@little osprey
That looks like a pretty bad deal
and @little osprey
It's not too bad but realize thats from amazon
2400mhz ram for ryzen???
huh?
120gb boot ssd and 1tb hdd?
oh I see
Seems pretty bad in every part of the build
(Foot)
is that a good build list
@deft kiln have you ever watched this guy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Tn-atYOt8qZP-oqui7bhw
Can you build it yourself?
yeah not worth foot
im building it my self
Because you can get much better doing it yourself
ill try get better ram
thats 1171.78 usd
Oh wait
Thats some overpriced parts right there
Yes
Yeah most of the time
its on a website in aus that builds oit for yopu and that cost like 100 aud so its
Go for the MSI Max boards as well since they're 3000 ready as well
and that is in aus notnusd
My board supposedly only supports 2666mhz ram natively
I'm runnimg 3600mhz ram just fine
@deft kiln to usd its 1171.78
very overpriced**
I would just suggest going like 1tb nvme ssd if you only need about 1tb storage
Sabrent rocket
pc restart time
thabnkjs for the help
Foot you can also get Windows 10 at a grey market site for like 9$
ok
Sometimes you'll find a mobo with integrated wifi that costs less than without wifi mobo + wifi card
wait is trident z rgb 3200 good
Might be a bit pricey, but if theres a good deal, its good ram
Also for Ryzen chips for 3000 series 3200MHz is pretty much like the minimum which if you can go for 3600MHz
Yeah, it's good ita just if you can get it for a good price
G.skill has some good deals out right now I think
Oh if thats true go with it
3200?
Can you use pcpartpicker or no
wait could i download windows without a code than but a code for cheap and get full windows
thats pretty epic
yes you can get the installer
you can download windows without a a code
You'll just have a watermark i the bottome left
right*
But if you log into windows and you own it on the microsoft account, it'll activate for you
I am in Canada so it will default to Canada
pc part picker is more expensive because where i live in aus takes lkike 100 aud shippiung
australia is wacc
yeah
and thsi stroe is 16 km away from me
also what are your opinions on the steel series m750 tkl
because i just bought it
and i realkly like it
Is there
there?
some epic ram
Bc newegg has free shipping
It should be if not, ohhhhh boi is he in trouble
Why are you guys also looking up 3200MHz memory when the CPU is a Ryzen 5 3600?
why not
I think its on a bit of budget so no 3600 mhz
wym
3600mhz more expensive. Its nice to have if you can afford it tho
If you have pc part picker, then uhhh I have a sort of budget pc
oh ram speed ok
Ryzen feeds on faster memory for better performance
bruh it so expensive when in aus dollars
no its because no gpu pricve can be found
Oh true
Look at that one then
You're going to need a cpu cooler and such
and the hdd isn't the best lmao
tHAT LIOST doesnt look complete
How old is your bios?
i have no idea but my pc is basically an infant
It's missing a cpu cooler thats it
its like barely 2 weeks old
really on cpu cooler
Uhh prebuilt or no?
is it a reatail box
it might be becuase im going from pc to tv
Ssd?
idek
Yeah foot you can use the stock one
but it was originally made for my friend who has a water cooled one
Mine is...?
Why do need nvidia?
list*
The one that I added Is as good as a 2070 \
Mhm
@muted dawn that monitor is ok, it's just 75 hz which isn't too great for fps if that what you're lookin to do
It's a 5700
wat
5700 is less than ta 2070
It's definately not a 2060
because the 5500 is a 2060
damn im confused now
oh true
Foot, the 5700 is a good GPU
bso better thann 2070
and over a 2060
Nvidia has nothing comparable at that price also
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Mikerophones/saved/wnDPnQ If you want a xt, heres the new list
Its right between 1660S and like 2070/2060S
more like 2060
yeah...
2060 is kinda irrelevant imo
true
For RTX yes
For every day gaming or streaming, no
AMD's encoder on the 5700 series is poo
that was the silliest thing i have seen today
For gaming and streaming, go nVidia 2060 or 2070
Gaming on a 5700xt isn't bad?
For those who wants to know what i mean it would be this https://i.gyazo.com/3bd668b9408017db9cd500f6f86a84e6.png
OH no, not at all!
im doing lots of gaming
5700 is fine then
We already discussed I was wrong, I thought it was a better gpu
Streaming is where Nvidia shines
no need to shove my face in it
5500 XT is pretty much an expensive 1650 Super lol
I mean no one gonna point out me saying 5700 is comparable to 2060?
I think in my mind I meant 2060S but I typed 2060
this good pc for gaming and making yt vids?? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/cPWzvW
Hecc
I thought 5700 > 2060
same
@little osprey all
ok, ditch the monitor imo
for fps get a 144hz @muted dawn
@muted dawn you can play pretty much every game
Do 1660S
1660TI or 1660 super is a good choice for 1080p gaming on a budget
TI is slgihtyl faster but also more expensive
1660s is a 1660ti but cheaper last I checked
cant get 144hz monitor in my budget i think 75hz should be ok?
@muted dawn also get a cheap like 120 gb ssd for a boot drive
I mean 60hz is ok, I just think it'll be annoying for later purposes
75hz should be ok
yeah 1660 s is much cheaper and also like 2 fps lower
60hz is ick
the monitors 75hz
is 1060 better
also its a 1660 super is a great gpu, just kinda pricey
75hz is pretty much the bare minimum
No
Yeah thats what I'm sayin but he can't afford it right now he said
ok
1660 > 1060 last I checked
1660 super cheaper than ti so i choose it instead
Foot you have to overclock the 1060 by at least 20% to get the performance of my 1660 lol
1660 super better price for performance than ti version?
Yes
I would say get the 9600k, if you are going to overclock that is
how much more perfoirmance if i get a good oc on it
if you are overclocking the 9600K if not then the 9400F
Who knows
depends how high you push it
9400F performance is like my Ryzen 5 2600
Depends on the silicon on the chip
Yeah
ok
Where'd the 6 come from xD
Idek
when 7 8 9
I'm having a stroke over the hissing in my ear
also why does noctua have to make poop coulered fans
because noctua
they have black fans now
really
yep
Because real PC builders will recognize their fans in a build as great fans
aight but anyone know anything about audio?
I think LTT made a video on it
I'm getting a hissing noise from the right ear of my headset
Oh nvm
and no audio from videos/games plays
probably the headset than
bruh
This is just an example of their new fans https://www.newegg.com/p/1YF-000T-00020
Eh
I was about to say motherboard has an audio chip integrated so
jack is bad
i gtg
I tried two of my jacks
but don't buy from that 3rd seller on it
thanks for the hgelp
The Q300L if a fine case
I have a Gigabyte Z390 Ultra
Is it a windows issue maybe? Windows update?
I just did lmao
(Roll back update?)
Both cases are nice but the Q300L i would go for cause better airflow
Your audio isn't set to HDMI on the video card, is it?
@latent bronze would it be ok to just use 1 fan? in the rear that it comes with?
Oh boi, lemme check lmao
best to buy 2 more fans for the front to pull in cool air
Oh yea make sure to set stuff to output to your headphones
hm
I accidently had discord outputting to my monitor without speakers once
Well I now have it through a vga connection and it hecking still happens
and it goes to speakers
Alright I gotta go, good night people.
make sure it goes to onboard audio out
@muted dawn you could replace the rear fan and use these to make it have more bling to it https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/Gb66Mp/cooler-master-mf120r-argb-3in1-59-cfm-120mm-fans-r4-120r-203c-r1
those $60
i was thinking to get 2 of these https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/VPfFf7/gamdias-talos-e1-microatx-mini-tower-case-gd-talos-e1
Well i am looking out for you and your system
i get it but i would rather pay less for fans and have better performance i can upgrade fans in future
Always think about cooling first over performance
cause if you think performance first and not cooling you could have a system that would always shut down on you
rip
Oof
Should watch Tech Yes City since he always has video's on things like cases that are very good for low costs
Q300L is a good case has a full mesh front panel which is very good just you would need 2 more fans in the front for pulling in air
Wait if Nvidia makes a GTX 17xx series
for the CPU though if you go 10th gen you would need a new motherboard
but the i5's will also be 6 core 12 threads as well
Why are you running a diagnostic?
Blue screen or just straight shut down?
Shut down
How old is it?
Did you build it or did someone else?
Build
I built mine and its ok. And i built my friend one with the same exact parts and its having problems
Typically when a PC just shuts off like that it means one of two things. The CPU is overheating OR the power supply is faulty
Check to be sure all the fans are spinning and the CPU isn't getting too hot. If that's the case, try a different power supply
It doesn’t register as overheating
How do you know?
Yea
What does the temperature get to?
Its always in between 20-30c
Even under a load?
Well it shuts down a couple minutes after its put under load
Right. But the temperature stays at 30C even under a load?
Ill test it rn
Do
If the CPU gets hot, check the fan and thermal paste
If the CPU doesn't get too hot, I'd suggest testing another power supply
It hit 34c and then turned off
Mine did that, it was bad thermal paste spread .
Better clean than and put new paste on before putting it back on
Well a little bigger than a pea size dot for it to spread
in the middle of the CPU
i need a new motherboard, but dont know which one i should get on a buget, have i5-3470 gtx 1050 looking for somewhere $200?
lol dame they're all in US
So I had the question of if the view 37 argb works with a B450 Aorus M mother board. I know it gives a listing of supported mother boards but I feel like it might be outdated and wanted to make sure before I purchase
Bit late - but if you wanna see your Windows experience index in win 10 - similar to how it was in 7, run
Get-CimInstance Win32_WinSat
from an elevated powershell
Can someone explain why running a game causes it to power off and not a stress test
Different instruction sets being used
Try running multiple stress tests (doesn't have to be at same time)
Probably would see it fail in one of them
Unless you're sitting like 10 feet away 32" is a little much
Also that's not exactly the best of gaming monitors
Also the motherboard isn't up to date to support that Ryzen
If you plan on overclocking the X470/570 are good if you don't plan on it stick with the MSI B450 Max boards
Could still overclock but i would tend to think not that high with a B450
Also if u r spending so much anyways, I would get an nvme ssd
They are fairly cheap
That motherboard has 2 m.2 slots
But if u do change to a diff mobo
I guess that would be a different story if it only has 1 slot
I checked as well and for the retailer sites it says 1st and 2nd gen only
if you looked on the Gigabyte site they would say but once you update
And you're linking that image from where?
From Amazon UK its like £30 more, similar price at laptops direct
https://i.gyazo.com/8685d1fd2a5b06883304b3f9f45a2d28.png retailers are different and if it an up to date version they have to mention it which it doesn't
That is the point i am getting at that the manufacture could mention it but if the store doesn't have it and they have older models it wouldn't work and the board doesn't have flashback
This is from the cheapest thing https://i.gyazo.com/666a54a8878263c73047c9f81c363179.png
You would have to contact the store first to see if they would be selling the 3000 ready versions
This also is the one's that are 3000 ready out of the box https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/CXvqqs/msi-x470-gaming-plus-max-atx-am4-motherboard-x470-gaming-plus-max
@little osprey Remember you asked on thoughts and i am just helping out cause you wouldn't want to buy something to find out it is not going to work
Also i would got for this instead of Asus https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/fpbCmG/evga-geforce-rtx-2080-super-8-gb-black-gaming-video-card-08g-p4-3081-kr
Where should I go for sound card talk/assistance?
@little osprey NXZT h510 elite?
non elite
Ah
Hey guys
I have a boneheaded friend that wants to pair a 3900x with the gigabyte x570 xtreme mb
How do I convince him that's a waste
and that is a bad thing how?
To be honest it is your friend if he/she wants to spend that much money you should let them and see if they have regrets later
The xtreme is overkill for most everything, but its soooo prettty
I am too poor that so I have the master
I am so confused as to why that is that expensive
I mean youre the guy with a 3900x and 2080ti
3950X, and 2080S.
Deadshot
well its mostly the combination of vrm and about 9 pounds of copper
You're clearly not strangers with spending a load of money
also the 10gbe chip is expensive
I would understand price differences but honestly not 3x/3.5x another decent X570, I had no idea it costed that much
those aquantia add in cards are about $90 alone. The 16 phase vrm is quite expensive as well
the xtreme the godlike and that asrock aqua board are all stupid expensive
So I just got a powercolor rx 5700 xt red devil, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it would come with a display port cable. (Since I am going to be running a 1440p 144hz build.) Or would I have to buy that separately?
it should tell you what's in the box
on the site
yeah it doesn't say it has any cables
monitors typically come with hdmi
Which would be better? CORSAIR iCUE 220T RGB Airflow or Phanteks P400a?
Is this enough thermal paste?
Little bit more probably. Its hard to tell from the pic but it looks like that pea is very flat
Ok
Cant actually tell how tall that blob is
Oh yeah Id say thats about enough.
Ok
thinking about making this my first build, does anyone see any glaring issues with the parts list?
whoops
The Thicc 5700 XT is regarded as really just there for the memes
The powercolour red devil and sapphire pulse seem to be the best 5700 XTs.
The 660p is a reasonable m.2 drive at that price but theres better for the same price-ish
I'm not sure about the sabrent rocket's current US availability.
$120 on amazon
Crucial P1 is pretty good Ive heard.
that one's cheaper
is it also QLC?
ok google says it is
unsurprising
but yeah looks good
says 1 ms
I know very little to nothing about monitors. Listen to someone else on that.
i dont see any TN panels touting below 1ms
that aren't really expensive
the ones that have 0.4-0.5ms response time are $275-400
Other than it being va, it dosent seem to have vesa compatibility so if you ever wanted to replace the stand, for verticatily or somethong but it looks like a good build
Heres the montior i ised for a long time, had two of em
Acer KG241Q Pbiip 23.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) TN 144Hz 1ms Monitor with AMD FREESYNC Technology (Display Port & 2 x HDMI) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rCLbEbJVKWR2X
Its not sub 1ms but its near the current monitors price
i don't have experience but from some quick googling i've gathered that VA panels generally have slower response time than TN, but have better color correctness and visual quality
but if this VA panel has 1ms then it should be ok no?
there are some TN panels with 165hz around the same price point, but if VA has noticeably better visuals i'm fine with sacrificing that 21hz
i've never seen the difference in person though
Yeah htose are just 144hz panels oc to 165
I couldnt tell you the differnce ive never seen the monitor on you list in person
The only thing i see "bad about the monitor" is there no mounting point so you cant change stands if the stock one dosent fit you need
i really hope these promos/rebates stay for a while i have to sell off some old laptops to fund it lol
lol
i am trying to find out if the monitor's height is adjustable
cause the pictures look like it
i think if the height is adjustable then it's fine that i can't change stands
ahh it's not
but it does say the stand can be removed
alright well thanks for all the help guys
😄
Anyone have any experience with omen PC’s found what I think is a pretty good deal but was wondering if any things to look out for when buying a used PC and possibly some upgrade ideas to increase performance a bit. It’s all this for $1000
It included the monitor which is a 1080p 4ms 60hz monitor which I know isn’t great but not bad
the omens are soso and kinda over priced you could build a better pc for that price and prolly get a better monitor
its HP if that helps ....
@strange garden see if you can get the deal without that monitor, the pc n stuff is good for the price, but that monitor is like absolute garbage
60hz is bad to begin with, 4ms seals the deal
Its a good deal
@strange garden do you know which specific omen is in the listing? It could be a different omen model
if he's selling that computer, with a monitor keyboard headset and such, good deal
yeah true
Specifics would be epic, because he could have swapped parts also
Yea
Smash or pass - $229 Westinghouse WC27PX9019 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 144Hz 5ms 2xHDMI DisplayPort AMD FreeSync Technology Flicker-Free USB 3.0 Hub Low Blue Light Eye Care Widescreen Backlit LED Curved Gaming Monitor https://www.newegg.com/product/N82E16824569009?m_ver=1
freesync AMD so yeah pass
Yeahhh
I have a 24inch 144hz monitor that I got for 180, and you can get something similar for less
I went with Dell - 24" LED QHD G-SYNC Monitor - Black
1080 is 1080 on any screen you get its not going to change on how it looks unless you just get a crappy monitor 27in is fine
I found it for 200
And added 4 year protection
Majin, 1080p on a 27inch monitor is going to have less pixel density, therefore induvidual pixels would be more visiable than on a 24inch monitor
Because 1080p is the same amount of pixels on either monitor
Thats an expensive monitor lmao
I mean its a good monitor just I believe it's overkill and expensive, but if you got the cash man. Go for it
Oh wait you got it $200 no thats great lmao
Yea 200$ for 1440p 144hz pretty great
It was an open box
I say it on new egg for $400 and that what I assumed you paid for it but nah you said $200 lmao
Wegg wegg
Good find
I still want the benq
Get the dell
Yeah it’s ordered
Now I’m super poor
But I’ll finally not be complaining about something on my rig
I’ve been very slow to piece meal everything one by one.
I had the 1080 with an i5 3570k
And like cpu intensive games
I would've loved to have found that deal when I built my thing :p
I’m so ready to play on it. But its like another week before I’ll even get to rebuild
I have somewhat complex build
Inte to amd
And 2 separate installs
One for play and one for work
Separate SSDs as well
It’s gonna be “fun”
I would love to build PCs for a living
I did that already.
I haven't seen anywhere that does that tho
Yea...
You should’ve seen the shop I ran before I got there.
Who knows, maybe I'll find a job at like orgin one day
They had computers line out to one side to the other.
Estimated time was like 3 weeks before first response and planned resolution
I just picked up the NVIDIA 2060S. I’m new to building but I’ve heard a lot of good about it? Anyone got any thoughts or opinions on it?
Sinced you picked it up, we cant suggest 5700xt to you now :p
Nvidia is nvidia, they do things good, just a lil high price
You didnt get a blower style one right
Yeah, the 2060S was expensive but what can you do. It was slightly better than the 5700, and the 2080 was WAYYY too much.
Let me check.
Blower GPUs tend to be pretty trash
5700xt should be a bit cheaper and better perf than 2060s
I have a 3 fan 2070, because it looks nice
2 fans on it is enough
Looks fine
That’s good
Fair warning, dont expect great rtx performance from it
Yeah I was checking the benchmarks ok it
Apparently RTX slows the frame rate by quite a bit
It'll be fine but usually you would want like a 2070s for high frames doing rtx
I see
Yeah I’m probably not going to use RTX too much except on games like Metro Exodus
Games that utilize it
It’s a bundle deal, but worst case I’ll sell the monitor and buy a different one. I’m waiting for her to send me the system info to verify the parts are correct
I'm new to PC building, I just built my first one with a R5 3600x and 5700xt. The 5700xt has it's RGB on, and its fans initially spin up on boot, but they immediately stop, and the card is not detected by Windows
??
not detected but displays video?
Does it say generic display adapter?
Fans stopping is normal, they only spin up when it gets to XX temperature
yes, generic display adapter
(You might need drivers)
You installed the AMD drivers?
Its detected then, you just need drivers.
How would I find the correct drivers and everything
lol okay
I did smth wierd when I did it
I went to change adapter settings or whatever, update drivers, and search online for drivers
Not at my pc, but something similar to that lol
Eh, that gets the driver only, not the full package from the manufacturer
also, games wont run above like 1 FPS
Ya
No worries
Idk, but does AMD have something like nvidia experience?
Or geforce experience, forgot the name
At that differnce in size though you will almost not see the differnce I get there is a density difference but I have a 29 inch ultra wide at 1080 and it looks fabulous. A 1440 would look better but it as long as you like it thats what matters
Which brand is better for processors these days? Ryzen, or Intel Core?
Depends
I’ve heard that Ryzen is slightly better
Multi core loads, AMD. Single core performance and gaming, Intel has a slight edge
Hmm
Intel is better PURE gaming
I chose the Ryzen 3600x for my build. It was not too expensive and had a better cooler than the standard 3600.
SLightly higher base clock also
That’s right!
They’re in that high of demand? Sheesh!
Thats why I went with 3800x
There’s mine
I mean when 3600x is the same price as 3600, the demand is gonna be sky high
Ooooh now I see why
Yeah they all look similar
I wasn’t sure how much more it is
Well, I upgraded from a 2700 to a 3800x, and the boxes stayed the same
What tests should I run to make sure everything works right if I’m buying a used PC
run both for a decent length idealy 30-60 mins
Is there really a free PC build simulator?
i mean u do have pcpartpicker
(The game isnt free)
PC part picker will just let you make a list and tell you it it should work 😛
@little osprey you have to have intake on the pc to bring cooler air into the case or you create a negative pressure and the ambient temps will never go down and will cause issue with over heating, second if you dont want to see the stickers then place the fans on the outside blowing into through the rad then you see no stickers
is it normal for components in a build to not power on all at the same time?
If there is a slight delay, it should be fine
Well sometimes some things take a sec to start up idk tho
My fans start up a second after rgb lights up
My mouse lights up few seconds before my keyboard does
i don't know if that's actually what's happening
Describe plz
is your gpu fully plugged in, is it screwed in? and is it sagging at all?
I wanna say it does
and do you have a dvi cable
Have you tested your cable to make sure its good
^
Like plug it into a laptop or smth and see if you get a signal
I have a ryzen 2200g + rx 570. It plays VR just fine, but when I start screen recording, my fps drops. Do I need to upgrade my cpu or gpu?
Cpu
i am using the one from my ps4
so i know it works
the reason I asked is because I think my graphics card powers on a little after everything else
which causesit to not power on
I should have mentioned the logo flashes on the screen like it is coming on and then it flickers off to "no signal"
which would support my theory of the graphics card not being booted up/awake
but it's super weird to me
I mean like monitors usually have their logo flash even without signal
no
my motherboard logo
like the company
that's why its weird
cuz i know its coming on but its just an issue wit the display
which is why i thought it was the graphics card not powering on right away
What’s the go to m.2 drive for operating system?
Looking for something small on the cheap
small as in 240GB then
Yessum
And for the os would it even matter if it’s gen4 vs 3?
I don’t think it would as all of the binaries in the memory that should be loaded are on my storage drive.
Sabrent rocket
yeah was about to say
Is nice and cheap nvme and good
i'm going to get a sabrent rocket probably
and don't get the Q
it's a QLC drive with dynamic SLC cache
which means you hit about 50% full and it starts degrading performance
I like the corsair mp510 but its more expensive than the sabrent rocket
Thanks y’all.
Doing more research on this
After much research I’ve decided on this one...
Based solely on looks alone.
come on that label
it reminds me of computer parts from about 2000
GPUs and sound cards used to be packaged with art like that and like, blue and green gradients
i think this company warped to the present from 20 years ago
@dry tinsel yes, it's my kids build
nice
i liked the FX series
at the time they were affordable and powerful despite their flaws
it was only toward the end that they just got bad
That M.2 looks like something i would order on Ebay shipped from hong kong that has like a samsung package lol
lol
but i feel like you could build something on an FX still if you wanted a PC for limited purposes
to play certain games, etc
@little osprey https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jn4ZQq
Most games you can max out without any problems at 1080p and high to very high settings at 1440p
But streaming will mean you will lose some in game performance
If you live near a microsenter you could use a R5 1600 instead
I stream with a GTX 1660 and i don't notice any performance drops
If I were you I would get a 240 GB SSD and a better processor
For os, if you have access to another computer you can proly find a grey market windows key, but i didnt tell you that
That’s my opinion though
My cousin right now is using a Ryzen 5 1400 with a GTX 1050 Ti able to play Apex on high settings without any problems
He could get a 1600 but only if he is close to a microsenter
Or go with a sata drive
i won a windows key from a blog that's been giving them away
Link
question, do i need a hard drive to even get bios to display?
going in the bios you don't need a drive
A smaller Sata boot drive could be a way to spend less on an SSD and buy a better CPU
darn. Was sort of hoping that was my problem. Waiting on that to arrive lol
Tried redoing the ram and power cables
Also there are people that would like to install the more demanding games on their SSD and still have room
Yup, I guess it’s personal preference
which is why i slapped in a 512gb
https://www.myofficetricks.com/christmas-giveaway-windows-10-pro-product-key-for-free/ they are giving away legitimate keys and if you win the key you can post a screenshot to them on twitter and they should reply with another
It seems good
Yeah im working to tone it down
The 1660S is cheaper but also slightly slower
Could swap the case for a Rosewill Cullinan ATX mid
I had that list cause i was also helping someone out yesterday which is a perfect system to play most games out there maxed out for 1080p
Also the Spectra would be better for cooling
Yep indeed
https://cdn.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/product/70cfdd15f7d8aef02ec443ea693b7d57.1600.jpg full front mesh ventilation
Didn’t see that, yep that’s a big +
@little osprey This is the list the case is in there https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gy4Gk6
Ecks made a list for you above Crippled
the 30$ you would have left you could get the 30+ games on Humble Bundle
fixed the link
30 games for 30 bucks ?
Isn’t the Pro4 motherboard better ?
Damn forgot to change the motherboard back
240gb is fine but he would still need later on another SSD for those demanding loading games
Yep plus 10 bucks extra is fine honestly I wouldn’t cheap out too hard on the mobo
Also one of the other main reasons i went for a M.2 is for a cleaner look
Well performance as well depends on what you're doing
Thanks for the bundle link btw
I think this is what im gonna stick with the reccomend, ill change based on the needs of the person
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ww3dq3
Also never know if he would plan on making YouTube content cause a lot of streamers later become YouTube content creators so having a NVMe would help for editing
Unfortunately the bundle isn’t permanently on the site
Yeah id save the extra 50 bucks for a good nvme drive
one i linked in the list is actually very good
Btw, I’m planning to get the EVGA card ? Is it a good option
What would be the best 1660s
EVGA is the best option when going Nvidia
^
close second is Zotac
Im buying a rog strix 2070 s cause rgb
Zotac is one of the few companies i have seen make a tiny card with 2 fans on it
I don't bother with RGB on cards unless the case has a vertical mount
Also that bundle is all steam games
Will GPU prices decrease in 2020 ?
Lol mine dosent i made the mistake of getting h510i and im to lazy to change cases
Prices on older hardware will always decrease unless something like mining pops up again
The h510 has terrrrrible airflow
I’ll wait a bit for the 1660s and see then
For the Zotac 1660 Super this is what it looks like in a small system https://i.gyazo.com/9327d34fd184570becd017a8210c2c1c.png
Im excited for the 3000 series
I have a phanteks evolv x and I like it
The h510i has great cable mangment tho
Honestly I don’t mind having a normal sized card, my case is pretty big
Yeah, i need room for the cooler for the 3950x im buying lol, so might as well get a normal sized card
3950x is a beast 😮
When its in stock
$243 for the EVGA card in South Korea where I live
Not bad
Unless you're doing things like video editing and such the 3950X is pretty pointless for just gaming
That’s decent prices are so high here
Yep for sure
Honestly a 3600 is enough IMO just for gaming
It’s solid
10th gen i core series would be a lot better when they come out
cause the i3 will be killer
First time you're going to see a i3 with 4 cores and 8 threads
@latent bronze I do a little bit of rendering work so im exticted to see a preformace boost
i5 6 core 12 threads and i7 8 core 16 threads
But still a 3950x is way overkill but why not
That’s a nice comeback for intel
it will be 14nm++ but i don't think many would care at this point
Yeah lol
Would be funny if the i3 performance in gaming would be on par with a 3600 lol
$750 for a 3950x on bestbuy
O ok
AMD would still have the advantage for things like the Ryzen 9 cause of it being cheaper
What’s up zak
which is why i tend to think i3 and i5 will be killers
The balls in intels court
i3 is 4 core 8 thread ?
yes
i5 prices would be like the norm and people are assuming the i3's will be 125$ to 150$
Oh ok
cause there will be 3 to 4 i3's
That’s fine for intel prices
one of them of course being a K model
When are they dropping ?
Supposed to be in January
I’m guessing AMD prices will drop at least a little when intel releases
That’s very soon
Nice
Could be in early February
They might not need to
@stoic island If lets say the i3 10100 ends up being 125$ and performs similar to the R5 3600 they would need to drop the price
But if it doesnt
That would be a dream for me
Which I believe it wouldn't
Remember there are certain games that has better Intel support
The 3600 is a decent upgrade from a 2600
Look at Destiny 2 being the recommended is a i5 2400 or a R5 1600
that is a huge gap
No way it will compare
It is a locked processor yeah
There are a lot of people that doesn't overclock really
sure you got some Intel optimization, but that doesnt always come to be the case
Also there really wasnt a Zen+ 4c/8t CPU till 3400g
So 2600 was probably lowest end that was available
@latent bronze - great, now I’m going to go cancel my Ryzen 7 order
Well right now we could only assume until there is actual tests out there
Yes
You could wait a little to buy your R7 if the Intel CPUs really drop in January/Feb
And if the prices really do drop
But we’ll have to see
Anyways ill brb going across the street to order pizza before Mike's stream
There is always "you can wait"
Wait till new Intel CPUs, till new AMD CPUs then, and so on
That’s why I haven’t updated in 6 years
Wait till AM5 and ddr5
Just buy it, its not like its going to preform poorly
^
We are at a point where it seems the amount of preformance gained with every new launch is less and less. A 3000 series R7 is gonna do you good
As GN puts it, 'Are you happy with what you have now? If not then are you going to be happy with what you're buying? If so then buy it' (not exact quote but similair)
He’s right
But you need to know if what you’re going to buy is really going to make you happy
What do you guys think of this build
I think I’ll get all the parts except the gpu
I’ll wait till the price drops
Water cooling on a 200$cpu ..?
That AIO looks hella nice though
yeahhh, kinda overkill
Yep
any reason you are goning with intel at this point
Ima be overclocking too
im time
I like Intel better than amd

You can get a 512gb nvme drive for like 10$ more if you're interested
And you could get a 2060S from an actual manufacturer instead of the NVIDIA version of it
"I think I’ll get all the parts except the gpu"
Oops my bad
If your going intel it might be worth it to wait for the 10000 series in January
thats going to be big expense
Ok, well no need to ping me but It's going to be more expensive
Intel is going to have to drop prices fo the new prosccers to compete with AMD. I mean we already saw it with the 10980xe
I mean yeah, but c'mon. It's intel
Yeah, but i think hes accepting the team blue tax by choosing intel lol. Im just saying it might be worth to see what happens. If it ends up being a flop get the one he has
idk, I just say wait until 10th gen comes out, and get a 9th gen :/
because the prices will drop, and I mean the i7 9700k is like $330 on best buy of all places
Ok i am back with a extra large pepperoni and banana pepper pizza
Nice flex
banana pepper 😩
It isn't that spicy
b u t w h y
I know this is going to sound strange but if the i3 10100 performs better than my R5 2600 i am going back to Intel
ngl, I think it wont
If it does I would wait 2 generations then switch
@vestal cove Intel is overpriced tho. 3600 and 5700XT combo for fair bit cheaper and perf is better
I like overpriced things
I mean I just say get 9th gen when 10th gen comes out
Since next gen AMD is just Zen 2+
9600k is already starting to see worse 1% lows compared to 3600 and that will only continue to grow in more games
Yah I’ll probably get 9th gen when 10th gen comes out
Because if it's like what happened with amd, I don't see an issue picking up a 9th gen for a cheaper price lmao
Why get 9th if 10 is going to be so much better
Price?
Cheaper
lol
i5's will be 6 core 12 thread remember
It will
Hei it does just not enough to notice
They now have competition they'll drop
You putting alot of faith in intel
I mean look at the i7 9700k, it has dropped quite a bit
Tru
and yes I am, Because this competition pressure is going to make them drop prices
If they don't its a dumb marketing move that will cost them more
Once a new series comes out Intel basically abandons the old gen
how so?
nth gen comes out, (n-1)th gen drops like $10 in price till stock dies, then raises $50+ in price
?
^
the 8700k has only gotten cheaper if thats what you're implying
by an okay amount, but is only $10 difference to current gen
no?
I mean previous gen intel haven't had to deal with AMD Zen 2
exactly
They were just sitting on top
$30 to current gen, but not much
it's a marketing thing
they want you to get the better cpu for around the same price
All it is; is that amd stepped up and put pressure on them, they are going to start dropping prices soon
Intels old prices will only stick close to their new prices. So 9th gen and 8th gen will only be like $25 cheaper than 10th gen
8th gen will probably be $125 cheaper then 10th gen maybe
You're exaggerating a little too much there
pretty sure 8th gen will be EOL soon
I highly doubt that but believe what ya want
Dont see the 7700k being priced well so I doubt Intel will manage 3 separate series at once
I'm sure their marketing team will figure it out, I'm sure the 7th gen will be pretty cheap compared to how it was
You guys have been going on with this debate forever
It's been about 15 mins lmao, pretty lengthy
7700k is 8700k price, 7600k is 8600k price, etc
It's been a long time now
if 7th gen prices were being managed, they'd be changed by now
It's not like they just forget about them, it's that they are probably more focused on something else
