I've seen it happen before

So just be sure to not try to mount it fan down and strip out screws trying to line it up

Some cases come with a hub you'll need to connect power to

Some cases will not meaning you have to plug them into your motherboard or get a hub

they will try to prevent scam to them just as you try to prevent it to you, so you need to find common ground.

you need to demand proof of the card working, like with some pictures in games (with overlay on), or 3dmark with the date and time of today

in my case i went to see the card working on his pc, but that one is risky. you need some friends to do that safely
