It's actually not that bad. I have it overclocked to 3.8ghz with 16gb of ram. I also have an awesome Asus motherboard to pair it with. Games actually run ok on it. The only game that stutters occasionally is fortnite, but that game sucks anyway.

2060 may be as irrelevant as the 5500XT now, but as they always say, beggars can't be choosers. If he needs a new computer now, that 2060 would be enough for all but the most intense applications, and I would not recommend running anything higher than 1440p, and it would tide him over until the card shortage lifts and cards become available again

I also did some research. There are two versions of that computer. Only difference between them is the CPU. The one he linked to has the Intel Core i5-11400F, but the other one I found has a Ryzen 5 3600. The Ryzen one is $50 more, but I use the 3600 myself and I haven't found a game yet that can max it out.

During BIOS update power got cut via circuit breaker to my room (pesky family) was on about 48% and upon rebooting i find all power going to fans as well as GPU fans + leds turning on. no POST tho or BIOS flash, which was quite upsetting. CPU is 2600X and purchased motherboard: B450 Steel Legend on May 28 2020, so around 1 year and one month of usage. (not sure if warranty covers that) but i did purchase from amazon, so idk how that will play into things. any suggestions on what i should do?
- try and see if asrock can let me RMA it
- purchase tool that clamps onto the bios chip of the motherboard and try to update it/flash through their with an arduino/pi
- purchase new motherboard

@tiny cape I bought a nice hub that has 12 3-pin argb headers
comes with a female to female cable that you can link to your motherboard
and it uses that as an input to sync all 11 other headers
and sata power to provide power to the other headers
so I have motherboard sync on 10 argb things off of a single header
it also mounts magnetically to my case (and is strong enough to hang from the top)
