yea i ordered strictly on newegg too, if not for the current world issues id probably have looked at amazon too, done some price comparisons etc. I probably may have spent a tad more in the end, but at the same time overall i spent like 990$ upfront, the rest of my cost was taxes an shipping upping it to around 1070. overall though im happy with the performance vs the cost, since i had to buy a full build not just upgrade. so now once i have money again i can pay to upgrade certain stuff an still have the rest

My mother board uses Aura sync by asus.
My fans, keyboard and mouse use Cue by Corsair.
Then the cpu wrath prism uses whatever it uses.

Personally I keep one USB 8GB 3.0 drive from Sandisk that I use as my boot Windows installer drive because it's USB 3.0, then I use another drive that is a Samsung 3.1 (128GB) for transferring all of my files from one computer to another. I deal with a lot of video files so I need 3.1 but you could get away with 3.0 just fine. All depends if your computer has a 3.0 port.

Whatever you do be sure you plug a USB 3.0 drive in a USB 3.0 or 3.1 port.
You can plug a USB 3.0 drive into USB 2.0 but you won't get full USB 3.0 speed due to limitations of the USB 2.0 port.

@glass swift depending on your build a good rule of thumb is to get at least 80% above your rated power requirement, some brands I have had good luck with (though most of these are either Tier 1 or Tier 2 PSUs anyways) are Corsair CX series (if I need something that fits in the budget range but gives me good quality), Silverstone, and currently run a Corsair SF 550W PSU (IIRC its a platinum)

For more on what I am talking about as far as the tier list is concerned (the higher the tier the better Tier S being the really good ones and Tier 1 being the top end, and going down to Tier 5 or 6 (T6 just stay away from these please) you can visit https://www.gamingscan.com/psu-hierarchy/ and https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40/

also reason why I say stay away from the Tier 6 PSUs (note if there are any more tiers beyond Tier 6 they also are being included in the stay away warning) is pictured above. As for any psu decision please make sure you get a quality psu, don’t cheap out or worse don’t get one of the Chinese IEDs

@glass swift the corsair ram has 16-18-18-36 timings and the crucial has 16-16-16-39 timings

so I think the crucial will perform very very slightly better but I'm not 100% sure on that
