Find the file in file explorer
Should be in downloads folder
The right click and choose extraxt
ayy I did it
cool
idk how to do driver stuff so
ty for help
before you go, should I of done anything in my bios? i just put windows on it and sped past it
spam spam spam yummy
Fried spam with fried eggs in-between 2 slices of buttered toast.
Lil bit of cheese and
so my PC isnt getting any internet, I have a wifi antenna and ethernet, nothing. I already installed chipset and intel ethernet contoller drivers
huh a restart fixed it
sometimes simplest solution slides under the radar lol
i had to restart a few times but eh whatevs
Does anyone know what wattage UPS I would need for a 3600 5700xt build? I have a 650w psu on it and I’ll have a router and tv connected to it
Ups is often listed in Volt-Ampere. 900va would be plenty. Higher than that would just help runtime a bit. I use a 1500va APC even though pc maxes at 500w.
Would 900va be enough time for the system to save stuff then turn оff during an outage?
I hope that I can find one at 900va or above tomorrow on prime day for under $100 USD
I don't know a lot about UPS's but I think so
5700xt + 3600 at full power draw is 300ish watts, this calculator is recommending 750VA for supplying 350watts for 2 minutes
https://tripplite.eaton.com/products/load-calculator
And realistically you probably won't have both components at full power anyways
after seeing my new build, my friend wants a build between $1200-$1400. I relied on the people here for my build, could someone whip me up a list in that price range who actually knows their stuff?
he doesn't really care if its amd, intel or nvidia
@frigid night @obsidian wigeon ^
i have him on vc let me start asking
yes
no doesnt have to be
yes
lemme know if you need anything else
between 1080-1440 if thats a thing
ok
fastest cpu for gaming
gpu is pretty good for 1440p if needed
can get 6950xt tho if ssd is bumped down to just 1tb
wait forget that list, lemme revise it a lil bit more
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
30 over budget for 6950xt
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
and this is within budget
If they're doing 1440p this is would do better, but is also a hefty chunk over $1400
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
Yeah I was checking how low xtx build would be, might be able to save some more with 12600k and b760 pro rs since they're on sale for $190 and $100
Yeah true
even with spikes the xtx will be ok
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
Down to $1440 with this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tR7wwc
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
in the future
Or go 13400f and remove the aftermarket cooler
hm that's doable but
do mind that 12600k is a big chunk slower compared to am5 stuff
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
would a 6900 fit
Yeah definitely
anything your case will fit lol
check length of gpu and case support
For 1440p though 13400f/12600k xtx would overall do better than 7800x3d 6950xt
i finally cleaned up my desk (even though nothing matches) let me send a pic hold on
1080p would definitely not recommend that
1080p I wouldn't even spend that much on a pc, but different story
Raahhh
Ur build is sick
ignore the smart tv ive been using as a monitor for the past 6 years lol
Lmao, it's all good man
I bought a whole desk and monitor just for this pc build lmao
that is my eventual plan
yes
I love how we both got our parts list made by fox, and we made our builds 24 hours apart
I can do shaders with it which was amazing
😭💀
gpu got hot tho
Oh lord
send me your list
Bet
i just did it on bedrock
Crust Corner Pc - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Ik how to do it on bedrock, but I wanna play Java now
Cause I never got to experience Java before
i might make the java switch
what was the total it said everything is bought
Oh, yeah, it was 1.3k
not bad
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
prices went up but it was under 1k when i got stuff
but taxes and shipping def increased it
Oh wow, amazing deal
i physically went to best buy and got the psu, which made it more memorable imo
LMAO, we almost have the same gpu
That's amazing
i def wanna go for a crazier gpu in the future
Same
I would sit next to the front window and wait for the mailman to deliver my package
How dumb would it be to plug a 3090 into my b450-e
Not at all
It doesn't do PCIE 4.0, is my main worry
ehh
the bandwidth limitation isn't that big of a deal
Wouldn't there be a markable performance loss
In fact at the time it came out the fastest 3090's were on pcie 3.0 systems
Nope
It's like, maybe 1%
What about the VRM
No relationship
Thanksies, just worried it might be a pain and I'd need to change the mobo out for like, getting the most out of it/getting it work proper
If anything change the psu
Assuming a good ryzen chip I'd want to run a 3090 with at least some good quality 750W
(gold/platinum is not a guarantee of good quality)
Which psu tho
Again platinum does not stop it from being an untethered firework in the wrong conditions
Platinum is a measure of efficiency, not quality
Quality are the OCP, OVP, OPP etc protections in place and configured properly
Ripple/transient control
Ground detection
Etc etc etc
Some gold PSUs don't ship with these basic measures in place
The kind of "wrong conditions" that a 3090 triggers quite frequently even
Nope, Gigabyte P750GM and P850GM. Gold rated.
Might as well be Azza from the fireworks though
I still have one of those packed away
I have one in active use
I mean... you're not wrong lol
Lololol
I did manage to pop 3 of them before I gave up and stuck it in a no-gpu system
how many did you buy
Thanks newegg shuffle for forcing me to buy it
I bought one, not really by choice it was bundled with a gigabyte GPU mid shortage, I got it replaced 3 times.
I would honestly consider a PGM to be like, it's power divided by half and c tier
💀
That thing so often is on sale and I always avoid it
Udgm is way better but I still have trauma
Nah they yeeted it straight down to F(ire) tier
That's new
Has been for a few months
f tier aka fire, literally
link?
The (dis)honorable mentions list, some great company it's keeping in that burning garbage pit.
Tom's hardware
He doesn't do tier lists afaik, I just hunt down his individual reviews and make a call
i like how f tier has brands with names surrounding fire or trouble
I do still use the rage list for ssd's tho, just cos it's simple
Too bad they're not maintaining it, but it is a good ref for controllers
oh god those aerocool psus are everywhere in "value focused" prebuilts in thailand
Ikr, but I like their layout more for context
i rather build my own rigs than gettin prebuilts in thailand
or just cope with oem
It's from that company with a boat as a logo. I'm out of town for a while so can't check precisely
Corsair
Which, can lend to a good chance of something decent, but the specific model would tell us if it's good or bad
All brands have good and bad flavours of products
yeah I prefer vanilla flavor power supplies
Corsair AX860
Should be fine with a 3090
Pretty old tho
But AX(i) have a good history
Wah heck
Yeah no, the PSU is solid so far
Now that I don't have the entire system on one side
Because when the store was building it, they put the entire system on one side of the psu
Which caused some weird crashes after I upgraded from a 3600 to a 5700x and from a 1660s to a 3060ti
5700x and 3060ti don't even draw that much
Yeah, which is why it was so weird to me
But apparently between having everything on one rail it didn't like it
And would crash under heavy GPU load
That's really weird
lol
That can happen yeah on multi rail
I didn't suspect that the store I had it assembled at would do that to get slightly better cable management
And getting the PSU out/in on the meshify c is alittle annoying
Multi-rail = multiple lower spec rails to make up the total wattage
Single rail = one rail makes up all
Multi-rails have separated plugs
Ya so if you stick 400W on one rail on an ax860, you will trip the psu
Yeah
So if you put the gpu on one rail
That's if it's multirail
And the rest of the system on another
It's fine
Also yes remember this, you may need to plug the pcie on the 3090 to two separate rails
oh yeah we live in the age where GPUs do that now
That's what I was concerned about, along with the VRMs and the mobo not likey liking it
Motherboard vrms?
Since the b450e is a budget board and I'm not exactly putting budget stuff in and ehhhh
Assuming gpu
B450e strix?
The strix should be able to handle a r7
Strix is not budget
Maybe a stock r9 even
Also if it wasn't already handling a 5700X you'd know by now
I know my old B450 Gaming Plus Max could handle a 3900X at stock
Well before we had this convo
3090 in it is irrelevant
Mobo doesn't care, esp when 3.0x16 is more than enough
So in general the 3090 should still be a considerable upgrade and provided I plug it in properly, it should be chooching fine
It's a zotac
Zotac
zotac is fine
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7cPKPX is this ok, first time building and looking at parts, not sure what im doing
Ahhh so close
Not bad for your first time actually
This is better:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fsbwwc
With the ssd from here:
https://www.westerndigital.com/products/internal-drives/wd-black-sn850x-nvme-ssd
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower

Most of your list is quite good but just a case of what's better value
Games will run a good 30%-ish faster on this one and you get a full white build
thx ill take a look
Guys are TT warranties honored? I’m thinking of buying. 850w psu for my 5600g nas server (ik it’s overkill but that’s the only fully modular one that’s $90ish USD and has 10yrs warranty) but im not sure if they keep their word with warranties. I’m thinking of buying the TT gf1, I think it’s a good psu
gf1 is an A tier, buy it.
they’ll definitely honor warranty cause the amount of people buying it.
Thx
whats the best graphics card i can put in this motherboard https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A320M/index.asp#Support
4090 or 7900xtx I think
granted you'll lose a little performance being on pcie 3 instead of 4 but iirc it's less than 5%
That's extreme overkill for a nas
Modular isn't worth the extra 25-30$
If you're looking for validity for your purchase tho ig an 850W will last you a long time, and a good purchase at that
What cpu
Yeah that's the real question. PCIe is 100% backwards compatible in theory so you can put a 4090 on a board from 2010.
The issue is the CPU would be a hard bottleneck on a board that old. Even a more modern CPU can barely keep up at 1440p a lot of the time.
Oh yeah no ryzen 5 looks like https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A320M/index.asp#CPU
Micro ATX; ASRock Super Alloy; Supports AMD Socket AM4 A-Series APUs (Bristol Ridge)* and Ryzen Series CPUs (Summit Ridge & Raven Ridge); Supports DDR4 3200+ (OC) (Ryzen CPU) / 2400 (A-series APU); 1 PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 PCIe 2.0 x1; 7.1 CH HD Audio (Realtek ALC887 Audio Codec), ELNA Audio Caps; 4 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA3); 6 USB 3.1 ...
Latest bios says it supports vermeer
Which is desktop zen 3, 5000 series
The QVL isn't always updated
ah
Hey sorry I haven’t been here in a while but since today is prime day I see a lt720 on sale for just about 100 dollars
Is it a good buy
ryzen 5 2600 (3.40GHz) 64 bit 6 core
if you are determined enough you can put a 4090 in a board from the 90s
in theory you might even be able to install drivers for it
you can run windows 10 on a pentium 3
so 1999
maybe going earlier is possible with linux, not sure
Yes definitely worth that, especially if you're on Intel. That's one of the very best coolers on Intel LGA1700.
with a ryzen 5 2600 i would say gtx 1070ti/rtx 2060/rtx 3050/rx 5700/rx 6600 is suitable, anything higher you'll probably want a cpu upgrade
this is also assuming you have at least 16gb dual channel ddr4-2933
i got 2 sticks of 8gb
if your mobo has resizable bar you could also look at the intel arc a750
a320 mobo should have it but I'm not 100% confident
i got a gtx 1650 4gb
at what speed?
idk
the gpus i listed are all about double the performance of your gtx 1650
those are about as much as your cpu can handle at 1080p
what would be one thats good for vr (above average game quality)
Task manager can tell you, on the performance tab, memory section
what do you mean by above average game quality
VR would probably need a CPU upgrade tbh
like wont lag
Probably gonna but it and give my z73. Away to a friend or sell it
like maybe 10 mods in blade in sorcery or something
yeah, probably need new cpu, frametime stability is important for vr
and ryzen 2000 is pretty bad at that
new cpu and new gpu
potentially new ram
can probably reuse the board
Get a 5800x3d easy fix
5600x3d might be a good buy if you live near a micro center
Too bad the 5600X3D probably won't work until they update bios again which isn't likely to happen on A320
depends on your budget for upgrade
my sibling wants to use his oculus as a desktop vr
just a 5600 would be a big upgrade over 2600
and he wanted to upgrade his graphics card
so are you going to tell us your budget
200$ in that range
cause if not then all we can say is 7800x3d 4090
$200 to upgrade from a 2600/1650?
I guess you can do a used 3600 for $70 and a used 1070ti for $130
it would be a lot better if you could save up an extra $40-50 to get a 5600 instead of a 3600
Still a good upgrade for 200
can u send me links to the parts in dms
you'll have to check used market
Look on facebook marketplace
forget about buying new parts with this budget, no company has released budget parts in a long time
for either cpu or gpu
every company decided that instead of making budget products just let the used market be the budget products
the last time a new budget gpu was released in this price range was 6 years ago in 2017 (gt 1030)
Best cpu for 3080
you've already asked this before
5800x3d 13600k 12600k
Best CPU is the 7800X3D
best gaming cpu is the 7800x3d
it also makes little sense to pair the 7800x3d with a 3080, but that is indeed the best gaming cpu
General questions get general answers
didn't even specify gaming so
the answer could be some epyc cpu I haven't heard of
Yeah gaming was simply implied. Best for them could be the 7950X3D for all we know.
the answer could be a pentium 3 if the use case is running windows 95 with a 3080 for some reason
lmao
might be cerebras wse2 lol
I actually saw an interesting video where a guy tested a 3080 in retro games
it got outperformed very slightly by period appropriate hardware
obviously there are no 3080 drivers for windows 95 lol
Probably had to disable fps limiters and depending on how retro, may have needed to run through pcem
he thinks he was just cpu bottlenecked
so the video methodology definitely wasn't perfect
but interesting concept
I think you should redo it with your 3080ti fal
has to be a native windows 95 install
95
On my recent gen system
what's the most powerful cpu that can run windows 95 natively anyways
can you actually run 95 natively on a recent cpu?
do you happen to know what the most powerful cpu might be?
Something less than 2.1GHz because of a bug that limits the frequency. Any higher and you get blue screens
@tawny fiber can we borrow your 4090 for... an experiment
would manually setting frequency in bios work?
Theoretically. But it'll still be missing old instruction sets necessary to run.
yeah but like a cpu with the old instruction sets that runs higher than 2.1ghz doesn't necessarily have to be ruled out
that's what I meant
cause we were hitting such frequencies by the early 2000s
so it's possible that such a cpu exists
interesting
apparently someone got it running on an i5-3570 with caveats
The question to ask first is what's the newest platform that has drivers for 95
Will a Ryzen 5 7600 bottleneck a 3080?
Nope
the main caveat being that you can only get those with PCI and PCI to AGP adapters are rare
Some scenarios yes, but overall nope
The follow up question is then what processor is best on that platform
I feel like you've been asking about 7600 and 3080 for days
My friend asked me to say that
here's a question for you
if you don't trust the answers you receive then why will asking again change anything?
What’s your budget if you have one
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=1153183#p1153183
interesting read, but too long for me to screenshot
He’s making me ask again he’s paying me 5$ to help him

I’m gonna be rich
Where’s @earnest olive $5 for helping you help him
true
Ez money
That is true, mushroom's bio does say they'll charge you for DM advice lol
That's brilliant. I'm copying this
no
😢😳😰
it drastically decreased the number of random easily googleable tech questions from people I've never seen before at 4am
it works
I 100% believe this and I am committing 1000%
speaking of ez money. my eth address is 0xe7b4e02e5ce1259ceda59111a7aa74c12c70c940
let me know when you've sent that $5
it's also an interesting conversation starter when my irl friends ask me about my bio
since I don't have full nitro so that's just my bio everywhere lol
Nothing to lose
my gpu is only worth 1 year of nitro
****current
lol
if I find a china exclusive gpu at huaqiangbei I might not be able to resist
boutta upgrade from 1660ti to 4090 enchantment heart princess
Can't remember what coin it was but i sent you like $2.50 for you to buy french fries and you never bought french fries
💀
think it was algo
I'd be quite impressed if you sent me algo when I don't have an algo wallet
it was like a super long time ago
all I have is eth and btc
Your GPU is only worth $36?
I pay $3 a month
If you find any galax hof card, you have to get it
safi uses it with 4090 ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I don't think I have enough RMB for that lmao
time to blow up my free chinese psu with a hof
There is some limitations here and there
If being cpu limited scares the hell out of someone get a 7800x3d
Also for a 3080 7600 is damn right overkill
my brother is thinking of getting an upgrade from his current set up
is this worth? or any recs? doesnt have to be prebuilt
No
Skytech is a terrible company with terrible quality control and is unreliable
That's also overpriced
yeah 16gb ddr4 3200 at this price
its on discount for 1464 so thought it was a good deal
i could build it
Alright one min
Does he care about looks?
And does he need any specific things, like does he need a good cpu for coding, or nvidia gpu for blender or anything along those lines
$1525, if that's too much then one sec I'll have a cheaper list in a moment
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mkcBfv
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
You can do 7800x3d and 6950xt, cpu is super overkill for gpu though, unless for whatever reason he plans to run 360hz 1080p https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JdnX9r
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
price should be fine
This saves a good bit of money and will offer very similar performance https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8XsMGL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
That works then, second best gpu for gaming and a great cpu to go with it
Less storage than the other two but can always add more down the line if needed
ty
Happy to help
Oh also
If you want it, can get a 1300w psu for $100, refurbished off of evga b stock
FLOPPAAAAA
But tbh I'd just go for the one in the list
id buy a 4080 instead, imo
7900xtx has awful power issues
by like magnitudes
ah you swapped it out
oka
my brother is concerned about the lack of an nvidea gpu
6950xt is probably the best option for bang for buck
Xtx offers 4080 performance, but if he really cares switch to the 4080
4080 is just a better card to buy until amd fixes their issues
They have
they have not
this graph is from a day ago
Also how come no one was saying this about high end 30 series lol
because 30 had spikes of high power, not consistent high power
only the 3090 was really crazy power draw
Mfw 3090 and 3090 ti
difference of 100w for the same perf
Difference of $120 for the same perf too
yeah that 120$ will be taken back via your power bill 💀
less heat in your room, less power draw, easier to cool, quieter, i'd say thats worth a premium
Idk what your power bill is like but it'd take about 5 years for that to pay itself back for me
i'd say the 4080 would be worth it over an xtx
Nyooooo
I would not, really just depends person to person.
They fixed the idle draw
^
ok so now fix the real power draw
220w in csgo
really
a 4080 gets unironically the same perf at 65w
Uv and profit
Xtx is also 300 less
899 vs 999
if it was that much cheaper yeah thats worth it
Is it really not 850 rn
Sadge
Yeah
its a good model for being cheap, its just up there in terms of price
6950xt is $560 or $570, I forget which
yeah i mean though, a 4080 doesnt need a good model to cool well cause of the efficiency
yes
by a long shot
buy a 6950 over anything right now brand new
if you can get somehting used for a good price sure go ahead
Oh btw kevin
id rather a 6950 for 100 more
now they can focus on load power draw
yaaay
luckily amd can change voltage limits via driver
which is great
adding csgo to that makes it worse
amd can change voltages via driver
Yes but down not up
yeah
And that doesn't reduce the PL
(they can do that too)
just absolute horror
Ye rdna 3 is not anything efficient
It's just cheaper on the onset and brute forces literally everything
4 times the power draw for less performance in game is really not good, imo
along for my general liking toward nvidia, amd's driver issues continue to push me away from wanting to own them
Idk my life has been decent with AMD but I'm also very new to the AMD side of things
from the older-ish cards ive owned, and the stuff ive heard/seen it justdoesnt seem persuasive unless the price difference is anything major
Do they have a usage % here
I don't mind bias from first hand experience
yes
Wtf 67
double the usage, quadruple the power draw
Ok no argument there that's just cracked
and i cant say in good faith that this is user error, optimum tech is a very smart person and knows what he's doing lol
If it's stable tho its at least not broken
yeah the fps is stable, same as the 4080, its just the power draw is hugely increased, especially in esports titles
Weird scaling
Especially when you look at N7 scaling
Rdna 3 doesn't really look like that on a raw chart
I've a 3060 ti, had a 6800xt for a bit, definitely did have some issues with the 6800xt but so has the 3060 ti
It's likely driver related in some capacity
But in my defence
I've had the xtx longer than the 6900xt and the 6900xt has had more errors
i havent had any issues with my 660, 760, 660ti, 645, 1080, and 2070s that were not my fault
especially for the last 3 in that list
The 6600 even more so
I've had issues mainly with geforce experience and with nvidias overlay/clipping software being buggy
None of the 3 are perfect but I'll definitely say rdna 3 issues are more of an underlying thing rather than something intrusive
i have a bias toward nv, but its somewhat reasonable seeing and experiencing a bunch of these issues with amd drivers
ugh
my 280x had a frick ton of issues, some of which being mechanical and others being driver related
I've had this on every card. I'm convinced GFE is just that bad tbh lol
Amd drivers were actually not any issues I ran into, it was mainly with overclocking and specifically on valorant
which is fine its an older card i excused that
but i also had issues spreading across generations of cards
Ya overclocking radeon is ass for anything not hard modded or synthetic
like polaris (and poalris 2)
But stock I have a good day
which is fine, 99% of people dont oc
Ya
EVC is the issue not hardware mod
With the 6800xt while playing valorant my game would randomly freeze and static would flash across the screen
XTX has no problem pulling power
Wouldn't happen in any other game, and fps was limited to 165
Evc is literally a hard mod
7900 series idle power draw issues, multi monitor issues, media consumption issues
were problems
meh
that did get fixed yes
but they should have been fixed before the cards launched to consumers
you can do EVC with no soldering or little soldering
No soldering I'd like pics
a brand new card that idles at 80w has no business being in hands of consumers
Nvidias had issues that were launched to consumers
yes, a lot, like the shenanigans with new world and poor reference designs
4060 had same idle draw issue
My 3080 idled over 200W on multi monitor
it was like 45w or something iirc
Early 12vphr issues, some major driver issues, I forget exactly what version but I remember 520 something being majorly buggy
And yeah definitely new world issue
All cards have idle issues when you push the graphics demand too high for idle state
my 2070s idles at 20w with 3 monitors at diff refresh rates
none of which are connected via igpu
Amd 6800xt and up ref designs weren't the best
Had a lot of hot spot and vram temp issues
amds cooler issue withall of the 6000 reference cards is a huge issue
really am not sure how you push a 3080 to 200W on idle
Ya but resolution matters and also vblank syncing
that amd refused to agree with at worst
My 6800xt was hitting 110c hot spot while my 3060 ti stayed around 75c
yeah 6000 series hot spot issues are issues
What resolution cause that still seems very very unrealistic
I accomplished the same thing on my 3090
Same environment
I definitely do not like either company, but if I had to pick a poison I'd choose amd I'd say 7 times out of 10
Depends on aib but some of them had bad mounting pressure
I think msi was one of them
Reference 6800xt
I don't remember the specific combo cos this was like 8 months ago
all cards have this issue, even watercooled
They used thermal pads instead of the paste
For the die
Yes
But it was something like 4k 144 + 1440p 60 + 4k 60 or something to that effect
Hasn't amd done that for a long time?
they used a graphite thermal pad which is comprable to thermal paste and not the issue
Since like 500 series?
6000 is when they started
Oh I'm very wrong lol
No iirc
(its very smart and i love that they did this cause youll have the same temps 20 years in the future)
They didn’t want to risk breaking the die bc of how big it was I think
So they used pads
Running high monitor demand just calls a lot of gpus out of idle state so easily
Esp on these cards deemed for 4k
Alright I'm too tired to keep up with everything I'm going to bed
I didn't sleep last night
4090 is the only 4K card I've used that idles properly at 4k
29-35W
The rest fluctuate or have weird connotations
@mossy venture can i change out the gpu in ur build for a 4070?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8XsMGL
6950 is better
I second what's said above
4070ti, 4080, and 4090 are kinda the only worthy nv cards to buy brand new today if you want NV
otherwise go used or 6950xt
@cyan ravine my favorite tool ever
I wouldnt run 4k on any of the three, but thats just me
with DLSS its not that bad to run 4k with them
Idk why this isn't in nvcp
Meh, id rather have 144 fps 1440p than 4k 80 fps
thats averaged at ultra with max settings no DLSS
Those are random numbers I pulled out of my behind
they're 115FPS 1440p cards
Jokes on you I idle at 200w on a 3060 ti
2x 1080p 60hz 1x 1080p 144
(I have a crypto mining virus and don't know about it)
💀
I actually have no clue what I idle at
different hz doesnt
I've 2x 1050p and 1 1440p
theyre all diff hertz i say 60 to make my brain happy
thats still equivalent to a 4k and 1080 monitor
No different hz doesn't but your idle state is convincing
One of the 1050ps is connected to my igpu though
Only one monitor out of sync
i cant use my igpu
The other two are basically igpu tier
Skill issue tbh
no i just dont want to buy another dp cable
Wow cheap
What's ur address I'll buy u one
Fair enough
Post it publicly here
ok
I only use the igpu for the opposite reason
💀

I have three dp cables and the two 1050p monitors don't have an hdmi port, and my gpu only has two dp ports
💀 my gpu has 3dp ports and 1 hdmi
What length do you want 0.5m or 0.25m
Theyre probably 10+ year old monitors when they first began manufacturing lol
AND TURING TYPE C IS META I LOVE TURING THANK YOU NVIDIA
i use type c on my board and gpu for hdmi out
thank you nv
YES WHY DON'T MORE GPUS HAVE TYPE C WTF
I had a 1080p 144hz as a side monitor but gave it to my partner when I built them a pc
it doesnt hurt people when its on cards nad its VERY useful when its used
PLEASE nvidia
Yes it is
These gpus are being used in nasa rockets
my cpu idle is
Also felix
not to be talked about
my cpu idle is about 45w
My cpu is hitting 96c in cinebench, you think I need a repaste/contact frame?
(Sarcasm)
youtube playing
Still under 100 so winning
thats before xtu undervolt to be fair
That was after 30 seconds I just shut it off so it didn't get too hot
True, I just didn't think a 13600k under a 280mm would need one
It was fine originally
youtube playing
It shouldn't
Didn't go over 80c in r23 multi core
spend 7$ on a frame you goob
The stock ilm warps around the 2 side pressure points
Either it's warped, paste needs to be redone, or pump is having issues
1st one
So you get an hourglass shape on the ihs
It's the effort to put it in that's annoying
Technichally speaking I could just not do it and be fine, I don't do multi core tasks and it stays under 60c in gaming
OR BUY 11TH GEN RAAAAAH RAAAH
But I probably should for peace of mind
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
I dont know where my mx-4 is I'll have to find it
or just set case on backpanel and ignore mounting solution entirely just rely on the 200g cpu block
avx 512 is a goated feature thank you intel 😍
"16gb is fine in 2023" also just watching a youtube video with normal background tasks
16gb is fine
debloat OS = ggez
i was testing tarkov like a week ago with 16gb and i only pulled as high as 14gb on interchange
I streamed warzone with Google and discord open as well and my gpu was what became the issue first with 16gb ram
7 firefox tabs, discord open etc
wasnt even with debloated OS either
r5 7600x better and cheaper than r5 7600 in ur build on userbench @mossy venture
7600x and 7600 perform within 2% of eachother, UBM is useless
And 7600 comes with a cooler, 7600x doesn't
Which is another $20
7600x also doesn't come with that cooler because it pulls so much more power
7600 more efficient
i pull over 20gb on streets
Streets is a piece of trash
need it for quests tho 😔
Suddenly my name is streets
i want 32 gigs ngl
The heck
havign some trouble getting into bios, my keyboard doesnt go on until after the bios option is over, and then im in windows, already tried recovery --> boot to bios and it takes me to windows, any ideas?
Are you plugged directly into the USB 2.0 ports on the board?
Damn you got Tarkov?
Guess I got to reinstall it then
no i used floppa's account to test it because i didn't believe him that it's impossible to play with 16gb ram
no
that's just the game and nothing else
very minor detail: 20480x11520 ultra
i was more shook by the vram consumption than the ram consumption lol
more realistic 1440p gameplay
still within 16gb ram but damn look at that 13gb vram at 1440p
Yeahhh
Should’ve sent it to me, smh
needed a hefty undervolt for daily
you're the discord kitten in this relationship not me
so when are you sending me a 4070ti aero
Hmmm, I need to think
maybe i'll be able to play tarkov with you
lol actually now i'm curious how my 1660ti would fare at 1440p...
probably not well
How’s my B-die coming along?
Still tinkering a lot with it but here’s where I am so far
Didn’t touch primaries yet
Can't get 1T stable? I'd take 1T over GDM off
I didn’t even realize that it’s set to 2T
I should be able to get it stable
Yeah 1T seems stable so far
nvm just BSODed
What should I loosten to get it stable?
Imma bring my voltage up to 1.525 and see how it goes
That's about the sweet spot on my adata kit. I'm running it daily with a little fan over the memory.
I don’t got a fan over this ram
Do you have a fan near it at least
changing resistances might help with running 1T GDM off
Ehh I got a spare P14 and some zip ties
Yeah I need to touch my resistances
What should I set?
try:
procodt 40 ohm
rttnom disabled
rttwr rzq/3
rttpark rzq/1
see if that gets you 1t gdm off stable
(if it works you owe me a 4070ti aero)
Oh and at ~1.5v it should be easy to do 14-14-14 or so, maybe lower on a couple timings.
iirc tRCDRD going down makes it more temperature sensitive
Either that or tRCDWR
if it doesn't work you can try setting rttpark to rzq/6 though that's more common with DR b-die and you have SR
can confirm, you can get b-die stable at 80c+ if you run loose tRCD
saw someone running b-die 4000 14-18-18 stable at 80C
Still a BSOD
damn, no 4070ti aero for me
maybe try 60 ohm clkdrvstr, can help with lower quality boards
If this works, you get my 2070
before or after the repair LOL
: )
It's X470 Taichi, should be decent

On the bright side, at least I’m posting
not every board/imc can run 1t gdm off stable at high frequencies
if you're getting 3800 on an x470 that's already not bad
Well sips, I think you’re getting my 2070
and isn't x470 taichi a t-top board?
It didn’t BSOD 5 seconds into y-cruncher
5 seconds let's go
Pretty sure so
which y-cruncher are you running? vst?
…ngl not sure
oh you did both
May or may not have changed both
try rttpark rzq/5
Stupid of me, ik
that's what i run on my b-die
you should do what i do and toss ddr3 heatsinks on your b-die
adds 500% more performance
Think I should try to get GDM off stable on my mixed set of 4 sticks? Probably not worth it but could be fun to try. Until I need to clear cmos again.
Waterblock it
i have 2 ddr3 heatsinks left, trade you them for the 2070
trade you some feetpics for them
actually not joking i do have 2 of them left cause i bought a kit of 4 and delidded all of them
the thermal pads are a bit ruined though
but they're nice heatsinks cause they have actual screws
i mounted my ddr3 heatsinks to my b-die without needing any adhesive
so it's easy to remove
is there a way to manually increase the rpm of my front intake fans in bios
They’re pretty tho
airflow is kinda eh rn
yes
just go to the fan control area
have you seen my b-die
how do i even get to bios isnt it like f12
Error after 79 seconds now
it's the prettiest b-die
We’re making progress
well 79 seconds is better than 52
delete
try going back to 24 ohm clkdrvstr
during startup correct?
just spam the key while restarting
mk
I can’t tell if I like the asrock or gigglebit bios better
also while im there how do i max my ram speed
for me it's definitely asrock
asrock is my favorite bios out of any manufacturer
no question about it
if you max your ram speed it is very unlikely that your system will boot
not max but like
set to rated?
I prefer the UI of the gigabyte one and the menus it offers but the Asrock one is so straightforward
just enable xmp
asrock is my favorite for a few reasons
- scans for bios updates anywhere, even on your OS drive
- settings persist through bios updates
- full rgb control from within bios, so you can get away with never installing any rgb software ever
BSOD immediately
you don't need a usb drive to update asrock bios, you can just leave it in your downloads folder lol
alright, try 120 ohm then
i dailied 120 ohm on my 5800x and b550 for a while, don't worry about it
This PC ain’t even going to get dailied
If it's asus they call it DOCP. New AMD would have EXPO.
My “daily” OS on here is Fork’s stripped windows ISO
Bold move
did you ever figure out why it wouldn't boot with a gpu besides the artifacting 2070 lol
I think it’s just the Quadro FX3800 being too old lol
hmm
Didn’t try any other gpu other than that one
Error after 27.6 seconds
what's rttpark at? rzq/5?
Yeah
atp try all of the clkdrvstr values and see if any of them help
I was thinking it could also be the PCie bus not being configured
…no clue
with csm disabled the oldest nvidia cards you can boot with are GTX 6xx or any 700 series and newer
if you have an up to date bios then csm is disabled by default
Sometimes a certain combination of bios, hardware, and vbios will just refuse to work in uefi mode on post
I have it enabled
