so reasonable price would be like 700$ for a 6800, maybe up to 800-900 for a 6800xt
guys is the gigabyte gtx 980 ti bad?
no
only Ryzen processors with a G or U moniker have iGPUs (the U being reserved for laptop CPUs)
does Ryzen 3 have igps without the moniker?
lemme check
oh, btw, why the 2600?
im pretty sure my pc is goona explode with my core 15 7400
why not literally any other processor?
why a 2600?
just out of curiosity
Cheap and for work
lemme find you something cheaper, newer, better
Cool
unless you only have an AM4 motherboard or anything else I should know about?
new computer
k
do u reccomend the fans that come with the cpu?
Which cpu
depends on the cpu
core i 5 10gen
11400 at 190$ chillin
generally AMD CPUs are decent, but Intel stock coolers should be avoided at all costs
Would get a se-224-xt
I am blind
oh its ooc, I didnt see it
Spent $1,645 vs spending $2,300
You're joking 11400 went out of stock just in a few hours
https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-i5-11400-core-i5-11th-gen/p/N82E16819118241?Description=11400&cm_re=11400-_-19-118-241-_-Product&quicklink=true use this with a b560 or something when its back in stock
b560 pro4 that is
Now I have to see about what I'm going to do for a GPU š¦
ah, best buy
Good luck!
This i5 can get upto 4.4GHz?
Nice, should work
Yeah, we'll need a fan for this
Deathadder v2 is nice
Noctua passive cooler approaches
Okay yes I know I dont need that cpu cooler but for the price it's a steal. And it opens up doors for upgrades later
The fella in the other chat for #peripherals-and-displays wanted my hand size and that's what he suggested so I'm going to give it a go :-"
That fella was me lol just wanted to say that I have that mouse and a similar hand size
Big hand gang
not rly, that cpu cooler is beat by a x62 even, its not really that great
hey I was wondering if anyone had an idea for some cheapish fans that have completely controllable rgb (I'm trying to do a red white and blue setup)
p12 rgb
thx
can you even find a 3060ti rn
Woulda gone for no rgb ram myself
Always need a little rgb
I cant even get a pc right now anyway I just like making myself think I can
I still have another 10k to put into my truck
Working 13 hours a day trying my best to make money before school starts again
10k for cybertruck?
this is the truck he's saving for
bruh i cant post it
post in build pics lol
yes
that is cool
yes
yes
The direct opposite of the cybertruck
ewww
Is the i7 11700k better than the 5800x
So they are close in performance
pretty close
intel Core i7-11700K vs AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
PNY GeForce RTX 3090 24GB XLR8
RAM: 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3600MHz CL16
ASUS ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming WIFI
ASUS Prime X570-Pro
CPU Cooler: Corsair iCue H150i RGB PRO
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB
Games : 1080p
Hitman 3 0:01
Assassin's Creed Valhalla 1:00
Cyberpunk 2077 2:01
Watch Dogs Legion 3:01
Horizon Zero D...
heres some quick game benchmarks
I need to change the case on the prebuilt i got and it should be relatively easy right
only times 11700k wins is when its overclocked a lot or the game optimizes it better
depends on the prebuilt
if it isnt a dell or hp then probably
Ill send the link
just gotta make sure its not proprietary
I prefer amd just because its less confusing

@wanton flicker how do you know what truck I am rebuilding?
Case and cpu cooler need to be changed and i have some spair trident z cl16 3200 ram lying around should i swap it
And i didnt pay 2200 for this it was 1600
I am doing a complete rebuild on a 1984 chevy k20 custom deluxe
i posted a picture of a funny truck
dude thats nice
Thanks
What would be a good place holder gpu
I'm trying to get the 3070 but I haven't been able to since launch
I need a pc part picker list.
I have a evga GTX 960 with 4G VRAM already.
I have a pc case I want because of it being so small (I don't have a huge area for a mid size case) InWin A1 Plus Black Mini-ITX Tower with 650W Gold 80 Plus Power Supply
Please dm me the list cuz im taking a nap ā£
I am willing to buy used products. I will be playing modded sims 4 on it and maybe Java minecraft with some packs ā£
It needs to be under 900$ for parts + monitor and keyboard. I have a laptop in mind but idk if I should have that over building a pc.
This is the laptop, I prefer ryzen over Intel ā£
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XJXJSBF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_SN0SGKRS8MVSYBHGCE00?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon.com: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15.6" Gaming Laptop 120Hz Ryzen 5-4600H 8GB RAM 256GB SSD GTX 1650 4GB - AMD Ryzen 5-4600H Hexa-core - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 - 120 Hz Refresh Rate - in-Plane S: Computers & Accessories
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HcCZYg Is it good for Ultra 1440p high frames and some 1440p editing. The games i play are DCS, Minecraft, X-plane 11, War thunder, Cod and GTA 5
I recommend a 5600x instead of a 3700x but otherwise yeah
Thatāll push high frames in those games
Maybe get a Revolution DF instead of that EVGA PSU tho
So the laptop would be fine instead of building a pc?
For what you want to do, yeah
Just donāt expect to run any Minecraft shaders or anything
Cant they get a better cooler for $90? Ir am I buggin
What would be the name of this cooler?
People need to learn to use replies
Idk Iām just asking
Cause AFAIK dark rock pro 4 is one of the best air coolers you can buy
Main difference is heat sink I believe
Both are good but Iām pretty sure DRP4 uses silver while Noctua uses copper
Silver, of course, being a better conductor of heat
I could be entirely wrong about that tho
DRP4 looks better
tbh it doesn't really matter with those things, just the performance in the end xD
like assassin 3 was advertising some crazy heatpipes that they didn't actually have iirc
yeah that was big kek
Can anyone help me make a part list with a 3060 ti my budgets 1750
Just the pc
I found this pre built with a 3060 Ti but I donāt know how well it really is for the price
what price
Itās a HP OMEN - Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 1TB SSD for 1800 with tax
1800 is steep for the specs and the omen cooler is pretty underpowered for the 5800x
but it's not the worst deal if you're desperate for a gpu
Not great
not horrible
Thinking of expensing $1-1.5k on a decent gaming laptop for when Iām away from home, what to get? Must be able to put windows 11 on it (dunno how that works with mobos from other companies)
HEY i need help
with?
so my ssd just stopped working for no reason
its not old i got in like april and its a WD black something like that
model?
i dont know man
How you sure it's broke?
Isnāt WD having some issues with drives connected to the internet?
Is that just HDDs?
external hdds
i think that's their external ones
Aight
it wont read where it shows all the memorys like c drive and a drive
which has vulnerability or something letting hackers erase them
its a M.2 ssd
Sn850 probs then
send a pic of how it was installed
send a pic of it rn
dude im not going to uninstall it from my computer i will have to do that tmr but it wont show at all in the computer but i will try BIOS right now
Not asking you to uninstall anything lol
just remove the heatsync
its 1 screw
its 2 but i will do that tmr cause its 1:56 so sorry
Why did you come for help then if you dont want it
lol
cant help you if you dont listen to what I say
idc
i thought you would help in like BIOS settings not me showing my ssd for no reason cause that doing that wont help at all i literately got it on April
there is a very solid chance it wasnt installed properly
but see if the bios detects it
theres no real option to swap around that will make the pc detect it all of a sudden
just checked BIOS and did a run test and it work dont know why it stopped working but ya it was INSTALLED properly
Can someone help me with a part list with compatible specs for a asus rtx 3070
I have a picture of it but it doesnāt let me send it in the chat
any mobo is compatible with it as long as it has a pcie slot
Pretty much everything is 'compatible' with that, what exactly did you have in mind?
need a budget
My budget is 1800 but i already have the graphics and Iām playing 878 for it so 922$
1 sec I got you
Thanks
5600x, Dark Rock Pro 4, Revolution DF 750w, P400a
and uh
32gb 3600mhz CL16 RAM from Crucial
that sounds about right
uhh 1 sec
I'd just go with a scythe fuma 2 instead of drp4 tbh
extra money, why not?
im tired
I'm going to go to sleep and hope I wake up with techie tomorrow
Yeah i was looking for one
then had to go for lunch
look list i sent
Rawr
Ik ik yeah was telling sara lol
Basically same perf tho
Pato u recognise the list right btw?
Is 980 on sale btw?
hi guys, could i get some help about tpm 2.0 and win 11?
can neither confirm nor deny
what cpu and what mobo
i have an i7 6700k and an asus z170 pro gaming
I think i only had 980 in there cus was purchased lol
Not possible
I see that makes sense
you cant do tpm 2.0
But decent prices Samsung drives are a miracle lol
True
oh cuz on microsoft page it said to cheach health on pc and if everything was checked it would soppirt win 11
but if i want to have win 11 do i need to upgrade both mobo and cpu? or can i buy a tmp 2.0 thing for my mobo?
oh i see, if i buy it will and install it, does it matter im my cpu doesnt have tpm 2.0?
no it doesnt matter
thanks! When i get this tpm 2.0 chip do i need to do something on bios and windows or will it automaticly detect it and be able to run win 11?
ok sorry for asking much, i just wanted to understand it a bit more my parents will probs ask me about it hahaha
anyone have a good suggestions for RGB case fans for a black P500a?
Arctic p12 rgb
link please? iām on my phone and iām a horrible typer
nvm, they ship one by one? donāt most fans ship in boxes of 3?
it depends
well yeah if you get it from a 3rd party dealer probably
There's a 3 pack or 1 by one
The same thing that makes regular arctic p12s amazing, they're great value and one of the best fans, just barely beaten by the nh a12x25s
so basically best price to performance?
Best overall imho
They are the fans on the arctic freezer ii, just get the rgb freezer instead if you want to do that
oh ok
so i should still get two packs though?
Nah 1 will fill up most cases if you have an aio too
Ehh idk if not it comes with a tube
oh no imma have to watch an unboxing video now
Why lol
You either get a tube with it or it has it preapplied
Just check when you get it
Okay lol
also it uses adressible RGB correct? or is it like a remote (i dont like remotes)
ok so it does come with thermal paste in a tube
also
will it still work? the P500a uses 140mm.
Adressible
Yep p500a allows for 140mm and 120mm fans
ok. so it uses software? if so, yay
Hey guys, does the Procesor AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G, 3,7/4,2GHz, 8MB Cache, 6-Core/12-Thread, AM4, Stealth Wraith hladilnik have integrated graphics?
it does
Noice!
Is this a decent build for a first gaming pc, and what storage, psu and cpu cooler should i add, also ignore the prices as they are much different in my country
ASUS MB TUF GAMING B550-PLUS, AMD AM4, DDR4, ATX This motherboard would work with it, right?
check the cpu support list on the mobo page by asus
sn550 500gb ssd, change the mobo to a b560 since b450 is bad, 3600C16 crucial ballistix ram
@next hound
Why would you use american pcpp if you arent american
MSI MAG B560 Tomahawk Wifi, this one with wifi good?
not all regions have a pcpp page lol
Ok thanks
I know that, but often part prices vary a lot sometimes dont even exist lol
There isnt pcpp website for my country
b460 will run ram at max 2666 speeds for an i5. B560 lets you go much much higher
What store / site are you buying from
thats the reason im suggesting parts and not editing the list lmaooo
Most stuff from there
Expansion slots1x PCIe 4.0 x16, 1x PCIe 3.0 x16, 3x PCIe 3.0 x1
This is the PCI slot you need for SSD correct?
Yeah your motherboard software/bios
What's your budget
depends on what ssd
1000euros, the prices in my country are very different
B460 bad boards, that gpu is astronomically overpriced
What country
Then use your countries site
The price for the gpu isnt bad in my country, i just put it there to ask if the build is good
he say ignor prices
Y u dum
There's most likely a pc part picker for your country btw
no why YOU dum
There isnt
Ahhh its so bright outside i cant read
What country
I cant read because im dum
its fine
Latvia
M.2
What psu should i get
Corsair rmx, enermax revolution df, phanteks amp, msi apg 650w if there's options for that
segotep GP
what mobo did you say u had?
Not in europe, sad
you know whats not in india
That board has 2 m.2 im pretty sure
literally anything
Lol
I feel ya ireland has f all we gotta important from Germany/uk/france/spain etc
thats where the ssd goes
does the ROG b550-f wifi have bluetooth? i cant find otu
Yes but it's overpriced
You know where I have to import from?
Where lol?
I cant
Does this have a heat sink for the SSD?
Big oof
Not needed
already got it, just wasnt sure, i dont care too much about bluethooth
Only the gen 4 ssds
The slot down there does
Ahh fair lol
controller needs to be kept cool
Corsair RMx White Series 750W (2018) BlackĀ , this psu good?
oh i have been told that the pilot - e is a great ssd, but others tell me that sn550 is better (both 1tb compacity)
i just kinda wanna find out
Yeah, any other options?
Also you really don't need 750w for a 1650 super
ill take the 750w one incase i upgrade to a better card next summer
A 3070 runs just fine on a 650w that's why i mean 750w is overkill
So should i get 650w?
I would it's usually a bit cheaper, what's the price difference/other psu options
Things can be good but stupid prices if ya get me
Corsair RMx White Series 750W (2018) Black CP-9020179-EU
This one is 125e
Corsair RMx Series 80 Plus Gold 650W this one 115e
@fossil cedar
Get the 750w then
Sn550 is better in rand(real life perf)
wqhat really is that?
Only for gen 4 is needed really
is that really saying the the sn550 is better in real world curcumstances?
ok
In the real world use sn550 better
which one do you think is better?
mk
so how does this look https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DTMXcT ? the monitors are there so i remember the name, im getting some eventuually, i dont acutally own any
gen 3 as well
Looks good
I mean it's nice to have but not needed
I suppose that would depend on ambients etc
ehhh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/76ZWht ok i finished my pcpp list for my first pc build, asking again is this good, ignore the prices and what cpu cooler should i get.?
Thatās a pretty horrible list but realistically a SE 224 XT is all you need
What should i change?^
Mobo, RAM, SSD, GPU, and probably get some fans as well
Which mobo, ram, ssd should i get, and the fans im getting i cant find on pcpp
what fans are they?
There is like 7e difference between 750w and 650w psu, so im just getting the 750w
Im still thinking on the fans, but the previous ones i couldnt find
ohhh youre not in us
check the msi mpg 750
it may be cheaper
and check the segotep gp's
MSI MPG A750GF 750W
This one is much cheaper, so should i get this?
And what is that?
Can you use https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list instead and set the custom prices for your country because it's really hard to recommend without the proper prices
Tbf they live in latvia
where you do live
I live in Ireland why?
ye
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/xPpDW3 i have the exact prices saved on my laptop, but these are the about prices
yeah true
so what games are you hosting?
okay so you'll need good single core
the 1950x wouldn't have done too good at that
Okay, is there an 11400(f) available in your country for a decent price? And is there any ballistix ram for around the same price/cheaper than the corsair ram?
GMOD and Minecraft will probably get eradicated once SBOX and Hytale are out
I'm also gonna be hosting a webserver off of it btw
website
Do you plan on using windows or linux?
ok
What cpu is it? Flite said 1950x, which is thread ripper
Procesor Intel Core i5-11400F, 4.4GHz, 12MB, BOX (BX8070811400F)
There is this one for 170e
Procesors Intel® Core⢠i5-11400F 2.6GHz 12MB BOX
And this one for 200e, dont know the difference but these are the prices
@fossil cedar None, I don't own any CPU's yet - we're discussing what I should use
They both say they're boxes
I thought about a 1950x but we decided against it for what I was going to use it for
Everyone of the cpus say thay they are boxes, idk
what website are you looking at?
Ive set my ram to xmp profile in bios, 3600 mhz, yet when I go into task manager it shows default speed of 2400mhz, how do I fix?
Double check bios
I have
Does your CPU or motherboard allow up to 3600mhz
yes
what cpu/mb?
What CPU and motherboard do you have
z590-f and i9 10850k @smoky jay
never heard of those. what country are you in?
Latvia
you buy a cpu for ur rig yet?
not yet :/
@runic flare your cpu only supports up to 2933 mhz
ye
7th gen kinda dead but for the price that's worth it
no it doesnt
link?

can I overclock or adjust that?
he is
@smoky jay i'm still working on your server i didn't forget lol
you can run 3200 or 3600 or whatever you wanna run
@formal plover lol
When I select 3600 in bios task manager still shows 2400?
like when you exit or after you select it?
Is it alright to install windows installation media on a 7.20gb usb stick that says 8gb on the actual stick ?
When I exit and boot
if windows media creation will install to that then itll work
windows will stop you if its too small
Oke thanks
you saving and exiting?
Yes, I've gone back into bios and checked and it still says 3600mhz
what slots is your ram in?
ok good
So how do I get ram speeds working?
weird task manager isnt showing it at 3600
uhhh
you could install hwinfo64 and see what it says
XMP 1 or 2 in bios?
prolly 1
you arent doing anything crazy with overclocking right?
2 is for the crazy overclock ppl
Yeah I'm not
I used to live in Lithuania so pog
any idea why task manager would show ram speed as 2400 when bios has it at 3600?
im thinking task manager may just be dumb
CPU-Z it real quick
yeah i reccomended hwinfo64 since thats what i use
Alright, do I just Google that for download?
Nah Ive got it dw
alright
Can rookies/people without roles still not send pics?
Sure but Idk where it is in HWiNFO, only CPU-Z
I donāt use HWiNFO a lot
I might know where it is tho
So go ahead
Hey @runic flare
Whatās the name of your board
And CPU
z590-f
i9 10850k
CPU only allowes ram up to 2933 but he said i can put up to 3600
What does that mean?
Sometimes the motherboard chipset throttles ram because it can only handle so much speed
More common on 400-series motherboards from Intel
So how would I fix?
@smoky jay how much storage does the server need?
Says motherboard supports up to 5333 MHz tho?
what does memory clock say in hwinfo
I've never had an issue with task manager misreporting ram speed so it's weird
One sec
1200
Yes I don't have photo perms
@formal plover I was gonna do 1-2 tb
wack
looks like it's still jedec
does it take any longer to boot or visibly restart during boot process when you apply xmp
no, jedec goes up to 3200
@smoky jay also are you using ethernet? if so, what speed?
I have a 3200c22 jedec kit in my laptop
JEDEC minimum via BIOS I mean
...?
I haven't noticed anything I don't time it
Whatever, letās move on
2133 is the most common
Yes help me fix
2400c17, 2666c19, 2933c21, 3200c22 also exists
Alright yes that's great but help would be much appreciated thanks kings
I mean.. what I'm saying is directly rated to finding your issue
Yes but I don't understand any of it lol
it's not that the board is just deciding to apply 2400
it's stuck at default spec
which for your ram is NOT 2133
you should time the boot after applying 3600 see if it takes longer
could be failing to boot xmp and then falling back to default as a safety measure
some boards will tell you that boot failed
some will just auto apply default spec
I would appreciate if you didn't tell me to move on when I'm helping with the issue
thanks :)
we were arguing about what the jedec standard was
I wasnt telling you to move on from helping someone
but ok
It's 10 seconds slower when I apply 3600mhz
yeah probably failing to boot
but I was saying that his build is running jedec
you're the only one trying to argue
:)
@runic flare could you apply xmp and then manually set ram voltage to 1.4v?
see if that will work
1.4v is still safe so don't worry about that
sometimes boards droop a bit below set voltage
so it's possible that's why it won't boot
@formal plover gig
alright
the motherboard has integrated 2.5Gb
@smoky jay https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X6kqF8
here's what I came up with
Do I have to do manual profile for that? XMP 1 doesn't show voltage options
Game servers like single core performance and lots of ram
Thanks @formal plover
no problem
the cpu has an igpu but I left an available thing for a gpu
oh yeah and remember to put pics in #build-pics when you build it
Will do
@runic flare look around in the bios it'll be somewhere in oc tab
@earnest olive DMs
When running a loop would you say it's ideal to run more than a 360mm for a 9900k and 3090?
yeah for sure
a 9900k alone can overload a 360 rad depending on workload
I'd do 360 cpu 240 gpu
2x 240 enough if you only game probably
@earnest olive thanks, was thinking the 240 and 360 but was a bit unsure if it was overkill, much appreciated!
360 cpu 240 gpu will cover you for everything you can throw at it easily
240 each will be okay
360 for both is a bit iffy but shouldn't explode or anything
just at that point you might as well aio
I have a 360 and 240 so I will use them
yeah sounds good
Thanks again!
Hello! anybody know if this motherboard https://www.newegg.com/asus-tuf-gaming-x570-pro/p/N82E16813119353 will need an update or anything or will work straight out of the box for a ryzen 7 5800
That's fine, when i ordered 11400 for my bro on Amazon france it said 11400 box and it was from the official intel so just a weird translation thing i think
Aight, thanks
I would go b550 tuf btw it's cheaper and same pretty much
@shadow crypt it's hit or miss
sometimes you get old stock that isn't updated
sometimes you get new stock
usually it'll be updated
but the good news is that it has bios flashback
hm ok
I will look into it
I was a bit sus but it was official intel and Amazon have great customer service anyway
Donāt all ASUS boards have EZFlash on them so you donāt even need to have a CPU installed to update BIOS or is that just the higher end ones
never all boards, flashback is only on some boards
for example, x570-plus doesn't have flashback, x570-pro does
B550 TUF has flashback, B550 Strix doesnāt (I think)
Really? Ew
Ahh ok, itās just a useful feature Iād expect ASUS to put it on all modern boards
it's a feature I'd expect everyone to put it on all modern boards
and the brand that's been best at it has been msi
Gigabyte close behind
(mainly on getting flashback on most low end boards)
Gigabyte is nice with the whole dual bios
Asus makes up for it by quickly flashing their own boards, but they should still include it as a standard feature
I mean bios flashback is useful for way more than just the bios version you get
True
debugging, ocing, quickly testing things
ASUS RMA really was nice by getting my board back to me within a week when the board got messed up during a BIOS update
And updated it to the newest version at the same time
my b550 steel legend doesn't have it
I have spare zen 2 cpu but it came with the first bios to support 5000 out of the box
interesting cooler
The V5 is about the same performance as the SE-224 and such, the cheap good ones
can anyone suggest some good looking rgb dims (2x16) that are reasonably priced? i donāt know much about ram, but i do know i donāt wanna spend 210+
crucial ballistix rgb 2x16gb 3600mhz cl16
the P500a can fit 3 120mm fans on the top, right?
other than that lol, iām asking for a backup really
if the ram prices raise like they did a couple years ago
Ballistix best and no other 3600cl16 rgb for that price
They already went up, if you're looking more than 1/2 months in the future, there's not much point, look again then as things change a lot
what you mean by this? i will prob but ram when i go down to MC
*2nd sentence wasnāt relevant to the question
Ram is generally cheaper on Newegg than at Micro Center.
Ohh i thought you were trying to make a list to buy for not a few months because some people do that
really?
From what I've seen ye
i already have bough my sata ssd, mobo and cpu, and case
Mc good for gpus and cpus afaik that's about it
fair
should i only go down for gpu then?
cause thatās rlly the whole reason iām going down
That's fine lol just some people want to make lists for 4,5 months in the future and there's like no point lol
Ye
to be fair i started it last year with a 9900k š
the lost
lost
All of the Micro Centers now have a drawing for a GPU buying opportunity in the morning before the store opens. That's how I got my 3080 last Thursday.
yeah
i need to find someone thatās been to the MC in cambridge cause thatās where im going
Most people who entered the drawing got the opportunity to buy a card. They had a lot of cards that day.
i knew very little about some stuff
It's really your best shot at getting a card.
AMD is fine these days.
ik
what store?
imma guess new york
I'm in Houston, TX.
I never could get there early enough to camp, and the weather never cooperated, either. The new system really came through for me.
I won on my first attempt.
Amd 5800x and up are the best consumer cpus hands down over intel
The card finished my build. It's just a shame that I could no longer return my temporary card, a GT 1030 to Best Buy. That window ended the day before I got the 3080.
I've got a 5950X and I'm loving it.
i just feel like cause it the clossst to a lot of people and there will be little stock
in mass
Just get there at 9 a.m. and enter the drawing. Then, they'll call names in the order the machine picked them and line you up. At 10 a.m. you'll go in and get a card.
The names get called after 9:30 when the entry window closes.
The employees at the Houston store really knew how to keep things orderly and efficient.
The 5900X is a great chip, too. However, all of that stimulus money meant that I had room in the budget for the 5950X
is itvlike that for every store?
where a MC in maine
For your RAM use 3600 not 3200 you will increase performance
its 10th gen intel... it wont take that much of a difference
True but it's better to get the 3600 so if future upgrades
He can get 3600 for not much more
It'll make a difference but not at the magnitude an AMD system would
Next gen is all likely going to be ddr5 so keep that in mind
It's like saying now you should upgrade from one fx chip to another instead of go from fx to like Zen 3
Why lol?
Making an analogy for updating already out of date hardware when newer hardware (ddr5 and such) would have been available already
Keep in mind Latvia might have stoopid prices for 3600 lol
So in the future, upgrading (by then) years old hardware with other years old hardware doesn't really make sense
Ahhh that's fair lol
I've upgraded from a Core i7 3630QM laptop to a Ryzen 9 5950X desktop. 8 years between upgrades mean that my new system feels like a gigantic leap forward.
lol thats a hugeeee upgrade
fr
Anyone have any idea why I wouldent get display with a 3090 9900k on a z390 edge mpg
they would all be compatable, i think at least
so possible a DOA
does it have debug led
oh yea
or post code
Nope
msi should have debug led
jeez I hope your 3090 is not dead..
fr
that would be suck^2
I have a vertical gpu mount
ohh
I hope it maybe that
yeah boot it without riser first
wait how would you be using onboard graphics with a 9900k
9900k has on bored
this good idea
oh i thought it didnāt
True it just dosent fit in my case the other way with a waterblock xD
I had tested it all and thats why I was getting a bit worried
But I figured it out!
I didmt triple check the seating xD
oh nice glad it works
be sure to post in #build-pics
I love seeing hardline loops
Ill.post it soon I have sys prep in it atm before I run my actual coolant
Alright got a new issue lol, this one is throwing me off hard, ram slot 1 and 2 if any ram is inserted I get a dram light 3 and 4 have no issues, tried single ram in each slot and no matter what 1 and 2 throw a debug
bruh
the bad news is that that could be either CPU or board
CPU failures are rare though unless you bought it used
Cpu was new, this bored had a 1070 on it 2 days ago and was working fine with all 4 sticks, so it's kinda blowing my mind that it's not reading slot 1 or 2,
Like the socket light above is showing its inserted and the rgb on the ram is going but just whenever anything is in the slots now I get the debug
is it the same 4 sticks as before?
CPU might have a defective memory channel
Can it just go bad tho out of nowhere?
always a chance for new items to be defective
I know this all too well
once had 6 defective brand new items in a single build
The 9900k was on the bored with the 1070
that was really fun to diagnose
oh
hmm
maybe you accidentally bent a pin related to memory?
while doing the swap?
did you even take the cpu out
wait
you had no reason to
Yeah lol
idk then maybe you somehow accidentally damaged a trace on the board
Hopfully not,
did you try a cmos clear
Doing that now actually
good luck I'm gonna eat now
Thanks for the help! Enjoy the food!
enjoyed it indeed
pizza crust stuffed with sweet potato is interesting
any luck?
diy test bench
damn @terse tiger thats a really clean build nice job
i like where you put the screen too
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NkrtGq can anything be changed? Hate to be that guy lol
i would suggest a Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 for a 5900x, thats what im personally building. You also dont need that expensive of a mobo really, i got a $200 one. Final thing is that that SSD is a horrible deal compared to other NVMe SSDs. I would suggest a sn550 or pilot-e. that case also doesnt have much air flow from prior experiences, I would suggest chaning it.
how about this one
im up for changes
just need the cpu, gpu and my white theme to stay the same
looks great, but the Liquid Freezer II retail for around 130 USD and i a top preformer for 5th gen ryzen from what ive heard
and i think it comes in white
oh nvm it doesnt
aww
gaming, streaming, and prolly video editing once i learn
this is my list, and ive put 6 months of research into it. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DTMXcT
kind of a reference
i plan on doing the same thing,
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-Strix-Gaming-Motherboard/dp/B08F9VP2RC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=A6ZJCYP8Z2RK&dchild=1&keywords=white+motherboard+amd&qid=1625026514&s=electronics&sprefix=white+m%2Celectronics%2C207&sr=1-2 this is a better price and is still white

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MjVbMv this is what i got suggested from another server
granted not quite as much conectivity
thats a lot better, thats the case i went with ;)
i have my moms old fractal case
set your 5900x for 550 USD and 3090 for 900 just for a refernce price btw
ah
if you want
its the arc midi R2
its discontinued of course
but holy.
its amazing to build in
imma go to bed ill talk to you in the morning ping me if needed
all right myman
id go 2x16 ram tbh
its cheaper and better upgrade path
i want my computer to last a few years.
thats why i picked 32
Also, since im getting double my current core count i should be fine running more apps in the background
im also saying to get 32, just instead of 4x8 go for 2x16
same capacity
i dont think id need to upgrade ram
id probably would upgrade an entire build before i need more/ new ram
2x16 is easier on the memory controller too, overclocks better than 4x8
no maybe about what they said
2x16 easier to run and also probably a little cheaper
Yeah I've been seeing good 3600c16 32gb kits for around $160 lately, not bad at all per gb
ive never built amd. I know higher frequency is better for AMD should i go 3200 or 3600?
3600 with 16 (or ideally 14) cas latency
Should be around $80-$90 for 16gb
$160 for 32gb
There's literally a 15% increase possible in fps going from 3200 to 3600
Can anyone name a good EarBuds with a good mic at a reasonable price range
I use these, fairly decent and not a bad price https://www.walmart.com/ip/Soundcore-True-Wireless-Earbuds-with-Charging-Case-White-AK-A3902021/737517526
No complaints from other people about mic quality on calls or discord chat
There is no Realtek option even though I plugged my headphone in
hey i am kinda new to the pc community but i have a optiplex 780 and have ok stuff but is it worth upgrading the power and other things or in vest in a more upgradable rig i am on a budget of like 500
us dollars
The cables
Thats not a build
Thats wires
Lmao
After building the PC I have with me I just don't understand how people can leave their cables so messy
i know
What port is it plugged into and do you have the drivers installed
Same
My cables aren't really pretty but they're at least routed in the right spots lol
i have an o11d mini snow edition so the black cables are
pretty clashing with the case
but at least its mostly neat
Pic for proof
1 sec lemme find my phone
It is plugged into the front port
Flash
And the drivers?
need to get a white mobo and ram
The pc is not recognizing the device
That cable is why i have anxiety
Didn't fit on the front side of the case with the front panel connectors so I had to put them on the inside lol
Looks fine ish
hahaha it rests just above the fans
I would just have front to back fans tho, nof that an o11d can do that
whenever i next crack open my pc ill adjust it
i had to put them in a weird position because they kinda got stuck that way from my old case
they should be formed to this new thing now tho
I might get a set of extensions
The PCIe and 24 pins are kinda bulgy
And the second 6+2 just sits there lol
Buy Asiahorse Customization Mod Sleeve Extension Power Supply Cable Kit 18AWG ATX/EPS/8-pin PCI-E/6-pin PCI-E (White): Power Cables - Amazon.com ā FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases
wait wtf they made them so cheap??
they were $40 back when i bought them
Asiahorse š³
strong extensions
Strongly good at fire
nah
I also want to get a USB 3.0 header elbow type thing so the cable doesn't stick out so much
i need one of those so bad
atx mobo in an o11d mini
with the only usb 3 header on the bottom
asiahorse is a reputable brand
also, it is not that difficult to make cables
I thought they caused issues? Mb I'm thinking of someone else
Buy Xiwai USB 3.0 20pin Male to Female Extension Adapter Down Angled 90 Degree for Motherboard Mainboard: Connectors & Adapters - Amazon.com ā FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases
I read that as xiaomi lol, are the phones doing that bad X)
@fossil cedar possible you heard of boot issues with their pcie risers but that's all gen 3 risers paired with gen 4 cards, not limited to asiahorse
Idk mb i tripping i tired lol
I've heard of plenty of asiahorse dissing
Probably thrown around here and there on this discord
Asiahorse are usually ok as long as the gauge of the wire matches the load you plan to put through it
that's true of any cables
There's also fake ones going around (hearsay, nothing confirmed I've seen) where they use an extra thick shielding to fake the wire gauge size being bigger
i've gone much cheaper than asiahorse with no issues

$18 funtin cable set's 8-pin EPS had no problem supplying 250W cpu power to an 8700K
Pro tip: avoid aliexpress cheap stuff for critical components
and the 8+6 pin has no problem feeding 215W to a 5700XT
Do asia horse make custom cables or just the extensions? I'm pretty sure i was thinking of custom cables lol
extensions
:o that's a linus level tip right there XD
Only 215? I hope that's 290 including slot power
no, 215 total
i didn't test more but i'm sure it would be fine
if you really want i can humor you and toss them onto my 3080
Well that means it's only pulling about 165-170W through both an 8 pin and 6 pin connection š
140-150 even, I can't math this late
sure but i never said that was the limit of the cables
just that i've validated that to work
very long term as well
That's far from a torture test is all I'm saying
it's the same power as a 3070
I don't doubt they'd work with more current
you'd have to up to 3080+ or rx 6800 to push much higher
at that point you have the money to not buy $18 cables if you're scared
Lol
Even most 3080s aren't going to stress those cables tbh, with the load spread across 2-3 sets of cables and 75W from the slot
