i like ur pfp
sucks!
i was preaching about waifus so they muted me lol
unfortunate
not to brag, but a girl once talked to me
a girl is talking to u rn tbh
ikr
hello i need help
same
same
This is the build I’m thinking about doing. Anything you would suggest different? https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/yPTwrH/enthusiast-amd-gamingstreaming-build
it looks like an ok build
its ok
tbh there’s a few things to change
Hmmm yummy sandwich
goddam hybrid??? dude got mad bread
giveaway for one of jokers 3080s starting and ending in 1 second say hi to enter
hi
oh wowie looks like i won
I'm but a humble God lmaooo jk
The ftw is already reserved
how much are they paying
@little osprey Good build, have fun!
dammitr
thank you!
Plus i traded a 3060 ti for the ftw
@little osprey u could also wait for the r5 3600 to come back in stock/go back to $199.99 usd
OK first build, trying to get my cables all attached and I ran into a problem with the 12v CPU power. I have a maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi, the on board connection is Topset: Round, Square, Square, Round - Bottomset: Square, Round, Round, Square. But that cable didn't come with my seasonic power supply.
i swapped out the ryzen 2600 for the 3600
I would change it to intel lga 1200 & 10400
you can do a lot more with $900
Anyone want to see a vertical mounted evga ftw3 ultra system
@earnest olive you there?
i am busy
oh im sorry
if you got a question make it quick
i got 2 questions but they are easy
go
rank these motherboards
ASUS B550-E ROG STRIX GAMING
ASUS B550-F ROG STRIX GAMING
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO AC
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO

i have the AORUS ELITE
it's more than enough to max out an overclocked 5950x while also being the cheapest of the stack
at least it should be
AORUS PRO AC can be worth it if you want the built in wifi
i got my AORUS ELITE for 150 usd it's a good board
i guess ill get AC just incase
yeah ik, heard its a good mb
it's not much difference from ELITE, i think PRO has a better sound card
and AC means has wifi
it's a good choice anyways
second question?
OK first build, trying to get my cables all attached and I ran into a problem with the 12v CPU power. I have a maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi, the on board connection is Topset: Round, Square, Square, Round - Bottomset: Square, Round, Round, Square. But that cable didn't come with my seasonic power supply.
a picture would have been infinite times more helpful
you talking to me?
ok here is the list, but can you try to like rank them? like say 1 2 3 4 5
but here is the list
Corsair Carbide Series Spec Omega
Cooler Master MasterCase H500
Cooler Master MasterBox TD500
Corsair ICUE 220T AIRFLOW
Corsair ICUE 465X RGB
in terms of airflow and stuff
choose which one you think looks better between H500 and 220T
don't even look at the other ones
both of those are fine cases so just choose by looks or price
seriously
ok and you tried plugging in the 8-pin cpu power into the rightmost 8?
cause that's where they should be
ok i guess ill get the 220T for myself, and for my brother ill get H500, but the problem is that the 220T comes with 3 SP120 Fans, but the 465X comes with 3 ll120 fans
np glad you were able to finally find some good cases this time
yeah, im sorry for bothering you tho, because your busy and stuff, its just im buying the pc either tomorrow or Saturday, so i gotta get ready you know?
i'm just doing homework
still, thats some important stuff
None of the cables that came with my psu fit. They say rg34 on the side. It's the shapes that don't match, and when I look online to buy some none of them really mention those shapes
what psu do you have
Island I'm new at this so I don't really understand the difference. It's a seasonic focus px-850
Yep. I have a few that look like that but the shapes don't match up to my motherboard. It's OK man, I know you're busy. I'll just post in the ROG forums tomorrow.
make sure the side you're plugging into the board says CPU on it
sips im really sorry for annoying you but the psu i showed you, the one im getting Bitfenix whisper m should i get the 850w or 750w?
5900x
price difference is 150, and 135
yeah i'd get the 850w
alright
yeah its a good price where i am
but you'd be running at a better point in the efficiency curve
so you'll save money on electricity bill over time
and also more headroom for future upgrades or whatever
only $15 is not a big deal
nah thats fine, dont worry about that electricity bill, what matters that im getting the better one, and plus if i needed to upgrade something, id still have enough watts
well the point is
it might end up saving you more than $15 over its lifespan anyways lol
if electricity is more expensive in egypt it could be more than $15
lol
ay honestly, like its alright tbh, i wont pay alot
I'll trade you
isnt the Z73 for sale anywhere rn?
how much
Like 300+
oof
Yea i'll trade you lol
Ik rip
Sooo trade?
cooler
No I need this one
o
I have a plan with it
eh I wanna keep mine tbh
lol
ah
I need yours for the display
lmao
I have a plan for the display for both my card and the pump
cocks gun
I ain't asking no more lmao
ew role playing
Ill put some money on top
maybe someone else might
trading coolers like pokemon
lol
Pretty much
Doubt it
But ik you will lmao
That cooler will complete my build
What happened to like a good neighbor state farm is there
I actually have state farm too lmao
how about
instead of getting aio with water block screen
prop up one of those mini monitors on top of your gpu
😄
That's where his cooler comes to play
run some GT 710s so you can have enough HDMI outputs
nothing some strong tape can't fix
Bruh lol
you know the annoying thing about that 220t case, is that, im buying them ll120 fans because of how cool they look and stuff, and at the end, that front panel will cover it up
well
are you looking at your pc from the front or the side?
idk about you but i look at mine from the side
could care less about the front
i don't see it

3200mhz CL16. Or 3600mhz CL18 ???
i mean yeah, but your case looks amazing from the front imo
idk my actual view is more interesting than that
@harsh tartan 3600C16 > 3600C18 > 3200C16
hey so i have some problems with my friends PC
first the fans won't spin at the under the GPU, it won't show any display when connected, and when turned on the orange boot light stays at DRAM, and ram lights aren't turning on
anyone know what's wrong?
this is a new PC as well
btw\
i guess side panel is more interesting
but what if i do get the 220t and remove the font panel, would it make airflow better or worse?
What cpu is in that build tho?
I got the same case as you but black lol
true true
got a 3600X for now, waiting to upgrade it
yes
and its bad correct?
even with how much money i threw at decorations i couldn't compromise airflow
i got tons of airflow
i wish they were selling lian li o11d tho, that case looks good and has good airflow
are there any online pc part retailers in egypt?
nope
sad
yeah...
i only buy parts online
i told my dad about getting the lian li case online, but he said we would pay alot in customs
which is true
@earnest olive can you tell you what im planning to upgrade for my bro, and you tell me if it works out or not? thing is i dont remember the parts i chose 3 years ago.. so yeah
the only worries i have are the psu and the case
@latent storm you could get a Durgod Venus white for 110$ good build quality and aluminum case thingy
I got a black one wit gateron yellows treated me good
i see it for 130 rn
i actually am thinking about getting a glorious gmmk white ice instead im not sure
But maybe the white one is more expensive
oh yeah probably
I mean you could get a white and switch the key caps
A black **
But the bottom part’s be black
Nvm
@icy thunder and your question is?
Okay, ive been looking at the manuels and it hasn't cleared anything up
Thank you tho
@icy thunder in case you dont know, the 4pin is not something you need to plug in
only the 8pin
Yeah
Isn't the 4 pin for like ultra over clocking or something
How's she looking?
Also I'm getting another front fan
correct
Well I dont got a bunch of rgb so visuals aren't too important
But I do want it to look alright
pull the EPS cable from the back so the curve is a bit tighter on the cable
same for the ATX 24pin
and tug in your fan cable at the back :)
Thank you good sir
you are very welcome :)
you are the one doing the work :)
i am just shoveling breakfast into my face :)
Is it better to get 2 1tb nvme ssds or 1 2tb or the same
if you have a actual need for handling projects that are bigger than what fits on a 1tb drive, then a 2tb is the obvious solution
but if you are just talking for games?
its a question of convenience and cost
Just games and stuff
Cause I see deals for 2 1tbs and the sometimes a 2tb on sale so I was just wondering if one was better than the other
Yea I was gunna check da list
But tmr I not rushing anything. I still have space on my ssd rn
Just looking to see if there’s any deals I should take
Got an 1TB MX500 for $95 the other day on BB
SATA but...I didnt need NVMe for that use case
:))))))))
Can someone help me I’ve been trying to trouble shoot how to set up my new pc and now my mouse and keyboard no longer work on the bios
have you tried doing the simplest thing?
rebooting/ using different ports for usbs and unplugging and plugging back in?
I tried that and I notice whenever I unplug them and it lug them in I have to restart the pc for them the mouse or keyboard to light up
weird but even when they light up they dont work in bios?
Yeah
strange
im not sure what else to do for that... maybe someone else who has more knowledge can help you
They used to work perfectly fine but when I tried to download an OS after my 4th attempt they just stopped
reset cmos button?
Is it an actual button or something on the motherboard?
B550M pro4
Asrock
Is there a place that I can just take the pc to get fixed lol I can’t deal with it anymore I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
probably but hold on im looking at ur mobo rn
Okay thank you 🙏
what power supply is best for ryzen 7 5800x and rtx 3080
it doesnt look like it has a button for it
so in your case to clear the bios you would want to remove the battery from the motherboard
its the circle battery in the middle but
you will want to power the pc down
and unplug
That lithium battery?
RM850X works really well and its what I have and it keeps up with the 3080
Can I put it back in later?
ok thank you
then take it out
np
then wait a min
then put back in
then plug back in
then try to use bios again
Okay I just took out the battery
ah ok did u unplug ur pc?
just making sure
sorry if im not extremely clear lol its 6 am and havent slept yet
I did lol and it’s fine
Like the plug right now the connections from the battery to the motherboard right?
fyi if you had any OC or anything its gonna need to put again
is it crap or no
also you will want to enable xmp mode @quick fable
garbage price
THANK YOU
you can find those for around $100 usd or less on used market
But I still don’t know how to download the Os
is it working?
Yeah
Can you use an external hard drive to download an os?
ik
the economy is trash
Or do I have to go and buy atlas’s drive
yeah use a usb thumb drive
yea 32gb is fine
and it is always activated
I have a USB 3.2 drive and its super fast
installed my windows 10 in like 2 mins lmao
mine is 2.0 a cruzer balde
Okay I’ll try again during the weekend lol I’ve been trying to trouble shoot for so long I didn’t even do my hw yet
f
f indeed
well im glad u can atleast play around in the bios now
wonder what went wrong before
np
not really a building question but if i use a credit card to open my nitro 5 chassi will it damage the card
I'd use something more disposable
can someone help me? what build should i get for editing on adobe premiere pro and for gaming?
Budget?

EVOO Gaming Laptop 15" FHD 144Hz Display, THX Spatial Audio, Tuned by THX Display, 9th Gen Intel i7-9750H, Nvidia GTX 1650, 256GB SSD, 16GB Memory, Windows 10 Home, Black
or
Gateway Creator Series 15.6" FHD Performance Notebook, Intel i5-10300H, NVIDIA 2060 RTX, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Xbox Game Pass for PC, HD Webcam, Cortana, Windows 10 Home, Google Classroom Compatible
both are 800 dollars
i think the first one is better but idk im not that good at this
what is the best gpu rn below 500 not on of nvidea's 30's series
neither are good
the gateway kicks the evoo's ass though if you can only get one or the other
Sorry i cant get a pc i need a laptop i travel
@idle compass https://www.pugetsystems.com/all_articles.php
have a look at those articles to get you started
love puget tbh
their articles cover a section that few others cover
Is the ltt giveaway still going?
please dont put your question in every single channel jfc
r u gaming?
not a high graphic gaming
but do you want to game
ahh- I would've said get the m1 macbook air if you didn't want to play games...
it's THE BEST travelling laptop besides the macbook pro
Thats alot of money though.
I would get some laptop with like a mx or 1050/1650
Yo so is a
Ryzen 5 3600 3.6ghz
Radeon rx 5600xt
Msi b450m
16gb ram
A good pc
For 850$
it's 900$ @blissful gorge
send the pcpp list
ok. drop a ping when u can
ok
@blissful gorge seriously though- if you can sacrifice windows 10 for macOS (which is better believe me) the m1 macbooks are THE BEST. laptops. for travelling. if you don't need a heavy graphics engine.
ok tyy
would a msi b450 mortar max bottleneck a msi gaming trio rtx 3070 and a ryzen 7 3800x?
since the b450 only has pcie3 instead of pcie4 but i was wondering if there are any other setbacks to the motherboard?
from wat i know gpus dont gain or lose performace from pcie 4 vs 3
yeah but pcie4 allows for more bandwidth
“GPUs don’t gain or lose performance from pcie 4 vs 3
So what would the extra bandwidth do if not “more performance”
true true
i think u should still get b550 atleast tho
i already have a b450
ah
cant really change it now
i mean it's a pretty budget motherboard and it works so im fine with it
i cant use up it's full potential though because it's limited by my pcie3 bandwith
which is kind of disappointing but what can you do, y'know
if u worried about not using its full potential then just get a b550
i dont feel like replacing my already existing motherboard
its not as easy as just un-existing the old motherboard and make the new one exist in it's place
if i remember correctly the 3070 was showcased in a intel build, and intel motherboards only have pcie 3.0 rn
yeah u may get a little increase in performance (which contradicts wat i said earlier) but in the middle of a game u wont be like "dang i really wish i had pcie 4.0 rn" yk lmao
and yeah ur right it is hard to replace a motherboard
cuz u have to get a new windows key and such
no?
you just have to convert your windows key to your account
and your good
but other than that yeah
wdym convert to ur account
you can activate windows by doing some stuff in command prompt
you don't even have to pay for it
it's epic
i can just send you it if u want
please do
its probably not a good idea to """pirate""" windows even though it is an internal operation, if you would call it that
I've done it for like multiple PC's and nothing bad has happened
just smooth sailing
just buy the regular home edition
or you could probably get a license on sale somewhere
@verbal quarry @quick cosmos
check dms
i can screenshare too if u want in general 1
your good
my budget 1.2k usd
Gskill trident z rgb or trident z neo?
Basically the same thing
Yea its the same thing
If they’re the same price, or neo is like $2 more get it I guess
Both look the same just the neo has a bit of white on it
Hey everyone, I need some assistance with a PC case. I have found the cougar conquer 2 to be sleek and modular with sizing for the rads i need, but it doesnt seem to accommodate E-ATX form factor. Does anyone know a good alternative. Im hoping to find a similar alternative that can fit an E-ATX
Not really white, but like metallic silver
the great thing about this case is that so many pieces can be removed (i plan on priming and hydro-dipping)
id like something similar but with E-ATX compatibility
@steep nimbus unless the 3600xt is the same price, or like $15 more than the 3600 don’t get it
should i ask my case question in a different chat?
Maybe #cases-psu-and-cooling
https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/DnCGnL
what would you give this build out of 10?
id get a better case
whicj one?
hey guys, i bought a Ryzen 7 5800x and im looking to build my first pc soon, anyone able to recommend any motherboards that i wont have to do a BIOS update on?
don't really want to be spending anything over £200/$265
have you tried looking at any B550 motherboards?
The b550 board is very similar as the x570
the aorus lineup look pretty nice, you should look into those @icy wave
One of the only differences is the it has less m.2 slots and they are older
Would i have to do a BIOS update and if so how do i go about that if i dont have a cpu to update it with?
not exactly
@balmy patio ill deffo have a look at those
you can use the bios flashback option and flash the bios from a usb stick with the bios version
Opinions on this? My friend is upgrading, 650W PSU, 16gb DDR4 and case are being reused
yeah I chose that purely out of my preference of Noctua coolers. It ain't a CPU cooler if it iisn't a brown noctua
are there even any 3070's left in stock in your area?
what about 5000x's
Same thing
ah ok
Hi guys, I'm new to this server (and servers in general). Im looking to upgrade my pc, but idk what part to start with. I mainly use for gaming things like Overwatch and Minecraft. The Parts that I have are below.
Wait i ment to tab and not send that yet
smh
Let me get the specs
a 2k 165hz or 1080p 240-280hz monitor with a 3070?
Should I buy this? I need a new mobo and on a budget
eck
why not a B550m pro-vdh
for like 3$ more
@quick shore
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089W26FCB
I’ve had bad experiences with asrock in the past so I’m skeptical with asrock products
should I just spend a bit more and get a b550 instead
It is still a b550 board
idk I’m very skeptical with asrock products
also
I’ve had this tube of thermal paste chilling in my room for 2+years is it still good
any b550 over a520
to like use
Thermal paste doesn't really go bad other than drying up, if it's a dry mess, don't use it, if it looks fine, should be fine.
noted
CPU:Intel Core i7-6700, GPU:Geforce GTX1050, Ram:32 GB (don't know if I need more specifications), Monitor: Dell P22124H. Those are the specs, and I usually get around 57-59 frames in Overwatch. I haven't tried overclocking bc idk exactly what that is, and I don't know if my pc is compatable.
What do you think I just upgrade First?
a 2k 165hz or 1080p 240-280hz monitor with a 3070?
How do I see that. (Like I'm rly new)
i got my B450 mobo for $122 how.
@plain rain it’s determined based on ur cpu like gen and motherboard
Idk ram from the top of my head it terms of gen but I was just curious
I would upgrade the gpu for sure tho
Hey guys I need help choosing a mobo with bios flashback and that supports pcie 4
@icy zodiac personally i'd recommend an aorus elite
about $20 cheaper
and just as good
I need help #
what socket
yes.
kk
I’d not know much
do you want it with wifi?
K
What about X570
x570 and b550 are basically the same
but x570 is usually more expensive
bc its newer
How good is Meg ace and Asus rig strix
those are also good
well meg ace is way more expensive for one
@quick shore What GPU should I upgrade to, bc I've been looking for a while, and idk what would be the best for overall performance increase. (Plus my monitor is a 60hz display, so idk if that matters)
But which one is better
?
I meant u
send us your full pc
CPU:Intel Core i7-6700, GPU:Geforce GTX1050, Ram:32 GB (don't know if I need more specifications), Monitor: Dell P22124H. Those are the specs, and I usually get around 57-59 frames in Overwatch. I haven't tried overclocking bc idk exactly what that is, and I don't know if my pc is compatable.
what other components than that
depends on what cooler you have for overclocking
*cpu cooler
and of course some other things but the cpu cooler is one of the most important necessities for overclocking
I know the system can get overheated if the cooler isn't good, but idk if my GPU can be overclocking
I don't think it is but i don't really know
sorry i meant idk if the gpu is compatible
yummy
what beautiful looking fans
They have the ugliest fans with the best performance
Chromax
That’s what the black ones are called
Can just like, take them apart and hydro dip them or vinyl them or smth
Do any of u guys know if you can top mount a 280mm aio cooler on a lian li lancool II mesh?
can someone revise this list i made for a friend? his budget is $850: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xpg2bh
oh wait
nvm i forgot to add the psu
yes you can front mount a 280mm aio @lusty gazelle
Just don't get Vengeance rgb ram just in case
are my temps good? i played cyberpunk for like 30 mins on high preset and my max temp on cpu (5600x) was 73.8C and gpu (3070) was 70C
is 280$ a good deal for a 1070 ti
eh not really
yeah no
this is just a budget build for 300 dollars to play esports titles but i want some advice
Is that build for you or?
for me
Also can't find much info about that psu and seems very cheap so...i wouldn't trust it.
and i have exactly 300 give or take 10 dollars
and better suggestions
i mean i was thinking of moving up but i wanted one that was 80+ bronze
Yeah but awlays be cautious with cheap psus tho
unless there are exclusives on pc that you are playing, I think you'd get way better performance with a $300 console
sure pcmr but at $300?
no it is for valorant
oh ok
pcmr is stupid
and the plan is in a couple of months to throw in a 1660s
but my other idea was to get a dell prebuilt
it would be the same specs but i couldnt upgrade it
Can you like...save up?
nope because my parents wont let me save christmas stuff
Oof
the whole reason i am doing this is because i dont trust alot of used hardware
Used hardware is pretty good if you are on a budget
i know
Not so much on psus...used psus might not be worth
well i know that and i also know that used cases are bad
but there is to much that can go wrong in my opinion
like a bent pin in a socket
yeah there is that two
i mean i was also looking at something like just getting parts of the system and i found a 300 dollar 8700k and z370 tachi combo and i was tempted
because despite the common opinion, the 8700k is still a good cpu for what i do
8700k is a very good gaming cpu tho
@plucky oar if you have 12 bucks to spare, and planning on buying new, here's a list i made https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mpFzF8
If you can survive whiout a pc for now and plan to game alot on your pc, i would say go for that 8700k & z390
That combo is a really great deal
or you can slap a 1650 on this https://rb.gy/yis5lg
Sff? Oof.
😳
I want to make a build that is under 1k and has these things:
-Ryzen 3600 or another CPU with similar functions
-RTX 2060 GPU
-16GB RAM that are at least 3200 mHz
can you guys help?
Cheaper mobos available
wouldnt he want more that 512 gb especially if he has a 1k budget
He could get a hdd
yea 1tb hdd
well he can
But that is up to him.
500gb ssd/m.2
but i guess that would be tight
@little osprey what are you going to do on ur pc
Sorta, you could still fit in like...3-4 GTA V
playing the next overwatch, some photo editing possibly
it also depends how much he allocates to windows or the os he's gonna use
nope it is sff
@plucky oar btw, the 8700k+mobo is used or new?
used
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QwFzF8 there's this, or you can get a 1tb nvme drive instead of the 500gb nvme + 2tb 7200rpm combo
but i am thinking of just asking if i can see it working
Yeah, ask him.if he did OC it aswell
yep
good point
Otherwise, that mobo & 8700k is a good deal though.
@little osprey r u gonna overclock anything
yes
i mean in his description he just said that he was going ryzen but i would think that he did do ocing otherwise he would just have an 8700
Probally
But better to ask him and check if the hardware is not defective aswell
i mean it looks good overall
the stock cooler is good enough for the 3600
and if he needs mass storage he could go with a 4tb 5400rpm drive instead of the 2tb 7200rpm
and keep the 500gb nvme drive to boot and to keep stuff that needs to be accessed quickly
true
we will see how set he is on amd
lemme see if i can make an intel list at the same price
Also intel is gonna release the 11th gen uh...next year?
i have a question why does it matter when a cpu does better in a render when you should be using a gpu encoder anyways
Memory. I’ll put it to its actual speed. Some memory sticks come not on the actual speed their sold for
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cnJYQD - amd, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TPDBht - intel (he could get rid of the cooler but ion like the stock cooler)
that's why you enable the xmp profile from bios
10400 is cheaper
Oh nvm, the price went up on 10400
it's still cheaper
Ye
and i could fit a 4tb drive in there if he needs more storage
lets hope he comes back
he'll come back
10400 was like
158-159$ yesterday
is ur budget 1300
🤔
Just trying to make it lower
what is that
okok
the ram profile manufacturers set so that the ram can run at advertised speeds
XMP is getting your RAM to run at it's advertised speed
okay
@blazing steppe https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nyz2bh
not sure
you can also stick with your original pcpp and just get a air cooler instead of an aio
I already have a SSD prepared
@little osprey
2060 ew
do i need 500 for OS only?
ok
no but 500 on ssd is good for games/ect
2060 is still good
Just overpriced rn
Also ye
3060 ti is better if you can get it
the market to buy sucks rn
im just looking for a build
not gonna buy rn the market sucks for parts
Dell
the samsung.
only for price tho
if ur a competitive gamer u should do 1080p 360hz if ur aiming at a monitor over 700$
ok
which one should i get
r u a competitive gamer?
i just wanna know which one is better
well i am competitive on hypixel
which one better]
144hz and 240hz is a 2% difference most people can't notice... u can just get a 1440p144hz monitor, and if ur really a competitive gamer, buy a 1080p 240hz monitor.
haha
wont matter on an MC server
i am pretty competive
what guild tho
um
and what game?
java edition
anyways they both suck for the price if ur playing minecraft
i just play bedwars and skywars
get a 1080p 240hz monitor
if ur playing mc get a 1080p
how many bedwars stars?
idk like 60 or something
he wants to play bedwars and stuff and hes asking for help choosing a monitor
lets stick to that
ok
just get 1080p
neither are worth it imo, both are a waste of money tbf.
how is dell better
look at the specs urself and compare it
is it ok for me to ask anyone to help with some pc spec maybe??/
guess no help for zevxl man
Just send your message here, someone will asnwer eventually.
yeah ngl, sometimes it takes time but just ask it
ok
so um
i was thinking of ike a Intel i9-9900KF with 32 GB of RAM a 3080 and im not sure about the power supply maybe like 850 watt 80+Gold
any thoughts
what's your budget
hyperx pulsefire haste or glorious model o-
?
750w is recommended psu size fo rthe 3080
so, yes, a 850w is plenty fine
@deft harbor keyboard/mouse questions are best asked in #peripherals-and-displays
ok
naed could i send you the parts list and can you tell me what you think of it?
just post it here (if its a pcpp link that is) :)
you dont have a SSD
huh i thought i put one lmao
mp34 or sn750 should do the trick for you
ok thanks
Hey
yeah wassup
What's a good 600$ build
if its intended for gaming? second hand
Gaming
im not the best with computers but what are you using it for
because new part prices are not favourable for that low a budget at the moment
amen
@woeful herald the rest of the list is "okay". I am guessing that you are building it for how it "looks" instead of for performance?
So...
but im more leaning on performance
Anyhelp
your answer was above @odd crypt
@woeful herald if i look at your list with a "performance as the primary focus" eye. then you are spending about 250 usd on things that are not needed
Nope
@foggy hazel do you know when SAM will arrive for intel
thats why i asked for help because im not that great with computers
@little osprey you mean BAR support?
Yeah
its out on some boards already iirc
On which because i have a z490 unify
look on the manufacturers site for your board, check the bios updates
@woeful herald before i dig into your list. When are you hoping/planning to actually build it?
next year or so
I have a 354W system, and I bought a corsair cx 450W psu. am I good to go or should I be worried about the wattage
not too soon but not too late
@blazing aurora should be fine
fine unless its a really bad psu
@little leaf the CX is a okay model :)
@little leaf same
@woeful herald i know this might sound like i am being lazy, but come back about 1-2 weeks before you are ready to buy
and hopefully at that time stock has settled in some more
and prices are not as bonkers as they are now
:)
lol
yeah but as i am still pretty young it was going to be like a birthday gift or something like that
your name is very fitting right now @little leaf :)
@woeful herald none of that changes what i said above :)
nom
the more you can wait right now, the saner the prices will be
because stock will NOT be worse in a couple of weeks
yeah ik but i just wanted to know like how everything looked and what you would recommend to save money and still have on par performance
basically, strip the "fancy for the sake of looking fancy" case, that will save you a good 50-70 usd
strip the AIO, go air cooler = save another 50-70
strip the fancy for the sake of fancy ram = save another 50 usd
but again, as mentioned, its better to fix your list when you are closer to actually buying
you realize your list is 2.2k after tax
after tax its like 2.4k
lol you have a 3070 in a 2.4k system
I have a 3070 in a 1.1k system
what should i fix
Hello, does anyone know what these plastic sleeves are that encase the hard drives so they can be slid in and out of the G-Raid called?
I guess the follow up question would be where to but them?
I would go amd
that would be a drive caddy @rigid sandal
or drive sled
its varies from manufacturer to manufacturer
they call them drive trays here
@foggy hazel, greatthank you!
yo @foggy hazel is it better to put a m.2 next to cpu, except that socket doesnt have a heatsink, or better to put it on lower end of board, with the m.2 socket having a heatsink?
next to cpu is generally the higher pci-e version
(ofc, depends on platform etc)
and the heatsink part is generally very very overrated :)
lol yeah
both of the pci-e port on my board are the same version, so i went for farther away but under heatsink
yeah
ofc, depending on board, the second slot might disable sata ports etc
i heard closer to cpu is better bc of less distance one time
again, yes, you can probably measure it in a benchmark
but does it actually matter? no
and yeah i hardly use sata ports
Yo, anybody knows if it is required to get a pump for an aio cooling system
I see in some people don’t install tubes and pump for an aio liquid cooling and they only install the radiator
So please if anyone knows hit me up
an aio has everything in it
@cobalt tiger its an all-in-one
pump is either on cpu block or radiator
So getting pump is optional?
no
its in the aio
Wait so u mean some radiators require pump and some don’t
an aio has the pump installed onto it already
aio is a closed loop
Am confused rn lol, cuz like if it’s an aio why do some people get tubes and pump installed in there system?
thats custom liquid cooling
those are not aios
but they still use radiators
and pumps
this is an aio
it has the pump and everything in it
Can u show me a pic of like a radiator that needs a pump
Please
I want to learn about those stuff
well this is a reservoir and it has the pump in it
and a radiator used for water cooling
i dont know much about water cooling myself tbh
so if you plan on going custom water cooling. please find someone that specializes in it because a lot can go wrong if you dont do it right
well only one major thing would be leaks
