DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Thabks
Definitely use DDU because AMD doesn't have anything to do with this
Gotcha
Win11?
Yessir
Same driver ig
Alright so once I DDU I assume that first THEN AMD?
Alright
Yeah that's fine, just make sure Intel mode is selected on the main screen
Alright clean and restarting intel
It won’t open..
How would I even check if it installed..
It's hard to tell unless you know what to look for
What won't open? The link or the file?
Well that first link where I thought it wasn’t the motherboard chipset you sent me
I opened it, it asked me to run or do not run cause smart screen wasn’t available
Then when I pressed run, closed out and nothing happened
Did you extract the whole contents of the zip
Try running install.bat instead of the asussetup
?
Oh it’s just named Window Batch File for me
But it’s doing the same thing
I’m gonna go out of safe mode and see
Oh you're still in safe mode
That would be it
Most things won't install in safe mode
Since most system services are stopped
Strange.
Same things happening
Pops up, closing immediately
My music works aswell
Maybe that version is installed already then? idk, it's probably safe to just move on but you can check the system logs if you're curious
AMD drivers should still be installed
Are you having problems with your AMD GPU? It didn't seem like you were to me
I don't think so, just when I tried to boot and get display it was being wonky
and Adrelalin was like "Hey I just set your settings back to basic"
Alright
@potent portal Thanks for the help, managed to hit a 4k clip with a negev in CS2 LOL
Does anyone know why my hdd isn’t coming up it’s detected in my bios but not in disk manager or anything
Ah yeah that's like 2.5kw per day just idling tho
Sure beats full power all day
The more alarming revelation is the TV power consumption
Not because it uses a lot of power, since its usage is quite small, but because it doesn't seem to go into standby power properly
Standby power regulations mandate that it should consume at most half a watt, and like a decade ago it was a whole watt
If it can't effectively go into standby at that wattage then it's defective, or they did away with regulations to make that TV
Most electronics and electrical appliances in the past like 20 years have been made to conform to that watt standby power
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Cooler: Kraken X73 RGB, White
Motherboard: Aorus Elite AX ICE B650
Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 - White
Video Card: White Aero 4080
is it a good build?
is the mb good or i change it
If it's a good price it's fine
Lots of people are setting world records on B650, no need to go higher
Can anyone help me put together a pc for 1,200 USD?
a what kind of pc
Gaming
Yes
ok this will overshoot a little bit but frankly it can't really get any better than the following
Its fine its over a bit
this
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
but ideally this
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
the SSD is free with the cpu is why it's $0
there are ways to trim it a little more but, it starts to come in the way of, not really being worth it if that makes sense
Mhm
you could drop to a 7900 GRE or 7800XT and this would still be good
Yeah my absolute max is 1,250
yeah well this is pretty much minmaxed for 1250 then
Ok
You could do things like A620i AX or A620M Pro RS (not really any different as a board, just an aesthetic mismatch)
the zotac card
maybe gamemax m60 or phanteks g360a
Whatever you think is best man
but it's all kinda going all over the place aesthetically
oh it's more like I'm just sorta explaining the thought process lol
one sec I'll pull up the amd cards rq
the build I did is really small btw, it's basically an itx build
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Fq26Mp/gigabyte-gaming-oc-radeon-rx-7900-gre-16-gb-video-card-gv-r79gregaming-oc-16gd
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BtkH99/powercolor-hellhound-oc-radeon-rx-7800-xt-16-gb-video-card-rx-7800-xt-16g-loc
not enough to make any real difference tbh
Ok
the cpu and gpu both have decent ventilation
in fact this is a great case for the gpu, it can feed straight from the bottom
What’s better the amd cpu or the nvidia
uh, I'd lean towards the 4070S a little for streaming
just because it's more accessible?
Yeah
they perform about the same
but as far as open compatibility nvidia is doing slightly better overall
So you would go with a 4070S build?
ideally ye
Do you think all the prices will stay the same cause I won’t have the money until this monday coming up
Or I got a question
Do you think I should buy all the parts on the same day or like buy some parts now and the rest later
What do you recommend
Ye
what's in it
Its garabge
I won't judge lol
i7 4790 RX580 , 16gb DDR3
mmm yeah no, I'd flip that
I don’t think anyone will buy it lol
Its a jank dell optiplex build
that sort of spec still sells
The dang power button don’t even work on it
lmao
I think RX580's are about $80-$100 worth iirc
4790 non K would be worth a few bucks too
whole pc probably for 200-300
it's in that range of like, kinda not worth it anymore, kinda worth something
4790 in particular
I got the Chinese version RX580 lol
it's suprisingly still viable
Got the 2048SP version
oh lmao
😂
4790 is like 40 bucks I think
xeon equivalent is an e3-1271v3 and that's like 20
same clock speed just doesn't have igpu
if you flip that with a blank drive it'll be worth a couple hundred probs
use that to offset what you paid for the new one
going back to this, given your current pc, all at once
depending on the specs I can sometimes just opt for half the pc upgraded and leave it at that
it's fine to buy parts a few at a time if it's a working system
ye it is
tho a 4790 would be hella bottlenecked
you may as well just do all of it
the build above would last a pretty long time imo
I'd go in order like...power supply, then board cpu and ram, then gpu and case
power supply then ssd
ye
if the ssd fit
depends if key compatible board but I agree kinda
key compatible?
well some slots are sometimes sata incompatible, or in rare situations, m key incompatible and only do msata
very uncommon now, but on really old boards yeah
also go back far enough and you wouldn't even have m.2 slots
oh old dell yhaswelll board right
throw key compatible out, that would be pre 4th gen
not even a slot to begin with
lol
4th gen just doesn't have m.2 outside of hedt
there's msata and mini pcie slots on some oem boards I guess
so even some 4th gen would be out of luck too lol
there are custom aftermarket 4th gen consumer boards from like china that have m.2 slots I think
I was saying like buy a few but just leave them sitting until I got everything lol i’m not gonna try to use a dang 4070 with a i7 4790 lol
but in terms of upgrading gradually, I'd pair a new cpu, new board, new ssd and ram, not go with new old
try and grab the cpu and ssd first
of all the things that's the one that you want to get both for 229
it's a limited sale
Ye
the rest are easily substituted
Do I need the 850w or would it run with a 750w?
750w is fine, nay a good 650w honestly
thing is this is the best psu in the sub 100 range rn just about
and it's only a few more dollars for a very nice upgrade so, may as well
means you can carry it over later
I forgor wat watt my psu is tbh
RM750e I think is 10 less
but I feel honestly, $10 is well spent
it's a good bit better than an RMe according to aris
will using the 850w make my power bill go up more or nah
yeah I can buy everything besides the gpu rn
then gotta wait for my paycheck on monday to get the gpu
No
A psu only pulls the power the pc is requiring
the parts will sip what they need
A bigger psu can actually reduce power bill funnily enough
efficiency
Since a psu is more efficient when its using a lower % of its total wattage available (to a certain extent)
Its really negligible, but its there
the differences are so small anyway, you'll notice maybe a couple dollars on your electric bill
running your air con for 10 minutes would cost more than running your pc for a few hours
yeah my my damn town charges a damn arm and a leg for power
I had to pay $834 last month
the higher proportion of the wattage rating being used, like 450 watts of a 500 watt unit, the lower the relative efficiency, so like an 850w psu running a 450w computer will waste a little less energy
so just get the 850w then
pcpartpicker recommend the pc for 436W
and I heard its good to get 150-200 more than what it recommends
again, a good 650w would work
that's a wattage estimate, just based on the manufacturers' listed wattages
but the best in the price range is the a850gl
HUH
yes sir
Hold up
my town is a scammer
This genuinely might be a reason for a platinum rated psu
that's a factory power bill lol
my town is like known in the area for having high ass power bills
Even if it's a $10 difference?
using the stove for an hour would use more than a pc in a day
what electric company
these are tiny as hell differences
Or a step up in the tier list too
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mW4Ycf/super-flower-leadex-platinum-850-w-80-platinum-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-sf-850f14mp
What gpu? Sorry I missed earlier
4070 Super
I'd lean towards the p5 probably, $10 more than the msi 850 agl
it needs to be 140mm long
want to see my current pc lol I got this video
some go above
make ya'll cringe
some go below
it's a coimpuer
the last pc I built before this one is i7-4790 + gtx 970
wait no
i5-4460
4790 is in my lenovo beepboop
I did with gt 730
should all be fine tbh
then this
hm?
of all the power efficiency discussion
the one thing
one thing that would make your pc more efficient
the nvidia gpu
and the ryzen cpu
lol
those don't draw nearly as much as their competitive counterparts
get this first
Do I need to get thermal paste or is it already pre installed
comes with the cooler
ye
lol
just pay my mom's bills
if you use my card, it delivers to my address
do you get a tracking number and all that with newegg I literally never bought anything from newegg
should do yeah
damn $20 tax
I hate living in the US
do I need to get like a special screwdriver to unscrew the m.2 slot?
I heard you do
phillips
make sure to eat your ram
Gotta download more ram also when I get the pc right
lol
Get it NOW
You have 18 seconds before I throw a strawberry at you
Put yourself in debt rn
I only need $1849 for my gpu
oh god
hello i have a AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D what aio do i get?
🤣 🤣 🤣
Here’s the AIO you need to cool it
No joke, that processor runs just fine on the stock AMD cooler. You don't need to spend more than $15-20.
Could probably get away with one of these
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YwbTwP/id-cooling-se-214-xt-682-cfm-cpu-cooler-se-214-xt-argb-white
Do I need thermal paste and if so which should I buy?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
So I do need it? Because I’m installing a cpu cooler as you can see
Coolers come with paste
But should I buy it separately
MX6 is just really good, but in the end gets you maybe 4 degrees colder
Mx-6 gang
It’s just good to have spare thermal paste
And it’s literally $6
Whoever pinged me in #building-and-recc-chat, I can't view
@potent portal would 1x16 work better of ddr4 ram than 2x8
2x8 far better
Originally went in for thermal paste
Gotcha
PILLOW
Dual sticks gets you about 15-20% better performance in real world tests, but DDR4 is so cheap now it's hard to not recommend 2x16
Spicy pillow!
Drop that in a bucket of sand and pop it for free fireworks and glass
Trying to get 16gb for $30 for this build, and every time I’m like, cool everything is ready for Thursday, someone buys what I had in my cart
It’s happened 4 times
I kid you not
Case, PSU, PSU, and now the ram
do you usually go to the grocery store, fill up your cart, then come back for it a few days later to buy it all?
well, dont do that online either
This is why I start shopping after I have the money in hand, or at least credit available that I can use to float the payment for a week before I pay it off.
I’d rather just do it now, and fill in any issues that arise as they go
Anyone know my pc only lets me select 165hz when my monitor is 170hz
all thats doing is wasting time
but if you simply prefer to waste time then so be it
It’s filling time that would otherwise be doomscrolling
Plus if I have any questions or concerns, I can adjust ahead of time
It's probably the cable you're using
5hz really isn't noticeable, I wouldn't worry about it
toss the pocket computer bro, its worth it. got rid of mine, haven't looked back
feel better doing literally nothing as opposed to staring at it
Unfortunately I can’t
I’d love to go phoneless, but I am getting married to someone with OI, which if anything happens to her, I need to be there asap.
I’ve not had social media in years. The only thing I have is Reddit and discord.
Is the display cable that came with the monitor, but yeah I was just curious
Also idk if it's screen tearing or what but whenever i move side to side in a game it gets like blurry/fuzzy
It's not motion blur in game
I’ve almost completely
It’s just useful for finding random questions
for sure still useful, but that was one of the last accounts I deleted
still find my way there through google for specific things
TAA maybe?
If it's a slight blur only when you move it's most likely TAA
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 6800 XT
Upgrade thoughts for 1440p 165hz, ultra graphics? I play games like Horizon Zero Dawn, CoD MW3/Cold War, 7 days to die, Forza Horizon 5, Ace combat 7, etc
a 7900 gre i guess?
is that your current build
X3d cpu
Yes
My 6800xt barely fits
But I'll look into it
Maybe there's as n xfx that fita
*fits
Or a tuf
I have a weird sound "buzzing" sound whenever I'm tabbed into a game
When I tab out it stops
Can I get pic/vid perms plz so I can send or can I dm to someone?
@fiery nova you have to talk long enough
I could on my old account
I lost login cuz I'm dumb
I think it fixed on pc restart, still concerning tho
Just talk for a few more messages
Nvm it started back up again
I feel like it might be gpu
Cuz whenever I tab out it stops
lock FPS
oh hm
Oh I can send now
My phones like on top of my pc there so it's a lot louder
My temps and performance is still fine so idk
Does anyone have any idea on what it could be and if it's a problem
It only appears to happen if my gpu is at like 70% utilization and over ~270w
If I tabbed out or like looking in the sky it stops
I'm going to guess it's coil whine from the GPU then
Since it's so situation specific
There isn't really a fix for coil whine as far as I know since it's a physical issue
Is it a problem?
Other than in terms of sound
No
It's caused by coils in your hardware vibrating when specific conditions occur
I've seen people hot glue the coil to fix it but frankly that's a terrible fix
Yeah as long as it's not a problem I dont mind leaving it, it's unnoticeable with headphones on
Only reason I heard it is cuz I had headphones off for a bit
Gotcha, that's fair enough
Just double check to make sure no cables are hitting your fans
Ye no cables hitting it
It actually still happens if I'm looking In The sky but much less noticeable
The whoosh sound is my mouse
This is me just looking in the sky and then looking straight head ahead
Yeah it sounds like coil whine to me
Alright thanks appreciate the help
Also I might've asked this a couple days ago but is it safe for my pc if I game with my window open in the winter
Like close to 0c outside
My room is naturally warm and with the pc it gets hot in here
Like the temps inside the pc?
itll be fine, dw about it
I used to leave my window open gaming while it was snowing outside, my roommate thought I was crazy until one day he stepped into my room and said "oh dang it really is warm in here"
The key point is the dew point. Keep the temp inside the PC above that and you won't get condensation.
Odds are you're nowhere near it unless you have a crazy phase change cooler or a modded AC unit directly hooked up to it
Yeah that
fine case
How often should I clean my pc
Depends on how quickly it gets dirty
If you're in a dusty region like a desert, every couple weeks. If you're in Alaska, every few months. It varies.
Check filters, make sure they stay clean, that's about it
Don't let fans spin while cleaning
Probably somewhere in the middle of what I said then
👍
XFX generally are some of the longest amd cards
my 6950 merc is only 2.5 slots but is almost 350mm long
I’d rather have a longer card rather than one that’s like 4.5 slots
True
That’d be kinda funny tho
Though depending on the situation, either/or can be better
Like a single fan 4 slot card
no
Way too overkill
Get a good single tower, low profile cooler at a minimum with a good coldplate
Thermalright assassin X V2 plus is a really good one and overkill in itself for 7800X3D
Since the problem is the CPU runs hot, but only due to the fact the IHS on the cpu is so thick it basically insulates the chip instead of moving the heat off it. What you get is a cpu that will naturally run hot (especially with the vcache) and it just won't get very effective heat extraction from really any cooler
@spice dragon example
7600X pulls more power than a 7800X3D and is by and large plenty cold even on a good dual tower here
A single tower is more than enough
This one is really good
Does anyone know how to fix insane fps stutter?
I’ve been having bad stutter lately, but it’s never happened to me before. Like it just started all of a sudden
cap fps
4070 Ti SUPER or 4080 SUPER
wich one it better for a Ryzen 7 7800 x 3d
With such a generalized question, you get a generalized answer.
Whichever GPU you can afford that does what you want it to.
Obviously the 4080 super would do higher settings/frames
Totally agree with Fal. Short hand questions get short hand answers
You won't really get ideal advice
i can afford both but wich one is good
what is your budget
Ok, what games? What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor?
2k
2560 x 1440
1440p ok
yes
(it's not a standardized naming but 1440p is often referred to as 2k even though 1080p is a lot closer to 2000 horizontal pixels)
1440p is better considered 2.5K
Indeed
if you shop for "2K" monitors, we've seen it here before, you can often end up with a 1080p
so what is your budget
Depending on what games you play, the 4070 ti super can often easily push 1440p high refresh but if you're doing ray traced games the 4080 is better
i all ready have some parts |
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Cooler: Kraken X73 RGB, White
Motherboard: Aorus Elite AX ICE B650
Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 - White
i just want to buy the graphics card and monitor
ok so you want a white build
yes
but what's your total budget
my monitor and graphics card recommendations do a whole 180 based on the answer to this question
for the graphics card 1200$ and the monitor maybe 400$
if you did 960 for the graphics card and 640 for the monitor, you could do OLED
or swap the cooler out for something much cheaper, that would also grant you OLED
gaming and photoshop both benefit enormously from this
i can get an oled monitor but late r
e.g
but now do i get the 4070 ti super or 4080
I have, but it’s still doing the same ☹️
Introducing the KTC G27P6 OLED Gaming Monitor - the ultimate display for gamers, designers, and office workers who demand the highest level of performance and quality. With a sleek and modern design, this 27 inch OLED monitor boasts a stunning 240Hz 1440p resolution, offering crystal clear visual...
i already bought the nzxt kraken
I know, but if you return it and swap to the dual tower, you'll lose no performance but you can spend way more on the monitor and get something 10x better
do you recomend gagabyte AERO
no
aero is always expensive
in fact there aren't any decently priced white gpus rn
I'd recommend a can of white paint lol
🤣 🤣 🤣
hey $10 vs $150 and they'd look the same with some patience
I'm more of a "plasti dip the shroud" guy
ok thanks alot my friend
More easily reversed than paint
plastidip works too
much better if you want to backtrack
for your budget I'd do this
Part List - GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
if you can't swap the cooler, do this
for the gpu
and still go oled
this one is dead easy to paint
the black part of the shroud comes easily undone, and they look great in white
the problem is that im used to nvidia im not thinking to change
it looks cleaaaan
mhm
in your situation amd would make no difference
in fact, it's arguably faster
while spending less
the backplate would be silver
is it good for fps games
like call of dute
call of duty LOVES AMD
talking like differences up to 30% more fps in some of them
here's someone else's paint job:
i just saw a test and the 4080 super is like the same
I've seen the 7900 XTX beat the 4090 in CoD at 1440p because the game loves the drivers that much
it's not all cod games
but some are just night and day better on AMD
@spice dragon
one example I vividly remember
i think i well get it you convinced me🤣
lol
Merc is a good binned card and easy to paint
your only catch is it's not going to be the quietest
there are other XTX options though
there is no a msi or gaabyte ?
I think hellhound paints well
there are msi but they're quite literally worse than stock for XTX
the goats are XFX and Sapphire
MSI and Gigabyte kinda mid
Asrock honorable mention for the top cards
only with OCF
Which is why it's only honorable mention
and even then, their ability to miss the die with paste has an incredible count in my head far more than any other brand

idk gigabyte simply forgetting thermal pads on 3080s was pretty bad too
if white paint seems like too much effort @spice dragon
but no higher than this
it's about on what I'd call the aesthetics limit of 10% over others
is it good with ryzen 7 7800 x 3d?
ofc
they all are
that's why we gave generalised answers at first
it's easier to target advice with context
7800X3D is the single best gaming CPU currently
You can put it with literally any GPU
if you go the taichi btw, you'd need to swap the kraken cooler
if you want an lcd aio I'd suggest the thermalright frozen vision
same price/slightly cheaper and far, farrrr better
the problem that i bought it and open it
ah I see
ok
either way, your build will be pivotal on getting that oled monitor imo
huge deal
especially for fps games
and you get unmatched color accuracy for photoshop
it's not even comparable to anything else
im just waiting for my cpu to arive and then i will but the oled monitor
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
what does ddu means
switching from NV to AMD you'll kinda want this ^
it cleans and sanitises the drivers for the graphics cards
gets it all out of your windows
for a fresh install
very very useful tool if you also run into gaming problems
Anyone have any ideas why my pc goes down to 1 fps when tabbing out? Its very rare probably happens 1 in every 100 times I tab out
Everything in task manager is fine while it's happening
Just my entire pc goes to 1 fps for a solid ~7 seconds
literally on the post "DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato"
Should be all the ones running on the modern cod engine (MW2019 and up)
@regal blade
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/VGtyBL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Radeon RX 6750 XT, GameMax Spark MicroATX Mid Tower
Fair bit better
how is the 5500 better than the 5600x
but not better than the 5600x
and this is a budget build
plus the psu isnt even modular
Yes? A 5500 is fine for the 6750xt
And the psu is the best choice under 110
It's a solid quiet unit
btw 5600x comes without a cooler
so you will be spending effectively the same money for a machine with worse gpu
coz cooler cost
wow
0303 BIOS version on a B650M-A Wifi 2
a BIOS version that doesn't even exist on Asus's website
@obsidian wigeon that doesn't sound right to me
asus does that with some bios updates
and the worst part is that I'm stuck on it because I can't flash the bios
it gets delivered before asus even published it on support
I mean I can try to like
borrow a flash drive from my stepdad and use that to update the bios
maybe it'll work
it technically could be the drive being picky
It comes with a stock amd wraith cooler
ah, nevermind on that then
i still think felix's list is the better one tho
better gpu matters more in this instance
I would also agree but the place I’m getting these parts from doesn’t have a 6650xt they only have the 6600
can't you buy from other places?
and ive checked all pc stores near me the only place i can get the 6650xt is on amazon or on ebay both of which are not 100% safe
cant be stuffed
its not that i think its hard it just i cant be bothered to do it
plus ive already decided where to get the parts i just wanted 2nd opinions on it
the second opinions are that you can be safe on ebuy :^)
are air coolers the ones that look like boxes
Air coolers tend to just be better in general for gaming
Anyone who has a Thermaltake Versa H18 case, is the rgb strip addressable
Head to google and see if you can find out
This is cool!
When overclocking a cpu . How much more performance should it give ? After restarting it said it was .02 more don't remember what lol
Warzone is cpu dependent
wz 1 wasnt too cpu dependant, 2 is
I just leave my CPU OC on auto in the bios
Might have to do that. Everytime we overclock once you shut off it goes back to default
Do those numbers look OK?
Is 99% usage ok
Yeah
Especially with those temps. You're fine
It's also a 6 core too so...
I have a 5900x on my big system and it's usually around 75-80% usage when I game
@obsidian wigeon would a Thermalright Frost Commander 140 beat a 360?
Wow really?
Even a Freezer III???
That's insane
maybe not LF3
And def not a T30
but definitely the second one
Since that's just in a whole higher league with the next gen fans
LF3 is on a league of its own
T30 is above it tho
ya
Cuz it's got the premium fans
like those are top two
this one will do just fine for you
if it can cool a 13700k fine
So yeah maybe not an LF3 or a T30
But that FC140 is still beating 99% of AIOs
i wouldn't worry
That's kinda insane if you think about it
Thermalright out here locked in a deadly cooling arms race
Competing with itself lmao
Yeyeye, makes sense
Esp in a good venting case
Though a P200A may not be exactly the best ventilation for a 7700X and 7900XTX
It's still two 120s in the front so
but i think it's fine
CPU would be gud
And the GPU is right against the vented bottom
Since it's a top PSU design
right
It should be fine right?
ye
Sure there is no actual I take fans (unless you Frankenstein them to the bottom outside of the case)
But that's still mesh allowing the GPU to intake fresh air from the bottom
That's entirely fair, or you can get like two P12 Max fans and connect them to the GPU (Sapphire has a 4pin PWM linked to GPU temps so it can kick on fans)
Which I think is a really neat feature for like SFF builds where you really want to optimize noise and airflow
Frankly that's a use case where I would actually be willing to pay a little extra
It's pretty much a pay less more noise or more for less noise game
If you look at the side profile
I think a 25mm thick fan would totally fit into the bottom (maybe affixed with zipties, cable routed into the case through the PCIE slot and plugged into a nearby fan header)
Or again, if you get a Sapphire Nitro+, you can literally just plug a daisy chain PWM connector right into the GPU and tune the curve to let them ramp up
The one time where I can totally justify spending extra on a higher-end GPU model
Sadly you appear to need their Trixx software to get PWM fan control, but you probably just need to set a fan curve there and then you're free to uninstall it
@obsidian wigeon actually does any other mfg put PWM or ARGB headers on their GPUs?
I honestly have no idea
Cuz the Nitro+ cards all have that big RGB bar
And you can plug that RGB bar into the mobo
Which I think is pretty based actually
I mean it has a PWM header on the GPU
And an ARGB in from the mobo
They even provide the cable to connect the GPU RGB to mobo which is cool
ah
So yeah that could be something you would want depending on what your use case is
SFF builds come to mind where you're limited on headers and need to sync lighting (for a build you might intend to flip) or you want to let the GPU breathe better
But yeah it has a 4 pin PWM header for fan control and a 3 pin 5v ARGB connector to let mobo control the lighting
@obsidian wigeon question
I have the option to get a 6gb gtx card
For like $30 from a friend
Is that enough to do heavily modded Skyrim
1660 I think he said
1660 likely
it can be anything lol
even a 2060 best case
iunno, physically look at it
then find out what it is
I’ll have him send a pic to me
@obsidian wigeon never mind, he doesn’t want to anymore:(
f
is it possible to run elden ring at max graphics for $1200
I don't have time, but 7600x/7900 gre list
Yep
7600x off newegg, mp33 1tb free with it
Assassin x 120 v2 plus
B650m-a pro wifi
Adata xpg blade 6400 cl32 32gb
7900 GRE, Pulse? Iirc
Bitfenix nova m mesh argb/gamemax m60+thermalright c12c 3 pack/sama im01
Msi A850GL psu
That should hit around 1200-ish @wild peak
If you put that into pcpartpicker it'll spit out a list of places to buy from
Actually, 4070 super fits
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
Slightly better than GRE
@wild peak
wait whats up with the ssd?
It's free with the cpu off newegg
oh sick

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
I got a 240hz acer nitro monitor
240hz what res
1920x1080
Use the second list
1080p is weaksauce for 2K budget, you may as well go oled and get an extreme monitor upgrade for responsiveness and clarity
Ye
Cos 1080p 240hz is wasted on anything over a 6700XT
If you stuck to the same monitor it'd be a 7600X 6700Xt list
Which is about 1K
so what should I do
Cos the monitor will bottleneck the fps gains
I'd either go with the 2nd list
Or I can make a new one with a 6700xt
wtv gets me good fps n good performance for the games i said
They all will, it's just a question if you want to change monitor or not
Cos the monitor will cap out at 240 for pretty much all of these
Anything higher than 240 you won't see so won't really be a benefit other than mild smoothness
Oh oops I left the ssd out hold on
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
This
The ssd is free with the cpu
Can also use the cpu cooler from the other 2 lists if you want
This is an SFF pc btw
Conveniently cheap
bet ty

@little osprey If you run into fortnite issues come back
It should run just fine on a 6700xt (especially DX11/performance mode) but just in case, leaving the door open
okok thank you

can you send the link please?
thx
i need help
what you need help with
i need to find a rtx 3060 12gb gpu for 300AUD
I dont live in australia but thats around 200 US
check ebay
and use the filters and set it to 300 Australian dollars
or newegg
Helps narrow down your search and scroll down till you find someone selling a 3060 in good condition
You only gonna find used ones
its gonna be impossible to find a new one for under 300 AUD unless you are very luck for a flash sale to happen on that item
The 27-inch ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM1A Full HD gaming monitor features a Fast IPS panel for overclockable to 280 Hz gaming. No, but yes. You would need to get a monitor "bracket" that's Vesa mount compatible.
Basically you set the monitor in the bracket and then you can mount it to the arm.
when they wake up they will
i wouldn't get an aio for such cpu
and no need for paste, tho it's nice to have if you need to use more later
This is much much better

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Thermaltake V250 TG ARGB Air ATX Mid Tower
how so?
the 5600x is better then the 5600]
and i cant get a 6750xt
they nt sell it in my state
Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow Edition 1050W 80+ Gold Full Modular SLI/Crossfire Ready ATX 3.0 Power Supply; PCIe Gen.5 600W 12VHPWR Connector Included; PS-TPD-1050FNFAGU-N; 10 Year Warranty
is this a good power supply?
Just overclock it
Better yet, just turn on PBO
I have a 5600G in my second system and it's kicking it pretty well
im alrdy turning on xmp
is pbo the same as xmp
No
PBO is an automatic overclocker for your CPU (better than manually OC'ing on Ryzen). XMP is a profile setting for memory (RAM) that configures the clocks, voltages, and timings
oh
I personally just OC my RAM to its rated frequency. I usually have problems with XMP and DOCP
I’ll ask my pc friends to help me with that as idk much bout OC
5600x isn't better than 5600
Theyre the same cpu, it's about a 1-2% difference
I'd try to do this though, and add gpu as you want (preferably 7600 or 6700xt)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Thermaltake V250 TG ARGB Air ATX Mid Tower
They're basically the same, and mucy much better gpu, could get this instead then
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/NCwmP6/pny-verto-geforce-rtx-4060-ti-8-gb-video-card-vcg4060t8dfxpb1
They'd be going a good 100 over budget at least
Only thing worth manually overclocking is your gpu, other than that just turn on pbo and xmp
With this build and a 6700xt it’s over my budget
What about 7600.
I would rather an r5 7600+ rx 7600 than 5600+ 6750xt
Especially for longevity/upgradability
Over budget
What is a decent budget build rn?
Below a 1000 for sure, light gaming like fort, gta and stuff and work stuff
Can do cheaper on psu if you're not worried about upgradability

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7600, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Either Prestige 600w or cx 750
Ssd is free with the 7600x on wegg
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7600, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Can swap gpu to something better in both lists as well
@regal blade literally the best possible for your budget
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
Can't shrink it
Spent a good 20 minutes this time, nothing comes close to the value out of this list and it's worth the $30 extra
Thank you
Aight
Think it needs to be said btw, 6700xt is a good 70% faster than the 6600
Be throwing away almost half of your fps if you commit to the 6600
6700xt is a good card and it runs many games well
ok it's well and truly minmaxed now
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
I have literally scanned every single article now
Damn still a lot for those parts I feel like lol
the reality of living here...
I have same build but with 5500 and 6700xt for 500 💀
but at least these numbers translate fairly well
I have same ram but different motherboard
it translates well
but there's a some 10-20% extra for every item
bar the gpu
gpus are just blegh here
Damn
wtf
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
@mossy venture
what is wrong with my country
It’s over for au, might as well buy a prebuilt no?
I got the list within a dollar
ok this is genuinely better
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
@regal blade literally the best possible ^
1080p build
you've got a board that happily takes a 5950x now, with bios flash
decent gen 4 ssd
4060 Ti which is slightly faster in raster over 6700XT but less vram and bit bus so it's thoroughbred 1080p, almost 2x faster than a 6600 now
cheapest not garbage psu possible
cheapest mesh case with 3 fans
the cheapest best keyboard I can find bar the EVGA Z20 but this would be better to type with
and probably one of the best budget mice available
only alternative to that above, would be this if you must have a better cooler:
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/mq8tdH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
but the motherboard will only really do 5700X max, the keyboard and mouse albeit still ok are not as nice either
yep that's the limit
I've checked absolutely everything now, it won't physically get better unless you start replacing everything with used parts
havent used my laptop in a very long time. is 51c idle temp on gpu normal?
Does the mob have wifi6?
Wifi 5!?!?
