yes
1050 ti isnt good at all for gaming on anything higher than medium graphics
@robust plover
tuff
Ok
@fast dust thank you yam-san
Lol yw my man
All right so... I hate to ask this but what’s the best prebuilt for less than $900?
specs for BLD's starter PC Plus for 1000: Intel Core i5-9400F 6-Core 2.9 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti - MSI VENTUS XS 6G OC, Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z 3200MHz 16GB (2X8 GB), Intel 665p 1.0 TB, NZXT H510 (Black), DEEPCOOL GAMMAX GTE V2 CPU cooler, B365 Motherboard, 500W Bronze PSU
It's got some issues but decent for a prebuilt
What thermal paste should I get?
they have a $900 one but it's 1660Super
no
I use artic
$900 pc w 8gb of ram bruh
or noctua
Artic Silver is good as well
@slender owl look at nzxt bld, they got a 900$ option aparently w 1660s
@stoic island nzxt bld shidy qc
I mean
No real issues with build quality
they have bad customer service
Xmp is minor
Anyone know of any monoblocks for the MSI prestige creation x570?
We are customer service :p
I'm too lazy to look at other prebuilts
Nzxt good nuff
Problems arnt huge
Holy
jesus the link
Big link
So I have 3 thermal paste that you gave me
ouch lol
LOL
Why is the link so big?
K that makes sense
That link shouldn’t be that big but I got 3 that you guys gave me 😂
I have them, good so far. Lots of flow and very little sound.
Okay great! Thank you @jade kestrel
yw!
How decent will games play on this?
8 gb ram? at that price point? 😬
please be careful when sending stuff
to answer your question, it will run fine, 16gb of ram would be nice
Not my info but I appreciate the heads up
I wish I could afford a pc to have better frames because I have the worst frames ever
Intel is delaying their CPUs
hi
Can someone link a usb wifi that is plug and play
Ive seen many come with a disc for installation
Is new egg usually on point with their estimates for shipments
@white osprey Check this out on @Newegg: Asus USB-AC53 Nano AC1200 Dual-band USB Wi-Fi Adapter https://www.newegg.com/asus-usb-ac53-nano-usb-2-0/p/0XM-005U-00042?Item=0XM-005U-00042&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-0XM-005U-00042-_-07272020
It comes with a disc but it should be plug and play on most windows 10 systems
@weak arrow amazon best for gaming
and it still didnt come im salty
nah newegg has some killer deals and more of a variety
shipping is usually fine
ive gotten cases in 3 days before
idk mann
Boy of the fan
hey! could someone possible help me with a pcpart list... budget is 900$. would love it to have rgb XD
@ebon parrot Well lets see
Sam_ can you show me the list?
For me I just used the controllers on the front of the case for the front fans and light strip
and i use a separate controller for my three other fans and light strips
The reason why i had to do that was because my mb didnt have the 5 pin connnector
Reason: Bad word usage
@ebon parrot
ah ok
yeah i dont think i had the 5pin either
good idea though connecting it to the controller
ok so just to clarify my front fans are connected to the front panel controller
and the other three fans inside the case are connected to a seperate controller from the front panel
so they are controlled separately from each other
@ebon parrot Hope that helps man
allrighty appreciate it
will the GIGABYTE B450 AORUS PRO WIFI work well with a amd ryzen 7 3700x
there's probably a locking tab on the pci-e slot, you'll either need to lift it up gently towards the cpu, or push it down towards th eboard itself
i unscrewed the screws on the side
to free the card
what’s that
i’m new to all of this stuff
where do i find that
is it the grey tab thing?
yes, it'll be on the end of the slot that the card is plugged into
opposite the side with the monitor ports
i’m pressing it it’s nots coming out
depending on the type of locking tab they use, there are different ways to unlock it
oh
if it's the kind that pushes towards the board, it will push the card out of the slot at the same time, if it's just the kind that lifts up a little, you'll need to hold it up while you pull the card out
that looks like a lifting tab, hook the edge of it and pull it gently up towards the ram/cpu
what board do you have?
What a good ram? 16gb non rgb
@little osprey which board specifically? i'm not seeing any that match up with the picture you sent
Ripjaw v 3600cl16
that’s all it says
yes
looks like the picture is the ram tabs
it should say on the board above/below the gpu slot
you can see the GPU slot there as well
that's the thing, i don't see an asus a320 board that matches anything on asus' site
but it looks like it's the lifting kind of tab
you can try pressing on it
and pulling the card
oh that might be the kind of tab in the picture then, press down towards the board, use a hard piece of plastic or something for leverage
push down harder :D
the other picture didn't make it look like it stuck out like that
ok
don't use a screwdriver like i did once in my youth
messed up the board underneath when it slipped and gouged into it
it’s not coming out
no matter how hard i pull
idk what’s the problem
same goes to the cpu
try pressing down on the tab without pulling on the card, with that kind of tab, if you do both at the same time, you cancel the forces out
ok
i did
no matter how hard i pull
it’s not coming out
because of the left side
the left side@isn’t loose at all
once the screws have been removed on the left side, the only thing holding it in should be the tab on the slot
i’ve already done that
so, there's a screw that is right above the ones you took out, the big thumb screw, there's another one down near the bottom of the pic
the ones that are facing sideways in the picture
take those out
and then that whole piece of metal that runs along the side of the card will come out
that whole long piece of metal with the little cutouts for screws is the pci lock
so these?
yeah
and then the piece of metal that they are pressed up against should rotate out of the case
ok
depending how that case is set up, that could also be holding the card in place
now try and press on the tab on the gpu slot and see if the card loosens and comes out
thx bro
ok
i have another problem tho
my cpu isn’t coming out
like i keep unscrewing it
@spiral zealot
gently and i mean GENTLY rotate the cooler to break the seal that the thermal paste has probably made
as it heats/cools over and over, it almost glues the cooler to the cpu
so you need to give just a little bit of force sometimes to break it loose
and then once the cooler is off, you can lift the metal arm and pull the cpu itself out
You unscrewed all 4 screws holding the fan down?
they aren’t unscrewing
they aren’t wobbling at all
i’ve been unscrewing for so long
Weird... maybe try screwing them back in then unscrewing it again?
i did it
does anything look off to this cpu anyone?
like some missing pins or something
not as far as i can tell, but the flash on the corner makes it hard to see that part
but it looks ok to me
yeah, maybe some slightly bent pins, but nothing missing
oh, that might be some crud or paste or something
if you can clean out that gunk in the bottom left, it's probably fine
i'd use like a toothpick and some 99% rubbing alcohol or something
but just be careful to not bend any pins or anything
ok
guys i have another problem but it’s a simple fix
for my build in #build-pics I really wish I had gone w/ Ryzen but when I was piecing it together last year a guy at work (who I thought was more knowledgeable than he turned out to be) said it was better than Ryzen for everything even if Intel was a lil more costly
Which one is better this ssd: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/68c48d/tcsunbow-x3-1-tb-25-solid-state-drive-x3-1tb or this one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/513534/crucial-p1-1tb-ssd-3d-qlc-nand-m2-2280-pcie-nvme-30-x4-internal-solid-state-drive
ok guys
i’m having trouble screwing in my new cpu
everytime i screw in a corner it the other side pops out
some one please help
hello please
only screw each corner in a little bit at a time
so start all 4 just a little
and then tighten each one a little more
until they're all in place
ok
it keeps the pressure even across the cpu and makes it so all 4 can catch and screw in
i give up
i’ve tried too many times
it hasn’t worked
anyone know how much it costs to take it to best buy?
@mellow basalt mp34
guys
i booted my pc
and i don’t think the gpu is working
at all
please
someone help
bro please
someone
its probably idle
and i just upgraded the parts
wym
i just upgraded my gpu
wym its not working
and one of my led light aren’t working
are the fans not spinning?
yes
check all connections
by why does it say no signal
on my pc
when i have my mobo
i mean gpu
thats probably not the gpu
then what is it?
idk
what happens when you boot your pc
it’s ok but one led light isn’t working
on*
and it won’t boot
it says no signal found
check to connection to the power supply from the gpu
ok
it could be faulty if its brand new too
thats a possibilty
oh ok
ok
this is a prebuilt
and i opened the back
and i saw this
it has so many unplugged wires
it’s so weird
it won’t send
Yes most computers do have unplugged psu wires ad alot of psu arent modular meaning wires must stay in the case
@little osprey does it not boot or does it not post? Further more when you try to turn it on does it look like everything is receiving power?
If you could post a video of you trying to turn it on
Its an ssd
$130 last time I checked
K if I get the extra money I’ll get the mp34 but out of those 2 which one is better if I don’t get the extra money?
?
guys is a 80mm fan for exhaust enough for a ryzen 5 1600 and rx 580? i will put one more down the line
i mean it will be for exhaust for like 3-4 weeks and then i will put one more 120mm fan for intake
Not like you need a 200mm fan for everything
i know
but yeah many people have one fan for exhaust and it works just fine even with a 2060
I have a 120mm exhaust and 140mm exhaust
Stuff can still get toasty
Ain't my fault
(never heard of it)
Air doesn't like being pulled in 90 degrees turn lol
wdym
That's the whole reason why h510 doesn't get good airflow from the front
Or the H500m
It's the same reason why you wouldn't stick your GPU right up against your side panel lol
You gotta leave some space
Lol
Interesting side panel design
Looks okay
Still never heard of it so looks can be deceiving
Front panel looks okay
i will put one more so yeah
But if it has intake and exhaust maybe
hello all! this is my first time on this discord.
hey
i am looking for some help with building a new computer for my business
well, honestly Ive never attempted to build a pc from the ground up and was looking for some pointers as to where to begin?
okay
hi
i am building this new pc to replace a failing older tower i had built for my office
i am upgrading my pc soon but i want to replace my case first
its TT 37 view now but i want to have black in and white out case.
so LBCPA u start with the cpu and the motherboard
cpu=processor
go to general chat skull lady i cant help you here
thanks
my current pc (the failing one) has 8 cores intel core i7-3770K @ 3.5 Ghz
and 35 gb of ram
okay
thats as far as i know
but the usage is at 85% for both cpu and ram
you probably need a platform upgrade so a new motherboard, cpu, and ram
thanks kid.exe
yeah i was thinking so, but im a complete novice when it comes to building
is this just an office pc or do you do gpu intensive things like gaming and rendering?
just office work, im a cpa and we have to keep a 'server' pc running for the tax software we use
Should i buy a decent mic?
over a headset mic?
do you have a budget for the upgrades?
its a razer kraken so kinda
right now i have an 8 core intel i7 cpu and 32 gigs of ram but current usage is pushing 85%
budget is 2500
purpose of pc?
could be maxed to 3000
@little leaf just office work, im a cpa and we have to keep a 'server' pc running for the tax software we use
give me a sec in class]
would you be reusing case and psu?
probably not this one is kind of trash
its been in service what feels like 10 years
maybe the psu but idk what kind of power requirements im going to need
yes, i think
I"m assuming you don't need much graphical power
not at all but for text
so just some crappy video card for output
i'd probably throw a 1650 or something in it
yup no need for crazy graphics but i need a beefy workhorse
true
heres closer to 2500-3000 (24 cores+128gb ram) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NgsZNq
or cheaper (16 cores+128gb ram) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QzyXDx
i didnt put storage in cause idk about that part
does he need thread ripper?
thats why theres a cheaper one :v idk if 24 cores is overkill
wow thats wonderful
if he is mostly server epyc would be better wouldn't it
you just whipped that together?
doesnt epyc just really have the ram support over threadripper?
mind=blown
yes
ive done a few parts lists haha
I"m pretty sure it has more secruity
@little leaf is epyc that kinda overkill ||idk much about the cpus and mobos||
honestly if his server is very small probably
epyc is ussally for large servers
he could even just use a ryzen 9
yea i'd probably suggest a 3900x or 3950x and that would save like 1k off the budget
How much gb r drivers
It really depends on how big the server is
drivers are usually <1gb they're pretty small
I’m building a pc tomorrow and I want to download driver to my pc instead of getting a WiFi adapter
hey guys ive decided to go with the 24 core build you made for me\
how big is your server?
other than storage what else will i need to hook this all up? will the cables come with the psu?
tbh i am not entirely sure? i know the usage details for the tower it runs on
sorry
What kind of server is this and how large will the deployment be?
this is a small office server to run tax programs off of
but it is extremely underpowered for what we need
the 24 core build might be overkill for a single office
Are these tax programs that intensive?
surprisingly, yes
its been maxing out my 8 core intel i7 and 32 gb ram for a while now, randomly powering down
randomly powering down is power
its called computax
What specific i7 tho? Do you know?
3770K?
its very very old
4c/8t?
thats not 8 core lmao
?
thats 4 core
shows you how much i know
4 core/8 threads
ahhhh
I"m pretty sure you only need a ryzen 9
that explains
I think the thread ripper is over kil
yeah im feeling pretty silly
It happens, don't worry
yes but again its about 10 years old
@little leaf 64 cores or else 😤
even a modern 4c/8t like the 3300x will see a decent improvement because the clock speeds and ipc increases, so i think 12 cores will be fine
About how many people use the program at its intensive state at a time?
ok wait wait
and im pushing 89% usage
So it's always hammering the CPU? Or just after inputting like a spreadsheet or smth and then pressing "compute" or smth
@cursive wharf 128gb be smart?
You said this was your 3770 as well, so is this your personal PC where only you're using it?
no i have my own pc for personal
Okay. So current server PC is the 3770 where when everyone is using it it'll be like 87% or something?
yes that is correct, but only half of my people are connected and its showing 87%
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9rGG9G something like this
you really don't need thread ripper
Okay, so at absolute min would be 3700x. But recommendation would be 3900x or 3950x
heres what i was thinking https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rh9Jcq
Getting close to max ram usage tbh with 64gb
28.16gb with just half the people using it. So 56.32gb with everyone using it
3950x not needed
i am also trying to go above spec for a bit of future proofing
Probs do a 64gb + 16gb if you want to save some money
Cuz 128 is kinda... Out there
3950x isn't needed
yea true
lower end of budget is still 2500
if he has more emploies he needs more ram
What's drive usage like?
yea even a 3950x+128gb is like 1500
so if we end up with ultra overkill, happy to do it
Also network usage? Might be worth doing 10gbe on server to a switch where it does 1gbe to all the other PCs
Idk whether if you need that
i have all cat 6e cabling throughout the office as well
Rn that server PC is only going to get 5e speeds
Cuz the LAN controller is standard
do any x570 boards have 10gb ports?
i would like to have an upgraded lan controller
128GB of rev.e can be $440 after tax on sale
Fair few do iirc
Not worth to pay extra for a premium board just to get integrated 10G imo
Get a used intel x520 da2 sfp+ nic on ebay for $50
thank you all! i think i have a much better understanding of what I need now
thank you for taking the time to help me out
$330 ish level x570 boards often have a 1Gb intel NIC and a second realtek or broadcom 2.5G nic, both rj45
thinking about a 1 tb ssd for system files and 2 4tb hdds
Good config
x470 Taichi Ultimate has a 10gb port if u can find one cheapish
just found out i have extra in our budget, nuclear nachos, that first build you posted, do you think you could send me an updated list with that taichi ultimate?
x470 taichis are surprisingly hard to find for a actual decent price so i'd probably take forks advice they're like sub $100 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VG29k6
I would drop the AIO
Just go for air. Less points of failure
Want as much stability as possible for a server
What's with pcpp thinking 3950x is 500$
listed on pcpp for 500 but on amzn its 690
$700 is the price I'd expect new
yeah its just as much on amazon
huh i must of glazed over that 700 is what it should be yeah
If you really want to run 10gig over cat6a, then https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-X520-T2-E10G42BT-10-Gigabit-PCIe-Dual-Port-Ethernet-Server-Adapter/264766176175
Or similar
alrighty guys thanks im out of here goin shopping
that part is exactly what im looking for!
Is the gigabyte b365m ds3h lga 1151 bios up to date for a i3 9100f
forks you still here?
Is the gigabyte b365m ds3h lga 1151 bios up to date for a i3 9100f
Never mind
@deep skiff hey if you have a minute, could you check out this build and see if I made any glaring errors? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bF9Jcq
for a 3000$ build y such a bad graphics card
oh okay
but does anything else stand out as missing or wrong?
i’m not good with computers i’m noob
the 3960x might be a little overkill, a 16 core 3950x+dark rock pro 4 cooler instead of that aio would save like $900
but if you do go with that threadripper build the motherboard already has a 10 gig port so you wouldnt need that card
just ordered $3.5k worth of parts can't wait boys
guys i tried upgrading my cousins pc and i upgraded the gpu and cpu and now the gpu says no signal to the monitor
no now
so*
i tried plugging in the old cpu and you and it didn’t work
what’s a good cpu for gaming/streaming
for not intense gaming should i chop 100$ off my build with a 1660 super rather than a 2060?
@little osprey 250 is my budget
oh gpu or ur whole pc
okay
im looking on valorant tho and the frames and the temp and all that is almost similar except the 2060 pinching thje lead
integrated graphics will run it fine
@fading acorn 1700X is good for streaming, But I'd actually say to get a 3600 instead
@swift rain get a 1660s
Yea no reason to spend 300 bucks for a 2060 for valorant
what’s is a good cooler for a 3600
stock
hyper 212 black hehe
hyper 212 not good value imo
What they best gaming pc build budget 700
for gaming?
Lol he literally said "for gaming"
oops
we’re you trying to get him to say “yeees.”?
he can upgrade that right there is 550$
quick list, others can chime in - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CPq37T
the ssd has dram cache, even though pcpp doesn't think it does
we have a slight dilemma do i get a 3600 or 3600x or 3600xt or 2700x
i mean x
3600 is still best bang for the buck imo
yea
3600xt is like...however much more $$$ for only 100mhz more boost
so a 170$ 3600 is better
yes
700$ cpu+gpu budget maybe
prob a 1650s
oh ik
my list was 1660s
Honestly I would wait for the 30 series if your not in a rush.
if the ryzen cpu comes with a fan should i get a cooler
ryzen 5 3600
uhh what does this mean
NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, but the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port will not be usable.
judge me
Don't use h510 :D
Also private list lol
Only HDD?
Hard drive
Why
cant i just buy a seagate from like costco and load sht on there
If you want it to be slow sure
2060 super
does that go into the build or just like a storage
Get a SSD to boot from
if u have money rly good bang for buck
@fading acorn 5700xt :p
lmao
5700xt is better than 2060 super?
okey suggest me
Seagate Barracuda Compute is this okay
Loads faster
oh okay
yes 5700xt is better than 2060 super
SSD+hard drive is good
hmm i might get that
Yea 2060s isn't great price to perf considering 5700xt is same price for 2070s performance
check again lmao
damn still under 900 and on black friday and after the new NVDA drop maybe less than 800
what a budget lol
okay but what’s better if i put it with a 3600
Do you stream or no
who
i could possibly get into it
Stream, 2060s, no stream, 5700xt
him i assume
Is simple
isnt ryzen better for liek multi tasking
Ryzen is cheap for more cores
help
The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.
Note:Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.
Ignore
Are you going to have 6 sata drives
no idea what those are
that shows up every time
@deep skiff that's only for boards that share SATA and m.2 bandwidth
B450, don't think so on b550 or x570
well a lot of times
goteem
but other wise for daily use my pc looks fine?
now i need to get onto better internet lol
You use wifi or Ethernet
should i ethernet is it rly worth it
yes
Get a Mobo with wifi then
if you play alot
i play daily
With a wifi module built in
any recs?
Usually cheaper than buying a pcie wifi adapter separate
alos its near 2 am and i have to wake at 8 to volunteer so i gotta sleeo soon
Mobile sucks with pcpp
rec me some mobo with wifi
Idk haven't looked at prices for wifi boards in a while
ah okaty
you can get a mobo with wifi for ~130 probably
put the other 50 towards an SSD instead of HDD for storage
b450 gigabyte aorus pro wifi
in stock at best buy and b&h photo
are you not looking at a 3600?
i am
Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
prick what
Pcpp is dumb
there was a period where 3000 series needed an update
it definitely fits the socket
It's basically impossible they have an outdated motherboard in stock
From a year ago
Ya
Pcpp is just dumb
u better pay pal me 130 if it doesnt work 😄
i would feel almost 100% comfortable that this revised version of the board ships with 3000 compatibility
jk but lets pray
You can put 3800x and b450 gaming pro carbon wifi in pcpp and it'll yell at you
But I have that in my PC rn
So uh
Yea
absolute worst case scenario
you have to update the board via usb drive
but it would work
@crystal quest or, ask AMD for an update kit
Or ask b&h for a return
free.99
Or ask gigabyte for a RMA
o damn
Yea update bios via USB stick without CPU is a thing on a good few boards
And AMD upgrade kit is free iirc
Return is free ofc
thats fine then i hope
yea esspecially to a new builder
Pcpp markets new parts from stores, not used market
oh yea whats ops on buying used
Stores are getting new shipments, with updated bios
if you’re super new to building i would just watch youtube
endlessly helpful
it’s so nice to see it all
Watch Gamers Nexus :D
Or LTT to start with
yea i watch ltt
Me too
alright
Dunno why I love watching hwnews recap
i smell sleep time for me
bitwit, paul’s hardware
cya guys ty for advice
they do a lot of informal builds and some deep dives
you can PM me later with questions
pretty much all i’ve done is watch this type of youtube since quarantine started
i’ve ALMOST got all the parts i need
I've only built 1 PC :p
that’s fine. nows a decent time for the cpu. i’d buy the 3600 now and get the rest piece meal
there is a price war and it’s down to like $155
Yes
incredible deal
I got a 3800x for 330 with some game forgot what it was
Like few months after launch
that’s super clutch
Eh, decent
I think it was outer worlds
Lemme check
Oh yea it was boarderlands 3 and outer worlds with CPU
my roommate just got bl3 on ps4 for $15
he’s ecstatic
i didn’t have the heart to tell him it was free on PC 😂
i respect DICE
ea can die slow
they’ve nearly single handedly ruined the star wars franchise
I need a 2060 for around $300 usd any recommendations?
EVGA 2060 ko should be like 310$ still
^ good brand too
Yo sell me parts is that good for rust n war zone
@patent vapor which card?
@patent vapor I would personally recommend the 5700
he has 700$ budget
Ok thx
I was look at parts awhile ago n found rtx 2060 super is it good
this would work if u jump ur budget
Ya it’s good thx
a 1660 super could do the trick for less
Ok thx
take a look at this
Ssd is bad
That psu looks like a bomb
Lmao
At least get a mp34 a br
And I would get different ram
😭i try
Here let me fix
i’m new to this stuff
Reason: Bad word usage
If the 5700 was in stock I would make this list better but corona says no
And id I made a mistake im kinda delusional when Im on my phone at 1
waddup?
@fading acorn this is the link i posted earlier for the $700 budget, but the case went out of stock in the last like 5 hours lol - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CPq37T
but the coolermaster one in bitcorn's link is a good one, and pushed the total to like $720ish
Anybody knows a affordable CPU
Tips to sleep?
Aww shite rhis is gen
@flat iris 3600 3300x
Higher end buulds 10600k for gaming
Only
10600 is enough
extra cash for the Z board + the high end cooling serving the oc can be poured on games and better gpu
and a serviceable cooler
hello?
10600 non k is a waste
the OC comes from core OC, mesh OC, and cache OC
plus memory OC (with z mobo)
just stay Ryzen instead of intel at that point
I cant see to find anything about my motherboard, its a Gigabyte H110-S2PV-Cf and i wanted to make sure it was compatible with the new graphics card I was going to buy. (nvidia 1660ti) can anyone help?
okie thank youu
👌
I have a Ryzen 3600X processor that seems to be failing to get enough power from the motherboard. Is the additional attachment via the tiny connector to the heatsink itself the answer?
u linked the channel he is in
Oh what I thought this was build pics
The processor came with 2 additional micro connectors. One that seemed to be for the RGB the other... I wasn't sure.
The other is for the fan
the other should be the fan control which you should plug in
I’d assume
is it 4 pin?
Yep. I believe so anyway.
yea plug that into a fan header on ur motherboard or else it will just overheat and crash
My hand was too big to connect it. But I feel that I screwed up by not connecting it.
Lol yeah you have to connect that
does anyone know if the MSI MAG B550M Mortar Gaming Motherboard has a 4 pin 12v connector for rgb
It has two additional connectors. One RGB and the other probably fan control.
Did it look like the image I posted above or no
And wait, 2 additional connectors, so, 3 total?
Is it a wraith prism cooler?
@zinc grail What power supply is that
Could not tell u haha. My cousin gave it to me from his pc he never used
"Besides 4-pin PWM for its fan, the cooler includes two additional cables, an addressable 3-pin RGB cable to control the lighting and a USB cable that plugs into one of your motherboard's USB 2.0/1.1 headers."
So that "3rd" one.
Explained so poorly in the manual. :D
I am looking for suggestion on using AMD cpu to build a trading desktop, mainly for charts and youtube, prefer to drive dual 4k monitors using hdmi, what cpu, MB, ram size can do all this for windows 10? thanks
I mean I’ve heard of USB obviously but never heard of a fan plugging into is
The motherboard has a usb plugin for the cpu. So I guess that's a thing now.
Thanks for your knowledge. I will try again with that plug. It is so tiny...
Something like 1-pin.
Also, what do you mean by its “failing to get enough power”
It doesn't seem to be spinning correctly.
Elaborate on that
And the computer fails to boot.
Well, the heatsink fan.
intricate on that note
Well I had these kind of prob before does it look like this
Just blinks and fans move slow then fast
Yep. Exactly that.
