That GPU can't even run several modern games
Like it will crash getting to the menu
is there a way to check my psu voltage usage? so i know if i have to buy a new psu sooner than later since im using my 650w with my new parts (i returned my 750w one because it came with a defective 24 pin)
Hwinfo64 can report on the voltage received by mobo, gpuz can report on voltage received by GPU (hwinfo64 might too but I forgot if it does)
is there a way to calculate like total? or do i just wait for the randomly occuring pc crash if i used too much lol
Wdym calculate total
Are you trying to test the most power you use?
like, if my psu is 650w, i wanna know how much of it im using total so i know if im being too risky or anything
You can do occt power test
Or watch power draw while doing p95 small ffts and furmark
ooo alr ty!
This will stress test every component in the system to show an absolute worst case scenario. If it survives 10 minutes of this without shutting off, you're probably ok for gaming.
Yea occt is a pretty good test for pulling the most power that you would reasonably use out of everything
I find p95 smallffts does better on getting the CPU to draw more but it's not a big difference
question to all you pros: I’m building first open loop system, I have two radiators for the loop, and wondering if it’s better or matters at all whether to put the second radiator on top as an exhaust or on the bottom as an intake. And or whether it makes a difference. I already have one on the front as an intake. Cooling 14900k + soon to be (hopium) 5080 or sum, but currently a 1080ti water block. or second thought whether I should get a third radiator, but I feel that’s just overkill but idk.
The only thing that matters is that the pump is not the highest point in the loop
Iirc testing showed that you barely saw any difference beyond one huge rad, the limitation is the pump rather than having enough radiators, so I would not get 3 rads either way.
Everything else, loop order, placement, etc is up to you
But yeah don't do 3 rads unless you've got a threadripper with quad 4090s
Even then it's most likely going to be useless
aight word. I didn’t think it mattered but the more I dug up on it you just get a lot of opinions not necessarily based on performance. thinking top then just for loop placement. preciate it 🫡
Yep there's not a lot of performance difference so all there is going to be is opinions
Even if you dig deeper into loop order, putting the GPU before the CPU results in a 2 degree difference, and the reverse is also true
so like putting gpu first makes it have priority over cpu? And vice versa?
Yes on a technical level
But it's such a small difference it will have literally zero impact on performance
fair. yeah the only reason I’m goin about all this is cuz of the whole 14900k overheating phenomenon. wouldn’t have been my first choice for cpu but it was a Christmas gift so I didn’t have much of a choice. Not that I’m complaining but I just don’t want my rig blowing up 💀
i am going to use a triple car radiator
The thing about that is with the "fixes" Intel put in place it's going to cap at 253W and run at a lower voltage, so it'll be cooler
Did you see the new MO-RA? It's basically that size
lmao
||this is not actual advice do not buy||
The funny thing is the product photos don't give ANY sense of scale whatsoever, so it just looks like a triple 360
At that point just get a heat pump
For a better sense of scale here's a normal size human
Are titán x cards good?
Too dangerous for an average person
In what context? They're very old by now
Are they still good for gaming?
And if they're cheaper than the 1080ti
And how much do they sell for used
Only if it's cheaper than a 1080ti
I found a listing for 3
Titan Xp = 1080ti
Oh nice
Is titan X or Titan Xp
Because Titan X = 980TI
Titán x
Titan X = 980 ti yeah
And maxwell also doesn't have driver support nowadays
You mentioned modern games earlier, this is another example of a GPU that cannot run some of them
😞
Oh jeez
There's 3 games out now that have a hard requirement for Nvidia 2000+ or AMD 6000+ because they exclusively use ray tracing and you cannot turn it off
I’ll send
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
They are connected
Together
As one
It’s weird
SLI
Yes
Yeah that's maxwell
Funny enough that makes it worse for gaming, not better these days
Damn we really live in an age where people don't know SLI was a thing
I was searching for some gpus to flip but this is a Gpu I never heard of before
They're like the 3090s of the olden days
I know it’s a thing but I never seen that Gpu before
I found this dude selling a crap ton of 3060’s I’m waiting for his response, I might get a deal if I’m lucky 😏
If flipping is your goal then the Titan X does go for about $150, the titan branding makes them valuable even if the GPU isn't really
If it's a build and flip then yeah it's worthless but as a pure flip that could be good for a few bucks
Found a scumbag on fb marketplace selling a r5 3600 with the stock cooler and a stick of ram for 100$
🤦🏽
Yeah, I was working on some very cheap pc builds I could flip and came across those gpus
It's worth $100... In 2021
Yeah ik
I tried to purchase it for like 35$ maybe 40$ he got mad and started telling me off
Horrible dude tbh
Thats awesome
I was trying to find local used ones
Can’t find any 🙁
Might try eBay
Yall have any motherboard combos for flipping pcs?
Like any recs
For flips?
Yeah
I'd look for whole pcs
I’ve been doing that, found some decent ones, but I keep finding more like used individual parts or part bundles
I’ve been wanting to try those Ali express motherboard combos
I might buy some if this dude responds back regarding these gpus
Just wondering what memory type is Corsair’s vengeance 3200 cl16? Like Hynix or Samsung?
It's a grab bag
Could be anything
But it's usually whatever they scraped off the bottom of the trash bin
And then they set in on a trash PCB
I've seen Samsung B-die come on that bin but it wouldn't run higher than 3400
Vengeance is a waste of flash
Tbh vengeance does look nice when the rgb isn’t defective
DDR4 vengeance really ain’t bad, ddr5 is when 🤮
This is the nzxt argument
Except worse
PSA: Do not purchase Corsair Vengeance under any circumstances (unless it's DDR3)
If I may ask, what’s your bases for ddr4 Vengance for being bad?
notorious for being unstable at xmp
bargain bin dies a lot of the time
random revisions being different dies
It's the single kit with the most people coming in here with memory problems to have
It's not just in here either
It's at the point where people don't even tell me the specs, just a description of the issue, and I'll say "let me guess, corsair ddr4?" and they're amazed because I'm right.
Other tech servers have reported the same issue
And on tech fourms
It's very widespread
True
I got lucky
I overclocked mines kek
Also the only real issue with corsair DDR5 is they'll often lock the PMIC, which prevents you from changing the voltage.
What about the quality control?
Or are they just bad for the price rather than bad because they're usually faulty
Mid ahhh
So it's still "cheapest kit (with same freq and CL) is better"
Cl16 prak
If the difference is small then I'd rather avoid a restrictive brand, for the future when you might want to overclock and need more than 1.25v.
That's about the price of the 5600 XT right now, which beats the 6500 XT by about 50%
The 6500 XT is the single worst GPU that AMD has launched this past decade imo
It's even sometimes worse than the 5500 XT
Particularly on lower end builds where you don't have PCIe 4.0
🙁
Oh
Understandable
I just needed something to put into this pc I’m going to flip
Something from Radeon 5000 series would be good enough
tbf
probably easier to flip something with a 6500xt than a 5500xt since bigger number = better frfr
at least to buyers
Only if you want to be the seller that takes advantage of people's ignorance
This does unironically work
I found a motherboard, cpu, and ram combo for 100$ too so this is a pretty decently cheap pc
Yeah 😭
no worse than most prebuilt companies
infinitely better than nzxt
thts a new low
lmao
Actually the 5500 is worse because it's only PCIe 3.0
maybe i should start my own pc rental service frfr
i will rent you a 1080 pc for $50 a month
thats intresting
i guess it only matters on gpus that use 8 lanes
I'd love to see someone put a 4090 on that and wonder why they get low fps
And low util
I assume you mean that the vengeance is the restrictive one
yes
If it's $2 more for a better one I'll take that one fr
Does that even happen?
Oh yeah definitely
For DDR5 usually corsair is the overpriced one
RAM pricing is separated by pennies at this point
Yeah I see CL32 and CL30 that's just a ten cents apart

cl28 superriority
I have seen cl28 perform worse than cl32, recently even
wtf how
Something about the memory controller doesn't like it
what where the other timings, subs and poo
Identical, nothing changed but CAS
Yep
I don't know if it happens on Intel too since normally people that tweak go for higher frequency on that platform
intel
speed
*memory speed
Has anyone that built they pc or know about pc could message me if ya have a second for a question please
You can ask the question here
used 3070 or New 7700xt
Price of both?
used 3070: 300-400
Yeah no
New 7700xt:400-450
New def
$350+ is overpriced
And even under $350 is meh
What about used 2080ti?
well im trying to get to 1440p
and with a 5600x
because i play mainly story games
2080ti is around 3070 performance
even at 1440p?
Might even be better at higher res
Since it has more vram
And ESPECIALLY in AAA
And story games
Where you crank the graphics up
The vram would come in handy
im also looking at the 4070 once it floods the used market with the 50s coming out
What about 6900XT?
price?
Around $699 new
Not sured about used
That'd outperform a 4070
If you could find it cheap used post 50 series launch
Tariffs may make that tricky
yeah, thats the big headache and the reason ive been looking used
6900xt at $700 new is crazy, unless this isn't USD
Id pay around $425 for one atm
6800xt should be like $350-375
Oh sorry
I meant 7900xt
Yeah do not get the 6900xt
At 1440p, a 6900xt/6950xt/3080 ti or lower would be a fine pairing with the 5600x
Something with 12-16gb will last you longer especially for 1440p
Bacca
Hi
Considering you're looking around $400, you should definitely be able to find a 3080 12gb or 6800xt
Since 11gb vram
There's upsides and downsides, but personally I'm taking the 2080 ti
2080 ti has older dlss and rtx, personally idc. Higher power draw, less stable power draw especially if its an early revision, runs hotter
But that extra vram is nice to have, and imo at the same price makes it a better choice than a 3070
6700xt/6750xt would be better tho
so i just fliped to ebay and 6700xt for 325?
Used?
random question, got new mobo new cpu. was wondering if it was normal if boot times are supposed to be stupidly slow? im guessing it's for the first few boots since new parts
and also if it's normal for during that boot time red light on mobo to be there, then go away completely after it boots to windows
Update your bios and it gets faster
Typically
The debug leds cycling through on startup is normal
(and yellow and white on asus)
You move your ram turns into Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666 CL16
oo alr will do when i boot it tommorow.
gigabyte mobo. but im just guessing it's normal since it's only before it even goes to the "gigabyte" screen on the start up that it shuts off
most companies just have 4 leds that light up red, asus does red green white and yellow
aSUS
i just fjnd it super comical how getting new mobo, my first boot went from the usual 7.9s boot time (atleast according to task manager) all the way to 29.3 LOL
5600x
MSI B550 Pro
Corsair DDR4 3600 32 Gigs
1 tb m.2 NVME (will get more later)
6700xt
Corsair 650w psu
Opinons?
might want to make sure you have the right drivers for everything btw
less corsair would be better, but need specifics on the psu
Corsair RM650 (2023) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
ik im spending more on Fully Modular
Any memory but that one
yeah?
Single worst kit in existence
Highest rates of failure and often unable to run rated speed out of the box
the corsair 3600c18 kit really sucks
Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB?
better
RM650 is fine, it's just a bit expensive in general
i hate ppl from my highschool aint gonna hold you, thats where i got my corsair knowlage from and just went "Ok"
Corsair is one of those brands that used to be good, but aren't now and they're riding that old reputation
650 psu recommendations?
The power supplies are still good though, because they're not the ones making them lol
only thing i installes was new intel cpu so prob nothing to update there, mobi does have gigabyte control center but that's prob bloatware
I'm partially convinced johnyguru is the only guy keeping corsair's psus good lol
Yea that's just bloatware
They were at least the first major brand to push for cybenetics ratings so they seem committed to keeping them good
PFFT fair enough. any recommendations how update bios? i heard you usually need a usb but not sure
Yep you'll need a USB that's FAT32 format
aw man
You have a couple of options, look at your manual
ik gigabyte makes a hell of a gpu but how are theirs psus?
One explosive, one decent, the rest unproven
spooky
it's a great lesson in why knowing specific model matters
ap-gm, pretty decent
p-gm, can blow up
so ud?
ud-gm is ok
tbh might just go with MSI
nothing great nothing bad
UD-GM is B tier, good enough for your setup
for MSI, A-GF is great, A-BN is ok
thank all of you for answering my questions
Do you have any alternatives to the 6500XT?
Pcie gen 3 will cripple performance on it
Due to the 6500XT only having 8 gen 4 lanes because AMD is cheap
You could likely find a $40-50 b450, thats be better
Used 2600/3600/2700x, etc. B550/3600 would be nice for gen 4.0
Ik youre reselling but it makes a massive difference for the 6500xt
PCIe 4.0 started with 500 series chipsets and 3000 series CPUs, with a few exclusions like G sku APUs and the 5500 that stick with 3.0
If you're sticking with a PCIe 3.0 system then you would be better off with a 5500 XT GPU, it will perform noticeably better in that situation
I have a
Ryzen 7 2700X
Asus Rog Strix B450 F Gaming
Nvidia GForce RTX2060 Super Mini
G.Skill Ripjaws F4-3600C1 2x8 16 gb
When I was playing my game went to task manager
CPU 45%
Memory 80%
GPU 91% 76 C
I only play GTA Five M and Assetto Corsa
Is any of this bad or what should I change or upgrade? I don’t play to much
"Only upgrade once the games you play don't run like you want them to"
Well the game has been doing a little lagging and not loading the map as quick
I dont even know my fps on there i play at 1440
I just want the map to load a little better and less lag
do you have an SSD?
Also im not sure how to update anything so nothing been updated prob since 2020 like someone was telling me the drivers
Ssd and Hdd
at least you load the game from the SSD right?
But i put the game on hdd im sure
There's your mistake
Not 100% sure
loading from SSD is the big thing
Im double check that
Like i tryed to do the ssd for pc stuff my 1 hdd for games and the next hdd for pics and vids
Just transition all your games to an SSD and it'll improve your load times massively
Second SSD for games would be an easy upgrade suggestion
as for lagging I'm not entirely sure how much higher you can go without a CPU upgrade
SSD is only a small 250 gb and its filled up my local disk
I only got a 250 cause i was ony using it for windows and stuff
but a 5700X3D would be a really good upgrade, and you can combine a 7900 GRE with that
2tb SSD (whichever is the cheapest honestly) as your first upgrade
and if that doesn't solve your issues, I'd get a 5700X3D and probably a 7900 GRE
it'd be a big investment, but that's probably the most you can do
Stupid question but is it easy to put in a ssd or can i put 2 in my pc?
Should i get to for my pics / vids editing or that doesnt really matter as much
2
Could you send me which one you recommend me to get and would you get used or no
Just get the cheapest 2tb SATA SSD you can get new
I'd not recommend gambling on used storage if you don't know how to check up on it
Got it and so like my local disk has 0 room and im not a 100% if my games transfered to my hdd is
is it easy to swap to the ssd
Ye just plug it in, format and use
assuming it's SATA
NVME might be more involved cuz the slot might not be easy to access
Issokay
Lol thanks i hope
Sucks cause i downloaded most things and filled my local disk up all the way
Now im trying to learn about moving them to the hdd but i thought they was already on there
My local disk is filled up and trying to unistall 15gb it says of temp files but nothing gets deleted
I'm returning with an old issue (I never resolved it because I was too busy with life to focus on my pc)
I've found that one thing my computer hates is fullscreen
Terraria (a piss easy to run 2d pixel game) runs at abysmal framerates and flickers, except when I go to windowed mode, then it runs fluidly as it always has on weaker devices for me
I still also get that issue that mostly happens when an AAA game (i.e. Tekken or COD in fullscreen) is open, where other apps fail to update frames correctly
For instance, I could click on #general-chat, and the left third of the screen will adjust accordingly, but the right half will still be on the same screen I'm looking at right now, but will update if my cursor goes across the un-updated frames as if it were an eraser
I've made sure my drivers are fully updated and my GPU is properly installed
Am I gonna have to DDU this
if you haven't already
hi!
I can try and help
you got a list of your pc parts? Like a pcpp, or if it's prebuilt a link to the exact model?
I can try to find it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6800, Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
You run one monitor or multiple?
Yeah I'd try ddu
@forest lava DDU isn't that bad I promise
i'd do DDU first
if nothing
try AMD's cleaner
The board and everything on it. $200. I have really nice friends :)
(5900X and 64GB)
Also getting a 6800 XT from him for $200
Tf
I have really nice friends :)
I wasn't lying lol
A water cooled, practically babied like an old man's Vette, 6800 XT
Clicking the "auto overclock" setting in Radeon drivers rather than manually OC'ing
Ur friends with jay leno?
The CPU is what I’m worried about though. He tried pushing that as high as he could go with that
Old man like the real elon musk?
Nah but that would be sick 💀
Did real elon musk sell you the gpu
Lmao
Wait he only uses teslas nvm
Elon would sell it for $200 more than what others are selling it at. Business people don't slack on making money
Or he'll cut you a deal cos you'll make him money
I'd try to make a deal like that if I could tbh
💀
he uses a tesla k80
bruh my windows 7 is so annoying
fr
At least Win7 isn't getting full screen ads that crash the computer telling you to upgrade to Win11
true but it wont even boot anymore
like the lights turn on but black screen
the hdmi port is torn out but its hdmi is connected through the small video card in there
probably need a new motherboard lmao
Thoughts on swapping some of my fans around? this new gpu has a blow-through cutout at the end which might feed hot air to the cpu
Current flow
Proposed flow (I'd move the CPU fan to the other side
Whole side of the case is mesh so can't really have too much positive pressure
I ended up not doing it, for now at least, because two of the case fans are mounted with zip ties and I don't feel like redoing that
Hmm
You also forgot to make the arrows for the PSU since it looks like it's also intake inside the case
I think the 2nd image makes more sense for your configuration
Should have less turbulence
PSU intakes from the front of the case and exhausts out the top
Oh
I saw the cable location and thought it was inside intake
I think I mixed it around lmao
No worries
In this case though, hmm
But yeah anyways imma try it for a little while without moving anything and see how the cpu temps are
Tbh as long as you're getting air flow in and out of the case in the places that need air, you'll be fine I'd expect
Airflow optimization past that bar is only going to give you minimal difference
I've thought about doing custom 3d printed ducting
More of a fun hobby project than a necessity for performance though
alright yall its about that time again where I am going to probably put my 5600x 3070 gpu b550 motar tomhawk motar build to rest its time for a upgrade I think. Could you all help me get a build going I am looking to save it on newegg for awhile so I can make it my goal to eventually buy a new pc. had this rig for a good 5 years. I know the 50 series are coming out but I heard many bad things about them at least so far. So I will still wait and see the reviews but for now lets go with the 40 series cards.
What's your budget and use for it? Also, any list we make can only be relevant for right now, it'll have to be remade whenever you're about to buy it
well just trying to get a decent build so I am not to far behind cause again I been hearing alot of bad things about the 50 series so price wise lets aim for 1500 again oh a a good air flow case please oh it the build would be for gaming
Just try both methods and look at cpu temp
^
I am fine with just whatever idea you got I will look at it right away
just so I can get a idea of what I need to look at
barely 2 generations old and you are gonna do a full upgrade?
-# aliexpress 5700x3d
if the games you play arent struggling to run on your rig, you might want to wait till another generation, or at least until amd unveils the next gen of gpus
Full upgrade with those specs is
Ehhh
You'd have to spend a lot for diminishing returns
well I am still all ears though if you got any remmodations
what games do you play
mainly I am just looking to get a bit more of a step up. is the 40 series form my 3070 not really much of a jump up? I play games like warzone overwatch marval rivals not really looking to get into 4k what not. Oh and hunt showdown shows a little lack luster in performance
Especially if you have a 3070 too
I'd wait 1-2 generations since 50 series might be a disappointment
So what is the best Motherboard for 7700X also for 7800xt
Should i stick with GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2
what about ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS WIFI AMD B650 AM5 Ryzen
Well first off, did you order all of the other parts yet and just need a mobo?
Personally I'd suggest the b650 eagle ax or gaming plus wifi
Gigabyte/msi
I did not ordered anything rn
Whats your budget for the whole pc?
Ryzen 7700x, Rx 7800 xt
If youre just gaming, id highly suggest the 7600x instead. The extra two cores don't help for games
no for everything tbh not only for gaming
Whats everything? Do you plan to do anything heavy like coding, music production, video editing, blender, etc?
Or just stuff like streaming, gaming, web browsing
yes streaming gaming, browsing
Yeah the 7600x will do the same thing
You should use gpu encoding for streaming anyways
And web browsing can be done with less than one core
Are you in the US?
No, from Kuwait
no newegg kuwait
but help me with motherboard
i heard for my friend that gcc is a lot of problems
software problems
7600x, b650 eagle ax for mobo, 32gb 6000c30 from teamgroup, 1-2tb ssd ill find exact model later, cheapest 7800xt, montech xr, and 850w thermaltake gf3
?
What?
Could also do h5 flow or 903 max for case
Oh nah it's fine
You could go msi b650 gaming plus wifi if you want
Personally I don't like msi bios
what about GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2
If youre fine with an matx mobo, the b650m pro rs wifi is just as good
Overpriced but fine
The difference in cost would be better spent either on gpu or saved
I suggested this and the eagle ax because they're good at reasonable prices
I don't suggest others because they're either not good or are overpriced.
what about for 7700x, 7800 xt what is the best motherboard
If you put a 9950x in a $400 mobo and that mobo here it would perform the same
also eagle and msi ?
There isn't a best motherboard, just get a motherboard that won't limit the rest of your pc. I suggested those because they are good products.
The b650 plus from asus is meh
Aight man
I'm done with this
Any recommendations for quick -- travel/vacation-worthy gaming laptops? I have to travel soon and these prices look way cheaper than I was expecting...
Just looking to do light gaming, nothing high intensity. GF sleeps 4-8 hours longer per day than I do and I am trying to fill the void with some live service RPG's I play.
@cyan ravine and @obsidian wigeon know laptops the best, id wait for one of them to pop by
i need the toppest without problems thats why i'm afraid lol
Theres ofc a few other people here who are knowledgeable abt them theyre just my gotos for laptops
yea I'm a tower PC kind of guy, but I need something and my work laptop is no longer an option...
Your pc will perform better if you would spend less on certain areas, and spend more on the gpu or cpu.
I just realised this is the same guy from last month
A $300 motherboard doesn't improve your performance over a $150 motherboard
Isn't this the fourth time you've tried to tell him the same thing
I'm so sorry bacca
Of course don't cheap out on components, but that doesnt mean throw money at them.
It's like having 128gb ram when your programs barely use 32gb. You have all that ram and absolutely no reason to use it
You have an expensive asf mobo, psu, case, ram (i don't know that, I'm just making an example) and not enough gpu and cpu power to justify it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
This might sound a bit unprofessional but
nice
If you're going to ask for recommendations and then not listen and come back several weeks later and ask the exactly same question
Please don't
It's very disrespectful
i did lol
Just dont ask me multiple times if the product I'm suggesting is actually OK when im saying it is
This is the same guy from last month who came in with different accounts
nicknames*
They're new accounts
Yeah he just changed his name it was a misunderstanding
Some of the other accounts are green
sorry guys but thanks for help!
I put too much thermal paste on my cpu but its ok, doesn't really hurt the cpu right? and plus I had a contact frame on so it doesn't really get messy
but I feel like my fans are on the wrong way because I can feel the heat from the bottom of the case
yes, it's best to keep it out of the pins/socket but other than that, it's non-conductive and can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol
I kinda did that
Just cuz I wanted to get the best thing possible
Oh you don't understand
I don’t
You didn't come across as disrespectful to us
@cyan ravine the cpu came and everything should be here by next weekend
I’m so happy for u guys
Cuz I feel like I can trust u
That know what u do
So I don’t have to double check the builds
Really makes building my first one less stressful
you talking to the wrong dude
That's the great thing about this server we find you the best bang for the buck
?
Even if I’m hard stuck to Amazon
was this dude here
He was on a different account
oh wait
?
oh lol
i thought you were still talking to the first guy lmao
What that guy was doing
Yeah no
Noo
lol
Just got a bit annoyed that's all
I get it
I get rlly annoyed when people are not being respectful when they came for your help
This happens to me in bedwars lol
im so glad i dont play bw much anymore
How good were u
i used to daily it with my friends in 2020/21
It’s not that fun
i was good but not sweaty good
The new update killed it
It's literally a clicking fest post 2020
I just play ranked
1.8.9 pvp is so frustrating now
Especially if you have latency issues
like i was good at pvp, could bridge fast, but people who were top tier easily outplayed me
Yeah
YES
People can click you and you can't hit them
So annoying
1.9+ pvp is so much better
It’s also server side
i started playing mc in like 2013
I started ~2013-2015
I can’t do 1.9 cuz I’m to laggy and get 80 fos
im still ok at pvp but im washed
Fps
Around 1.8
We should play fr
let me finish this val game and im down lmao
Really
Mabye not tonight
I'd be down for mc too
Cuz I’m so tired
For nostalgia sakes
fair
Even thought it’s 7:30
it is 11:30
💀
2:30pm here
oh lmao
Alaskan time is crazy
Cold
In terms of cost of living
It’s ok
And accessibility
But i like it
With the downside being that it's alaska
We don't get snow in Queensland, Australia sadly
lol
At least where I live
lol
So humid
We're usually the hottest
IT'S SO BAD
See
The tiny spiders that make it here make me go crazy
lol
Spiders are your friends
lol
And they're EVERYWHERE
Yea
Once spring comes around there's billions of webs
I couldn’t
If would drive me nuts
What time is it for u in 13 hr
That’s usually when I game
So like if u are awake we could run back some games for ur nostalgia
And win
Cuz I’m crazy I swear
like 2-3am unfortunately
yikes
What time do u wake
Any time from 6-10am
oh nice
Probably not tbh
Haven't played MC 1.8.9 in way too long
It was a good idea tho
Thanks for the offer
Yeah
I tried to get back into mcpvp
Instant death
Before I could realise what happened
Yea
Like
Most ppl that are sweaty
Suck
Cuz u need gamesense
Unlike so other PvP games
Cuz I’m not that good but I know how to win almost every game now
Yeah even R6 siege is less sweaty lmao
Ah
Reminds of me back in the day
I was pff
12-13 when I got onto mc
That game was my childhood
Yea
I learnt English off Minecraft btw
I’ve played it for like 7 years
This isn't my first language
That’s crazy
Thos Korean guy in ranked learned English off ranked
Which was crazy
Cuz he’s fluent now
DanTDM has children
Stampy retired
I'd say it's been replaced with a different generation of MC youtubers
Yea
That community moved on and now it's a new community
There are OGs still around like Ethoslab
Like kids content
The hermitcraft people are a part of OG MC that still sticks around
my names from JeromeASF
It’s not super popular tho
my first mc username was TheTrueBacca9
ive been too uncreative to think of anything else since then lmao
I think mines TrueBaccaFTW now
My steam profile is also the same profile picture I had when the account was created
It's a mario pic
When I was really into mario
I haven't touched it
Nintendo pls don't sue
gn 👍🏻
Is having no hdmi port connected the motherboard the reason my windows 7 won't turn on?
Bent my Motherboards Capacitor by the GPU and now it's giving me CPU and DRAM red LED Lights.
Any recommended Motherboards? I can only fit a Micro ATX
Readjusted my CPU checked for any damages, then tried out different ram slots and nothing 100% a dead mobo.
:(((
I know 5090 is not out, but what would PSU would you guys recommend for a 9800x3D + 5090 build assuming it does not have extremely terrible transients?
9800x3d sits around 120w in games, 1000w should be plenty
1000 is the recommended
850 could be fine
750 probably only fine with a power limit on the GPU
I believe you can run a 4090 on a 750 if you had an efficient CPU
I don't think that's gonna be the case with the 5090
yeah definitely
rm750e ive seen at least two separate occasions running 7800x3d/4090
need a 1.2k CAD gaming build, tower only
Finally somebody cooked in #build-pics
#build-pics message
I need to figure out a gaming rig thats Micro-Atx with a handle for traveling. Like a travling desktop.
Micro-Atx parts/cases are hard to work with but maybe you guys have some ideas
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QfWR4p
pieces aren’t the best, but you get the gist
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Arc B580, Jonsbo Jonsplus Z20 MicroATX Desktop
Perfect thanks man, trying to decide if I want to just use my laptop when I move to Tennessee or build a micro-atx desktop & sell my current desktop.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Arc B580, Jonsbo Jonsplus Z20 MicroATX Desktop
Is there supposed to be a dgpu?
Wdym
I have my upgrade
I just want to get this one revived

Where the hdmi is supposed to be
You think I'd be better buying a new motherboard?@plucky timber
Don't know if it fits standard ATX though
Iirc HP had some proprietary motherboards for a few years
Black screen, but lights on the pc still turn on
Ello, i made my own build now can someone look if its good or if i need to change anything?
Your Account
There's some old refurbished ones
Please post the raw link without a login
Hmmm
You can also make the list public
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
Like this @valid burrow
The link should look similar
I read it might be something with my SSD but wonder if it's because the hdmi connection is severed
If you edit a saved list it brings you to a page where you can grab the actual link
Ohh ok
which turns that link, which is tied to your account, into a link that's not tied to you
Ok
On it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Radeon RX 6600, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Soooo
that works
can i install a Windows 10 for free?
Yes, as long as you have an extra usb stick, you can install windows without an activation key
How
Learn how to create installation media for installing or reinstalling Windows.
Ohh thanks
I would make some changes, what's your budget for this?
You can use se.pcpartpicker.com then, that list is a good bit over unless you're using local stores?
https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/w7pw3w
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Radeon RX 6600, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
I need the 32gb ram and the 2tb ssd
Or are you trying to buy the parts while somewhere else?
No i just wanna know what parts i can get for the price, approximately
Prices in the US are pretty different from other countries, are you trying to look at parts in the US or parts in Sweden?
Im gonna buy them on friday
Sweden
Its easier with guarantee
Seems like it'll end up being more expensive than 7000sek even cutting some corners there
https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/fXFNpK
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Radeon RX 6600, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Ill see
Some of them arent available is Swedish shops
The case, power supply and memory
What exactly are you using?
What do u mean?
Proshop, webbhallen, komplett, netonnet
So Amazon is not possible?
No
I think i can survive without 2tb ssd
1tb ssd can be fine
But a fish tank case would be nice instead
Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case is nice but expensive
Any chance you can get a 5600/x over the 5500?
Thought about that
It's far better and supports pcie 4.0, which isn't as important for the 6600 as the 6500xt, but its still good to have
But it is to expensive i think
The 5500 is basically a renamed 3600 that doesn't support pcie 4.0
My max budget is 7000 sek
Updated to not use Amazon, still 1000sek over budget

Ono
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6600, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Oh but that's with amazon
Just a mobo bios version warning, it's a non issue
The motherboard has a bios flashback button
12100f is 800kr, but thats only on amazon
Yea, my parents want me to only buy from "Swedish stores" because of the guarantee is safer here
they dont trust first party amazon?
No they think Amazon by experience have bad customer support
damn lmao
I hate bezos as much as the next person but I wouldnt pay more to avoid amazon
Ik it's not your choice it's your parents
Chat, is a 3080 used good upgrade from a 4060
Depends on price and your psu
Also which 3080 is it, 10gb or 12?
Personally if I'm upgrading atp I'm going for a 12-16gb card, but raw performance wise the 3080 is a lot better either way. It's like a 50% upgrade
It’s for my friend, not sure which psu but I belive it’s 650w with a 5500 as a cpu, and the 10gb cause 12gb doesn’t seem easy to find
Psu doesn’t seem to be a concern to me with the cpu being such low power
Not sure about a 3080 on 650w
I was looking at maybe getting one and it pulls over 300W gaming with peaks to around 400w
Undervolt can help some, but a power cap is likely going to reduce performance
Bump
The 3080 will not be fine on a 650w, the 5500 will heavily limit the 3080, and whats the cost
This isn't how 3080s work
So I can’t go into Msi burner and say, 250w go
3080s have very high power spikes to the point it was tripping high quality 850w psus
A 650w, especially one we don't know the name of, will not be ok.
40 series power spikes are much more controlled than 40 series
3080/90 would spike up to 3x their regular power
4070 id trust on a decent 450w with a 5500 lmao
TPU and any other site with PSU suggestions don't cover the fact GA102 (3080+) have up to 600W transients
So yeah Bacca is completely correct
L tpu
The suggests may or may not apply depending on how sensitive the PSUs ocp is, the recommendation is going to work fine for average power
It's more of a problem for multi rail units, but it can also be a problem for like a 650w single rail unit
It also doesn't talk about units that can handle power excursion spec
Which was a post-ampere technology
Ye as long as the psu is good but the cpu isn't aggressive power, it can work
I have tripped a 3080 on 750W before. The psu quality matters a lot
Theres no good way to tell if it'll work or not, don't think anyone even tests for <20ms spikes, iirc 20ms is the lowest people test for
GN did tests I think for sub 20
For the PSU?
For ampere
It also is a case of polling, sensors can still detect at that instant point of transmission that the power is way beyond spec
For example, the 4090 can be gaming at like, 300W, then out of nowhere the rails report 700W in a single moment
Lol
The nomenclature is sub 20 is generally ignored but it can still cause issues
Though the 4090 is a different beast, the idea is similar, just not as high lol
Yea I'm just referring to how like how earlier Seasonic gx/px were really sensitive to those sub 20 spikes and would often trip when 30xx released, there's no good way to tell if the PSU is going to be sensitive to it or not, and how sensitive it'll be
I have one of those yeah
What are other used gpus to look out for
Rdna 2 is just as bad if not worse
Both gens improved a lot going on after that as GN was making opinion pieces about bad power
Rdna2 6000 gpus
