So my only. And I mean only red flag comes down to your CPU and MOBO choice. 4C/8T is becoming outdated quickly and as a result - for the extra 50 bucks - move up to a 6C/12T Ryzen 5 3600. As for MOBO. Switch to a B550 Tomahawk for around 10 bucks cheaper. Higher RAM speeds and better VRAMs. The case like we discussed will do it’s job. @glacial umbra

Depends. Some B450 boards may or may not support newer CPU’s. Then it comes down to PCI 4 support that it clearly lacks over the B550. But B550 - the newer ones - natively support 5000 series GPUs.

And that list is overall nice. You’ll probably want a more mass storage HDD for bulk items. That way your NVMe drive doesn’t become overcrowded with stuff like files or massive MP4 files.

Honestly, most B550 boards - especially the one you’re using - have a bios update on board. So if you buy it used for example and need to update bios, you just flash it. Without needing a CPU/GPU/RAM installed.

My case has three rgb fans at the front but they don't light up. They spin all right but no RGB.

I have the daisy chain of connectors attached to an RGB header but don't have the RGB controller plugged in as that's apparently only for display purposes without a motherboard.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
For clarity I have a Asus B550-F mobo.
Do I have to do something in the BIOS?

The original processor has way more cores than you’d need. 8 cores looks to be the sweet spot in the future as that is what the consoles are using now.
