The big question for each brand is going to be, if I upgrade to 4000 series BIOS on my B450, what support am I losing at the same time.
aye, not IF. but WHAT.
Im planning on getting an x570 to support the 4xxx with a 3080 on pcie gen 4 and have better ram support under that CPU
Yeah, you'll be golden with that setup.
Feel like so much technology enhanced with such little time. I just built my PC beginning of 2019 and now the new parts are twice as good as what i got
I technically took a step back with my current system. I was on an R5 2600, and went to a first gen Threadripper. But I had a use case for it and the prices have dropped so much that it was trivial to switch over.
Maybe once Zen 3 comes out and 4th gen threadripper as well, I'll pick up something like a 2950x if the prices drop again.
yes, that might be the case, but those parts did not give you the (hopefully) fun times you have had since you built your machine @frail shuttle
And then ride that as long as I can before I switch off X399
well now im interested in how much of a performance difference was the threadripper from the 2600 as far as gaming goes?
Not much, it clocks higher, but games don't take advantage of the full 12 cores for the most part.
I'm doing a lot of virtualization on the machine now though, so having the 12c/24t and 32GB RAM has worked very well forme.
The bit of gaming I do on it has improved more from the 5600XT I bought, which I was planning on doing even if I had stayed on the 2600.
All i mainly do is game on triple monitors, and now programs that my electrical engineering degree uses such as intel quantum.
what’s the difference between the r7 2700x and the r5 3600

good afternoon everyone quick question dose any one use the ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming wanted to know if its a good mobo to get?
Would a 1660s and a Ryzen 7 3700x with a Asus rog strix B550 with 16gb of ram be a good streaming and gaming setup
Up the GPU
what you recommend i up the GPU to
um i have 710 dollars and im willing to go to about 850
Yea okay use pcpartpicker
Is a intel i9 10gen and rtx 3080 a good combination
on pc part picker it says that the MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card
or should i still look for another one
@forest sky use pcpartpicker :p
Got it coming in this week!
Build pics will come soon
@ those talking about Warzone performance. I have a 9900k on a 2080ti and on 1440p I get anywhere from like 60-120ish fps with high settings and AA on. I thought Id be getting better performance than that which is a little disappointing but it could also be bad optimization within the game. In the new Avengers game I get anywhere from 60-100ish fps on high settings as well which I dont like. I thought with my setup on 1440p Id be getting higher fps than I am which is making me consider getting a 3080
Uhhh
That is an interesting PSU
@little osprey wonder if you have RTX on
That could decrease fps by quite a lot
Ray tracing? No its off
I was sad with my like 80fps in warzone at 1080p on high with a 2070, then I turned off rtx :p
I wish my lower performance was because of RTX but it isnt sadly
Not that 80--120ish fps is bad performance, I just thought Id be getting higher
Weird
I would think so too
Oh I wonder, there was also. The render resolution that messed me up in warzone, did you check to make sure it was rendering at 1440p
Yes
Because dragging the slider all the way right does 4k
1440p and 1080p are somewhere in the middle
Yeah no, I dont have it set that high. Its set at 100% which is rendering at 1440
I looked up a random benchmark because I was curious, you should be getting around 140fps it seems

Recorded with my dedicated RECORDING/STREAMING PC via Capture Card.
This video...
Yeah im definitely not getting that kind of FPS in my Warzone
maybe it's time to do some troubleshooting with random stuff?
I dont even know where to start. I just did a fresh install of windows and all my drivers within the last couple weeks so everythings pretty fesh
fresh*
could also try OCing CPU to 5ghz but that's always a risk
I believe mines running around 4.6 when playing
Doesn't really matter too much, just take a quick look around settings, maybe compare it against that guy who did the benchmark first
Might as well try to look around a bit more and see if there is some software issue maybe that's causing you pain
Any idea what software that hes using in this video thats on the left side of the screen? Thats pretty n ice
nice*
I use afterburner myself
I made a random benchmark once lemme find it to show you how it can look with afterburner
oh wait I guess I never enabled cpu usage and all that good stuff
only fps
whatever
1 thing I find odd is when I reboot my system and MSI Afterburner loads up, sometimes itll have my onboard video card instead of my 2080ti. So I close afterburner and relaunch it and fixes it but does afterburner do that to others at all?
Oh wait something easy you can check
power settings
the battery saver vs best performance
Within Windows? Mines on Performance
and I doubt warzone is running off your iGPU if you get 80fps on 1440p xD
that's just msi afterburner being wacky for you I guess
Of course it isnt, I just find it weird that afterburner sometimes reads my onboard card instead of my 2080ti
but anyways in MSI afterburner, in settings, there's a OSD section
for on screen display
I might have a picture of it somewhere
found one
hmm that "show in On-screen Display" isn't on my Afterburner... odd
Oh right you need to download RTSS first
Riva tuner statistics server
I can prob find a guide to setting up afterburner
A fair few people have asked me how to setup MSI Afterburner On Screen Display (OSD). I checked this subforum and to my surprise there was no guide on how to do it. So I figured Id make a guide for everybody out there struggling. 1. Downloading and Installing You will need to ...
Working on this now, thank you Mr1111
You're welcome
what do u guys think of a 3600 and 2060 being put toghether
So I ran the same exact settings as the guy in that video Mr1111 and I was getting anywhere from 90ish-110ish fps. Not even close to what he is getting. Now, my CPU isn't OC'd to 5ghz sso theres that but could that be whats making such a big difference?
Looks like my CPU is hovering around 4.7ghz when playing
Can that .300 make that big of a difference in fps?
The guy in that video is getting super high fps with the same setup as mine and Im getting 90-120ish where hes getting like 150+
Im planning to get the 3070, if im going to get an 800w PSU does it matter if it's bronze or gold?
yo im looking for a good/cheap type of cpu cooler do you all think this cooler is good enough?
would this be good for streaming and gaming
This is what I think im gonna buy for my pc AMD Ryzen 5 3600x, Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite AX , GeForce RTX 2060 KO Ultra and it comes out to be $707
With 16gb of ram
are there any monitors of similar quality for a similar price?
or any advice on monitors in general
1080p @ 60hz has been around for years and years now, there are so many monitors just like this out in the wild
from businesses to schools
to literally almost every prebuilt pc coming with a 1080p 60hz monitor in the past 5 years
you could get a sceptre 144hz for like $140
Anyone know any OC guides for pushing my 9900k up to 5ghz from 4.7?
@little osprey check the pins in #overclocking
Thank you @foggy hazel
best of luck, try and ask down there, the crazies that roam that channel should be able to help if you are serious about it :)
If anyone here can help me I am currently building my pc but everytime I install windows 10 into my new pc it blue screens within 10 minutes of using it. Could this be faulty wiring? Becuase I even bought 3 new hard drives and it still don’t work
rate my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MgVqx6
nice thanks
@mint gust sounds like a memory problem to me. Try running a memory diagnostic in bios or something
@civic kiln looks good, only a couple of things
- do you already have that 1060 or are you getting it used or smth? Usually they're overpriced on the used market. a 3gb should be like $85 max
- you need fans for that case
even $85 is a little high
Also could check event viewer
I also got the case gifted to me
oh also Ella, for only $10 more you can get a 2tb Barracuda hard drive, so id do that
so yeah, get some case fans, and then do that nice little hard drive upgrade
3-5 case fans is recommended for that case
Here’s my build list if anybody thinks of any improvements let me know. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bosswoman3/saved/
@night iron 2 simple suggestions: change ram to 2*16 and save some money. Go with dual m.2 instead of m.2+2.5
Okay I will do that @foggy hazel
Want to double check this MB & CPU setup, despite what the "New Egg PC builder" saying is compatible. Pretty sure it isn't via MSI website. Just to late to call in and ask and validate. The MSI B550-A PRO is NOT compatibility with an AMD RYZEN 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz correct?
@night iron I also suggest not going with samsung ssds and something like the mp34 or sn750 what. Ever is the cheapest
And is it for gaming of work
High end streaming and video editing @little leaf
I see
@twin jetty that's correct, B550 is not compatible with 2000 series
has a full compatibility matrix
@spiral zealot Thank you for the Sanity check there. I told Newegg support they were wrong and they said Nope lol
Anyone know if a ryzen 5 will be good enough for the 3070 or will I want a ryzen 7?
Ims use my 3700x and 650w for my 3080 :)
Hi everyone
Can someone give me some advice to build a PC for engineering only, not gaming
Thank you very much
My budget for the desktop is 1k
2019
Elaborate
Someone just offered me an Asus rog Strix 1070ti for my gigabyte 570
@peak aspen Autodesk or something else?
Yes Autodesk
the 1k is usd?
Yes Naed
and is that "just" for the case with machine?
Yes just the desktop.
so, no monitors or anything
Yes
give me a moment
Thank you !
@peak aspen can you budge to 1080 usd?
I mean I ou could just buy a used optiplex
If min aceps are 3ghz
Specs
@peak aspen soon to be or new
Or experienced
Kinda said the same thing
Sure I can
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r49kCL then that is a very solid build
BUT
keep the following in mind
I only know how to make a gaming pc smh ill juat watch as a spectator
i would strongly suggest upgrading the case to something that is less "gamery" and more "steel"
Phat bottleneck in anysort of gpu task
and also adding in a proper cooler down the line.
and also @peak aspen keep in mind, this is a "foundation" for a machine
you are simply too low in budget to get some of the really "fun" stuff. BUT you have the foundation in mainboard+cpu+ram+storage+psu for getting a CAD centric GPU later down the line IF you need it
does that make sense @peak aspen ?
Ok it makes sense to me.
Any suggest for the case that you said?
You can go futher the bubget
2sec
3900x may drop in price soon too, considering conference in like 3 weeks or so
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MbrNXv <- @peak aspen that is the updated list (both Case and cpu cooler has been added)
those two changes makes it a very low noise system
Stealth cad
its a workstation, its not supposed to take your attention.
My pc is to big to not notice
now, the next question for you @peak aspen. When are you planning to build/buy it?
raspberry-pi.
Naed can you make me a list for like autocad and that sort of thing? Budget is 1300 just for the pc
basically take the list above and scale it up is my gut feel for it @desert gulch
Hello ppl
I will plan build it this week
Hello
@foggy hazel should my laptop keep randomly turning on after i put it to sleep
@peak aspen okay, then go for it. as it is, its a solid build, and as i said, the foundation is solid.
Guys should I build a bugget pc or get a bike?
@desert gulch i will help you in a moment. just have to finish up with Nam first :)
Ok thanks!
I am good with this list
@midnight matrix thats a question that is best answered in #general-chat
I will wait to see the list for Ryan lol
Oh crap I thought this was general sorry
last piece of info, windows license you can find for a max of 15 usd
@midnight matrix pc outside is In essential
Yeah you can find pro keys for like 3 dollar on ebay
@desert gulch any particular needs for the machine aside from what you said above?
Nope
oki
yeah the build is for me mum
she a civil engineer and is on a hp pavilion from like 2010
that thing has a Igpu and no ssd, which really sucks
Lol
hmmmm
that is a wee bit annoying,
so, here is the problem @desert gulch
a faster gpu wont get you much
what gets you something is more cores
but the next step in cpu brings the total to 1440usd
and yes, obviously you can scale the ssd
but that aint going to "matter"
its "just" storage
and the one GPU that could be an upgrade has an ETA of (best estimate) 28th of september
well, she got monitors right now right?
then no, you wont get anywhere imo on a laptop at that budget
because part of the cost would be going into that
which you technically dont need
yeah
so on an old pc
with windows 10
can you transfer the windows key to a new build
the build i posted for Nam is a solid machine
you can always just try to clone the disk
aye, then you just clone and everything works
ive done that countless times for people over the years :)
ok cool
you will ofc need a usb stick for the cloning software
and for ease of doing the cloning. The target drive should be bigger than the source drive
but that should not be a problem.
does that answer you question(s) @desert gulch ?
Yes thanks
and again, technically you "could" scale some of the parts down to get the faster CPU in the list. BUT
for a system you would be working with daily? i would not recommend it
because as i said to Nam
its a solid foundation
they are oem keys
meaning, technically only good for one set of hardware
in theory
Yeah
So if you bought official license could you just keep using
Yeah dual channel memory is great but if you're gonna do it you should go 2x8GB.
Which is why I was saying one 8GB stick to start and get another once they had more money.
How many uses
Can I get some help, I ran into a problem with my pc that required me to unplug it while it was running and now my hard drive isn’t being recognized, could unplugging it have broken it in a way or corrupted it?
Or inf
Cause I need to know if I need a new one I, my os drive is literally only big enough for the os
Probably corrupted
You may need to do a full drive reformat
@small heron infinity in theory.
@little osprey
All right thank you
Guys i have questions problem with the monitor i purchased 2 months ago from newegg
@little osprey if you dont say more, we cannot answer you :)
i was t yping 1 sec
Guys is there anyone that can help me out with monitor? i purchased this vg278qr monitor..there's an invisible line in the center of my screen right now, everytime if there's letter or image it looks split
like this
won't let me post image
I see image
Sexy motherboard
Yes
199?
BRUH THERES SOME THAT ARE OVER 1K XXXDDD
I saw one for $415
noice
Overpriced
sounds like something i wont be getting for years cuz im a fricken 13 year old with no money XXDD
But I'll have it one-day...maybe
I'm 19 with no money and maybe no home soon so...
@floral flare what gpu you got?
I can’t type now
But yeah I'm trying to build an almost all, hopefully all, Asus custom desktop
I am using my phone
@little osprey might want to get a job :/
Only one game, and CPU died
@midnight flame I have one
do you not make much off of it???
Not really
im sorry bro
🤷♂️
Just got an Asus rog Strix 5500xt so...
@little osprey ask your mom to get some money, build a $2k desktop, you can use for the next 5 years
But also study hard at school
@floral flare 😂😂😂😂
I owe them $4k
if i asked my mom for money she would laugh me out of her house
And can't afford school so.....
🤣
Ok, then
When I was 19, I purchased a $500 laptop, use my financial aid
And use it for 5 years
I'm working 4 hour days at $9/hour
when i was 18 i saved up a years worth of money from work
to build my first deskstop
I am using a inter nuc now
I also have a junker car that needs quite a few repairs
And ready to build my first desktop, budget $2k all my own
...
Custom laptop
Actually...might be a 2070
And what to know what he uses it for?
Soda dungeon 2
for better feeling
That's all
no lag
Soda dungeon 2, no other game
Will it work??
not placed as it is right there @obsidian wolf
I don’t really know how to adjust it :v
it might be the angle of the picture that is messing with me here
but normally the way you put in so-dimm is to put the module in at an angle to the slot
and then flip it down so the clips on the sides "click" into place
Oof laptop RAM. 😒
that looks right
and you "heard" the click this time right?
And also when I take out
It was burning
and you "heard" the click this time right?
@foggy hazel yep
when you say "burning" do you mean actual fire or do you mean it was hot?
Hot
Lol
But it smells like burning
:v
But it was because of the paper stick to the back of it
cross your fingers that you have not short-circuited the ram sticks
try with the sticks, one at a time.
Caps lock it’s lightning off and on :v
But I do not feel the overheating
Yep is hot
Really hot
:v
congrats, you borked something.
Oh I found is the ram is not compatible or something because I just add back the original and the computer turn on
:vvv
This thing is to old :vv
ah, so the thing that is borked is your ability to read the manual :P
Nope is not that, I’m fact is a gift and also I researched that it could go up to 8gb ram that’s was the one I just try to install
But no it did not work
But anyways thx for the help men
you are welcome, hope you can use the ram in something else
just a greedy retailer
what should i pay for a 1080ti msi gaming x
around 300/400
200 if you can get a really good deal
card is an old flagship and still good so it’s not so cheap as everyone wanted it to be
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/D7GZgJ $1500 lol
That mobo is eh
@little osprey should change that around.
If you can afford $14 over budget:
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/jtPwGc
If you can afford $50 over budget: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/rvTGsk
also get RTX 3070 instead of 2070S, same price
What might be some reasons why my pc isn’t booting for the first time?
Are a'll the fans spinning @proven anvil
@proven anvil check the power connectors
@desert gulch no, none of them are going
@proven anvil are you trying to power it on via case button or directly on mb if it has that
Case button

did you check the connection from case button to mb to make sure you did it correctly
Ok will do thanks
cool
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xd9VrV anyone wanna look over it
@cursive wharf u have no clue what im doing
im doing streaming and a bit of gaming
@little osprey even so, both lists are good.
@silver mica personally would go with a 850w or above considering 3080 gonna be pulling 350w on high load and 9900k overclocked will be drawing the watts as well
Hey does anyone know of a great monitor for $400?
@stoic island 1440
see above
@tired turtle just curious, why do you keep your bottom monitor like that?
I’m in another server an someone recommended that for a 1500$ 3070 build
Am I confused or is that whole thing horrible value with an x570 and 3200 speed ram?
Yeap
thats a meh example
Yea it could be better but like
LMAO I didn’t even realize god that’s insane
I would pair this with a 5700xt that I already own. I also own a Corsair rm750, but I'm thinking of selling it because the connectors are impossible to work with for sleeving
@calm crypt that is bad value
@peak shore do you already have things in that list orrr
I don't have any of the things in the list
time to edit
I would likely wait for ryzen 4000
I'd like to change everything in that list other than the NVMe ram and psu
Higher clock speed, more potential oc room
I think the cost difference is only like $30-40
I think cpu is probably just place holder anyway, I would rather look to a $300-350 part from zen 2+ coming up
I thought zen 3 was 5nm
2x1b is cheaper than 1x2tb
And I will use one of those drives as a dedicated work drive for my DAW, plugins, and samples
The other would be for various media and games that I didn't want on my C drive
Tbf i just organized the list by price per GB and went cheap
Any reason for sx8200 specifically? It's a good drive, but you can save a bit by going MP34 with the same specs
The mini itx/ micro case is aesthetics based and pretty specific
I had read that it performs very well for what I intend to use it for, but wasn't nearly as expensive as the samsung drives
Eh, you can leave it in there if it has some high specific speeds for smth
MP34 is a great general cheap drive
You need wifi?
I guess important things for C:\ would be sustained write performance for large directories.
I don't need wifi
I'm not very familiar with all the sustained writes and different random writes and stuff so
alright
you want good sustained writes for wherever youre installing your steam games too lol
I do want a mostly black pcb with an attractive I/O shield for mobo
i just woke up
Yeah steam will be on C:\
My 500gb wd black hopefully ZOOMS
are you planning on getting any secondary storage?
Yea
Most games are gonna be on C:\
ooh theres a list
Ill be getting a couple 1tb sata ssd
Yeah I wanted to stay away from full atx for mobo and case too lol
why's that? I thought you said that was just a looks choice
It is, but that's very important to me
so, i like the 3600 CL16, but we still have no idea what Zen 3s IMC or FCLK is like
but we do know they're on the same press so I doubt it'll be that much better
e die could oc a bit to maybe 3800mhz if needed
i mostly mean architecture wise
Is it likely that 3600 will be relatively slow on zen 3?
Seems strange, but I've never run ram faster than 3200 to this point anyway
i mean, you would think that increasing the clock speed of CCX to CCX communication would be a good thing
Well single ccx ccd with shared cache
and that would be a way for amd to also increase perf
They still are designing it for dual ccd
i would expect AMD to push it a wee bit farther
Cring
it's not gonna be monolithic die kinda mem perf
Both suck butt cheeks
you could have built your own
Mr1111's config should be enough for roblox
like grab that and a SFF 1650
but that core 2 duo has to go
unless it doesn't?
Hm
would have just saved up...
@viral ore wanna take it to #cpus-mobo-and-memory
well, i have schoolwork im supposed to be doing anyway
save up until you have enough
aight
bye
I'm in class lol
but it's too late now
bored asf
lol
i usually am too
bids not good on ebay though
always go over
just in general they aren't good lol
haha if that's your thing
roblox only, right?
oh, oh okay
1650 used is around 140$ it seems
I'm taking about the 200$ build
a 60$ optiplex+140$ 1650
:P
optiplex has the other stuff
:P
Yes
even a good iGPU can get you good roblox lel
bro a gtx1650 can shred roblox
highest settings
On roblox u could run all high dude
:P
So this and think about $400-$450 for a cpu and cooler when ever zen 3 comes out. But I guess I would wait to buy everything at once https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VJGr27
you can put all on high lmao
@peak shore why mATX again?
a 1650 is a decent card
I payed roblox on a two core igpu sixth gen Intel laptop on all high
Because it looks good
I'm gonna laugh at you thinking we're gonna laugh
whoa
... where’s the gpu
Is that just a fan for an old evga gpu?
at that point get a full optiplex
yeah
Yea fr
you made the right choice lmao
Too small
I got a sff and referent it too hard to work on
And that’s not the gpu that’s a fan
oo
cable management is not a concern for the gpu, at least
do u have the box it came in
Make sure u get a gpu tho and not just the fan it’ll be around 130$
put it back in the box with all the packaging stuff
tape the box shut and just go to a post office
ask them how to send it back
okay
should i buy a second fan for the top mount or stick with 2 front and 1 back?
be quiet! pure base 500
@outer heart you already have 2 on front?
yuh
a geforce what
1080
1060
yeah itll run roblox
you dont need a 144hz monitor for roblox though
Roblox with ray tracing
did they really add ray tracing
i thought that was a joke among my roblox friends
zero frame means not much plastic border around the edge
so it takes up less space on desk
it's not frame rate
they usually call it 0 bezel
that just means 1080p
for the price ehm
its solid for the price
Yea go with the other drive but also if it were me I’d get a used 1070 they go from around 150-200 and usually outperform a 1660s but are a little older
whats a good budget atx case?
@grave drum what you tryna do with the pc, just gaming?
I better not read "NZXT..."
My pc wont pick up my internal hdd
What monitor you looking at?
that's a fat rip
um im going to get a sceptre ips 24" 165 hz
If bios isn't, change sata ports
for 180
If only windows doesn't, initialize the drive in disk manager
Wait wait wait you're getting 10850k+3070 for 1080p165hz?
ooh I might get a white TD500 Mesh eventually
Yea me too tbh
It's such a good case for everything
360mm top rad support, 3x argb fans included, 170mm cpu cooler clearance
And looks nice all for 100$
@grave drum have you looked into getting a 1440p144hz monitor? Also, does the 1600$ budget include monitor?
scdkeys stopped selling windows 10 keys
true
I got 2 3$ win10 pro keys from eBay that both worked lel
I'll brb but my suggestion is a 3600+RTX3070 build with a 300$ 1440p144hz monitor
Monitor like this one
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012015
Ok
Sometimes f2
I'm using the b450m ds3h
I'll make that list and build in a bit
So it picks it up but I cant download stuff to it
That means you haven't initialised the drive in windows
So restart and boot into windows
I did
Is a td500 mesh compatible with a x62 on the top
Prob, why not? Is the rad especially thick or something?
Gamer nexus says 120, 240, 360mm
So its picked up in the boot menu but not in windows
Guess I can't get it
Will stick with the h710 bc it fits
No idea why it wouldn't support a 280mm rad...
it can on the front just not the top apparently^^
@weary bluff was actually just testing the layout and I kinda fell in love with it! The bottom monitor is 240hz top 4K so they both have their exact use cases so they are used equally and before I had the 240hz as vertical when I stopped playing games but it was so annoying if I did want to play so the stacked just... worked out way better lol and I actually like it a LOT 😄
Found a forum post someone can't get their x62 on the top bc it hits the motherboard too
Yes
You see where it says unallocated
So the drive is there
Just windows can't access it without formatting it
Ok so what do I do
huh ok
i have mine side by side but i dont have a mount
It should have an option for initialising the drive or formatting the drive
I Did have side by side before but my 4K is 27” and 240hz is 25” so it looks funky I need to replace the 25” with something new at some point make them the same
i like that you have the high res and the high hz monitor
I did it says new simple volume, properties and help
New simple volume then
Yeah I couldn’t get the best of both worlds in one package if that were the case I’d have only one monitor I’m a huge fan on single monitor setups
Use NTFS
But I need one for editing one for gaming 😋
And default unit size or whatever
yeah i see, thats really cool. Mine are 1440p-144hz and a random 1080p
It wants me to type under ntfs
Default
Nice! 1440p gaming i think is going to become the mainstream thing with the 30 series I’ll be looking into them as well
Oh wait where it says drive letter or name?
Just a more pleasant experience
Haven't done it in a while, take a screenshot real quick maybe?
Alr I have a meeting coming up here, Nice chatting with ya 👋
alright cya
This is what I see
Now that's NTFS and default, uncheck quick format
And label the volume whatever you want
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6sw4Rk
can someone please give me a case+cooler combo for this? dont think what i have now will work. if it's AIO i'd like it to be top mounted
It says formatting
It's a 1tb so yeah
i dont have arctic freezer coolers in my store
I have a random question, with nvidia surround on triple monitors, i am having an issue with fullscreen videos not allowing me to select where i want to skip to in the video. Its as if the video is trying to stretch to all 3, the but the software wont allow it to do so, so it is confined too a single monitor. How do i keep the video fullscreen on one monitor with the gui working correctly while nvidia surround is active?
i was going to get a d15 before, but i was worried that the 3080s are going to make it overheat or something. is that true?
if its not a problem with the new cards i would honestly prefer it to any aio
oh dangit and i can't get the td500 mesh either. is there like a second best case rn
We'll get testing tomorrow
So we'll see
I'm 99% sure GN is going to cover it
Have you see how much testing setup they got going right now?
yeah. i'm confident in them lol
ok how about the pure base 500dx. that seems to be the next best case i can find in stock here
pretty good tho. GN likes it
GN says it's decent
Not as good as other cases in the prices range such as td 500 mesh
And P400a
do i have to have the absolute best thermal case or can i get something a couple steps down
Yea it's fine I'm joking around
@stoic island what do you think about this one?
XFX - AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT RAW II PRO 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card
wdym not good
he's gonna change your stuff to amd lol
not necessarily
With this budget you could get a 10600kf
with a d15 and slap a hefty oc
I would take out the 240hz imo
it can easly get 240hz
Yeah
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7xDGsk could i get someones opinion
Lower latency ram
change the ram to 16 gb he is saying it’s will only be like $15 more
oh i see
something like this
my bad
@thorn dirge
why in your opinion would you change the mobo
air cooler not water
wouldnt it be able to easily produce 240hz
get p1
whats p1
so would my build work good now? your are just recommending changes
@little leaf
a ssd
o ok
@thorn dirge your expectations and the reality of the hardware do not align
so i would suggest that you read up on what refresh rate is
and what frame rate is
i kno fps is frames from computer refresh rate is the monitor refreshing images
do you need wifi?
what cpu are you getting?
me? i7 10700k
oh ok
@thorn dirge yes, but are you aware of how they relate to each other? because your question seems to indicate, quite strongly, that you dont.
that motherboard will work with 10th gen intel processors and it supports lga 1200 which is what the 10700k has
@grave drum what are your opinions on this build for the 3070 https://secure.newegg.com/wishlist/pd/14333415
@little leaf i think this is one of those that it might be smarter to just walk away from, unless you want the mental punishment?
I like the list except 3600c16 might not be necessary on Intel.
Am I the only one here who doesn’t have a pc
ye
probably
@wind mason that belongs in #general-chat
what do you suggest I change it too @stoic island
@little leaf
what gpu are you getting @earnest ravine?
Go research the difference between FPS and Refresh rate :p
@earnest ravine yea looks fine
ok thx
what are you suggesting I change my monitor and thats it @stoic island
Research it, it's good information.
Even if you have a 240hz monitor, if your fps is only 60 you'll only be looking at 60 images a second.
Or more accurately, you will see one image four times, then another image four times, until you've seen 60 images.
If you can't feed a monitor as many or more frames per second as the monitor's refresh rate in hz, then you aren't getting the full benefit of having a high refresh rate.
yo quick question. so i want to get one of the new gpu's 3070 or 3080. Would a i7 8700 be great for that and also my mobo doesnt support 4th gen pcie will it run it just fine or will there be a huge bottleneck between either of the parts
re: pcie-4: from what we know right this second. Not a problem.
re: 8700 be great?: Reviews are out tomorrow, ask after that. We simply dont know yet
alright good. cause i was looking for a mobo that supports pcie 4th gen and is intel but they were all super expensive or out of stock. i think it will be good but im just super nervous about it lol
relax and wait until we have had time to read the reviews
no intel cpu/mobo can use pcie 4.0 right now
^
Whats the importance of a motherboard
uhh everything goes on it
^
Thats it
without it nothing works
estimated power that the system can use
could i build a pc that runs fortnite decently for under $600?
yes
definitely
either go nvidia or amd for the gpu but I would recommend amd because less power usage but nvidia for more power
With the RX 500 series
nvidia gpus are more powerful but use a lot more power
but I think that you would either get an rtx 2060 or a gtx 1070 or 60
Bruh
or better depending on how you balance your budget
什么?
Rx 580 vs Nvidia card of similar price
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/Radeon-RX-580-vs-GeForce-GTX-1650-SUPER/3736vs4167
Just look at tdp
@tough carbon could you do everyone a favour and actually read up on the stuff you keep talking about?
okay damn no need for that
我想你不子到你说什么
not the best at info and such
you are giving "wrong" advice in a channel that is intended for helping.
okay okay I do more research
then ask.
if you have been around a while, you should know that any honestly asked question WILL get an answer.
that depends on you being able to ask a question.
