Oh
Yeah
They asked for it to be in the bedroom
Yeah
Damn
Yep
Oh, and the street side box that runs the cable to our house? That breaks with EVERY severe storm or temperature snap
It broke 5 times in 6 months
Iirc wifi card should be right here behind the antenna plugs
Prior, we had spectrum and our wifi would die from 6pm to 6am.
Yeah, but my heatsink rests on the shield. Can't remove shield without removing the CPU cooler
Every day
Quality ISP moment frfr
Yep
Covered by the case
And I have the side io cover on too
Lol.
So again, CPU heatsink and GPU
So board needs to come out, but possibly not the heatsink
Heatsink covers motherboard screws
Cos it looks like the wifi is removable without touching the cover
I'm aware but the wifi card looks independently connected
Yes board needs to come out
And for board to cove out I need remove the screw holding it into the case
Size of pluto
Yeah
Hmm well I can't say a whole lot else to this, reinstalling wifi drivers might trip something
But there's not a whole lot of diagnosis for network drivers
I believe you I'm just reiterating for a comprehensive answer
Yeah
I think the next step is just opening up that board
Which if I'm tearing apart my PC for, I'm just replacing the card
Wifi dongles aren't a good idea, and if you lack a spare m.2 you couldn't use ngff
Yeah and that strix takes two nvme only ye?
Yeah I think that's the way to go then
Open it up, see if you can swap/replace the card with the same thing, try it again with a different card
Wifi card dying is not an uncommon thing, especially in a low airflow situation like itx layouts
This says compatible with AMD, but not sure if I could remove the chipset and plug into board
No slot space for it
But might go this as it's what I have now
Remove the actual wifi chip from the PCIe adapter
Oh and swap it? It may work
But as we established like, most of am4 doesn't detect that card
But idk if it's that Intel wifi 7 one that Intel says isn't
Might work on amd BECAUSE of the adapter
But both of mine are populated
Ye
Wait...if the wifi slot is m.2, wouldn't the adapter work there too?
I almost want to buy the wifi 7 and TRY
If it doesn't work, just return it
But I absolutely want to go the wifi 6 as I can guarantee its compatible
Yeah but then you're taking the system apart twice if wifi 7 fails lol
Which is most likely
I'd just pop it open, order whatever card it has
Then pop that in
It may have killer or realtek
I think it has a realtek Ethernet controller, but it has an Intel chip
Killer is another brand, my last one was in 7th gen
I mean it works
It's much like any other card really
I've never really looked at comparisons between wifi cards
I live where there's basic internet everywhere so I'm dreaming of hitting full speed at any point lol
Never had the thought to learn if any are better than their counterparts
Interesting. Killer and Intel....
Though I would stick to same brand
Intel bought Killer
As oem driver compatibility may come into play
They're the same brands now
Use what works...I can stick behind that
Gotchya
Ye
I also have the AX200 drivers already
Otherwise you might get a wifi 7 situation lol
Do be careful tho, the aerial wires are very fragile
They kinda just pop off the wifi card
Excessive force and they'll snap
Moving it around?
For wifi anyways
Hmmm
You don't want to see me rage
Might not effect Bluetooth
But I still get full bars for connectivity so...
Hulk SMASH! *Bends one wire *
It would definitely feel bricked tho
I've run a wifi card without antennas
Almost no signal next to the router
It does in fact work tho
💀
Mm
Quality asus moment
I've debated just going to an ASRock board too
Go asrock next gen
Idk what chip it was using but maybe it was using the same antenna for Rx and tx and using the other one for steering
Asrock upped their game with am5
But their itx kind is.... miniscule
But yeah idk
Asrock is probably the best for am5 rn
I don't have THAT much spare money
There's only one board from ASRock that fits my needs and it looks ugly
A620i lightning wifi is like, $140 or something, same vrm as the b650i's
And then new cpu
Ye
If you offset a lot of this from flipping the 5900x+board+ram tho you could probably do that pretty cheap
A ASRock am4 board is pushing my budget to the absolute max
Not suggesting you do it now but it's fun to consider
$83 32gb 5600 hynix A + asrock a620i + 7600/7800x3d you'd be looking at about $400/$570 but offset by the used parts you could probably cut that down to like 100, 200-ish
If I went am5 I'd go atleast Ryzen 7. That's atleast $350 right there
Especially since it's itx
I mean sure
But itx boards hold value well
Especially since it's strix
People love strix tax
Lol
In Tennessee
So you imagine reselling that for 150
+prolly 250 for 5900x
200?
$60 for 32gb
410-ish?
And a 7700x/7800x3d with all the kit would be about 570
Technically doable
But 5 times the price of ax200/ax210
Lol
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D
About $450 out of budget
And I only make $2200 a month
$600 of which goes to my vehicle
7800x3d is better for gaming
$800 of which goes to rent
The rest is other various bills
$80 is phone bill
And the $600 is not counting gas
So ..yeah
I'm on a very TIGHT budget
I said 7700x or 7800x3d
Ik
Lol
And the 9 is ONLY $50-60 more
Less than $40
and it is worse in gaming due to core scheduling
dual ccd nonsense
If I put the 7800x3d in it does reach 570
So what should I do?
You'd offset it with the am4 parts sold tho
Wouldn't the silicon power ram be better for $10 more?
They're unironically insane
That's one thing i don't do, especially in an itx case
Well you can do an xmp manually tho
Put any other xmp in for amd expo and it'd run
It's 7 numbers in bios
Takes 5 minutes
Yeah...I don't trust myself
Instead of a preprogrammed button for 6400 cl32, you do it manually and out in 6400 cl32-39-39-39-97
Random stuff breaking keeps happening
My vehicles VTT solenoid failed
My wifi chip failed
My sedans alternator fried twice in two years
That's kinda crazy ngl
Was the replacement just cheap or something??
Surely you have a warranty
Most recent one I was 3 hours drive away from home
And tow truck wanted $1500 to take me home
Damn
Instead I paid $150 to go 5 minutes down the road to an Oriellys and paid another $450 to change it out myself in the parking lot
That's even more surprising
The only thing that's a pain on those is the rear bank spark plugs
Pft
I've had THREE Honda, currently on my third
All three have been nothing but issues
do chkdsk /f and restart, /r first if you need to recover whatever got corrupted
All used?
My '99 Pontiac sunfire which I got from an abandoned car auction was more reliable
And I had to rebuild the engine in my parents driveway
The engine and the entire brake assembly
I've never owned a honda myself, tho most people I've spoken to I've never really heard of issues
Spent close to $5k fixing that car
Usually people try to crash into me
But vtec is known to be really solid
That's why I installed two 24/7 dash cams
Do you mod your car?
Not power wise
Engines are stock
Also, my current Honda is a 4 cylinder AWD CRV, 2006
It gets 8 miles a gallon on gas
ouch
Which motor was it
In a week, my V6 sedan used as much gas as my 4 cylinder AWD CRV
Might wanna check spark plugs lol
is says like this ?
Yeah I'd believe that lol
*as much gas as my 4 cylinder CRV did in a day
I'd have no idea what my mpg is
It isn't even a crossover. It's listed as an SUV
Honda CRV
Kinda. More like 4.5
That would count as a crossover to me
Back then crossover wasn't really a category tho
Well the registration has it has a SUV
This is 2006 tho so...
Mmm
Those are nice to have
And a picnic table where the spare tires usually are
Lol
But some of the most reliable engine's I'd learnt about over the years were
The 90's vtec
E36
2jz
The lancer one (no memory of the name)
But anyways, am5, even if I sold my current hardware is out of budget
The hilux motor
Mitsubishi
Nothing Kia or German are reliable
Ehh
Won multiple engine awards of the year through then90's and start of 2000's
I mean I'd know, I owned one
Tbf, back then all you needed was fuel efficiency
I tried chkdsk C: /f also
People say Hondas are reliable...My personal experience says otherwise
Reminds me of my taichi temps
I see a lot and hear a lot of good things tho, so it's just surprising
I mightn't last any longer in the chat
My phone can barely even launch discord anymore
2022 flagship not good enough for android anymore apparently
And a snap dragon 695
So the one from the civics, integras, accords, 1990's
yea do Y and then restart
J30 is a 3.0L v6
Anyways, I'm gonna stop car chat and let Mr1111 help Miya diagnose
After that what next step should I do?
My phone can still launch discord
Fair enough lol
After it finishes restarting? Since there was something that got corrupted, it's probably a good idea to grab some software like crystaldiskinfo or hwinfo64 and look at the drive SMART data
The e36 I had was M42
2021 flagship too, well 2021 phone that was delayed to release in 2022
That one you could throw anything at
M56 replaced it and was pretty good too
Ah the lancer engine I was trying to remember is 4g63
Anyway
it looks like this
About CrystalDiskInfo A HDD/SSD utility software which supports a part of USB, Intel RAID and NVMe. Aoi Edition Standard Edition Shizuku Edition Kurei Kei Edition Download System Requirements OS Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10/11Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019/2022 Architecture x86/x64/ARM64 IE ...
I downloaded this one
iirc it downloads both at the same time, but you want to look at crystal disk info rn, not crystal disk mark
Yes
what to do now ?
prob a good idea to run dism now, type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in an admin command prompt
if it's just windows, once its fixed, it'll be fine
Well, now theoretically windows is fine again, so see if you still get crashes now
Noted on this. Thank you @stoic island. Will msg you just in case it crashes again
Do you guys use W11 instead of 10 nowadays ?
Windows 11 doesn't offer much over windows 10, but its just eaiser to have w11 now since microsoft will slowly phase out w10 and will stop support it in another year or so
Oh maybe just wait to phase out the support with W10 before switching to W11 ?
yea you don't have to switch from w10 rn if you don't feel like it
If it's a fresh or reinstall, then might as well go with windows 11
If you're just on windows 10, no need to upgrade right away
@stoic island @burnt spruce There are multiple DISMs to run, and also ideal to run SFC after a dism. Ideally do this: #building-and-recc-chat message
Don't need to DDU, but should do everything else including lowering RAM speed.
From how its described, it looks to me like restorehealth will do what scanhealth and checkhealth try to do already, so now I just suggest running with restorehealth
but yea should do sfc after dism, forgot about that
It's been considered good to do them separately so idk. I haven't done enough DISMs to know tbf.
just seems like checkhealth is checking if anything is really noticeable, scanhealth is actually scanning, then restorehealth is scanhealth plus restoring anything it finds
but I'm not too familiar with it
I think I've seen checkhealth fix stuff before. But I never really pay attention to where fixes happen and my memory is worse than c*rsair XMP so can't say for sure.
reading over the microsoft documentation, this is interesting, might need to look at other sfc options
Prolly is concerned about more corruption happening. Like memory errors or smth
maybe
https://item.mercari.com/gl/m97291209695?sv=0
Is it just me, or is this dude giving away a controller with the easiest fix possible
It's just some no name $15 controller
It's possible the button mechanism is just bad, or the membrane tore
The screen still freezes and I restarted it now it only loads
And the cpu is running but the monitor only blinks
Technically how to check the prob since the screen freezes and I have to manually restart it
Wdym now it only loads?
Cpu runs but no display
I checked eventviewer and found this before and on the crashed
Looks like it's trying and failing to set up some hardware.
How to check what is failing ?
I was trying to get into conact with newegg about a gpu i ordered but i dont think i have access to the channel
when the screen freezes
I forced restarted it manually
Does anyone know what the delivery exception thing means? I never had that pop up before from something i ordered but this gpu’s coming from Yeston in China
And when I opened the pc the cpu runs but no display
Does the cpu have integrated graphics?
You'd look at one of those device setup manager entries and get the PCI ID
That usually means the mail carrier has an issue. Could be any number of things, and all of them are outside of Newegg's control.
If it's shipping from China I'm guessing you ordered from a third party seller. Contact that seller.
the Error level ?
PCI ID is the general ?
mostly the error looks like this
i was looking at this psu, but i cant tell if it has white stock cables, does anyone happen to know if it does?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKS5GYH2?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
To fully support next-gen hardware, Toughpower GF A3 Snow Series (850W/1050W) is designed to meet ATX 3.0 standards, including a PCIe Gen 5.0 12VHPWR connector. The GF A3 Gold series delivers 80 PLUS Gold efficiency, it also offers stability, durability, and reliability. For users who crave for a...
This one's better and cheaper with white cables
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qrgrxr/adata-xpg-core-reactor-ii-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-corereactorii850g-whcus
but does the other one have white cables?
I believe it does but it's nowhere near as nice as the one I linked
ok ill proabably just get that one then
the one you linked
No worries. I don't mind GF A3, I think it's quite good, but only when it sells cheap
can i ask why its better though
Keeping it brief, going back to when I scanned out reviews for the second gen, I believe it was aris, put it at a much higher tier than the GF A3
GF A3 is about, RMe-ish levels but a bit worse
Meanwhile core reactor ii is like
RMx
Which in simple terms, RMe is like a stripped out RMx
They're both good units, but yeah, the II is both cheaper and stronger so I would go that one
should i get cable extensions
Can you see the psu in the case?
Cos if you can't, you could get an even cheaper unit with extensions instead and forego the colour
one sec ill check
Asiahorse extensions with like an A850GF or A850GL for example
yeah
So it's just ssd, ram, psu case and cooler
yeah
1tb or 2tb, and rgb yes or no
Also ddr4 or ddr5
And lastly which CPU and gpu are we talking about
1 tb, rgb, ddr5, 5 7600X, 4070 super
Which mobo sorry lol
B650 Aorus elite ax ice
Jeez that's an expensive board
thank you for providing me with a lawn chair
you are very welcome
i needed something that was am5 ATX and white
What are you using the pc for
gaming
Ok. Here's what I have in mind. Use Asiahorse 16awg white extensions, or cablemod RT if you can find them used for cheap
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
is 750W enough?
There are a bunch of alternatives however for white motherboards since this is just a gaming build, if you still have the chance, I would go back and get an Asrock pro rs matx and a 7600 non-x, then grab a case like the lian li 205m
Also known as the sama argb-q5
750w is insane overkill
That system would run on a good 550w if you picked the right one
ok
Changing the board, cpu and ram would save you probably about 140 or so
And you could upgrade the gpu with that to 4070 ti easily
Or 7900xt
Good 20% uplift in fps and no loss anywhere else
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
Damn the 4070 ti hiked up overnight
That used to be sub 700
Argb-q5 used to be known as a lian li case sold exclusively by micro center
Called the 205m mesh
Or that may have been the 185m and the IM01
Either way, Sama was a Lian Li oem and the case is quite good
whats the difference between these two and which is better
Precautions: 1. Before purchasing memory products, please refer to the QVL(Qualified Vendor List) compatibility list first of the motherboard. 2. The quality of the CPU memory controller (IMC) and the version from the BIOS of motherboard may both potentially affect the operating frequency of the ...
because the second is cheaper but has a high mhz rating
It's not hynix so the second one is slower
DIY Amazon FireStick basically
DIY? What part of this is doing it yourself
I mean, you could do that with a fire stick as well
Yeah, of course you could
Am having a problom with my pc. It will randomly turn off, when I turn it back on it will not have any video???? Started happening 2 days ago
Immediate thought would be psu protections are being tripped/wattage is being exceeded, or a connection came loose
What psu, cpu, and gpu
4060 ti, Ryzen 7800 x3d, 850 watt Deepcool or something like that !
Be quiet! Gold 850 Watt PSU
Just started happening yesterday, while it was on idle
Had it for like 5 months now
I took out the PSU power put it back in and now I have video
Like the hell is going on????
I would leave my computer, the monitor would turn black to save energy, I click space on my keyboard and the monitor would come back on but sometimes it doesn’t get back in, get no video. Turn off the pc, remove the PSU power and then put it back. Get video after that
@mossy venture thoughts?
It’s not overheating I know for sure, pc is a good 40 C
Only happens when I stop using the pc after 1 hour ish
Fans are still spinning and stuff so how would it be the PSU?
^Normal temps
That's very weird
Could try disabling igpu
in nvidia settings?
Thoughts on this case? not gonna buy it but it looks dumb idk
very aesthetically
Pretty sure it's bios
I haven't had to do it before
Fal felix or foxy would probably know (why does everyone's name start with an f)
ok thanks cutie
@cyan ravine @little osprey if you cuties would like to help a brother out
it would be awesome
for itx, it's fine ig
It’s the “aesthetics” case. Doesn’t do anything special but doesn’t choke your build if it’s mid range
Hey all, solid timings for DDR5-6000? Not had to look into DDR5 timings until now so
Manual? Xmp?
XMP probably, not gonna bother with manual
just want a solid kit
For Ryzen 7000
Probably looking at 7900x3D, heard productivity difference between non 3D and 3D was minor anyways although idk about that given the 50w difference in TDP
I do a solid amount of both productivity and gaming and that lower TDP and being more efficient, even in the case of being maybe marginally worse in productivity, sounds like a solid trade off
Just be warned that the 7900x3d can be finicky and just not work correctly on games @potent portal may be able to explain more, believe they have one
You in the US?
Yeah it’s late for me, so gonna sleep soon but
Stability issues in games isn’t one I’ve heard
Would get this
Yeah looks perfect thanks, will check back for info on that mentioned instability issue tomorrow when I wake up
No probs
The issue is when the game isn't aware that there's multiple CCDs and it tries to switch between them. It's especially bad in games that can use more than 6 cores.
You get a full half second or more stutter and it's really annoying. Sometimes you can fix it with process lasso but other times you have to just disable the second CCD.
Most larger games run perfectly fine once they've had a few patches. I've encountered this mainly on smaller studio and indie games.
Do I have it running with XMP enabled?
MSI bios confuses me
I fixed it
I had auto enabled
should i get an h6 flow or a Phanteks Eclipse G360A case i dont really care too much about the price difference
Anyone can help me ? my pc keeps freezing
Don't waste money on thermal paste, cooler comes with perfectly acceptable paste, those fans etc are overpriced
Would do this, just as good for wayy cheaper
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/GPjt28
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Lian Li LANCOOL 215 ATX Mid Tower
Try turn off game bar
Done with this
i have all my parts already except my mb 😭
kryonaut is worse than the included paste unless you want to replace it way more often
it's not designed for long term daily use
Kryonaut is known to last 6 months at most
yup
It's high performance is credited to it's liquidity as it's a very wet paste, which evaporates and loses it's efficacy fast
Just like hydronaut
If you want to pick a high performance paste that has life in it, MX-6 is about as close to that as it gets without costing a fortune in the process, otherwise you'd pick PTM which is just plain better than everything else period
And ptm is a pain to apply
Not impossible just annoying lol
how does ptm stack up against lm?
LM is far and wide better
G360a
was curious cause people talk about it like a gift from the gods lol
Depending on the circumstances it's ±MX-6 but with a supposed infinite service life and perfect spread
Or KPX
my laptop has already gotten to the point of a "forever" lm application
full saturation
Some high density applications benefit from it though
it's nice never needing to replace it again
A lot of people use PTM for XTX for example as the heat density is strong enough to *cause eventual dry out
So PTM is a bit of a weapon of choice, the cards ship with them stock as well
No clear explanation why it happens, but I believe the chiplet design adds ridges for air to get in from a permanently uneven contact
Who knows though, I'm not prepared to study it for 6 months in pieces lol
Why
It has good flow, looks cool, and has good space
personal preference really
Depends on the motherboard
there should be some inscription near it, if not then look at mobo manual to see which one it is
Can you get a closer pic, there's usually 4 lights there
Well isn’t that inconvenient
Different person, same model(?) and it’s same price. Only issue is it’s WAYYY up north compared to last seller
Cheapest 4070ti on eBay atm
There is like 9 left and is on sale
https://www.ebay.com/itm/386868525451 @manic cloak
Ya I know @honest knot but basically idk if this is the E version or not
E version?
And the E is basically just an upgraded vram and lil more power efficient
Basically E for efficient
I didn't know that
Mhm they have two versions for the MSI ventus atleast
😭
Mhm
But just a quick little fill in
I think 2-3 days ago maybe
Same thing occurred
Same model, price, etc
This
Oooo
And possibly this
6950xt is 400$
I guess so but that’s about what.. 560$?
In general perspective I don’t think my 750w EVGA GT could run the 6950xt
Just a quick resell
Mmm
Possibly 450-500$
Well if it's successful enjoy the 6950xt, at least you can go the extra mile with MPT (more power tool)
Eh, its just iffy for me is all
If I managed to sell the 7800xt should I even get the 4070ti
I’ve never had Nivida before
If you like what Nvidia is offering then yes
Idk what it does offer except for DLSS and RT tbh
I know AMD driver hub is amazing
Along with some features
But idk about nivida
Are you interested in nvidia's features? Do you want to game with a 12gb vram GPU?
Don't get me wrong that GPU is fast
Just gotta research what you like and if it's the best option for you
@mossy venture I need a build for a friend around $400.
He needs wifi+bluetooth.
for what
Entry level gaming
used?
Sure.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
$5 bt adapter
actually one sec
lemme swap mobo
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
if they buy other parts used can add more budget for gpu
Idk what it really offers
@mossy venture look like anything wrong with this?
It’s a TI, not a super, but should perform similar
Similar
This too.
None of those three sellers have much experience selling, if any
Just something to be aware of
Welp, they gotta start somewhere.
•TEAM GROUP T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 3200MHz 32GB (8gbx4)
•SAPPHIRE RADEON R9 390X 8GB GDDR5 TRIPLE DP TRI-X
•AeroCool Cylon RGB Mid Tower
•Intel® Core™ i3-10100 Processor
•EVGA BP 550W Power Supply
Can run games like Rust, Fortnite, Valorant, GTA, Minecraft, CSGO, and more pretty well
Minus the ram, might be good to resell?
Or maybe part out for future builds
Dude probably just doesn’t have windows LMAO
anyone knows how to fix this ? I already uninstalled the ryzen master and clear the registry
but I still encounter screen freezes not sure if its because of this
Iirc that pops up on my system and I never even had ryzen master installed once
Not aware of the whole story but I'd wager that ryzen master probably isn't the issue
Yeah at 120W tdp I wouldn't worry too much abt ventus cooler
https://item.mercari.com/gl/m40744154188?sv=0
@mossy venture guy is offering 200 for it
Worth?
300 is a solid price already
If that's actually a 2060
It isn't
Msi doesn't have a single fan 2060 I don't believe
Unless that's ventus 2x and it's just that small
Correct
The chrome side on the last few pics.
I sent him a message about it.
Hasn’t responded.
yea it's a 1060 ocv1
if it was a 2060 6gb i could see an honest mistake, but this is just lying
no way someone mistakes a 3gb 1060 for a 2060 super
I’ll see if he knocks it down $100 or so.
I still want the parts from it lmao
Easy resell
I'd try and get 150 back
Sell it locally
Or put it in a budget build
ok so I have a pc https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4YsHFs
Part List - Intel Core i5-13500, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
how much do yall think I can get for it
I’d pay maybe $700 for it
crap
cpu, case, fans, gpu, ssd, and cooler were all upgrades from the original build
@mossy venture what’s your take dawg
I'm just thinking if I can sell it for like a grand I should be golden to get a new pc that performs better (no reason to do so, just is an idea of mine)
dont want to do a part by part appraisal rn
Technically if it's all new parts it should be well over a grand, but gpu isn't worth that much anymore
275-300 for gpu
more like $200 lol
a 3070? what are you on
That's what I saw it going for like 6 months ago
shouldn't it have gone down in price?
200 for 3070 sounds like a fire sale price
ig i'm just out of the loop
selling individual parts would probably be more cost effective
relatively speaking a 3070 I could see for 250, 300 seems like normal or ebay levels
but ebay takes wayyy too much for it to be worth it
funny thing is I bought my gpu for $400 about a year ago iirc, and a few months later they dropped to $200, now they're $300
Checking a bunch of recent HWS articles I see 260-300
I still have boxes for mostly everything rn
so in box would probably raise value, no?
@pseudo pollen do you live in the US?
yessir
Try Mercari.
Been selling on there for years.
You’ll have to post a little lower to get some bites, but buyer pays all the fees.
are there seller fees?
buyer pays all the fees
I could've sworn there were seller fees
They recently like revamped their structure I think
I'll try that, thanks!
might not do this whole ordeal though, just seeing how much I could get towards an upgrade without spending anything out of pocket
These microcenter deals are too enticing
Oh nice
They now offer no fees for selling. But they have a low “you gotta file a form for taxes” floor.
I think it’s like $200.
'No selling fees', but they still push fees to buyer so you'll likely have to price your item lower for it to sell. Still gotta make money.
So how do monitor arms work, like ones off of amazon?
cause I plan on buying one for the element EM3FGAB27BS monitor cause the stand is just a non tilt non raise piece of metal
but the pattern on the back of it is different
Find out what the mounting pattern is, then buy an arm with that pattern
It's generally vesa 100x100, rarely something different
Hello Im looking to extend PSU about 60 cm .. has anyone done this before with 2 extenders?
That would work in theory but you get more potential points of failure the more things you connect
Should work but most don't recommend extending twice yeah
Some custom cable brands sell custom kits that extend a lot longer than the normal ones, food for thought @hot heath
Ye cablemod, moddiy too, they're solid
Didn’t even know they made GPUs
So what are the chances I can run a build by someone for some input/recommendations? (It's my first build) I want to make sure parts are fully compatible and I won't have anything in unaware of, like parts limiting other's, etc?
thats what alot of people in here help others with, ask your questions in here and someone smarter than me will probably come help lol
Shoot the list into this chat and we can help
Is it okay to post a link to the list?
Yes.
Let me help you save a few bucks
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
Something simple
The 14900 have too many issues rn that are not being fixed to make them worth purchasing
@hoary furnace if you can find that case in stock anywhere, it’s worth a buy.
MB is $20 off rn
If anyone else wants to chime in for a second opinion, that would also help.
So a few things. First off, I'm not overly worried costwise as it's a work thing, and I use it for heavy use outside of work as well.
Gpu is whatever you really want. Cheaper listed ones tend to have coil whine.
Cost wise, it’s better to just get more efficient things.
I don’t want you to waste your money.
If you want to use the PC for workstation, switch that 7800x3d to a 7950x3d for better workstation perf
But if you game, that 7800x3d is just too good
Agreed. Second I am interested in 2x hdmi off rip, but can settle for an adapter. Nit a big deal. I do prefer a good 10x USB though for connections
So I definitely don't know much about intel over amd. Just for knowledge sake, may I ask why?
I think @obsidian wigeon might be able to help with that
They’re both good.
The latest intel chips just have a lot of degradation issues that intel refuses to fix or actually listen to concerns for.
Ooo, @mossy venture would know.
What do you do work wise
~~I should’ve asked that first
~~
Work wise not a whole lot. A lot of advertising, video work, etc. Off work, heavy gaming and video creation
64GB of ram might be a good investment for video creation then
Numbers wise, I say the 2 hdmi, a good 10x usb, Bluetooth, 64gb ram are my main focuses i think
Ethernet
Nothing crazy necessary, I like a glass tower with a solid steel frame like the one original shown
But down for options
First option
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/syV7jH
Part List - Intel Core i7-14700K, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Part List - Intel Core i9-13900K, GeForce RTX 4090, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
Can swap parts between the two however, I wouldn't bother with the 14900k. It's the 13900k with a 100mhz overclock, abt a 1-2% difference that you could achieve with changing one number in bios
Bacca showin me up once again
I'm liking both of those. I was interested in the 4080 super instead.. thanks for these
Time for a stupid question. What is with all the different types of graphics cards, like PNY shown there for example? What differences should I be looking for in those?
Is there an alternate motherboard you would suggest with more USB ports? I see 8 i believe there
why pc lag(says i have 8.6/31.9gb in use of memory)
lag comes from wifi/internet
not talking about internet lag, talking about framerate
then gpu to monitor
most likely
wait what
thats a thing
CYFPV Right Angled 90 Degree HDMI Male to Female FPC Flat Cable 20cm for HDTV Multicopter Aerial Photography Work for Camera Multicopter Aerial Photography Length: 10-80cm Typical application: connect your video device with HDMI port to video device with standard HDMI input. When the cable is too...
could this actually be causing the framerate loss on my pc
It doesnt really matter too much especially with 40 series
Btw you can get a USB hub for like $10-15 on amazon and not have to worry about it at all
But I'll grab some options
Not many boards with 10 ports really
Wait
I completely forgot abt a major issues intel has rn with their high tier chips just dying
Let me change my lists rq
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
12 usb ports tho
13*
lmaooo it's so ugly
+1 usb c
2006 ahh mobo design
Could do eagle ax or this too
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Tz2WGX/asrock-b650e-pg-riptide-wifi-atx-am5-motherboard-b650e-pg-riptide-wifi
With a design like that, who needs rgb
Just let that man shine through the glass
Most of that will be covered by the CPU cooler and GPU anyway
Thank you for all your help. I truly appreciate it. This has helped tremendously. I'll be finalizing it all shortly. Wish me luck
I was wondering what truly are some good headsets, wired or wireless. I’ve had this razer tournament kraken for so long and it’s hard playing stereo instead of surround sound due to me not wanting the 95 daily synapse pop ups
https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hyperx-cloud-ii-wireless-gaming-headset-(black-red)? saw this but I watched a few and people said it was alright
I have the wired cloud II, it's decent enough for the price
Surround sound on a headset is fake 99% of the time also
Real surround sound needs multiple speakers
Ya tbh I don’t like surround sound
It’s so disorienting to me
If it were to be like “it’s to the left of you” and footsteps play in my left ear cool that works
But if it plays audio in both ears it ain’t helping me
Anywho what’s the difference between core, stinger and just cloud?
That'll depend on the game you're playing, not just the headset
CS2, rust, fortnite, roblox 😭, Minecraft, hellduvers 2
iirc
Core is a cheaper, basic version
Stinger is the "ooh shiny" gamery one
Regular falls in the middle
I know at least 2 of those do proper directional audio but the others...
Oh looks like MC does directional audio as of 1.19
Rust seems like it's as bad as I remember when I tried a demo, everyone hates the audio
Core sucks
CS2 seems like they did a weird hybrid directional audio thing where they mix the channels
Fornite has decent audio. Enable "visualize sound effects" for best results.
Helldivers I can't find much info on except lots of bugs, and not the kind you can shoot
Anyone know how to match the resolution I'm using one 1080p and 1440p?
How to make both 1440p in resolution only for extend these display. I tried super resolution in AMD
I give up on trying to get a good deal on a 5700/XT
Which of these is the lesser evil? https://www.ebay.com/itm/276453409487 https://www.ebay.com/itm/166715831252 https://www.ebay.com/itm/155737954389
Just send them a lower offer
If u have 150 go for 2070 or 2070 super
5700xt is worse
linux and egpu :P
both things I believe work better with amd (not sure on egpu)
Ah, yeah kinda, maybe 6600xt
I uh
I just bit the bullet on the nitro+ 5700 XT I linked
:P
Asking 💀
Tbf, Nitro+ is a higher end 5700xt so I know those usually go for more (140 - 160), Annnnd getting that quick shipping premium, but still 😭 that hurts 😭
So 140?
No 💀 175 + tax 💀
💀 oh, well at least it’s a higher end 5700xt
I spent $425 on a Taichi OC 16GB 6800xt
Does anyone have recommendations on a cpu fan, I was planning on using the thermal right peerless assassin 120 SE but when I installed it, it was too long and was interfering with my ram
Preferably thermalright as my case fans are thermalright and I’d like all my fans to match
And preferably not a dual tower due to what happened with the last one
Move the fan to the back or move it up on the front to clear the ram
It's designed to do both these things
Can move it to the back bc of the ports thing idk what it’s called
And it looks bad if it’s moved up
can you send a pic?
The io cover?
or VRM heatsink maybe
You should have ample room in the back
But that looks bad
I’ll see how it looks once I’ve built it and decide
Alr
What CPU was it
Something mid or low tier you could probably get away with a smaller cooler
5 7600X
Oh that's absolutely happy with a single tower
No need for the second fan probably
So should I return this one and get a single tower
You can keep this and just use the one fan
I kind of want to see the fans rgb though
It sounds like you've made up your mind already
Can you recommend any?
Ok
Lp cooler
Guessing you already know this tho
So that one is fine?
ID-COOLING SE-214-XT 68.2 CFM CPU Cooler vs. Thermalright Assassin X Refined SE ARGB 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler vs. Thermalright Assassin King SE ARGB 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler vs. Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 EVO WHITE ARGB 70.4 CFM CPU Cooler
Just won't be as strong as the other thermalrights due to decreased fin stack hieght
Won't matter for a 7600X but maybe if you upgraded to something that uses more power later like a 9800X
Ye
Whichever one looks the best to you, they'll perform effectively the same
