Yea that's y I was asking incase he acc was gonna use it for soemthing useful
Guys any body know to solve this issue
What's the problem
@junior sky 10/10 mouse mat
I KNOW
Faxx lmaooo
does anyone know when GPU prices will go down, if not does anyone know a good place to buy PC parts in Europe for a relatively good price.
another year
Or more give or take
yeah. Its not just the miners that are causing this. Lots of factors. The deeper question is: will manufacturers/reatilers ever bring prices down, considering the bank they are making in this situation?
could be 2 years
Thanks for the answers, that definitely gives me an idea for when they will go down.
is rxt 2080 super good for mining?
no. what you need for mining is a pick axe and a shovel, and when you get good, a Drag Line Excavator
yes, ofc! how could I forget
hangs head in shame
In all honesty around 43-45MH/s at 125W
Or 130W
Depends on the card cooler and design
That's what my not super 2070 is getting, 45MH at 112W. No way the 2080 super can't beat that.
Oh lol my bad
Might of messed up the name
Oops
It's totally not 1am for me and I'm totally not half awake
ehhh its fine
I’m doing an intel 11th gen build, will I need a bios update for a new h570 board? Just wondering as Ryzen 5000 I had to update bios for 500 series board.
you should check the site for the specific board you want to get. The reason the AMD boards needed updates is because the X570 boards were released with Ryzen 3000 series. I am pretty sure the H570 boards were released specifically for 11th gen and should not need updates
Thanks!
no you dont
if an update is available then just do a flash there is no reason not to
its quick and easy
I was just asking as the build is a mini itx, and I don’t think the board I’m choosing has a bios flash feature, along with other boards at the price point and size
whats the board?
yo check my list out and let me know if i need to make changes.https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7WhDvf
get 3600mhz ram, and an SSD
And something other than a $600 3900X, 5800x or 5900x. That 3900x is way overpriced, $449 is MSRP
didnt see that. yes. thats overpriced
oops
So, what do you guys think of this? Ignore incorrect prices, it's 923 in where I live in atm
A prebuilt ofc, not my choice of hardware
Just made the list for convenience's sake
I'm aware of that, sadly
In the current situation it's not bad for $950
It's in thai, but you should be able to see it in picture I suppose
That CPU cooler needs replaced asap though XD
For a grand it should do 1440p OK, I had a 2060 doing it
mmm
it is what it is
I actually don't plan to game, but to mine
Oh, to mine
$5 a day for a 2060
eth?
Right now yes
Mhmm
I'm planning to do eth and betterhash
Nicehash gives me less than betterhash anyway
Might do chia on the 2tb wd blue, idk
And hold onto it
Trying to compare two ASUS laptops for video-editing. Looking for feedback. ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 and ASUS VivoBook K571.
Checked out specs, clearly touchpad and 4K, but outside of that wondering if those features are worth the gap in the $ and changes functionality that much.
Depending on the price, Zenbook is better. IDK what price you're paying though
Guess you said Newegg......
Yeah, Newegg one is scalped also
Third part seller
Check this out on @Newegg: Newt HP OMEN 15.6" FHD IPS Premium Gaming Laptop | AMD Ryzen 7 4800H | 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti | Backlit Keyboard | Windows 10 Home https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000D-0DD38?Item=9SIAEYJD243432&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-9SIAEYJD243432-_-05102021 hmm
That or perhaps something with a 3060 for rendering https://www.newegg.com/black-asus-tuf-gaming-fx516pm-gaming-entertainment/p/2WC-000N-03SD5
The one I posted is only 1080 p......hmmmm.....
I struggle so much with HP, but HP Omen, good?
None of these laptops are sold and shipped by Newegg.....
Which means the price might be elevated
I have never purchased tech from Amazon. How sketch is it?
Theoretically speaking if i wanted to build a machine just for mining wats a good build example
As long as it's sold and shipped by Amazon, it's fine
Cheapest CPU and motherboard you can get with as many PCI-E slots as you can get. CPU doesn't matter for mining
Do u need a case for mining?
Nope
Alr thx
@muted patio you are seriously wealth of knowledge! Thank you so much!
YW
@echo vale building a mining rig is extremely hard right now. You are better off trying to buy used 8gb 480/580 GPU's off of reddit and build a 6-8 gpu rig with those. Its extremely hard to get the new generation GPU's at their retail price.
since i already have a 17 8700k would tht work fine?
Yes
You don't need a case per say, but you will at least need a frame.
kk
Yes, prob overkill for mining tho
yeah
He said cheapest cpu is fine, make sure the socket in the MOBO is correct with the cou
Cpu*
It is
if i manage to get one lol
It and the 3070 get the same hash rate
It’s 8gb no?
ahh kk
SOmewhere around 60 MH/s
Do u mine?
Crank up the memory clock, decrease the core clock, lower power limit or play with the V/F curve
Yes, I mine
Yeah, 3060ti and 3070 have about the same. The 3070 can get about 1-2 MH/s better than the 3060ti, but that is really negligible.
Well, I will say that reference 3-fan 3070's can do better than 3060ti's. My 3070 FE sticks right at 61 but my 3070 vision gets 62-63, 62 consistently.
For some reason good 3070 laptops can get like 67 mh/s
Wait what should I use for minig I have a 3060 ti
Nicehash or Trex miner
Idk that much abt mining
Then /24 * 10
someone recommanded it here and it seems pretty good and accurate
Rn payouts are crazy and you can make like 7 bucks in 10 hours
also dependso on ur electricity costs
Yep ether go brrrrr
but thats not sustainable in the long term is it?
No
yep
If eth keeps going up then payouts should stay up but eth is going to correct and come down sooner or later
Ethereum classic is also doing really well
You'll still make profit, I've made 5€ in the last 16 hours or so and my elec is 20c/kwh
Ehh i don't trust classic it's had to many 51% attacks
Sheesh
I live in Canada Ontario electrical bills oveenight r really cheap
You should just mine whenever you're not gaming/using gpu imo
Hash rate is really high lol
Exactly
yea exactly
0.085
Ok
Mine when you’re at work or school and when you’re sleeping
Why not do all day
Profits going up
Apart from gaming/using gpu
Reason: Bad word usage
id say it should be around 7 cad a day on average
Yea ill check today and I heavily tweaked my pc will that make my hash rate higher
Only if you tweaked gpu mem up
Over clocking also really helps
Yeah when doing homework and stuff on computer I still just let it mine
how good is ur cooling btw?
Not the best
Underclock GPU core, OC VRAM
Lower power limit
My GPU was runnig at 85 c in a benchmark
Dont need good cooling really, you drop the power limit by a lot, and drop the core until you start using hashrate then put back up
When I’m playing low graphics games like rocket league I still make 45 mh/s so I leave it running then, but when I’m playing a game that’s more graphically dependent, then I shut it off
That's not right, change your fans curve
ye, maybe he can take side panel off or smt if thermal throttling is an issue?
Yea if I’m heavy mining my 3070 hits 50-60c max
Only needed for 3090s, probs means its not well tuned, my core remains 35-40c when mining
70% is good for mining
Oh ok
oh alr alr
I'd up your fans a bit that's too hot for core
I also have an extra fan blowing on the back of the card to get some air over it
Yea
I don't even
I try to keep it quieter as i sleep near my pc
But my case has a lot of fans and airflow
70% is still plenty quiet for me while i sleep
you think it's better to keep the gpu at a lower temp? (like 40) or does it not matter?
60c is too hot for core, as mem gets way hotter while mining
True
Yes because your mem gets hot while mining not really gpu
ohhh
Mhmm, if I wanna mine on closed front case, do I need to leave front panel off?
so taking off side panel helps?
Just to give it best airflow
It’s not really necessary if you have a lot of fans
Ideally yes
But it helps
Mhmm
The case's got 3 fans on the front, 1 for exhaust
Should work well with the front off
You should prob make it two and two
It helped my temps a bit, i had an nzxt s340 and that helped by like 5 or more degrees
Also helped with noise
Not a huge amount, only if you have a 3090 really
Tweak your case fans in bios so it runs faster with cpu temps
oh alr
Hopefully my 3060tis will come in soon, I’m excited to build mining rig
The thing is if it hard panel front the fans don't do 💩 really no air to push in
im still looking for a 3060ti lol
I should probably turn the rgb off with front panel off
And yeah the front is solid lmao
Tempered glass
Oof
I backordered like 2 months ago
Case in question is tt v250 tg argb
doesn't work now i was too late
It looks stunning, but trash airflow lol
What are you going to mine with?
but the 3060ti FE at best buy in cad is actually not too hard to get
Rlly
yea apparently
cpu overkill but whatever, it's a prebuilt
not too sure tho
10400f lol
I got lucky with a bundle at Newegg
Canada computers had a few 3090s and 3070s when they just got realesed
more than half went to linus LMFAO
I should have bought 1 lol
So I just have a spare 750 watt psu lying around
A retail in town here has a nice prebuilt
Lmfao
I just need dad to ask em
And go out to get the machine I suppose
Not for free of course
Can I just get 2x 3060 TI and have a 3090 for half the price? And run dual GPU?
3060ti doesnt have nv link, not worth it for 2x
3060i doesnt have nv link iirc
also SLI is dead
Most of the time 2 gpus in crossfire/sli performs worse than a single gpu anyway
Also that's not how it works lol
AMD crossfire is dead as well
Reason: Bad word usage
Well thats sucks.
Ehh not really to my knowledge 2 gpus in sli/crossfire that weren't the top of the line cards never really would be a smart move because more expensive than higher model and similar/not as good perf
Link an nvlink costs like 80$
Sli ded
Crossfire ded too probably
Usually decreases performance for any consumer application compared to a single card
@little osprey WOW, those white EVGA cards look AMAZING!😎
It's custom painted

I’m finally getting around to planning out my mini itx build
NVME screws are evil
I keep trying to get it in the standoff and it either bounces off or I drop it.
How, how do you get it in there?
And since I'm working next to a drive, I can't just go find a magnetic screwdriver I imagine.
A magnet that weak shouldn’t really affect I don’t think but idk to be safe I guess not. I always just use a magnetic one
My cpu has glue on it does this mean its fake?
I swear I need three hands. One to hold down the NVME, another to hold the screw, and another to hold the screwdriver
Hold the nvme down, place screw, keep holding down, then screw in
that's new
And I'm still worried I've damaged it from my multiple attempts to install it.
looks like silicon sealant to me
did you get a second hand?
A second hand cpu?
Doesnt really matter tbh
magnet tip screwdriver not strong with the force
yeye, use magnetic screwdriver tip, won't affect drive.
unless you have some crazy magnet in your screwdriver
Like did you buy it used from someone or buy from an authorised shop
Used yeah
might just be leftover thermal paste someone didn't clean off
Is it normal for dry thermal paste to look like got glue?
Could be a delid and then reseal
I mean
there's all kinds of paste so who knows
usually not hot glue looking
maybe delid
but
delid on AMD is wack
What cpu?
I originally bought a ryzen 5 3600
just wait until you have a gpu tbh, looks like 2600 maybe
3600x, ye, no igpu
I did go find a fridge magnet to use for grabbing screws when I drop them on the floor from now on
oh hey, that's a later chip
I guess ill have to wait and see until i get my graphics card
I mean, using a magnet like to grab the screws when I've dropped them won't permanently magnetize the screw or anything?
Considering it takes about a 100+ slippy slides on a neodymium magnet to induce weak magnetism, keeping screws on a magnet wont do a thing
(Not near the mobo, I'm talking purely using it to get them off the floor. I'm near-sighted and the darn things are tiny
I wish I knew where Mom stowed the magnetic-tipped screwdrivers.
I think my fingers are just too thick to hold this screw in place until I can get the screwdriver there
I hate my hands right now
The more i fight with this the more tempting the idea of not bothering with this cursed screw and just letting the heatsink hold it in place becomes
Does this look like a standard m2 standoff?
Ya
This actually an M2 screw or do I have the wrong thing again?
We'll see if it screws in nicely to ur standoff
@remote pewter you forgot to put on the ssd heatsync in the build you posted in #build-pics
Pls fix
I didn't get one
wat
It doesn't need one
Look #build-pics
Top slot usually doesn't have a heatsync
Nvme doesn't need heatsink
And it doesn't need one lol
The mobo usually comes with one
It's a 550 xD
It's a b450 tomhalk
Sn550 is nowhere close to needing one
Still recommended
Not rly
Not ur 400€ motherboard
I dont have a 400€ mobo lol
Ok
I've been fighting to get the screw in and just keep failing.
Mine did not come whith heatsink
It it won't go in then it's not it
ye
got a new mb how do i solve this?
And if it did i may of threw it out
Mine didn't come with one either so
yaknow
You didn't
I mean
Even my 200 dollar mobo didn't have one on top slot
So, I'm back to "freaking MSI forgot to include m2 screws in this mobo box"
sn550 prob doesn't need it
Any gen 4 would for sure
My vrms don't need one
..?
They never get hot
we be talking about SSD?
Ok
If it's a higher perf one
I really wish there was a computer parts store around here so I could just run and get some bleeping screws.
I only go nvme cuz my last ssd broke at the sata connector
slap in a 5950x and those VRMs will get hot
Order online
Go into bios select boot order
I really want to get this build done before my returns windows run out if something is busted
Just use tape
Or any screw that's fits
I'm debating at this point just letting the heatsink hold it down
wait
if you have a heatsink
that's more than enough to hold it down
imo
(mobo heatsink)
My sn550 heats up quite a bit
I don't care
Someone told me the other day not to do that because I'd break the drive if I ever take the heatsink off
The power draw on it isn't high @frank stirrup
Mine doesn’t have bottom slot
And most don't have a temp sensor for the controller, which actually matters
most have temp for nand
and you want nand to be warm
Ya
Ive seen temps up to 70-80 degrees on my 550 without a heatsync
@frank stirrup reported by what
Those temps are fine
The wd dashboard app
Ah
Reason: Duplicated text
you're kidding
bot
When moving a few hundred gigabytes of data around, to and from the drive, peak temps reported in at just over 70 degrees Celsius. However, manually measuring with our infrared thermometer, we saw both the NAND package and controller barely hit 61 degrees Celsius and the drive didn’t exhibit any thermal throttling at the time.
When it comes to heat, the WD Blue SN550 does a pretty good job at keeping cool with static air (no airflow) within our 25 degrees Celsius testing environment. WD specifies that the SSD will throttle performance if it surpasses the rated operating temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.
My pc doesn't even know what the smart health of my drives are
smh
Not when you dont have it at full utilisation
What kind of tape would be safe?
Electric
Ok
@frank stirrup but anyways I'm assuming it's just measuring nand not controller
which they usually do
See my ambient is over 35 degrees
35 is minimum
That would likely be way too sticky and ruin the drive
yeye
and see what they said about what the readouts from the drive compared to what they measured
anyways
It goes to like 70 degrees with only chrome and a windows install
and again
from the drive, peak temps reported in at just over 70 degrees Celsius. However, manually measuring with our infrared thermometer, we saw both the NAND package and controller barely hit 61 degrees Celsius and the drive didn’t exhibit any thermal throttling at the time.
Yeye
anyways
Yeah but thats tested at 25C ambient
that's not what I was trying to point out
My ambient is atleast 10C more
I'm talking about software readout being dumb
But yeah i see ur point
Okay, I'm sick of this and am just going to use the heatsink to hold the drive down. I'll order m2 screws to fix it properly later and pray the drive doesn't break when I take the heatsink off.
why would it break
Just personally i prefer to use the heatsync since I have it
It's like using userbenchmark for comparing stuff lmao
Its not gonna break unless you use superglue or something
Could if it gets stuck to heatsync good enough
Without being secured
Maybe
Mine was stuck onto my drive pretty good
I actually had to put some force to get it off
Ehh drives are pretty robust, worse you could do would probs be fling it a bit while taking it off I'd say
If you don't use m.2 screw and just the heatsink apparently
I mean
So, next step is to put the cooler on. After swapping the mounting brackets for the cooler ones
oh well
U got the stand off for the nvme right?
Cuz I almost broke my drive or at least I thought I did while trying to screw it in and it making it a arch 😂
you put a standoff on the other end
I left the standoff there. I just don't have a screw for it. I spent the last two days looking and have officially given up
Yea Ik I didn’t even know that I had to put it at first
Oof but yea it usually comes with the motherboard or just buy some?
I don't want to wait even more just to get some screws shipped. (No local PC parts places anymore..)
anyone know how to change the pcie slot to 3.0 on a gigabyte vision mb
pcie settings in there somewhere
Prob in bios
Check out nvme config?
says no device found
I’m not sure then 😂
What mr 1111 means is you can screw a spare case standoff into the m.2 stand off lol
so i can change my the channel i want to boot with for pcie and i have 2 4.0 and 1 3.0 should i just connect my vertical bracket into the 3.0 one and set the boot pcie to it
Yea I’m def not the person u wanna ask 😅
So I gotta repaste my cpu, but Idk where the kryonaut went, does noctua paste work good too?
Stock paste is even usually good enough. Maybe 2-3 degrees difference.
That's nothing
Why tho?
Are you facing some sort of issue
If you arent id leave it on auto
There's a bug where if you have the slot set to gen 4 (default) and you use a riser that's only gen 3 the system won't post
Yeah risers are a thing
Gen 4 risers are stupid expensive too
But if he isnt using a riser or having any issues theres no need to change to pcie 3
Also hey falcie
Hows ur day been
How so?
Not bad. Finished my thermal pad mod on my 3090. I don't need to run the fans 100% any more when mining on it lol.
You put less strain on the controller setting it to a lower bandwidth, and mining is usually fine on even 1.1 x2 mode or 2.0 x1
Amazing stuff. Chips on the back do be a pain.
I need a heatsink for my back plate lol
Ahh so you can have more cards in a single system?
Exactly
My 5600x is at 62c with a 240mm
How many ssds would it take in raid 0 to hit ram level speeds
62 is under load?
If so then its totally fine
5600X isn't known to run hot, and it's fine past 90
No need to repaste
Depends on the SSDs and the ram
Say 2333 ddr4 and a ton of mushkin pilot e s
Only 2333? I'll run some calculations
Yus
Oki thx
DDR4 at 2333 has a theoretical bandwidth of around 69.5 GB/s
Specifications say pilot e has a theoretical speed of 3.5 GB/s
It would take about 20 drives
Thats surprisingly not as much as I would have guessed
Thanks a lot
That question has been on the back of my mind for a long time now
You'd still need a threadripper or xeon to get the required 80+ pci lanes
And raid isn't a perfect addition of speed increase in practice, there's overhead
Yeah of course thats why its hypothetical
Real world would be VERY difficult to calculate exactly
It would also Theoretically take about 28 drives to match DDR4 3200 speed
Anyone else just work in their lap?
No
Depends what I'm working on, but that's just asking for lost screws
lost screws just means found screws in the future
can't find them if you don't lose them
I give no second thoughts to dropped screws
But "can't find one" can mean the difference between mounting your cpu with 3 screws or 4 🙃
Screws are easy time travel
Any screw can tap if u drill hard enough
If it taps aluminum I'm sure it'll tap mobo
Okay, now how do I get this thing of thermal paste open?
Never mind, I'm dumb. It was literally just pull the cap off
xD
Now I'll just have to discern where to attach the fan to the heatsink... I have the ID-Cooling SE-224-XT
Who insulates their mobo screws?
gotta make sure that airflow goes where you want it to
not in the manual?
Top is JME or JMEI, bottom is speaker
vintage knows everything
Didn’t come with one
ah ok
do you know what model the mobo is?
Ahh I didn’t even think they would be seperate. Thank you.
Random Chinese mobo for 4th gen intel lmao
4 pin is the standard for mobo speakers
ahhh
okay, why does this cooler only want to screw down on one side?
stripped
You do one screw at a time
is it on those plastic am4 brackets, sometimes those are just kind of a pain
I'm dealing with the CPU cooler
Sometimes when I get the first in it cause the other 3 to kind of pop up and you have to apply some pressure to get the next one going. Especially if they’re spring loaded
I had to take the default brackets off and use the cooler's brackets. (And yes I checked to make sure they were the AMD ones)
Progress so far. Ram and m.2 drive in tomorrow
Oh, now it works after I complain
quick question about my reset button. I have everything connected correctly, but when I press my reset switch, my bios pops up saying that a boot error occurred, so I'm wondering if it's a windows or bios problem
boot
are asia horse cable extensions good
Does anyone reccomend any custom pc canada website? Everyone i see is american
Does it say anything More? What kind of boot error? Or a code
How many drives do you have?
🦗

Does anyone suggest any PC builder site? Someone mentioned it before on here, but I can't for the life of me remember.
pcpartpicker
one that i can buy it after i build it
whats the best budget usb or xlr mic
Blue snowball USB is pretty good for 50. I use one now. I want to get a RODE podmic XLR. Gonna need a small USB interface though for best quality
- The USB interface I want is the focusrite Scarlett which is 120
consider supporting your local hobby builders
if you're looking for a fully custom prebuilt
Local hobby builders dont seem to have graphics cards or processors unfortunatly or i would.
they have low end stuff sure.
i stopped doing it due to the graphics card shortage yeah
depends on what you're looking for ig
if you're looking for a 3090 probably not
oh cool. I got my RMA'd RAM back. They just sent me new ram. Now that I have another 16gb kit it makes me wonder. can i use two separate manufacturer sets of ram in the same rig? Current set is crucial ballistix 3600 cl16. and the ram that was sent back to me new is gskill ripjaws 3600 cl16
you can but it can cause problems with XMP
especially since they use different ICs
ballistix uses micron rev. e and ripjaws uses hynix cjr/djr
good to know. wont be mixing RAM then, lol
no real benefit for me anyway. all the games I play run fine with 16gb
i had a customer come in with his pc that had 3x8 ram sticks that were all different brands and rated for different speeds
was just curious
would only run at default ddr4 spec (2133c15)
trying to OC it probably would have been a nightmare
I can just imagine.
OCing ram is hard enough when it's just one IC
takes me like 3 days to finalize a ram oc
thats kinda brutal. yikes.
got my $90 ballistix 3600 16-18-18-18-38 kit to 3800 14-12-18-18-34

the pain is worth it
I dont think ive ever OCd anything other than my old smoked r9 270x card learning to mine many years ago..
i buy hardware that i don't need just to oc it
i found sweet deals on an i7-8700K and Z370 extreme4 recently
gonna delid the 8700K and push it as high as i can for fun
you sir, are a prophet! i'd have lost my hair and patience quickly.
i'm more conservative. I like my things to last and I know heat is a limiting factor to longevity with fine electronics.
i'm fighting with my 2060s going over 60c in my closed case. so i keep the case open with a fan aimed at the GPU.
60c is fine
i know it is. but it idles gameplay at around 80c. I dont like it.
gpus are built to tolerate 90C for 30 years

my OCed 3080 runs at like 60C full load anyways
thats really not bad though. thats quite good
happens when you mod your 3080 and stick it in a mesh case with 8 fans
I need a better case to be honest. I have some plain-jane corsair case, and it does not like my atx mobo and AIO cooler. really tight fit. A case that is built around good airflow.
i had a corsair 275r as my first case before i knew anything about pcs
it was amusing watching my gpu drop 8C when i took off the solid front panel
Build redux
now my airflow is so good that taking off the glass increases my temps
What cpu should i get to upgrade from my i3 9100f maximum budget for cpu is 200 and 100 for motherboard if needed?I was thinking of the i7 8700 because im not going to play really demanding games and i don't have to buy a new mobol
what mobo do you have now
dealhunting
ebay?
facebook marketplace
but yeah if you can find an i7-8700 for like $120 i'd do it, otherwise it might be more worth your money to go i5-11400 + b560 (if you intend to upgrade that rx 570 later on)
you can sell your mobo and cpu as a combo to offset the cost
yeah i will upgrade it later on
selling cpu+mobo combo is easier than selling that mobo by itself for sure
the i3 9100f aged alot
games got more demanding
is the i7 8770 faster than the ryzen 5 3600?
they should be pretty equal
just putting it out there. my 2 month old ryzen 5 5600x is a beast. every game ive thrown at it runs like a gem.
8700K will beat the 3600 with a good oc
since your mobo is tied to 2666mhz ram though it'll lose
true
i5-10400 beats 3600 when they have the same ram
but i save money
but will lose by up to 10% when locked to 2666mhz
Howdy
i7-8700 is pretty similar to i5-10400
i mean i would save maybe 100 dollars
yeah it depends on how soon you expect to upgrade gpu
along time from now
if you are planning to upgrade gpu soon then moving to a more modern platform might be worth it
otherwise just look for a drop-in
ok
a 9400 will do fine with that rx 570
if you can find a good deal
8400 as well
doesn't strictly have to be an 8700
fortnite?
I don't play fortnite but I heard that it gets cpu heavy the later the game goes because of structures being built
yeah
so it might be worth investing in a better cpu in that case
i have to play on performance mode on all low settings just to get 144fps in game but i do have a i3 so.
...
cpu upgrade won't allow you to up the graphics settings
it will just mean less frame drops below 144
yes
ik
i dip below 60 while gliding
somthimes
and i will just play on low setting
settings
yeah that's below average market price
and below what newegg sells them for i think lol
k
yeah sounds like cpu upgrade will help
no
yeah
the ram doesnt really matter
thanks
just look around for cheap i5s/i7s
preferably 8700/9700 to avoid 6c/6t
but 6c/6t is still better than 4c/8t if that's what you can afford
i've seen 8600K for like $95
just get a ryzen 2600
yeah good luck putting a 2600 in lga1151 mobo
for like 100
buy a adapter
...
(im joking btw)
can someone help me make a 840 gaming pc build
ugh i want a df700 cuz it has so much stuff on it like 4 included fans, preinstalled and wired fans, included fan hub, all that stuff
for literally $75
but like
500dx secksay
also df700 not white
How good is the cryorig a80 280mm aio?
Thinking of changing my enermax liquimax 3 360mm for that
Smallest (most compact) build I've done so far
yo where can I buy extra cables
the extra cable store
which
amazon
the pin connectors right
why would you play league
oops wrong channel
Anyone active that could help with a question?
ask away
depends which one
also what psu u got?
Which one of what?
which 3070
Yep
The Strix is two 8 pins yeah? You should be fine using the one cable, but if I remember correctly, it is recommended you use two of those cables one for each port
its 2x8 pin
Its 1 cable
split to 2
like all pcie power cables
I know, and in the manuals for psus with those cables it is generally recommend using two of them instead of the one cable, but you'll also be fine with one
If you have two, go ahead and use them, but one is fine
Ok thanks!
not really
just use 2, dont use 1
Will do!

it can actually affect performance

It is only an extremely minor impact on performance, in actuality it doesn't matter unless you gpu is pulling 400+ watts because the cables can only safely do around 400 watts
I have a AX1200i PSU when I boot my system the PSU fan spins but after like 30seconds it stops and shuts down
Hello guys again
Need a quick suggestion
I7 10700k has eight cores and 8/16 lanes
- Motherboard: Supports the generation of 10/11 Gigabyte z590
RAM: Xpg rgb 16GB DDR4 3200 hz (up to 3400 mzh)
Graphics Card: 3060 12gb Rtx Gigabyte
Storage: 512GB SSD kingston
1tb hdd wd: hard disk - - Power supply: cooler master-750watt
- The case: cooler master with RGB lighting
- Screen: Samsung Full HD iPS 1ms 144hz
This used pc for only three months price 1350$, is it good deal?
good deal
😳
@desert gulch
tubes up
Is it bad?
A lot of PC builds online (including manufacturer photos & NR200P builds) incorrectly mount AIO liquid coolers, leading to pump noise/whine and early cooler failure.

gn video

might actually be fine wait
mostly just gets noisy
yeah tubes up is fine, just maybe noisier
main thing is pump shouldn't be highest point of the loop
I've done both up and down on my rig and honestly couldn't tell the difference
yeah, as long as you mount the rad high as possible it's fine 99% of the time
that video got people doing so much yelling in youtube comments that other youtubers had to talk about it lol
xd
Someone had to say it. This issue is being blown way out of proportion. Here's why.

you will have to change how the radiator is placed but otherwise yeah
very nice
Something weird is happening
I just replaced the power supply and graphics card, and when I press the power button on the computer, the lights start flashing and a weird beeping noise occurs
Any ideas?
Anyone?
you not giving us much to go on. weird beeping noise? what does that even mean?
what lights?
When I press the power button, the leds start flashing continuously with a ticking type of noise. @tight sorrel
try putting your old stuff back and then add the new parts in one at a time
K
Whats this one for?
Can I connect my non RGB fans on this one? 4pins
Can I use this one as well?
those all look like usb ports
so that should be a USB Hub
just for internal USB pins
So I cannot put fans on these guys?
I think cooler master has some decent cheap ones?
How about this one?
honestly just any fan hub
So i can use any software also regardless of the fanhub?
I'd just use something like this https://www.thermaltake.com/commander-fp-10-port-hub-for-pwm-fans.html
oh, hang on that's only for PWM fans
are all your fans PWM?
Dc fans are backwards compatible with pwm btw
Make sure it's a sata powered one if it's more than like 3 or so fans, some mobos can't deliver the power needed for that many off one header
Coolermaster splits from one fan header tho yeah
it's not sata power
FH10 is sata powered
fun looking sata power
Nice
its like, sata to 2 pin lol
This fan hub which software do I use?
Your bios
Ohhhh how about the NZXT Grid V3? Bios as well?
Ehh nzxt usually have proprietary stuff that only works with thei products but you get to use nzxt cam afaik
i've actually never seen that product before lol
so idk
but, nzxt only works with their software
they're like the apple of pc things
Z73
okay, so the fans there will still work if plugged into a hub
but the stuff on the screen can only be controlled using NZXT CAM
and i'm going to assume the Grid V3 is controlled using CAM as well
judging by it's description, at least
Using CAM, you can choose a preset fan profile...
Ohhhhh
So in short i can control the fans from their software?
These ports what are they for?
no clue what ports those are
its a USB, to connect to internal USB header
Probs considering its for control through nzxt cam
I guess there is no way of knowing. Wish we had some sort of tool wth access to all of mans knowledge... shame...
Audio connector for a fan hub? Weird
has a noise detection module. I assume its for tuning for noise levels
thats pretty advanced... but then they use a MOLEX for power.
Why molex
Also noise level just use ur ears
If you don't like the noise then turn down the curve
And balance that with thermal performance
I would imagine you can set a maximum db and the system will adjust fan speeds automatically to optimise cooling and noise
this is just speculation
OMG i tried starting my pc and smoke came out i immediately removed it from power source after noticing the smoke. The smoke came out of the motherboard at the CPU pin area. I hope it didn’t damage it nor the components plugged to my MB.
So my PSU is it?
It's a likely culprit
My PSU is from 2016 its a corsair ax1200i
Hmm
Tomorrow ill be starting to build my first ever PC. Any top tips to consider guys?
Was your psu fine in your old system?
Yah but tried it on this new system im building and its a complete mess
Put motherboard on its box, put cpu in, then ram/m.2 ssd then cooler(if air) then put in case then cooler(if aio(water)) then connect all your cables and lastly your gpu
¯_(ツ)_/¯ could be mobo but it's hard to tell
Wow cheers man. Sounds Easy!
Nb 👍
Earlier it turned on then after a few sec the PSU fans turns off and then shut downs the whole system. Then tried it again then it emitted smoke
The bit after i must say im a bit more worried about when turning it on.
Mobo is bnew so idk 😦
I have downloaded Windows 10 installer and have a pass key.
Dw you should be fine
But yah could be PSU
But I will have to test it on my friends old system and see if its working or what
I will share the before and after picture here!
Ehh most likely is psu but could be dodgy board power delivery wise
I just hope it didnt damage my mobo or any other components. 😦
Unless you physically scraped it up with a screw driver or misplaced standoff and if it is the mobo probs wasnt your fault
Otherwise im buying a new psu but i checked the area where the smoke came out no signs of burning or what.
Not in any way at all
What’s some
Bout the same price
What else
5900x has 4 more cores and a better sngle core score
And less cores
what games r u thinking of playing
if your going to play any competative games like fortnite or csgo then the 10900k is the best
I was talking about overall
No matter on the game noone should ever buy the 11900k for it's dumb price
overall 5900x better
How
I see
camel spit is better than a 11900k
Because intel 10th gen has lower latency than amd and 11th gen intel
I gues intel sucks
about 1 - 2 ms
Ok thx guys
and then they have a intel 10th gen for lower latency
I need a dumb gpu than my build is complete
Intel is good for budget but not high end atm
But I can’t find one
Ok
10900k has almost 3 ms lower latency than a 5800x or 5900x in fortnite
Dang is that’s bad right
yea
Latency isn't really a thing cpu wise yes there is some but it's ns not ms
Rip intel messed up on the cpus lol
mb
Wait can I run 3600 speed ram on amd
Ye
Do I just put them on the mobo and yah
It's preferred on 5000
Or do I have to go into bios and do smth
And enable xmp
How
Yeah no harm
Ok
Better than no gpu
I hope there isn’t
