yep
how so?
Is 9446 good for a i7 9700k non overclocked at cinebench r23
this video gonna tell why it is bad
that's a THICC 2 though
oh wait
my bad
lol I was boutta say
Hi
i actually mixed both cards lol
It's thicc
but still wouldn't trust thicc cards
What is the best motherboard for a i5 under 140$
i would go like nitro, pulse or red devil
Depends on price
I trust the opinion of Hei the Techie tho they put it on my build
If price for these guys is like 90 more then yes thicc is good
ok then, up to you
dont have too much trust for thicc cards but also i dont follow amd gpus too closely cause they still have yet to make a good one
i just remember hearing heat horror stories
I wouldnt buy a pc right now due to the lack of stock which results in wayy too expensive hardware
true
If I were you I wouldn't buy a pc right now and wait till prices come to a logical level
Here a 5700xt is super overpriced
rx 50xx cards are very wonky
The price can go up to 650 euros
even 60xx sucks for me
How do I link rgb fans together. I have 3 phantrks from the p400 and 2 msi from my watercolor. All are running but none are glowing. Please help me
I remember I found a 3090 for 2400 euros here
Have u got rgb on or off? Double check that
i don't know about the 60xx cards
but should have less mistakes then the rx 50xx cards
both are ass to me
Better get a 6800xt lol it's much more worth it for 70 bucks
No it doesn't 😂😂
lili
tf are you talking about
ehh
im talking about encode
i though you was drunk
not sure about that
but yeah nvenc does wonders
nah just high
rn amd hw encode like
barely exists
U can go see the benches for urself @upper cobalt
i remember my vega 64 got bodied by my 1050ti
amd cards are more focused on gaming
do yall think its possible to build a pc with a 5600x and 3060ti for $1000-$1100 with a gold rated psu
Damnnn thats crazy
what's recommended PSU for 5700 XT?
@jaunty nacelle I think it's possible
like 600w
possible if you get both of them at MSRP
@mortal void I think you can go with 550 at least bronze or 600w with at least bronze
550 is the sweet spot tho
yeah you don’t need more than a 550
minimum 600 watt recommended 700 says Google
700 is almost for a 3080 wdym😂
Go with 550 lol
under almost full cpu and gpu load i had a lott of headroom with a 600w gold
But if you wanna upgrade down the line go get a 600
you’d be fine with a 550
650 probably better. I'm trying to see what a local/online build would cost
only*
If its not too expensive
they literally cant do anything else
Yeah that would do
smart access memory
which for a lot of people is fine
Okay then go buy nvidia if you hate amd? Your choice
nvidia has BAR also
i hate nvidia too
Damn thats complicated
am i not allowed to point out the flaws in a product
what are good PSU Brands. Corsair Werf?
i still tell people to get amd cards
seasonic
guys what does pcie gen 4 do?
i just also tell them that nvidia has better features for the most part
whats the advantage of gen 4 over gen 3?
and is honestly a more compelling buy
gen 4 is faster I believe
bandwrith
yes bandwrith
But AMD has some good budget cards
So it's sometimes better
youll love it
what is the advantage of the double bandwith speed
Thats hella true
Choose based on value and needs
and dude trust me
used budget cards
because the new ones are meh
lol
Seasonic Focus Plus Gold?
at anything related to productivity
the 5000 series is doing great though
anything seasonic
amd cpus
do you have any idea how awful nvidia drivers on linux are
But aren't the new cards probably good enough for that?
smh
for productivity?
no
they’re terrible
no cuda, no nvenc, no render perf, amd's renderer literally breaks renders
and i’m an amd fanboy
encoder
drivers
and some.other stuff
I'm an amd fan boy too
its so bad
Lol
like its actually awful
it makes me upset that they dare to sell workstation gpus still
Yeah but that doesn't mean nobody gonna buy the 6000 series gpus right?
Wait what’s a scalper?
for productivity? maybe not
Only on workstations they might not choosr
but scalpers will still buy
And gamers
But what’s a scalper
for the most part
people gonna buy 60xx cards because they want to save 50$
or because they are a fanboy
or they just want a amd card
or they just gonna game on
buy for msrp resell for over msrp
people that resell stuff for more than msrp
Ah okay 👌🏼
Or they just don't know anything about cards and just bought the first thing they see 😂😂
easy money
that too.
6800 bigger number than 3080
AMD is better for over clocking intel is better just for gaming
opposite
Well I think it's the other way
no.
Intel is good for overclocking
But AMD is better for gaming these days
HOW people were just telling me that AMD is better
k series has headroom for some fun stuff
And content creation
Like AMD is better for streaming and gaming
depends
if someone has a video editing workstation i tell them to maybe stick with intel
Intel has better overclocking than amd not gonna lie but and still outperforms by a good margin
Yeah but still
amd rn is better for gaming
with intel begin the "budget" option
and intel has better OC
with amd chips not that easy to OC
Intel overclocks and outperforms the AMD?
Not really
Bruh then what are you saying
yeah but still can't OC that much though
would be nice if intel unlocked all of their chips to OC
I’m so confused
Intel falls behind is power but if you overclock them u get more power but not as much to outperform amd
While amd doesn't get as much of a boost but still get a bit
That's all
Yeah
though the 3000g is a great for overclocking aswell
it seems to OC well
but still not much gains from OCing it
Yeah Intel got better gains on oc
So which is the better in your opinions
Depends on your use
on what?
Amd 200%
For streaming and gaming
which is 160$
Yeah but AMD is great value as everybody is daying
so it's all situational
right now? not really.
The new 5000 chips are rocking
amd CPUs are overpriced with intel having better chips for it's value
it is but 5000x series are ovepriced imo(aside from 5600x)
The 5950x is just 20 more than the 10th gen Intel i9 and its still great value
It's got way better results
well, seems like it
though 5800x is ovepriced compared to it's counterpart
aka the 10700k
also i wonder how much the 10700k is rn
5800x is way overpriced
Yea ig
but it felt like it was intentional to leave space for a 5700x
They shouldn't have done that
why not? they got way more perf than intel rn
5600xt is just a 3600x with higher boost clocks and better configuration
But still the gains are great
they are becoming what intel was.
I hope they won't become like that
they will.
sorry to break for you but...amd will
U sure?
I believed that after the 3000 series launch they would rock the market and make it a better place but I was wrong
They're gonna become the new Intel hungry for more money
Yeah that would be great
IF amd continues to beat intel
And what if they don't become?
That would be great
Yeah they gonna be rich tho
😂
Such good marketing
again
IF they continue to beat intel to the point of becoming leader on the market
you might see CPUs price rise
and 11th gen for intel isn't looking so great.
I know I saw some articles
Is 9448 good for a core i7 9700k
It's not that good
Non over clocked
yeah, on high end it is not looking so great
What is a 9448?
The r23 score
so amd could rise the price of new CPUs with high core count
It's okay
I want to stress test my cpu before I get my 3060 ti on Sunday
I wanted 70 or 80 but I also wanted it this year
Okay thats not hard
I am just going to do a ton of back to back runs
I think if you get the expected results on like 2 or 3 runs it will be just fine
No need to make your cpu sweat for no reason 🤣
Ok
Btw how were you able to find a 3060ti?
lol, 3060 ti gonna do fine with that cpu
On Monday the rtx 3060 ti was in stock at Best Buy for a hole 3 minutes
Are you part of stock drops
Can someone join vc I need help with my hhd
A 5700xt is over 600 euros
i don't think you need VC for that
Just respond to the pins
I would help but I can't cause its late if it was day I would help you
I have a nh-d15 so it should not thermal throttle
Oh damn that is a good cooler
Ok I need help where to put my HDd cause it doesn’t fit in the spots in the case it should
It is going to be finee
Ok
So ur pc will be working great
did you read the manual?
I'm happy about u dude
Thanks
My case and hdd didn’t come with one
Try to find the manual online if thats possible
The one annoying thing is I had to stick the other fan on the io Side so I might have to get a new fan in a year or so
Not a huge deal
Yeah one fan is not very expensive
Is like 3 mm from not fitting though
can you send the case link them? like a store where it sells it?
I got it on Amazon but yea
plus your hdd specs aswell
What hdd u have?
Barracuda 1tb compute
my guess it's a 3'5 inch hdd
And what case?
Ur right lol
Deep cool mattex 30
yeah, there isn't a hdd tray
Can you just throw it in that small cage on the right down corner?😂
looks like you have to insert it in and screwdrive in place
But the 2 little notches are in the way I might just bend them off
I have a tiny one tho
Can u show it from the back?
Its probably a 2.5 inch hard drive
wait...thats...
2.5 inch
i had a 3.5 inch drive before and trust me
it's bigger than this
thats 2.5
should fit like a glove there
Ok ima bend these 2 notches and then it should fit
I can’t tho
checked the model
and yeah
2.5 and thats a laptop hdd
isn't that like...screwdrived in place?
Btw u did a good job on cable managmement
Idkk
Damnn
Yea
It’s a beautiful case
Cant you just jam it somewhere and pray for the best? 😂🙏
Just duct tape it to the bottem totally
my hdd bay so uh...and looking at the picture
it is screwdrived in place
there is small holes for 2.5
and biggers one for 3.5
Just try to have it stay in place with its cables or smthing
But if I bent the notches on my case I can screwdriver it into the spot
@steel tartan did your hdd come with screws or do you have some? you could try to screw it in place
U got 2 2.5 inch bays
Did you check the back of the case if it has one bay?
maybe it's on the back?
plus the bay he has seems like it should accept both 3.5 and 2.5
We're thinking the same thing all the time bro 😂
Yeah ig
Maybe there?
I think thats for the hdd or ssd cables
could be
Halp
Yea it is
that two holes seems like for the 2.5 inch drive
Yeah most likely
They don’t fit there
🤔
Google the error and you'll find something I found a way to fix my errors this way lol
try to put them inside
them maybe try to screwdrive them in place
Ok I will try again
Yeah
I also got rgb graphics card that’s barely gonna fit
nice
What does rgb have to do with how much space the card consumes? 😂
btw have you tried to insert on the top?
there is two dedicated 2.5 bays
than the bay should be that one
the bottom one seems like a hybrid 3.5 & 2.5
Try to find people using this case and putting their ssds in there
I did already
Damn I see
Ok
Anyway can you show me ur case one more time?
Damn so much ketsup and mustard thoo
not my build tho lol
Yea lol
but i guess akame is doing something wrong
I have 0 of those cables all black
if this russian could fit in a 3.5
then he should be able too
Isn't it possible to screw in only one side?
I have screw holes
Isnt it possible to screw it in on the top of thebay on the only one side?
No cause of the nothces it raises it up but I’m bending them it’s final
I see
Ok it’s done I cut them off
Cut what?
The notches
Can u show me?
well, should move to #cases-psu-and-cooling ?
The thing that’s bent up
anybody know anything about GSkill Psu's? im considering buying one for the great price and because GSkill has a good rep with their products being quality.
OK cut them off Idk tho 😂😂
If its reliable go ahead don't hesitate
@foggy bough the thing is that nobody really knows anything about them. 😂 there are no reviews on microcenter and people dont really talk about it
@steel tartan does your hdd have screwdrivers holes on the top? 4 of them
you could install on the back
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37469474 just tested my build
I would avoid then and go with a more reliable choice like thermaltake corsair deepcool coolermaster Asus evga and many more
There now it fits
🤷
if you want a reliable psu, just go with popular ones where everyone recommends it.
3600xt kinda overpriced lol go buy a 3600 instead (if you find any stock though)
or 10400
Yeah ig
@foggy bough too late. everything is already built haha
U actually found stock on the 3060 ti bro? Thats crazy
which keycap puller should i buy
Nicee
keycap puller?
yes
Any keycap is good
i dont have one
some keebs come with keycap pullers :P
Yeah they do
I have a keycap puller like that one, except it came with my Keychron keeb
lol, just discovered that keycap puller exist
i just use a screwdriver to pull it off
what
lol
i also need a switch puller
Wth is your pfp lol
and reccomendations
i just got a new keyboard bro
what keeb
My friend drilled a hole in his motherboard... and it’s still working. Is that normal?
glorious gmmk
damn it
why
buy a keychron smh
why
it is actually painful to do it
i just use a screwdriver, way faster and i use menbrane keyboard so...
I don't think thats normal
comes with keycap puller and switch puller
Why would they do it😂
Idk why he did it, but he did
@raw crane if they got very lucky
And it worked
well i think its too late considering im typing to you on a gmmk
Damn thats crazy
He said he wanted to fit somethinf in it
but if you drill through a trace
what
yea bye bye board
atleast he didn't damage it.
Ye
He drilled through it and it worked wdym 🤣🤣
Bye bye!!
drilling a mobo should never be attempted.
Byeee
bye
yea you should never drill through it
Do you think it’s more affordable to pre-build every little single thing In your pc
And I mean everything, you build every single component from scratch
For a ryzen 7 3700x should I get a b550 or an x570 that’s the only thing I haven’t decided on
I don’t understand
do you plan on using the pcie gen 4?
Haha I have Ryazan 3 3100
Is a B550 a mother board
Me broke
Most likely I bought a 3060 the other day
eh...i would just go b550
the pcie gen 4 is not a big deal on x570
Ok swag thanks homie
unless you find like a x570 for cheap or same price as b550
I have 2 that are 179 each
get the x570 then i guess? the only real difference is the pcie gen
ye
what's a good m.2 for Win 10
can someone put together a pcpp list for me please with a 3060 ti
budget is $1100 but would like to only spend $1000
Sure
and mostly likely pcie gen 4 to not be used for a long time if someone is gaming on that PC
Good luck with that I paid like 550 for my 3060
unless cards get a big jump
Yeah
any recommendations for a boot m.2?
could drop board down to B460 to save a bit of monies @jaunty nacelle
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4FgtkX
@mortal void MP34, SN750, 970 evo
tyty
take your pick
oh and case is overkill @jaunty nacelle, could swap for cheaper case and more storage
ram is weird, usually there's a kit or two at 55$ for 2x8gb 3200cl16
but eh
@stoic island 250GB enough for win 10 + programs?
I suggest 512gb
500GB is the best option. I'm looking at the sn750
970 evo 500gb at 60$ is p nice
I already have a 1tb for my game drive
fair
for the 970
but anyways, 256gb vs 512gb price wise makes 256gb useless imo
I'll compare prices tho between 500 gig models
sn750 is good but not when the 970 is within $5-10
imo
meh
like a $25 difference on 500GB SN750 and 970
then id go 750
yeah
plus my mobo has an m.2 boost slot so system drive will go in there so sn750 will be fine
question. Steel Legend B450 or B450M Pro4
What is a good motherboard for a i5 10600k
Cus I’m 100 dollars off my pc and I’m getting ready to order
But I’m not sure about my motherboard
I found what case I have
What does it mean when a cpu has 6 cores and 12 threads
That it has 6 cores and 12 threads
Does anyone know how to trouble shoot a pc that doesn’t give a display. I got ram for Christmas inserted it and now it won’t display anything. Same with the original ram
use integrated?
You sure you plug in cable for display?
650w should be good enough for this build right?
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/RWJfVc
I have a 2070 hooked up originally
And a display port hooked to both monitor and pc
Yes
1080p 144hz 24" for like $219.99 I think. It's MSI G241
that's probably a good monitor IDK
Doesn’t display anything even with the same ram
Well you see one side can open but other doesn’t move
Yes but both sides click in
lemme just win the lottery real quick. Get my PC build and Peripherals for like $3200
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37034298 I userbenchmarked my build lol
gross
Ok

i will trade my 750ti for the 5700 xt
which one should I go with
option 1 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6LyGJf
option 2 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MHnwz7
first one
smart 🤔
If I don’t plan on building until probably end of Q2 next year should I just sell my 3060ti FE and buy again then or hold on to it?
your gonna scalp it?
Probably like +$25 for what I paid for it.
Dropped my computer, cpu cooler lifted up from ripping the screw threads and killed the cpu and ssd with liquid metal
Ssd caught the liquid metal that would have hit gpu
can someone help me with an issue i'm having with my m.2
i may just be dense and not getting that what i'm trying to do doesn't work
?
i have an SSD and HDD in my pc already
got an m.2 ssd
it's appearing in the bios as a drive I can boot to, but I just want to use it as additional storage and in windows its not appearing as an available drive
Windows 10 yeah?
have to format it first
In search, type Disk management
Click Create and Format hard Disk Permissions
i knew it had to be simple and i was just being dumb
im actually sad that I'm only missing a SATA cable for my PC to be finished
None in your motherboard box?
None
B365 Pro4
"- Quick Installation Guide, Support CD, I/O Shield
- 2 x SATA Data Cables
- 3 x Screws for M.2 Sockets
- 1 x Standoff for M.2 Socket"
Should have come with 2
Might wanna check again
Maybe you took them out and set them somewhere or it's still in the box? typically they're under the cardboard tray the motherboard sits in
Or in a box on the end of the card board tray
Alr
how dangerous would it be for me to keep my m.2 in the socket without a screw
until i get one tomorrow maybe
never got the screws
I mean, do yu want it to short and potentially ruin the drive?
I would wait until tomorrow. M.2 doesn't come with screws. Your motherboard does though. Still have the box?
My dad also told me to throw away my old Ethernet cord
He promised me a new one if I threw it away
And he refuses to get a new one but opting for a wifi card
most WiFi speeds are faster than your internet anyway
it was a prebuilt when i got it so no
Awww
Try building one
Still have the box the PC came in?
Its nice
Might be in there
nope
yeah im pissed
Reason: Bad word usage
i moved a few months ago so i don't know where the stuff went
bruh
it was my SATA cable was under my manual under my desk
kill me
its 12 am
XD
happens to the best of us
Hmmm, got an old hard drives laying around you can take apart Xtino?
🔫
Cuz, you didn't hear this from me, some of them have screws that fit M.2
Reason: Bad word usage
le sigh
man cpu prices suck
I thought that last year's boxing day sales were this year's but nope
this review on microcenter for the m.2 screw kit is hilarious
I got a I3-9100F CPU for my CPU like 120$
and i got 9 dollar speakers
like what but my parents saved by getting a different one
yeah the boxing day sales from last year are CHEAPER than current prices by a long shot
There also wasn't a pandemic forcing everyone to stay home and hoard hardware last year either lol
With supply shortages for many items
guys need an advice for a GPU under $400 for a ASUS Z170-PRO GAMING ATX MoBo
What CPU is more important than what motherboard
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core
But I am advising a friend on an update for GPU
Any thoughts? So far I found EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC2 Gaming, 8GB GDDR5
yes what should he be looking at though? I though there are some sales right now which could be decent.
Not really, no
The 1070 is an old card not worth $400
3060TI is a $400 card with a few times the performance
Thank you
Mhhhh, I got the GTX 1650 Super for like 150-200 dollars, might be worth it.
It can play most games at 1080p high settings
Even that is pushing it
should I just buy the 2600 for 150 USD and be done with it or wait for the prices to eventually come back?
2600 CPU?
for my new build (in the mail) im using a r5 5600x and a b550 aorus pro ax. will i have to update the bios so that it can use the r5?
yeah
and hows the way to go about that
fr
yeah sadly I'm pretty sure microcenter or something would offer a service to do it for you
you'd just need a usb drive then, no cpu
oh nice
yeah I have no idea if amd still offers the free cpu upgrade loan program thingy
so i would assemble my whole pc except for my cpu plug in the usb restart and then go into bios
but if wouldn't hurt to look into that
do you have another pc or laptop or something?
yes
yeah just update your bios with the usb drive and q-flash
aight
probably a decent tutorial on youtube, I'm not too familiar with it
It super easy if you follow the few steps. Its like
- format a 32gb or less drive in fat32.
- download the latest bios for your motherboard, unzip it and either rename it as per mobo instructions or use included renamer.
-put that file on the formatted usb
-plut in the special slot your mobo manual tells you is the only one that does this - press a special button until you see some special indication your mobo manual spells out, then wait until you see what your mobo says is success
Hey what's a good 650$ budget pc build
I just built a new pc (using the asrock b550 phantom gaming 4/ ac and a sata 3 ssd, which is apparently compatible with the motherboard according to the motherboard website) And even when I look in the BIOS I look in the partitions only the hard drive seems to be appearing and not said SSD, please help
NVME or an actual 2.5" SSD?
Nvme,
So a SATA NVME then
I read the manual
And it doesn't list any SATA NVME compatibility but I'm reading it again/more
Yeah, bad news. That motherboard won't work with SATA NVME drives
Take it out before it's ruined
"The Hyper M.2
Socket (M2_1) supports M Key type 2260/2280/22110 M.2 PCI Express module up to
Gen4x4 (64 Gb/s) (with Matisse) or Gen3x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Renoir)."
It doesn't work with sata 3 either?
I would take the NVME drive out
and do more tests
Since it's a SATA NVME in the slot, it may be messing up the BIOS. Sata 3 should work
Sorry to distract you guys but which chat is a good place to ask questions about routers. Cause ive kinda been ignored and im tryna get some help but im too nervous to @ people
Ah. I see
So, im looking for recommendations on gigabit speed routers since my provider has that service.
Whats the difference, sorry.
So, a modem is what the cable from your ISP plugs into, typically the coax cable
A router has a lot of ethernet ports and WiFI and simply directs traffic
A modem connects you to the internet
A router just connects PC's on a network
So the coax cable is the round one that plugs into the wall thats really hard to unscrew right?
Yes
Ye
So, the way i take it, the router has ethernet ports and wifi antenna. But the modem doesn't. Right?
Then i might still be a bit confused on the difference between the two sorry.
The router is for connecting ALL the PC's and devices in your house so they can all talk together
It does not provide Internet
A Modem connects you to the internet, IE Google. And can also connect all the devices in your house to the internet
Typically a modem provides one connection to the internet. The router splits that connection intelligently between your devices
Some advanced modems have like some router capability built in
So the coax cable connects to the modem, which either connects to a separate router, or functions as the router if it has the hardware?
Okay
yes
Now
How many of your devices are on WiFI and how many wired?
Because most WiFI won't even come close to using Gigabit speeds. So if your entire house is WiFi, Gigabit is basically useless.
So for my household i have 2 phones and 2 xboxes. 1 xbox is wired the other is going to be as well but is on wifi currently.
Ok
In that example, Xbox will have Gigabit speeds. Phones will not
Just so you know before you make the jump
Gotcha, im fine with that.
Not a national one. Its called Wave Broadband. Its out in Seattle.
HI fellow Washingtonian!
Howdy pardner
Checking to see what WAVE requires
Most providers have a list of acceptable equipment they've tested with their system, so it's good to check
Other stuff may or may not work but you won't get any support if it's not on their lists of certified to work
Hah
The modem i have rn isnt fast but it does have wifi. Am I able to string them together somehow?
Probably? Depends on the modem TBH
1 sec ill either send a pic or try and figure out the model
I'm looking for other compatible modems
Looks like they gave me the arris dg 3450 since im renting rn.
Ithink this is it
Wow, AC wifi on that one
Hmmm
Wait, that already has 32 channels
AND DOCSIS 3.1
Have you called them to see if that will work with Gigabit?
On paper it should
Oh, nevermind, those channels are on the wrong frequency
My bad
Forget that
Not really, but i javent tried it corded to see if itll work
But i cant shake the suspicion im getting bamboozled a little bit
By wave i mean
So if i use a supported modem and my own router for wifi. Will i still recieve support. Not sure if that applies to what you said earlier
yes
they will only support the Modem though
Not the router for your Wifi
And looking into this more, there are hardly any WiFi/Gigabit routers available
And for the $300 cost, you can probably get a router for less money
And I really like TP-LINK Routers. So this one for WiFi. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AC1200-Smart-WiFi-Router/dp/B07N1L5HX1/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=WiFi+router&qid=1608965554&s=electronics&sr=1-4
Merry Christmas!
Oh hey btw
Theres a discount on this TP router https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079JD7F7G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_dlT4_26T5Fb3JP5WBZ
Not sure if i should go for this one since its like 10 dollars more
Well, TBH, the AC1750 part is probably too fast for your wireless devices. That said, it can't hurt for future use. Right now, it's overkill so your choice
I mean, it's only $10
XD
Send it. ill check the product reviews just in case the other one is more reliable

You can probably find a 32 gb ram for around that price if you try and look, other than that it looks fine to me, would be nice to know your GPU as well but that's fine.
Also 32 gb is kinda overboard, so it's your choice really.
