I have some experience with standalone mic setups like that, I used to have a boom arm like the one in the picture but it was a little finicky. I upgraded to a Rhodes boom later and it is absolutely perfect. A few years into use the Rhodes boom got a little creaky on me so I lubed it with WD40.
I don't know about the mic itself tho. And I've never used one with a usb connector like that. (mine goes to a separate audio interface that plugs into usb)
