no problem at all :)
and its easy for me to find for future refrence
@little osprey there is the o11 dynamic xl
probably 5700
5700XT would work right
@little osprey just realised you got a titan rtx
That single piece is worth more than my whole setup will be.
ya XT would allow higher settings
with the 5700 you would probably have to turn the settings down a bit to like high on modern games
Vamps pls donate your titan to me
@upper condor its a workstation rig so my cpu is proby worth more than your setup
3990x upgrade will be tho D :
i already have mine paid for at local retailer who getting shipment
Anyone know about my ram support question
No sorry
still looking for new case tho
@dapper sinew give me a moment
Thanks. @foggy hazel
@little osprey you are the one that posted in #links-and-selfpromotion a number of hours ago ?
@little osprey
ryzen has better 1% lows and is cheaper plus a cheaper mobo. unless you are streaming the 5700 XT is better value. kept all your rgb stuff but switched the ram to corsair so you could sync it with your fans, but you can change that back if you'd like although adata doesnt have 3200 speed ram
@teal bison my Mobo isn't compatible with amd
oh i figured you were buying that all new
didnt know you already had some of the parts
the mobo I'm getting isn't compatible
the only hardware/software I have on hand is the storage and os
so you have already bought the mobo then?
oh well im saying that the 3600/b450 is better value than the i5/z390
true, but then I'd have to get a different Mobo
oh sorry, didn't see the link
sorry to butt in, I have a question about the b450 with a 3600. Does the b450 need a bios update to use the 3600?
I was looking at the 3600 recently
there's a lot of compatibility issues with that build dragocor
if the stock is old then yes, but the tomahawk max is guaranteed to have the bios updated
A LOT
@thorny wing depends on the age of the stock. in general, just ask the retailer about it, they will be happy to tell you.
@little osprey nothing weird about those. they are not something to worry about.
the red warning isnt correct, and ill try to find a shorter gpu if you need the drive bays
ty guys 😄
@thorny wing added benefit of asking the retailer is that IF you get sent something that doesnt work (because it has an old bios) you have the answer from the retailer, which helps speed up the return process
sometimes PC part picker is wonky about sizes. I fit a H7 with 145mm height in a thermaltake core v1 that supposedly only supports up to 140mm. The website tells me it wont fit, but it does with like ~2mm to spare
good point naed
because funky things can happen in a warehouse :)
warehouses aren't delicate, I've seen 😦
consumers underestimate how much of a beating their "precious" parts can take
I dropped my ram in its box, I was so scared LOL
:)
no problems though
if you want to see a consumer get white in the face from fear, just slap them with their newly purchased 4tb 2.5inch ssd
ooooh I like these m.2 drives a lot, I've only known about them for like a year
mind, i am not talking about a m.2 :)
and yes, m.2 are nice
makes cabling etc much cleaner
I know haha, I was so excited to not need extra cables
..... there was a seal over the M.2 drive's screw hole that I definitely wasn't smarter than
:)
I thought for sure that the threads were messed up on the screw, my eyes are getting older
:)
if I take an hhd from my laptop that has windows 10 64 bit home on it and put it on a different Mobo, will it still work properly?
trying to save money lol
ya it should @little osprey
@teal bison @little osprey will he have to update the drivers in safe mode if he plans on booting from it?
i wouldnt imagine but i dont really know
So, my grandparents need a new PC. They got an old PCGHIA-1021 from who knows when, and asked me to get them a new one. My original plan was to simply build a low-mid range PC so I can game a bit when I'm over visiting them and call it a day, but it ocured me... Is it possible to build a Low Profile PC inside the old Ghia chasis??
My main concern is the Mobo and the GPU
Mainly video stuff and my younger cousins like to use it as well to try to game a bit
but maybe your grandparents are hardcore gamers i dont judge
XD
what kind of games do the like to play?
I'm building it more for me and my cousins, and my grandparents know it. And Fortnite is the main one
Maybe I'd download a bit of my Steam library so they could try other stuff
and what is your budget?
Don't really have one
oh ok so 2080ti and 3990x?
LMAO
jk lol
ok wow thats a lot more than i was expecting
yeah that's a healthy budget lol
What I'm most interested in is if I can build it in the old chasis
I'm not good at modding
USD right? not like Zimbabwe dollars?
you can get the mobo into that case, I can't find pictures of the back of it lol
USD, yeah
unless they're all proprietary
i assume they have the sff case?
do you know the gpu clearance?
on their webpage they have a gpu in it that is 146mm so i assume its probably just over that but idk if they just got a gpu that happened to be small
Mine didn't come with a GPU. It has the regular 70mm LP Expansión Slot
well i figure we'd upgrade the mobo anyways but is there a way for you to measure the length from one side of the case to the other?
245? from side to side right?
Yeah
I mean, total is about 380mm, but as I said, the PSU blocks some of that space so the free one is 245
Not sure. Probably 1080p, 60FPS at Medium
Was considering one of the GTX1650 LP GPUs
oh really? ok we can definately go a lot lower than 1500 if you want, or if you want to try to get the most performance that you can we can do that too
But since I'm not even sure what kind of Mobo I can put in since I don't know if it's mATX or ITX size...
1500 was for a new build
do you know if that motherboard is proprietary? because if it is you would probably have to do some modding or just get a new case
I was considering something like an mATX B450 Mobo, a Ryzen 5 2600X, 16GB kit of RAM, an M.2 SSD, the GTX 1650 Low Profile GPU and a Corsair SF600
G41T-M7 (V1.0)
This is the OG mobo
ok but you dont mind getting a new case?
that mobo is mATX
I don't mind a new case. Just thought it would be a fun project to try to build it inside of the old case
Yeah, it says it's an mATX but for some reason I have my doubts... It looks more compact than other mATX I've seen
Usually mATXs are more square, this is more of a rectangle
yeah it looks pretty elongated
yeah, it's 225mm x 170mm
idk if you can do it without some modding
You know, now that I look at the case, it does seem to include the mounting holes for a full 244x244mm mATX
It's just that they were in a hollow part under the 5" bay
But they are there, just that the space actually goes below it
and do you live in the US?
Its alright if you dont want to answer just some parts may not be available/may be more expensive
Those 3 mounting holes
what's that white square under the G41T?
I've seen them before, have no idea what they are
heat sink
ahhh
tell me what you think
oh you wanted an nvme tho
ill put that in the list
also do you want new fans?
get some RGB for grandma and grandpa :P
Live in Mexico. I'm used to parts being way more expensive, but lately we've been getting them at more reasonable
Fans are the only thing I'm worried. It only has an 80mm fan space, tho the whole GPU part is meshed on the side so it can pull fresh air from there
I like iCUE, my home PC is corsair themed
so it can only hold 1 fan?
(little cheating secret, I'm considering buying a Ryzen 5 3600 and using my 2600 for this new PC)
lol i mean it would work
Yeah, only one fan, but a lot of mesh like EVERYWHERE
do you have the 1600 AF available over there? or are you just going to give them your 2600?
it retails for $85 but i dont think it is in mexico
I was planning on I clouding the 3600X in the To-Buy list of the new PC, keep it, and give them my 2600 after upgrading my MOBO bios to be able to run the 3600X
*including
dayum
110$ for a 450w psu?
if you just want a good PSU from corsair
go like RMx 550w
it doesn't make much difference
apparently it does
he has a sff case
ah
ik
theres no case in the list and I just clicked on it soooo
and it was the cheapest one that had a good rating in the psu tier list
other than the gold version which was $2 cheaper
well
I go in chat
I click pcpp link
I critique
lol all good
thats the ASRock board with updated bios right
well its kinda complicated but he will be using that board with a 2600
basically this parts list is for his family members and he wants to upgrade his cpu from the 2600 so he will just give that to him
the hdv rev 4?
sorry gotta go
yea
The PC part looks good, tho I would change the M.2 to 500 since I already got in this PC a 1TB 7200RPM. And that GPU is not Low Profile, but the one I saw it's also on 160USD so it doesn't matter in price
Yeah, I know. The thing is, the PC is for my grandparents for normal stuff in the week, and for me and my cousins to game a bit on the weekends we go to visit them, so I don't want to invest thaaaaat much where I don't need it
If it were my PC, yeah, NVME without a doubt
ick why is nvme drives so expensive
Is the aurous b450 or the Asus tuf b450 motherboard better?
Plugged in usb which lights up for a second or two. Ethernet thing on mobo also blinks when plugged in
PC wont start after I changed case. All the parts are same. Any ideas for trouble shooting?
make sure all the cables are plugged in correctly
(bc changing case usually means relocating PSU)
They are. I'm unscrewing mobo right now to see if case came with metal standoff already installed or not. Hopefully not cause i found some in the screws bag
Nvm that. They're already there
I got a new CPU today :3
nice
@teal bison Corsair PSU is a bit better, but idk if it's worth the extra over this EVGA
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QgyV3C/evga-supernova-gm-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-sfx-power-supply-123-gm-0550-y1
yeah now that i look at it i would agree. going off of the psu list, its in the same tier as the corsair. earlier i was looking for supernova, not gm so i didnt even find it on the list so i didnt want to recommend a potentially harmful psu
I mean so long as you know what you're doing G3 wont hurt you
Two protections that wont go off if you do dumb stuff
like load 800w on a 550w PSU
G5 just has bad performance for the price
ok good to know
But yeah, I very rarely recommend EVGA standard size as their pricing tbh isnt good. SFX has a good price tho
what do you think about their BR psus?
too cheap
Does anyone k ow if the aurous b450 or the Asus tuf b450 motherboard better?
Atx or micro atx? @thick helm
How much would y’all pay for this:
i3 9350KF
Thermaltake NiC CPU cooler
Asrock phantom gaming matx mobo
16 gb ddr4 2666MHz ram
Gigabyte G1 GTX 980
250 gb ssd 1tb hdd
600w 80+ br psu
Cooler master masterbox matx case
@little osprey 375 to 450
550 would be a little too much for that since there are people that could spend about the same thing but have a Ryzen 5 1600 with a RX 580 for about that much and would perform better
Got to remember that the GTX 980 non Ti model performs just like the GTX 1060 6gb/RX 580
there's no "+" to upload photos in the #build-pics area
Keep talking to rank up to become a regular
SMH! lol i need to play this like an RPG and level up? wow
yep
you mean leve
level
and i believe 3
I believe the reason for this is because of there being too many trolls out in the internet and it would be flooded with troll pictures
i see
so my dual slot gpu covers my pcie x1 slot, and i was wanting to upgrade from a USB wifi adapter to something a bit more well equipped. I would like to use a x1 riser and mount the WiFi card lower, but im not entirely sure if this is the way to go, or if theres a better solution.
@little osprey fix those cables and also i hope you're using a SSD for the main drive
The way those cables are right now could block important airflow and yes i can see them well
finally, theres my build
If you are only gaming you won't need a NVMe
there is really no performance difference in gaming between sata and nvme
i went with a 500gb nvme a 500gb ssd and i got a 1tb hdd
i have a 240gb, 480gb, 1tb SSD and a 2TB SSHD
240 for OS and apps, 480 for little and light games, 1tb for Steam and demanding games and 2tb for files
Minimum now a days for boost would be 240gb
i used 120gb once and really it fills up fast
If using Ryzen 2000 series with a B450 board you can use StoreMI and merge the 120gb SSD with your 1tb HDD
pretty much you would have the mass storage but when playing games it would use the SSD
Hybrids drives are pretty good they are a step below a SSD of course but last longer than a HDD
i was thinking baout getting the seagate firecuda gaming one. but i was unsure
YouTube StoreMI for more information about it cause i only know so much
All of my hard drives that i consider dying are at 60%
which i use them as externals only
cause for external use you're not killing it fast
there are plenty of atx boards under 100
depends on the quality though
are you planning on overclocking?
@thick helm
If you have dirt in your cpu socket watch this to clean it
@foggy hazel best tutorial ever
imo, not something to joke about.
Please never do that it will ruin your mob
@winged delta not rn but I may over clock later in the year
there really is not much to gain for it
it requires an investment (cooler etc) that imo is more sensible to spend on other components
@thick helm if looks don't matter to you than definitely go for the aorus mATX board
K thx
But is rheee a big difference in performance between the 2 boards? @winged delta
There*
Reason: Bad word usage
????
@winged delta ok thanks!
@foggy hazel can you help me
@little osprey what do you even do as a job
I know you have a killer workstation, but what do you use it for
visuals effects for studio why?
Idk seems kinda overkill for anything
not really
titan is getting switch out for quadros 4 gv100s soon and 3970x for 3990x
key thing i don't studio dose
yeah why?
the studio i work for all i do is fix cuts and effects and render it out than send it over to render farm
for final render
Ahhh makes sense then
his machine is not crazy at all
dont ask for some of the software license prices (unless that has changed in the industry @little osprey ?)
nope its even worse
This is really funny to read
"High end" is just a pcie gpu
Technology is cool
also known as time that has passed, also known as history
when @foggy hazel means pocket change he not lying either @upper condor
I do
it is SILLY amounts of money
company work render farm is well over 150m
software cost start at 125k a year or more
Well uh my place is much more fancy I bet
plus one of my quadros gv1000's is 9k each @upper condor just time that 4
plus add 3990x into mix
plus another 2k in ram
than times that 25 times that with over 1000 artist
because of Labors and IT admin fixing
ok good for me
if have questions i can answer than i will
@foggy hazel can help you under cost of workstation too
I re-evaluated how much I actually need to enjoy playing and realized 2k is too much
@upper condor iirc, your last linked machine has visual and performance
skip all the visual ... waste ...
or play more interesting games
then you wont notice that you have a nice black box without rgb
Changed it again
Now its gonna be super ugly but perform well for cheap
And then more games
Can be bought
?
I didn't, it must've come like that
does it work before?
Nah, it's in my new pc
rma it
yes paypal covers it
It technically came with the motherboard
This was almost 2 months ago lol
you dint check it ? they might use that against you
It's fine, replacements are like $16
ow
I couldn't check it
i thought it cost a tons of money
you can replace it by replacing chips?
Well, this particular card is like 120, but there is a cheaper one for 16
The one I have has features I'll never use, so the downgrade isn't an issue
To replace the chip would cost about $3400
Because minimum order quantity is 696
So i think i'm done upgrading my PC until I am ready to build a 100% new one. I got a i7-8700k, MSI Z390 gaming plus mobo, MSI Ventus 2070 super, Corsair Vengence 16 gbs 3000, 240 gb kingston boot, 2tb HDD, Cooler master LC120E RGB AIO, and a lian li lancool II case
I think that'll last me for a couple of years
thats about my build, only difference is case, cpu, gpu, and storage
though cpu/gpu is close(but better then mine)
Installing OS now 3900x ryzen 9 32gb of ddr4 3000 evga gtx 1060 coolmaster master liquid 120 and a cx750m to power it
That's uhhh... Unbalanced to say the least
How so?
1060, 120mm AIO, pretty budget PSU
yet a 3900x
also only 3000 RAM
(hopefully OCable?)
Just picked a board was going to go with a 8 core but found a deal on the 12
I would assume it'd still be $400 - $450?
Yee, not to bring shame to you but that is a pretty unbalanced build. Good CPU, nice deal for it, but everything else is budget
maybe not mobo, storage, or case cuz idk them
Oh yeah. Looking at a x570
nice
Last build was 2016. Can use this board for a kids friendly pc when I upgrade
yeah
And I'm cheap
Did this on the fly for 900 so far
Trying to decide if I want to keep the ssd drive or go m.2
So I currently am thinking about getting an aio which my case fans are ll120’s so I was just wondering if they have to match
they do not have to match
it will look better if they do
but it wont effect performance
Ive been trying to make a balanced build mainly for gaming on and I was wondering if I could get some feedback. Thanks 😊 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VdxK27
you can get cheaper rams
the corsair lpx 3600 CL 16 is like 80ish
and get an RX 5700 xt
better performance per dollar
im not sure about ryzen 3000 support on that motherboard, you might have to do some googling
just to make sure
RGB = Better Performance obviously
lmao
Well did a cinebench all at stock levels hit 65c and scored 6928. Not to bad
Yeah better than ripjaws lmao
eh, ripjaws are about the same quality wise
No I meant like looks
@little osprey its for a gpu render farm at work
I personally don’t like the look of ripjaws
Oh and should I get 2 more case fans?
2
Ah
Yeah that seemed kinda overkill
yeah, get another identical fan
So the NZXT Aer140 or whatever it’s called
yeah i think
its a gpu
PSU is meh. Most decent PSUs can push about 10%+ more then what they say they can, that one cant at all
I know
I was thinking about getting a Corsair
Seasonic isnt always great
its not gonna catch on fire, thats good enough
It just has a lot more slots
i mean, its 650
Might I suggest this? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WxL48d
so idk if a 3700x and a 5700xt would push it far enough
Still tho, why pay for that when other PSUs wont do that?
that works too
Ah lemme check it out
I would, dont have to as I doubt you'd push more then 650w, but due to price being basically the same then yeah
push more then 650w when upgrading*
Ah gotcha
current configuration wont even push 550
SSD is meh for price, $5 more NVMe
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XML48d/silicon-power-a80-512-gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-sp512gbp34a80m28
Also so is mobo
And beware of the case, thermals arent that great in it
It's is decent quality, problem is price. That's basically on cheap x570 price which beats that mobo in quality. As a b450 tho it is good
cheap x570 mind you has no RGB
but I'd just get a non RGB mobo, RAM, fans and get RGB strips
Which x570 do you suggest?
Actual lighting on the mobo is kinda eh, may not to too worth it and could just get a diff b450. Going to be about $180
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dmGnTW/asus-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-wi-fi-atx-am4-motherboard-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-wi-fi
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Ft6qqs/asrock-x570-steel-legend-atx-am4-motherboard-x570-steel-legend
Like this board. It is lower end, cheaper, has RGB tho. Still good enough for what you need (that I know of)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wb7v6h/asrock-b450-steel-legend-atx-am4-motherboard-b450-steel-legend
I really like the look of the mobo I have now but it comes down to if I want better looks or performance 😫
I mean you dont have to switch it out. Should be fine for whatever you need it to do. While there is a "perf increase" so to speak, no standard consumer will notice it. As for x570 that's like PCIe Gen4 or better VRMs to OC a 3950x, something else, etc
Ah sweet
As long as there is no noticeable problems with performance I am fine
Oh and I am confused as what XC is on the GPU
Something to do with overclocking I am guessing lol
That’s a car part not a pc part lol
anything is a pc part
It increases aerodynamics
I seen that way to many times
@wispy matrix have you seen this one
Lol
@latent bronze you really need to recrop that one
You can tell it's an image bc the discoloration
@stoic island Not everyone can tell actually
Maybe you and a few others but that would be about it
it got me
alr
What are you thoughts on this for gaming ? Are they worth it its canadian pricing
I need two monitors
@covert crypt not worth
Which should I look at for dual monitors?
@coarse coral
why are you TAGGING ME
Eh a VA panel
VA it depends on the person cause for me as an example it really hurts my eyes
At least with TN and IPS(PLS) those are perfectly fine
Cause right now my monitors are these
For VA it is best to go to your local PC shop and see if they have it on display and on
That is a IPS monitor
Yah Its my current ones. But the refresh rates are bad
I plan on upgrading/downgrading my monitor
mine is from Samsung a 24" PLS (Samsung's IPS version) but only 60hz
I am going to stay at 1080p but going to go with 144hz and pretty much TN
the upgrade is the hz and the display port the downgrade is the panel
going to sell my monitor i am using now when i upgrade
I have a laptop so when i stream i use that instead of a second monitor
Personally for me i find for streaming you don't really need another monitor cause for the chatroom and for responding to them you can use a cheap laptop to a 8" cheap Android tablet
For me I'm using one screen for gaming and the other for watching movies lol
And cuz I'm use to having two monitors
I used to use 2 monitor like 10 to 20 years ago but then i realised i could use something else for streaming or watching movies while i am playing a game
The other thing for my laptop is cause it can play certain games that my buddies would play when they would come over they can always play with me
Hey guys been trying to up my PC build and would just like a second recommendation from the previous. I'm not too comfortable with the case but I think everything else is good right now for a gaming streaming PC as well as music creation. Please let me know what you think.
any reason that you are spending that much on things that wont make a difference?
also, and please dont take this the wrong way, but IF you are a tiny bit serious about the music part
get an actual pair of headphones.
Planning on keeping this pc for a while, don't want to upgrade it for a little bit.
And no lol it's like Finale music not fruit loops rapper type thing. Like sheet music for a band lol
does not matter what the music is for
even off-key nursery rhymes deserve headphones instead of gaming headsets (imo)
but the music part is the smallest thing
you got the ability to join the voice chat?
because there are so many questions that need some VERY good answers in regards to your build
Cooking right meow, is it that bad? Or is it the price thats the bad part
it is that bad
and the price is bad
@latent talon 2 hours from now? how about that?
Hold on I can make time really quick
okay, i will join voice in 1-2 minutes, need to grab a drink
Ok I'll be in there
i have a ryzen 5 2600 with the original cooler and its doing fine
if you are overclocking and doing some weird stuff then maybe you should buy a better cooler
Naw not overclocking mainly just gaming and editing wedding videoes for work.
My pc build
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/t9Lyq3
I think my pc can handle fine without overclocking o.o..
That's my max lol
The 3800x just looks more pleasing a number to me lol
But a 2070 doesnt?
Preferably 2080 but the moneyyy
Since you have 4 memory slots on the board why not start off with 16gb and later on if you need get another 16gb
Its better to use 2 slots cause of the daisy chain
Naw I like having overkill 32gb lol
But its a waste of money most likely
And cuz I run multiple emulators

Is there a way to transfer my CPU to an upgraded MOBO without having to repurchase Windows 10? Looking at upgrading my HP Omen obelisk to a new MOBO and case to allow future upgradeability and improve airflow/cooling performance.
So with the help of @foggy hazel, I was able to get to this bad boy from my original. And i couldn't be happier. He really knows his stuff and If I could give him stars i would
@latent talon you are very welcome :)
Do you need all that storage?
i will yes @woven horizon
unless you think i should get something smaller
and then add on more later
get the 2tb 970 instead of 2 1tb one
depends on the tiering we talked about @latent talon
and are you sure 750w is enough? had a friend kill a 750w psu with a 2700x and 2080super
as soon as my friend switched his gpu from 2070 to the 2080 super the psu died. Sure i believe it SeaSonic 🙂
and that is why a good psu is so important
and why @cursive wharf and myself harp on and on about it mattering
Really, 550w is all you need for 3950x 2080ti, soooo 750 would be fine
I have the tt smart 750 you think i could move to the 3800x and 2080s?
If the PSU is good, definally
its in the A tier
Then sure
TT smart is bad, also is not in LTT tier listing a
What tier is it under on the ltt list?
D
Oof
EDIT: This tier list isnt always 100% accurate. However it is still the best tier list that I know of

You are right
Look at that, Hei finally gets the recognition he deserves in the form of a pinned message
lol
I agree
Finished my first pc build
nice
I need help

I'm building my new PC right now and I bought the nzxt x62 280mm and a Gigabyte X570 Auros Elite. When I go to put the back mount bracket for the water cooler, the holes aren't wide enough for the x62, am I doing something wrong???
@little osprey thats an intel bracket it looks like
@little osprey sorry to bring you the bad news, but that bracket is not needed.
So I need a new bracket?
probably use the stock bracket
the AMD section.
I bought the cooler open box. No manual
https://sta3-nzxtcorporation.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/download/attachment/678/Kraken_X42X52X62X72-manual-092818-web.pdf <- there you go @little osprey
aye, read the manual i just linked you above
yep the manual will help the amd bracket is there youll need to use the stock backplate i think otherwise youll have to buy the backplate
I don't understand it, do I have what I need or no?
use the backplate that came with the motherboard also put the hooks back on the backplate
how do you break a ram stick..
Ye how
playing drums with them?
And how does box keep telling me to shut it

xD
I will mute you all night.
That’s not very nice
neat. got a pin I guess. Made an edit so that people know not to 100% go by it, just mostly
Bent it in half
pcb does not bend.
You are true to your name.. I guess.
They were old af
do you guys think a 2700x will bottleneck a msi trio x gaming 2080
and can i have your awesome options of this build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p34Lwh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j4NbCL <- @fresh summit
and i hope you dont mind, but i changed the gpu to a 2080super
i dont i asked for options and yours is one
that has helped
erhhmm
the ram i have heard bad things about it being unstable form friends
it is 10-ish usd more expensive.
yeah
then we can change the ram, i personally dont have a problem with them, but give me a moment.
ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wKhzFG <- there
noice
if possible, i would go for a 512 rocket instead
ok
lol i was confused on why the second list was 100 more but there is the other ram too
yeah
and before your friends chime in, yes, the 650watt psu is more than enough
and no, there is not any benefit from the 4*8 setup with ram (that you had)
ok
it only gives you a added cost when you potentially upgrade in x years
ok
because at that point, you would end up with 4*8 sticks you dont have use for
yeah\
@fresh summit anything else i can help with ?
ummm no thank you so much for the extra help
you are very welcome :) and have fun with the build :)
the next thing you might want to look into is adding a decent air cooler (for added silence)
but there is no rush for that
the stock cooler is fine for you
yeah i was looking at bench marks for performace and quietness and the articfreezer duo cooler was very competive with alot of the coolers around the same price so i will probably go with that
and do you think 3rd gen ryzens will have a price drop when 4th gen comes out
time will tell on the price
ok
as for cooler, something like a noctua n12 would be my recommendation
ok
The NH-U12S chromax.black is an all-black version of Noctua’s award-winning NH-U12S premium-quality quiet CPU cooler. Thanks to the same proven slim-tower heatsink design and NF-F12 PWM fan, it stays true to the NH-U12S’s successful formula of fusing excellent cooling per...
that
my bad on the wrong product name the first time around.
brown or black, they perform the same. (when the model name is the same)
example: u12s comes in both brown and black
yah but the black looks wat better
ok
yeah but idk the brown is just an eyesoar for me doesnt really match stuff as well
that is your preference :)
yeah
mind, i dont do windows or lights
i have better things to use the budgets for my machines on :)
Can somebody help me create the most unbalanced PC ever ?
:3 I'm talking completely unreasonable hardware
you dont do windows i get no rgb but no windows
yeah i guess they can put a diffrence on the overall price
@fresh summit i work/play on the machines. windows serve no purpose.
yeah i just think its a cool idea
agreed 100% @fresh summit
IF i was doing a visual build, i would absolutely use a case with a window
yeah
@olive kraken for what use?
nope, cannot help you. there is paint i have to watch dry.
Fair enough
Help I finished my pc build but it says this for compatibility
Note:The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.
Note:Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.
What's a better compatible psu ?
what cpu and how much overclocking are you planning
that's enough
you dont need it most 1000w psus have that extra cable
i have the mpg gaming edge wifi x570 and dont use it. My friend has the b450 pro carbon and he didnt need to use it
8 pin EPS supplies 300w of power, no AM4 CPU takes that much
So you don't need the extra 4 pin
Ok so my build is clear and good to run smoothly and properly without it ?
yes youre good
corsair 220t is a cheaper case and it basically a mesify c
and you get 3 corsair sp120 fans
Is it cheaper? I dont care much for rgb all I want is great airflow
And easy cable management
uphere fans failed after 2 months results may vary
Meshify c was recommended to me for airflow
Also I'd probably get a 3700x and spend the excess money on a better cpu cooler
Cuz my desktop is gonna be on the floor and no looked at lol
3800x comee with stock cooler which I'm told is sufficient enough o.o
It is adequate, but not great
@covert crypt if you are not overclocking, you are wasting a LOT of money on that mainboard [edit:spelling]
I will be overclocking just not often
it's sufficient in the same way pasta with no sauce is sufficient
^
sufficient
well, IF you are going to be oc'ing, then where is the cooler for that?
in the sense that it just happens to work
itll make a turd
because you are not going to get anywhere on the stock cooler.
I wouldn't say it's that bad, but to an extent
I have a hyper evo 212 in my closet
i said a cooler, not a piece of waste.
Is it enough or a better or out there xD
i do NOT like the evo 212.
noctua or be quiet
it is way overpriced and way way overrated
Itll fit all my parts in the case I hope lol
Yeah, but if you have an old one laying around to replace some stock coolers it isn't that bad
But still, pretty sure Mugen 5 is in Canada
Reason: Bad word usage
haha
@shadow flume howd you fry your old comp
Someone wanna rate my build?
go for it
is Water cooling worth it
It usually keeps ur pc cool, so if you’re OCing why not
How do you guys have enough money to be building like more than one decent pc
work
Well, with a stable job and decent saving habits, the majority of people can save up money for their hobbies. Whatever that hobby may be
Hi everyone, newegg chat sent me here, 1 quick question for MOBO memory standard spec: DDR3 2400+(O.C.)/ 2100/ 1866/ 1800*/ 1600*/ 1333/ 1066 does that mean i can only use ram sticks without the OC* ?
thanks for your help, i really appreciate it
@little osprey There are people on here that would buy used parts for really cheap and resell it as a whole build for a little more
like someone could build a decent system for esports games and spend like 300$ but end up building it and sell it for like 400$ so you'd make a 100$ profit and then keep doing it to make a little more back
What's going on guys
Is R5 3600/RX5600XT /16g ram good?
define good xD
@main carbon the only way something would be bad if you had or was thinking of buying a Core 2 Quad Q9550 or a Athlon X4 845 and wanted to pair it up with a RX 5600 XT
Just got to point this out https://i.gyazo.com/28651602b667cefe32d54015a44f1c5d.png
@subtle halo You can see in this the overclocked cores is what makes the 5600 XT almost as good as the 2060 😛
yes
waiting to order more parts to finish my new build. Graphics card and monitors will currently stay the same, but looking to upgrade them in the near future. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DqmtK4 which would you upgrade first, graphics card or monitors? I mainly play games (Tarkov, Overwatch, Rust, cod) & watch movies on them
the 2 5600 XT he tested as well is this one https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-radeon-rx-5600-xt-11296-01-20g/p/N82E16814202365?&quicklink=true
@tropic shale Got to ask why did you get 3 60hz monitors?
Tomie it is not a driver thing though
I got 2, and was given a 3rd monitor while doing some website design. Just kind of stuck with it. @latent bronze
The AOC wasnt intended but came in handy, lol.
we can install 5700xt bios on our 5700 and oc it to beat 5700xt stock score. ... 60c-65c
When people like Hardware Unboxing would do these tests they find the most stable one they don't always use the up to date drivers
if 2060 oc maybe it could be higher
the 2060 in that graph is base clocks same with the 1660 Super
overall for the vbios that is something you have to do on your own AMD wont provide that
and if you get a black screen then what?
you can go back
or play with oc
until u get stable ones
jay2cents already did it.. and he beat the stock
of 5700xt
few hundreds away
with the 5700 yes but with the 5600 XT that is a different story
yeah
i dont have it so.. xD hahah good luck for those 5600xt users ❤️
those comes from failed 5700 xD and so 5700 comes from dead 5700xt
Lot of people that cares about people actually gives out a disclaimer to use at your own risk and what are the possible causes for the 5600 XT Vbios update/change
certain one's have it not all
yeah
new gpu like this. must use new driver because theres always improvement from Footnotes.. like Playing Warcraft®️ III: Reforged now it increase from 211.1 to 234.9 FPS
but still 5700 series still at the bug list haha
kinda lucky now i dont have those blackscreen and shutdown issues.
reddit 5700 owners are crying for help
on /r/amdhelp
There is a YouTuber by the name RandomGameinginHD which he only gets black screens for certain games in HDMI 1080p but when he goes for DP 1440p it is working fine
with the 5700 XT
This is the one he is using as well https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-radeon-rx-5700-xt-gv-r57xtgaming-oc-8gd/p/N82E16814932208?&quicklink=true
yeah thats sad maybe ports are bad or the driver makes it look like bad
He is thinking it is a driver issue so he is going to hold onto the card
Tuesday i am going to check my local PC shop if they will still have that AIO i want
which is this one https://i.gyazo.com/d1e8a089596efa7e751b9b5b03f78f26.png
bykski aio looks fine
we bought parts yesterday
just 2700 build.. with mortar max mobo...
I am only buying that because one it is affordable for me and two my board has a RGB header and not a ARGB header
at stock bios the g skill works
at 3200
then after update
it only runs 2993
else it wont boot
but vengance pro 3200 works
on stock not.. but on updated one its fine
xD
weird
i know 2nd gens are bound to 2993 .. the maximum oc i seen on 2nd gen is 3600 at r 5 2400g xD from acientgameplay yt
This would make the perfect 800$ build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v3g6q3
yeah its fine
for gaming your losing a lot of frame on dota 2 if you use 5700xt on that cpu
But Dota 2 there isn't much people on here that plays it
yeah
Majority i would see people wanting a system for games like Apex, Fortnite, CoD MW and maybe Tomb Raider
so a system like what i just slapped out there would be perfect for all those games
oh for the Tomb Raider games would be maxed out over 60 fps
when i tried 2400g + 5700 on apex
the reason it lags
because the grass
grass render too slow
xD
i hope they fix it
That is more a GPU issue
my cousin plays Apex with a R5 1400 and a GTX 1650 Super and it runs smooth like butter
always between 70 and 90 fps
i was so desperate to do modding on apex when i use my old cpu 2400g
like no grass mod
hahaha
becaue its so sad
R5 1400 is weaker than a 2400G as well
its freezing like hell
but after u render the grass
its fine
aslong u dong run away
and start rendering other grass
haha
brb got to check on my food
its slightly weaker

it can be oc easily from what i understand to 2600 levels tho
but like its just barely weaker
about 5% weaker
It's basically on par, uses same process as 2600 I think only difference is memory controller if I'm not mistaken or something small that makes it little bit weaker in some scenarios
But it's supposed to be $85 vs $120-$130 for 2600 so
1600 AF superior on a tight budget
But 5% weaker is not on par
also right now the 1600 AF is selling for 100$
85 was the MSRP really
basically on par
Because it's only 5% weaker in some scenarios not consistently 5% weaker
And yes that's true but it's just a waiting thing, price probably upped based on buzz
Trending on Newegg at the moment as a search term
It won't drop cause of high demand which is why now the 2700 is like 150$
more people going after the 1600 AF so they decided make the 2700 cheaper so people would go for that
2700 and 2600 well priced right now compared to the inflated 1600
when?
^
micro center does a deal where you can buy a mobo and cpu and if you buy both you get 30 bucks off cpu
i got it like in december i think? but deal is still going
as of yesterday it was
Nearest is too far lucky
lol
"luckly"
i also just got a good mobo for 110
I'm in Miami, drive to Georgia would prob makeup the savings lol
lowest i can find here is 98$
so essentially i got a 2600 plus asus x470 for 200 bucks 😄
lol

570 mobo?
this is the mobo i got for 110 lol https://www.newegg.com/p/2MG-000B-00264?item=9SIAFJ88ZW0839&source=region&nm_mc=knc-googlemkp-pc&cm_mmc=knc-googlemkp-pc-_-pla-technology+galaxy-_-motherboards+-+amd-_-9SIAFJ88ZW0839&gclid=CjwKCAiAg9rxBRADEiwAxKDTuux4Y7m8lX6nLV6Wg9r_fPFVWc_tCXzumAJmBusbt1LODMgyaFZlfhoCNaIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
oh
ohhhhhhhhhhh
uh
did it actually die?
