could i hypothetically use the USB C port to plug in an HDMI cable if i wanted to
work pc
there are workloads that require strong cpu without strong gpu
not everyone is gaming all the time
and the canadian itx motherboard market is stupid so yeah
can you please tell me am i overspending my money in buying x570 Aorus Master with 5600x ?
I know that but just get a 1050 or 750 or something like that
why? more power consumption for no gain
But less hot components in you cpu
It puts out some heat
ah yes so the 1050 spewing 75 watts into your cpu cooler is going to somehow be better for thermals?
my cpu temps went up from upgrading my gpu that heat doesn't just magically disappear
depends more on the rest of your system than the cpu
are you making use of the x570 features?
I bought a pre built and im getting fps drops hella on fortnite I need help. i have 2060 super 3600x
what ram
16gb
does it have an ssd
Ah ssd
what is your fps dropping to
just like so low all of a sudden like 100
and what is the average
idk if u play but i get like 90 in endgame
my computer cant handle 240fps inc reative
no I haven't played fortnite before but I am aware that it gets more demanding as there are more structures
is that 16gb ram in 1 stick or 2 sticks or 4 sticks?
1 stick i think
that's probably the issue then
single channel ram is known to cause bad frame drops
consider replacing with a 2x8gb kit and selling the existing stick
ram replacement is very easy and doesn't require tools
most cases will also open without tools unless screws are overtightened
it really astounds me that prebuilt manufacturers love single channel ram so much
when it makes their product so much worse just to save $2 in manufacturing cost
it is the problem
I upgraded my laptop from 1x16 to 2x8 and the minimum fps went from 25 to 120
same speed
and I bought the 2x8 for 50 and sold the 1x16 for 45
so it was almost a free upgrade anyways
wait wait if i have a 2x8 and a 2x4 kit can it use dual channel
yeah
and can mac even use dual channel
if you have 4 slots
oh ok
It's weird though
just put an 8 and an 4 in each channel
that's a total of 24 GB
OS has nothing to do with dual channel that's hardware support
Yeah but it's weird how it works with mismatched sticks
So, 16GB of it will be dual channel, the other 8 will be single channel speeds
*mismatched quantities
no if it's 4 slots 2 channels you should be able to run all 24gb in dual channel
just put 8+4 in each channel
what if its 8+ 8 and 4+4 in the two channels
sure, I've never tried to run mismatched ram before so I'm open to being corrected
that would probably not be good
I am buying Aorus motherboard its good VRM with nvidia 3080 ? I guess. I am completely new in building
PC
Does this make sense? https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005657/boards-and-kits.html?wapkw=flex#flex
Guidelines for configuring your system memory to provide the best possible performance.
what you think i am overspending for Aorus Master x570 ?. I will have only one 1 ssd 1 TBB for a while to paly games
AMD does the same thing
5600X will run great on a $80 board if you don't need extra features
buy what you need the features of
@muted patio yeah but that's different from what I'm saying
that's 2+2 running in dual and the last 2 running in single channel
because there's no match for it
It applies to 4 sticks as well
but each stick has a matching counterpart
Hmmm, maybe I misunderstood
I get what you're saying
but each channel will have 12gb
so it should be full dual channel
from left to right I'd do 4 8 4 8
so the 2x8 are in the main pair
in terms of the memory topology
lets start building \
Hey i need ways of discharging myself, im putting custom cable extenders in my pc
@formal cosmos start with installing cpu 😂
contact with some metal elements xd easy way xd
why
@desert raven I always just touch a doorknob
every 5-10 minutes
i don’t think i’m ready
have built many pcs that way without issue
@formal cosmos just do it xd
just don't work while standing on carpet
why
discharge static electricity from your body by grounding yourself
i didn’t know you had to discharge yourself
yeah
i’m
totally
@formal cosmos discharge ur ctatic electric xd
static electricity has a small but nonzero chance to damage components
@formal cosmos just touch to some metal elements before start thats it
linus and electroboom did a really good collab video on it using a high voltage gun
not to derail, but it looks like that memory config will work
I misunderstood some things 🙂
only cpu can effected by statics mostly
can i work with socks and some nike sandals? lol
all good brother
@formal cosmos nice . just start to biuld it
good choice of case
the cpu and cpu cooler looks hard asf to put on
I did a build in that case recently and I didn't even know pc building could be that easy
nou just touch to some metal before start thats all
That power supply is also very nice
very well designed case
I just got one
ended up taking like 35 minutes to build
its easy dont worry
I'd rather see a WD or Toshiba hard drive though
why metal?
metal elements taking out statics
35 minute build
Wrong place sorry
lol
installing windows is just plugging in a usb drive and following the directions on the screen
yes it is
what about drivers
drivers will be installed automatically xd
and realistically windows will handle all of the drivers you need by itself if you have no idea what you're doing
you can update the graphics and chipset drivers
but it's not mandatory
you just should install updated drivers for gpu thats it xd
so technically all i have to do is get windows
yeah pretty much
oh
it's recommended to keep graphics drivers up to date but it's not necessary for the computer to function
i watched a joey delgado video and he updated drivers as soon as he was done building
windows will automatically install a slightly older version
yes
does the room temp matter? lol
while building? no
idk if it’s the room or i’m just sweating
room temp will have some impact on the running temp of the pc though
once it's built
Very small
you have nvidia gpu . you just gonna install nvidia experience and it will keep ur gpu drivers up to date
I don't have geforce experience
its cool thing
It is. Shadowplay is amazing
I don't find it useful personally
yes it is
the only game I play that generates potentially clipworthy moments supports recording replays already
the new nvidia broadcast is very cool though
now I can video call for work without caring about how my room looks

It also makes recording videos easy without using OBS or something too
I like OBS
OH yeah
Vintageracer helped me
I remember that
Speaking of
oof
Fr fr
nah
you didn't mess up, the motherboard manufacturer did for designing it like that
he told me about this
Yes
Ah
It was time for an upgrade anyway just sucks that it happened like that lol
I really like the meshify c though
That’s the case I bought
there's a chance that some components are alive
fair enough
well if you're upgrading you will be able to test
hopefully the gpu is alive still
Mhm I might be able to sell my rx 580 vintage said that would prob not break
gpus are very hard to find you may want to hold onto a temporary one for a while
Yea I’m not selling it right now
everything except the board is worth testing imo
I’m just hoping to maybe get my hands on a 3060 ti.
board is certainly dead
I’m sure it is
Mhm i7 7700 non k
can't imagine you would want to buy another 200 series board
Nope
I’m going amd too
So no way it would work lol
Unless I can get a deal on some Intel parts
well
you just shouldn't be looking at intel 7th gen in 2021
quad core as a dead end isn't a great idea
Yea it seems pretty outdated now
8700k aging much better
I’m hoping to go ryzen 7 3700x or the new ryzen 5
Okay yea there’s no reason I can’t wait if I’m going to also wait for a gpu
ryzen 5000 is getting easier to find now I think
I saw yesterday I was being blown up on stock drops
I had a 5600x in my cart for like 8 minutes in the last newegg drop just out of curiosity
could have easily bought it
and it wasn't in a combo
Yea I’m not looking to go over 1440p
Idk how tho
Yes the heat sink is fine
it's a good cooler though
Pretty sure the cooler will be fine
I've done 2 builds with it
The power cable that oofed is just CPU power
I like the way it looks
The fan power comes through the 24 pin
yeah it's just possible that more of the board was affected
worth testing
not hard to plug a fan into a header to test
it should be fine though
Oh yea I did that when the fiasco was going down yesterday
It did not work
It would move then stop
well that's probably the board being dead and not the fan
And the case fans did not move
you would need to test it on a different board
I bet it is the board
Yeah, that's a motherboard issue
Yeh I don’t have another board
Oh well
I may as well just return it for money back then buy another done down the road
you will eventually
Nah, save it for the AMD board
It'll work with that too
THe 5600x could use a good cooler
b550 aorus elite ax
seconded
I don’t neee WiFi
most people do not need x570 features
I’ll have it hard wired with Ethernet
Don't go x570 TUF, no flashback so the new CPU will work
yeah same so I got the non-ax
my modem is 8 inches away from my pc
no reason to use wifi
Yeh mines on the other side of the room my dad plays ps5 and has his ps5 right next to the modem
So
Gigibyte or asus?
are the RTX boards still impossible to find?
Or are both good just whichever one suits me?
product > brand
Well I’m just saying between those two?
That y’all suggested
If that’s more of a opinion
Ig*
I have the aorus elite myself
nothing to complain about whatsoever
it's one of the few b550 boards with sata ports on the bottom edge of the board
which is very nice for cable management if you have a sata drive in your build
has plenty of rgb headers to satisfy my addiction
I’m hoping of getting a m.2
vrms that are overbuilt for a 5950x
yes I have a 1tb m.2 nvme drive and a 6tb hard drive
so I need sata port
the aorus elite has some red stuff and gold caps near the audio chip
but it has never bothered me
in general the board looks very clean
I don't like the boards that have gray streaks all over the pcb
aorus elite is like a solid black slab
Well my amazing fried b250m a has orange lights on the side.
there's some subtle rgb on the board that I just set to white
not really noticeable when I have floodlights everywhere
Lool
I turned my edge light off
I’m stuck between RGB and black... my budget says no but my heart says yes.
I like white
I wanted a white one but it gets expensive I realized making a parts list
I do love that gpu
yeah but I replaced the front fans with some better ones
ID-COOLING XF-12025-ARGB
got 15 of them for $50

if i ever do a o11d build im buying those
You can get 1 Corsair for that much lol
instead of those overpriced ll120s
the stock fans in the td500 mesh do the job but their bearings are clicky
I wanted my build to be breathing-level quiet when I'm studying with no headphones
so it was unacceptable
I bought them off a pricing error lol
it's usually like $35 for 3?
still very cheap for such high quality fans
Oh damn what a steal
still p good
but not nearly as insane as 15 for $50
do u have a link?
can u buy just one fan
I'm not sure
they were out of stock for a while but looks like they are back
they're very quiet and can run as low as 20% on a pwm signal
very happy putting them in a "breathing-level" build
it's about what you would expect for a 360 aio
what temps do u get
ryzen 5 3600x, pbo scalar 10, -84 mV, LLC 3
ambient room temp 22C
idle temp (40% pump speed, 20% fan speed): 30-55C
gaming temp (80% pump speed, 40% fan speed): 45-55C
prime95 small ffts avx temp (100% pump speed, 60% fan speed): 72C
gets the job done quietly, I can't complain
yeah and I use argus monitor to control fans based on the avg temp of the cpu over the past 10 seconds instead of current temp
so it doesn't ramp up for a second and then ramp back down every time idle temp spikes
cause ryzen idle temps tend to be all over the place
Yes
for my new setup im trying to be as aesthetic as possible
so that aio is probably the one im gonna use
me: has nothing but hwinfo open
3600X: 4.4GHZ ALL CORE GO GO GO
temp: spikes to 55C
me: what
what do you see boy
my chip is a hyperactive toddler
😔
it used to drive me nuts hearing everything ramp up for 1 second while studying
wow xD
just sitting there
all of a sudden fan speeds go to 100% for 5 seconds lol
yeah but thankfully I can control my fans based on recent average temp now
spikes still happen but my fans don't ramp up unnecessarily
nice kek
what other black/white parts are there hmm
maybe ill buy trident z and set to white
nah thats a waste
anything that's black and has rgb is a potential black/white part
for the mobo hmm perhaps asus b550-a
if I want to make it pink for a day nothing is stopping me
I like white case the best for that reason too
blank canvas
and yeah I just have solid black ram
having white rgb ram would stick out on the surrounding black motherboard
white goes with everything
so I just went for stealthy ram
can't complain about 3800c16 for $68
but still looks very nice
wait 3800mhz?
Oloy?
no g.skill
rly
ripjaws v
just ripjaws?
RLY
it's a 3600c16 kit I just oced it lol
cant manage that
Not sure my IF will like that either
blue screens reeeee
on my old b450 tomahawk max
it wouldn't boot higher than 3733
on b550 aorus elite the same cpu and ram do 3800 happy as a clam
same timings
i have a 32 GB kit
i too lazy to oc my ram
32gb is harder to oc than 16gb
I know
i just turned on xmp and i done
the real gain isn't that much
you won't notice if you aren't looking at fps counter
I need 32 GB because I run some game servers and play at the same time
well
your pc will be more liberal with ram allocation when it has more to work with
true
I've never seen my ram usage go over 13gb

even playing the newest AAA titles with rtx on
i can have over 10 things open at once
I can still game with 20 tabs and a video call open
hasn't bothered me yet
might look into 32gb for ddr5
for i minecraft server for about 8 people how much ram would i need
back in the day I ran a minecraft server for 20 people on a laptop with 8gb ram
uh for just the server probably 4-8
and played the game on it at the same time
yes but minecraft uses alot more ram now
i set my mc to use 8 gb ram
not saying that's exactly how much you need
bc why not
I'm aware it uses more ram now
i mean would 16 be enough
for sure
i might be modding it as well
mods can get more intensive
we played bukkit so plugins but no mods
I allocated 2gb to the server lol
this was version 1.7
Finally finished my first build 🥲 3 new fans came in yesterday and the fan hub today, so got those suckers installed! 6 fans are loud 😂
when I was in middle school
oh nice dude
yes so like the stone age
1.7-1.89 were the best times for combat
yes
still play on 1.8.9 to this day
it was but this is not an arguement that should be had rn because it is going to trigger someone
are people divided about minecraft combat
bruh i am 14 and used to play with 1.8.9
YES 1.9+ COMBAT SUCKSSSS
yes
lol
and there is no skill involved
i never cared about the combat my friends and i just trolled each other like the dumb middle schoolers we were
i installed a plugin that let me change into mobs and pretended to be a ghast and threw fireballs at my friends
the new ppl dont even know what w tapping is
kek
a ghast in the overworld
i mean as a second grader i broke one of my friends laptops because i spawned in about 3000 creepers and then made them all blow up
yeah i also spawned an ender dragon outside my friend's house
dude
but it was disabled because it was riding a chicken
the memories
but the model was so large it was hiding the chicken
yeah
my brother once tried to spawn in 100000000 chickens at once
but i think that 16 would be enough
so there was an ender dragon walking around on the hill next to his house swinging his head into the ground
turns out my 4 gb of ram wasnt enough kek
i ran the game on a laptop with an i5-2310m, 8gb ddr3-1333, 640gb 5400rpm hard drive
no dedicated graphics
damn old
i still have a i5-2400 9800gt build with 16gb ram
i was jealous of my friend who was a rich kid
his parents bought him a macbook with a dgpu and he got 200 fps
bruh
lol
that was me but i had like a 5 year old computer so it was only like 100
when i built my first pc i installed minecraft just so i could feel vindicated
seeing it push 3800 fps and still remain at idle clock made me powerful
bruh you need like 40 fps for minecraft to be a good experience
that was with the most potato graphics possible though
nah i want 1000+ fps in mc while recording
I've had minecraft bring my 3080 to its limit lol
how much fps
bruh
just install the hardest shaders that you can find
bruh why you play bad version of minecraft
i wanted to try it out
and i was able to borrow an account
so i didn't have to pay for windows version
oh then you are not a bad human
yeah i did the same but with a 2060 and i still perfer the java shaders
they look a lot better when it comes to the lighting
i was building a pc for a mom who asked me to install games for her son because she didn't know how
and she wanted the version of minecraft that would "work with his friend's xbox"
so i bought windows version for her
Is that something I do in the BIOS or program
also would a 430 watt psu be enough for a system with a 180 watt cpu and a gt 710 so i dont need to change my gpus everytime that i want to acccess something
yeah
ight thank you for the help with this i am going to finnally have the ultimate minecraft server for me to die in rl craft
Hi guys I'm using a rosewill fan hub controller and those cables are for fan power, which get plugged in into cables from mb
what 180 watt cpu out of curiosity
that looks like molex..?
e5 1650v2
huh
Yeah it's a molex not a sata for power
i was just wondering cause getting a 180 watt cpu for a dedicated 8 person minecraft server is kind of a gamer move
i mean the only trust worth psu that would have pcie power connectors would be a 450 watt psu from evga
hey sips where do u get that emoji of this person but laughing or thinking

@earnest olive
87 seems high for idle?
?
87C idle means you mounted the cooler wrong
i have gotten lower temps with no thermal paste
yea those
My CPU cooler has been mounted the same for 2 weeks, I dont think I've hit these temps until after I took the mobo out to install the new fans
you took mobo out to install new fans? O_O
Yeah, I just took everything out
dragon center is awful, but it won't cause your cpu to idle at 87C
Now its down to 55 but slowly creeping up
I'll download hwinfo

Where would I find the temps
click sensors only when it starts
Oh gotcha. Yeah my CPU isnt in the 80s so I dont know what that was about lol even DC is registering a steady 52-54
Okay, last noob question... maybe. I just realized I didnt plug in the speed control into the Deep Cool FH 10 fan hub. It says it has to plug into the CPU Fan on the mobo, but my CPU cooler is plugged into that. Can I plug the FH10 into a fan header instead?
guys I need help in picking parts for a new system
What is a good ATX case for $50-70
i like rosewill but the case i got was $10 more
Phanteks P300
i'm going to strongly recommend against that case if you have any 3.5" drives
i did a build in it and the drive bay is terrible
it also only includes 1 fan
and is more expensive than the mx330-g air that includes 3 fans
white led as well
only thing i'm not thrilled about with the mx330-g air is that there's no preinstalled splitter for the 3 preinstalled fans, and mobos on this budget are often short on fan headers
P400 I’d go for at it’s price tho
but pwm splitter isn't very costly
Not at all
Should mount my stock fan as exhaust tomorrow instead of having 3 intake and 1 exhaust
nothing wrong with 3 intake 1 exhaust
2 of them being high quality Noctuas at that
Nah but it gets hot in there sometimes from air not being able to escape fast enough
poorly ventilated case?
Scratch that. I plugged the hub into the fan header and was able to change the system 1 header from DC to PWM, and it seems the fans are running as they should. Much quieter!
But now mystic light doesn’t have my ram listed to sync the RGB 🤔🤔
mystic light is honestly garbage you should see if MSIRGB supports your board
i found it to be much better when i had an MSI board
But how come switching from DC to PWM caused Dragon Center / Mystic Light to lose sync with my RAM
it didn't. RGb software is really buggy
probably unrelated, mystic light likes to drop stuff all the time
Just a coincidence
Huh yeah, I just restarted the comp and it’s back to syncing 🤦🏻♂️
i literally bought a new motherboard because i was so tired of msi software
Thanks for the help again, guys. At least I can call my build done

where did that message go
I suggest you take the hint that the messages were deleted.
I don't see where they were deleted IU just cant find them
Does newegg pay gamersnexus for using his likeness in their emotes?
I like to build computers but I can't afford to with all this gouging
newegg is promoting the blackmarket site, Silkroad
Sponsored by some china guy
2070 is the model number, not the price to inflate the card by
was that joke good? Can I make a friend yet?
Please I am so sad
I wouldn't call it promoting them
someone is just using their platform to sell something horribly overpriced
i think
im not talking enough in this server
i need vip
does anyone need help that an inexperienced teenager would be able to help with
no
the point is i am not smort but i want lighter green name
yk what i mean
chaython
join in the morning afternoon ish if u can
theres a lot more ppl there then
maybe you just need to be here a long time, I've built 17 computers
nah
i have a higher role than chaython i think
i have only built one computer

wait how do i not have regular
thats weird
So... just set up 9 Corsair QL120 with a commander pro and two lighting node cores all went smooth all fans are spinning but half the fans RGB isnt working all the fans on one lighting core. I had a extra so I tried swapping the lighting core I have also swapped the USB header and they both work so am I missing a step in the setup process?
I didn't understand that, maybe a defective commander pro
Lemme look up how many RGB headers it has
yea
bc each fan should connect for power and for rgb to the hub
did u do that?
each fan = 2 cables
and maybe dont put it all one one usb header use both?
idk how corsair stuff works
That would be possible but I swapped header and it worked one node core on both headers
wait lemme do some readin rq corsair is mad confusing
Corsair is confusing
fr
You read up on it rn, I'm gonna finish my homework, if you still are looking into this lmk
aight
Yeah I have 9 PWM wires plugged to the commander pro the off the two USB headers i have 9 RGB wires 4 on one node core and 5 on another the 4 are working the 5 r not
no
i gtg
i think hes done something wrong with the wiring of the controllers tho
not sure
why b450 when you can have b550
^^
Awesome setup!
Why go with a 550 when you can have a x570 for similar price?
Find an X570 at the same price
an x570 that's the same price as a b550 is generally going to be worse overall
and the x570 board has a chipset fan.. another component that can fail
I thought some were going fanless now or is that only the high end stuff?
^^ I should’ve clarified
very few high end ones are fanless i think
Finding an X570 at the same price of a B550 with equal quality is near impossible
And the board does need cooling which is annoying
well yeah, a higher end chipset isn't free
so if they're the same price something else is being sacrificed
Also isn’t the only use of an X570 PCIE gen 4 and better VRM POSSIBLY
b550 also has pcie gen 4 iirc
chipset has nothing to do with vrm
and b550 has 20 pcie 4 lanes
you can run 1 pcie 4 gpu, 1 pcie 4 ssd, and 1 pcie 3 ssd on b550
the percentage of people who actually benefit from x570 over b550 is very little
my b550 board already has overkill vrms for a ryzen 9 5950x
so i don't know what else more you could want unless you're doing LN2 OC
but if you're doing that then you're not asking which board you should buy, you already know
I thought the best of the best for OCING and VRMS are X570s
MorenPCIE gen 4
why would chipset have anything to do with vrms
you could theoretically have an a320 board with the best vrms ever made
Well not because of the chipset but because of a higher end mobo
nothing is stopping that from happening
Lol I thought it was just another selling point of the X570
But then again my VRM knowledge is still limited
why do you think x570 is automatically higher end
I just thought it was a selling point of the x570
MSI
these two boards are the exact same price
MSI TYPICALLY not always has higher quality boards than asrock
?
At thst price point
brand name has nothing to do with this...
I guess
it's common sense
if two boards are the same price and one has a more expensive chipset
then there must be sacrifices elsewhere to meet the same price
I agree though I’m not arguing against that lol
I said that here
b550 boards are generally going to be better than same priced x570 boards unless you really need the niche x570 features
which is why it's disheartening that this is such a common sentiment
Well yeah
I completely agree with you
I just thought X570 boards had better VRMS and I was wrong
I wired it wrong node core has to go in order from 1 to 6 i had fan in pin 3, 4, and 5. I feel dumb
What CPU?
I also would assume the mobo is discontinued that’s why
It would work, but it’s super inflated
no longer made
Z390 is an older chipset that has been superceded by the Z490
Price is more than it should be
It’s better
Yeah I forgot
And still supports your CPU
490 is LGA1200
I’m sure you can find another one you like, the Z390 board will be hard to find I doubt it’s still being manufactured
the vrms on this board are not great
you might not be able to max out the 9900K's potential on it
you're fine potentially sacrificing performance for looks?
@earnest olive its an overall sentiment with a few exceptions that the b550 was introduced as a more budget friendly mobo after the x570 went out , requires less voltage as its power drain is lower but it trades off some important factors overall. The a520 and b550 both are pcie 3 lane generation whereas the 570 is pcie 4 overall. Its comparing the x570's 16 to 12 to 6 in the lane comparison which is why it the other two draw less power consumption. Granted you are still going to have the same old 1x16 or 2x8 for the pcie. Price point on alot of the b550's and x570's are around 180 to 230 bucks so its not really that much of a difference.
That’s a wall of text LOL
currently running my 3080 in pcie 4 mode on my b550 board
ain't nothing budget about this board
$150 and it can push a 5950x to its limit and has more pcie 4 lanes than i can use
I said generally. I didn't say there wasn't room for exceptions based upon your brand manufacturer bruh
dunno where you have picked up this misinformation
no? it's not generally
b550 has 20x pcie 4 lanes
I’m gonna dip now lmao
that's part of the spec
don't expect 5ghz
it won't fail but it's not a great choice for a 9900K
might be able to do 4.7-4.8
well it depends on what you think looks good
i wouldn't pay $300 for this board
how's that?
gigabyte z390 designare
slightly cheaper but much better
not great value but it has a similar look
looking at these z390 boards right now
i like this design
looks cool to me
i plan on getting a 5900x and a 3080 for my build but the problem im having right now is that i have a evga 850w ga supernova PSU and ive been reading that it has problems when it comes to the 30 series (most reports are with the FTW 3080 which is not the one i plan on getting) should i get another power supply?
might as well try it
my 3080 is having zero issues with my 750w psu
it's not about brand name
msi has good models too
the z390 designare will be able to max out the 9900K yes
it's $270 though
if you like how it looks and don't mind shelling out $270 for a board then you can go for it
any z390 board is going to be pcie 3.0
and makes no difference to gpu
do you already own the 9900K?
i'm asking because you're saying first build
okay
i see
as long as the $270 price tag doesn't bother you then that's a good board
Taichis have interesting designs
Personally not a fan but taichis are always interesting to see
i really like that one
I think it has too much going on tbh but it’s not a bad board at all
Just not my taste
not a fan of the b550 taichi though
New mobo comin tmr
lol wait what there's a b550 taichi razer edition
Ngl I like the x570 taichis
Yeah I like thst one lolll
Do you mean x570?
Oh there’s both
They don’t look too bad tbh
The b550 taichi is ok 570 is cooler imo and the razer ones are fine
💸
any familar with nvme temps
i think ive figured out my stuttering problem
my nvme temps are 54 samsung magician reports it as high
i set up a fan directly pointing at my nvme and temps dropped to 30 stuttering has gone away
@ripe wedge this is with the game running in the background
that was me trying to put them at 100 expecting a diffrence
And ur power limit is turned down too
There’s some sort of issue we’re missing here
Post a pic of ur gpu
this is with evga prec what i normally use
my targets are changed cause i thought that was the problem i wasnt setting it right
nah 100% is what it should be at
its not reading fan 2 or the third fan the cooler came with
How tight did u tighten the cooler
it shouldnt
Did u tighten until it was not loose or until it couldn’t anymore
as much as i could with being afraid if it was to tight i might break it
mine was 2 stock fans yes
You need to tighten it basically as tight as it can go
I’ve repasted a gpu so I know
Did u tighten it like putting a wheel on a car?
Corner to corner?
i tried to install clips on the sides as well but they were made of plastic and broke
i men its not going any higher then 80
so i guess im wondering is that ok under max settings game over a period of 6+ hours
under idle?
hang on ill tell u
let me stop rust and ill tell u
Ah ok
yea i was doing this under while the game was still on alted out lol
thought i mentioned that
after closing rust its at 32
That’s normal
Yeah true but it’s still cooling off quick
There are motherboard tier lists
its 29 now
Think there’s an AMD one on LTT forum
the cooler box itself defined itself as it should run at max 70 temp under load
i can have my gpu on the AC cooler and have it idle at 0C
so i was thinking i did something worng
but when i get in game it doesnt do better than what current solution i have on the card
80C is a little hot
thats what i thought
U said that was like ur max?
80 to 83 under load when playing rust on max settings as u can have it
thats still ok
how does it do with 100% power limit though
because 70/80 will lower power draw significantly if its under max load
meaning less heat
linked?
cause 100% power and gpu temp set to 70 i felt like it was getting a tad bit hotter
keep gpu temp limit at 90
70 is just gonna make you TT earlier/lower clocks at high load
And 100% power
fan speed 2 doesnt seem to matter at this point?
i guess its using your vbios for fan control
and its detecting only 2 fans
is the 3rd one spinning?
yes
Hold up
I wonder
Do the stock fans spin 1 way and the other spins the other way?
Idk just a random guess
no i dont believe they did that
both should be blowing on the gpu
well all 3
middle one maybe not
but usually all on the gpu
i gues it will be fine idk
some gpu have opposite direction fans 🤔
no just the one plug it came with 2 because this cooler is capable of being used with mupliple gpus so i used the one it was ment for
and no @ripe wedge one plug
Ah
Well this is about as much as I know for cooling solutions for gpus lol. I don’t know too too much about the cooling stuff on them.
3fan gigabyte using middle fan turning opposite 🤔
Yeah my aorus master has a counter rotating fan I think in the middle
@little osprey it would make no sence for one fan to turn oppisite of another one a heatsink in my experiance
ive never seen that happen
yep middle fan turning opposite way
Yep thought so
idk if it makes sense or not but company using it xd
i have 2 different 1660super on my different pc . gigabyte 3fan is around 60-65c . also asus tuf (very small one xd) is around 55c
under load?
