If not, we start going through software
cool
ill check now
I’ve run the game that seems to cause all the issues and it’s running fine
That's a good start
Oh my
That doesn’t seem good
Well, I think we found our problem
Despite being Seasonic brand, that's a bad PSU
And known to cause issues
Of course it is
Funnnn
I don’t have a PCI power cable im pretty sure
My thing needed like an adapter
wait wat?
No, that has a PCI-E power cable
What power slots does your 1070TI have
8 or 6 pin?
The power cables are labeled VGA
not PCI-E
I believe it’s an 8
Problem is, those PSU's don't have the proper protections
So a good wattage hit will shut them down
Ah
Like you fire up a game and the GPU draws a big l oad
Yeah
So, any chance you can return it? how long ago did you buy it?
I think it’s over 30 days
Can you buy power supplies from Best Buy because I may run out there and get a different one
What do you recommend
best buy tends to only have expensive Corsair PSU's that are decent
This shows as One Day Prime for me
And it's a nice unit
Fully modular for only a few bucks more than what you paid
Ight yeah sounds good
yeah but that Focus Gold is probably north of $100
Yeah I don’t have that money atm I think I’ll get the link you got me and get it tomorrow I have that money
I would ask about returning the Seasonic also
Hello all
I was hoping someone might be able to give me advice on building... something. not really sure what to call it
Id like to build a system that well... is basically a server but allows me to have multiple VMs from it.
Like i want to have 2 -3 PCs and one Server, but i want the server to have all the GPU and CPU power..
Does that sound dumb... sounds possible.
i suppose. or work or w.e
Interesting and honestly not my cup of tea nor area of expertise
ty anyways.
Doesn't mean I can't find someone to help you
stand by
@sand falcon You do anything with servers or VM's?
Yup, what's up?
See above please and thanks
This
i apologize if this request is silly.
So basically all compute power on the server, with a few remote stations that will connect to it?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ThswF8 is this a good part list Budget 800$
basically yes. Id like it to be possible to split its power between VMs. so like if i want a 3rd machine i just split the power a little more. 4th etc
That board won't support DDR4-3600 just FYI
soo
Vintage you sure?
Bruh
what board should i use
I checked the spec page before I posted
I don't like the rest of the list anyways but
I always do
Cpu power would be pretty easy to divvy up like that, GPU would be a bit harder
IMO, Intel 10400 the way to go with that budget
How far will the server and stations be from each other?
can u make a part list with that MB because im not really the best at computer knowledge
that power supply is a huge fat NO @vital scaffold
really
Do you already own the motherboard?
no
i was thinking purchase a threadripper and NAS and whene ver i want to add another device, i just purchase another GPU
We'd change it up, by a lot then
go for it
Do you already own a 1660 super, or have somewhere you can get it from for 230$?
well im moving into a new house. so i guess as far and close as i want
I would recommend against a nas for this system
wait so whatcha doin
ye
ik where i can get it
oh hi bob
You might want to consider a xeon or epyc over a threadripper
depends
This sort of virtualization is still a bit sketchy on consumer ryzen
@muted patio Side note, B560 boards are avaliable on wegg now, with support for 10th gen :D
doesn't show up on PCPP, but available on wegg from what I can tell
There's still some hiccups
i mean i do it differently but
@sand falcon
i would love to do more research but to be honest i have no idea what this build would be called? Any idea what i can google
i have never had any issues
It'll be KVM with direct pcie pass through
I'd imagine something like server virtualisation, hypervisors, vm server etc
? KVM doesn't sound like what i was thinking of
Multiple computers in the house. All connecting to a server. This server handles the CPU and GPU for the unit.
Can someone help me with ram config on msi bios?
Well, from what I can tell, it does somewhat sound like a KVM, with multiple stations passing through inputs to a main server
What ram and what motherboard?
Yup
connected to a virtualization server
look up proxmox
and you can find thin clients easily
proxmox, ty i'll do research on that
I don't even know if he needs thin clients
well im saying if he wants to do a fresh deploy
obviously whatever he has now can also be a thin client
just a couple laptops
With the size of this system direct connection would be perfectly feasible
i mean sorta
Not sorta, totally
yes but youd connect through a thin client
What will the systems be used for @novel mango?
if you did it right
Game Development, Automation and Gaming.
i mean u can also direct connect if the server is gonna be super close
like 20ish feet
how far do you plan to be from the host machine @novel mango
it could be in the same room. everything will be in the basement, but it would be cool if i could hook into it via my laptop from 2 floors up. but its not needed.
cause u can run a vm
pass ports through
and then just plug into the ports you passed through
Could use direct access downstairs, then thin connection upstairs
and threadripper is fine for this
yep
honestly id say threadripper over epyc just because tr can boost higher
A bit more complicated than is ideal, but would mean better latency downstairs
How many systems do you want?
depends how many vms u wanna run
2 at minimum. was hoping for 3 so i can play VR with a dedicated machine.
4 if a guest comes over
Hi all - so I reset the CMOS on this. It still stops at the yellow light telling me it is not reading the DRAM:
#building-and-recc-chat message
Probably going to want more than an i9 then
depends how many cores u want but id say 32c64t for that
Maybe replace MOther board?
would be fun
Minimum of 16c, preferably more
alright. i suppose getting the gear first would be step one.
Any suggestions on casing or RAM
Probably a 4U rack
rosewill makes some cute rackmount cases
virtualization isnt cheap
Any more or less than 4 individual systems?
2 for sure. 3 if i can get a VR system. 4 to brag but thats about it
honestly
u dont wanna do vr like that
lol
and each vm would need its own gpu if you plan to game
tbh it sounds like it would be cheaper to just have 3 computers
GPU is honestly going to be the hardest thing here
yeah ive been waiting but you all know that struggle
hmm.. maybe i am making this more complicated than it needs to be
kjkk
It's honestly not that bad
The question is will it be cheaper
Hmm. I have a lot to think about. Thanks all for your help

not bad
wdym what should you do
wdym "what should i do"
bruh both of yall shhhhhh
bruh
ur just jelly your pixelbook keeb is slower than my dell laptop membrane keeb

I'd type much faster on keychron smh
what
Cute laptop
lemme just

ok ill be more spesific this time
i am almost done wit my build here are my specs:
optiplex
evga 600 BQ bronze
intel i7 4790 3.6ghz 4 cores 8 threads lga1150
1050ti gigabyte 4GB vram gddr5
WD blue sata SSD 500GB 560 mb/s+ WD blue HDD 500GB 150 mb/s
16GB Hynix ram ddr3 4x4 dual channel
possideon z kalih switch blue
asus tuf gaming VG24VQE 165hz DP 1.2 23.6
some random dell work mouse
is there anything i can upgrade (except for GPU/mouse. ill upgrade that)
hm
What brand ram

dunno if I like it @hollow grail
Nvm
165 hz for a 1050?
yes i will upgrade soon, i play csgo/valorant. i will play more AAA games soon so i will upgrade
Does anyone know of a site that is selling AMD Ryzen 9 pre built machines with amd graphic cards? I can see some i9s and GTX but id like to stick with amd if i could
Well, what do you want it to do? @novel mango
And how much are you willing to spend?
up to 5k
but id like to save some money so i can get a new monitor
gaming, game development, automation
Well, price is not an issue then, assuming usd, any restrictions on the timeline (need it in x days)?
Okay, still plenty, although I'm not completely familiar with shipping costs and restriction from various prebuilts to ship to Canada
And well, yes and no. id prefer not waiting a year haha. which is what it feels like for these graphic cards. which is why i am aiming for the already built ones
fair
For your game development and automation, is it GPU accelerated or CPU accelerated?
well.. sorry but iam not familiar
automation is thread base
the more i automate the more threads its taking up
Interesting
but i mean, its automation haha so i dont need 10 running at the same times. i can run it at like 2am if i want
Do you have any ideas on how much ram you need?
32gb is what i am aiming for.
16 seems to be bottle necking a lot on my current machine
damn stacking parts onto a prebuilt makes the cost go up fast
hmm what do you mean
Any ideas on how much storage you need?
i was thinking of setting up a NAS. but iam not locked into that idea
I was just expecting this to be cheaper, just using xoticpc to look at the price of stacking stuff on right now
1tb ssd and the rest can be on NAS
Does NAS usually use Linux or windows or is it basically external storage?
Welp, this this a very basic start to looking into it, 4400USD for a 5950x+6900xt build with decent stuff, I'll look further, but this is an example to start. Click customize and it'll show you the setup. @novel mango
https://xoticpc.com/collections/gx75-1000d/products/gx75-1000d-ryzen?conf=335879
oh wow thank you
@novel mango good bit cheaper using different case from xotic, 4000USD for 5950x+6900xt
https://xoticpc.com/collections/gx11-dynamic/products/gx11-dynamic-x570?conf=335885
dang building computers are expensive af
Only the good ones
Really good ones
You really don’t need more than a grand for your average gaming computer
Yea, xotic also has a premium for pretty good service
@novel mango also keep in mind, this is LITTERALLY THE HIGHEST END PARTS AMD OFFERS FOR CONSUMERS
5950x and 6900xt
Highest end indeed
maybe i am aiming too high. maybe what i need it for can get by with cheaper stuff?
Going down to like 5900x+6800xt prob cuts like 500usd from the cost, and also, this is just one price from one service
hmm
damn, buildredux doesn't have 6800xt or 6900xt options
what are these websites you are using
AMD Gpu's are in even shorter supply than nVidia
Reasonable 5900x+6800xt build, 3300usd
https://xoticpc.com/collections/gx11-dynamic/products/gx11-dynamic-x570?conf=335890
i am hoping to stick to AMD but, i mean its so appealing to just have my machine sooner.
Why do you want to stick to AMD?
i am not really a fan of nvidea and intel. from what ive seen online
No reason not to be at this kind of budget
Honestly, I might point you towards Nvidia for the sole reason that CUDA might become useful for automation and such
AMD CPU is great still though.
A 3090 outperforms a 6900 XT, but a 5900x/5950x outperforms a 10900k
I assumed AMD would be better since intel doesn't focus threads, amd does
And 3080 is usually better for stock
for stock? what does that mean
Yea, Intel highest end is a 10 core 20 thread part
AMD 5950x is 16 core 32 thread
For stock as in the thing being in stock or out of stock
Eh, AMD+Nvidia still a great option
whenever possible I'd still try to get 5900x/5950x for your case
And tbh, company is just a company, the performance of their products matter
aye im not going after amd for the product but rather in spite of intel and nvidea. the way their company runs just rubs me the wrong way
@novel mango anyways, here's a pretty nice 5900x+3080 build for 3300usd on xotic
https://xoticpc.com/collections/g12-vision/products/g12-vision-ryzen?conf=335894
I could understand if you were boycotting B&H or Brave or Chick-fil-a or something for bad business practices but not Intel or NVidia
I personally don't really have issues with Nvidia other than the weird recent 3060 hash rate halving
@novel mango A lot of people fanboy for AMD, I like them too for what they do, but Intel and Nvidia really aren't that bad.
@novel mango and also, if you really want AMD CPU and GPU, that's alright, we can work off of that, it's just harder to find, and stock situation is a bit worse.
I'll check some other prebuilts like cyberpower, origin, and maingear
AMD is kind of being marketed as the underdog by everyone right now
Which is why everyone is fanboying for them
But they are a company who’s sole purpose is to make money, so...
im kinda a noob when it comes to picking the parts of a pc. But, how much money should I be spending on RAM if my budget is 1000.
$150 or so
Idealy, 50-75$, for with current market situation, 75$ for a kit of 2x8gb 3000c15/3200c16 ballistix/aegis isn't bad
Dpeends on how much ram you want
and what you'll be doing
and also depends on how much you need
im building a pc for gaming and rendering,
Rendering what
like I do blender, and unity
thats a good point
i mean i feel like i do, but how do i really know if i do? ya know?
What program is it?
my own program. wrote it myself
well maybe lets step back.
if i aim for Game Development. and 4K gaming. what machine would you recommend
Going to assume something like Unify for game development, which is pretty CPU Intensive, and 4k gaming itself is pretty GPU intensive
Unity will be used indeed
By the way, do you know any more local (canadian) prebuilt sites I could check?
canadacomputers is usually my go to place for building but i dont think its like the other sites you gave. more like newegg
Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.
Hm, not great options for prebuilts
nah. new egg has been my best bet so far
Oh and also, nearly forgot, Puget systems is great for production PCs, they have articles on various software and how parts perform, and their prebuilts can be nice, this 3200usd 5900x+3080 build for example. @novel mango
http://puget.systems/go/154902
I was looking at Puget earlier
From what I can tell, their products are good but the company itself isn’t the greatest
As far as CEO ratings and things like that go
oh i should also mention... anything dell... toss it. haha
Hm? I really like their data and I've been told their quality is good
Puget systems make it themselves, it's not like they buy dell PCs and resell
I have a rtx 3080 and an intel i7 9700k is my cpu bottlenecking my potential at all?
@novel mango LTT made a vid on them xD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgzThkM3DuQ

Watched it. Great share. ill give them a shot. Ty 🙂
there's going to be some bottleneck, but only a wee bit
yep no prob
eft?
escape from tarkov
ah
pretty demanding game
3080 can handle any game you throw at it
yeah def
At 1080p the monitor will be the bottleneck
A 3080 can handle that game fine
It can do 4K 60 FPS easy, 1440p at whatever refresh rate you want to throw at it
my monitor is definitely the bottleneck right now.. can't wait to get a new monitor
https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-27-monitor-p2719h/apd/210-aqcs/monitors-monitor-accessories current monitor, was free from work though when we went to work from home so can't complain. can't do more than 75hz though.
Can't you run an upscaled res thru it? Like upscaled 4k on 1080... Doesn't look as good as native 4k, but better than 1080
No idea, didn't even realise that was a thing
https://www.newegg.com/global/qa/p/N82E16813157980?Item=N82E16813157980&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-13-157-980-_-02222021 is this a good motherboard for an i3 10100?
Yeah seems fine @little osprey
There aren’t any replies, doesn’t it seem sketchy?
^
id rather choose the cheapest z490 mobo rather than buying a lower end a560 mobo
or z590*
Rip
B460 is Intel. Or are you asking about the B450 for yourself?
Oh, I asking him @ripe wedge if he’s searching a cheap motherboard
Sill, Z490 and Z590 are Intel, B450 is AMD
Anyways, B450-F was good, but gets beat by pretty much any B550 nowadays
b450 is AMD
Vintage said that already
i have a quick question is ShopBLT.com legit?
Yes
ok
Nice list, decent ram, 212 could be better, 3600x still strong, 970, sold drive, NZXT 510, ehhh ok. and a 1660.
I actually got the 3600x for cheaper than a 3600
Nice.
if anything thats overkill lmao
Noctua fans are perfectly fine, unless its literally intake on the side of a brick wall
I know, it was a joke
No, x570 will have more lanes for two pcie gen4 drives, but to the average person, it doesn't matter
That's literally the only difference
o vintage, apparently discord doesnt play friendly with audio interfaces/dacs
i messaged support and theyre working on it apparently
Good card but iirc, most people diss on the driver issues.
Which have been fixed
yep.
Why y’all going through my messages lol
lol, just answering oldest to newest
i saw dread reply to that one so i clicked on it too lmao
Quad channel but i think its still dual 8x4 sticks. Benefits from x4 sticks vs x2 compared to zen2
YES I KNOW
There is no more quad channel
Yep thought so
im quad channel
You are a thieving Kalė is what you are
Lol
Hi mae
Who
Never heard of it
@wanton cliff hold on you said the ssd 2.5 is better or was it the M.2 2280? To start the Window faster?
Can’t remember.
M.2
Form factor doesn’t matter, but M.2 SSDs are generally faster
generally
A few rare exceptions exist
2.5 sata vs M.2 nvme, the M.2 wins
There's sata M.2 drives also that are about the same as 2.5 sata speeds
M.2 has better and more direct PCIe connection
Ok, gotcha! Because I almost bought the m.2 2280 and the 2.5 sata as well. 😅
Which ones?
Cause some M.2 don’t have DRAM, or are SATA, or are just plain slow... etc
The XPG GAMMIX 256GB S11 pro 3D NAND.
At least?
Uhhh
@potent portal idk any good SSDs below that
So I’m calling him
But don’t buy XPG
Is bad?
Eww a 256 for $60? No, no, and no
The XPG is bad?
Technically XPG is just a sub name of Adata
But whatever
I use the names interchangeably
If you can squeeze an extra $10 in this would be very worth it
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07KGMBCKD?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
I'll find one closer to $60 if that's a hard limit
Ooooh sabrent
WD not bad, but not fantastic either
They make better HDDs
Is it not to much ask for red color theme? Since I’m build the Shadow the hedgehog PC theme. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6-WoCJqYdgE

;p
►TWITCH - https://twitch.tv/joeyslittle...
If you are on a budget, I wouldn’t ever try going for a “theme”
For a Shadow PC you could do a black case and paint red accents, then red LED/RGB
Like in his hair, subtle streaks
Btw @gaunt zinc make Fal’Cie a techie next time you give people roles, he deserves it.
@potent portal well I kinda wanted for the m.2 2280 matching color there’s Quite a few of them out there on Amazon
But, meh.
Put a heatsink on the M.2 or get a motherboard with one built in
@elfin flame and oh I already got the rbg fans right now.
It would probably be covered by a heat sink or a cooler anyways
No need for special colors
Good thing my Gigabyte Aorus has a heatsink placement for two m.2 slots.
Shadow the hedgehog theme would probably be a 980 pro but those expensive as hell
Aren't those PCIe 4?
Yep
Definitely expensive and not worth it on a budget
Black with red stickers on the NAND
Better to stick a $2 heatsink on the drive and take the sticker off
Agreed
@elfin flame this what I got
Side note, also a good option
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07J2WBKXF?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
They are good. I seen it on a famous YouTuber who builds PC Game.
Who
And the noise is much quieter than any others led fans.
@wanton cliff uh.....gave me a sec.
I think those were on jayztwocents
Is 2GUYSTEK.
Hehe, costs me nothing and I get to tell Amazon where I want them to donate
Yeah less than $8 a fan and they're not terrible or too loud, plus RGB? If I needed fans that's what I would buy
@potent portal anyway what about Samsung 970 evo plus? Only have 256 GB for 59.99.
That cheap?
Good drives, but Samsung is coasting on their fame right now. You're paying more for the name.
The Sabrent in the first link I posted is faster and twice the capacity.
I suppose it is only 256gb
Same Sabrent, cheaper and 256 GB: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07KGLN3HN?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
Def go sabrent before they go the Samsung route
@potent portal western digital 250gb WD Black?
WD blacks are pretty good
Small tho
If it's just a boot/program drive it doesn't need to be huge. I'm only using 80 GB of my 256 boot drive.
@potent portal than last one about this: PNY XLR8 CS3030 250GB M.2
PNY also
....damn ok, than I just stick WD black for now.
That PNY is a fairly new drive, hard to tell for sure how reliable it is and other stats
hey will the nzxt x63 fit in a fractal design meshify c ?
Yes it's 280 and should fit
it should.
One last thing, do all m.2 require to have heat sink or is fine without? Such as WD black can only have heat sink at 500 Gb model but no heatsink for 250gb.
Usually says in your manually as well
Depends
if its gen4, you should
gen3 might be fine
My gen4 drives need a heatsink
needs* but gen4 gets toasty
Most M.2 are fine without a heatsink but if you're doing a lot of read/write and it gets hot you can add one
^
Thanks!
it getting hot when you copy over 100gb usually xd
I have an 970 Evo plus and a SX 8100, neither have a heat sink, both work fine
Although the SX 8100 gets hot as hell
baybe couse its under gpu 😂
How do you know it is?
Yeah my hp ex950 works fine without one
My M.2_2 slot isn't under my GPU, it's below my second PCIe x16 slot
couse theres not good airflow there as much as close cpu
But how do you know it’s in my M.2_1 slot?
lol couse everyone would put 970 as boot drive so m2 1 slot
All based on assumptions
my mobo have headsink on m2 2 slot but don't have headsink on m2 1 slot
thats smart actually 😂
you said 970 is staying cool so we guess its on m2 1 slot lol
M.2_1 is under the GPU tho
🤔
Point here being, broad assumptions may or may not be correct. Not everyone uses the same layout, every board is different, everyone uses different cases and fans.
I don't think theres much heat difference between ssd brands
I got it a year before the 970 btw
Been to lazy to reformat it all and redownload everything
dd if=/dev/nvme0 of=/dev/nvme1
One command to combat laziness
My friend is complaining that he can’t run newgrounds games with how slow his laptop is, I asked him to check what CPU, it’s a N3710 XD
😬
I got a b450-f so....I don’t think I have a heat sink on any slot that come from the mobo.
rip
Not a huge deal, they run normally without one so it mostly means you'll be able to see it on the board instead of having it covered
Damn, looks like I have to buy one. Since I’m planning to play game and make a story on fanfiction.
You don’t need one
Not necessarily. Only if you transfer large files and it throttles/stops.
we said gen4, unless you do ALOT of read and write
What the games they got large files to download in order to play ( pay first, then download )
If I can take cyberpunk from a 970 and put it on an 8100 without it throttling or anything, a WD Black will be fine
That’s 107gb
Zipped but still
Downloads are not going to come anywhere near the bandwidth required to cause thermal problems
Oh.😯
It was a transfer, not a download
Once you get around 2GB/s for over 30 minutes you might run into problems
(that's BYTES not bits)
Just an emphasis lol, some people mistype it
.....so I should be fine without it. For the WD black?
Ok. Thank for your help, since I don’t know much about tech stuff. Even though I building my first time pc gaming.
what is the best cpu brand for video editing and multitasking
well im on a 1200 budget
Once Zen3 TR comes out it will be even better
5800x then
a $500 cpu?
Isn’t MSRP a lot less than that?
im doing this for someone who doesnt know the best places for parts
Or you can get a used one
im trying to source everything to one place
Why not just provide them with links or whatever
Oh.
is a ryzen 5 3600 good for recording and editing?
Not possible
Only 6 cores, gets beat by 5600x by a significant amount
I’d prefer a 3700x any day of the week
5600X smack that too
what gpu would go well with a 3600?
3060ti or 3070 I would do
It's not quite that easy right now...
so wait a 5600x or a 3700x?
Everyone and their grandmother wants a GPU right now, combined with silicon shortages and tariffs and we're in a perfect market storm
5600x is better than 3700x by a good amount
Not a bad choice but a 5600x could handle a 3080
5600x
is it worth waiting for a 3070 or should i find a different gpu
Wait
ok
in what scenarios?
2080TI discontinued
The same, except for Ray tracing
Pretty comparable raster performance, 3070 does better DLSS and raytracing
and even higher price than 3070
I’m talking used
ok thx
Yeah, if you can find one, it'll be even more expensive than a 3070
$1100 buy it now on Ebay
😉
Lol those trolls are aiming for the bots
Coffin PC?
haha niice one
I almost want to do that but I also prize my 100% seller rating
New accounts are restricted still though right? I guess I could link it to my wife's Paypal to get the restrictions removed
Best part is people are clearly not monitoring their bots very well, I see one that ends in a few days that has 32 bids
Dummies
I should do that on my dad’s account or something lol
Last thing he sold on there was a pulse oximeter back in 2011
Free money and it discourages bad practices, win win I feel even if it is a little in the gray area of policies
Oh nice idea also, make a good chunk of the sale be for charity
Feel good about yourself while you scam idiots making it hard for everyone else lol
Good idea
feels good ngl
frick your rep on ebay
Just buy an eBay account lol
It’s not really a scam
You can obviously see that it says that it’s just a picture in the desc
I need help looking for a laptop for work. I'm an atv mechanic and every now and then I need to pull up schematics, wiring diagrams, or cross reference parts and phone doesn't really work well for that.
So you don’t need anything super powerful?
No
Found one on amazon I'm interested in, but looking for other options to consider as well
This may be an unpopular opinion
But HP’s recent Envy line is pretty good
The Envy X360s
With the 4000-series processors
That’s hard for a lappy
Best chance is used
Yeah ik
get a hp pavilion or sum
Budget is very very tight rn though
Celeron
Ik ik
lol
But I'm going to be using chrome
That iGPU probs won’t even be able to open chrome
No fancy software
just get an ipad then
I'm a mechanic
he would need a keyboard though?
I ain't bringing no apple into a mechanic shop
iPads are pretty expensive as well
Reason: Bad word usage
I'm not stupid
u looking for something small?
ah
You could get a used Thinkpad
But probably no bigger than 15" screen
^^
Pretty cheap and decent for basic stuff
And Thinkpad users who drop them alot seem to say they're resilient
makes me cringe
Lol
I mean
very tough
Damn
Couldn't find one in stock
an i5-4000u, remember a few years ago, my i3-6100u was 300
Tbh I'm more leaning the panasonic since I don't want it to shatter if it falls
I’m talking about Ryzen 5 4600u
3.9ghz boost
If only I could build my own laptop lol
it probably is more expensive
toughbook built to be tough
From scratch
be the first person
iirc the military uses toughbook or panasonic
Yeah
The big ones can cost thousands
tough book is probably perfect for you
they can survive water, dunes, helicopter rides
I'm a mechanic so figured tough book would be better vs chromebook
Well yep.
Let me look
aren’t envy’s like 600 buckaroos?
transformer laptop
Thicc
Whoop boy, more like $800
Wish I had a small powerful desktop
honestly should of built itx for on the go lol
or a laptop????
getacs are pog
im planning to bring my desktop to school
I'm not going desktop due to too much dust and I have no room for monitor
getac X500 server best laptop
Ah
yes
Trying to get one for a atv mechanic shop
i was debating straps
or putting it in a bike trailer
for kids

lol
and RMX psu size
that is a brick
so thicc
Almost as powerful as a Nokia
anyways ima dip
wait strongest
hope u find a laptop atv mechanic man
is RMX850 considered an ATX PSU?
yes
I thought it was, but dimensions look a bit off
Maybe im blind
6.3 x 5.91 x 3.39 inches
o11d mini
HAF xb evo
I was thinking that, but people said it was pretty big
can it fit a 323mm gpu and probably an RMX? I saw the dimensions, trying to find psu size currently.
yeah but bungee cord it to the back of your bike no prob

Like tie it?
or just drag it
Kekk
cause im sure i could install a rack on my bike
and tie it
does your bike have one of those racks?
no.
Bungie cord it like some pizzas
oof
im sure i could install a rack though
NOOOOOOO
why didn't i take my sisters bike
it's pink
but the basket was giant
it could fit cat litter bag in the front
lol
Get a 4x4 atv lol
Lots of em come with racks
Probably faster than your bike as well
4v4 atv price?
True
lmao
Anyone got a build for 1.5k Canadian?
1.2kusd
One sec
Kk
you can always go to zen2
I can push it to 2k canadian if I have too
Not necessary
No
Which 1.5k usd
Not on Zen3
Are you sure?
Yea
Don't mind spending extra 500
OMG TAO TAOS I HATE THOSE
Not bad
Got a cooler, better case, and some nice fans
Would stick with stock personally, but if it fits the budget
Also 3060ti better?
Better than what?
I got someone selling 2080 super for 500cad
2080 super for $500 is good because 3060Ti extremely hard to find stock
I would take that deal
Same
OK really appreciate the help
Yeah i'd assume it would be hard to find
2080 super and 3060Ti same raw performance
I believe 2080s and 3060Ti hashrate relatively the same
They use the same VRAM I think
Need to have that double checked though
No I mean
Amount?
There are different forms on G6, just like there are different forms of DDR4
Oh.
Which is what G6 is based off of
GDDR6? and 6x?
Different speeds, different bus, different latencys and sizes
Most of it is minor when gaming but makes a difference when mining
ah
A pretty significant one
hey guys is that build nice
and whats the max prise
i7 10700k
32 gb ram 3600mhz g.skill tridentZ
rtx 3070 msi
z490 msi gaming pro
m.2 970evo plus 500gb
wd blue 1tb ssd
what kind of motherboard is cool for this build
no i want all the build ssd
Unless you really need those fast speeds
I have 2x 1tb NVME in RAID0 and a 4tb external HDD
And the motherboard I use is the Z490 Aorus Ultra but it’s pricy. I’d recommend getting a cheaper Z490 Asus mobo
I also have the 10700k
3800x here
the z 490 master is it cool
But make a pc part picker list
Z490 master overkill but it should be a good mobo
Actually
You should get a newer Z590 asus mobo
Or Z590 Aorus mobo

And might be worth waiting for 11th gen
It’s right around the corner for release date
Ah so then 11th gen might be our by then
no i have i want to buy a new pc
Ah
but i want to get enough money for mouse keyboard headset microphone and a 2k 170hz monitor
ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ1A 27
is it cool for the build
iam making it now
tbh doesn't matter what's cool, it matters whether its practical or not.
Like are you going to spend 4k on spreadsheets?
