its just N1/N2 bad
Seasonic S12ii, M12ii x20w, Evo x20w and ET are listed as potentially dangerous
I'll have to check
All I know is that it’s not actually made by seasonic
but basically stay as far away from these as possible
good thing i only had a non k quad core and 1050 on myne lol
and never buy these
those seasonics are so popular though, how potential is their potentially
oof It lacks OCP
i never heard of any problems from them
lacks OTP too I think
Over current protection is missing according to Mr1
thats a dangerous combo if it is
so basically if you run a load higher than the rated power
its gonna blow xD
Yikesies
or just really high current
and keep at it for a while
it'll burn up
seems like its got opp so straight up too much power won't be too much of an issue
So, Corsair cx series modular 750m?
Not unless you want to play the RMA game
many CXM units have coil whine
CX units are good
That’s a decent model, but quite a lot of power for something that is just decent
I mean it’s not bad by any means though
It’ll work
I just don't want to fry my and threadripper
Probably won’t fry anything
iuno if its still the case but on amd that situation would kill your board not cpu
You should wait for the 30xx series from nv
any ideas on which month they release?
2070 super

thoughts?
Could go for a 3600 and save $35, spend that on a cooler
Can get an entry level x570 board for that price
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nHxbt6/gigabyte-x570-aorus-elite-atx-am4-motherboard-x570-aorus-elite
ram is fine, might be able to find same or faster for slightly cheaper
If you're gonna spend $150 on 1TB boot, please get this instead
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QQrmP6/western-digital-sn750-1-tb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-wds100t3x0c
It can be found for $120-130 on sale though.
Better pick for psu
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Tsbkcf/bitfenix-formula-gold-750w-80-gold-certified-atx-power-supply-bp-fm750ulag-7r
i think i will keep the 3600x and add an additional cost for cooler
id say, 3600, cheaper b450, and you can get a super fast 1 tb m.2 nvme drive for just 10-20 bucks more
or get a cheaper sata 3 ssd
Can someone help me?
With?
Every time I try to increase my ram frequency to its speed 3600mhz (compatible with my motherboard) it won’t boot, but when I boot it to auto frequency it boots perfectly fine
did you set an XMP profile
Yes
You could try running the frequency overclock manually
Kit is probably just unstable at 3600mhz
What vccio /vccsa
YAY my mis-delivered package made it to my house, no thanks to UPS....issue was corrected by my neighbour! YAY
I fixed it somehow
Alright another quick question
Why is it showing up like that on userbenchmark is there a fix?
thats just userbenchmark being bad
Because you've used all but 7GB of that poor ssd
Use this https://windirstat.net/
hello can someone teach me how to flip pcs
im gonna be bored over the summer
and have a couple hundred dollars I made from working
sure
idk really where to start though
Spend money on parts, build parts, sell complete build, make money
boom
easy peasy
used or new?
what are platforms to find those parts if used?
where would I sell the completed build?
I usually buy used
eBay or facebook marketplace or something to find them
Usually sell locally. Shipping, especially on lower-end PCs, will kill your profit
First gen intel is really only decent with i7s
Old AMD stuff is usually a no-no
Except decent FX stuff or something
yeah
did u ever use liquidation.com?
ok, tysm for your help, I'll be on the watch for decent parts :))
Yeah DM me with any other questions
There's a lot more to know about PSUs, cases, how to sell, etc
Sata I think
probably
@potent prairie hard to tell unless zoomed in, but I think thats sata still :P
What graphics card is good for 230$ or sum
Thanks i had in my cart a gtx 1660 ventus xs
@mighty sapphire That's a usb 3.1 type c front panel header cable
Yes..?
I thought it was just sata plugs with the like crooked thing
Yeah but i will be getting that gigabyte 1660
eh I dont use use type c so I dunno
The connector looks exactly like a usb type c header - also sata cables are very rarely round
I've literally never seen a round sata cable
It wouldn’t fit in the sata slot on the motherboard
It’s from the PO-11 dynamic racer edition
Razer **
It goes in the header on the far left of this pic
I was thinking like this thing :p
@mighty sapphire actually it depends on if your board has one or not, it seemed like many boards don't have one, what board do you have
Only higher end cases like the O-11 will have type c headers, most modern mobo's do, but ya got a pcpp link?
H510 did
someone was asking about b450 boards with usb c internal header, I didn't find any :p
I remember some GN video explaining is costs about $10 to manufacture said header cable
Tuf b450 pro
You can buy adapters, but it wouldn't run at fast speeds
@mighty sapphire your picture looks like an esata cable possibly?
I'd just tuck the cable away with a zip tie to use later on with your next build.
I'd get the wd black 512 for $70
A 2x8 3600 cl(anything) kit for $80
Far better psu like a bitfenix formula gold 650 for $120
It definitely looks like the cable in the thing you sent on amazon!
It has the usb 3.0 big cable as well
And there’s only one hookup on my motherboard for that it looks like
@modest kraken Try checking that your USB 3.0/2.0 internal cables are fully connected
Or just plug directly into mobo
Oh. Odd. What brand?
logitech
Hmm. Check if there is a switch on the back. Possible it has a bios mode
what motherboard and what OS
Also can try restarting if you haven't already
tried that
Tried different ports?
it is a b450 mobo and rn it windows 7 bc that is the work drive for my pc at work
Windows 7 does not have usb3 drivers built in. Mouse and keyboard will die as soon as windows loads
You need windows 10
never been in that situation myself. There are ways to get the drivers isntalled on windows 7, but none of them are exactly simple.
ok so should i just install a flash drive with windows ten and then will it wipe the memory on the drive or is there a way to keep it
I have only installed windows 7 on an amd once just to see how to get it working, but that was a fresh install. Easiest way to get windows 10 and not lose your data might be to get another drive to install windows 10 on. Someone like @celest horizon might know something else.
You'd have to "bake" the drivers into the install image with NTlite or something
That's what we do for XP on z390 etc
But is there a way to slipstream or get the drivers going on an install thats been moved from another system.
I would try and pick up a new boot drive like that $70 512GB wd black , install win 10 to that
Then pull files off the old drive with the 7 install
Put it back in the old system and do an in place upgrade with a build made with ntlite then move the drive again?
this is a situation I have seen a few times but never had to deal with myself
will rtx 2000 series cards drop price when the 3000 series comes out?
they will
but not much
will mostly affect the 2nd hand market
the retailers will try to sell them within reasonable range
so i shouldn’t wait for the 3000 series if i’m buying new?
yeah I think
alright thanks
there won't be like 2070 at the price of 2060 from retailers
they didn't even drop non-Super to Super
well yeah lol it's Black Friday
used pascal prices barely dropped until semi-recently (probably higher now tho cuz virus) so I doubt used turning will; drop much
@urban geode come here so that we dont lose track lol
ok
alright so whats going on with your wifi exactly
what is it doing or not doing
wym
like what is the issue your having
what is the speed you are supposed to get
450-500 mbs
ok go to testmy.net and run the test and tell me what speed youre getting
so like sometimes you get full speed and sometimes you dont?
ok
how far away is your wifi modem from your pc and how many walls between them?
has this always been a problem on your pc or is this recent
recent
ok you can right click your wifi in the bottom right and try clicking troubleshoot problems and see if that finds anything
Maybe the physical connection could be wack, maybe the antenna isn't screwed in all the way?
no
Damn
doesnt find anythibng
ok do you have wifi antennas on the back of your pc
(or are you using Ethernet?)
(s)he is using wifi
Kk
im not good at troubleshooting wifi problems but im trying 😛
(s)he is using wifi
@sacred obsidian "They" works for everybody
Lol I'm worse
no antennas
Uhh wut
but they also don't know what their wifi source is
You on laptop or desktop
do you happen to know what MOBO you have?
if i were to stream myself building my first pc, would anyone here watch? (i will definiely need help)
Naed prob would but no idea where naed went :(
As long as I'm awake at that time of day, probably
he comes and goes
Just come when you get an issue
big sad
what mobo is it
(is this laptop or desktop?)
(laptop it's very common to have those m.2 wifi cards)
ASUS TUF Z390-Plus Gaming (Wi-Fi) LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
desktop
Oh
That should have antennas
Where's your antennas
well antenna singular but still
this thing
yeah you should have that lol
o
check your mobo box
it might be in there you just missed it
but like
that would explain why the wifi is bad
ye
my wifi was good even before
cuz i didnt have those in
it started around a week ago
huh wut
i finish my build around 4 months ago
well i believe it can catch wifi signals without it but you def need em to get the full thing
do you still have the antenna?
yes
but antennas definally help pick up the signal
attach it and see if things change
yea
thank you mr111 i woulda completely glossed over the antenna factor 😛
I forgot about antennas at the start of my build lol
alright 🙂
if u guys are still here
I was getting like 5mb/s in the room across the hall
you can @ me if you need
opened the door and dragged the router into the hallway and the connection was actually decent ish
like 15mb/s
man i got a cheap wifi pcie adapter and its pretty much as good as ethernet for me. plus bluetooth is nice
before that ive used nothing but ethernet and usb wifi
usb wifi suuuuucks
280 has 40 more
240mm and 280mm?
one is slightly bigger
240mm uses 2 120mm fans, 280mm uses 2 140mm fans
owie
check "radiator support"
sometimes the "radiator support" exists on paper but in practice it just doesn't, like my case lol
newegg for the win
Hey guys Just built my first pc and I’m trying to make sure everything is all good with it. I’m having a problem with only 1 of my fans is lighting up...
are your fans all spinning? @eager flower
280mm if you have the fans pushing I believe
so it's a lighting problem, how do you have them wired for lighting>?
and are they ARGB or regular RGB?
They are just stock from a Corsair case lol so I have no clue
what case
Again just built it for the first time
Like my cable management is bad and everything atm. I’m just trying to make sure it’s all good lol
...but the case?
kk thats rgb
did your case come with a hub
or does the fans have 2 cables hanging off of em
looks like you need to hook up the RGB for each fan
either chaining them or splitting them
I'm guessing you only plugged in 1 RGB header for a single fan and that's why only 1 is lighting up
There is a splitter for all 3
Which is plugged in. But for some reason only 1 goes on
🤔
I’ll figure this out tmrw lol I’m pre tired after trying to learn how this all goes together😂
does it plug into a 3 pin or a 4 pin header?
But thanks anyways guys
open the lighting software that came with your motherboard
if they are ARGB and the LED count is set too low only some of the LEDs will light up
@eager chasm the case fans were rgb from what I sae
Three Included RGB Fans: Light up your system with three RGB LED fans, each boasting six customizable LEDs.
🤔 this line kinda reads like it's ARGB
could just be a BS statement
I just bought a fish tank, copper tubing and making a custom case for the fish tank with 2 480mm radiators with 3M liquid for the new pc
:O
Looking forward
Im waiting for the Ryzen 3900XT
Was about to get 10900K then I heard about the 3900xt beating single core and up to 4.8 ghz
With my cooling I should be able to overclock the hell of it
doubt it
the XT seems like the best bin in the stack
not something totally new
So I doubt there'd be much headroom for oc
I'd be amazed if they could actually hit what they say
Are you building a purge case a-la elmor? or?
We look at Elmor's EVC2 for external GPU voltage control, external BIOS flashing, and talk about liquid nitrogen gas cooling.
Ad: Buy Thermaltake's C360 Kit on Amazon (https://geni.us/LWNv5AW)
This was filmed at the GSkill booth at #Computex2019, where we ran into Elmor of El...
Hello everyone
I think you can squeez in a 5700
Rx?
yes let me see
nvm no you can't I did it a week ago the mobo I wanted is no longer onsale
Oh thats unfortunate
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q4LDdm but this is a different one
its 67 dollars over
but a 1660ti or super should work fine
Yeah I’m just trying to do my first build thanks
np
@near garden its just ad because the rx 5700 has a pretty large performance gap imo
Oh
the rx 5700 is about 2070 performance and you can alwasy flash it to make it near xt performance but I wouldn't recomend it. I could brick the card
Also ryzen refresh is coming out in a few month along with the new amd gpus and nvidia gpus
so if you can wait I recomend it
Yeah Il wait lol it’s just that i want to move on from my old pre built
ye but if you can wait wait because amd might be recking the gaming market too
Yeah well thanks bro i will be waiting see if those prices drop or sum
@near garden they for sure will when the new line of gpus come out
but again thats rumored for september
Should i go with the rx 5700 then ?
Oh eh il wait
thanks so much for the help @little leaf cya
np cya
Evga supernova 750 g2 gold fully modular. I'm planning to build a mag x570 tomahawk with ryzen 5 3600x, please is that a suitable power supply?
I can't send a picture don't know why
@river locust you have to be level 3 to send picture
what are other components?
anw, that one's a good psu
I just don't know why you want 750w
Don't know just planned for future upgrades
16 yes
even future upgrade
unless you're going for sth like top of the line
650 is probably just fine
The gpu is rtx 2070 super
yeah, 650 is enough
but 750 for efficiency curve is also fine
sounds like you have the budget for it
a good rated 650 will do fine
so i don't think there's any problem
I'm just struggling to find a good psu these days, most of them are +1000 watt and overpriced
That's in Newegg and Amazon
Anyway thank you
Yes I saw that
yeah it looks like psu is running out of stock left and right
@river locust how much is that G2?
180 in Newegg
Just ordered it with delivery it costed around 230
Yes delivery fee is so much, I'm outside USA
Base cost is overpriced. 750w of that quality is like $125
Yes
@shy otter
Can you guys recommend a good buy cheap power supply?
CX used to be
What wattage and what budget
if 450, the CX 450 is still decent price
Yep if its 450w, then CX450 is ur best bet
Well it’s for my sons pc. It has the i7-3770 and a gtx 1050ti
CX450 will be great for that
It has pro550w in it now but it’s just a mess. It has so many cords that aren’t used and I can’t take them off either 🤦🏼♀️
I bought it used and this is what it came with
I have i7-4790, and I want GTX 1650 Super, planning on getting the CX450
Perfect!
ah cables lol
Corsair CX is very nice quality. Good for lots of occasions
hey Im also thinking getting the 1650 super... did you find any good deals?
CX450 isn't modular, so there'll still be cables, but it's a lower wattage part so it doesn't have as many extra cables
look on B&H @tepid dove
Would I be better off just sticking with this one?
We got a new case so the case we had bought for ours we’re gonna put his pc in so I’m moving stuff around but it’s the first time I’ve opened it up
ok.. so far the best deal I found on amazon Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 Super Windforce OC 4G for $160
that's the ideal price imo
agreed
Anyone know what the intruder cord is on a dell mobo?
It had a cord hooked into it
I think it can work without it
Ah
Must just be a dell proprietary thing
Hmm
I hope I can move this to the other case 🤦🏼♀️
Test the system without it. If it works, great. If not, sad face
F
Hello i need help finding the correct compatible processor to upgrade my computer
I have an SkyTech Azure - Gaming Computer PC Desktop – Ryzen 5 1600 6-Core 3.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB, 500G NVMe PCIe SSD, 16GB DDR4, AC WiFi, Windows 10 Home 64-bit (16GB Version), reference link and I would like to upgrade the processor probably to a rysen 7 o rysen 9 but idk which to buy since there are so many, I found the MoBo to be model ASRock A320M-HDV
Could always dangle the sensor in the new case
Then it looks like you can only have a 65w TDP processor
I'd just stick with the Ryzen 1600. It's still good
And the RTX 2060 versions are out of stock
This is what is worrying me. This is the pwr sw and on the new case it’s a much smaller hookup/cord
Can make one as well
I’m thinking he’s gonna need a motherboard upgrade soon lol 🤦🏼♀️ this I’m guessing is some standard dell
Yeah
Any recommendations on an intel mobo? I’ve only ever looked at amd
For what CPU?
i7-3700 I think?
Is it a K?
K definitely matters
Yea it’s a k
You could pick up a z77 board or something off ebay for $50
IDK if they're going for that cheap
Idk man Forks is eBay wizard
First time building, so looking for advice on my this. Don’t know if I could potentially save or add performance anywhere. Put this together myself so go easy on me lol. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GjNPWb
You don't need a maximus V extreme to run, or even put a decent air OC on a 3770k
What would you recommend?
Mines the same price as the first one you linked right now, shouldn’t I just go for it?
At what price?
@cursive wharf PSU tier list got updated, they got rid of the A- , A+, and S tier, move a ton of things around, and have just the PSUs with issues grayed instead of in a separate tier (A-)
I host servers on mc and my frame rate is horrible like 16fps I am ordering a new graphics card but I’m not sure what will go with the ryzen 9 3950x the best any price works
...any price works what
if you want the best of the best, A100 xDDDD
A100 might only be sold to servers tho, not consumers :p
@mighty sapphire well seeing as I can't quote your posts with pictures, here goes, that is a Dell intrusion switch, you can run with out it, however the system will generally complain, (at least ones equipped with one do) but you can press a key to continue booting, if you go into BIOS you should be able to disable the intrusion protection functions and turn off the switch so you can leave it unplugged, all it serves is to alert you if the case is open, or has been tampered with in some way
@pastel briar thank you!! That’s kind of what I was guessing it would be with how the switch was. Definitely good to know! I think he’s gonna get an upgrade soon lol this may just get passed down to his little brother haha
what ever works for you guys, I just want to make sure you have the knowledge so you can be informed 🙂
Uh, pretty sure that just goes to the power switch + it's led and the hdd led next to it.
Intrusion switch is a separate 2 pin somewhere else on the board.
Intrusion detection will won't interrupt boot ime - but disconnected case fans, or a USB/front panel header will.
Just have to hit f2
Will won't
Also that board looks exactly like an Optiplex 7010 LA board. Q67 express
Forks knows his Optiplex :p
@stoic island not too surprised. Knew a major update change was coming
Also what is that brand name tho?
B+ tier
@stoic island @sacred obsidian ty for the help yesterday
214.6
Mbps download
11.4
Mbps upload
getting better results

@celest horizon
you may want to look at the pictures again, the connector (board side) is ladled "intruder" and is generally where the intrusion switch will get plugged into (the item pictured in the second picture)
I only saw the 3rd pic
hey guys when will amds drivers on gpus viable?
i think they are stable now
they have been for a while now
look at #graphics-cards
@celest horizon fair enough 🙂
Hey guys so I’m getting no signal too my tv and now for some reason after doing some troubleshooting methods my front fans and gpu fans aren’t working??
have you checked your TV's input settings (checked your on the correct input?) tested with on board GPU (if applicable)?
Okay I fixed my fans problem I redid some cables and put my memory in again and now it’s working
But still no signal goes to the tv and it’s on the right input, cables are all in properly etc lol
Just make sure you USB drive is blank except for the BIOS file. Asrock BIOS downloads are usually a .zip file, so extract it first, and copy the .rom file onto the USB stick. Then just do what I said above.
@slate ice awesome thanks, saved for when I need it
Sorry again guys I figured it out it was my monitor loll
Matrexx 55 V3 case, w 6 UP Here fans controlled by MSI X470 Pro Carbon an MSI Mystic Lite
My biggest complaint about the Deep Cool Matrexx 55 is when you mount the fans back into the chassis (instead of having them choked off up against the glass) you can see all the cross bars of the frame in front of the RGB... booooo
guiz just to confirm: I can safely have the PSU installed in case, plugged in, switched Off,
while working on other components inside the case, with no risks, correct ? 👀
@copper mason yes
I need suggestions for an epic gamer case.
I want to do a reverse sleeper pc for my Dual Socket Pentium 3 server.
@radiant scaffold budget?
Uhh, lets just say no more than $100
to house this bad boy
ugh, i can't post links
It's rocking 4GB's of pc100 ram
😎
noice
@radiant scaffold Fractal Design Focus G
i have an old Asus G51Vx that has 4gb DDR2
it still runs surprisingly well despite being a decade old
Same here, mines from 1999 lol.
It actually can still run minecraft
I found a gt430 pci card
which is sad
it had better performance on vista
windows 10 is just bad
and i forgot to create a system image on vista
i was gonna upgrade the asus to windows 10 and downgrade my old dell to windows vista that way
I keep all my old builds on XP, but vista was unique in it's own way
I'm running ubuntu server on mine
For my personal RIG and first build:
ROG Helios Case & Vertical Riser
Full HydroX Custom Cooling Loop
Intel i9-9900K Processor
3 TBs of NVMe storage
8 TBs of SSDH storage
3 TBs NAS HDD storage
64 GBs of Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz
Seven LL series Corsair Fans in concert with the stock case fans
AX1200i 1200w PSU
Dual Predator QHD 144Hz IPS Displays
K95 RGB Platinum XT Keyboard
Dark Core SE Mouse
RGB Mousepad
Custom ambient lighting controlled by iCue
Full CableMod Extension Set and Sata Cables
A bunch of custom stickers to cover up fan labels
Think that's a solid steal 🙂
Buy all that new and you'd easily spend 7k
Imma send more pics, benchmarks, and make some forum posts once some final aesthetic bits and new thermal paste comes
dang
@slate ice What power supply did you use in that build you posted?
Seasonic 520watt.
S12iii?
SS520GB
What’s a good case for first time builders? Full or mid tower?
@potent prairie Are you doing machine learning lmao?
What do you need 64GB's for
In retrospect I should have gone with 32 and higher speed, but so I can have 50+ tabs open in multiple browsers, have multiple games open, and use illustrator at the same time and have some ram left over 🙂
That is soooo overkill man lol
I have 32GB and I can't find a way to use it all. So I made an 8GB ram drive. I have 2 games minimized that im not playing right now, and 5 instances of firefox.
That's going to be a sick build though
@potent prairie I just tallied up all your items new on newegg
its actually cheaper
and its all new
This one includes tax. That was the abriviated list. I wouldn't doubt that you can get the base specs for less
The HydroX loop is $900 alone on Corsair, which is the only place you can find everything
Yeah, they're really pricey
I'll spec out how much I would have paid new in a wee bit
You put thermal paste on?
~60 sounds normal if your room is warm
But my system is randomly restarting
Not even under load
yeah
Have you messed with any settings or xmp or anything?
Any rgb desktop case that is looking cool?
@little osprey Look into the Coolermaster TD500 mesh, most people perfer the white version, the Phanteks P400a digital (out of stock right now), and Corsair iCUE 220T
I would prefer black
@stoic island I did XMP, but everythings good now
kk
I removed and installed the cpu
might've had bad contact on the cpu or smth
kk
wth is game mode on rgb fusion 2.0 btw
@stoic island whats a good benchmark other than 3dmark
k
@little osprey If you don't mind less then ideal cooling and have the budget, the ROG helios is a looker
@radiant scaffold
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Nightwielder/saved/2TVy4D
This is slightly outdated list of parts for my rig that already is over 6k with current prices 🙂
Getting the Ryzen 9 3900x for my build looking for a good mother board for gaming that’s mid range price $200 to $400 any ideas?
Oh lol that’s dang good
Budget
Give me a sec
I did kinda the lower side for these 2
High end one that’s in stock rn
@flat robin
Do I really need the pice 4.0 tho
I was looking at the crosshair for awhile but I just can’t make up my mind lol all the reviews I watch or read they all seem to have there up sides and down sides really I just want it to be able to handle all the games I play at full max I’m going to get the 2070 super gpu and have at least 2tb ssd
Gives it more transferring
But if I were you at that budget why the heck not
You can get a board for 170 and it will be better than most peoples
Anything over that is a overkill i would say
Personally I would save and get rgb
Stuff
If ya like flashy
ive put it in the buget for about 400 on board just dont wanna spend over kill on it ya know but dont wanna have to be upgrading in 5 or 6 years
Should be fine just get a x570 and it’ll be good to upgrade to zen 2 I think too
i have intel now but thinking ima go to ryzen smart move you think??
well from what ive read on ryzen has intel beat right now
But the thing is you can get the i9 10900k with the budget u have just maybe and a z390 or whatever board supports the socket
I’m not that knowledgeable for the new intel 10th gen
Yea i ain’t read up on that but I don’t ever like buying stuff when they first get released
Amd is the way tho
Yeah it’s most expensive then
Maybe get a 3950x since you would have the budget with the board if your up for it
That’s what I was thinking seems like there sockets stay the same so hoping later on down the road i don’t have to upgrade it all to upgrade
anyone have a list under $870
Yeah x570 should be fine for zen 2
Sure
Give me a min I might be able to I might not give me a min
I have one I just need ideas
Ok I was gonna get the gaming WiFi but heard some horror story’s on it
In process of building an HTPC that will mostly be used for Plex. Should I get a cheaper gpu and get something like the Ryzen 1600 AF or should I get a Ryzen G chip
I have someone in my area selling a 1050 ti that I'd probably use as the GPU
get the 3100 or 3300x
I'm not sure the Ryzen 3 chips make sense here though. Plex is heavily transcoding based, which the 1600 AF out performs in, and is currently available for less
Is this a good custom gaming pc
Case: NZXT H510i Case $100
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x $ 330
CPU Cooler: Cool master Masterliquid ML 120L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $65
Motherboard: MSI MPG x570 Gaming Pro Carbon WIFI $250
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 5600 xt $280
Power Supply: NZXT E850 $164
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB Kit $75
Storage: Inland Premium SSD 512GB $67
Case fans: 4x Corsair LL Series 120mm Case Cooling Fan with RGB lighting $ 160
@old holly is that a 120mm water cooler?
are u trying to sell it?
or what is that
yea its a 120
I personally think a 240MM would be better for that cpu
especially if u are thinking of overclocking
It's unbalanced :p
Wym
get a ryzen 3600 and 5700 xt
The motherboard costs almost as much as your graphics card
a B450 mobo will do just fine
Yea
those cost less and have about the same features
So I should save some money and spend the extra on a better gpu?
yes
Okay
you dont need a 850w psu, you can get a b450 mobo or wait for b550, swap the ssd for a mp34, i'd save money and get cheaper rgb fans, and swap the cpu cooler to a mugen 5 rev b or keep the stock cooler
yuh
I'd do 3600+gammax gt+MSI B450 pro carbon max wifi+5700xt+RM650x+3600cl16 ripjaw v kit+Mp34 512gb+TD500 mesh case
Too lazy on mobile to make a list
Nachos can you slap that into pcpp?
bruh its 1:30am
Same
@old holly also AMD takes advantage of higher clocked Ram
yoo 3600 down under 170
But trust me
That combo I said is good
Also look into the TD500 mesh case @old holly
Great looking rgb, don't even need to buy extra rgb fans
I definitely will
For 100$
@stoic island is the TD500 what u have?
So an 850 W PSU is overkill?
basically
o
He's loving it
ew is Team SSD even good?
Yes
yeah
It's very very good
who supplies their chips?
like samsung?
@deep skiff also that 650W is over priced
Toshiba
Can you find better ;)
eh prolly not but ill do a quick search
Arnt many good options around
the psu market is really messed up rn
and spending 30% more for a rmx isnt really a smart idea in my mind
It was 125$ earlier today
cheapest one is 135 rn
@old holly take a look here
#build-pics message
okay im actually going to sleep this time for real

Motherboards are usualy either made for only one ram stick (which I will never reccomend) two ram sticks, or four ram sticks for a normal sized Mobo. Motherboards take advantage of dual channel memory which means that if you only have two ram sticks you can put them in their special slots and it ups performance. If you aren't putting the ram in their slots then that boost in speed is gone @upper verge
Well, the Mobo I was supposed to get fried when my friend tested it to make sure it worked
So I got a cheapo from Best Buy along with a USB wifi adapter
Oh well
@ripe wedge gn
Does anybody know if I can put an ATX gpu on a mini ATX motherboard
You can if your case is big enough for it
Alright thank you, it is btw
Awesome. Take care
U 2
Yo, iv been looking into gaming pc and I want to start off with a good pc around 500 that can be built on in the future. Any good entry level pc with good specs you guys can suggest?
I do have to warn you though @exotic trellis , PC part prices are very bad right now becuase of the virus so it is hard to build on a budget
Usa Cali
@fast dust the 9100f is only $60
I'm assuming you're a beginner, right?
Yessir
A bunch
ok
People make it sound harder than it actually is
you just have to plug all of your components in
Buy motherB, ram, case, ssd, that core thingy, power supply
Yeah...
Do you know about the website pcpartpicker.com?
No i have not but ill check it out
Wait
Okay
Oh cool TY!
np
Also one thing
Iv been playing on my apple mac with a max of 40 fps. So a great wipping 60 - 100 would make it great. Iv been playing on low settings since my first computer. So a mid range pc parts would be great.
Could probably get a Ryzen 3100 + RX 570 or 1650S build
@fast dust HBU make a list as well. I usually choose amd, but the 9100f is really cheap right now.
You could make a team red one and i can make team blue
I wish the 9100f supported faster ram
I think amd will end up being WAY more upgradable
What makes me look at my wallet even more is that, this isnt including a monitor. But cant I use a tv instead? A hdmi adaptor?
Well
yeah you can use a TV
A TV is fine, but you'll be limited to 60hz
Wait @exotic trellis does this include a mouse and keyboard?
Or maybe just pick up cooler master devastators
They're pretty cheap
It's a keyboard-mouse combo
Master devastators. I'll check that out when I decide to upgrade. Thanks for the suggestion though
This is what I got
A little over $500 though
And also the Ryzen 3100 is on pre-order so
Not bad but how will he update the bios?
Also, that hdd isn't the greatest
he can get in contact with AMD and they will send him a CPU to update the BIOS
Yeah ik but it's where I had to cheap out becuase of the budget @formal plover
Pricey
or drop the ssd and get a 2tb hdd for $50

I still use a hard drive for my laptop and I hate it
I keep trying to tell them to get an SSD
I just bought an SSD for it
but to no avail
get a used 570, put money into storage
^
or 3300x instead of 3100
Yeah
you could do that @exotic trellis
I'm almost done with my list wait a sec
I'm all about getting used stuff
Which case should I use?
@exotic trellis wait for my list
No usually people get an SSD to put windows on and a Hard Drive for whatever else
Or just an SSD
SSDs are faster, but more expensive
Some people get a smaller capacity ssd to put their games and OS on and a large capacity hdd for everything else
Ah I see
I think this may be better than the amd build
cause you don't have a cpu to update the bios with
for the amd build
@formal plover did good. CPU is eh, but it's cheap and the motherboard is cheap
yeah
a z390 board would be much better
cause you can overclock and use faster ram
The SSD iirc isn't the best, but it's better than a hard drive I guess
but z390 is at least $130
Okay so I looked at both lists
I have that ssd in my system and it's decent
@formal plover you could have gotten slower ram because doesnt intel only use 2666MHz?
I kinda dont know...which id use for preferance or if id buy because I dont know whats good and whats reliable
The AMD list has better CPU performance, but the intel list is pretty well rounded
Alrighty
Right now the prices are MUCH higher than they usually are
I'd say go with Intel list unless somethong on it goes OOS
Can someone make me a list my budget is $650
Once the prices get back to usual, you will get much better performance for that price
Gotchu @coarse musk
Ty
@coarse musk dm me
I want it to run league of legends and rainbow six siege
That should be easy
Sounds good, ty for the help @fast dust @formal plover
np
np
@coarse musk https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zfKctp
This will be able to run Rainbox six and LoL very very well
Well LoL is made to run off of a toaster
The only mainstream game that requires less, that I can think of, is CS:GO
So if you can run R6S, you can run LoL
@little osprey TT Smart 80+ PSUs are an IED. Cancel the order and get smth else. Antec NeoECO Gold Zen, Xilence Performance X, Corsair CX, Corsair CXM (you'll probs have to play RMA game to get one without coil whine as this PSU has a common chance to have coil whine issues)
those are some decent PSUs that have stock usually
Any recommendations on a 1080p 144hz monitor for around £200?
does anyone know what parts increases fps
the fps parts
so like, if my most petfirmance heavy task is gaming, and audio recording which relys on single thread, should i go intel or go with ryzen and 2 more cores?
what GPU, CPU, RAM do you have?
id sacrifice some single thread if my cpu lasts longer in terms of usability though
i have 8 gig ram and like 8 cpus altogether i havent checked my gpu
It really grinds my gears when someone gets a TT smart
hey guys I'm gonna get a thermaltake smart any suggestions on which one so I can burn my computer most optimally
Hey, I'm very new to PC gaming and have been doing research for weeks trying to find the best parts for a PC that can run Rust at 1080p at med-high settings getting around 90fps. I currently have a ryzen 5 3600 cpu, a b450 tomahawk Max ATX motherboard, 16 GB of RAM, and an rtx 2070 super GPU. If you have any recommendations or comments that could help me I'd appreciate it, thank you
I'm getting a Samsung ssd
Ok, thank you
WD Black ftw. Much cheaper.
true
Yea
just use finger
or IO shield
@radiant socket use pcpartpicker
@stoic island i am
Link your list?
I dmed it to you
whats the easiest way to find the price of some parts, as im being told im getting a deal but im unsure if thats true
Pcpartpicker usually, but disable Best buy in your preferences
best buy sucks with stock and pricing on pcpp
pcpartpicker is usually good but has some wonky things that say in stock that arent
Also, what do you mean you are being told you are getting a deal?
We can tell you, just show us what your buying and for how much
can i dm to show you the parts?
my board has a 6-pin Graphics 12V Power connector
that's only needed when you need extra power for multiple GPUs right ?
On PCPP, it shows External Power: 1 8-pin PCIe for my GPU
meaning I won't need to add power to the board's 6-pin, correct ?
Wait
your motherboard has a 6 pin graphics connector..?
@stoic island ya it does xD
I think it's to provide extra power in case needed, like if there were 4 GPUs or something
guiz could anyone please skim ma assembly steps draft,
would be super appreciated on how I could improve it
(make it even more overkill 😂 jk, you could just ignore the 1st section which was meant for lulz hah)
drive google com/file/d/17J3rfGdOnmme_H_xslQqqCznQMIyQ0rN/view?usp=sharing
sorry I had to do that since links are all blocked here
what board is it
@stoic island X399 Taichi for ThreadRippers
Lots of high end boards have a 6 pin pcie power header on the mobo to help power multi gpu.
interesting
thanks Forks for the confirmation
ya
