Ok, download GPUz
I hate to sound dumb again but idk what you mean
Google search GPUz and download it.
what website should i download it from
or does it not matter
@frigid night
Did you install drivers?
That works too. Download the latest GPU drivers. Go to install them. When you get an option for fresh install, make sure you check the box
it says theres none available to update
Download them from the AMD website
Update manually
I never install drivers through device manager.
bro idk what I am doing I'm sorry :/
You're good. I'm just letting you know what I do.
Yes, make sure you download the right ones for which windows you have.
and after I download it?
Run it.
fair enough.
Then follow this
If you are unsure, takes screenshots and post them and we'll walk you through it.
Gotta glove up. If I don't respond right away, I apologize
now we wait
@obsidian wigeon I don't wanna keep bugging neo who I am assume is working
i assume you can help
i imagine thats the correct thing to install
do I need to install this
You want to do the factory reset option as well
Yes.
It'll delete all remnants of the previous GPU drivers so you start with fresh new GPU drivers
If you don't do that, chances are you could still have the current issue.
its greyed out it wont let me check it
I wonder if you just had generic GPU drivers then.
Ok then just follow through with installing the GPU drivers
i never did anything when i first installed everything
im assuming thats all fine
Yep
installing
Im building a new pc but im reusing my old 1tb ssd do I still got to download ddu
You'll want to reinstall windows completely so no need to use DDU
Especially if you are changing motherboards and CPU.
do I need to get a flash drive for windows
Yes. One that is at least 8gb. I'd opt for 16gb
how do i wipe my ssd clean
You just need to reinstall windows. Follow the process outlined in our FAQ guide and you'll be set. https://discord.com/channels/500085440221806603/1024747840897036288
How do I delete it tho
like clean uninstall it
my old driver and intel cpu
When you start to install the windows, it'll ask you which storage drive you want to install it too. That's when you delete the partitions of your windows drive (this deletes everything on the drive.. like nothing left).
Sweet. Looks like you just had generic drivers then. You mentioned that you haven't done anything since putting the PC together so.. I HIGHLY recommend going to your mobo manufacture website and downloading chipset drivers.
uhhhh
what is this
So I uninstall amd display drivers and intel cpu drivers and thats it
oh nvm ill wait you are helping someone else sorry
leave amd user experience program
No. You are wiping the drive completely clean. Drivers are installed within windows. You will be deleting windows itself. No need to uninstall any drivers as there won't be any to uninstall once windows is deleted.
What's up?
Ok so I just unscrew the ssd and plug it into thje new one
what is that page
Yes. Then once you've completely built the PC and turn it on. Reinstall windows.
Your AMD drivers. You can control how the GPU works. I'd suggest not messing with these settings atm
So I finish building the pc I screwed in the ssd before I turn it on I put in the flash drive then thats it
There is more to it than that. Build your new PC then come back so we can help you in real time.
My brother wants to build it I just wanna tell him what to do
I’m having an SSD problem too…
Whenever I got to install windows, it says I have no storage
my ssd also has a red light on it
ok so i’m building my pc rn and i don’t know where my psu goes and what plugs into what can someone help me out?
Rear of the case
Switch thing will be facing the outside
There will be four screws assuming it’s an ATX PSU
i gotta rm750
ok

do i plug the pcie cables in?
Only plug in what you need
If you’re using a GPU then yes
Just used for HDD’s, 2.5in SSD’s, and other junk like fan controllers and such
so i need to plug it in?
working on a £900 gaming pc plus monitor, appreciate if anyone can give me any tips to improve it :)
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xD3LVw
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Do I need to buy gpu holder support if my gpu is gigabyte 6750xt oc 3fans ?
i just got done building it but it’s not turning on
Is there any debug leds on?
what’s that?
And how is it not turning on
Well they're the small lights usually placed on the right side of the board
About top right
So none are on then
Yeah you have to put it on, but that's not important right now
Try checking if you have connected case front panel cables to f_panel header
Does it not respond to the power button at all?
no
You have some cables unplugged then
Look for the board's manual, and case's if there's any
Any from the case?
The case should have front panel cables and power switch cables
like in the back?
Check anywhere on the case
It always routes from where the power switch is placed on the case
Refer to the manual, page 6 for how to connect them once you've found the cables
i found 2
i still can’t find the cords for it
so youre trying to find the front panel cables?
yea
they will be small thin cables which plug into the fpanel on the bottom right of your motherboard
they will be coming down from the case button area
unimportant but you forgot to put the IO shield for the motherboard in before installing the motherboard
that is a female fan connector
that and the one in the back is the only ones i can find
i only fount the power sw
looks like your motherboard is the B550 A-Pro right?
yea
plug that power sw into the JFP1 connector on the bottom left of the motherboard matching it like this image
I think that is the correct area but it is hard to make out
nevermind it appears to be bottom right
yea that’s the one i got the ps connected to
ah okay
have you done a check to make sure all connectors are connected well?
cpu, mobo, gpu etc
if that all is good then youre good to flip the psu power switch and then hit the power button
based on your previous image you sent here it appears to be good
IT TURNED ON!!!!
awesome 🙂
Youre welcome!
I would recommend getting another fan to put in that case though
it will get pretty hot in there so to have an exhaust fan on the back it will help tremendously
to put in the back?
no no
you have to remove the motherboard to put it in
you could unscrew motherboard and pull it back couple inches to get it in btw
dont worry about it right now. but it is something to consider doing at some point
no need to unplug everything
You'll possibly damage the motherboard then some if you force it in there
ok i’ll unscrew in and put it in rq
the rounded edge side goes inside towards the outside of the case
if that makes sense
yea ik what your sayin
Anyone know whats better between the 2 Acer VG272U 27" WQHD 170Hz IPS Gaming Monitor
and Gigabyte GP-M27Q-P-AP?
M27q afaik, but usually it's not priced the best compared to other options, what country are you in?
So basically better buy the M27q?
Ah i see, idk there might be better options, and the acer might be close in comparison, I'd check out some reviews, rtings.com, hardware unboxed, monitors unboxed are great resources for monitors, toms hardware might do monitors too i cannot remember, there's a couple other smaller review sites as well I can't think the name of
Thank you. Maybe the m27q since I watched few couples of review but just asking since people recommends better .
M27q is definitely better, just a matter of if the $100 is worth it
Personally if the acer is not too comparatively inferior, I would go for it as it saves me money
the acer is better iirc if you ignore refresh rate
vg271 is trash but 272u is good
m27q has worse blacks and both have bad hdr
ok my pc turns on and all but when i put the hdmi cord into my tv nothing happens
So get the acer or m27q?
Whatever is cheapest
Where are you plugging in the hdmi
Okay thanks
the gpu
Thank you alsooo
Whats better Gigabyte M27Q or Asus Tuf VG27AQ 27?
Depends on the price diff
seconded
Almost the same difference is 10$
284usd the g27q and 323usd m27q. Difference is refresh rate only ?
Basically, also m27q has a KVM but that's pretty irrelevant to most
I'd get the g27q then
seconded
Refresh rate doesnt matter much?
Okay thank you so much . I appreciate it
144hz isn't that far off 170
most peoples eyes can't see the difference between the two
No problem
me being a high level esports player but not being able to tell between 90 and 240
a 144hz is a good upgrade but like most people i know cant notice 240vs140
Thanks everyone I appreciate it
Did I choose the wrong parts for this build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bZ9kGL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6800, Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact Lite RGB ATX Mid Tower
I'm just wondering if I should have gone intel
Could have gotten better parts for the price but it's not bad
Like what?
The ssd isn't the best, but I got it on sale on prime day, not sure for how much but it was cheaper.
Skip the cooler and get this ram https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GkJgXL/teamgroup-t-create-expert-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-cl18-memory-ttced432g3600hc18jdc01
Ram was also on sale
Double capacity and faster
I already got the PC, and the person using the PC is going to play Roblox and minecraft
They needed a reliable PC to use for the next few years
Yeah I'm just saying that was an option since you asked
To be fair, it's more capacity, but also more expensive
Right which is why you would skip the cooler and just use the one that comes with the cpu
You'd save money and get about 10% more performance out of the CPU
pretty decent
there are some things I'd change personally https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9g8fsL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower
but it's far from the worst I've seen
Honestly fair enough, but what's done is done. I just need to know for future reference
This
@mossy venture
I know, I was just making you a list to compare
Alright
It's fairly likely you could overclock the memory to 3600 at least, that way you'd still get that performance boost from a faster infinity fabric
Does it really make that much of a difference?
The infinity fabric is how the cores talk to each other
The faster they can talk, the better it is at multi tasking and multi core tasks, like many games since they can use 4 threads pretty often these days
Which does use at least 2 threads
One main thread sure but it does use a secondary
Honestly there's only so much the cpu can do in Minecraft
My pc, with the right mods, can get well over 1500 fps
You'd get less hitching when it changes the active core then, better 1% low fps
The 1% lows are going to be in the hundreds, so it doesn't really matter on a 60hz screen
I'm guessing it's not gonna be a problem
Probably not serious but could be avoided is all
The person is upgrading from a i7 4770/GTX 650 ti, and that was fine for them. The only reason they're upgrading is their PC is unreliable and crashes all the time.
Alright, thanks for the advice, I appreciate it
Which ram should I use then?
what are the two kits
the 3090 shipped peeoples
and uh
7.5kg has to be with a box and extra packing material
like
it has to be
the zotac can't be that heavy
that gotta be some hefty packaging
I mean it looks like a hefty GPU too
the gpu at least weighs like a chunk of that whole package
so probably not too crazy
Nah it definitely is, whatchu mean?
Yeah but how heacvy would that box and packadging material have to be to do that much weight
I too know that two is less than seven and the card is probably around two
but like
where tf did the 7 come from
Amazon being amazon
extra silicon
or the polish femboy packing it just overkilled on packing super hard
could anyone help me find this monitor? it’s 125$ on fbm, guy said no dead pixels or scratches at 1440p which is weird..
also 165hz, yet it says 120 there..
looks like this for reference
Also I can’t tell if this is a VA or an IPS
Designed for intense fast-paced games. The Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27” WQHD gaming IPS display with 1ms (MPRT) response time and blazing 165Hz refresh rate to give you super-smooth game play. The VG27AQ features G-SYNC compatibility and ELMB Sync technology to eliminate screen tearing and gho...
that's the AQ
idk if it's similar or the same to just A
ya the vg27a is a way older model to the AQ
dunno if anyone could find specs and compare the two?
120hz on screenshot mainly because they used hdmi. It's a pretty good monitor (for that price maybe)
but overall I should buy it for 125$?
guy says it’s in perfect condition, don’t know why he’d sell it for this much though.
Also G-Sync still works with amd cards right?
Yea, the monitor is freesync compatible. Few monitors are only Gsync also. I'll say worth a look. Full $50 lower than my special deal x27q was.
wasn’t yours bought new though? 😭
Yea, but $50 is $50. Dust is only dust.
true.
also I just realized it’s an AQ model
above the “HDR off” it says so.
I could double check with the guy, ask him to take a picture of the model # on the back
is it better if gonna go triple monitor all same size ?
you could for convenience, but if the smaller monitor can be raised and align with the bigger one, then you should be fine
plus there’s a setting inside the pc where you can fix the alignment.
Check this out on @Newegg:OLOy OWL 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model ND4U1632161DJ0DA https://www.newegg.com/oloy-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820821287?Item=N82E16820821287&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-20-821-287-_-07172023 this in both a 16x2 and a 8x2
both 3200mhz?
Also this is what I am trying to build Shared List https://newegg.io/b65cd1cb
I would not buy most of that
Yes
the 2x16 is what you should use
Umm I already did I am just missing the power supply and the motherboard and windows but everything else I already bought
So what do I do with the 8x2
I have it all all I have been by pieces of this build every month
Then what should I use instead
windows, just not by spending $100 on it
Oh so you mean buy it somewhere cheaper then
you can get keys for $10 online, or just leave it unactivated
or if you have a windows device previously, you can just use that account
and it'll activate windows
Ok I'll do that then
So my build any tips ok how to improve if I need to buy new parts I'll do I want to do it right the first time and not miss on it
no it all works, it's just not well priced
you can do a 7900xtx 7600 build for the same price
Well in all honesty I always thought it was overpriced for this build, but this my time trying to pay parts for a build so I have no knowledge whatsoever. I used new egg program to help me with the build, but then I changed the parts it recommend to parts that look cool to me...
pcpartpicker.com is a better choice
it compares prices from different sites as well and gives you the lowest prices
the 5900x is worset han the 7600 in gaming, and costs more
and just most of those parts are either not great choices or are way overpriced for what they are
Thoughts?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T8HdjZ
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
Well thank you I will for sure use that site going forward. Now I kind of wish i ask here first about my build before buying the parts. But oh well live and learn. However I was planning to upgrade this build going forward
Actually I have another build in mind that I was planning ok buying parts for. Can you take a look and provide feedback?
yeah sure
Yes and No. Same size/pixel density/refresh rate (bonus if all same model) you'll have the best experience as everything will be same across all 3 monitors. When you start mixing sizes/density/refresh rates, you start getting minor bugs as well as the annoying mouse transitions between the monitors. Colors/brightness will look different between the monitors as well.
That said, I have 4 different monitors, each different in all 3 ways. The small little quirks aren't to bad, but if I could go back to when I ordered them.. I'd have ordered all same monitors.
Since you are wanting a 3 monitor setup, you might look into a good large ultrawide.
white corsair 750 fully modular same price
Thank you so this build I plan to make for a younger sibling of mine so has been wanting a pc for awhile. I have bought nothing for this except for the case because I already owned it before I thought of this build Shared List https://newegg.io/2bda4fa
if you’re spending 1000$ you might aswell buy a 6750xt build
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2yW2Kp @mossy lion
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Should be able to fit a 6800xt for $1000
that’s if I do a 5600
Yeah alright give me a min
With the case you have https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8CwGmr
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800 XT
Could downgrade gpu if you either want cheaper or if it's overkill for your use case
6650xt, 6700, 6750xt are good alternatives
Whatever the cheapest model is is fine
nvm disregard, read it wrong lol
Thank you i'll take your advice and go with the build you gave me thank you 😁
Happy to help my dude
If you want an aftermarket cooler, 214xt is $20 and rgb
Or pa120 se, ft120, and whatever other dual tower thermalright coolers are $30-45 and rival 240mm aios
Ok I'll take a look thank you 😁
Another how do I mark a reply as a favorite or save so I can refer back to the link you sent me?
open the link in your browser and then bookmark it.
True I didn't think of that thank you 😁
W
if that's the Dell oem one that cooler is actually hilariously good for how simple it is
waterblock it
@frigid night @obsidian wigeon my gpu is doing that thing again
my screen randomly goes black, i have to power off, turn on again, and my gpu just doesn't exist according to my task manager
bro what
he sold it to someone else 😭
asrock 6700 xt
@lone flame Device Manager, find your gpu, and click disable
i was having the same issue
then reenable
it should fix
but thing is, it’s not a perm fix.
it’s like a temp fix
don’t sleep/let your computer turn off by itself, always shut down
otherwise you’ll device manager, gpu, disable and reenable.
but @lone flame you reseated and ddu’d?
i reseated it saturday and updated/downloaded drivers, idk what ddu is
Disable automatic updates in windows update settings.
Also. Reinstall the drivers you downloaded and installed yesterday. This time choose that factory reset option that was previously grayed out. This will fix that issue.
just windows being a bad OS
arch user btw
if you have a pro edition of windows open gpedit and disable windows update driver updates from there
still greyed out
i just tried a drivers only install
whatever this is, is also saying it has a driver issue
Do you have more than 1 monitor?
Also, are you plugging monitor into GPU or motherboard?
no just one (which isnt a monitor its technically a smart tv)
just means your igpu drivers aren't installed
you can disable the igpu in bios or install the drivers for it if you want to use it
what does it do
and is that causing my current gpu issue
igpu can be useful for running more monitors or for video encode
.
also
?ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
still greyed out
bruh I literally just linked you the ddu guide
use that instead of factory reset
Doesn't radeon hate ddu tho?
no?
who told you that
I had to use it countless times on my 5700xts
nothing wrong with it
Hm okay
I heard it messes with some driver files that causes everything to break until you reinstall windows
AMD dislikes DDU, but it still works
Factory reset is the better option in most cases
worked perfect for my r5 240, 2 rx 570s and 3 5700xts
Rawr + amnermime zone devs.
one of my rx 570s managed to crash so hard that it didn't recognize the driver anymore but couldn't factory reset it
ddu was the only option
well first I'm hearing of this
Yeah there are some files that DDU just won't get rid of completely right that the factory reset does.
It's odd.
I feel like AMD needs to take some kind of action against microsoft
the fact that windows update messes with radeon cards but not nvidia cards and this has been known for years is sus
Running on the assumption that factory reset is functioning to start with
Yes
damn now I wanna run ddu on my r5 240 until windows breaks
if i’m correct it’s 6600xt < 3060 8/12gb < 6650xt < 3060 ti 8 gb < 6700xt < 3070 < 6750xt < 3070 ti < 3080 < 6800xt < 3080ti < 6950xt < 3090 + ti
3090+ ti > 4060

3090 +tie >4060
@earnest olive @obsidian wigeon So that issue with the drivers that Gavin was having, I have the same issue ever since April. I’ve disabled automatic windows updates, followed the pa-300 instructors, DDU/AMD utility my drivers 4 times, and reinstalled windows but have the same issue.
I also have Windows 10 Pro (in 11 Pro though)
6650xt Msi Mech btw
Might be the driver itself that's causing issues
Try installing older versions I think
tried that back in April, i’d also like to say if you contact AMD they refer you to RMA and pay shipping to whatever company you got it from 😭
this issue only started after their 3/23/23 update though
for me atleast
heck i’ll ddu to an old ver rn
i dont understand enough to fix it
neither do I
it’s either a windows or amd issue
i just did the disable and reenable
we can cross out a “hardware” issue
ill see how long that lasts
it’ll last you a week, or until your computer falls asleep/you put it to sleep
also whats the reason nvidia cards do so much better with ray-tracing compared to radeon cards
i sleep my pc quite a bit
mainly if i leave to go do smth for like 15-20 mins
sometimes it may disable the driver
sometimes it doesn’t
but everytime I do unless i’m running a game in the background, it doesn’t happen
didn't you forgot some commas

I don't get a thing of that
basically it goes left to right
812GB?
6950xt being worse than the 6600xt doesn't make sense to me

or less than
either that or you meanr the other simbol
fixed
6950 XT is also better than the 3090 and ties the 3090 ti
man if only there was only a chart
I was so confused for a moment
(But not in ray tracing)
I hate the damn symbols ><
ikr if only there was one pinned in #graphics-cards
just think as
pacman?
lesser size between the lines < greater size between the lines
tbf the pinned list is several months old and doesn't account for AMD improving their drivers
AMD loves linux tho
oh what about the driver problem"?
Open source drivers
- I think they need better customer service
is it fixed now?
uhh their MAJOR driver issues are fixed
What driver problem
you never heard of razer customer service
They haven't had driver issues in a few years now

basically the ones that stopped people from buying amd
those are long fixed
Yeah those were resolved long ago
you might be an unlucky one (just like me and gavin)

I rather not update them
Those were issues like 5700 XT killing itself accidentally, and those kinds of things were fixed around the time 6000 launched

but Gavin’s the only person who I know who has the same exact problem as me
otherwise
i don’t know anybody else
hmmm and for a 7800x3d what gpu would you use from amd
since amd seems to be around the same but less expensive

isn't there a less expensive one?
isn’t the 7900xtx cheaper than the 4080?
I was looking to spend around 2k max
What's the budget
in my upgrade alone
just "upgrade" so 2k
mbd, cpu, ram, cooler, gpu
oh and case
what are you upgrading-
You can easily fit a 7900 XTX into a 2k build
but the case I'm going for a lian li o11 white

lemme check in my country prices
🚪
Which country, so I can search local prices
portugal
Ah portuga;l
And is that 2k euro
yeah 2k euro
can't spend much cuz in need of a new car

damn polo is dying
- college
Hmm yeah that does complicate it a little bit, probably a 6950 XT instead
hmm 1k, should be fine
it's not white but sometimes it is what it is
670 eur https://www.pccomponentes.pt/xfx-speedster-merc-319-amd-radeon-rx-6950-xt-black-gaming-16gb-gddr6

sorry for the late reply
I was doing some cookie dough

I understand completely, cookies are definitely the priority there
I mean I can deffo remove the storage
and the cooler
and I'd be set ngl
maybe not the psu cuz rn I have a 750W
idk If it'd be able to handle it
need do smth for the casein protein
yeah, I can deffo see that happening
Fonte Modular Corsair RM 750 (2019) 80+ Gold
It can be done on 750W for sure though, just no room for overclocking
yeah it prolly wouldn't cut it
That is an A tier PSU at least. It'll work.
hmmmm... overclocking isn't really my thing, I like to keep things "cold"
In that case if you have power issues just undervolt the GPU
Cooler and less power with undervolting, no performance loss
I'll at least check the gpu out tomorow
talk with da bank
cuz everytime I buy something past 100 euros
they decide to block my card

unless I say that is me
buying x or y
You should be able to tell them before you make your big purchases so they don't block it
They can put the card on travel mode for the day or something
yeah idk what they do
I just know I was swipping in a mobile game in the start of the year
and they blue balled me

I second what fal said, rm 750 is a great psu
It'll be fine with a 6950xt
I oced a 6800xt on a 650w rmx without issue
The rmx can handle power spikes very well
Ik you said you won't be ocing, but with 6000 series for overclocking you normally undervolt core and oc vram, which won't really affect power draw unless you use MPT to let the gpu pull more
My 6800xt matched 3080 tis in timespy without changing the power draw, just undervolting core and overclocking vram
(I could have the two backwards it was a good while ago)
There's a channel specifically for that if you decide you want to
For me afterburner wouldn't work on the 6800xt
bios??
I had to use adrenalin, which is AMDs driver app and has an ocing section
No, bios is for ram and cpu ocing
It's as simple as moving two sliders and clicking a button to apply it
And in most cases it's pretty hard for it to be unstable on 6000 series from what I know, as long as you're not messing with mpt
It's RM so different platform, but same principle applies. It's still A tier.
Corsair just made such a good power supply even the cheaper version is A tier lol
Do you know which is better between rme and rmx?
No idea, RMe is too new afaik
surprising for corsair I mean what
Than rme?
RMe has absolutely horrible spec
It's mostly coolers, fans, and DDR4 that suck for corsair. Other stuff is fine/great.
it's A tier ~ but it is horrible put against RMx
I could understand it being better, but not way better. All of the rm line is so good it's hard for one to be much better lol
Go look a spec sheet then
Understandable when RMx is basically in a league of its own
Tier rating is how good protections are ~ not how good the PSU is
only the + signifies good
Comparable more to platinum A tier units
yes like ax1600i
what do you guys think about the ML360 ilusion or flux id remember
Isn't there a fourth rm_ unit?
No
idk much about water coolers
Never
MSI AIOs suck badly
Only aios to consider are lian li galahad, ls720, lt720, lt520, ls520, liquid freezer ii, thermalright frozen notte 240 and 360, basically anything EK
Probably a few others I'm forgetting
The d15 you have is comparable to most half way decent 240mm aios
RM1000x is 12.2mv ripple vs RMes 24.6mv
naah
yes it is
So imo not worth replacing, it won't really change anything on 7800x3d anyways
Here's the one that died #cpus-mobo-and-memory message
I gaurantee you it does
I have half of the cooler
Ah
I mean
forgot to check that when buying the parts
You're getting a new case, do you still have the other half?
The 50 eur cooler I put on there would be more reliable and you'll get identical CPU performance out of it
I'm assuming you mean you just took off one of the fans
yeah
Even if you didn't have the fan just throw another 120mm fan on there, doesn't half to be from noctua
There are plenty of great 80 euro cases
Lol noctua cooler prob cost more than the case
There's plenty of good 60 usd cases
it did
Yeah d15 is overpriced
100 x 80
Depends on when you bought tho
my pc is overpriced
$100 like 4 years ago for it was decent I think? I'm not quite sure, I knew nothing about pcs when it was popular
Oh god
paying overpriced things is my speciality
Just throw a 5800x3d in that mobo with updated bios and pass on new ram and mobo
I don't think I'd need to update the bios
To run the 5800X3D? Yes you do
I wanted a 7th gen for future proof
5800x3d more than fine with 6950xt for gaming
Future proof does not exist
You're better off just getting a 5800x3d and buying a new mobo and ram when you actually have to
It's an x570
X570 will need a bios update

Unless you bought it after 5800x3d was released, which I highly doubt you did if you have a 3900x
I hate that
Bios update is easy
I bought it when 5th gen was released
well
it was funny
Takes a few min, like 20 for the whole process
5800x3d specifically
And even then it's likely it'd need an update
All AMD boards likely need an update to run 5800X3D unless it was manufactured in the last 8 months or so
^
Ok I need to sleep I have actually wake up in the morning
Fals very smart listen to him
g'night bacca
hahahaha fosho
Night fal
Your options are spend more now for the option to spend a little bit less later, or spend less now and spend again in 3-4 years
well
that seems like an easy choice
in 3/4 years I'll be rich trust
ATX Kolink Horizon RGB this is my current case btw
just found it
Remember if you get an O11 that different models accept different size power supplies, some do ATX and some do SFX
Pcpartpicker will help with that
hmmm i didn't knew that ngl
So with this upgrade https://pt.pcpartpicker.com/list/RXVqLs
You can get any of these 3 white models https://pt.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/3Pn8TW,9rt9TW,4cPQzy/
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT
Lian Li O11D XL-W ATX Full Tower Case vs. Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower Case vs. Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower Case
hmmm, a white mbd wouldn't be better aswell?
also the one I have rn is the MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS
White motherboards are extremely hard to find and expensive
They'll almost all be mostly black with a splash of silver too
lmaaoooo
companies should do something that ltg said
ngl
after doing things like that
Companies have done full white motherboards, like NZXT. Too bad they suck.
I meant this https://pt.pcpartpicker.com/product/KnLFf7/nzxt-n7-b550-atx-am4-motherboard-n7-b55xt-w1
It looks great at a glance but the bios is godawful and not being updated any more
But yes I agree most NZXT cases suck
I only had this case
and every case I seen was on a screen
I hate going to tech stores
there's a lot of uninformed fellas trying to sell you things you don't need
Sounds a lot like best buy to me
They'll literally pay people to say "it's better because it's newer" even though it costs more for less power
nah here they toss a lot of fake knowledge
like actual fake knowlegde
some bro really said "yeah this one right here is better cuz it has a double npu, and so it's faster"
MY BROTHER IN CHRIST
Geek squad is a joke too. The techs in store aren't required to know more than how to turn it on and plug in a USB to run their automated tool.
DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT AN NPU IS? 3 SECONDS AGO YOU STUTERED WITH ME ASKING WHAT A CORE AND A THREAD WAS
istg, every tech I know that works in a store must have a script
don't worry im gonna apply for geek squad and raise the collective IQ of the staff by 200 points
Tbf scripts do save a lot of time speaking as the guy who wrote our company's script. A basic level 1 tech that can tell you how to turn it off and on again can save your better paid techs an hour easily.
I'm not very knowledgeable about hardware and stuff, I have my IT certification and that's about it, since I decided to go the software dev route instead
A+?
but daaamn, some guys in the stores get me furius
ITe from cisco
Ah ok
and lvl 4 eqf
That's a lot more than most people could do
yeah but I still know nothing about pcs in general
If you can set up a printer you can pass the A+ but Cisco doesn't mess around
And imagine, I only needed 8 for Microsoft to call me "expert"
(most of the tests overlapped with each other a lot too)
cisco is wild ngl, the college I might get into
should let me get a ccna for free
idk why, since Idc about networking in general
CCNA was easily the hardest one for me.
and to think some fellas decided to take ccnp and cAr

I almost didn't pass CCNA 3 and 4. I still have trouble getting routers and switches to trunk properly. Good thing my company doesn't use Cisco and that cert is useless. 💀

I never had troubles using packet tracer
when my teacher put me a single switch
in front of me
It took 5h just to connect to it
TBF
it was a broken switch
Was the teacher aware of this? lol
no, and doubled down on being my fault
till he said "if I try and it works 1st try I'm failing you" and I said to go ahead
he tryed for 1h
and couldn't make it
ofc, it's always one or the other. They know and are messing with you hoping you diagnose it properly, or everything is your fault and nothing you say is correct.
it was the reset port

I was working with a subbrand of cisco
smth lynx
I always found it amusing that the computer lab had an entirely separate internet connection from the rest of the campus at my college. They know what goes on in that computer security class. I brought a flash drive full of viruses to play with once.
LMAAAOOOOO
my 1st networking teacher taught us how to shutdown others pcs
we kept doing it when he tried to start exams

the lab we used for the switches didn't even had lan
I flooded the network before a test one day with a DDOS virus
we needed to do it for our project
Because we were discussing DDOS attacks right before
never done that
only shutting down our teacher pcs
Make a tutorial lol
or our friends pc mid work
It was a gigabit connection too, really high speed stuff for 2012. I had to remote into almost every PC in the empty classroom next door to set up the DDOS undetected.
I think it was shutdown -i

I don't remember
it was 4 years ago
damn, I'm old

That'll bring up the interactive shutdown dialog
yeah
Did u at least pass the class
last thing I remember doing with cmd other than installing arch and coding

was ssh connection
which I used linux

All of our classroom PCs had RPC enabled with the same credentials because they used the same network boot image (no persistent viruses that way) so it was easy to remote into your neighbor's PC and mess with them
Easily, the professor was rather impressed with me. I think I taught her a thing or two. And did a practical demonstration on why physical security is important when I picked open a cabinet and the camera closet.
my c++ teacher almost crying after me getting the best exam in the class
only thing I taught a teacher was not to doubt someone
bro thought I was going to fail the final project
She wanted to use another professor's copy of microsoft server because she lost hers, and the other professor wasn't available. So I intervened.
I’m going to take a c++ clsss next yr
ended up having the 2nd best, arguably the best project
C++ is too basic (pun intended)
I kinda wanted to learn zig
It’s one of the “starter” cs classes
and rust
At my school
Oh yeah there making me take a logic class then the c++ class
nowadays I don't remember nothing about any language
other than ts
since I'm proeficient
If you're considering military then make sure to take C#. Most departments in the various branches program in modified C#.
and it's hard to forget something you are proeficient at
but if you ask me to do smth in c or c++ I'll prolly do it
I don't want to talk about C#

the 2 projects I had to use it
...
made me want to commit die die
At least it wasn’t assembly
Objective C 💀
in college here
or better said
in computer engineering
software engineering
wtv you want to call it
Tbh I’ve never really seen anyone use assembly
Besides on YouTube
Samething kinda
Software or computer engineering
you need to learn: java, html/css/php/js/ts/react, assembly, c++, c# and I think c
I'm not sure about c tho
I know it's either you learn java or c, or you learn java and c
yeah, kind of the same thing, in portugal you really only have that option if you want to be a developer
it's so stupid in here
they call engineers to be IT support
and say it's fair
When I took java it was still in active development. God I'm old.
I only took c++ academically
Android apps were barely integrated into the class too. It was effectively optional to make a hello world android app.
OH YEAH
if you choose software dev in the branches
you learn kotlin for android apps
just like my c++ class...
This was back in 2012 remember. Smart phones have only been out for a little over 3 years, and android was still VERY much java based.
I still had my flip phone personally
the most we've done in that class was like a restaurant crm
that would save the menu to a file
and take the current menu from a file

I only started having a smarphone in 2017
iirc
I grew with cellphones
(I'm turning 19 in the end of the year)
My first was a galaxy s3, and it had been out for a while (bargain hunter here) so this was probably 2014 when I got it
Tough little thing isn't it
It's an absolute brick and also so tiny compared to modern stuff lol
at least it's not a note 7

or was it the s7, idr
i don't remember which one was the c4 phone
Oh with the battery balloon
YEAAAH
Yeah S7
funny times for smartphones
One of the notes had that too, maybe the note 2
No wait you were right, note 7 was a pocket mortar. So was the S7. Right on both counts.
7 was NOT Samsung's lucky number
They were still figuring out the whole rapid charge thing back in those days, it was really easy to damage the battery internally
wasn't it the start of fuly lithium batteries?
I remember my phone didn't had a lithium battery at the time
tbf it was 10 euros and wasn't even a smartphone

back in 2016
Good times, good times https://money.cnn.com/2016/11/21/technology/samsung-galaxy-s7/index.html
"trust me bro™️ it's fine"
LMAAAOOOOO
funny to see
how phones went from trying to be a "circular" shaped
or better said
curved
to have strong lines
Now they know when you charge the battery you slow down the charging at 60% full, and trickle charge at 80%
So you don't get spicy pillows
heard it is because the battery works as a condenser
how to power works
at least
but it was my teacher that also said that was proeficient in linux
and didn't even know distros other than debian based existed
There's a lot of physics involved. The simple explanation I know is it can only hold so many electrons, and if you try to cram more in too fast they get too excited and expand.
