its not exactly about airflow. its carpet. you pc is going to turn into a vacuum and suck everything in that carpet out of it and into your case and all over your components. airflow is a factor but find something to get it up off the floor even if you have to use the box your case came in.

and if you think a regular household vacuum is good enough i can promise you it isn't. they're good at getting the dust and dirt out that you can see but bad at getting all the dust and dirt out. pull your carpet up one day and you'll see how nasty it is under them.
