you paid more than $450 you got scammed
Could get a kit of 3200cl16 for 50$ ish then get a 3600 or 3100/3300x and and upgrade it used only
fair
Okay that's alright then
400 is an ok price
is i5 9400 good
Cuz new 3600s and 3100s/3300xs are dummy price
or 8400
they won't fit in your mobo
o
if you have the budget buy a used 3600 for $120-130 as a drop in upgrade for your current motherboard
and get 16gb ram
can either add 2x4 or just get a new 2x8 kit
it's 2666 ram so better to get a new kit
Just don't buy it for 200$ new
i will use like ebay
check r/hardwareswap
i am from uk
ye
oof ouch owie
That's bit more towards scammie side
Check r/hardwareswapuk
And ebay
@violet flame https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/zCCFf7/crucial-ballistix-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3000-memory-bl2k8g30c15u4w I'd get this kit of ram then, you can easily overclock it to 3200mhz with xmp timings
@violet flame you can dm me the link
You need to be green to post links that aren't Amazon newegg or pc part picker
o
That looks okay, but a bit expensive, you should find some for around 150£
keep an eye on this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165130201205?epid=18033165222&hash=item267286e875:g:drkAAOSwduhhSzL8
ye
this one is from china btw kind sketch imo
o
@violet flame https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174977389644?hash=item28bd77144c%3Ag%3Af2gAAOSwxaFhaG2v&LH_ItemCondition=1000|3000 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393111417492?hash=item5b87443294%3Ag%3A4ooAAOSwToJgEakr&LH_ItemCondition=1000|3000
CPU not powerful enough
that should be the opposite
anyway
https://www.reddit.com/r/HardwareSwapUK/ try post here saying youre looking for a ryzen 5 3100/3300x/3600/3600x
on very high settings maybe 3gb vram is the problem
but
you really shouldn't be playing a competitive shooter at high settings anyways
I like to play BF1 at high settings lol
will a i3-10100f be good enough to run higher end games 1080p? with a 3060 or should i upgrade it?
I recommend at least something like i5 lol
so i5-10400f
ya
also is there a big diffrence between b460 and b560?
ok so b560
Hey guys so I was wondering what games could this build run in 1080p, I'm thinking I'll probably get around 40-60 fps in all AAA games. I'd mainly play MC, val, csgo, canr think of any others but lmk
you'd need some really potato settings to hit 40-60 fps in the newest games
for example, in cyberpunk after the optimization patch, 1050ti barely swings 40 fps at 720p low settings
surprisingly 40 fps is doable at 1080p low in valhalla
will drop below 40 fps occasionally at 720p in control
you should really not be paying $300 for a 1050ti
that was an entry level graphics card 5 years ago
look for a used gtx 1070 for $300
why is the pc case more expensive than the cpu
some other problems with the list, working on them lol
that looks like awful budget allocation
sata ssd to nvme
lol tfw the 10600K is $10 more than the 10400 rn
the 10400 is so overpriced rn for what
same price
generally not a fan of putting a K chip on a B board but right now it's worth the extra $10 just for the stock boost frequency lol
1070 is a 150W tdp card
yeah i remembered
10600K with unlocked power limits is 182W worse case scenario
like, prime95 lol
so if you were running prime95 and furmark at the same time after maxing out the power limit on the gtx 1070... you'd still be at about 70% of psu capacity
just an extremely good deal on that pretty quality psu
was trying to stay at the same price, but with far better budget allocation
about double the performance of the original list
and still has some rgb lol
Why 10600k instead of 10400?
$10 price diff
10400 has fallen victim to out of stock at normal price
Sadge
Why does rma on motherboard take over a week.. that is a looong time
i mean it is what it is
guys if i change my rams will my pc stutter enymore
details
details of the hardware
o so i need to change it
1st gen ryzen was better than FX at least
Big company they've got other rmas to get to lol
And they need to process it
I had a 2700 with a 1060 and it worked pretty well in most games
me and sips was talking to you last night and i linked some alright r5 3600s, would recommend instead
A little
Not enough
Max for first and second gen ryzen is about 3200, third and fourth like 3600-3800
Yeah it will
A good bit, they have 2666 ram
Yeah but if we're still talking about that 1500X the memory isn't the biggest issue
R5 3600 is good but as i said last night look at the ones i sent last night from the uk and Ireland instead of china
yeah
3600 at that price is pretty good
You'll be waiting a long time if it ships from China, probably worth a few bucks more for something closer
They have a b450 so can just bios update
Good
Then all you need is a good kit of 3600 c16 memory, should be about 50 pounds for a used kit right?
@violet flame i send a few links here if you read down you'll find everything you need basically
Your name is green now so you can send links in chat btw
You can pay it a bit more for a better xmp profile or try find a used kit like falcie said
yeah
i mean i will change the cpu and rams soon as i can
thisi the best i can get
o yeah
That's awful you can get new sticks for cheaper
yo instead of me making like a million posts about each component in my planned build would any of you guys just run through my build list and make sure it's all good parts or make suggestions?
Sure, send a pc part picker link for whichever country you're in
alright ill be home in a few hrs and I'll copy stuff from my list into pcpartpicker. ty pato
Np
Does the 24 pin cable need to be inserted all the way into the motherboard socket?
My is only like 80% in
pato
is that pc better then the one we found before for 650$
is it bad that its renewed

thats the one you told me to get
Uh ye
This one has a better gpu so I'd get this
Depends how much you pay for it, but you cant put intel in an amd motherboard so it's not worth it, you could get a ryzen 3 3100/3300x or Ryzen 5 3600 for cheaper especially 2nd hand and not have to buy a new motherboard
Budget?
after much researching and fiddling think ive finally got a upgrade path https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Rhqc2V
Overpriced ram and psu
Psu is dumb overpr
iced
i already have half that ram and have the psu already aha
Can you return?
i have it in a system already that i got a year ago
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/76sqcT this is my current system
Hmmm
how come the change in cooler?
The cooler runs cooler
Only change needed is mobo
Aorus elite or asus tuf b550 will do nicely
i wanna get rid of hdds, i need type c front and back,
B550 asus tuf
with a good amount of type 3/2 usbs as well, doesn't need Wi-Fi cause i use ethernet
TUF Gaming series distills essential elements of the latest Intel® platform and combines them with game-ready features and proven durability. Engineered with military-grade components, an upgraded power solution and a comprehensive set of cooling options, this motherboard delivers rock-solid performance with unwavering gaming stability.
Asus tuf b550 plus
doesnt have front usb c
Yes it does
cant see it on the spec?
It actually does
I can confirm by looking on the manual
The header's just right below the 24 pin
Also shown in the site
thats not usb type c
X570 tuf gaming plus has a usb type c
on the back but cant see an internal one
The ryzen 3 5300g and rx 5500 hp one
Bad, no flashback
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PNPjt8
welp looking at the compatibility thing I should probably find a different mobo maybe?
whats your budget and use for the pc?
best bets for that then are msi gaming edge wifi or gigabyte aorus pro x570
yeah i like the aorus just wanted to send the new complete system to make sure its all good
not what id do from the start but not much i can do about that lol, mb get more ram if you use 16gb
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kKptj2 this would be better and cheaper
what ya mean? yeah i got the current system a while ago when i didnt know too much and asked someone else to do it
Yeah that's fine, i just mean like better aios different ram but not worth changing it now, although, i would consider 32gb of 3600cl16 if you tend to use more ram, 16gb just seems mismatched with a 12 core cpu
budget is around what the link I sent was, about 1700 or so? gonna be gaming but also a mild workstation for school (engineering stuff)
1700? Ohhh there's no way you're fitting a 3070 in that budget with a 5800x and all that, unless you're really looky and can get a 3070 fe or already have a 3070 fe
yeah i think i needed to know more when i did it, will there be much of a performance increase from 32gb 3200 cl16 to 3600cl16?
Well it depends what you use the pc for?
I'm budgeting it for a fe edition hopefully can find one, I'm just gonna end up waiting until I get a Fe most likely
Then you could be waiting a year or more...
idk, my case has front usb c and it works for mine
it's connected to that usb 3.2 header
i have similar mobo
@sharp tangle also what kind of workstation stuff, gpu or cpu bound?
but lower end model
I sure hope not, I found a 3070 gigabyte eagle on shopblt for $530, the workstation stuff is gonna be a mix of GPU and CPU bound but maybe a bit more on the GPU side
erm alot of gaming some games are quite heavy to run like simulators, no editing or rendering sometimes i stream
Well that's back order you see, that might not appear for 6 months? If they let you order it
that's also true, idk it's a bad situation lmao 🤣
Hmmm well you could definitely watch your ram usage in task manager and see if you get around 90% usage
ill have to keep an eye on it to see if its worth it
id look into getting this possibly https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali560/p/N82E16883360190?quicklink=true and just swapping the cooler out for a gammaxx 400 or id cooling se 224xt or vetroo v5 but ill reconfig your list for a more realistic budget for the gpu without much harm to perf
I mean it's prolly what, a 10$ difference? Why not go for it
Especially with ryzen cpus it's a decent performance difference
they already have 3200cl16 16gb
kingston dont give great ram dies, can be tedious, can ruin windows install
i dont wanna kill them ahah
I didn't even know Kingston ram existed
ill look into what ram could be a good upgrade then cause if i was going to get complety new ram id just get 2 16gb dims
hyperx is kingston
its hyperx
yeah i would
any recommendations
Is 900$ good for 3070
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sb2Hwz id do this, excpect for the worse, if you manage to get a 3070/3060 ti for cheaper you can swap a 5800x in that build no problem and you can always add more storage (ssd or hdd) later, 1tb is enough to get you started
ballistix 3600
oooh that's a good idea thanks!
No problem

is this cpu good?
and will i be able to play call of duty 1080p when i upgrade to 16gb ram?
im also going to install a 2tb western blue digital harddrive
can anyone take a look at this and let me know what I'm missing? not sure if I need mroe fans https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hWCjt8 I have 970 and a 500g wd ssd stick at home to put in it as well
Yes, yes and yes
What's your budget my guy?
frost your pc mother board is not compatible you need to find another motherboard
ok, i thought a bios update thing would be easy to fix, but my first build so ill change it
It is
oh ok cool lol
They were just saying that cuz pc part picker auto flags it as warning
ah yeah
oh my bad frost
But how much is your budget?
not sure if i need the sound card/network adapters since the mobo has wifi (ill be using ethernet)
I'm trying to stay under 700
wife makin me build a mini, so gotta get rid of my current
Nope you don't
awesome
Well what do you currently have, you can probs reuse some parts?
what gpu and cpu do you have in old one
Also what's your use for the pc? Gaming?
WD - WD_BLACK SN750 NVMe Gaming 500GB PCIe Gen 3 x4 Internal Solid State Drive is being shipped rn to me from best buy
and i have a 970
that's it lol
Ohh sounded like you had a previous pc
yeah gaming, at least able to run like bf 2042 on low settings decently
i just put a 3060 ti in the one im usin now
big upgrade from the 970 lol
pato could he keep the 3060?
Ohh nice so you're gonna be using a 3060 ti with it? Then no need to go with the 5600g
this one is for streaming/gaming, but i have no delusion the mini won't be able to do all that
Ofc
Ahh how come?
what cpu does your pc have?
umm
That's a shame :/
10700
What case?
yeah that's why iwant the mini to be able to play, say, tarkov at like 40 fps or so, or newer games on lowest settings to try and hit 60 hz on my monitor that i have for the mini
i have no idea what case lol
some sort of asus
And you realise matx is only vertically smaller than atx btw, itx which is expensive is the small one
huge
Ahh
i don't know much about that
but i think the case i chose is way smaller than this huge beast
this one goes up to my knees lol
Itx is like xbox series x sized
pato i got a question does the hp pc im getting come with a sata cable you think for a hard drive or should i buy them
But a bit bigger
ohhh yeah those looked way too complicated to build lol
and do i need a screw kit?
You'll probs new to buy them but just wait and see, you can add in extra storage at any time so
I mean they might have screws in the hard drive bay, if not could just use a bit of tape
@tardy bluff why dont you just sell the 3060 ti by itself then move cases to a smaller case btw?
well the pc only has a 240 ssd which is litterly no storage at all
i figured i could get more for sellin the comp as a whole, not sure though
just bought it for...715 after tax or so from micro center
so i was planning on buying the hard drive right away
and the screws are only like 7 bucks so i rather do it right lmao then risk a 700$ pc
Nah it's like 5ish games as well as chrome discord etc
Like i mean you can wait a day if you have to Amazon some sata cables right lol
well 2tb hard drive should last forever tho right
yeah
You could sell it for 1k ish on Facebook marketplace or ebay tbh
oh wow that's not bad
Depends on the type of person you are, some ppl have lots of storage almost full, I'm not like that though lol
well i plan on getting like valorant gta 5 fortnite warzone and tons of call of dutys cs go and discord and a bunch of stupid ass crome exstenions lol
looking at the inside of the hp desktop the hard drive looks super easy to install
I doubt it will come with a sata cable tbh, mb just order some, they're v cheap anyway
Ok so I'm helping my friend build his pc, he has a p360a with an added arctic p12 pwm pst for outtake, but his mobo, b550m gaming only has 2 normal fan headers, what should I do?
Get 2 fan splitters or a fan hub
and ive never built a pc and the ram looks super easy cause theres no cords or anythin
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018Y2LEBE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A1AMUYYA3CT6HJ&psc=1 are these sata cables okay?
or do i need 24 inch?
No you don't need 24" cables jesus
2 foot sata cable jeez
Those are fine
@tardy bluff btw if your cooler for the 10700 fits, you could get a cougar mx330 g air it's like 55-60$ and pretty compact
ooo
i think i have the stock cooler in a box still
put in some rgb cooler master one, but the rgb was too complicated so i didn't connect those lol
oh wow yeah im looking at that, looks nice
honestly as long as the case isn't as tall as this that's what i need haha
i think mine is like 20+ "
Save with Free Shipping when you shop online with HP. Find all product features, specs, accessories, reviews and offers for HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170m PC (3V2Z3AV_1).
in this pc how do i tell what mz number the cpu is
it just says ryzen 3
I wouldn't use the stock cooler its a joke, especially on a 10700, what cooler do you have on it now?
Ahh right some cooler master one, hyper 212 black rgb? Or ?
Thats a tall boy yeah
OH LETS GO THE PRICE JUST DROPPED 50$"
nice! @lost crypt
Doesn't matter, shopping with mhz is a thing of the 90's ryzen 5 5300g is a very good cpu for your budget
That's really good, I'd order asap
5300g is a good cpu
Model is more important
how did you see its a 5300g?
Yes 16gb will do plenty
ok
ive been watching some vids and it says the 5300g ryzen 3 is one of the best value cpus
omg this case is so sick, might think about this too lol
Vetroo K2 M-ATX Mid-Tower
way bigger though
Yep
@void lantern Is that a Bykski CPU block I see in #build-pics ? Neat
Yeah, not great, either I didn’t mount it right or it’s bad bc my cpu hits 90+C pretty fast under hard loads
Isn't your motherboard atx tho, requires a motherboard swap, also idk how good the case quality will be
What CPU?
Sounds like bad mount or plastic still on the block
i9 10850k at 5ghz
Ohh wait under hard loads not plastic
Nah there’s no plastic
yeah it is, i just thought that tower looked cool, quickly said no to it in my head xD
Ahh
Gotta do that lapping on CPU (block)
Sadly yes, idk how to control it and it’s loud
I wish I could turn it down a bit
Oh sick will look into it
I want to do hard tubing eventually but haven’t gotten around to it
Goto BIOS and make sure its set to PWM or DC mode (depending on pump 4 pin or not). Then set to whatever percentage you want
If you want to spend a heck ton of money, Optimus I think is best Intel CPU block (TechN is best AMD)
It’s 3 pin I believe
But it plugs into molex and the plug only has one pin going to the fan port
Which pin goes to mobo?
I went for the one I had bc was being cheap, might get a new one but I don’t want to spend more than 100
one of the center ones or right/left most one
90% that's PWM signal (could be 12v rail one, but wouldnt make sense for this kind of thing). So need to goto BIOS and set to PWM. Then set fan percentage to some amt
pato should i get a 1650 super for 20$ more?
the one it comes with is a amd radeon 5500
Nope 5500 is better than a 1650
wait really why are they charging 20$ more then
Yep
@fossil cedar do you maybe know how to link the RGB of the front fans of a p360
What brand of fans?
Is there a way to tell which NVmE drive is the upper one during Windows install? Both are the same size so I can't go by that.
By upper, I mean the top slot of the motherboard. The reason I ask is my second drive is just Gen3 and I want to install Windows on my Gen4 drive
Are they the exact same drive? If not, just look at which one is where.
If they're the same you can just select the top one, and see what happens. Second option remove the bottom one and install windows. Then set it back up afterwards.
Alright, thanks
The included fans
Wdym by link?, Connect them to the motherboard? There should be an rgb hub that you can connect to the motherboard afaik
Remove the bottom and reinstall after windows install is easiest
how good is the pny brand for gpus and memory??
im having trouble where my computer randomly disconnects from the wifi
but no other devices do it
I have a Cyberpower desktop with 24.0 GB that uses a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics card. I use four 24" 1080 resolution monitors but want to upgrade to 4k monitors. I have several; questions. Does the GTX 960 support 4k resolution? If not, can I upgrade the graphics card? Or would I be better off buying a new desktop? Another possibility would be to use my hp Spectre laptop to run the additional monitors. It has an Intel(R)Iris(R)Xe Graphics, which I believe allows two extra displays. So, I could run two 4k monitors of 28 to 32" or larger and probably be able to fit more images and details than I currently can fit on my four 24" 1080 monitors. What do you think would be best?
Hey bros I’m about to build my god PC (3090, 5900x) in the lian li 001DXL-XL and I want to vertically mount my GPU, I’ve seen a few options, the ones I’m leaning towards are from Lian li directly and another one I found on Amazon. I’ll link them both if any of you wizards have any recommendations or input I’d greatly appreciate it
Amazon titles:
- Lian Li O11DMINI-1 Vertical GPU Bracket KIT /PCIE 4.0 / Black -O11DMINI-1X-4
- LINKUP Vertical GPU Mount Loop Bracket Graphic Card Holder with LINKUP Ultra PCIe 4.0 X16 Gen4 Riser Cable 90 Degree Right Angle 15cm Black Kit
Thanks for any help at all 🙏
I would suggest not vertical mounting the gpu its pretty bad for airflow and you have an extremely hot gpu
Vertical mounting in general isn’t a good idea
It’s a huge case, it’s the lian li, XL and I’ll have a 360 radiator and 6 other fans
the vertical mount kits are different from built in vertical mounts
I’m pretty sold on doing it
it's back in the pcie slots rather than just shoving the card against the glass
I do appreciate the advice though
Thanks mate, appreciate you @earnest olive
just make sure support for pcie 4 is explicitly stated
ampere has a tendency to not boot on a gen 3 riser
the linkup one is probably cheaper right?
15cm should be long enough but you should try measuring to make sure
or find a pic in the reviews where it's installed in your case
can't be too hard, O11 owners love showing off

not all ports will do 4K
check which ones your card has
So I'm wanting to do a ryzen 9 5950x paired with a 3080ti with that setup do I have to have water cooling or can I use an air cooler
you can air cool a 5950x yes
just don't skimp
absolute top of the line is a requirement
you'll want something along the lines of an nh-d15
Shared List https://newegg.io/a1eb264
This is what I was gonna use for the build. I mean it was the more expensive air cooler
I would recommend water cooling instead, better performance for money at that high end of a cooler you'd need anyway
My only issue is I've never delt with water cooling
Unless you're getting them to build it trew that maniac builder thing I'd use https://pcpartpicker.com/list instead
Aios are very simple
Also I'd change case, power supply, motherboard, ram and storage
should be okay if you're only gaming, but nobody buys a 5950x for gaming
that cooler will not do very well if you're hitting it with a sustained all core load
stick to nh-d15 class cooler if you must air cool
Well I used the Newegg pc builder
lol loses to a 212 ok NVM it's worse than I thought
I can do water cooled I just don't know anything about it
You don't need to that's what aios are for
wonder if the testing was flawed
or coolermaster really embarrassed themselves that badly
aios are pretty easy to install
Ok I be home in a few ill check it out
if you're doing purely gaming, buy a 5800x instead of a 5900x or 5950x
5800x technically beats them both in gaming
Gaming and streaming yeah I get its more then I need but why not right oh ok ill check it out
I mean, if you want a really premium experience then sure, but 5800x is plenty for just streaming and gaming
just use nvenc on the 3080ti for streaming
Ye
5800x is already a "really premium" experience lol
paying extra to beat a 5600x by 2%
Yeah
5900x and 5950x is just paying more to lose to the 5800x
But they can be more lazy with tabs etc if they like that
bro 5800x is 8 cores not 2
Lol i meant while gaming and stuff
never had a problem with background tasks
hit like 30% CPU usage tops in AAA gaming
I. Mean as long as it pairs with a 3080 ti
all multi million cell excel spreadsheets?
5800x 3080ti is a fine pairing
my 5800x is basically asleep most of the time with a 3080
5800x is a better choice as long as you don't do cpu heavy tasks often
5600x 3080ti is a fine pairing for gaming but seems like you have plenty of money to waste
Naw the game I play is 11 years old the harder thing would be the twitch stream
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MXMBwz this would mean you're spending less too lol
streaming doesn't use CPU unless you're a professional multi millionaire streamer lol
Then what's the 3080 ti for
Lol well honestly kinda like a mine bigger kinda thing haha
I mean around $3,500 if I can stick to that price range I'd be happy
A what?
I mean if you're not impressed by the 5800x when you get it you could upgrade to the Ryzen 9 zen 3d when it comes out lol
like my pc is bigger then yours kinda thing
Ah
if your primary goal is to flex
yeah and like said for $3,500 i figure it should be a decent rig
wait until alder lake comes out and flex some ddr5
your flex will be dead in a month
if you buy now
lol
nice ancient last gen hardware bro
imagine still being on ddr4
imagine buying something just to flex it on other people
I just love my rig for what it is, there's always going to be someone better
well its not to just flex its also like what mushroom just said
now this is a flex lol
to be proud of what i worked hard to have
i mesn the rig i have now isnt bad just its older
if you want to be proud of your rig
don't waste money on hardware you aren't going to use
put that money towards personalizing it
you don't have to be a crazy machinist and make a full custom copper case
get a custom backplate or graphics card bracket or something
just make it yours

lol scrolling through the review photos and almost everyone gets anime girls..
this guy getting anime boys instead
i appreciate all the info for sure. i drive forklifts and work on dirtbikes and atvs so i dont know much on computers and i guess flexing isnt the main reason why im doing this build its just something to be proud of.
lol, get a custom panel with a picture of your bike on it
put a mini bike figure in it
now it's yours
true
i straight up put a monitor in mine so i can put whatever i want on it
ha thats good stuff
Like time of day? Newegg starts sales at midnight PST, beyond that who knows.
Currently Newegg has their black friday price protection thing going so if something goes on sale for less than you already paid you can get the difference back.
For how long
Like any where
Do monitors go on sale on thanksgiving cyber Monday
Any of that
Also u know about keyboards?
Yes things go on sale a lot then, but if you bought it now and it went on sale later you would still effectively get the later sale price. Don't wait until everyone is buying and it's all out of stock is what I'm trying to say.
I'm using a free keyboard from 2006 that came with a HP so no, I don't know keyboards lol
Oh I see so it saying if I buy it now and comes on sale later I will get the difference back
Exactly
Ok
But how long is that thing active
Like if I buy it now
Than how long will that last
Cause I wanna get the g7
Oh
Ok
Also
Remember about that aio thing
Where I get the cpu fan error
Nothing happens
Happened
But I am worried something will hit idk what to about that thing
So that even possible
So I have 3 fans on aio and the wires plugged into an commander pro
If a fan is really failing it'll spin slower and slower, making the motor work harder until it eventually gives up
Oh
So should I unplug one fan from the commander
And plug it into the header
Or do I need to do all three from an splitter so like if I plug in one aio fan into the header can I control all 3 of them
You can plug the commander pro into the CPU fan header. It should be reading the tachometer rpm off only one fan. If one of them is failing, use another one for the tachometer.
It's best to have all 3 run the same speed
But does the commander pro have the correct wires that will fit into that header
Cause I think it’s an usb header right
Depends on which commander you have, I don't remember the exact one
COmmander pro?
Yes that's the same one
But I only want to control the 3 exhaust cause I have 6 intake
So I want to make the exhaust stronger
the commader pro only controlls the fans right
Or faster so I can keep up with intake
I think some other thing
Do I understand what I am trying to say?
it is better then then the one you get with the aio right?
Ok, what I would do is plug the pump for the AIO into the CPU fan header, and then set a fan curve that makes it so the pump is running 100% all the time
I have 6 intake and 3 exhaust I wanna control the 3 ex so I don’t have positive pressure but in the commander I have 3 in and 3 ex so how would I control the aio fans which are exhaust
Would this work plug king on do the aio fan I rot he header?
If you plug the AIO into the CPU header it'll have a separate fan curve from the other fans, then you can set those fans in the Corsair software
Oh you replaced the Vardar fans with Corsair ones right?
Yes
Ah that makes more sense
how do i use a commander pro?
ok people advice is needed won a 3080ti from the shuffle now im building around it here is my current part list suggestions always appreciated Not in love with the board but let me know what you think
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/CCCtrilogy/saved/xDB28d
You can set each fan to its own curve in iCue software https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045605731-How-to-Set-up-fan-control-and-system-lighting-in-iCUE#h_01EVCTH07TB5F3A7HDHQ7Y349A
with a 3080ti, h510 maybe not the best play
I would go for something with better colling potetntial
According to Corsair's official documentation yes, each fan can be controlled individually. Check the link.
There's probably not a failing fan, it's just a system message saying it's not reading a fan most likely. You can connect the pump to the CPU fan header like I said, and set the fan curve to 100%.
Or can I do the other Corsair way
How much of that do you own already? I'd change almost everything
agreed
Wait which pump header is it
The one labeled CPU fan, then you go into bios and adjust the "fan" speed to be 100%
Yeah I can DM you if needed
what is you buget?
All my fans are on auto
So they goer load
Quiet
All that
But I just want to change the exhaust so I don’t have positive pressure all the time
I feel so dumb, so I had an alienware prebuilt, stole a 2080 super out of it. But then my mom needed it back as a work pc. So i had to get another graphics card, and she bought me one, the 3070ti I have. I fing hate scalpers, like i hope they die. That should tell you what my mom paid.
Like it is batter then a blower 2080 super, but still
actually just the GPU I already have a AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - Radeon RX 6800 system. got the Nvidia gpu and am considering building around it, trying to keep a $600ish budget w/o card cost obviously
Should I get this ram
For what CPU?
3600
@potent portal
Ik I would be imc limited but still
I'd get 3600 c16 for Zen2, faster infinity fabric
This is bdie I wouldn’t run xmp lol
To change the pressure in the case you can tell the Corsair software to run the exhaust fans faster
honestly, I would move the 6800 and put in the 3080ti, from what I know it is a 3090 with half the memory.
Should I do that or keep them all auto
What would u do
I have 6 intake and 3 ex
I'd usually only adjust things if I'm having problems or I want specific things to happen
A 5900x with a 3080ti would be a beast of a pc
I mean I just don’t know what to do about that cpu fan header thing
Oh yeah that's straight 14s, overclock away
I don’t want anything to happen
That’s the only thing I am worried about that’s all
As it is everything is perfectly fine as long as you're not having temp problems
How do I know if I am have it temp problems
All I know is that my fans are all set to auto
I think
Do u mean cpu temps
What temperature do your CPU and GPU hit when you're gaming or doing other heavy use tasks?
$600 on top of the gpu
Under 80 for the CPU and 90 for the GPU are well within the safe zone
If you care about ray raytracing performance or a little bit better normal performance, put the 3080ti in the 5900x build and then build a different build to go with the 6800
If you are set on the build on Pc part picker, get a better mobo and powersupply atleast
or did you win a 3060ti, because that is what is on your list
could take or leave raytracing for now... performance is big but the more i think about it i want to do a Intel/Nvidia build??
why?
just real world comparison really
and yea won the 3060
mostley gaming but also do a fair amount of video editing, no streaming no one needs to see that lol
3080ti is the best for gaming really, so I would make that my main build
ok now the big question intel or AMD? for the 3060
everything else is mehh lol
Well, the 5800x is better, but the 11700k is not bad so it would be your choice
Thank you very much sir!! youtube has got my melon spinning
The real question with a 3060ti do you want such a powerfull cpu, or have your purchased the 5800x alreadyu
Havent purchaced anything but the card
Ok, I would personally go 6 cores, if you do not want to spend all to much money
I'd even go for Intel at that point, better cost/performance at the mid/low end
What's the best CPU for your Gaming PC build in 2021? PC Centric benchmarks the Intel Core i5 11400f, i7 11700f and AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and 5800X with an RTX 3080ti!

This is a good video
Intel it porb the better choice at that point, 111400 is great value\
Yeah im leaning simi-budget already have $4000 into my current system lol
damm must be nice
You spent $4000 on the GPU?
no no no lol
Do you have a SSD already?
That would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dumb
no no that was everything AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 6800,
ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, Hardline water cooling the works it was my Im a good guy I deserve it build lol
Why did you choose the dark hero?
just to be that guy for once lol
Lmaoooo
I bought my hero because i didn’t know anything about PCs back in the day
I searched up best mobos for 3700x
And it was #2 on a list I found
😂
Hey i didnt know as much as i should but i said puck it lol
man that would kill me haha
Here's the most budget I could make a computer that will hold up to a 3080 ti, and I'm assuming you have a SSD already since you excluded it to begin with https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xb7f3Z
I haven't overclocked anything yet but im educating myself
Thank you man and yes i do have plenty of storage im kind of a external hdd & sdd hoarder....
Perfect, happy to help
Well well well looks what I found in one of the abandoned PCs at my college
Gonna pop the cpu off to see if that PSU wasn't totally overkill for this system
Z170 board, maybe you'll get lucky and it's a 7700k
Kinda seems like the fan on that 212 was put on the wrong way
If back is exaust
It pulls air away from exaust
Yea it is on the wrong way lmao
And then you have PSU exhaust there too
Im gonna try firing it up to see if the system works as it is, obviouslly ill put some ram in it first
pulling
Lol
but yea all this hardware here is very rarely touched
Pretty much nobody in the engineering majors is into PC hardware
and the newest components here is an x99 board
Z170 is a DDR4 only platform right?
Im gonna try starting up a sort of hardware enthusiast club soon
I swear if that CPU is a non k....
Oh it actually might be I forget
Imagine if a ax1600i was just chilling there
There are absolutely 0 ddr4 modules here, good thing I brought my own
QVL for that board lists 2133 as lowest speed so yeah, DDR4
early ddr4 moment
i still find it sad how all this hardware is just never used
like dang nobody gives a crap about all this stuff just sitting there that they're allowed to use if they want
freaking programmer nerds 🤓
they're all too scared to mess with hardware
lol
Their loss is your gain here clearly
^
Well not really, I cant take it home or keep it or anything
It's just sitting here
oof
still technically the college's property
That's fine, you can still bench it and stuff
I spoke with the department head that's technically responsible for this hardware, and basically he just said it's not used anymore but he cant really give it away or even sell it to students
yea for sure
My IT teacher has let me take many old systems and stuff
Still awesome to be able to tinker around with whatever
Ooh did you see what GPU it had? I hope that's a 970 at least
It's a 770 windforce
Still not bad
Yea definitely
There's another one that was sitting on a shelf that I'm going to put to use
So yeah that RM1000 is totally overkill lol
lol yup
alright im gonna try starting the system real quick, gotta plug everything in
Looks like the max rating for the memory is 3000c14 at 1.35v btw
At least according to the QVL
Maybe, but what they can do if you get on their good side is dispose of it and then turn around while you take it out of the trash. Not saying that's how I got some things from our computer club but... I was the club president lol.
Nah he said he isn't gonna get rid of pretty much any of the hardware, since he wants to keep in here in case a student might need it for something
The IT director at my school basically said he cant give it to me but he can give it to our teacher and after that he does not care what happens to it
So that's how I get old hardware and stuff sometimes
lmao
thats a huge bummer
I got a really nice Z170 board but I never got a CPU for it
big brain
Thats not the exact board
Ye, this is the one I have
I got it for like $60 open box like a year or two ago
especially since im looking for stuff I can OC with for an upcoming event
💀
I guess I can use the powersupply lol
PSU is beefy
Welp so much for that
Who's the insane person selling a 7700k for $440 https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-7700K-Desktop-Processor-unlocked/dp/B01MXSI216
I could get most of a computer with a better processor for that much
chinese x99 moment
Oh wait I see, it's that much because new
Used starts at $300
still awful lmao
The cheapest I see on ebay is $220 + shipping for a delidded one, that would be good for overclocking
(besides the broken one for $38)
All this for a processor that cost $300 when it launched in 2017
i wouldnt pay more than around 100 for it lol
although i wouldnt buy one to begin with anyway tbh
Ok well the Rm1000 works, im gonna see if this 256GB sata ssd works or has anything on it
ok it has some operating system ive never used before and it's password protected
guess ill just put it back lol
lol
Sounds like a mystery to me
prolly got windows 98 on it lol
On a SSD?
Idk if it's a branch of linux, but i wouldnt know because I've actually never bothered to try linux before
98 doesn't even do sata
No, XP SP3 is the earliest sata support
Hm I could try SLI with two of these windforce 770s
sell them
College property
theyre going for a good price rn
only 2.8k for one rn
pretty good
what a deal!
yup
Oh yea I found a 840Evo in one of the other systems aswell
for the price of a hella scalped 3090 you can get a 770
lol
probably just needs a fresh OS install though
yea ill try safe mode
And it should download the right chipset and everything
What’s a good 240hz monitor that’s 1440p or 4k
Unknown budget but something that’s of good quality and value
Looking for something reliable like m27q but with above specs
Size?
27 and 240Hz you'll want 1440p, 32 might consider 4k but 240Hz is hard at that resolution
3080ti
I was looking at the 980
but this is a steal
Even for that, unless you're doing esports games
Lmao they said 24 inches 4k🤣
🤦♂️
They’re doing esports games
Here's a good one, hits all the points https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/acer/predator-xb273u-gxbmiipruzx
They make 15" 4k on laptops
Only so they can charge more
^
I'd pitch them those 3 monitors
@celest horizon hmmm the 480 does work, i tested it again as a sanity check just in case, and it's working
must've done something wrong the last time i set it up lol
good to know i didnt brick any more hardware...
fi27q-x is a fun monitor
I have a crappy 27 inch 4k monitor
its pretty bad, its only redeeming quality is the resolution
rip
Nice for a workstation
That’s what I have on my zbook
I have a hard time using my 1080p monitor because it’s so much more pixelated
I couldn't tell the difference between 1080p and 4K on such a small screen
do you sit 2 inches away from it or what
Lol, no, weird, it seems pretty clear to me
Then again, whenever I play games I tend to take the settings down to 720p anyhow
So it’s not really worth the money
^
I like 1080p already
No need to go higher
768p is too low for me tho, I can see the pixels so clearly
I've one time had a brief moment with nitro 5
Liked the screen even tho it was crappy ips 60hz
im too used to 4k to go lower
although if its a smaller display, lower resolutions would still look fine to me lol
It's the pixel density you're used to
yea
oh god
Yikers
This good for 960 USD?
3-Fan RGB Compact M-ATX Case
AMD Ryzen 3 3100 4 core/8 thread CPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB graphics
AMD A520 chipset
16GB [2x8GB] 3200MHz RAM
240GB SSD + 2TB HDD
550W PSU | USB WiFi Adapter
Not at all
Can get a 1660s abs pre built for that
That should cost like 600
If that
@frank stirrup do you have any 1660/s abs builds? I didn't see any when I looked, and my connection sucks rn
Can't scroll for sh**
Really?
Compared to everything I've searched up this looks like a steal
Keep in mind I live in australia and we're kind of lame tech wise
Coulda mentioned aussi
If you're talking usd I assume you live in the US
What's the total budget?
1300 AUD which is 960
Yup 1 sec
The exact price of this pre built
It's an HP build right?
I recognize the pairings
alliedgamingpc. com
Do you have a pc rn?
Trash one, yea
If so what gpu is in it?
Integrated, Intel HD 4600
Oof
Buy this
