Yeah you messed up the repaste
You also mentioned repadding, and I'm guessing the pads you bought aren't the right thickness, either. Or you didn't compress them enough
Which would result in less contact with the heatsink 🙂
For the die
Scared them away, oopsies
can someone look at this build im trying to make and give me any pointers for the system? ive been outta the pc building world for a bit and dont want to make the wrong call https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KMWLRK
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX Desktop
also what would be the best cooler for a mini ITX build
Don't get that board
Because with AM5, you don't need to pay above $150 for a very capable board
what would recommend i look at?
This is for example
jesus
Is this a gaming rig?
yes
Alright
Here's my list, foxys prolly making one rn
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RZMQWt
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX Desktop
If you didn't buy the gpu I'd change it some more
And if you're not set on the case there's other options
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX Desktop
This is assuming you haven't bought anything
yea i havent bought anything just yet
not trying to restrict myself because i bought one thing i gotta work around
Any reason you chose nvidia?
I'd consider the psu in bacca's list tho
SFX psus are highly sensitive to transients
thank you all for the help
This is MATX, but it's very very small
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zGQvyg
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
last time i was here nvidia was the biggest go to
so i figured id start there
If you're not set on nvidia, 7900 gre or 7900xt would be a better choice imo
I'd rather have the extra vram for down the line
Could also do a 4080
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/77VPBL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
Zotac has 4080s for $890 open box as well
thank yall for putting me in the right direction and helping
imma go through these and figure out what i wanna do
One last question
Why is that nvme drive $200
o the im01 is back in stock
Got a monitor?
lmao
It's $130
^
i see 130
The MB is no priced
You're probably missing a retailer source or 12
Did you filter your pcpp to exclude those
Weird
Click where it says "storage" and expand the merchant list on the left with the +
Where control

Clear it from app settings
no i do not
any idea what youd want to spend on one?
im looking at doing a 2 monitor set up
not really wanting to spend over 650 on those
I'd get one from this list
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zx8qz6
Part List
If you go 4k, drop the cpu down to the 7600 and I would get at least the 7900xt or 4070 ti super, preferably the 7900xtx or 4080 super

u still got a good under a 1000 dollar build
if u have prebuilt that work too
Few min

a good cpu would be nice with good storage
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 7600, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
thank you
Oh I do have a prebuilt option
send
i might sell my pc and build a pc with something u sent lol
also when im giving him my pc can i just remove the ssd and put in a new one?
i need to redownload windows right?
Wtf was autocorrect here
Lmao
Yeah new windows
Yeah
i mean i dont mind xD
10400f 1660 super
Single channel 16gb ddr4 and 256gb ssd, so would at least need more storage
And im going to look at some others in a sec
6700xt 5500 32 gigs ram for 750 dollars is aight?
Yeah
So ...I might go am5 after all
how do i check ssd compatibility on motherboard
As in what PCIe gen they support or size, or SATA vs NVMe?
i have ssd in my pc how do i know if a ssd will work on my motherboard
like i wanna put in a new ssd
You can check manufacturer specs on the board's product page
ok
Make sure you check the right board page... Some manufacturers have revisions of the same board, but it shouldn't be an issue even then haha
alright, ill see, thank u
i have this ssd in my pc rn, https://www.amazon.com/SolidigmTM-Internal-Solid-State-SSDPFKNU010TZX1/dp/B0B983Y4QD?th=1, will this ssd work on my pc too? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9Y3DB2K?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
Yea
thank you
No issue at all unless you have some weird ass board or the slot is deadge
Only thing to note is that if you run a gen3 drive in a gen4 slot, then it will run at gen3 speeds. Backwards compatible
alright
thank you, i will buy the ssd
I'm hoping someone can help me. I screwed uo my pc the other day when I went to install a ssd. I accidentally pooled it, and had a hell of a time trying to take it out of the pool. So I tried to do a restore point and that scred it up even more. I eventually got the drive out and formatted, but now all my app won't work. Stream launches games then crashes. And steam VR womt work correctly. I keep getting errors.
Probably chkdsk tbh
Sorry guys git it all fixed now. Had to do a memory scan. And it fixed it. Now I am having an issue where it's only reconizing 16 out of the 32 gb of ram I just installed. It's an alienware r12 and I installed 2x16gb corsair vengeance pro 3000hrz. I tried going into bios, but it doesn't let you adjust damn near anything. Is there something I can do or haven't done. Also at first I had them in the 2 and 4 slot. Then I changed them to the 1 and 3 slot. Same effect.
memory scan????
also normally you should have it in 2 and 4
and yeah oem bios' are usually quite locked down/featureless
Hey so I just built a new pc got everything plugged in and turned it on the monitor is staying black my mouse and keyboard also staying off and I see a red cpu light on the mobo I have an b650 aorus elite ax with a 7800x3d I reseated everything unplugged and plugged everything back in and even flashed the bios and it still has the red cpu light anyone have any advice should I just rebuild the pc make sure I didn’t miss anything? or should I just exchange the mobo
Did you bend any pins in the socket?
@crimson zinc
https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/s/FyXSzBsN6z
4 hours
I have a new pc I just built it has a ryzen 5 7600x on a x670 AORUS ELITE AX and everytime I turn it on a get a red light next to my ram it goes away once it boots up and everything I just want to know if it’s a bad thing I have done a flash on my bios because I’m too scared and don’t know how to do it
So it boots into OS and you're not experiencing any issues while running it?
Then no problem, just your motherboard initializing hardware and checks before boot up
🙂
And I'd recommend going into BIOS, disabling fastboot, and you good
yeah i mean i blue screened once before i had all my windows updatings but Have been fine otherwise everything is running normally
Oh fast boot is already disabled
That's the pc going through the boot process. That's what the red leds are
Well me and my friend are taking it apart anyway for some cable management so we will probably double check everything again anyway
On GB it's 4 red lights
Ah I see
Completely normal if they all go off before windows
Ok good to know thank yall very much
I have an lga1151 system that can run up to 2666mhz and I need more ram for it, would it be alright if I bought a 3200mhz/3600mhz kit instead since those are cheaper
Or should I buy a 2666mhz kit
I mean if it's cheaper
Or you can buy some OEM sticks
If those are any cheaper with rated speeds you want
Alright sounds good
I wanna build a pc with the intel arc a770 what would be a good cpu to pair with it
Depends on the total budget for the build
just around 1500
I'd get a far better gpu than that honestly
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
i just like the way it looks the pc is just for aesthetes anyway
Then you can surely spend less than 1.5k and get a very aesthetics focused build around an A770
fair
thats just the limit i have
i was thinking of going with the i5-13600K
but idk
would anyone be willing to give feedback for a stupid build idea
I have an old 9400f hp prebuilt chilling in my house and I was wondering if I should case swap and buy a new gpu for it
its mostly the way it looks i like the way the sparkle a770 titan looks
Have you looked at any other options aesthetically?
or i could wait till the battlemage gpus come out
they look alright not exactly what im looking for but i shall take them into consideration
I think this looks kinda interesting https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6CkH99/pny-xlr8-gaming-verto-epic-x-rgb-oc-geforce-rtx-4070-super-12-gb-video-card-vcg4070s12tfxxpb1-o
That'd be a good idea
New cpus come out soon too
Supposedly anyways
Okey last link I'm spamming
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tNJgXL/asrock-taichi-oc-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-24-gb-video-card-rx7900xtx-tc-24go
@mossy venture thoughts?
Swapping case you'd have to swap psu and motherboard too
Since hp pre builts are OEM
Salvageable parts would be cpu, ram, possibly cpu cooler, gpu, and storage
And the ram is likely slow asf
Yeah but at least 3 of the standoffs line up and i'd still have rear I/O tho right
This is true yeah its stuck at 2666
Well I meant i just measured sorry
Only one way to find out
YouTube would probably have answers
True
Gamemax m60 is $35, MATX so if it's an ATX build it won't work
But cheap not horrible case
Is this motherboard okay?
my other local options for a b365 are the asrock pro4 and gigabyte ds3h
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
How good is this build?
Yeah, along with some very light stuff that any old computer could handle
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
You could do something like this, save a bit on the GPU, and spend the rest of your $500 budget elsewhere.... Like maybe on peripherals
Or just completely irrelevant to the PC entirely. Go buy yourself 40 bowls of ramen from a good restaurant
Idk what kinda case you want
But i just chose one that is affordable/budget and looks decent for $60 lol
Per my preference at least
10/10 best suggestion
all at once?
You could do it all at once, or go once a week for 40 weeks (but prices might inflate)
so, buddy bought a prebuilt a while back and is having issues. apps/games randomly crash and he bluescreens from time to time.
i have no idea whats going on with it
but he tried resetting it and redownloading windows
also made sure that drivers are up to date
temps seem to be ok thru hwmonitor
Try disabling xmp
And make sure ram is in right slots
Yeah
Most mobos it's slots 2 and 4
Assuming it's not a two slot board
ok so can't find xmp in bios?
ram is in correct spots
What mobo
that i am not sure of i can try to find out but he is not pc savvy at all lol
Microstar international pro z790-p wifi (ms-7e06) is what he said
Ah, MSI
Should be under OC settings in advanced mode, or you can just turn off XMP by clicking the "XMP" tab
In EZ mode
Alrighty will check

Hello, first time pc builder here. Would this be the correct chat to post my parts list and get some advice from some experienced people?
Around $2-2500, mainly gaming, but it’ll be used for some programming stuff as I am going to school for Comp. Sci. And country U.S
I have been doing a lot of research already and have a build list on newegg, I’ll share the screenshots. (And yes I know that the AIO I chose is completely unnecessary I just really like the aesthetic look of it) I mainly am unsure about the motherboard and psu I chose.
Send me a link then
Because honestly, that much money can probably get you a 4090 pc
Travelling?
No
Moving between dorm and home a lot
No I live at home. My schooling is online
Is that link working for you guys ?
@solar fossil can you stretch budget over 2.5
Also are you ok with black
Actually I don't think I can make white really fit at all with what I'm working on here
I’m trying to stick with an all white build. I really like that nzxt case look in white. But I’ll be open to looking at whatever you got. I first wanted to know if what I have on my list is okay or if I’m overlooking any parts or features on any parts like on that motherboard.
I can't do all white for a 4090 7800X3D build
Not without going quite a long way over budget
There's really no breathing room here, I can almost barely make it fit under 2500
Actually not with that case, better off going slightly over
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
Ram kit you'll do the XMP manually with me, takes 5 minutes, the kit can do any XMP under 8000MHz
Yeah I wasn’t really ever considering a 4090 😅 seems like overkill. That’s why I settled on a 4070 Ti Super on my list
If I do white, it costs a lot more to do this kind of build
I mean if you're gonna spend 2500 you may as well go for the cream of the crop right
Lol
White I can make work really cheap with certain skus, but 4090 is black only to keep it at 2500-ish
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BNdLRK @solar fossil What white would look like
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
If you want two glass sides
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FGp6t7
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
Intel also kinda works but it's a little cringe
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
There's not a lot of great white options available sometimes, and that usually means paying way above the norm for the same quality
Which is just a flat loss
Nothing wrong with 10% of the budget in looks but beyond that you enter the realm of buying parts that are basically scams
Like the NZXT kraken for example
Or most of anything Corsair made within the last 2 years that isn't a psu or a 3000D
Lots of asus stuff are very wasteful spending, anything with a strix label is yikes
Anyway, those are the lists I'm suggesting @solar fossil I can't stick around

I’ll be looking at these lists. Appreciate it
What's wrong with 3000d airflow?
I didn't call the 3000D a scam?
Oh mb
Question, I use Microsoft edge and my download speed on it is between 1,000 and 900 KB/s. Is there any way I can speed that up?
Try a different browser
Steam gets about 10-15
Interesting
Speed test used to get me 900Mbps, now I'm getting 60
I have a brand new Intel ax200 installed
If you go to #networks-security-and-home-servers I had a somewhat similar issue and got lots of help with it, you might be able to go through some of the same steps
Though I ended up needing to reinstall windows :/
Oh boy
On wifi yes? Have you tried moving the PC or adjusting antennas? (Both PC and router)
Router MUST be in parents bedroom due to us using fiber. I game in the living room cause me and family game together OFTEN
Steam gets between 15-20MBps
I feel you on the router thing. We got fiber and now the routers stuck in the basement
Granted with a decent wifi antenna (and a windows reinstall) I still get full speeds thankfully

If anyone is interested in a ICUE/Corsair Link alternative
For your copium garbage Corsair products, enjoy
I haven't tried it, but I heard it works from some of the people who mentioned it to me
Yes

It's unofficial, so do use at your own risk, but I heard it works decent
@coarse coral come pin this
noooo!
my rgb fans don't even look good unless they're using 4gb of ram and 20% cpu for the pretty lights
Tell corsair to make their software worse
I did see icue using 20% of my 5800x
so that part isn't an exaggeration
I don't think it was hitting 4gb ram though
Should I upgrade to windows 11 for the sake of my 13500?
never
is something stopping you?
10 and 11 are both full of spyware and adware already so if that's your concern go linux
the garbage windows 11 right click menu can be restored back to the good one from windows 10 so that's not a major concern
taskbar can be changed back to left
startallback exists if you want further customization of windows 11
imo no real reason not to do 10>11
microsoft copilot can be disabled
recall can be disabled
13500 does have E-cores so you probably want the improved task scheduler they put into W11
And to add to Mushroom's point we do have a debloat script in the pins of #windows-ios
Alr thanks!
Alright I’ve got a bit of a problem lads
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
^ Current build I’m working on (budget of ~$1150, US)
Told to replace AMD card w/ Nvidia counterpart (muh dlss and ray tracing) but not sure what to choose
Was also told to replace cpu + SSD
Thought I did solid for a first part list but apparently not
DLSS I can kinda get since there's certain games that look better than FSR, and you can use FSR on Nvidia as well.
Ray tracing on the other hand, doesn't do anything for most games except lower your frame rate in exchange for slightly shinier reflections.
And there are only 2-3 games that actually implement RT well
Control, Cyberpunk and Minecraft RTX LOL
Yep. And for it to look good in cyberpunk you have to enable the setting that brings a 4090 down to 40 fps at 1080p.
I would not determine your choice on RT, maybe DLSS (but not by much)
The only way you're getting a comparable Nvidia card for the same price is if you get a used 4070 or 3080/ti
6800 deal right now is hard to beat
Why a white case for like all black?
I mean, you could go for 7700X if you wanna swap CPU
The problem is the gap between the 4060 ti and 4070 is huge, and the 6800 falls right smack in the middle of it
There most comparable Nvidia card would be the 3080
Alr
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QVvPBL
Some ideas for you, now color matched and with wifi
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
It's really hard to find a used 4070 for a reasonable price right now
So I put a 3080
Yes
is it just a bad stock cooler or?
And it is good enough if you want to skip the rgb
alright
It's just a little loud. Cooling capacity is fine for 7600-7800X3D.
skip the rgb? thou dare blaspheme?
fellas, is your pc even a gaming pc if it doesn't have lights
true
So my pc keeps crashing whenever I’m playing boarderlands 3 my cpu usually gets hot but stays around 70° and my fans are at max and it just cuts off straight to black
How do you know your CPU is staying around 70? What are you using to monitor temps?
that to me sounds like instability
also are there any error messages that display before it shuts down or after it reboots?
there's definitely a short somewhere
or the psu not being adequate for the system
what's the parts on your pc?
especially the psu, brand and model
R5 7600x
Rx 7800 xt
X670 arious elite ax
Nzxt kraken elite 360
Nzxt c1200 gold
64 gigs of ddr5 ram form coursiar
2 2tb 990 pro from Samsung
And I’m using the h6 flow
The computer runs perfectly fine playing other games that I’ve played but ig I don’t play as many intensive games like boarderlands
that is definitely unusual
i'd suspect of a short of faulty psu ngl
where a specific load happens to trip it or something
Yeah I'd check all psu connections
those specs barely load up the psu
I'd also check what windows event viewer says
If you have dual monitors I'd run HWinfo on second monitor (not sure how reliable NZXT cam is but I'm currently having trouble with it), and see if theres in irregularities in voltage or temps in that when running the game. Also yeah what Bacca said, and then if it keeps happening I'd replace the PSU and see if that fixes it, and if not, return that PSU.
I'm just saying
Tested For Key Functions R2/Ready for Resale. Cables: 1 Power cord, 1 Power Cable, 2 UPC, 2 Pcie, 2 Sata, 1 Molex. · Fully cleaned with all non-original labels removed. Used Poor – Heavy use and age. · Hardware required for key functions to be tested may have been removed after testing (e.g., Hard Drive).
evga ftw
ill just run down to best buy and grab a new power supply rq
i'd diagnose still
but ill run that program as well
also i just used the thermal paste that came with the cooler my friend said i should try reapplying new thermal paste
fair enough
cool I fixed my nzxt cam software
Man I’m just stupid
I had it plugged into an extension cord the moment I plugged it into the wall works perfectly fine
good it's just a small issue
My cpu is now at 45 💀
I cannot say I've ever experienced that. Is it a low quality extension cord?
It’s the one that came with my gaming desk so probably 💀
well keep an eye on it, and if it doesnt get worse then yeah just replace that extension cord with a better quality surge protector
Will do thank you guys very much
EXTENSION CORD????
what gauge is the wires in it
Hey guys first time builder here. Was going to get a 4070 ti super but found this 4080 Super at what looks like a decent deal. Anyone have thoughts or experiences with it. Only found 3 reviews on the actual GPU and 2 were negative but one most recent positive
the one you linked has 40 reviews, that the right link for sure?
most of them seem positive, zotac is a big nvidia brand
Ok but its zotac
So for some reason under the reviews section Newegg shows “related product reviews” but if you filter it to only this specific item you’ll see only 3. It’s confusing and misleading and only reason I noticed was cause of the pics in some item reviews being different from whatever gpu I was looking at
Yeah that’s my question. Is it a good reliable brand 👀
it's just meh because of past reputation
I havent heard amazing things
hence i said good enough
Idk how good they are this generation
Zotac is fine on 40 series
There's only a few to avoid, like the ventus 2x 4070 ti
At least Zotac hasn't forgotten to put thermal pads on like they did last gen that I've heard of
7900 xtx is also a candidate here if you didnt need the nvidia advantages like rt and productivity
asrock xtx is like 899 USD
xtx edges out the 4080s in gaming a bit i believe
It's close enough to 4080S to call them equal overall in raster
Hey @austere condor you around?
sup
I'm doing a build for resale and wanted your input if you don't mind
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, Cougar Archon 2 Mesh RGB ATX Mid Tower
I alr have the ssds, case buying online and everything else is $345 used altogether
Alr is it OK if I ping you when I take some pictures, probably a couple weeks down the line
Figured I could prob aim for $525-550
typically, i try and build the cheapest modern system i can on PCPP that is performance comparable
like, cheapest board, ram, SSDs, etc
and then try like 80-90% of that PCPP price
i just did one for your list and it was $580
@mossy venture so remember earlier when i was looking into upgrading my personal system since it wasnt capable of doing everything i want it to do?
i have made some changes
and ive now ran into another wall of hardware limitations for what i want to do

What wall?
my main pc is a 5950x, 96gb ram, RTX 3090.
i have five monitors. four 1440p 165hz 32in for my side displays, and a 32in 4k 144hz center display.
i originally had all five plugged into my gaming PC, bottom three in my 3090, top two in a quadro M2000 i slid into the PC for more display output.
my workload is:
4k modded online playing GTA V RP
OBS recording at 1080p 30fps at a reasonable bitrate OR 1080p 60fps streaming on twitch
having a rather heavy duty spreadsheet open on google chrome
having photoshop open and ready to use
being able to use, and do basic editing in premier
and watch a youtube video in 1440p at the same time.
one PC couldnt do that
Cpu limits?
SO, rather than tearing apart my gaming PC
since its custom loop and i dont wanna fck with it
i built a second PC
Also fair
I wanted to do a second pc for a TV but I already have a ps4 I never use
so i offloaded the youtube watching and recording/streaming to the second PC
How's it handling so far?
the second PC is a 5800x/32gb ram/RTX 3070
and its been letting my do everything i wanted to do, no lag
until today
cause i found a new toy i want to integrate into the workload
Just get an epyc 7703 or whatever it is and dual 4090s atp
and, its very likely im going to have to upgrade this secondary PC to be more powerful than my gaming PC so i can do everything i want... lol
I'd cry
ive been playing around with GOOD, real time AI voice changers
like, its wildy impressive what i can do
with these
and for GTA RP, so many crazy opportunities to have some fun
$900
so, im just a dude, typical white guy voice, right?
^ i can do this with the voice changer
this is me talking
Lmao
Do you plan to wait for new cpus/gpus this year early next year?
idk
honestly, with a dual PC setup, my 3090 is doing everything i want for playing games at 4k
mutlitaskign it was falling behind, but ive fixed that
so... this 5800x/32gb ram/ RTX 3070 isnt cutting it anymore doing realtime AI processing
im hitting 100% CPU usage while talking and recording on OBS
and nearly 50% GPU
the more powerful the GPU you have, the smaller the chunksize you can use, reducing the latency for the processing
the 3070 is capable of about 128ms of latency before it craps out
and im peaking my CPU usage too
so.....
i remebered i have a 5950x just sitting around in a half built PC
lol
and a RTX 4080 sitting on my self
think an EVGA CLC240 is good enough for a 5950x?
and idk if that 4080 is gonna fit
or if i gotta grab a higher wattage PSU
Lmao
Rm850x is fine for 5950x and 4080 super
I'd trust that load to the rm750x
Also aio twinsies
Wasn't sure if I'd need to swap
Also also if you happen to want psus for builds

Hm
So missing pcie and cpu power?
There's 1300W G2 on eBay for $50 rn
Comes with all the cables and extras afaik
I was looking at it to buy
Idk, use for test bench or something

Find deals on my stuff @elfin flame

Check amazon warehouse for mobo
Also iirc they had a 3600 for like $65 on there
Woot/amazon warehouse nice
Otherwise, eBay for buyer protection, and you can always try local... But ehhhhhhh
I’ve been checking AW for prebuilts to salvage
I’ll grab that 2080ti when I get paid Friday if it’s still up
Sometimes warehouse be missing some things in the package tho
It's gone
They make that known tho
2 available it says
Oh, it showed me it wasn't
Ah
Maybe eBay just doesn’t like your browser
Nah, showed me on both phone and desktop
Hm
eBay being dumb
https://www.ebay.com/itm/386971890705?
Same boardge for $75
Ah the midge
He paid $90 for boardge
Make him spend less on midge
Hey what's that pencil grinder tool doing in the description
😂
Is it blue?
*Recommends ddr4 *
I’m about to buy DDR4 for a server lol
Is it though
I guess it is still pretty cheap, you can find HP workstations for 100 bucks
1650v3
fair nuff
They're pretty old by now tho
A mere r5 7600 would roast one of those
But $100 is unbeatable
A 5600 would roast it for that matter
ye
What a difference 2 and a half years makes I guess
hey guys, my friend is buying my pc and i want to keep my ssd and get him a new one, what should i download on the new one and also what should i delete on the old ssd
Install windows on new ssd, reinstall windows on old ssd
How do I reinstall on old ssd? How do I delete it first?
Just install windows on the new one. You don't have to do anything with the old one if you're keeping it.
I mean I'm gonnna have new parts and stuff, so I probably should get new drivers and stuff right?
When swapping mobos you should do a fresh install of windows yes
Yeah you'd have to do that regardless. So yes if you don't have anything critical you want to save, you just reinstall windows on the same drive. Unless you partition the drive it's going to format the drive and reinstall window over it.
well i wanna save all the files and games i have downloaded, is that not good? should i just get a new ssd and give my friend the one i have rn ?
also is the stock cooler for the 7600 cpu good enough or is it best to buy a cpu cooler
alright
Who gets what drive doesn't matter. If you want to save your files games etc. Just throw the old drive in the new comp. It's best practice to always have that stuff on a secondary drive and your main drive just the OS for that reason. But you'll mostly be fine.
so when i get a new pc, put in the ssd, start the pc, then redownload windows and drivers then ?
Windows will already be on your PC because it's installed on your drive. You'd just need to download your new mobo drivers, chipset drivers, gpu drivers etc. Only thing windows might give you grief about is being that you changed hardware. So it might ask you to re-activate it.
alright thanks
It's more pain to do that than to reinstall tho
Reinstalling games is easier than losing your sanity to windows being weird
Drivers conflicting, etc
With windows, I don't wanna take risks myself
For my own sake
yeah thats true
ill see what i wanna do and talk it over with my friend
whats the difference between a b650m motherboard and a a620m motherboard
A620 chipsets have fewer PCIE lanes (so less m.2 slots, usb ports etc) and CPUs aren't able to be overclocked. They also generally will be entry level boards with lower powered VRMs. Unless you're tight on funds do yourself the favor and grab a b650. Especially if you ever plan on upgrading your CPU in the next few years.
It doesn't matter
A620 might have less pcie lanes, but when asrock has an A620 board with 3 m.2 slots
You know it's not very limited
OCing modern cpus aren't gonna give you meaningful gains in anything
Besides they still allow eco mode, xmp, ram oc, etc
the motherboard i looked at for am5, the a620 were more expensive than the b650
so ill probably pick up the b650
And the vrms on the upper end of A620 boards are fit for even the top of the chain
I'd spend the lil extra for an extra pcie slot or two tbf
But the vrm point isn't exactly true
Yeah a620m pro rs wifi can handle a 7950x
There's mega cheap B650 boards around too
And it isn't limited wattage wise
With crappy vrms
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7700 XT, Zalman P30 MicroATX Mini Tower
There's this too
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RtFmP6/phanteks-xt-view-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-xt523v1-dwt01
what can i change, i want to it to around 950-1000 with taxes if possible and also decently aesthetic i guess
Or sky two is $60 rn with newegg+, which is free atm
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks XT View ATX Mid Tower
That's over $1000 with taxes though
You're crazy if you think you're going to throw a 7950x on a A620 chipset with a 8+1 phase VRM. And even if it's okay for now that's also not accounting for CPUs down the line. That $20 ~ $30 bux ain't really going to do much for you in the long run.
That same point can be said with $100-110 B650 boards
So really it matters none the chipset the board uses
What matters is the stuff on a given board you're looking at
8+2+1 board hitting wr
alright ill add this ram in
any good cases
the black version right?
Not sure
it says with new egg members, and im not one
G360a
Or p500a
It’s free
how do i become one
^
Tbf it's a $10 rebate
how much difference is there for 7600 and a 7600xt
i meant the cpu
Oh
7600x is what you meant then
Lmao that's so funny
yeah myb
About 1-2%
is it worth saving the 10 dollars by going for the 7600
^
the 7600?
or the x
7600
7600x pulls more power, no stock cooler
You want that one
7600 low wattage, stock cooler
You do not want the x variant
yeah i might pick up the one with stock cooler
what are some good power supplies, 750w modular
also what does the core mean after a gpu? like this one XFX Speedster SWFT 319 Core
D.f 750 is A tier and $80
For atx 3.0 the be quiet one
I have no clue I've always disregarded it
What does the number atx mean? What does the version do
Atx 3.0 has the new connector nvidia cards are using
Not sure if new amd cards will use them yet or not, but for future upgradability atx 3.0 is useful
There are adapters though
@mossy venture imma sell my mag 550w
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8HNXrv
What should I replace it with that is full modular
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus ATX Mid Tower

Yes
Biudl
Hard to pronounce that one
can anyone tell me if this part list is good? i dont really have a lot of knowledge on parts https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pYwpmD
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
It is solid, but I would make some changes
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
There's also this, although I'd get an 850w if you went this route
https://www.zotacstore.com/us/zt-a30810j-10p-o
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hJxFDZ thoughts? I’m going for overclock as well
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
zotac 30 series..
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
Xt pro ultra is also $70 with rgb
Alright the 7800x3d doesn’t get that hot?
Not even on like those heavy games like starfield or triple a?
Not at all, and this cooler is among the top air coolers
A $17 214xt is more than a 7800x3d needs
Let’s gooo
This is also a thing rn

XTX has 24 gigs of vram compared to the 16 of 4080. xtx is very slightly faster in regular rasterization, 4080 has the advantages of the nvidia features like rt and dlss,
if you just game and dont really care about rt get the xtx imo
What is rt? Like sharpening
ray tracing
Ray tracing does?
Mhm
basically does alot in terms of lighting from my limited knowledge
makes stuff like reflections and lighting look better ig
It’s doesn’t burn like an 4090?
it favors nvidia cards but still tanks their performance if you turn it on in already demanding games/scenarios
xtx can power through it aswell though
just maybe not as well as a 4080 would
I see nvida as like expensive and xtx as a value
I don’t wanna drop loads of cash and have a thought of it burning😭
Ima lose my mind lol
xtx is still close to a grand after taxes and shipping
if you call that value then good for your wallet lol
your wallet is fuller than me

G...
if you wanted benchmarks theres that
Alright
best XTX cards are probably XFX's or Sapphire's imo, but get whatever is cheapest if you feel like it
also get a 2nd opinion, there are smarter folks in here than me
Alright thank you
oh would you be getting this 4080?
i didnt see that I figured you meant brand new
what did you have currently again?
6700xt and 5700x
Sapphire
cant go wrong with their cards
i had an asrock, put it in my old prebuilt that i gave to my sister when i got my 6950xt in january
Ahh nice
it was kind of an impulse buy but im very happy with it lol
Let’s go
imo one of the best looking gpus ever if not the best
its loud but itll run whatever i want it to
do you currently need to make the jump to a high end card
supposedly next gen cards are coming out late this year, could get information on them next week at computex
rtx 5000 series which is probably going to be stupid expensive and not worth it to the average consumer
and then amd rdna 4, (8000 series)
from what leaks suggest
amd will not be doing high end
So amd is more like value
Ahh
but with better raytracing and stuff hopefully
then they will be back with high end for rdna5
but
rumors are rumors
stuff could change
XTX is a beast, nothing wrong with that
if you want to stick to sapphire you have both very solid choices;
Thank you
XFX is also prob top 3 for the AMD brand cards;
Xfx does have a nice sleak to it
it is a very popular card
im not huge on half of it being black then the other silver
i still think their high end 6000 looks better (this)
Mhm
it can also look insane though like this build i just found on pc part picker
i believe they painted something on the bottom white
Pretty nice
very good for black and white builds if thats your thing
xfx gpus are always loud stock tho
real
Mhm
sapphire is better in that regard
I’ma go for the sapphire the non rgb one
the pulse?
Yeah
pulse's are very solid from what ive heard, also cheaper which is nice
That’s one looks like my 6700 xt
Anything by Sapphire is probably good
Just with an extra fan
real
I wanna see a nitro+ 4090
There are white xfx cards

Called "core"
is a 12400F for 103 a good deal?
Not bad yeah
good upgrade
Thinking about getting my gf a 12400F now
Steam deck tho
am i trippin or did u wanna get a 2021 mac
Is a 3080 still good nowadays? and also is it worth buying a used 3080 for around 400 dollars? How much watt powersupply does it need
400 is not bad if legit
Buying from eBay I can send u listing
As long as it's an account with like 100-200 reviews and good feedback
Looks good
Painfully loud card tho
I don't mind lol
Depends what cpu you have as to the psu
I don't know if I should go 7700xt, 6800 or 3080
CPU is 7600 and psu is enermax df
750
Ur fine go for it
750 works for 3080?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
this is the build rn '
alright
My guess is in cpu z they'll say micron for manu
I'd flip those for $65-$70 then go get 32gb 5600 cl46 t-creates for like $83
Get the best ddr5 you can buy while it's still cheap
which is?
^
They have hynix h16a
Often found doing 8000+
t- create classic right
You can put like virtually any XMP in
Yes
SPECIFICALLY
That sku
5600 CL46
6000 CL38 can also contain it
But the former is cheap
alright, ill try getting the ram as soon as i can with the motherboard and cpu
The difference between micron rev A and hynix rev A even with an xmp can be as much as like 10-20%
And that's 10-20% over what basic ddr5 can give over ddr4
Xmp in question/context
should i get a air cooler for the 7600 or stock works?
alright
howdy ho pc builders
I'm stuck in the old rtx 3090ti vs 4070ti mode
I'm wonder which is supported better on an older 800 watt psu
new style connector fires kinda got scared of the 4000 series
What psu
And what do you use the pc for
And what is the price diff between 4070 ti and 3090/3090 ti
Both 3090ti and 4070 ti use the same connector.
