That's a sign of a short
Was it on when the incident happened?
Well when she did it there wasn’t anything in the pc until I turned it on and nothing happened and I looked a the gpu
So I kinda did it to myself
Oof yeah that may have killed the core or memory depending on where the short was
She did it like 2 times before but it was very little and didnt get anywhere
Im going to check
That cat is trying to kill you by starting a fire
how do I fix the random deadpixel boxes that randomly appear on the screen?
!ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
So im trying to download league and this pooped up. What is it?
Probably this
ah alright ill try that
Older games need older versions of that framework. It's a windows feature, go ahead and install.
It's a window telling you that the game needs .NET Framework 3.5 to run. Go ahead and download and install.
Thank you
Well this new pc is a freaking BEAST! Im able to download multiple bigger games and its not even breaking a sweat! lol
Yeah I def need the ddu, this is what happened after I booted into safe mode lol
Looks normal?
That's normal. Safe mode loads as basic of drivers it can.
everything zoomed in like crazy
Yes that's normal
ohh
Keep going with ddu
Do I just do clean and restart?
Alright
Then clean and restart
ye and the nvidia
Ye
Those dead pixel boxes that were on my screen make my skin itch I hate seeing them 😭
So now I reinstall the GeForce experience thing and allat?
alright bet, thanks
Why do they all come in sets of 3? I only need 1
What should i download to use to monitor everything's temps?
And to control my gpu fans if i need to
@potent portal
At least that's before the power delivery so it's repairable assuming everything did its job. But probably not repairable by you, or even me for that matter.
Argus Monitor is pretty nice, there's a trial and I ended up buying a couple of licenses for ~$15
Does both temp monitoring and fan control
This popped up when i tried to open, OpenRGB.
So what do you think I should do
Could I get someone to like re solder it or smt
Honestly pretty good results for Cyberpunk at the settings i was running
could someone recommend me a good motherboard please I have i7 13th gen and 4080
Gulp
More info, run anyway
It's more than just a resolder, you have to test each power stage for damage individually as well as the core and memory by probing the right spots with a multimeter, then once you've isolated the short you need to determine if it needs to be replaced or bypassed, and then you would have to solder it by heating the whole board to 120C on a hot plate, then using a heat gun and soldering iron to remove and then replace or bypass damaged components.
The risk of further damage is very high for someone that's never done it before.
Buildzoid (actually hardcore overclocking on YouTube) does quite a few different repairs like this if you want to see the process.
So its safe?
Just making sure lol
Golly I didn’t know that much had to be done do you think I should try and get it iced or just get a new card
Trust me I’m not doing it
Considering it's only a $400 card you're better off getting a new one
I bent my pins what do I do
Well I could get it fixed would it’s life span go down
Would a 4080 be fine on a 750w PSU? Or is that too little if paired with a 5900x
I would get 850 at minimum just because o nvidia sometimes random power spikes
It’s an HX750 so it’s a pretty solid A tier psu
I think its been recommended at least an a tier 850w
750W can be fine if the cpu isn't hungry
Not really, the spikes are very controlled this gen. 4090 only peaked at 500w, and the spikes are very flat and controlled
4080 should consume less
Floppa Rig (Updated) - Intel Core i7-11700K, GeForce GTX 1080, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
zwopar build
Out of curiosity, what would you guys choose if you had a budget of $2,000 USD to build a high end gaming server to run at home?
Game servers typically don't need a GPU at all so I'd go for a threadripper and 128gb ram
Could a 140mm fan fit here without it being cramped because of the vertical gpu?
Yeah totally. You've got the sliding rail and everything for adjusting where it goes.
Alright ill probably be getting this unless you say otherwise https://www.newegg.com/lian-li-uf-sl120-3w-case-fan/p/1YF-005G-000B2
Also how do you use this? When i adjust the colors for my gpu they actually dont adjust on the gpu
asus b660 proart creator d4
asus prime b660 plus d4
which one is better ?
Pray you can fix it.
Btw does b660 mobos support 13th gen cpus ?
But you can bios update with 12th gen cpu right ?
yep
Too bad even the lowest end Celeron is $70 used unless you ship from China, then it's $55
$100 mobo 3 weeks ago, hehe. Yea cheap used 12th gen isn't a thing even though G6900 is $42 msrp. After 3770 think I'll be plenty happy w/ 12400(T) for a while though, then eventually do 12700K/13600K. (Got old pcs or roommate's pc to upgrade also). My current overkill purchase:
Trying to figure out what would be the best G skill trident rgb 32(16x2) ram for MSI Z490 A pro motherboard
That looks like ballistonks
That board supports everything from a 10100 to a 11900k, all with varying speeds recommended. Which one are you pairing? And how much are you willing to spend on it?
It’s a Christmas gift for my son for his gaming rig so I’m just trying to get the best that G Skill has to offer. He wants the rgb feature that the trident comes with. Sorry I’m a little computer illiterate
He has an i9 processor
Ok well the "best" kit matching those broad specifications is over $500
This one is still great for a little less money https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820374187
If you were going more budget oriented that would be fine too
The average person won't notice, plus that will be gear 2 which can actually perform worse in games
Also jeez trident z are overpriced
Yes they are lol
Other brands can hit $80 for a similar kit to that one bacca posted
Yea I vote the $110ish Tridents at most. Yep Pato...
(recent usual is $130 so couldn't resist when I saw $90), Ebay prices a bit wack unless we had to have a 4dimm setup for looks.
65$ for 3200 vs 105$ for trident z 3200 💀
Almost double
Okay well no rgb but still
In order to make proper use of a better kit like I linked it does require a bit of extra effort
Overclonk them
I don't see crucial ballistics kit around anymore. Are they discontinued?
Yes

that happened quite a while ago
Sad looks like they're 16gb rev e instead of rev b tho :(
Like over 6 months ago
Yep any leftover new stock worth getting is picked over by now
shortly after d5 was announced iirc
Yeah it's been quiet awhile I moved on to ddr5
Crucial ddr5 is a joke it's quite sad
I had one of them lol . I was like where is the ram ? Is that ssd ? Lol
There was only 3 small chips at corner and nothing else lol
Yea rev b is the 3600 stuff but then a chance of SR and/or mexico made. I was either gonna do SR 4 dimms of 3000c15(more common), or this. For 2 dimms afaik Dual Rank is "better". https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gCCFf7/crucial-ballistix-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-bl2k16g32c16u4b
The 8Gb 3600cl16 sticks are rev E right?
Technically speaking yes DR is better for most tasks
Either that or I got the rev B in them is insanely good at overclocking
8gb stick?
Yes usually, that's why that was the go-to set of specs
Not necessarily some 3200 16gb sticks ones are rev b too
Both sets hit 3866 with cas14 with the rest of the timings stock or loose with ease
On a 5900x
16gb sticks
it was first ddr5 kit lol I preordered it for 12900k
Early adopters be like
8gb rev b sucks but 16gb rev b very good and vice versa for rev e lol except 16gb rev is still decent afaik
I think it’s safe to assume getting to 3866mhz with a cas latency of 14 is revE?
If it's 8gb sticks yea if it's 16gb sticks it's rev b
Well if by "decent" you mean it can beat DDR4 at a small price premium yes. We're still not even seeing the max jedec speed.
Yeah 8Gb sticks
What's the max jedec?
Bought 2 2x8 kits a while ago and I’m pretty sure they’re up there silicon lottery wise
Rev e so
My Ebay 3600 was SR so I sold it. Rev E usually has so much headroom though. Should be fun to mess around, this weekend.
7600 last I checked
I mean ddr5 kits are for alright price now
There's no big reason to build ddr4 anymore

Outside of US…
Amd killed ddr4 completely anyway so intel probably will follow next year
Yeah we haven't seen xmp kits that hi but we've seen overclocked over 8000 MHz I believe
Yep and using DDR4 with midrange 13th gen does actually hurt performance now
Btw whats amd expo ? is that something like xmp ?
Yes similar to xmp but optimized for amd. It tunes secondary and tertiary timings in addition to primary.
5500c20 is fun though (even if just buildzoid & a $400mobo or w/e) 🤣
Imagine not manually tuning your rams
Ddr5 pricing is pretty bad over here still and also budget builds are still a thing
UK has decent pricing on d5
I can't OC my 6400mhz kit couse z690 is acting weird with 64gb kit
Well yeah did you expect more from a first gen platform
Z690 especially hates 4x dimms
it was OCing good with 32gb kit but acting weird with 64gb kit
Z690 d5 mobos definitely don't need extra 2 slot lol it slowing down as crazy with 4dimms
Strix Z790A don't have ddr5 version
Many Z690 boards can't even hit the minimum speed of 4800 with 4 sticks
It's amusing looking through a QVL and seeing not one set of 4 dimms validated
What was the cheapest lga 1700 motherboard with dual bios?
That's a fairly uncommon feature. Let me see what I can find.
Ehhhh it looks decent but £1 is like 1.22$
Why dual bios?
I don't think there's any below $400 with that feature. It's been mostly replaced by the cheaper to implement flash buttons.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dk8bt6/msi-meg-z690-unify-atx-lga1700-motherboard-meg-z690-unify
dual bios sounds like a very picky feature
It's almost entirely unnecessary these days too
Flashback solves 99% of cases where it was needed
Well its safi lol
what was the program to monitor cpu core temps and all those fancy numbers?
Hwinfo64? MSI afterburner?
yes hwinfo
Oh my bad I didn’t know
in fact 750w is the recommended wattage for a 4080
So if I have a 3080 on a 750 without problems a 4080 will be fine?
Ye
My friend just sent me what he wants for his pc parts. He wants to pair a thread ripper with a 3060. Lol and he wants 64gb of 3600 ram. Keep in mind he only plays video games. 😂🤦♂️
@potent portal umm my pc isn't turning on
I came home to it off
I press power button and there's no life
False alarm the psu cord came loose like a tiny bit
I was so scared
It was the first one it's just very straight bc it's running out of length
im not sure where to put this but my headphones stopped working on my pc, its been working since i bought them by plugging them in, but i installed a new cpu and ram and it doesnt show me its opption
nevermind i fixed it, i overclocked the bios and then reinstalled windows
Reinstalling windows would have fixed it
I'm not even gonna begin to ask how you overclock bios
i did it once
What happened
i disagree, i think it deserves a 设置第一显卡/10
Hey I keep on getting out of Video Memory Trying to Allocate a Texture
How do I fix
removing your techie role immediately
what graphics card do you have and what are you trying to do
6700 xt
And playing valorant
And have to fully restart my pc while in a game
:/
Yha but idk it keep on crashing
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Ok after I win this game I will
i like the confidence lol
5-1 rn

Already I’m finish they ff
Need some help I heard a pop and my display cut out I don’t wanna believe it’s my gpu but that is probably it can someone make sure?
Whatever pictures are I needed I have then
Sounds like psu
Could you make a pcpartpicker.com list of your build?
Or if it's pre built link it?
Ok give me a sec
There ya go was one already
Have you tried turning it on yet? If not, dont
I did against better judgement and nothing happened the monitors just stayed black
I mean it was still on after the pop I had to turn it off after I got worried about it
Sounds like psu, I'm not sure on trouble shooting steps so I'm going to let someone else help you in fear of making something worse
@cyan ravine you around?
Hi I'm fleicc
Yes but I don’t think it’s the psu as everything still turns on
I was just playing games and I heard a pop and the screen went black no idea where in the pc
Also I can’t find any burn marks anywhere I can look at
Turn it off
It has been off
Leave it off
Ok
Wdym
All my leds turned on didn’t see any extra lights or less then what’s supposed to be on
When you turn on a pc
It goes through a post cycle
Basically "IS THIS OK? yes
WHAT ABOUT RAM? yes
VIDEO CARD? yes"
It has 4 lights on the mobo normally to tell you which part of that process
Do you remember seeing those lights and what one it may have been stuck on?
If not it's ok
Don't turn it back on
For starters, replacing the psu and it's cables would be your first step
But if you saw what part of the post cycle it got caught on you could maybe know what else may be broken
Don’t remember at all didn’t even know that was a thing
Ok start by doing the psu warranty claim
Then once you get a replacement, turn it on and see what it does
Ok what would be the danger of trying that now?
Unfortunately that unit is an amazing unit, way overbuilt for the specs, but we don't know if it's faulty so it could lead to maybe more damage
We don't know enough to safely turn it on again
I have that exact psu btw, it handles a 12900K and 3090
Very overkill
It shouldn't have died but we don't know what could be wrong
Yeah ik I wanted overkill to just make sure I was safe
Btw wanted to ask is it possible that the psu wasn’t affected or does a pop always mean psu
Pop means something broke
A cap went boom
But which cap? There's dozens maybe hundreds in a system
Black screen also tells that something is dead
I personally wouldn't try turning it on again in case the psu is a dodgy bad egg
I had a 1650W kill a bunch of hardware through many warranty claims earlier this year
Similar situation, overkill psu
I would start with the psu personally
So overkill is sometimes bad?
No
Overkill is good in this situation
But if the psu is faulty then it's just bad news bears
Ok should I also try to return any other parts or just the psu
Just the psu first
Ok
Then you check the debug lights when it's replaced
During the post
After you turn it on finally
And see what it gets caught on
Red is cpu normally, yellow is ram
White gpu
Green is (possibly) all good
Some boards ignore this colour code
But they all follow that sequence 1-4
I do sometimes see a white light on my mobo but didn’t know what it was for I don’t wanna say it was that but it coulda been
Well white is gpu
And a black screen could well mean the gpu died
But you won't know for sure until you get the psu replaced
Ok will do
You may be out of a pc for a little bit
Figured that
@prisma pasture just to be clear
Make double sure you put the cables in correctly with the new psu
8 pin to psu, 4+4 to cpu
8 pin to psu, 6 + 2 to gpu
16+8 to psu, 24 to mobo
You can definitely cause a pop and kill a part wiring the cables backwards
Not saying you did, but just for clarification
Ok yeah I’ve had this pc for a year and this is first problem I’ve had with it
Sometimes the psu side of 24pin has a 10pin part, figured i'd mention. Probably to be a lil different than all the 8pin spots.
Truth
My dad found a psu he got bout 2 years back and everything booted up fine all the lights went through and it stayed on at the dram
He also said to just boot it up with my psu cause he thinks it’s just the gpu since it booted up fine with it before
@gentle pollen Not too shabby. Digging the green, reminds me of 1 of my dad's old setups because I had blue fans while he had Green & Matrix screensaver. Cool how it's pulsating like Razer stuff often does. What's with the Fractal Torrent?
Thanks, most of my pheripherals except for the keyboard and mousepad are Razer. The fractal torrent is waiting for when I order the new pc parts in about a week.
Oh nice, good case. If enough room we could do old/new pc in about me spot. I lose track of all the builds around. Guess I also need a case for the 12400 setup actually. I might do the smaller of the 2 ATX torrents personally, not sure yet.
0.o that'd be cool.
if i bought ram would that improve my fps in game
My plant is to do a front mount 360 lf2 in push/pull and 3 P14s on the bottom.
warzone specifically
Depends on if your using up all the ram in your system currently.
More ram does not = more fps all the time.
so with my rtx 3060 and my r7 5700g how what do i upgrade for more fps
Having more ram only helps if your using up all or nearly all the ram your system currently has.
Perhaps sell 5700g replace w/ 5700/5800X. The g model usually for igpu & less cache makes it perform worse.
Which is being used more?
I can run games like Halo, MW2, Valorant, etc just fine on a I7-10700f which is about the same as your 5700g. So you'd probably be better off upgrading your GPU.
Oh yeah, Chillin how do you think my Fractal Torrent would look if I had 9 SL-Infinity fans in there?
6 in push/pull mostly for aesthetics since performance dif won't be that big, and 3 on the bottom.
how do i check
that sounds like a better idea
HwInfo is a good app for that but if your lazy, Task manager can also do it but it isn't as accurate.
Task Manager > More Details > Performance.
my cpu is being used at ~30% while my gpu is being used at ~10%
Also, how much ram is currently in your system, if it's 16gb it's just fine.
This is while ingame?
nvm, ~45% in game for cpu, ~25% for gpu
How high are your settings?
as low as i can go i think
Like Visual Settings.
Try upping your settings and check the performance impact.
If it's similar to how it is currently or big drop in frames.
Also, how much ram is in your system? Usually more ram doesn't mean better but if your system only has like 8gb that can affect peformance.
16gb 2x8
what speed?
3200mhz but im not sure if it's running at that
Hmmm, speed wise the ram is fine and you got plenty.
You'll go in bios & just make sure xmp is on. Oh, open task manager or cpuz. 3200 is plenty. Apex, it's between 2060S & 2070S just for an idea of performance.
The GPU right?
Imagine when igpu even matches a 1080, would be nuts.
Honestly it looks like CPU is your problem, so I agree with Chillin on upgrading it to a R7 5800x3D or 5700x.
Yes.
His current setup isn't as fast as he'd like it to be.
Gonna have to upgrade both gpu and cpu then
So we're trying to figure out what he'd need to upgrade to get better frames.
🤦♂️ I just realized. @kindred pawn what is your budget for a upgrade.
cold do only a gpu upgrade, though that will be somewhat bottlenecked assuming hes at 1080p
And what is your current mobo.
idk yet, if i bought a new cpu it'd be like $400 canadian at most
i dont wanna upgrade gpus yet
Got it.
A cpu upgrade alone isn't gonna do much for you
so $300 tops for a cpu upgrade.
If gaming is most what you do, the cheap route is 5600(x) as the replacement. Could also think about listing the 5700g for sale asap (I mean 1st) so maybe that money can instantly go to next one.
Oh sorry misread.
is there an r7 5600x?
theres a 5600 and 5600x, pretty close performance
Ignore the r5 r7 r9 bs. 5600(X) is 6 core & X is just 200ish mhz faster. 5700x/5800x are 8core.
if the 5700x is $269 and the 5600x is $229 shouldn't i just get 5700x
Oh definitely. 5600(x) is bigger in the usa when price is like $150 vs $200+ on the others, for example. Those 2 extra cores sure won't help. 5700X I hear is like a 5800x almost but runs quite a bit cooler.
Cooler because less watts per core
Part List - Intel Core i9-13900K, Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower
My build list for my next upgrade (prices are based on the cost from amazon.com.mx).
Caught on dram is dead ram
I expected about as much
I can't help with this tho I'm at work sorry
ohh alr alr
Do keep in mind that it's open back
So it doesn't keep any noise in or out at all
oh damn
It's fine if you use it in a room by yourself, but others can hear what you're listening to when they're near
They're like little speakers basically
For closed back I can think of steelseries nova pro wireless
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7y7wJM This is my friends build that i was talking about yesterday. Ive tried to help him with it but he wont listen to anything i say except for when i said to get rid of the threadripper. 😑 Like im just try to help him put his money to something better. Like he will never use all that ram so why not get 16gb or 32gb and save that money upgrade one of the others.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT, GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, Thermaltake AH T600 ATX Full Tower
Cooler aio gpu
If I were to change anything it would be those 3
The rest, while odd, aren't exactly terrible, very usable lol
I completely agree! But I also think that he can get dropped down to atleast 32gb if he wants extra still but not an outrages amount that he'll never use. If you were to make a list what would it be? I made one for him but idk why he's not taking my advice.
I mean he won't really make the money back on the ram, he could just keep it tbh
He could sell 2 sticks? But would probably only get $60 for it
He hasn't bought anything yet lol
I couldn't make a list without knowing how much he'd spend tbh
Alright I'll ask him when I get off. But my guess is around that list price
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/CrazyCat1344/saved/#view=X6XzP6 Anyone have any Advice on parts? I'm not good with Motherboards and I already own the GPU
I would not but most of that
13700k is all around better and a bit cheaper
Liquid freezer ii 360 or ls720 both cheaper and better for aio
I'll make you a new list in a few min
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700KF, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
@gilded spade
No you're good, I just pinged you to make sure you saw it
Thanks
If you really like the look of the case you chose, i would switch it to the h7 flow
It's the only good version of it
My budget is around 16-1800$ USD So that list is good for new mouse, keyboard, ETC...
Do you need a monitor too?
Oh also, if you're gaming imo I would switch it to a 13600kf and ddr5
and maybe for streaming
Pretty sure a 13600k on ddr5 performs better than a 13700k on ddr4
Alright
Wait
Didn't copy right
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Also I'm not good on power supplies
There we go
My GPU needs 750 but idk about anything else
The psu in there would be fine with a 3090/4090, it'll be fine with a 3080
If you're curious, there's a tier list pinned in #cases-psu-and-cooling
That's fine
Will still be fine on that psu
Ah okay
Also I have a Predator Monitor, its 240 HZ and is 1920x1080 but I don't quite know the name of it
Oh I found it
I'm not going to buy off eBay but that's just where I could find it https://www.ebay.com/itm/254371739962?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-222657-2056-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=254371739962&targetid=1267522138537&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9026425&poi=&campaignid=16510741874&mkgroupid=133434371919&rlsatarget=pla-1267522138537&abcId=9300829&merchantid=138372440&gclid=CjwKCAiAy_CcBhBeEiwAcoMRHOo-SQrfw-scrOI8xyL4jM-64GCHukUeSvW1oCfEgsGzn8xpgzOMKxoCC8sQAvD_BwE
Do you play competitively or for fun?
Both but mainly competitively
I also plan on starting streaming once I get the upgrade
Ah, then that's fine. 1080p on a 3080 ti is kinda... disappointing, but if you have other stuff you need to buy before a monitor upgrade I'd prioritize that after
No I plan on upgrading the monitor
Ah ok
Monitors is just the thing im worst on
Any monitors bigger than 1080p?
Those are all 1440p
Oh
The monitor looks great and ill take your word for it cause idk anything about it
Theyre all good, I can personally vouch for the x27q which is actually the worst of the ones I mentioned
Worst being subjective
Yeah
The new G500A case is pretty amazing aswell
Hey I’m trying to get a gaming pc for $3k for Christmas can someone please help me out?
Pre built or build yourself?
And is it just the tower in the budget?
Any I just really want something worth the money
Naw Idc about looks
Are you going to use ethernet or do you need wireless for the pc
Wireless
All good take your time
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JgFhLs check this out
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Could go cheaper if you wanted, 4090 is likely insanely overkill for what you're doing
So since the 5600x is cheaper I should get it? How different is it from the 5700g? Would the performance be better cause I don't have an igpu?
I'd just change gpu to 6900xt/7900xtx/4080/3080 if you want it cheaper
5600x from 5700g is mainly a side grade imo
It's not too difficult to diy
But if you can find a place, I personally wouldn't pay more than $150, they might charge more though because of the cost of the actual build
You think you can help me out with a pre-built?
Yeah, give me a few minutes to look around though
God I hate cyberpowers website
Switch case to the 4000d airflow, cpu to 7600x
Can either get whatever gpu you would like to, up to you
I would suggest 7900xtx personally, 4080 perf
But if you want the 4090, it fits the budget
And ima still be looking around, that's just one option
Alright
Oh also mwe gold V2 850 for the psu
This with a 13600kf, same 4000d airflow case, same psu, and again gpu is dependant on you https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower-Z690-i9-Configurator
I'd check on how much the 5700g might be worth 1st. In games, especially 1440p and above is when cpu isn't as huge a deal unless you had 4500g or such.
Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black for 34,900 HUF
Worth buying?
it's in box, with 3 months warranty
Used, but cleaned, in box with all accessories (from a second-hand hardware shop)
It's ~55,000 HUF brand new
How much us that in usd?
91 usd
Googled it
I'd check pricing on dark rock pro 4 and ak620
Oh also fc140 and peerless assassin 120
3 months from retailer? Noctua does 6 year warranty
Probably not worth paying for a d15 still
I thought the D15 is like one of if not the best air coolers?
Dark Rock Pro 4 is 30k HUF used, no warranty of any kind from seller
AK620 only available new, 28k HUF+shipping
Other 2 unavailable entirely
It's the gold standard, but it's just the standard, now that other coolers measure up to it while being cheaper, like ak620
Issue with the AK620 is that I'd pay more overall, because shipping
rip
by like 2k
What about like freezer 34 duo
How much is the shipping
About the same as the AK620
So way more than it should be, but whatever
estimate shipping for this?
https://www.alza.hu/arctic-freezer-34-esports-duo-white-d5561382.htm
Roughly 3k if I get it to a packet point
so approx 68$ for freezer 34 duo or 92$ for d15, neither prices are good, but I'd go for freezer 34 duo
review for numbers

We're reviewing & benchmarking Arctic's Freezer 34 eSports Duo CPU cooler versus some of the other best coolers for AMD and Intel right now, including Noctua and Scythe.

Like ou...
I mean
It's for a 7700k
It can't be that bad
I'd probably be able to get away with way cheaper stuff
It's more that I saw a D15 45% cheaper than new in store and I thought it'd be a good buy
nah don't go by margins like that, they can just mark things up to infinity
My start up app aren’t loading and I can’t press on the task bar…
Well the D15 Chromax Black is 50-55k HUF new here
Nvm a simple restart on the 3rd try fix it
Tbf the prices are below usual rn
Normally it's closer to 60-65k HUF
Now it's only 50-55k brand new
Or 35k used
d15 msrp should be 100$, worth maybe 20$ less than that, it does not mean you should buy it when Amazon does the usual "140$ but 30% off" thing
I mean the new price is without any discounts
Just straight up
And the used is about 45% less than the new one
just means the new one is already more than 45% overpriced
That's just the default price here
(and still overpriced)
D15 at 100$ nowadays in the US is already considered overpriced now that other options are on the table
The cheapest brand new I have ever seen is 48,900 HUF+shipping (~1500)
I think
Yeah, just under 50k HUF
But that was ~2 years ago
consider this,
50,000 HUF for a D15 new
23,000 HUF for a Freezer 34 duo new
Where Freezer 34 duo performs very similarly to the D15
It makes d15 a horrible buy
overpriced as hell
Issue is Alza is notorious about horrid customer service and the occasional scam here
Only one way to find out
Even the duo would be more than enough
Especially if you're just gaming, something like the 224xt would be fine
Yeah, I know
It just felt like a good opportunity to score a D15 that I can use later to cool a more powerful chip
I have a d15, it's good, but it's not that good
Freezer 34 can do most things a d15 can
That's so weird to me lel
It's been so many years when the D15 was basically untouched by anything other than 240+ AIOs and custom watercooling
So you think changing from a 3060 to something else would be better? Cause the cpu change would be a cheaper option
Cause the graphics cards are really expensive to upgrade
Ig I can't really upgrade till I got the money
I'll come back if I do, thanks yall
It can
Can it support me emotionally?
only temporarily
Financially?
Definitely
My Pc just died and trying to get a new pre built pc around 1.6k budget is there any good options that you guys can recommend me? Thank you
country and use for the pc?
US and Video editing, Gaming and stuff like that
False.
You have yet to be enlightened. I will fix that
Can I use it to support my butt when my chair breaks

otherwise id get this

anyone know some good PSUs around the ~$70 mark that can handle a ryzen 7 3700x + rx 6700xt? the setup will take around 430w based on PcPartPicker, but I might get a higher watt psu so i have more room to upgrade
https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-smart-bm2-750w-ps-spd-0750mnfabu-1/p/N82E16817153423 is this Thermaltake Smart good? 75 bucks for a 750W 80+ Bronze
oh Bacca's one
damn it's a Tier A High end??
how much of a Watt overhead should computers have? or can this psu be under full load and still be safe
cause i've heard from others that the one I have can blow up or something if its like 50w close to the limit
yes it is, the 650w will be a good choice to pair with a 6700xt
only if they are like terrible
yep
more than should be
im planning on buying a 1tb m.2 drive since the 500gb one i have barely has enough space anymore. What's the difference between M.2 drives such as Western Digital, Team Group, Silicon Power and others compared to like Samsung? they're like ~30 bucks cheaper, so i'd like to buy them
model matters much more than brand
WD has some amazing ssds such as the sn850x, and then they have the sn300
Samsung is like evga, but rides on the name/hype even more. Team mp33/34 is good at $60ish as are a few others.
Yes it is
ok nice
Between these three RX 6700 XT brands, which do you guys think is the best to get? they're all 360 bucks
the 3 are similar, just choose the cheapest, and in case the 3 are on the same price, just choose the one that look prettiest to you
i see
#notthemech
wait wut
Either Asrock or powercolor
Dont get the mech
The MSI one is ass
Cooling
Its hot
ahhh
It’s cooling is just bad
i guess the brands really do matter
maybe the ASrock cause it has a higher ratio of good reviews
compared to the powercolor's 4 reviews
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yQsF9r ok i think i got it now. upgraded the gpu and psu, and added a m.2 drive. what do u guys think?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Are you buying all this or do you own some of it already?

Models matter. MSI makes cards that are fine, just the mech in particular isn't good
hard to judge if you dont tell us what you already have
ahh yea i own everything except the M.2 MP33, RX 6700 XT, and the 650W PSU
MP33 is good
seems pretty ok 👍
im replacing a gtx 1050 with the 6700xt, and my evga 500w with a 650w
mp33 is bae
ok tysm
is the mp33 one of the best budget nvme drives?
however, if you find an mp34 at 5-10 usd distance, then get the mp34
cause theres like 5 other brands that have the same price and size
oh yep its out of stock
yeah mp33 is best budget nvme
idk when it did though so not sure how long it will take to get back
but sometimes the mp34 is at 5usd distance, and that make the mp34 better
wait hold up its on amazon
It's more like mp33 is an easy suggestion, lots of drives like it, but there isn't a solid rule so it's annoying to list every drive
The NV2 is best.
Check a60
Best for budget yeah
best budget ones yes
They're one of many
hmm but which one between the 3
There's a lot like them
the cheapest for you, they perform pretty similar
Mp33 and a60 are standard e13t and sm2263xt drives
Nv2 is weird, apparently already has like 4 different variants lol
oh its gen 4 rather than gen 3 for the others
Oh god
whatever that means
Might be e21t, might be e19t, might be qlc? I don't know what's up, all I know is the note to the side of newmaxx's sheet
Optimally it performs great but I dunno what's up
Well one of those three are immediately scary
One of these things is not like the other.
uh so should i go for the NV2 then? looks like it has the highest read and write
and u could possibly get a better model...?
Look at notes of nv2
And seq isn't everything
The notes of nv2 means you might get something that performs worse than what the specs say
is that worse version still better than the mp33 and a60 drives?
ok ty
also, do you know an good in ear monitors i could buy? headphones are pretty uncomfortable for me as my ears get hot and the pressure kinda hurts
the bluetooth ones i have are pretty heavy, so studying with them and repeatedly looking up and down gets super annoying
hey good evening guys i was wondering if i could take maybe 5-10mins out someone's day that's good with ram sticks?
What's your budget?
hmm i'd like to be on the cheaper side since im buying all these pc parts, maybe around 30 bucks?
Uhhh
...
Moondrop chu perhaps
For what about ram?
compared to regular headphones, how much of a decrease in sound quality are IEMs?
Depends on the iem
i guess like a high-end headphones compared to a high-end iem
There's just too much to it tbh, you'll have to just try them
Like are we talking 3000$ iem vs 3000$ headphones or are we including like he-1, this stuff gets crazy
uhhh
yao says IEMs are generally better than over-ear
He-1
Plz don't listen to yao
i heard that audiophile stuff gets reaaally expensive lol
I don't have enough data points to give you my opinion
dont wanna delve too much into it
all I can say is I just upgraded from $150 over-ear headphones to $520 IEMs and the IEMs are much better
Yao is just... Acts like they're the authority on everything and can't really back it up
But anyways there's too much to it
i wanted to upgrade my ram but the ones i have are sold as a 4 pack and im missing 2 i was wonder if i can just pop 2 more in or should i buy another pack of 4

IEMs are honestly great for comfort imo
he picked out some pretty neat IEMs for me at least
But I do love my senni open backs
yea thats honestly why i think ill get them over headphones
pretty sure any headphones wont be as comfortable as iems
If you can, buy the same model, if not, if it's an easy to run xmp, like 3200c16, there's a good chance you can grab another 2x8 and it'll run fine, or it'll take tweaking, especially if it's like 3600c16 kits or above
Will never catch me with IEMs
I will say that my old over-ears were more comfortable than my new IEMs
Too much ear pain from trying all sorts of in-ears
but the new IEMs aren't bad
I...gave up
they're comfortable, I just can't forget that I'm wearing them
shoot i forgot, dont iems go super deep in your ear or something
Personally I like over ears better but that's partly because my ear is wacky and I'd prob need custom earplugs to be comfy and also full seal or ans hurts my head for some reason
I would usually forget I was wearing the HD598SE
they actually have 3200c16 writing on the side of them
Suggestions are probably fine, but he acts like there's more to it than just looking at some other person's numbers, and can't back up his claims of something more to it
He's like "oh crinacle doesn't take into account this"
And then used crinacle's review and crinacle's chart
I just don't like the guy
understandable
my knowledge of audio basically extends to "moondrop variations sound pretty good"
lol
It's like the difference between me and you in terms of ram, I can point you to good sources, but I haven't actually messed with ram much
i heard that most of the time u should change out the earbuds on iems, are these good?
Enough ranting for now
I'd wait until you try it to tell
This stuff is personal preference
I mean try the stock ones on the iems first
depends on your ears
If you need replacements, look for replacements after figuring out it doesn't fit or whatever
I'm using crinacle's tier list for general quality
also looks like iems arent that bad for hearing too
Putting high volume on anything can hurt your hearing, just gotta lower that volume
ahh yea
wait hold up i forgot one major thing
are IEMs good for competitive games, such as for surround stuff and so?
compared to headphones
Quick question why are some games crashing on my new pc?
If it helps they are all steam games
Usually a worse imaging and sound stage but you'll have to try it and see
Need more info, what specs, what specific games, what other symptoms
ok thx
is there any good brand monitor stand company
i mean i see some cheap stuff but i dont wanna buy something or it to breakl bc it cant hold up my monitor
I can't help but browse the used marketplaces
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME A320M-K

My senses say not good buy, but am curious about everyone else
I'd say like 150 usd... maybe

gigabyte simp
why no gigabyte case
I wonder if it comes with an authentic exploding psu
Check the pins
It's pretty in depth
yeah alright
so whats your budget and have you bought anything @cold turtle ?
I am temporarily in Germany and will go soon, meanwhile, I want to buy a GPU and/or CPU and take along as these cost a lot more in my country
ahh okay you gonna buy motherboard and stuff too?
I also consider that I won't be fully building the system soon, only getting CPU, GPU which are main components
no, no only GPU or CPU, or maybe both if I have good deals
I don't know about these things, I am kind of confused considering the prices and reviews by users
It's a good idea usually to buy everything at once for two main reasons. They might go on sale later, and if something is wrong with the parts you're still in the return window.
I must take the risk :(
it is one in my lifetime that I come abroad and buy a pc part
it will not happen again
There's new CPUs that are expected to be a much better value in the next 2 months
So if you really have to buy now know what you're getting into at least
I am open for your advice
The GPU should be ok to get now. If you can find one a 7900 XTX (not XT) is good
how much is the price?
it is unfortunately well beyond my budget
what else can I buy?
Pato is also gone

For a lower budget you can look at the 6700 XT or 6750 XT
Any lower than that and I'd be looking at used
They're just bad value right now
all nvidia cards are just bad value
If you can find a 3070 for cheaper than the 6750 go for it
only used most likely
Yep. Used are decent value because miners dumped a bunch of them.
yes, I see, RTX are much higher in price than RX
so I would go for RX then
and disregard Ray Tracing being bad
for editing, they might also be better
this one is good, right?
sorry for long long link
id get this then https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/GKQ89r
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon RX 6750 XT
honestly the bump over 6750xt isnt worth like 200€
you mean 6800 is not worth the extra 200 right?
yes
if only you could wait for the i5-13400
:DDD I wish that I could, I will leave here in less than a month
sad
at least I can take a GPU with me
with the hope that it won't be defective
because I will have the chance to test that in a few years lol
honestly intels eu pricing hasnt been great on like 13600k and stuff anyway soo
but yeah would probably be like 250 max
EU pricing going boom in general I hear
in a few.... years???? dont buy anything then, in a few years we should have newer gens and this ones will be either obsolete or heavily discounted
then any advice rn is useless for you pal
I don't think I will get cheaper prices in my home country anytime in future
plain as that
I also thought that actually
maybe I can keep the money and buy later
Eh it's just msrps deciding to go up in eu compared to us, e.g. iPhone 14 price stayed same as 13 in NA but not in the rest of the world it's mega sad idk why so spensiv
thing is, spend if you are going to use it... if you are going to spend just to shelf the gpu for a few years, then is a waste of money
You should
And it could be not working and you'd never know then you'd have a 500€ brick on your shelf
I should not buy any part then
Not if you're not gonna buy everything
Either buy all the parts now or just lower end parts in a few years will outperform mid range parts now anyway for less
Also a lot of eastern eu countries can buy from Amazon.de so consider that
I am not an EU citizen
anyway, what you said is totally right
I will not buy anything at the moment
tech prices are so wild that any advice right now can be useless the next week
yeah :(
I believe it delivers to some non eu countries too, you should see if it does
let alone a few years
I wanted to get into video editing as soon as I go back to my home country to be honest
now, I think I will just stick to my gtx 1060 for that
then why you said "in a few years"?
Oh if you have a pc then by all means get a gpu and slap the new one in
because I already have a pc that is not good, I was planning to make an upgrade in a few years if I make money
with my current potato pc
your statement back there gave the impression that you will buy a card to shelf it and test it in a few years
I can test it with my current pc, but I am afraid that it can do something to the GPU
can I just take off the GTX 1060 and put the RX?
your pc cant damage your gpu, YOU can damage the gpu, and the pc as well
will that work?
yes
i had a 3060ti slotted on a 4770k back in the day
with 16 Gb of ram
no problems
well, bottleneckd, but that was expected
what is that?
aside from that, ran fine
most likely, but not as bad as people would think
I need to search what bottlenecking is
bottleneck means that either your cpu or your gpu cant be as fast as the other ones, and you will lose performance as result
in my case, my 4770 was too slow to get the full performance of my 3060ti
nothing harmful tho
but worked nonetheless
oh all right
all I want, is it not to give any damage to my GPU whatsoever lol
it will probably be the most valuable item I got
again, your pc cant damage your gpu
you are the only one capable to damage either one of those
bad handling or something like that, but compatibility issues? nah
just some bottlenecking, but that is expected
just make sure you have a decent psu
now I am hyped because I will have the chance to try the GPU right away
Reason: Bad word usage
yeah sometimes i miss my 3060ti
what psu you have now?
Thermaltake, but not sure which one exactly
what do you have now
ever since I started using gtx 1060, I have been having non stop FPS drops and performance issues
non stop, literally
I am fed up of it
not confidence inspiring id probably get a new psu thermaltake have like 1 maybe 2 good psus and the rest are terrible. recon you could psu back with you?
been years, but never found a solution
you have xmp enabled?
a 750ti :D, gave my 3060ti to my sis cause she make cad work and twitch game streaming... me? i dont play that much lately, so the 750ti is enough for my daily use
I don't know what that is really
really good move :))
I will get a new psu, as far as I know, they don't cost much
extreme memory profile, it helps dramatically with fps, basically your ram doesnt run at 3200mhz or whatever its rated for out of the box
I will adjust it for sure as soon as I get home
but I am pretty sure it is not the reason
so the conclusion is
I will just buy an RX instead of RTX and put into my pc and it will work
oh I actually expected less pricy :D
wouldn't it be too heavy to carry all the way to home? I think I will only stick to the GPU for now
yes, you will have to ddu tho
to clean the nvidia drivers
and make room for the amd drivers
maybe I can buy psu at home
ddu?
!ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
what do you usually mind when you choose a psu?
1st the gpu and cpu pairing, so you can estimate the wattage requirement
then you look at the psu cultist tier list, they have a lot of psu models rated on quality tiers, from A to F
Depends what luggage weight restrictions you have, it is like 2kg
but most of the time once you figure the wattage, the bois here cna help you with a good psu from the tier list anyway
oh right, I will ask it here as soon as I buy a psu
yeah, this is what I do not know at the moment, if I have more free space, I will surely grab a psu as well
