I'm building a PC around an MSI B450 Tomahawk max. I used a harddrive from laptop that stopped working with Windows installed on it and it seems to boot OK, but when it gets to login, the USB keyboard and mouse are not working. The keyboard and mouse do work in the motherboard setup. I did try taking out and reinserting the system battery. Any other ideas?

you can always get the motherboard and see if it post and run memcheck to see if it comes up with any errors. Ran memcheck and it came up with over 9000 errors... so i got new ram. best buy also has returns till the 16th still i think.

most likely drivers

Make sure they're all up to date and so is Windows

Update all programs that need it, check for driver updates, OS updates. Then see if it still happens
If it does see if it’s a common theme across many games and not just a few. Some times games have to catch up with internal updates with driver updates
