so asrock h610m-hdv
Celeron's and Pentium's aren't exactly much lower power
lol
Yeah probs
Compare the vrms tho, see if you can see one with a lot more for maybe $5?
yeah i think the gigabyte one might have more
u ok
Lol
You're having a fun time
STFU = shut the felix up
Anytime i say stfu to felix from now on

Hopefully that's not just a wifi m.2 spot though.
Pretty sure it's an m.2 2280 slot?
I was looking at another pic. Yea that b660 definitely has 2 m.2 slots.
Oh yeah I see a second one lol
I accidentally had a different board selected
the assrock one
any mitx or larger board not having an m.2 slot in 2022 should be illegal
m.2 is already an ancient standard by now
See thats the thing its mostly for gaming from mw2 to forza horizon as for resolution i have no idea lol like i said this is my vary first gaming pc
The cpu i was gonna use is the intel i3-12100 12th gen
Between 600-700
Looking for a new CPU fan, looking for something decent and enough for a possible i5 or i7 in the future but not overkill for now with my i3
Yea i live in the US
12100 is a great choice for a 600-700 budget
in the US
ryzen doesn't really have meaningful competition
Ad far as budget end stuff goes or just in general for price to performance ratio?
this doesn't really exist
Nothing around $30 that would be enough for a future i5 or i7?
"enough for a raptor lake i5" is basically a 240mm aio or nh-d15 class air cooler bare minimum
So next question should i go air cooled or water cooled
even 360mm aios are a bit weak for raptor lake i7
if you really want a cooler upgrade, grab an se-214-xt for the looks and prepare to upgrade again along with your cpu upgrade
Alright I'll check it out, I appreciate the help and advice
it's a $20 cooler with argb
it's also laughably overkill for the i3
but even the stock cooler does a great job on the i3
so pretty much anything you upgrade to will be overkill
upgrading for looks/noise is fine if he wants to spend the money
but
there's no such thing as a cooler that's enough for an upgrade that's not overkill on the i3
So this is my build list
-
[ ] Intel Core i3-12100F - Core i3 12th Gen Alder Lake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1700 58W Desktop Processor - BX8071512100F
-
[ ] MSI PRO B660M-A DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
-
[ ] Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model TLZRD416G3600HC18JDC01
-
[ ] ASRock Radeon RX 6600 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX6600 CLD 8G
-
[ ] DeepCool MATREXX 40 with Full-size Tempered Glass Side Panel, High Airflow Cooling, and Removable Drive Cage Micro ATX/Mini ITX Tower Case
-
[ ] CORSAIR RMx Series (2021) RM750x CP-9020199-NA 750 W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply
-
[ ] Team Group MP33 M.2 2280 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.3 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8FP6001T0C101
you don't want to know how much money i've wasted on making my pc look pretty rommy
psu is laughably overkill
also, use pcpartpicker instead of text wall
also that case looks pretty bad
i'm putting together a list rn
12100f is a superior gaming cpu
by a pretty wide margin
i'd just go the 12100f if it's for pure gaming
the upgrade path is also roughly equivalent
I would prefer no RGB around there, but I can still do that
What about this?
Cpu, case and psu are way out of balance on this list
what's wrong with the cpu?
I would've thought it was wired to be on all the time
Nothing except probably can afford better by fixing the other two
12100f + rx 6600 is a good pairing
Never said that
I would think so too, those were my initial plans
Spending a lot on the psu albeit a good practice doesn't make sense over a semi decent case and cpu if that's a possibility
Take for instance a 5600 non x and an msi b550m vc
Which would be better
For a similar price if things haven't shifted much the last few weeks
i'd rather push leftover budget towards gpu
12100f + 6600xt is fine
is it just me or are power supply prices looking pretty grim right now
š¤Ø
I alrady ordered the case
hey guys, my 7900xt is having issues with crashing on witcher 3 and spider man, any solutions to this? ive tried just about everything but i think it might be a faulty card or i need to wait for new drivers. thanks!
all the non fire hazard power supplies are pretty high price
cancel it
would rather do smthn like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rbkFnt
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
also yeah psu prices suck atm
i'm saying in the context of a $700 build
all the budget power supplies seem to have disappeared
cheapest b tier i see is the silverstone essential gold 550w for $70
i miss asus tuf 550 for $50
I think it's worth getting 2 more cores in a 700$ build
@earnest olive, stupid question but could I buy the CPU fan you suggested and keep the heat pipes thing but slap on a non-RGB 120mm fan?
i mean sure
but like
why
just turn off the rgb or don't even plug it in lol
i'd do this but change the psu to the essential gold 550
imo
uhhh what
didn't see that one, if it's higher than c tier i agree
Soooo, RGB stays on?
This makes a lot more sense for 12100f
i don't know what kind of se-214-xt you
Why should i cancel it?
Using a msi pro is overkill on that cpu
bad case
fractal design focus g is at a pretty nice price rn
Mattrexx isn't the greatest case
Also another question, I could probably Google this but what's the best way to clean off thermal paste and do you guys have a preference one thermal paste?
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower
I mean, a case is a case tho if you wanna min max
if you want to minmax budget just use ol reliable
cardboard box
cases are optional components
if you want a case at least get one that's not an oven
or just buy used
but hey, at least it looks better than an h510
Still curious if you guys have a suggestion foe thermal paste or if it even matters that much
I mean sure, but we could revisit that whole, H510 working with low power parts discussion again, lol
i just buy bulk mx-4
mx-4 pog
Alrighty
h510 costs infinite times as much as cardboard box case and performs worse

Yes
speaking of not having a case
my new test bench still needs a name
what am i naming her
H510
Is there any specific way to clean thermal paste off or can I just wipe it off a paper towel or something?
Doo Doo Fart 3D
isopropyl alcohol preferred
paper towel can work
Put that on the paper towel or a rag or what would be best?
paper towel
don't use anything to wipe thermal paste that you plan to reuse
getting thermal paste on your shirt is not fun
no
unless you're on ryzen then the cpu gets to decide
but you're on intel so no
So this shouldn't be too hard changing the CPU fan then
no
I overthought this
the only difficult part of pc building is when you get a defective part
troubleshooting is not fun
Yeah...
especially when you have no idea which part is defective and there's a chance for a defective part to kill a working part
Silicon Power SSD...
i've used a few silicon power ssds without issues
Anyways, do they sell just the heatsink itself or do they all come with the fan?
comes with fan
Hmmm, alright I just thought I could've just got the heatsink and got a 120mm fan of my choice
God damn I hate typing on mobile
i mean you can swap the fan if you want to
there's just not really a reason to do so
Yeah, I dunno
if you hate rgb so much leave it unplugged
Yeah, I don't hate it, just not preferred in that spot
I'm gonna get a $25 three pack of Phanteks DRGB fans to match my case
I like the purple lights and black case color scheme
nothing is stopping you from setting the cpu fan to purple
Seems dangerous depending on how you cut it
Sooo, SE-214-XT and a three pack of PH-F120SK's
Trying to think of any other small improvements I can do
Oh grab MX-4 too
how much is that 3 pack?
$25
you want them to be rgb or do you not care?
I like the mix of purple and blue
So yes I would prefer the case fans to have lighting and not the CPU cooler
I'm contemplating if I wanna grab a forth 120mm fan that's not lighted and replace the RGB fan on the SE-214-XT
Yeah, don't plug it in or cut it if I don't want it dangling
I just kinda wish there was some Arctic Liquid Freezer II B-stock in stock
I came across that, looks simple and I like that
Will I have to take out the motherboard to install the bracket or can I take the non-glass panel off the case and do it that way?
How much?
Hmmm, at that point I'd go brand new
If I were to mount it on the roof of a P300A, would I go with a 240mm or a 280mm?
Save up for a better cpu first, then consider an aio
Hell, even a contact frame would do wonders
^
(out of context but worth mentioning)
For the new CPU fan would anyone know?
I really don't wanna have to take the motherboard out
That's a relief š
Uhhh, no clue what that is
This is gonna be more complicated than I thought
One sec
NVM it's not what I thought it was
I feel like I'm putting myself through too much trouble for some upgrades that won't effect performance once so ever
Should I reconsider?
The case fans are at most what I need
I think I'm just impressed with what other people are able to do cosmetically with their PC's on a budget and mine just looks bland
Is an h610 too bad for an itx build with 12400?
i would try to go for b660 at least
Me too, but b660 itx are rather expensive, I can't find any good deal on amazon hmm
might have to buy on newegg and ship it through a parcel locker
My 2060 already arrived like two weeks ago and I'm testing it on a friend setup before the amazon warranty expires, but I still need to buy the mobo/cpu and the sfx psu

If anything, I guess I'll just get a normal build with a mid tower and just ship it when I travel
What's the difference between G360A and P400A and P500A
The names.
Omg
Bruh
It's only $7000
God my self control sucks. I almost wiped my bank by buying a video card for my next build
what card
Gigabyte Eagle 6650xt
Oh yeah I saw that video, the pc baaarely fit in that pelican case
Ikr haha
Hi! Very newbie here. My son and I just built a gaming PC, using a B550M Aorus Elite motherboard among other things. We were able to load Windows 11 but can't connect to the internet via wifi; it doesn't show any wifi connections available. Did we have to buy some kind of wifi card or something? If not, how do we connect? I have searched but haven't found any solutions online. TIA
which exact model is the motherboard?
gigabyte boards with wifi usually says AC or AX on their name
indicating to wifi standard
Yeah most motherboards unless wifi or ac or ax is in the name do not include a wifi/Bluetooth chip
In that case you'd ideally want an ax2000 wifi pcie card or something along those lines for a good experience another good option is poweline
Just a quick question, when you say you were able to load Windows 11 setup or you had the actual OS installed itself?
I have a board with wifi and I was unable to start the installation because it required a connection and I was unable to utilize my board's wifi without the drivers, I was able to get around this however so LMK if that's the case
If your board does have on board wifi you'll need to install the wifi drivers I belive to utilize it
There is vedio in youtube you get into your home screen without internet
U need to go to cmd
I did the same thing yesterday
Yeah I was able to get around it with command prompt
U need to do the same command multiple times
I got Windows 11 installed now I just thought it might be worth saying you'd need to install wifi drivers if your board has on board wifi
Or like what Pato said you could get a wifi card for PCIe
If you have motherboard with wifi
U don't need any extra cards
Go to the website of your motherboard
Make sure it's the exact one
And you can find lot of driver's over there
Well I know that I'm just saying for the dude asking above
Their system isn't letting them connect to the wifi and we don't know if their board has on board wifi
Ohhh
If it does it might just be the lack of drivers
Ohh
I built my pc couple of days back
And after that i changed some settings of fan in bios
And now it's staying
Pc case is not closed
Fatal error
What should i do now
What specific settings did you change?
Hmmmm, unsure someone else might have to help you
Nothing in the YouTube helping me
i5-8400, GTX950, 16 GB ram
which one of these could I upgrade to make the overall system better?
Gtx950
ty, any recommendations for smth better?
Budget?
^
6600xt or a 6650xt might be a good budget upgrade
If you're looking for best of the best 7900XTX or a 4090 RTX
$200, at what point would my cpu be the bottleneck?
hmmm, kinda limited at $200
At $350 you can do a 6650xt
Yeah ^
At 1080p your i5-8th gen is still pretty decent
got it ty :)
thereās a 6600xt for $289 on newegg
My younger brother ran a i5-9th gen at 1080p 60hz for a while
He also ran a 1050ti and 16gb ram
Iāll probably sell the 950 on ebay
Yeah, sell the 950 and get a 6600xt
A MSI 6600 should run around $209 on Amazon if you want the absolute minimum
^
Hi. Iām trying to decide between Intel 12th and 13th gen. How important is the āIntel Threat Detection Technologyā! Very curious about why 12 has it but not 13.
Not very.....
From my understanding it's antivirus built into the CPU bios....
I could be wrong
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-threat-detection-technology-tdt-gpu-offloading,36911.html
It just basically just accelerates antivirus from what I can tell
Just grab 13th gen when possible for performance gains
Iām a huge fan of good defense, and improved virus protection seems like a good thing.
It's just making your antivirus run faster from what I can tell
And the main useful part of it is available for 13th gen still.
"Intel processors from the 6th-gen (Skylake) and beyond will be able to perform Advanced Memory Scanning."
Iām only playing FIFA and opening links on Fark.com. Not certain if I really need 13th gen enough to give up better virus protection
It's not better virus protection
And it's most likely still included in 13th gen
It's just not noteworthy enough for them to put it on the spec page
Not according to they website
There are more than one way to skin a cat if you want hardware security
I like cats.
Me too
So donāt skin them
Focus on the performance tho
Maybe itās the fear unlucky number 13 thatās holding me back
Which 13th?
13th gen
i5 13600
Which isn't a bad buy at all rn
Iām referring to 13th floor superstition
Lol
Differences between 12th and 13th more boil down to higher clocks, more L2 cache and more e cores
The cache gain makes a big difference though
Itās all about the L2
The L2 is more powerful than superstition. Maybe if the cast Schwarzenegger as L2 and he defeats 13, than maybe I wouldnāt be so nervous
lol what
Anyway, yeah 13th gen is easily better
It's just a number, the cpu won't take your pc down or anything
Okay. Guess Iāll just have to deal with the bios updates
Shouldn't be a problem if the board has bios flashback
Z690?
okay that's good then
Only problem with pro-a is thereās no optical out for sound, and I need that
Would you recommend MAG Tomahawk or MPG Carbon?
All are good
Thank you. I will now comfortably embrace the 13600.
This should be in the top right of your screen
on web client at least
lmao my one unread is from droq š
I just installed more ram in my pc and it blue screens when I try and so really anything in a game.
Itās the same exact ram, just double the amount
Likely too much for the imc, disable xmp
Alright
Itās current just stuck on a black screen so I assume I should hold the power button to turn it off since pressing it normally isnāt working
Yeah

Thoughts on some small upgrades for my PC?
Mx4 and the deepcool fan hub I can vouch for are good
CPU cooler just get the AK400 and fans just get the P14's
Well the reason I chose the Phanteks fan pack is because I only need three and they have the purple and blue lighting preset that I love and I thought it'd match my case well
But I'll look into that CPU cooler, I'd just like a CPU cooler without any lights
Oh wait
AK400 doesn't have lights
Dope
Well P14's is a 5 pack for 40$ and are 140mm
Bit more pricey but I think the extra $15 will be worth it in the long term
Those you picked is 3 120mm for 34$
But they have lights
And as mentioned earlier in gen chat is if your fans would have any issues you'd have back ups
If you want lights you can always just buy something like this https://www.amazon.com/GIM-Compatible-Magnetic-Addressable-Gigabyte/dp/B0899P2SBD/
I'll think about it but I'm leaning more towards the Phanteks case fans, but I'll definitely do the CPU cooler you suggested
Well the thing is Igot some LED strip lights as a stocking stuffer and have no clue what to use them for š
How do those stick?
I'm not a bit fan of adhesive as far as electronics go
With the adhesive that would be on it
Hmmmmm
If my case didn't come with RGB fans already i would of used P12's and P14's with RGB light strips
I'll look into the P12's and P14's but I'd be paying for something I partly wouldn't use
Your system does 140mm for the front and top which i would just stick to the P14's
Also 140mm you can have the fans run slower and it would still cool good while being pretty quiet
This is all my fans in my system right now which everything is quite cool
Only the CPU cooler is running a little over 1000RPM
Also i have my own fan curve so the fans does go up when needed and when gaming they're still quiet
But didn't someone say they aren't PWM?

and mine are PWM that i am using
So that pack is $40 USD right?
yes
Hmmmm, I might throw in the extra $5 and make use of my LED strip lights I have no plans for
Am i supposed to be able to hear the liquid somewhat when it goes through my pump. Which im guessing is the part mounted to my cpu. Because it sounds kinda weird not bad weird but like i havent heard it until i cranked up my pump settings on fan controller.
Custom loop?
Nah
Its the galahad 360 and i had to set the pump speed to max to keep my cpu cool when i play some games
Hmmmm, I'm unsure but I'd do some research into some things that could wrong and try to compare it to what's happening to yours
mostly pre built more open to both
Thanks.
i heard that 1440 lowers fps idk much about pc stuff
After I upgrade my system's cpu/gpu and move back to china I will look into getting a better monitor.
wz2 is pretty demanding isn't it? like you can stress a 4090 with it
The higher the resolution the more horse power your gpu needs to run fast to put it simply.
not that you need a 4090 obviously
but it'll take whatever power you give it
well of course
gta v runs on a potato
but you gotta design the pc around the hardest game to run
here's an oc'ed 250W 3070 at 1080p in mw2 benchmark
I just realized, I can reuse my PX240 monitor as a 3rd one once I get back to china and order another monitor.
i'd imagine wz2 would demand a bit more out of cpu than mw2
the 4770k probably wouldn't hold up nearly as well lol
oaky
1440 i guess
what's your budget?
Do you want to use every dollar and max out the build's performance or would you rather keep it lower and sacrafice some perf.
I know.
yea
So, $2500 for a entire setup?
Should I get a 6800 for 400?
peripherals, monitor, and pc. Correct?
Used
monitor and pc perfer got evething else
Aight.
Let me see what I can whip up real quick. You wanted 1440p yes?
Any preferred size of screen?
13600K + 6900xt probably.
6900xt goes for like $700-$800 new average right now.
not really
like to connect to my wifi yea
Oh, any case preferences?
naw
i perfer air but im open to anything as long as it nice and good and can the most performance
Oh, black or white colors?
@gentle pollen whats the other pc case for
It's for my 13th gen upgrade once parts arrive.
oh nice
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8m6p99/msi-pro-z790-a-wifi-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z790-a-wifi z790 is like $270

ye
z690 tho is nice
š THERE'S A 4090 AT MSRP ON NEWEGG?!
Asus Tuf 4090 OC.
Is 400 for a used 6800 good
Is the XFX Speedster Merc 310 7900xt good?
Gotcha, cuz I found it at a decent price.
i was just showing for context and if person wants too buy one they can click link
and it looks a lot cleaner than the gigabyte one.
Hey i need a bit of help on #electronics if anyone can
I installed a new graphics card into my brothers computer and Iām getting a post when I turn it on, yet after the post I just get a black screen
Any help?
@viral plank how much storage do you want/need?
1tb
Imo I'd spend $10 more for 6000c36
Is 400 for a used 6800 a good price?
Yes
What should I do then?
Ohhh okay sorry
Thereās some black part of the pcie thatās showing on the gpu
But the yellow part is fully in the pcie slot
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower
@viral plank here ya go.
Monitor + pc.
Got you
I figured for future proofing.
Usually can reuse the lf2.
So if he upgrades in a year or two, that's covered.
Oh, did you send your list?
lemme try and change a couple things real quick.
Hereās the pcie
Ah ok
I need to go, but it seems you have the parts figured out.
My 13600k sits under 55c with a 280mm in gaming
Have a good day peeps.
so witch one is good
Why does Discord keep suggesting that I gift someone a year of Nitro?!
Something like thishttps://pcpartpicker.com/list/ymqYC6
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Have a good night
What is a good psu 750w or 850
can u send me both of list in my dms from jesundo and apez
@elfin flame I tried reseating it and itās the same problem
@mossy venture https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nMPQzy/xfx-rx-79tmbabf9-radeon-rx-7900-xt-20-gb-video-card-rx-79tmbabf9
Missed that
D.f atm
$7 more than the cheapest good quality 750
enermax revolution df that is
enrmax revolution df still lol
just for more money
Is there a different one on Amazon that is about as good as it
Maybe phanteks amp
Nope
This is a mid price for a 650, but it'll do the job for a 6800 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/n34BD3/enermax-revolution-df-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-erf650awt
There's a tier list pinned in #cases-psu-and-cooling
What model?
Segotep
Gp?
Thatās why Iām upgrading
That could be b tier
Which if it is, it should be good enough for a 6800
I forget how to tell which is which though, pato might know
Oh ok that should be good
Itās fully modular
But one is good, other two are mediocre
Not the one I'm thinking of then
Give me a minute

Whats the 80+ rating on it?
Gold
Or if it has letters on the side, what are they
are p12s still good fans
Yes
Alr, I'm eating ill figure out what it is in a bit
@south cliff move that cable and take the pic again lol
Why?
Revolution df is great
Amazon gift card
Ik but filtering by Amazon only it's still the best options
All the a tiers are 125 like revo df
I mean sure if it's a known seller and not some random from china
If from enermax
Could go rm750x for $100 on Amazon. Still 100w over what you have.
Well I only have like 108 dollars
Link
No I literally only have 108
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-RM750x-Fully-Modular-Supply/dp/B08R5W27JS this is solidly A tier btw. š

RM750x PSUs use only Japanese 105°C capacitors, for long life and reliability backed by a ten-year warranty. A 135mm magnetic...
Which is better Corsair or the enermax
They're both very good, just 750w vs 850w
you can just buy a mesh front panel
Can someone help me I wanna upgrade my pc but I donāt know where to start
Well I found a rm850 refurbished from Newegg so ima get it itās like 10 dollars less
And itās white
okay i will
couldnāt get the pcpp link but I have
Core i7 8700k
16Gb DDR4 3600
500GB SSD
EVGA GTX 1070 8Gb
Asus z390-a prime
My budget is like maybe 500$
i was looking to get a 2070 super for a good deal but I wanna get someoneās recommendation
i donāt know some of the parts cause I baught the pc on facebook market place
And yes
If you open up the pc you'll be able to read what psu it is
im on vacation right now
I could probably contact the seller and tell me all the parts he used
Knowing what psu will have a heavy weight on the suggestions
i asked hi@
him
The description only said what I said
about the parts
He said he donāt know but itās around 600-650w range
Huh, a GPU upgrade should be fine
A used 3060ti goes for $300-$350 on eBay, worth over a 2070s
Iāll see if I can get a good deal on one
if it will give me better performance yes
Uhh, 3070 isn't far above 340ish also.
I play a lot of AAA games and story games
Yes
i can run games on hight quality and still get over 100 fps on some games
Thanks guys
I suppose eventually perhaps get promoted. Example gpu is a a 3070 at $310 incl shipping w/ 30 hrs left. 60 ti can definitely be had around $300ish though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115653008072?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uyPRBFwBSIe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IwXXitUXTSW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
6700/6750XT is good too in that range
Used even better
Reference

I am the zero point

Femilia
Possibly try for bidding under $300 @ last minute
Looks fine to me
Being b.i.n. is cool. Both not too shabby. Another day until I see if I get a 3070 for $343.

We're excused
He's Australian makes sense
Oh yeah I forgot I had Australian mode on
Rombat
rAciSsT!!!!!
(i approve)
anyone available to help
Sure. What's your issue?
so i built this pc with my son and it turns on but nothing comes up on the screen?
Choose Your Parts
Are there any lights on the motherboard that are lit?
yes
You should also make sure you're plugging the video cable into the gpu and not the motherboard, and you're on the right input on the monitor
Which light is lit?
Any of these lit?
Ok, it's failing to initialize then. That could be a couple different things but most likely is the bios needs to be updated.
You put the wrong link so I can't see what board and cpu you have
CPU
Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor
Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard
ASRock Z690 Pro RS ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
ASRock Z690 Pro RS ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
and how do I do that?
Download that file, copy the ROM file out of the zip and onto a flash drive
Rename the file to creative.rom
Plug the drive into this port
Then hold the flashback button about 3 seconds, a light will flash
When it stops, it's done
i plugged it in there and held the button but no light
It was off when you held it right? I forgot to mention that
no so shut the pc off
ok now i see a flashing light
Good. It can take a little while, go grab a drink or something. 10-15 minutes is fairly common but I've seen it done in 5.
you can turn it on now
should i take the flash drive out first?
It shouldn't matter
still nothing
Is it still the same dram light on?
It's 13th gen on Z690 so it definitely needed to be updated at least
no, now the BOOT and VGA lights are on
no, now the BOOT and VGA lights are on
Is windows actually installed though. If not, that's the boot led basically. As for vga light, hdmi cable into gpu?
Ok so for the vga light, you've got the gpu power plugged in tightly and the video cable on the gpu right?
Boot light just means it's looking for something to boot from and didn't find anything valid, normal at this stage
ok now there is a picture. No Windows is not installed yet
Everything is working right then
called it.
Apart from gpu
Perfect, now you'll pop in your Windows install drive
Gotta verify if it's correctly installed and is receiving power
i restarted it again and now the something came on the screen
it still has the BOOT and VGA lights on though
okay then that's working
Boot light is still normal since there's no OS
time to install os
wait
i know why the vga light is on
the monitor cable is connected to motherboard
instead of the back of gpu
no its is plugged into the video card
ah
if it displayed something then it's working
it was in the motherboard at first as you can see in the picture i sent but i moved it
when i restarted it i moved it first
I also said try hdmi, not DP like the cable you used in the pic. Shutdown, do hdmi cable to gpu, turn back on & should be good.
HDMI is usually the default for troubleshooting yes
i didnt see that before
But we've got picture now so moving right along
Do you have a USB ready to install windows?
F1
i take it it need a hardwired keyboard?
You'll want your memory to be in slots 2 and 4
and right now they are in
I'll also suggest leaving xmp disabled until after windows is installed. XMP if not stable can otherwise possibly* mess w/ the installation. Might be rare, but idk.
It's disabled by default
While you have it shut down you should swap the stick in slot 1 to slot 4
Yeah, you'd pick profile 1 to enable it
Ok, powering down now
Ok, i moved the memory do i need to put the flash drive in with Windows 11?
Yes, and it should load that automatically when you turn it on again
Ok, anything else before I turn it back on?
Ok here we go
š
Which do you recomend?
Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings and applications
or
Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
up to you, but i prefer steam
ok
A message popped up and it asked to update drivers. I said yes and it did so and then restarted. Now it says "Installation has been successfully completed! For further drivers and utilities, please enter BIOS Setup Manual to enable Auto driver installer function" How do I do this?
I'd ignore that, better to get the drivers yourself instead of using utilities like that
Ok, how do I know when to do that and where to get them?
This should be the only one you need https://download.asrock.com/Drivers/Intel/Others/ME(v16.1.25.1917_CONS).zip
Here is an example spot https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z690 Pro RS/index.asp#Download
and red box is the most of what I'd even think about. Probably don't need the Realtek audio driver considering it's date.
Thank You all so much
Win10/11 has a lot of stuff builtin. Main thing is now go to AMD/nvidia and get display drivers.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
how much do you guys think i could sell this for??
it works pretty well and the same as when i got it just under normal gaming use
and would it be smarter to sell as individual parts or as like a "prebuilt"
Breaking it down,
CPU - $85
Mobo - $60
RAM - $40
Cooler - $30
Storage - $60
GPU - $170
PSU - $60
Case - $60
Total - $565
You could list it for $650 and let people haggle it down to around that price, you might get $600 for it if you're lucky
It'll probably be easier to sell it as a complete PC. Shipping might get expensive, and I'd recommend using the original box for the case and instapak to keep things from shaking around too much.
alright and is the best place to sell it like ebay or what would you recommend?
For something like that I'd sell local to save the shipping costs and risks. It's also safer to deal that way, less risk of scammers. So you'd be looking at Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, things like that.
alright thanks a ton
Ebay seller fees are 15% give or take anyways.
When there's no promotions going on yeah
Hey, im a bit new here but is this where I can ask for a recommendation for pc parts?
ooo nice
I have a question, so I have the i5 13600k and was wondering if there are any good recommendations for motherboards
I am currently looking at the Aorus z690 ultra atx
Is that good or is there something better that I could get?
Seems pretty decent overall. RAM is also a question. Do make sure you get a mobo that takes your choice of ram (ddr 4 vs 5) - edit: quick example of a Z790 option as well https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8m6p99/msi-pro-z790-a-wifi-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z790-a-wifi
---edit: here's what $172 would get ya https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LWPQzy/msi-pro-z690-a-wifi-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z690-a-wifi-ddr4
Right, I am okay with upgrading to a ddr5 ram
Heyoo I'm kind of stuck and not sure what to upgrade on my pc I've been getting cpu bottlenecking when streaming on obs and playing mw2 my first thought was to upgrade the CPU and add more ram since it might not be able to keep up with the 3060 ti but idk if thats the problem
I'm just wondering if there is a better motherboard that I could get
heres my current specs
CPU
Intel Core i5-11400F 6-Core 2.6 GHz
Cooler
DEEPCOOL GAMMAX GTE V2
Motherboard
Gigabyte B560 DS3H-AC
GPU
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
RAM
Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z 16GB 3200 MHz
Storage
2x WD Blue SN550 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD
Case
NZXT H510
Power Supply
EVGA 500W Bronze
Hey everyone, not really a build question but does anyone know a good light weight laptop thatās under 1000 buck? Preferably 3060 graphics or a little worse
Yea MW2 is kinda cpu heavy. Some might say switch up to a 11700 for 2 more cores, but idk. 12th gen is great but would be around $270ish (before factoring money from selling the 11th gen combo). "tray" 12400 is $159 on Ebay, 12400F is $160ish on NE/amazon. Possible mobo could be this for $130: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dsFbt6/msi-mag-b660m-bazooka-ddr4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-mag-b660m-bazooka-ddr4
I'm considering this don't know if my choices are any good tho lol:
- ASRock Z690 EXTREME WiFi 6E LGA 1700 Intel Z690 SATA 6Gb/s DDR4 ATX Intel Motherboard $196.99
- CORSAIR RMx Series (2021) RM750x CP-9020199-NA 750 W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply $99.99
- Intel Core i7-12700K - Core i7 12th Gen Alder Lake 12-Core (8P+4E) 3.6 GHz LGA 1700 125W Intel UHD Graphics 770 Desktop Processor - BX8071512700K $323.88
- G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C18D-32GTZR $109.99
Total: $731.84
Someone else might give extra options, but not too shabby. Great psu choice. selling old cpu+mobo+ram maybe fetch $200 or so. Ah, got a microcenter around by chance? They've been having some crazy combos like $300 for 12700K+mobo.
sadly I dont š I'm on the verge of driving hours to go to one though lmao
ok bet ill look for that one
this one? ENERMAX Revolution D.F. 850W 80 Plus Gold 850W, Full Modular, Multi Rail, 7 Year Warranty, Power Supply, ERF850EWT
I had changed it to the 13700k forgot to edit the msg tho lol
also is 64gb of ram worth 100$ more? bc 32gb of 3600 ddr4 ram is $104 but 64gb of 3600 is $209
or do yall have any recs for cheaper ram
why the i5 not i7 tho?
within 2-3% on (most) games.
I game and stream at the same time plus some graphic design and video editing
my issue with my i5 11400F is that it bottlenecks a lot with my 3060ti for some reason
even though I use nvenc on obs
and tried streaming at 720p still same thing
Note this is 1080p and a 3080, but shows you how far even 12th gen ahead of 11400. 13600K generally beats 12900K. 13700K would be getting into diminishing returns quite a bit, plus what rommy said.
Yeah but I think I might still go with the 13700K to be safe I kind of regret going for an i5 when I got the 11400F so ill go the safe route just in case lmao
Thanks for yalls help tho!
13600K has more power in every way over a 12700K
Don't get caught on naming conventions, the 13600K has almost as much processing power as a high end Ryzen
Almost double the power of an i9 three* years ago lol
Or should I say 4? It's almost 1st January now lmao
Should mention it has 14 cores, 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency a little bit more then the old 11400
The terms i5, i7 and i9 have lost a lot of meaning in the last year or so
It's not really a lateral definition anymore
Not with the way Intel's going with it
btw the i5 does actually trade blows w/ the i7. The Ecores will handle background tasks and such anyways. Save the $100 for a future gpu upgrade or something
1440p:
But even in like, rendering, the 13600K has more(??) cores than last year's i7
Like 12 vs 14
Yeah it does just only the perf cores have hyperthreading? I think
All around a value god among cpus
I was considering this years i7 tho
the 13700k
instead of the 13600k
Here's a decent graph. btw, 13600K is about 10% higher wattage than 12700K. If there was a decent price gap, I for one would happily take 12th gen. TPU review is pretty good https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i5-13600k/22.html (oh, 13th gen does OC well though). I'm just itching for it to dip under $300.
It's just adding more e cores for a slight multi-core bump
In all honesty the 13600K isn't a slouch
The parity between the two is significantly close
i5 tuned right will get you the i9 gaming perf just about
true idk im gonna sleep on it and decide tmro tbh
no 2023 for Felix I guess

Happy to be of assistance

Tbf you do get 8p on 13700 but not worth for most

Ok thanks
Iām new to this kind of stuff but I found this in a store they build it and I ship it to me & I wanted to make sure if itās a good value
Yes
How do I know if it can support 4k or not ?
Thereās a lot of good feedback
What about 3070ti
Thanks šš»
Any suggestions for a monitor ?
Around 400-500
No in Saudi Arabia
Yes I did
Ok thank you for helping me out ā¤ļø
Do you know if this monitor is available elswhere for the same price online or in store for you?
If you can, check on your Amazon or other online retailers for Saudi Arabia for 1440p options as well.
Some monitors to look out for would be HP X27Q, Gigabyte M27Q or G27Q, LG Ultragear 27GL83A, and the ASUS Tuf Gaming VG27AQ if under or around 2000 SAR. If you find other options, though, then send model names and I or someone else can find reviews for them.
4K options seem to be pushing beyond the budget for the most part.
Thanks a lot I will check on them
Im here

If you can go for something overkill you can get the 970-980 evo plus models, both are well quality
One of the best in the market
Thanks so much
No problem man
Yes
Its secondhand
I dont have it secured but it still on sale
Okay
3k TL
Sorry for late reply @elfin flame
I had to help my mom carry something
A lt720 is the same price as a x53 in my country so
Its real good
You don't need Z690 for a non-K SKU Intel CPU. Overkill for 12400/f.
LT520 is 240mm, but it's more than enough to take care of a 12400/f. Not a hard chip to cool whatsoever.
Don't buy NZXT H510, Phanteks P300a is a good case.
Kingston NV1 1TB as your boot drive. 2TB as your 2nd game drive.
Thanks bro
Will I need any extra cables/fans?
How many fan slots does the p300a have btw
Yes
And lt520 has 2
So ill get 2 fans
This will work
The case doesnt look good
It doesnt really look cool
Can you find something that looks more like the one i likwd
5k
Tl was the case
Cuz of the high newegg shipping
The case is 2.5k and the other 2.5k is newegg shipping
Both
+good airflow
No the temps aint a must
But it looks just like how i want it
