what do you guys think of the other components
not Windows 95 vms :)
hmm
Go with 4x16 CL16 ram
thx
motherboard you don't need a 360$ board
a good x570 is all you need
tuf gaming plus wifi as kinda placeholder
whatever good x570 is in stock whenever you buy
Ram for the reason we talked about
SSD and HDD for the reason we talked about
(moar storage)
Do you really thing WD black is necessary? they're pricey
eh not really just slapped a random drive on
barracuda 3tb and maybe 4tb had failure issues so I went and grabbed a random WD 7200rpm drive
SN750 at 500GB is a good price right?
at 70$ it's good
yee
I got 660p 1TB at 85 π
I gotta upgrade my monitor for Xmas
ST2000DM008 is also good innit
I got a 75hz one
Newegg has been good to me
π
I couldn't π
good imo
only got two SATA III ports
or 3x2tb barracuda and make a raid5
other one is SATA II I think
what was raid 5
raid 5 is distributed parity
Hey how do you take advantage of your max hz
I could put another drive on via USB tho
confused
anyone got a suggestion for monitor size do you guys think 32 is too big?
32 is big for gaming, great for other stuff
I gotta check mine when I get home because I upgraded my HDMI cable and now I should be able to run 75hz @8k
4k
go to Display settings, Advanced display settings, and display adapter properties
4k you want big π
Yeah I say 24" is perfect
hmm
Gaming 24-28" at 1440p
how about refresh rate ?
I believe 32inch 2160p is perfect
you get a little popup window that you can change your refresh rate in
120hz-144hz is good
hmm
144hz usually
At the very least 75hz
For gaming
I havn't seen any prevalent 120hz monitors
For productivity, just get a big 4k at 60hz
i was looking for a 32 144 4k but i dont think they make that
yeah
unless you have a 2080ti you won't even get close to 144fps
144 hz i mean
Mhm
What CPU u got
I'd recommend a dual monitor. One smaller high refresh rate for gaming, one large 60hz for other stuff
hz and fps equate
2700x
144hz can show up to 144fps
Thats what I have @sand falcon
2700x gang π
if you can't put out 144fps, having a 144hz monitor doesn't help it
i got 32 60hz 4k right now
Bruh
few year old
I had a 2700
Keep that monitor. It's a nice one, then add like a 28, 144hz 1440p one
2700x is a good chip
Yeaa
Newegg was good to me there too. Got it for 180
I'm running a 1660s
when they were ripping off everyone
@sand falcon how does raid 5 work with speeds?
because the parity has to be calculated from other drives
how much difference do you think ill notice with the ram
I usually see a decent improvement on read, but not that much on write
wdym difference with the ram
raid can be ram hungry
I mean matrix
If you're able to cache the entire stripe before writing back, you get faster write speeds, so the ram will improve things
i saw an article saying wait for next gen gpu but i dont think i want to wait
I have an X570...So that way I can upgrade to the next gen M.2s, GPUs, and AMD
If I wanted to
which x570?
MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
The only problem I have with that motherboard is the ez debug bug
Took me 3 hours to get the PC to boot to BIOS
wdym
i have had the worst experience with asus rma so i think i wont go asus again
msi has lots of good reviews
the ace i mean
There's a common problem with that motherboard. The ez debug light will go on and say something is wrong with your RAM or CPU. It could be very difficult to get your PC to boot up
i like godlike but its too damn expensive
When I first got it to boot correctly, it only recognized one of my RAM sticks, so I restarted It and it took another 30 minutes for me to get it to boot again
..?
Repeatedly switching off the PSU and holding the power button
For 3 hours...
Brb
why did you do that..?
Because the motherboard wouldn't boot my PC. I also re installed my RAM twice and then it finally worked
because just switching off the psu and holding power button doesn't do anything by itself..?
what benchmarks do you guys run to make sure your system is running optimally?
Phoronix
Hey guys, this is my first build, so I don't know what to expect in terms of desktop cpu behavior, but this is looking unusual to me for idle. Can any of you confirm?
The cpu clock is all over the place, and my temp is like a sawtooth wave jumping between 45 and 55C
As a result, my fans keep ramping up and down which is very annoying.
NZXT case fans and Arctic PWM fans. 4 in total in my H210i
how are they set up?
intake and outtake wise
Install the necessary apps for those fans so you can control them
if you havent already
The Arctic 140mm fans are intake, NZXT are exhaust. But the fans aren't the issue here, it's the cpu clock.
Does a rog strix mother board only fit a amd cpu
yeah but you may be able to control the fans running fast, as you claim
???
Yes I can control the fans, but I want to solve the root of the problem rather than a bandaid to stop the noise.
Imma neck my self ive waited so long fuckkkk
you cannot install an Intel CPU on that particular motherboard
What mother board can i then
What mother board shouldni get??
and not reallt worth it
@little osprey Whatcha got?
I mean already bought it so
@slender cliff clock speeds are fine
Just mess with your fan curve so it doesn't ramp up and down idle
AMD reigns supreme when it comes to gaming @shadow mango
10th gen*
when AMD hasnt released their 4th gen
yeah thats what I'm saying
He probably doesnt have a 10th gen Intel
@brittle spindle and do i need a ryzen cpu for that or can i use an intel for that
I have a intel cpu
you need Ryzen cpu with that
What CPU do you have?
the mobo i was getting jumped up to like 300 π©
intel cpu uses a completely different way of putting the CPU in :P
yay now I'm on 75herz
AMD CPUs the pins are on the CPU, Intel CPUs the pins are on the motherboard with contacts on the CPU.
@shadow mango wtf is your cpu?
Intellllll
okay fantastic. which one?
so should i get a new mother board or a new cpu
i5 ??
Which intel i5?
^^^
Just i5 means nothing
We could also give a different mobo
motherboard
Which specific CPU do they have
and since he already has the motherboard just get the CPU
He also already has the cpu it sounds like
i5-7640x
okay
I was a bout to say some i5's are good
is that bad
Yes
It's a bit better than a potato
i got it for cheap asf ccause my friends dad works at intel
How much?
100
plus small cache memory, I would definitely go for a ryzen 5 over that any day
only 100
Okay figment, that's a 3800x you linked to
I have ryzen 5 2600x, it's keeping up with a RTX 2070 and it works very well
well now that he says it costed him $100, definitely Ryzen 5
100 dollars is overpriced for that CPU
yea lol
oh well ill just off my self
Yup
witch one i just got sent 2 dif ones
same one
get the 3600
not the 3600x
oh okay bet
The 3600
get the 3600 and you'll be gucci
may I ask how you are cooling your PC @shadow mango
?
okay i wonderif some computer place wll take this intell off my hand
Can you not just return it?
His friend ripped him off
mhm
I'll check ebay prices
whats your case
carbide 275r
expensive
This cpu hasn't been run on cinebench r20 yet
can he fit that AIO? he should be able to right?
i can
good choice then π
ripppp
thanks i just didnt know the motherboard and cpu thing
ive been researching alot latley
yeah shouldve looked more into that
So good news
ahhh opkay
@sand falcon
The intel cpu is going for like 200 in ebay rn
Reason: Bad word usage
Which one
He isn't getting that
yea thats the same one
That's the one he needs to get rid of
yea
We know
Put it on there for 200, undercut the other folks, make a $40 profit, and get a better performing computer
so i feel like that will take for ever to sell so i might call some places tomorrow and see if they will buy it off of me
i got it for 100 so i could sell it for 150
i dont need profit i just want my money back
Yea
im not really worried about making money off it
See if you can comp the difference to the AMD chips price though
thanks for the help everyone i wonder if any computer stores near me sell that cpu so i can start working on it tomorrow and not have to wait another week that would be very nice
Try walmart
If your in the us microcenter is your best bet for a local store with stock. Can check online
there is one at best buy but 190 instead of 160
π¦
or 170 i mean
190 instead 170
Itβs 159.99 at microcenter
@severe bloom i dont hjave that where i live
well i do its an hour an 20 mins and i got work tomorrow
Any good cheap set of fans pwm non rgb
well the cpu is gonna be 204$ cause sales tax π¦
thats tough
i wanna cry my self to sleep tn
Pix
yo
Are you desperate to do a new build?
Corsair ML120 Pro, 120mm Premium Magnetic Levitation Cooling Fan CO-9050040-WW https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G5I6O4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ibU4EbGDPEE6V are good but they donβt come in a 3 pack
I'm abnout to upgrade my ryzen 5 2600 to a ryzen 9
i have everything but my cpu i got an intel so it didnt fit
If you pay shipping, I might be able to send you the processor for just shipping
i get paid tomorrow so im not worried about the money lol
Oh nvm
yea i was like i work 40 hours a week so im not slcaking the extra cash
im good thanks for the offer tho i appreciate it
No problem!
Hate to say this but Rule 9 π¦
Not that I'd buy it cause I already have 9900k, but im surprized the 10900k is still out of stock
Ml120pro do get quite loud though so you know
It was in stock for a bit today. Went away very fast though
Considering intel has had so many process issues and problems keeping other gen CPUs stocked on their release Iβm not surprised.
Did you see the newest security bug?
Wonder when the samsung odyssey g9 will be out though supposed to be and of this month
Wow there is a list on sites for it now 1,699 for it yikes.. I'll stick to the crg9
whats a nice motherboard tht comes in white?
Intel or amd
intel
I was lookin and seen that the MSI H310M GAMING ARCTIC Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
is really good
hey i ordered a @sand falcon the reason i asked is bc i bought a ryzen 5 just yesterday but if i can return it and get my money back i can use some money to get a ryzen 9
You should be able to. Just talk to customer support
its 11;47pm so they asleep
Has the order already shipped? If not, you might be able to cancel it yourself
No I already have the cpu but could I return it
Okay
I have the box and everything
Could also sell on ebay if not
The sticker is still in its spot
I will never use ebay
How much could I get for the Ryzen 5 3600 and fan
Also I have an Ryzen 3 2200G I could sell
But the numbers a little wore
Could anyone help me with an AIO Iβm putting in my new build I have an H115 platinum but I donβt know how I should Install my fans and what side of the case I should install the rad
The Corsair carbide 275 R
$700 build?
@pliant finch nice!!
we just built a pc ryzen 7 3700x geforce rtx 2060 super and 3tb hard drive and 480gb nvme ssd
and 16 gb of corsair rgb vengance ram
Ok
Ram timing
i was thinking about a 2080 build but idk if its worth.
Storage drive is good, but overpriced cause it's samsung lmao
ah
also, if you already own a windows device you don't need to buy windows
oh ok how would i put it on the other pc?
so you'll need to find the serial number of the windows on your other computer
can i find that in my pc?
Open commandprompt, and type
wmic bios get serialnumber
do i have to run as admin?
Wait bloody hell ignore what i just wrote
I think i had a stroke
that gets your pc serial number lmao
lol
Run powershell, type
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey
whoops
it'll give you the product key for your windows license
and you can just copy it down somewhere and paste it when you're setting up windows on your new device
@magic bough As for SSDs, check out this list
it's pinned in #storage-devices if you need further reference later
but it gives you a good idea what you're going to get from an SSD
i was gonna get the 1tb mp34
ooh good
should i instead?
suggestions?
how many?
it costs 80
whats ur favorite or do you recommened?
anyone up
Yea, driving myself crazy tracking my last to parts for my build. Now been delayed till Monday. So one last weekend of xbox one.
what are you waiting on
im thinking of this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VcjNV7
found all the parts except the case
My gtx 1650 super, an my psu. Have the rest. ASRock B365M Pro 4, i5 9400, 16 gb ram, 2tb hdd. And a deepcool matrexx 30 case.
Getting high airflow fans for the case and high airflow heatsink next week.
It's a budget build with tons future upgrades to be made.
Very nice, of only I made 3k . I'd be one happy camper. But at least I'm getting to build and have a pc again
After almost 3 years on the xbox one.
thx
i got that case already i want to get another one
cant find it
probably cause this damn coronavirus affect supply chain
Oh yea it's insane. The minute I bought my psu it went out of stock. Only reason I wen intel, and not amd
Is because all the mini itx motherboards I could afford were out of stock.
So I'm going micro atx intel build
yea its annoying situation we are all dealing with
evga out of psu
except one
its too much
1600w
atleast corsair has some
Yea all the cheap ones of all the brands are pretty much gone. It crazy, more people than ever are building pc and most are 1st time builders.
I dont really overclock that much, and the i5 9400 doesn't get that hot. So a high airflow heatsink will be more than enough for my needs, but maybe some day I might
yea a lot of personal preference
i got a 2700x right now
using cooler it came with
dont really need to oc
its enough
it was a pain to install the cooler though
aio is easier
Yea, I was originally thinking of getting one still might. Going see what best buy has in store, before ordering online. Plus they price match with newegg. So win win.
ya i would say go for aio
Can only be a 120mm rad though. Though in all honesty , might get a case that has more case fans in it. My only has two. It was on sale for 32$ so I foolishly grabbed it. So that's another thing I have to buy before I start building. Still has to be a mini/micro case due to limited space.
So on the hunt I go
ya case is importnat
That's ok my girlfriend will end up with it. Going to build her a low end system. Most likely an amd A10 apu and no gpu, she's really hot a gamer.
Those A10s run stupid cool. Had one years ago and with an air cooler, never went above 65-70 Celsius.
sounds good
Last one I built for her only cost 450$
cool
Found a fractal design focus g mini with up to 6 case fans, for 54$ might get it.
link?
Phones being stupid, just got to newegg and look up the fractal design focus g mini.
@drifting timber why a 1000w PSU tho..... Sure most PSUs are out of stock but can still on average find a 550w - 750w PSU for half the price of that 1000w
Can easily get a 2080Ti in there for the same budget
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MCJPk6
isnβt that ssd overkill/expensive or is there something Iβm missing
hi everyone, just joined, and have limited pc knowledge.
could i get some advice on a game audio pc build, i have some recommendations if it helps, thnaks
I dont know if they do. But I got mine from best buy a few days back
Corsair rm850x
Making my first build soon only got a Β£550 budget so am going for an overall performance instead of one sector
Hey guys! Im building a new PC with this partlist and am looking for a case to house it all in, preferably one with RGB and a tempered glass pannel to show it off through. My main concern in airflow, I live in key west florida and the room my computer is in can get pretty warm just from the temperature outside. Thanks so much for any help or advice I really appreciate it π
https:// pcpartpicker.com/list/fvLpvW (just remove the space, idk why newegg support sent me here if I cant share my partlist especially when they link to newegg lol)
690 USD for reference
Lol mee6 doing the thing
ah, well that makes sense I just joined lol
There ya go
Big
9900k lol
Not the best chip
The motherboard is a bit pricey
what Im not getting a futurama dodecahedron of power box with it?
that.. actually makes sense lol
But what's the total budget?
Vr gaming and possibly streaming
My total budget was 2500 but im willing to go a little over for a nice case thatll protect my other parts
Where's PSU tho
I also have a half a tb ssd and a 750 power source from my old pc im canabalizing
Good PSU?
Id say its pretty good l, maybe a little dusty but im getting 10 cans of air on a deal so i dont mind wasting a whole one cleaning it out lol
What brand is it?
Is there a way to check from my system settings?
no
take a look at it
Under the side panel
Bag secure
Ryzen to the top my man
lol
Cx650m
Yeah that's a fine PSU
Thanks for all the help again boysβ€οΈβ€οΈ
That's what we do
Will it have enough power for this build though?
Oh yeah it's Intel cpu
Yeah
I forget about power draw for intel
Should i upgrade the psu?
Probably
The vr unit im getting is a valve index if that makes a difference
Especially if you want to OC
I'm looking what wattage rn
went for a stupid big case for reasons but here
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PmNZmg
everything together at 2389$
650w might actually cut it, but it would be really tight
10900k is out of stock right now, but it's a placeholder
could get a 10600kf rn for 300$
It's better ram, better ssd.
Would you consider a bigger rad?
eh h500m can fit 360 up top
you could probably get a good 360 for that price
could get like a h150i or smth
this is with a x73
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8VfCQq
All the parts on that list were in stock when i put my cart together ignore the site lol
10900k can dump a lot of power when overclocked
also that case looks like its from 2015 ngl
can't find 1900k in stock rn tho
lol idc it's big it's nice it's got good airflow
argb fans too
Didn't it gulp 300W+ in the benchmarks?
OCed yea it did
Thats actually the case i was considering
heh
It was pretty hard to find a case that actually had top clearance for the 280 radiator
that case has clearance for 360mm up top xD
It should come with all the cables you need
Cool jw ive never ordered from that retailer before didnt know
thx for the psu and case recommendation guys parts are on the way youll prob hear from me again when I run into easily fixable issues while setting it up lol
I mean if clearance was an issue could also go x63 instead of x73. 280mm and 360mm are basically the same in cooling perf
also note that if stock comes to be an issue. As well as x62/x72 options. Main difference is coldplate being flatter in the newer models.
That or Arctic Freezer II
@cursive wharf I wanted 360mm in that build bc 10900k OCing... Also it looks nicer when the rad stretches across the entire top, also x63 was at a really high price for some reason. Freezer 2 also oos.
believe me 280 works fine
highly used in high end GPU AIO stuff
which is easily 375w stock peak
A couple 480s should do lmao
but, people aint running on stock. 400w+ BIOSes and all
I tried an x62 on a TR 3970x and without overclocking it would run in high 80s and the cpu pulls 280w
Ew intel
I mean TR likes the big cold plates tho
Also threadripper has considerably more computing power than the 10900k
Here is what 280mm can do
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/572831419835875329/640624141371834368/gpu_pump_rpm.PNG
Dumb question my I got my motherboard today and it was not sealed in the static bag, is it gonna be okay?
It's probably OK, but if it was supposed to be new you should complain. Test it and if everything appears to work I would say you are good
I'll test it when the rest comes. I bought I from new egg I figured it was opened to check pins but the dang bag was open it's supposed to be new.
I'll keep fingers crossed.
usually it isn't sealed I think? it's just in the bag inside the box
Oh... yeah, I thought you meant it didn't come in an anti-static bag at all
Yeah it's in the bag.
Just the dang thing is open a little.
This is my first build by myself so in a little cautious, I haven't built one since my dad passed. So I was a little worried.
yea it's normal
Cool beans.
Yeah they may be open and just kind of folded under the board. They used to put a small piece of tape but I havenβt seen them do that since Haswell era.
At least not asus, msi or gigabyte only board brands I have ever purchased.
ye
Anyone recommend getting microcenter to build my Pc?
Cool beans.
@real gorge
I'm not the only one!
anyone here
Yes
@shy otter if youβre really not comfortable itβs an ok choice to have them build it but itβs not hard to throw together watch a few videos and just take your time.
Itβs mainly out of fear that Iβll break something. Iβve been considered inviting some buddies over to help me out. But itβs a lot of money to have in your friends hands @severe bloom
Lloyd do what makes you the most conformable
comfortable
fear is okay. Its an emotion we all experience
Cable management is the hardest part but if you go slow itβs not so bad. Is it the fear of bending pins or just damage in general?
@little osprey Awesome. Thought it was my rig for a sec there
Microcenter is one one of the top services
Its okay if someone else builds it for you. You are still a gamer at heart
I think building my own would be badass but Iβd be arrogant to say that I know how to do it. Iβm scared that Iβll break the motherboard when I try to mount on the pins.
Lloyd
Like I said
Its okay. Don't listen to others trying to push it. Take it slow
Itβs ok to have microcenter do it. Do you have an old pc your going to retire?
@potent prairie thanks π€πΌ
Yes.
I used to work at a microcenter and I suggest it
Microcenter does some solid builds
Okay great
So have them build it and then after you have it running fiddle with taking apart the old one and putting it back together to gain that xp
Yeah we have all been in your spot
Best of luck to you
Thanks Intel for sponsoring this video! Learn more about how to build your own gaming PC at https://lmg.gg/edWob
Linus is taking the reins away from our film team and giving you his own view of building a gaming PC. This is a first person build guide featuring Intel's 9700K C...
This will help ease your fear too
Taking apart old retired computers and putting them back together is the best way to learn
Thank you so much.
Np. Best of luck to you and game on
Once i build it, I donβt like the idea of upgrading because of all the ewaste. Am I alone in this thinking?
I sell old parts when I upgrade if I can. Ram and video cards easily sell on the after market
its up to you. What I usually do is sell my old pc when I'm ready to upgrade
People will gladly to spend a lower price on a used pc then build on
one
Then you can start over
yeah, when you have the old parts, either sell them, donate them, or gift them.
Great options
If it's a whole machine, goodwill would be glad to take it
I feel like taking mine apart
I currently have the budget to up my RAM to 32GBs, but I am unsure if I should. Anyone have thoughts on this?
What will you be doing with the system?
2080 super gang πΆπΏ
Would it be possible to build my own PC for the budget of $1k? That'd be able to run Cyberpunk 2077, GTA online and VRchat o-o?
That will be perfectly do-able
Thank you ^^! I'm a complete beginner at this so I basically don't know what I'm doing exactly yet ;;
Is Adorama a trustable website to order parts from??
@inland atlas you will like that 2080 black. Ocs very well.
@delicate otter https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fgPNV7
Should I go for an 8gb RX 580 or an 4gb 1650 Super?
1650 super
@wide sparrow I do not on PC.. I use to alot on PS4
Np brother
@void raft How are you doing the charity builds? Some sort of fundraiser/raffle?
I founded the charity
I do donations, have sponsors, and host fundraisers to get parts that aren't covered.
It might not be a build, but I'll showcase a few of the sponsors I have managed to get for the charity.
@sand falcon I started out early 2019 doing it all out of pocket. Then moved to sponsors, then filed for 501(c)3 status, then eventually got more sponsors and better parts. I do it full time in my garage, but I build 36 PC's a year for Disabled Veterans and Disabled First Responders completely free of charge.
That's really cool π Once I graduate college and have some spare cash I'll have to remember this
Thanks boss. I will stick the charity page links in the #links-and-selfpromotion page
apparently not... linktree isn't allowed. Maybe Tiltify since it's streamer related.
Once your name turns blue you can post links
lol got it
Just chat for a bit and you'll be good
No worries.
I'll hang out. Also, Thanks @inner sphinx for the follow.
I'm sponsored by a former employee that now works for PowerColor lol
Speaking of sponsors. AMD almost made me come to tears when they said they were sending the first round of CPU's today and that the second round would be here in a few weeks to finish out the rest of the year. Came to the front door and found a box of 3970x Threadrippers.
@void raft really clean builds and great cause
Thanks @severe bloom. I've got a ton if you ever want to see more. I'm Shellback_Tech everywhere on all media.
If i have the option for 1 m.2 would it be better to get like a 250gb for only windows or buy a 1tb for windows and some games?
Depends on the budget. I usually recommend a 500gb M.2 with larger storage for everything else on a spinning disk or sata ssd.
Yea.
Personal rig uses 2 m.2 and 2 sata SSD. Most builds I do have a 500gb or 1TB m.2 for main games/OS, then a 2TB or larger HDD
Yeah at least 500g. Newegg has 1tb evo and evo pros on sale right now.
That offers storage space for less used things and main games on the m.2
Mp34 512gb + Seagate barracuda 2tb is what I usually reccomend
Look into some of the Sabrent Rocket 500gb models. They're good price to performance.
They are up but still not as bad as I have seen them go.
Just make sure they're not the PCIE Gen4 models so you don't overpay.
it was like 120$ for 1tb Sabrient rocket
unless you absolutely need it
Grab the cheapest out of either MP34, SN750, or sabrent rocket most of the time
I have a 4tb my book or something like that. I saw that I can basically turn that into internal but I also planned to get around 1 to 2 tb as well between ssds or m.2s
If your board supports more than 1 m2 drive start with a smaller and add a big one later when prices come down
If you can find them in stock, snag an Inland 500gb PCIe Gen3 m.2
which one
I won't be building for at least a few months, waiting on the ryzen 4000s, big navi and rtx 30 series
Isnβt inland only sold at microcenter bc itβs their brand?
Nah Amazon too
seems to be quite a few inland m.2 SSDs
Inland premium looks good spec wise if the price is good
I love the Seagate 510's, but they're hard to find right now.
Is the one I use as a spare drive
Inland is what I used for a few months when we couldn't get sponsored m.2's for the charity.
Thatβs why itβs a spare drive
They're still better than a Sata SSD
Couldnβt say no to an extra tb for that price and itβs faster than a sata ssd
lol exactly
Too bad they are sold out
amazon
should i adjust my monitor settings for color or leave it how it comes in the box
I threw in the link to our charity so you guys/gals/non-binary pals could check out all the rest of the work I do.
Adjust. Out of box settings are ok but not the best
should i watch a video? i dont want to mess it up
Actually google the monitor you have and type in recommended color settings. Usually there are step by step guides for it.
ok
As long as it isn't some obscure generic off-brand model nobody has heard of, you can usually find decent guides.
how do i look it up? the SKU or Item number
It says on the back of the monitor.
oh
there ya go
i press a button on the site right?
Yeah side or bottom should bring up a on screen menu
Is this where I ask a question about pc parts?
Yep
Ok, so I've never built a pc, and finally decided to build one, I have a buddy that can help me put it together but I'm having trouble picking out parts
Just built my 10700k setup with new mobo, rog strix gaming-f and new psu corsair rm 850x. I have connected all the cables but when i start the pc only the ram and mobo lits up, case fan attempts to start spin but stops immidietly. No fans are spinning. Anyone got a clue?
I talked to another guy and he said my build was decent for my price range, but I can't find a good motherboard
My budget is 750-800usd
@blissful osprey is it new drives or ones youve just wiped?
sounds like a faulty boot thing ive hadthose issues before, reinstall windows is the fix, ive also seen that problem happening from power supply issues, but i dunno why that one happens, faulty or underpowered i guess
@little osprey no new drives or wiped, it wont even start and get into bios, no fans starts spinning from gpu, psu or cpu or case
oh,no fans start at all other then case? no idea then
Yeah not even case starts, case fan moves a very tiny bit when i click the power button then stops immidietly. Only power led, ram and mobo lits up all quiet
Are all your power connectors fully seated? If say for example the 24 pin isnβt fully in you would possibly get some board lights from the other power connectors but nothing more.
Could I get this or should I spend a little more to upgrade
I have a 570 rn but only 4GBs
@severe bloom yeah they are all in, i made sure and reconnected them without success
570 your better off getting used, it wont last much longer but id still recomend it as a placeholder if you need something asap
its a great last gen card
570 for $150 is pretty high, buy them used for like 80-100
if you can still game right now, save up for new GPUs they are coming this year, if not, 570 is the smartest choice imo if you dont need nvenc, just dont expect it to play literally anything thats on new consoles
yeah they are like 80 bucks used
oh wait, upgrading a 4gb 570 to a 8gb 570 is just a total waste of money lol
didnt realise that was your comment
it will underperform on the power side before the vram is the bottleneck, 4gb is a good match for that card, it wont matter if you have enough vram in the future if your card cant push 30 fps anyway
ya
whats the issue that makes you want to upgrade @analog pulsar
what do you guys think of this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kYDF6R
is it worth it though?
What are you using it for
@little osprey.......GTA is like feed me feed me
it seems like cost isnt much concern i that build, just get a 2080 ti lol
games, vms, cad
Then ya. I would get it
i would avoid buying any high end gpu rn tbh
i had a 1050 2gb and it mostly destroyed gta lol
Which GTA?
the one people play lol, v
@drifting timber thatβs a very easy case to build in
What settings was it on?
Can I send someone a link in DMs to my pc build from pc partpicker
I have a question about it
well textures were on medium but the rest on high, my point is, if your having problems in GTA, a 570 is not the issue
You can post it here, you just need to take the http part off
What's the question @proud yacht
thx'
There ya go
So in this build, it says there are compatability issues, but someone told me that it's fine because it isn't updated, can someone tell me if these parts will work?
something about the motherboard and the cpu
The 3600 and aorus pro wifi?
correct
Ok, I'm about to build my first pc and i don't want to mess it up
You can see on the manufacturers page that it comes 3000 ready
Literally am scared out of my mind to get the parts and build it
The b450 motherboards didn't use to support gen 3 out of the box, but if you update them they work just fine
Most of em do now tho
This one comes with the update already done
This is a good build
Stay calm lol
Ik I made it lol
Spent a month looking for parts
I was gonna say, it looks like one we would design π
Ya lol
Good case
I just need to get a little bit more money and I can build my first rig!
Pog
sounds like your prepared bob, i felt the same way at 19 yrs old and it worked first try, other then forgetting to turn the power supply switch to on lol
i mean
breakfest
Lol
Nice
Once I get the money, I be ordering xD
So excited to switch from ps4 jet engine
if youve watched a bunch of build videos youl be fine
austin evans ew
Lol
Hello Austin, I'm guys!!!!
the scary thing is if you have a dead part that makes the whole system not work so you cant figure out which part, like the psu or gpu if you have no onboard, but, its never happened to anyones first build that I've ever heard of so -shrug-
One last question
I have windows 10 on my laptop, is there a way I can transfer it to my pc?
From laptop to pc
desktop i mean
do you just want windows or all your files and stuff?
you can just use the same key in the new pc
same key?
just install windows via the websites directions, and use the windows key yiur using now in the new pc
What do I look up to get that?
itl be on a sticker on your pc case, or physical copy of windows
otherwise google how to find it in windows i forget how
ok
I just can't afford to buy another copy and was wondernig if it was compatable from a laptop to a desktop
yeah, you can install windows on any pc unlimited times, pc or laptop, you dont even need the windows key unless you want windows fully activated... which dosent mean much
also some websites sell keys for cheap and it generally tends to be legit, but ive never had an issue using old keys, been using an old windows 7 key on a few new builds now
We don't speak of such things here.
Iβm getting a new cpu with a 3900x and 2080s, does anyone know a good compatible x570 motherboard?
Motherboard w/^*
If you want pretty top of the line with all the bells and whistles or something cheaper?
I just need m.2 slots and usb 3.0/3.2 slots w/ no bottlenecking
I was looking at the msi mpg x570 gaming plus
Not sure if thatβs too cheap of a board for x570
What difference would the tomahawk make compared to the asus?
The tomahawk has more power phases so if you oc it will perform better. The msi mpeg is a good board too
The mpeg looks to have beefier heat sinks on the vrms than the Asus so it wonβt run as hot and will also oc better
I donβt think iβll oc either way, so I suppose the mpg is the move
Thank you for the help
No problem good building
Thank you, looking to prepare for the long run
What happends when my cpu cooler doesnt fitππ
Just checked that out, looks solid as well
Like the holes dont line up at all
You using the stock cooler?
No
What cooler?
@hazy walrus if you want two m.2s tho, vertical mount the gpu and connect it to the second mount
Coolermaster master liquid
Cuz putting it in the first gpu bracket disables the first m.2 slot
I have two sata ssds already, shouldnβt be too big of a deal to grab 2
Nice, nice
One*
It should have a mounting bracket for the am4 socket
My x63 kraken came with the right stuff, so Idk how to help you there
We take the time to help you install the Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID MD360R RGB with it's A-RGB fans and housing on a Ryzen based system.

What do you guys think is better the
Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro XT or NZXT Kraken X73
Or is there a better 360mm rad
I had issues with NZXT's CAM software iCue is ok but its a resource hog
iCue gives more options on what you want to set your fans curves to than CAM
I didn't have a good experience with it controlling fans for the cooler, the rgb control was fine
"The one uniting factor among all competing RGB systems, is that the software sucks, it's garbage. NZXT Cam is one of the most usable interfaces, and given our opinions on Cam, that's saying something"
lol pretty much!
that gif on screen is pretty great too
https://youtu.be/-iPggUimB4k?t=605
Cooler Master's MasterBox TD500 Mesh case is one of the most interesting we've worked with this year, striking a firm balance within the $100 price-class of high-performance cases. Review within.

Any opinion on a Castle 360ex?
NZXT it is!
Yea
I thought I'd never see the day
I'd be wary as hell about anything NZXT, especially a case. Seeing as I own one, and it's nothing but issues.
They make decent aio tho
I was only gettinf an NZXT aio
I'm getting an Aorus AIO so I can't say much about price, lol
Just do the paperclip method
Paperclip is weird
Should i grab the x73 or z73 you think?
Why do you say that? @stoic island
if you don't know correct pings
Y'all saw the new console specs
I think the only difference between x73 and z73 is the display
I've had no issues with any of my NZXT products
They look something
I'm more interested in RDNA2 and ampere
I actually love my aio and my case
Yessir
